Let's face it, no one plays DBD for fun anymore, when it comes down to it people play for ranks and making the score board.

Killers struggle to win, and resort to camping which is honestly looked down upon, tunnling is annoying but killer's atleast lets you get saved. (I perfer tunneling, its challenging)

Survivors run the same old boring builds that they know is a almost garenty victory with skill. they get mad after being tunnled and DC. (dumb excuse for DC-ing) or for other reasons

I play for fun, weather I'm maining survivor or playing killer for free points and to just mess with people and give them free points. (or to improove and understand how both sides work)
I also play for the cool cosmetics, one person role play, and a challenge.

I'll admit I get mad and frustrated, and I do DC, but I only disconnect if I have to do work else where, or (survivor reason only) if I can't get saved while being camped.
(Hey I'm not wasting my time on a match were the killer is just going to sit there and watch me die) I know I'm not going to escape every time and I understand that, but I'm not wasting a match where its not fun.

Besides what's wrong with me DC when I get camped? Killer gets the full points if he had actually killed me, rank isn't important to me, items I'll just get back later in the blood web. So go ahead and camp, I don't care, I'll just leave and play a different match.

I LOVE PLAYING AGAINST HARDCORE PLAYERS WHO PLAY KILLER EVEN THOUGH THE DEVS NERF KILLERS SO BAD (AND A FAVOR SURVIVORS) AND STILL COME ON TOP!!! THEY RULE!!!!!!

So yeah I'm just playing for fun. You don't need to tell me why killers camp, I under stand that they are unplayable, and ultimately rage inducing. So really play how ever you want. Camping is just a flaw with the game and we survivors have to accept that. I have, too bad only the few like me probably play for fun.

(This is what I'm doing, no arguing on camping because neither side wins, and we have our own ways of ticking off killers we aren't all innocent)

A lot of these are just assumptions and not everyone runs into this every single game. Every game is different cause you will always be playing against different players/killers or with other survivors. That goes for being the killer you will run into different survivors. So many variables contribute to the outcome of a match. The fact that you DC is just a waste of your time cause you don't get anything out of it. You lose your points if you really cared about points and it acts like you did nothing for the allotted time you clicked join lobby or create lobby. If you don't mind wasting your own time than DC. Also killers can be good if played correctly. Not every killer plays optimally.

    1) starts with 3 traps but loses ability to hold 3 after placeing the first one, then he can hold 2 by default
    2) can throw traps at a distance right in front of him to set them instead of bending down
    3) Traps have bigger hitboxes and the propt for disarming a trap is only shiwn when looking directly at the trap
    4) New option to manually trap windows and pallets so they will always trap survivors instead of trying to inch around until you think you have the perfect place
    5) Remove the downfalls of all addons

    1. They are already coming out with a buff where he can hold up to 5 traps with addons.
    2. Would this be an addon?
    3. New addons will make disarming a trap less rewarding than before.
    4. This is more of a play trapper more than buff manually.
    5. They are already reworking addons for him.

Here is my list of things that need to happen:
•change the way players match up
    •Fix totem spots
•allow the killer to see if the survivors are SWF
    •Fix hitboxes
    •Reduce Loops
•Remove the spin when survivors drop pallets
    •Fix flashlight saves
       - change the range required to get the save
       - make the possibility to counter the save
    • Show actual percentages
       -Hindrance effect with huntress add-on
       -Flashlight add-ons
       -Medkit add-on
       -Trapper trap add-ons
       -Wraith add-ons
       -Hag add-ons
       -Bloodhound
       -Shadowborn
-more that I can’t think of
    •Rework “Surveillance”
-don’t make it only 16 seconds
    •Buff Freddy
-Change the sleep transition to five seconds
       -Make survivor’s repair/heal/sabo/exit speed 75% slower
       -Increase power range
-Remove the movement speed reduction from the “Red Paintbrush”
-Make the “Black Box”’s obsession spawn away from other survivors (trump shrouds)
-Make a generator-like explosion sound when and where a survivor wakes up.
-Allow him to grab awake survivors out of the hatch
    ————
Not sure what else from there, please add to it or share your opinion.

Most of these don't make the game dead. Freddy doesn't mean the game is dead. Just because you are bad at killer doesn't mean the game is dying..

I know this will never be a thing but i'd like to share my idea just for pure fun while waiting.....

The only thing I see that can be weird is that the license owners for leatherface probably don't want changes to the weapon since it probably is in the contract.

Thank you so much for all of your answers! Do you guys have any tips for using sprint burst? Do you try to wait until the last second to use it, or do you run around the map more often?

whenever I ran sprint burst I never saved it cause I was able to get to gens a lot quicker and by the time the killer found me my sprint burst would already be up or close to up again

  • I have played at rank 1 survivor with no perks and I do just fine. As long as you are aware and know how to play as a survivor you don't need perks.

    Tips:
Always track where the killer is or about the general area of where the killer is.
When you spot the killer try to track where the killer has been for most of the game. This info gives you so much knowledge of where pallets might have been used up.
Scouting is important, knowing what you have around you at your disposal and which windows are opened and closed.
Realize which areas are safe and which areas are not.

Now if you are interested in what I use for perks when I actually use them:
BT, SC, UE, (exhaustion perk of choice)..

Not really arguing about getting iridescent or not. I think I should've fully escaped for iridescent.
But I do think I should've earned a Gold Emblem because thanks to me all of the other survivors managed to get the 5 gens and earn full unbroken and high lightbringer (if not full for some).

Also @Zanfer we could sit here all day and argue the proper definition of "Evader" in regards to this game, but the bottom line is that the Emblem does not reward hiding nor avoiding the killer as it should and simply expects you to get into a chase and escape it every time in order to get a decent Emblem.
While I agree that people that aren't in chase can easily get high emblems in other categories, the person in Chase is expected to initiate a chase and escape it over 4 times per game in order to get iridescent without ever getting hit. You'll only get that if the killer is helping you farm or if they have an IQ of -30

You shouldn't be aiming for and iridescent because the devs have already said that the iridescent is for going above and beyond in that category. Aiming for gold is always better. As for getting gold because you got chased all game it depends on if you even hit the floor. To get iridescent you have to escape without going down. Gold is when you escape even though you went down. Why should you get a gold for dying?

I saw that, which is why this thread is so silly to me (entertaining but...)

As far as I can tell op is advocating for no gameplay that is not what they consider to be skilled game play, something I believe to be subjective and only based on a personal emotional response.

The quantifiable way of winning is either through pips or through killing in the eyes of a large majority of the killer base. that’s what he wants changed based on a personal preference how “fun” is measured for them.

Any repetitive action or circumstance is boring and less “fun” eventually even any viable changes this thread could come up with would end up stale. These changes would most likely come from nerfs in the meta and buffs in the non meta (something that is already happening like it or not) or a complete overhaul to the game mechanics as a whole. A new mode of gameplay wouldn’t even solve this issue but I advocate for this option (never know when a not so interesting defense building FPS will blow up into a immensely successful BR with building)

i think both both of our points @Zanfer is that the arguement itself is invalid because it’s unquantifiable, intangible and inconsistent.

You can totally quantify fun. It's called a Likert scale and is used in actual game research. It's been done, just look it up. But you don't even need that for this game really all you need to do is look at the comments after games, or on the forums, or on YT, or on your Steam profile. If people are didn't have fun there is a high chance they will be toxic. Then that attitude carries over to the next game and the next. After a while even games that would have been fun won't be because you are so tilted. And this toxicity grows because of the amount of bullshit each side can do to the other. Take that BS away and people would have less reason to be toxic, which invariably means that people are having more fun with the game. Granted there will be some people that are toxic anyway, but the point here is to reduce the instances of the game itself causing the toxicity. No survivor likes camping and tunneling. No killer likes looping and SWF flashlight abusers. Why you guys fight to keep this garbage is beyond me.

As far as skill you can also quantify that very easily. How fast does the killer catch you? How much map pressure do they apply? Do they keep you all engaged in something other than gen repair? When a killer can just put the first person on a hook and wait, even if the other survivors rush, that killer got a kill with little to no skill. It's honestly not hard to catch 1 person in an entire game. Chase them long enough, without them actually getting away, and you will catch them eventually. Winning itself does not equal skill when you use tactics that are outright easy and highly rewarding. IDK if you are aware of Akuma in the old SF series, but when he originally appeared as a playable character he was so far and above every other character in the game he ended up being banned at tournaments. Pick Akuma and you win, does that mean it takes skill to play him? Not really because he wins by using very easy and highly rewarding tactics. Chasing 1 person and sitting by the hook to kill them takes no skill, or at the very least significantly less skill than chasing/hooking multiple survivors, yet the game rewards the former more than the latter. You can't deny that.

The fact people like you are so ready to accept this kind of nonsense as acceptable behavior is part of the reason it still exists. People like you defending it as if it should be a valid tactic, when all it does is promote toxicity while letting less skilled players get more wins/pips that they rightfully should. Camping/tunneling does not belong in the game, period. You should not be rewarded as killer for these tactics, at least not so much that it supersedes the need to go out and actually do something to earn your rank.

No game worth it's salt as an eSport allows defensive strategies to be superior to offensive ones, because defensive strats are not only much easier to do but ruin the spirit of the game in the process. It's why FPS players hate campers, and why FGC hates turtling, because play defensively is a very easy thing to do and playing against it is a chore, not entertainment. Really go find me any legit eSport game where the superior tactics are defensive. You won't because those games nerfed those tactics so they aren't viable (at least not as a primary strategy). If you get put into a defensive position in any serious competitive game that's usually a sign that you are losing, not winning.

    1. You can easily find peoples opinions about a game online like any other game. That doesn't justify how fun it is for people in general. Some people won't like certain games and so will you. You clearly don't like this game as much as you used to, so you have your right to say the game isn't as fun. The game is fun for me cause I play a certain way to were the best outcomes come out of it.

    2. Goes on about how killers shouldn't play defensively because it isn't as fun when fun is still subjective to an emotion that can only be experienced by the player it self and no one else. What about the new players that have never played the game.? What about you when you started playing? Clearly you had to play the game to figure out what strategies work better. New players can't and casual players play for their enjoyment.

    3. Toxicity is in every game and you don't have to read any post game or anything about the game if you don't want to. Casual players don't care about forums or youtube videos. They care about playing the game once in a while to have fun. Fun is subjective to the person playing.

    4. I don't know why you brought esports into the conversation cause DBD is NOT and esports title/game. Games that I like are different from games you would like. Just because it has esports in the title doesn't make it a "more fun" gaming experience..

  • @Nickenzie said:
@thesuicidefox I made a post about how the developers should rework the hook. Basically, when your on the hook for a extend period of time, you'll lose vision of everything. It's complete darkness, you can only see they hook and your survivor so you can't tell if your being camped or not. It makes being on the hook fun and it adds tension to the survivor because you'll never know if your going to be saved or not. Additionally you can't hear the killer's terror radius as well to make it confusing when you get unhooked.

Basically, instead of getting upset at killers for doing their job, make losing more fun! :)

This doesn't really change anything for what the OP is wishing for..

Looping/DS/SB/SC/BT isn't fun for either side, Survivors who loop or use those perks could just be doing it to win, which is stupid. Loopers are just playing a game to win at something they aren't even good at. (sic) So loopers play a different game and quit wasting our matches, when we could be playing more fun and challenging matches with a good Survivor.

Now, did that convince you? Obviously not.

Looping? Okay back to camping, Killers should be out and searching for other survivors after they hook someone, not standing right there waiting for them to die. to me Camping can be (to an extent) justifide. 1. is if the killer wasn't able to catch anyone before the exit gates were open, but that also could mean they got salty.
    2. they could be doing it for a daily rituel, I (in a way) camped when I had this daily rituel to sacrifice 2 survivors with the Wraith. I was honestly really bad at being killer, but this was during the time you couldn't change your daily rituel for something else. What i did was I hooked someone, went invisable, let another person save them, uninvisabled and chased after the person who wasn't injured. but after that I played fairly.

Okay bringing looping into the subject, Looping is different, the killer has the choice to go and look for another survivor that isn't as good at looping, other wise he's wasting time chasing someone he can't seem to catch ( not Yet but maybe later) Looping is also a distraction tactic, and like I said the killer could go and try to catch other survivors instead of being looped by someone.

What I have quoted from you is dumb, Ever hear of hide and seek tag? being the killer is hard, though I only play killer from time to time just to troll people with doctor (ZAP ZAP!!) I do see how toxic survivors can be.
Look it may seem like it, but I'm not all the way with survivor, camping is a problem that comes from the killers only. Not being able to find survivors and/or being able to hit them due to juking from survivors thats a skill based problem. Survivors not being able to juke and/or getting saved from the hook thats a survivor problem. (I literraly had a match against huntress, where I got hooked roughly before the last gen or 2 gens were done and no one bothered to come save me, so I lucky me freed my self)

Look I'm sorry but camping just makes it un fun and the killer wastes time not really playing at all. You your self have to know this is a big problem, and not a lot of people want to play this game because of camping. I have accepted I'm not always going to escape. if anything now I just play to see how good I can get and for fun. I don't really care about ranks. but if I encounter a camping killer, then I'm going to dc because I don't want to play match thats going to make me mad, its not worth it. I'll accept my fate if I die, but not if its going to from someone who doesn't really want to play. if your one of those killers who made it to higher ranks from camping then we are done here...

I don't understand why you guys still fight over camping. You are just barking at a tree that won't do anything at all. The game mechanics allow for it and that is that. Not every killer will play how you want to play cause not every killer who plays this game plays the game optimally. Especially newer people to the game who don't even know how to play yet. They can learn overtime as camping isn't the best strategy, but you can't deny that a killer has the right to play defensively if survivors are over altruistic.

tldr; NOT EVERY KILLER IN DBD PLAYS OPTIMALLY

survivors can easily loop a killer, flashlight the killer when they break pallets/ vault windows, and lose the killer. its not as hard as you think. killers only get to see what is infront of them.

This sage speaks the truth. How about a little less DS in your perk build because I'm betting iridescent shards that you use meta perks, Fix. You have perks that let you know when the killer is facing you, when they are near, urban evasion quick and quiet for master level locker chase escapes. The fact you think you can't escape once seen shows that you just aren't good. Work on not getting seen first, then escaping a chase.

Yeah it is just common sense knowledge and you have so much at your disposal to get away from a killer..

  • The emblem is perfectly fine. If you didn't evade the killer than you shouldn't get the points. You could have lost the killer in 5 gens and if not well that is on you not the emblem. As for someone talking about bloodlust, you have to use the safe pallets to get rid of it or get killer stuns. Try and juke as much as you can. Evader means you avoid the killer, not get constantly chased all game.

Not all killer characters are skill based.

How many nurses camp? How many survivors can loop the nurse? A nurse game is the closest thing I can think of that would reflect the criteria the op has listed to make the game “fun” my question is; are nurse matches generally believed to be more fun then vs any other killer?

this whole thread seems to be an emotional arguement vs a logical arguement, there is no common ground because no body is discussing anything based off a baseline of agreement.  If you want to argue about something as subjective as “fun” it is pointless, you would be hard pressed to list ANYTHING in life that is fun for everyone all the time.  Which is why people are bringing logical arguements based on current game mechanics that is ignored because you want to talk about feelings, which is fine, it’s not your fault you want a debate on game mechanics from a emotional perspective and no one has been joining you to that end.

I have issues with how many people in disagreement here have lumped together imaginary unquantifiable groups of people and presumed the thought processes of the group they made up.  I guess that’s fair since the groups aren’t real in the first place... but I would suggest everyone stop making generalizations since those opinions are rarely taken seriously by anyone.

despite being entertaining to read from the outside I don’t think there will be an agreement if the only issue that is recognized is that of appeasing emotional states. Just my 2 cents

This topic in this thread is about someone not having fun in dbd cause killers tunnel. You can't really do anything against a killer who wants someone dead cause they will do anything to an extent to kill. Even though like you said that it is not the best tatic to use, not everyone who plays this game is an optimal player and there is no way around it. What you are talking about are things that are deep woven into the game and no reason to complain about them unless you just don't like the game.

Bullshit. Killers do not need to camp/tunnel to get kills, just like survivors don't need looping to escape a chase. You can play this game without doing either and be successful. The problem is the game heavily rewards this nonsense, to the point that it becomes the superior strategy and thus most players end up doing it because it works better (along with being easy, it's quite obvious why these are problems). The mechanics can be fixed and the rewards adjusted so that they are no longer optimal, thus requiring players to have SKILL in order to succeed.

BVHR seems more concerned with minor band-aid changes instead of actually addressing the core issues of the game.

Bro you have told me the same ######### over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I just said that not every killer will ever play optimal cause not all killers that play on this game will ever play at top tier strategy. NOT ALL KILLERS WHO PLAY DBD PLAY OPTIMALLY>>>

Straight from the horse's mouth. True says himself that camping is "easy mode". A lot of killer mains seem to be under the impression I don't know what the killer is doing. I do. He is playing more optimally with less risk. What I am saying is that you should not reward killers that play like this and ONLY like this, because it promotes unhealthy gameplay, and is outright abuse of game mechanics. And in case you missed before, YES, looping is also abuse of game mechanics and should be fixed.

None of this type of bull ######### should be acceptable in the game.

This is also why I respect True as a killer. Besides being pretty damn good he doesn't resort to easy tactics straight off the bat. If pushed to it, by a toxic survivor or SWF, or just a bad game, yes he does it and I don't fault him. But he also takes a LOT more risk than most killers would ever take and still comes out on top because he's actually a good killer. He takes those chances because they pay off. These players that do nothing but camp/tunnel do none of that. They just follow a formula that's almost guaranteed to benefit them. No skill involved here.

Yeah what you are on about is game mechanics and if you don't like the game you can't do anything about it sadly.

  • @Brady said:
Hold on, are Killers really calling tunneling a valid tactic then going on about how pallet looping takes no skill?

Let us spill the tea folks.

I would like a lengthy explanation on how skill is provided from wacking an injured survivor unhooked less than 12m away from you. From my experience play as a Killer, unless the survivor is hooked right infront of you, there's is no reason to chase them back down again and ignoring every single survivor in your path just to kill off one. Many of skillful Killers I've played against optimize switching targets and usually down and hook them, causing more of a stop to the progression of the game. Not to mention, multiple hooks on multiple survivors scream skill more than multiple hooks on only one survivor or vice versa (Multiple survivors hooked once).

"But... they are the easier target. Why wouldn't I go after them?" Here's your answer: Assuming they have Self Care, that is time that a generator is not being worked on. Time that if you're skilled enough, they get on a generator and the other survivor should about to be hooked. And the process should continue on.

Why do you all whine victim? It's established that tunneling, camping, and looping are all effortless tactics. The worst part is you ALL defend them and whine about them at the same time. Both parties want easy games and you guys are getting selfish, rude, and greedy about it. 4 BNPs = No skill, Tunneling an injured survivor = poor skill, looping around 5 pallets after another = less skill. Stop defending these poor tactics because they have great results.

And Survivors are really guilty for it, but it's more present with Killers of the fact that you guys complain about survivors tactics and abilities and go on to defend your effortless ones. You guys attack people who are 50/50 Survivor and Killer, and this entire forum is just complaining about complaining about the people complaining.

It is every game though. That's what you don't get, EVERY GAME I have to just let someone die on the hook. If the guy ends up dying by the end of the trial I don't care. I've left survivors to bleed out for 2 minutes so I can take the hatch. I get this part of the game. What I'm saying is that killers should not be able to just get easy kills because they don't have enough brains cells to rub together to actually get some skill in the game.

So you say you have to let the survivor die when you want to save them which is a bummer to you. Than you say right after that you don't care that they die at the end? That kind of goes against what you have been saying. (I'm not referring to your whole "everyone has to have fun argument that you have been talking about..") Not everyone will live like @Orion has said multiple times.

Also since you keep referring to this "everyone should be having fun", how are you measuring levels of fun times? Do you ask every single person in your matches "Have you been having fun game" If you aren't than clearly you are assuming that these players are not having a fun time. If you are not having a good time than don't spread negativity in this way cause it doesn't make any sense.. @Lowbei @RemoveSWF @Orion @EpicFailTryHard

I don't want the survivor to die because that means it will be a really ######### game. It means I'm going to have probably let someone else die too, and it means I'll be racing the other survivors to do gens. It means if I make a single mistake against the killer I'm dead. I don't care if they die if it was a good game and I have a chance to escape. I do care if they die and then the rest of the game is just a chore because I'm literally just doing skill checks for the next 3 minutes until I can escape. There is just nothing fun about playing against this very common and rather easy tactic. Death, escape, pip, no pip, he dies, you die, I die. I want a good game that doesn't feel like something I'm just stuck dealing with for the next X minutes until I escape or die.

than clearly this game isn't for you..

OH PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? Please because when the killer tunnels/camps there is no "adapting". There is "go do gens because you can't ever save this person". Adapting to a killer would require some actual skill on the killers part for me to play around. But when they are bad, they just sit by the hook. I have no options but gens and hiding. Wow, look at me go adapting to this amazing strategy.

If you were a smart survivor you actually can take a hit for the person still being chased to put less pressure on him and more on the killer. Maybe you should respond to my longer post I had to say about similar situations..

I did respond. It doesn't work. BBQ doesn't encourage killers to leave the hook like people say. Borrowed Time doesn't work because killers continue to chase the guy anyway. Taking a hit and drawing attention away doesn't work because they still just end up ignoring you. Then killers complain about gen rush, bro I'm only doing gens because you won't leave the hook. I'd be happy to stop doing a gen and go unhook/heal that guy if you'd leave.

Dude I've been flat out slugged by a kill while they tunneled the guy I just unhooked. NO TELL ME AGAIN HOW I'M SUPPOSED TO SAVE THE GUY IF THE KILLER DOES NOT EVEN CARE ABOUT A FREE HOOK?!

Well than how did that survivor get on the hook in the first place. They most likely made a mistake to get in that situation which means that the killer took that opportunity to capitalize on the survivors mistake. If that survivor was actually decent maybe he wouldn't have been caught out by the killer and not on the hook. Now would it be a fun game for the killer to not get any hooks at all and just chase people around loops the entire game? Cause that is what I think of when I think of a bad killer. A killer who can't actually kill people.

On the old system this would be an excuse, but killers can pip without killing a single survivor. I know I've done it. Not saying it was the most fun game, but they all got away and I still pipped.

No I want the game to REWARD GOOD KILLERS, and PUNISH BAD KILLERS.

Right now, because of how EASY it is to camp/tunnel someone, the game rewards bad killers. Like I said before you can tell a good killer from a bad killer when they chase you and how much map pressure they keep. I've played plenty of killers (not always Billy or Nurse) that are REALLY GOOD and do not camp/tunnel, yet still walk out of the game with 3k or 4k and likely a double pip.

And like I said before. Maybe you should read what I had to say about your initial post..

    Benefits to tunneling:

    * Kill somebody faster, which decreases generator progression and lengthens game time (a problem in the current meta).
    * They're also injured after being unhooked, making them faster to down and increasing pressure on the map faster.

    Cons to tunneling someone:

    * None

    Benefits to not tunneling someone:

    * Uhh... survivors might be less salty?

    Cons to not tunneling someone:

    * Have to chase after healthy survivors, which can take considerable amounts of time in some cases
    * Hooking someone new gives them another 2 minutes before they die, relieving pressure on the map for survivors relative to getting the other guy

    Benefits to camping:

    * Survivor acts as a bait, luring in new victims to your location
    * You control the area, meaning chases will be shorter if you broke/disabled looping spots and pallets here
    * You ensure (at least!) one survivor is not doing anything for extended periods of time

    Cons to camping:

    * The others can rush generators unhindered

    Benefits to not camping:

    * You can occupy another person off generators IF you find them
    * IF you catch someone else, you can potentially increase map pressure

    Cons to not camping:

    * Your hooked survivor can be rescued immediately, relieving any pressure you worked to get almost instantly
    * If you don't find or catch anyone fast enough, you're back chasing/finding one survivor while up to three other survivors work generators. It's basically like you restarted the game, but the survivors have less generators to do, putting you at a disadvantage.

    - You can be forced to go to other pallet-dense parts of the map in chases away from where you caught the first guy.

Tunneling and camping are actually really effective in this meta, honestly.

The same can be said for looping. Its a perfect way for a survivor to waste a killers time and possibly escape the chase, when the killers are faster, amd have 1 hit downs and moris. As ive said before stop being one sided. Both make the game unfun for others.

You have to adapt and play differently against killers.. that is the point of the game

  • @Orion said:
No, Killers will not play in a way that benefits you just so you're not punished for your mistakes. Adapt or die. Your choice.

Indeed you need to adapt to how a killer plays. That is the point in the game xD

  • @thesuicidefox said:
Last 2 days, every game, rank 2 survivor. Killer tunnels the first guy he finds TO DEATH. Then he does it to the next one, and the next one, and so on. I can understand when a killer feels the need to play defensive or secure a kill if they are behind, but this has been right at the start of the EVERY game, when 0 gens are done and Ruin is still up. I've even unhooked someone with Borrowed Time, TOOK A HIT, and the killer stills tunnels the guy on the hook. Mind you I'm injured before BT even procs on the other guy. I'm literally saying to the killer "chase me instead" but no, they flat out ignore me. Sometimes they slug me and don't come back.

This kind of bull ######### needs to stop. Killers need to stop defending this type of behavior. It takes absolutely NO skill but is so insanely rewarding to the killer if survivors are not optimal (which is like 95% of the player base). Then those same killers call "gen rush" when they get that actually is optimal and try to make themselves look like the victims. I'm not saying killers have it easy, I play killer too I know it can be frustrating. But dear God in heaven, CHASE OTHER PEOPLE. Just commit to the chase you coward. Stop hovering around every single hook, stopping hitting someone else to start a chase only to immediately run back to the hook once you get them outside of 30m.

The devs need to balance survivors, but they also need to make it so that killers can not play like absolute trash and get rewarded as much as they do. Killers should be REWARDED for playing offensively, and PUNISHED for playing defensively. Do that and playing killer will not be as frustrating, and then survivors don't have to deal with this kind of bull ######### every game and have no way to stop it.

    1. As a survivor you can't tell a killer how to kill people. They are your enemy not your friend. If he doesn't want to chase you or pick you up, it means that the killer is trying to pull off a specific type of strategy that they think will work. If you disagree with that strategy, than why complain as the survivor. If anything if you disagree with how they play, that means that you think that they do not play as optimally. Which means that the game should be easier for you..

For your example you provided: when that killer hits you than goes for the other survivor. It gives him more time cause you would have to heal yourself while the other person is getting chased which means you would not be on a gen. This gives more time to the killer.

    1. There is no bullshit here. Killers can play the way they want to play or you wouldn't have any killers at all. So the killer shouldn't be rewarded for the way they play?? What if I told you as the survivor that you shouldn't stay near pallets or windows all the time... You can't tell killers how to play and not look at it the other way around too.

    2. You should be rewarded for both offensive and defensive plays. If you know how to kill, you can win offensively. Since every survivor plays differently, you can't always win a game playing offensively. What is the point of playing defensive if you should get punished for it?? What is the "bullshit" you keep referring to.. That killers actually want to kill a survivor?

  • @Krueger1428 said:

Is it just me or are almost all the hitboxes in this game extremely inconsistent? With the length of lunges being so far and each killer's weapon being a different length, it feels more often that not that I shouldn't have gotten hit when I do. The thing that gets to me the most is that almost EVERY time I vault a window I get hit even AFTER I'm fully over it, when the killer's weapon trails a few feet behind me. Have they said anything about this? It's seriously awful.

From a standpoint of it not connecting sometimes or barely, it does suck cause it can happen even when latency is a thing. Most of the times I get weird hits are when my connection to the host is not 100%.

Other than that I never really run into bad hit box hits. The hit box on self care does get bigger still.

This has happened a couple times to me, and I always either made a bad play or there really is no play to make at this point. Should I just find the hatch and abandoned my team?

Some of this depends on the Killer of course, but is there any general rule of thumb I should be following in a situation like this?

It really depends on the positioning of the survivors too.

I had a situation where three people on the floor and I am injured. The killer picks someone up to put on hook and I go to heal someone off the ground. They get chased after I get them up and I get both other teammates back into the game. You can play it smart.
