Thank you all for answering I love the variety of play styles here <3
-
Out of both I would say DH is better. Though if the new killer The Blight at the time of writing this is changed from first day PTB into something more scary I could see Lithe being more useful during transitions since this Killer is really good at stopping transitional kiting, not exactly looping. That is just my thoughts.
-
The amount of times I run into groups that play like the way you are thinking is very little. You have to remember most people suck at this game and it would be very unfun for majority of people if you drastically brought up every killer or added another killer without buffing survivors to compensate. Identity V can have hunters/killers with actual crazy abilities because the survivors actually have tools to fight back against such strong powers. If Dead By Daylight survivors are going to just have simple items and nothing besides the current perks to put distance between them and the killer than I don't see anything changing anytime soon. Only thing you could do is update older perks to have more playstyles for both sides.

You know he could have ended the game multiple times by not picking up the slugs or not picking up claud who had ds and pick up david instead. Like so many places he could have ended the match so don't use this to cry.

I have 2500 hours as Huntress dud
So nothing has changed at all then, nice.
I didn't mean the whole time she has been out.. was saying the relevancy of a recent patch

What happened to Huntress, what?
nothing has happened, just map design doesn't usually favor a huntress player currently. That does not mean you will suck on every map. There are tricks for every map if you wanna learn them as you play. Just some maps are brutal to her play style while others favor it just like any other killer.

That is correct, both sides never play 100% optimally, but I was more touching up on the fact that Tru3 tends to be outspoken about his opinions and due to his influence as a big player in Dead by Daylight he has a lot of power to give proper thought out opinions and create discussions on how the game should be. But he tends to be emotionally driven at the same time which creates situations where he is being 100% biased towards killers without even thinking about survivors which is generally the problem I have with him. I do think in that scenario of him playing the Plague does put her power on display considering he made a lot of mistakes but the survivors in that scenario paid more for their mistakes compared to Tru3 while being at red ranks.
But I do see where you're coming from when I stated that certain killers can be overpowered in some situations. I do agree with you though that I do get thrills out of certain games and the matches can be really intense and close and hard fought, for me most of the time as survivor I'd be happy if at least one person escapes, sometimes I don't mind straight up losing as a survivor if the match was hard fought on both sides but this is becoming more and more rare as the game balance shifts drastically and issues not being addressed.
yeah I would just say that if you are looking for a balanced competitive game, this game isn't really for that. It can be competitive, but there are so many variables to consider. Now I am not saying that you can't play this competitively at all, but a lot of stuff depends on how a player can play. If you play against survivors who know maps inside out optimally make decisions depending on which killer you are playing and the map, goodluck. Same for the other side. I would talk about tru3 more, but I don't think it will help the discussion and just take it off on a tangent. Most perks that people don't like to run usually are because they are situational perks. You don't get much use out of them unless in those situations. While for instance people like to run borrowed time cause you are most likely to get your borrowed time to go off in matches vs. unbreakable during a match. That is why killers in specific situations can be overpowered cause it depends on what decisions were made during the game to get to that point in time.
-
@Cyro your point about tru3 is correct, but it doesn't mean killers are op in some situations. You are using examples of him making mistakes. That shows that both sides never play 100% optimally. Therefore even though what you say is true about that video of tru3's, you can't use it in an argument for killer's are overpowered in some situations. This is also dependent on like you say how the survivors play. There are way to many variables. I am also not saying your opinion is wrong at all, if you personally have experienced games where the killer has no counter play at all, you have the right to your opinion. You also have to remember the positives that come out of the matches as well. Sometimes you will be paired against a group when killer that make the match intense and interesting cause both sides give the same amount of mistakes which can make it interesting to watch. Compared to the killer never making mistakes and the survivors making mistakes. You know who is going to win and vice versa. Those games where you barley outplay your opponent as well are highlights.
I hope this makes some sense for what I am trying to say. Hope you have a good day/night
-
If you don't want to play hatch finding mini game than you can just let the last survivor escape out of the match and move onto the next one for more points.
-
@Elementres I feel that but now keys have a purpose for solo play to help you for sure to get out if played correctly
-
@FrostBîte There was a post about two new status effects coming into the game during this next upcoming update. These two status effects will buff killers that are silent: Pig and Ghostface are good examples of this. One status effect will make it so aura reading will not detect these killers aka OoO. Though your idea is interesting.

Well that's the main issue , 90% of the time, latency helps killers.
you aren't wrong, but the other times I have seen survivors who gain distance from lag from their poor connection to a host as well. As above dedicated servers will be a blessing <3
-
It isn't always about pips, nor about points. Some players want to be a killer and not let anyone escape the match alive. Everyone has their own opinion on what is boring. I personally thing mori's make the matches boring but that is my opinion and I don't care as much as to whether mori's leave or stay in the game. So slugging someone to get two confirmed kill can be boring for some, but other players might not mind it cause they run unbreakable knowing killers might do this.
-
Depends on how much ping you had going into the match. Also should be better once dedicated servers come out.
-
I remember the devs during a live stream a while back before the spirit came out that they were looking into reworking kindred into a completely different perk and making kindred a baseline for all survivors for the killers aura near the hook. Now I don't know what numbers would be a great balance, but Identity V uses this for a baseline and really helps out solo players.
-
Or instead of kicking a generator you go apply pressure by chasing a survivor
-
I can go the whole game without kicking a generator and do just fine.
-
You can get them in the mystery boxes

Something I see more and more with these forums is the amount of censorship that goes on closing a post with 59 upvotes and 2 downvotes that's pretty fishy not to mention I am pretty sure some of the forum rules are so vague that they can ban anyone for anything.
Could depend on what happened in the rest of the post afterwards. Maybe the thread got off topic into an area that shouldn't be said

Pretty sure the collapse is being introduced to discourage survivors from staying in and making killers wait for them to leave. Also it can help against people denying BW with killers being able to open the gate and in the case that someone's trolling and playing hide and go seek instead of opening doors, you can open them yourself and make them leave.
Yes this was the intended purpose. Some people think it should be killing survivors when it is to help prevent people holding games hostage. It is a quality of life change more than an end game change

There is a bug that prevents grabs, at least 100% of the time for me.
And really? Preventing grabs just because of a add on? It's not like you grab them during the phase itself.
I don't play a lot of Spirit myself, however, I would agree with switching Prayer Bead's rarity with Father's Glasses or something. Sure it really wouldn't change much in the grand scheme of things, but at least the rarity would have it make sense.
But honestly, no, Prayer Beads should just keep the no sound emission with no drawbacks.
When she was released prayer beads did not do what they do now which is why they made them purple even though they were utter garbage on her launch. People saved them up cause why use them if they sucked so bad. They changed how they worked and now are one of the most used addons for her cause of how strong it is. I don't think you need to do anything to it. Just be aware of where spirit is on the map. Grass can help you if you see it move and you can tell when she phases cause of the glass crackles
-
@TheBean DBD should look at how Identity V has handled their disconnects. You have morality points and if you lose them all you can't play for a certain period of time. Also the only way to dc in that game is to close the game completely. I have been playing that on pc as of late getting instant ques and not having anyone disconnect from my games. You can also surrender on survivor side if everyone is on the floor or as killer once the exit gates are powered.
-
@TheBean If people are leaving match, dedicated servers won't do anything to fix that since people can press ESC key than press "Leave Match"
-
interesting take on it, would be used a lot more than it currently is. I don't think it would be OP either, would make people second guess using a locker unless it is the only way to avoid the killer.
-
@Bbbrian2013 well hope that it gives faster matches. Even if it pairs me with closer players doesn't mean the matchmaking will match me right away if everyone around me is rank 10-12 and I am rank 1 for killer. Or if I am rank 2 survivor I have to wait in a rank 1 killer lobby for 15 mins until matchmaking knows there aren't any others in my region that is a red rank. These are just examples that could happen, but I can't predict the future and it is my own opinion.
We don't know why these crashes are happening, only BHVR knows why. I don't mind waiting for a game (to a certain extent) as long as everyone can actually play the game at one point is my bigger concern.
-
The OP is talking about a high risk/reward strat against her. If no one cleanses yes everyone can be m1 once for down. If no one makes a mistake the plague can't do anything and is a killer that can be looped having nothing to down the survivors besides her m1.
@tehshadowman33 please confirm if I understood what you said.
-
You aren't the only one, I know some friends who only play this game and don't wanna leave the game.
-
@TheBean what is the point in having Dedicated Servers if people take forever to get into games and crash once they are in games. You could say that the servers would stop crashes, but that is 4 months down the road from now.
-
I am not sure about hag, but I know with pig dash you do not get a stack if you are hit by the pigs dash.

I meant the current Legion we have now.
As for my overhaul, I am thinking of ways to have balance without being op. Susie and Joey would be the only ones to have Feral Frenzy, but it'd be the same stats as of now.
The only thing this current Legion needs is what I stated. The devs wanted this killer to be a hit and run type, but they failed in giving them the speed/duration to do that. Which is why people exploit them.
I also hope the Pin add ons get reworked -.-
It would be fun to play against and yes these button ad-dons need to be refreshed clean as a whistle.
-
I knew they were changing the EAC in the 2.6 update so I took off my custom icons. I still see people are using them after the update, so I know EAC has not detected those.

I agree with some of what he says in the video. The matchmaking is pretty bad and the piping system right now is just awful. However, I wouldn't say these are the biggest issues right now. Players who DC are currently, imo, the biggest issue plaguing DBD right now.
Also, finding a game on PS4 is pretty easy. Just take a bit of time as a Survivor since a LOT of people are not playing Killer right now.
Yeah I agree that dc's are the biggest issue rn, whether it is loading crash, game crash, or just dc's in general. What is the point in a playing a game when you don't have a full team to play with or go against.

@Hoodied said:
How can you fix players Disconnecting by closing the app?
None of us can fix it on BHVR can
-
Why I have stepped away from the game until it gets resolved cause I don't wanna wait 20 mins for a game to get 3 people in a game and one person leaves right when the game starts due to a crash/just leaves the game.

@Zanfer Its one less person to deal with at least.
Not exactly. If the person loves the game so much they will do anything to get back on the game. You can make a new account, have a vpn, use a proxy, live in a new house with a new wifi, use console if banned on pc. Ochido is a prime example of this and people always figure out ways on how to get around a ban. I have never been banned, but there are many people who love this game that would do anything to get back on it.
-
@TheBig_BadPig said:
@Zanfer Reporting people like this and hopefully getting them banned helps stop other people from dealing with these poor excuses of human beings.
Banning this person will not help. There are many people from around the internet that will jump into this game especially if the game is for free. There is a never ending wave of people who don't care about what they say online. Reporting these people will help sensitive people feel safe on a game, but does it real solve any problem? In the end it doesn't.
-
If you report someone for something like this, you have not been on the internet long enough. Have been called way worse things off of a video game and know that they can't touch me in reality in any way shape or form. This person will never change the way they act online. If you are super disgusted from what they say I would advise you to stay away from post match.
-
I had to stream Identity V Killer yesterday cause I was not about to wait 40 mins for a killer game yesterday so glad this one is back

Freddy of course needs love. ANd all Leatherface needs is for his add ons to actually mean something.
The only change, the only REAL change Legion needs, is a longer and faster base Feral Frenzy. With add ons to compensate for it. I honestly feel like a proximity would actually make the situation worse, because I know how people could exploit it. Since it'd become a built in whispers. Plus the chase starting would make things even more confusing. Sometimes I enter a chase and I'm like 'Wait, there is a person here?' And I end up wasting my time.
Yeah true. Built in whispers could be annoying was just trying to think of something on the spot. Also you want legion to have longer and faster feral frenzy since the only one who can break pallets is Joey? The issue that people have with legion is you get outskilled by a killer who has really fast cooldown on missed attacks and really good tracking will always get you hit by frenzy every time. Making the killer go faster with the power will just be more annoying and harder to get away from the current state it is in now.
-
Yeah of course I am not saying "They shouldn't do it". The problem is there are lots of things that break whenever this game updates. The devs have to spend time on a variety of issues that occur whenever a new killer comes out. Trying to make AI work functional in this game with a lot of variables is difficult. For example: AI idle animations might get stuck in specific objects. Dropped pallets, might get stuck going through windows, etc. Any interaction this AI might do will cause at least one or more bugs when completed. It will take a while, but I also wanna see some love to Freddy too. People say Leatherface needs an overhaul, but I like him the way he is imo.
I am all for a legion change to make him more fun. In my opinion they just need to fix the chase mechanic cause that is the only way half of the legion players down me is by barley looking away and downing you. When the chase mechanic is fixed to where chase would start in x meters away even when the killer isn't looking at you (this would be vertically so if the killer is on the ground and someone is on a second story than the chase would not go on. (This is just a simple change to chase, but I know they can do better than this)
-
Some billy players go as far as to learn how to curve with billy making him come around corners a lot more scarier. Also I like how the OP said all of the negatives with the killer, but not even one positive about this killer.
-
Devs would need AI for the ultra rare addons which has never been done before which would take a super long time to develop
-
Yeah I made a post back thanking the devs for the good things this game brings and the dynamic this game has. We will see what is in store for the future and can't wait for servers in August :D
-
@The_Crusader It is possible, but the game has to be a lot longer in order for it to happen. The killer would need to kick the gens and regress the gens. Survivors would all have to encounter the killer in some fashion and get chase points. Altruism of course and escaping. Depends on what rank area you are talking about, but I am using red since it is the hardest rn.
@GT_Legend2 I posted my response to this topic in a different thread if you wanna check it out: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/52631/a-possible-future-with-this-new-rank-system#latest
-
As for Killer I have been doing fine with pipping in red ranks. The only time you won't get a pip is if people die on hook. Most of the time that results in a safety pip if you play it right. As for survivor, it needs to go down a little bit for red definitely. Most of the time you will safety pip as a survivor. I don't think the game should punish you for going against a killer that couldn't keep any pressure all game. It can make people lose a pip since there could have been no altruism or they get chased all game, but don't do a single gen either. De pip for going against a worst killer can just pair you up more likely with worst killers.
Right now matchmaking is weird as we have all seen pairing you up if you are a red rank killer to green rank survivors or vice versa. It is still early and will see where I am in a week, but I can say right now something needs to be changed for survivors. (Killer main)
-
The problem is when everyone stealth plays with 1 gen left the game takes way to long and someone usually has to take a hook for the team to give enough time to finish the last gen. Now if the gens are across map from each other than this does not apply (if the stealth players finish their gens optimally). I have a friend who loves the stealth play cause she does saves and gens really well, but just doesn't like the chase aspect of the game. She even has 1000 + hours and just does it for fun. Whatever is fun for the player is what will keep them in a specific play style. I wouldn't say that all players don't stealth, but the argument of saying that there are less and less stealth players as time goes on is true.
-
I don't know any streamer who cares so much to get into a game right away. If they do than that is their choosing..
-
The new DS does not say that the chances of being the obsession are increased. If it does say that than it is wrong. You will only become the obsession when you hit DS now
-
@Heroiq umm your step number 7 will not work anymore next patch since there will be a delay before you can drop a survivor on the floor and also you can't spam r for flashlight saves anymore either for next patch.
