Don't take Self-Care or don't rescue when the Killer is right there. Both of these are (temporary) fixes.

Established that sprinting into the unhook grants it even when standing still

    IT's called borrowed time>

Also @ OP, I've never had this problem, so I assume the advice of people saying press W when making the save will be helpful.

Yes I think they are right and I will keep this in mind more often when unhooking

Of course you didn't need to say the last part anyone with a brain knows that. Talking about the unhook action should be priority and people have already said sprint toward the unhook after getting hit right at the hook to make sure it unhooks..

Hag is pretty good problem is that she is a defensive killer, you pretty much put traps around things you want to defend like totems, hooked survivors, generators. In many regards she is a camping killer, you do need detection perks like whispers and bbq to be effective with her.

and why is that a problem?

sometimes it's not fun to just keep putting traps around totems and gens hoping they spring them. She's entirely reliant on survivors to make mistakes and to be altruistic or totem hungry. Hag is like my 2nd most played killer but I have the least fun with her since each match is I get a trap on my ruin, down a survivor, trap survivor, then just watch them fall like dominos, or they bust ruin quick, gen rush, I might get 1 survivor tunnel killed, then I get a 1-2k from noed and these games last less than 3 mins.

Placing them at gens can be good when it gets down to 2 or less gens, but don't do it above that. Unless you already have full map control it isn't worth setting them since they can crouch into working on the gen. Place them in pathways to gens or popular pathways that survivors like to run. Or while walking around looking for people always set traps for future chases. I do quite fine with her personally, but you don't so there could be a difference in playstyle.

This is my main reason for not wanting to play Hag. That gameplay loop doesn't interest me and the notion I've seen from countless Streamers and YouTube personalities (pre Hag buff) is that you basically have to play defensively to get any value out of her.
I do again mention Trapper because most streamers and YouTubers pushed the notion of Trapper taking too long to set up and while that is still largely the case the buff did go a long way to lower the set up time and increase the time spent using your power to its full strength. I don't know if Hag still has to fall into the loop of "me camp hook", "me camp gen", "me three gen strat" etc. like Trapper still has to with "me spend half the game trapping loops" or if she does truly have more options like Hag mains say she does.

over exaggeration doesn't mean anything. Trapper doesn't trap things for 4 mins total. You could maybe make that argument for hag, but she places them so quick it doesn't even feel like you place traps anymore.

Healing has a higher animation priority in general. If a dying survivor is under the hook aswell you will start healing him instead unhooking

yeah I don't think they will ever do anything with it, but it can cost the game sometimes. Yet if it becomes that situation it is the survivors fault anyways..

  • because timing the stuns are not even hard so making it brain dead simple is annoying and not fun to play around

What is the percentage of competent swf cause I would like to know the stats on that. If you claim a killer has to be top tier to deal with a group, knowing how much of that group is in the game would also have to be a factor to consider..

Doesnt matter how often a competent SWF will appear.
We talk about tiers here and nurse is without doubt ALONE on the top tier

Not arguing that nurse is top tier. We all know that. It is a good question though how many competent swf can you run into? I guess a lot of variables are there so it is very hard to actually know. Makes sense why you don't know though

You didnt have enough time to collect vials? Lol, not our problem!

    Thoughts?

The devs did mention killer ques and that they were from the event specifically and said that in the future they are going to find a way to fix it for future events. They did take feedback for negative things about the event and are going to reflect on them. They never told specifics cause they don't have to. Addressed that they got negative feedback with also positive feedback that is it. They did state these things. As for the console bug you are right they did not mention this at all.

Then they should have made blight outfits for every killer instead of just a few. Im not gonna spend the points on a killer I'm not gonna use

They already explained recently in their stream today why they couldn't make them for other killers. First was because the smaller killers were harder to show the transformations they were going for. Most of these transformations included muscles which all 5 of the killers do have muscles, taller, and bigger for less detailing issues. Licensed killers are under an agreement to not change them unless they have permission from the license owners of that killer. DBD did not get any rights to add cosmetics to them for this event so those killers never got cosmetics and most likely will never get cosmetics. From what I heard the only licensed holder that seemed willing to work with DBD in the past well was Micheal Myers holder.

The Pig - Instead of making the Jig Saw boxes a RNG mechanic. Simply make them a finite recourse for Survivors to use. If the Pig gets 4 Traps by default then let there only be 3 Jig Saw boxes on the map and if they're used up? Well then they cannot be used again by other survivors.

The Jigsaw's way of 'killing' people was giving them a chance to get out of any situation. It was the choice of the person and if they choose wrong they would die. Not having another box goes against what the pig is. The other person needs another way to get the helmet off. Also only having 3 boxes would make it even easier for them to take the trap off. As you take them off they should still be used by other survivors since it will waste them more time if that box doesn't have their key.

You say that. But her first go around she has to murder a random person to get the hat off. Doesnt seem like he gets much of a "Choice" when it comes to that.

Besides, the current method doesnt have a choice either. Its a RNG run around of "As long as the Pig doesnt tunnel me. Then Im fine"

It is like any other killer, if you get found tough luck. Figure a way how to juke or buy as much time as you can. My point still stands that the last person still should have a choice of getting the key to take the trap off. As said above it goes against what jigsaw is all about.

The RNG you talk about is still a choice. You have to CHOOSE the right box to get the trap off. If you CHOOSE the wrong boxes than you get punished with wasting time or potential death. It is still a choice you make and you can get the helmet off at the right box. You shouldn't be told which box the key is in cause that defeats the purpose of 'the game'.

Survivor have these weird doublestandards which come from the wrong assumption that the killer is the powerrole of the game and would not need to use all the tools available.

Survivor "need" to use every cheesy crutch they can get, but killer should play "fair" and give them extra chances.

This is far from the truth, but they either don't get it or deny it even if they know it.

And Killers have a victim complex. They act all "woe is me" acting like they have it so hard and how survivors need nerfs and how they're honourable nice killers and they want everyone to get along and not be toxic.

Then you get games where 2/3 people spawn in and the killer still tunnels the hell out of everyone and causes hatch stand offs.

Really? 2 people disconnect early, and when it comes down to the final person you're still going to cause a hatch standoff? How desperate are you for a 4k.

Then we've seen their true colours from this event. Pulling people off plants for easy kills, people giving up on hooks but killers still tunneling the hell out of the few remaining survivors, hags trapping plants.

They get healing changes too to slow down the game. Good right? So what happens? They just tunnel harder and continue to cry that gens get done too fast.

Survivors need cheesy crutches? And I guess killers facecamping and then using NOED to clean up the rest is a legit strategy though right?

This victim narrative needs to end. Killers can be as dirty and toxic as the survivors they face.

Survivors don't need nerfs. But there are certain things that need to be removed from the game. Kneeling in front of a hook should not stop me from hooking, that's dumb. Bodyblock me from getting there at your own risk, but this tactic is similar to crawling under a window and juking a killer to make him vault, IMHO. It's a time burner that's an oversight in game code that hasn't been fixed (but is listed as a reportable offense? dumb...)

so if the survivor stands under the hook is that fine instead of crouching?

Maybe grow up and say WHY you disagree?

Because he wants to keep the god pallet ofc. No need to write anymore, everyone understands that survivors prefer god loops instead of the nerfed versions as in the suggestion

In my opinion, God pallets should be special since they guarantee the killer to break it. Survivors should know what loops are safe and use them wisely, having too many God pallets will make survivors more stronger. This change is great, it helps balanced landing and it makes God pallets less likely to spawn in which can either make the survivor play more stealth (which is how Dead by Daylight should be played since KILLERS are supposed to easily be able to 1v1 a survivor)

If people see that window spawn and not have balance landing they are just going to use god pallet up anyways

  • If the window spawns above the stairs and you jump down it if the killer is coming from the god pallet side toward outside to the window they can easily cut back into the shack. If you run the other way depending on how far away the killer is you can still get hit. Balance landing would be needed to avoid the second hit easily.

I have seen many threads bashing the game just because they can't unlock certain cosmetics. Time to appreciate the effort that the dev team puts into these updates instead of nit picking every negative aspect about the updates.

Hallowed Blight Event: I love what you guys did what the plants and the hooks. They look super nice and detailed. Definitely makes the environment more spooky with orange glows mixed into it. The skins look very detailed and seems they took a lot of time and creativity to make them.

Recent Patch: Happy to see they fixed deliverance since it was bugged and changed up some old perks to make them more usable with different purposes. Glad they shrunk the swamp maps down cause those maps were pretty big on their own. Happy they are spacing out hooks to make it more fair for survivors and always revisiting old maps to update the pallet allocations.

This company is always looking at everyone's feedback and trying to fix bugs and situations as fast as they can. They are not robots they are human like most of us.

    agree, totally agree with you

Guys I just found threads over threads crying about how you can't get everything for free or more for free. You know bhvr isn't blizzard right? You know they are a company and the videogame is first a product?

They have to pay their people like anyone else, remember videogames is an industry and especially right now a bad choice can lead to the failure of a software house. Just look telltale, out of nowhere got closed for low profit. Instead I'm grateful I can see they actually care about the game and improve it, give more stuff by paying means show support the game. They release free stuff here and there, how many Devs do that? Just look at league of legends, since its famous you might know it. No skin is free, none, nada, nulla, nothing.

If I had something more I would gladly give them some money so instead of being greedy try to be in their shoes and remember video's are products, they love their own product and try their best to make everyone happy which is rare lately if you look around

Yeah this game would have been dead a while ago if it weren't for the dlcs. The more money you put into a game the more content you can receive in future updates since they are constantly hiring new people all the time. They have people who look over bans now and who are designated to making the events only.

I'm not posting around crying about how I can't get all 7 outfits for free.

That isn't what I'm about. I'm complaining about how a 13 day event is giving us little grind to unlock 3/21 pieces.

It just seems lackluster. The event, the ideas are great, but the rewards are subpar. 6/21?

    Please?

Not everyone would be able to play the event for 13 days straight. Some people might only be able to play for 4 days since some people work all week or have responsibilities during the week. I understand where you come from, but not everyone can be on the game.

What do you appreciate about the game I would like to hear :chuffed:

Yeah but, then they could just buy the skins later as the devs planned? Like as far as I can tell Dwight_Confusion isn't saying, "Make them all grindable, no other way to get them." They're saying, "Let those players who have the time, the patience, or both to grind for more pieces be able to do so."

That's not an unreasonable request. If we're only allowed to grind for 3 pieces through the entire event, and the cosmetics cost say $10 a pop that means if you want the other 18 pieces you have to fork out around $60-180 depending on what cell packs you buy (for Americans at least, idk currency conversions elsewhere)? Isn't that a bit excessive? After they already have so many cash only cosmetics? Especially for an event?

What's the point of even having the event if the amount of stuff you can grind for is so nil? Might as well cut out the middleman and put it all behind a paywall. (I'm not saying there shouldn't be a cap at all btw, I'm just personally saying that 3/21 pieces is a crock of crap)

I'm personally super happy they're not restricting the event outfits to only the event itself, but the potential price point (tbd? Have they said how much cells each set will cost yet?) leaves a lot to be desired. (I realize it could be worse and that they could only sell the outfits during the event itself, so I appreciate the forethought that not everyone would be able to buy them right away)

Edit: @Chrona Nvm, did the math, was initially only calculating for $10 packs only.

I don't think they set the prices from what I know unless someone else knows. I agree though that people do play the game a lot and it should be worth the time to get more skins out of an event. Imo you shouldn't be able to get all of them, but maybe more than one is understandable.

  • Well people who would want to buy the skin. Doesn't matter if it is exclusive or not. A skin is a skin

There is no reason to cap the number of vials that players can earn during the Hallowed Blight event. Why? Because the Event is already capped by TIME. You can't get any more after Nov. 2.

So, this is a significant PR mistake that BHVR is making here. By capping the number of vials that players can earn, they are capping the incentives to continue participating in the event. This, in turn, is already generating some ill-will among the player base. They want to play their little bloody hearts out and be rewarded for it.

Let me guess you play the game already when there is no event. Since this event caps vials you/other players are willing to not play the event anymore after you/other players are done with getting vials even though you will gain more bp during this event compared to not having the event at all? Yet after the event you/other players will continue playing the game? Am I hearing this correct @ScottJund

An event should be a fulfillment experience, beeing able to buy the same skins without having to grind or participate in the event neglects the whole idea of that event really. Players these days, and not only dbd, they need to seperate themself in order to have a sense of achievement. For some players it's skins, for others it's leaderboards, knowing that someone can achieve(buyiing) the same skin as you is basicly a different kind of pay 2 win. Players wanna experience a winning feeling, and grinding a skin that not alot players have can certainly give you that feeling. Even tho alot of ppl are dissapointed, including myself, they are still gonna play but with a mixed feeling knowing it couldve been better.

exactly how buying a skin is pay to win. The skin doesn't do anything to how you play the game.

knowing that someone can achieve(buyiing) the same skin as you is basicly a different kind of pay 2 win. Players wanna experience a winning feeling, and grinding a skin that not alot players have can certainly give you that feeling

How do you even know that people have that skin or not. If people can buy the skin than many people can have the skin. Your logic doesn't make sense there. No win aspect just because you get a skin

What about cosmetics makes the game not a fun experience? I really don't understand why cosmetics and gameplay would be connected.

Apparently fortnite has gotten into peoples heads because apparently if you have this cool looking skin, you are a god now...

I play pig and she has no cosmetic besides her bloody counterpart. Skins mean literally nothing and all of these post about not being able to unlock every skin and hating BHVR for it is pretty sad since it isn't related to game play it self.

So you can purchase them so what, YOU'RE GETTING TO GET THEM FOR FREE !!!!!! The people that're going to be on vacation or unable to play or not able to play enough will be able to buy them in that case. Do any of you complaining about this consider anyone else besides yourselves in this situation, or are you looking at this only from a selfish standpoint?

There's been posts from weeks back from people saying they wouldn't be able to play or hardly at all so they'll not get a chance to all 4 pieces let alone one. By allowing them to be purchased it allows those who can't get them to get them. It isn't all about a cash grab and sure they make some extra money but they also ensure that those who don't get a chance for whatever reason don't get screwed over or feel left out.

    Stop it with your elitism...

The event runs 13 days dude. Stop.

If you don't have time to play in 13 days then you don't have time for anything. Period.

People are just wanting to grind man. It's simple. They want a chance to play for long term rewards at extreme cost of time and success.

We're not asking for every skin to be free. I want to have a chance to play a ton during the greatest season of the year in my favorite game to earn awesome stuff...

    Period.

    It's that simple.

There's no reason why they can't let it be 2 outfits/6 pieces for 30 and then 100 total vials. Why not?

Not everyone is like you who can play the game during the event. I know people who won't have their computer for a good 3 weeks cause they are taking trips to different countries and exploring the world. They have been supporting dbd for over a year. I don't see a problem in them being able to buy one of the skins if they want when they return back home.

So since the most recent update (2.3.0). Has anyone else noticed that when you get hit by a killer with sloppy butcher you vault through windows in slow motion?? All the mangled effects are perminent even when fully healed and there is no indication on your HUD that you are recieving that effect???
    Helpppp

are you sure you didn't get the self-care heal bug? If you are running self-care and heal with a medkit and the medkit goes away you are slowed in every action

Please stop doing this TTnTT it hurts so much.

What @Grandkurama the game is still playable without cosmetics

  • Playing killer will effectively get you the event done quicker so probably killer

The OP already explained why he thinks that it is OP. Try re-reading the original post.

The OP said they don't think the range is necessary, but why is it not necessary is what people are asking

1 2 3 4 5 … 13
