  • Even if swf didn't use voice chat, nothing stops them from typing in a steam group or typing in a message in a 3rd party source. You can't really stop it which is why I don't have arguments for it anymore..

Well all these tipps were quite helpful, but now I reached rank 2 and SWF completely demolish me.

I am forced to take ruin, there is no way to stall the game with slugging or sth like this because they are all SWF anyway.
When i catch one it doesnt matter how I set up traps, they always bodyblock each other and use BT. they even trigger traps for each other such that the injured survivor can buttfuck the infinite again.

At the moment I am desperately avoiding to depip basically, thats all I can do and it makes my quite sad =(

Try running sloppy butcher to make the healing slower, it helps you catch up to the survivors quicker and get even more hits off or make them panic run into your traps..

  • The addons I can agree with you on, however her crouch mechanic is fine. You shouldn't be crouching the whole time as pig even if you are trying to stealth on survivors. If you know survivors are in an area you need to predict where they will be and crouch right before they hear your terror radius for maximum efficiency in walk speed.

  • @palotheas yes hexes do get destroyed easily, but the way the op read out the hex perk makes the perk almost useless since you will probably only get to switch perks maybe once at most twice before it gets destroyed..

  • Only rule is Disconnects. The game is meant to be played without them and a disconnect creates a unfair advantage.

  • @HeyItsNick123andnea said:
    Opposite of Hex: Reality

    Reality: Shuffle game

Every 120 seconds a new roll for a new perk comes along. Able to get whatever perk in the survivor category, grants you the perk from the gamble. 50% chance of getting a common perk, 35% chance to get a uncommon perk and a 10% chance to get a "Rare perk. (I don't know the names of the rarities, I'm just dumb). Just an idea!

How to destroy it: Might sound silly, but the killer needs to have downed 1 survivor and broken 3 pallets.

Breaking 3 pallets: What if the survivors never throw down pallets? If they do throw down pallets, 3 is a pretty small number and downing a survivor usually can happen right away, so I don't know if that is the right way to destroy that..

In 2k hours ive seen quite a few.

However, often its just the killer has a terrible connection, and shouldnt be playing killer at all, thus resulting in lag switch accusations.

if they are claiming you did it, in multiple games, your lag-spikey internet probably isnt good enough to keep queing as killer, but they do anyway and say “well you should have looked at the lobby ping meter” which may wont display a noticable spike in the 60secs of lobby, because most people arent staring at that tiny bar with eyes glued to it for the countdown.

not saying that you did, just giving a common example

Also the ping in lobby can be different the in game ping due to the game actually running at full capacity

But can one of the totems that was HG become NOED if HG was taken out before the gates are powered?

we tested that and yes that does work. That dull totem from the HG will become the noed totem

  • You have to predict where they will crawl too, similar to guessing where the hatch would spawn. You can hear them on the floor too..

The pig, though, does not have an ability that warrants a slower movement speed. She's got a normal lunge, or a long lunge that she can't use in a chase (if she does, she loses enough ground that she will not hit it). As a result, she has a 4.6m/s movement speed since she does not have an additional power in a chase to help her out.

You can use her lunge on small loops if they stay at the loop which is helping in a chase..

You can, but if they notice and sprint away, you lose a lot of ground.

Yupp, but you can bait the crouch come back out of it right away and they run away from the loop losing barley any ground :)

Power Re-work---The problem with Freddy is that his power allows him to hit Survs, no one else needs this power because it's stupid so to fix it we just change the concept a little bit. So with every Surv in the Dream World his power grows, so far we came up with this, Once two Survs are put into the Dreamworld at the same time Freddy crosses over in the real world to hunt Survs like any other killer but is sent back to the Dreamworld once both Survs are woken up. This makes falling asleep scary and something no one wants. Also this puts some strategy into Freddy as well, he wouldn't want those two Survs on the hook because it cause them to wake up and weaken him. Yes this still makes his power only useful to hit people but now it's a lot more cooler.Just judging by this it would make sense for something else to happen if you manage to get all 4 into the Dreamworld at the same time but I can't think of anything other than Exposing them all until they can wake up.

Second we thought that once you are put to sleep Survs should become Exhausted because that makes sense, normally people don't feel energized when they're asleep. Also we think that he should not have a terror radius for Survs when they are awake, it's Lore friendly with the character, it makes sense because he is in another dimension like the Wraith when he's invisible, and once you're falling asleep the Heartbeat can be the song, or just keep the Heartbeat it really doesn't matter.

Add-ons---Nomad came up with these really cool irridescent add-ons, they're workling titles.

Soiled Panties---All Survs start in the Dreamworld
Pristine Boxers---All or 4 Generators are only in the Dreamworld. I like the idea of 4 of them because you can do the first 3 in the real world but to get the last 2 to get out you need to fall asleep, you need to enter the domain of the killer in order to escape. A debuff for this could be his natural aura reading ability being disabled but Perks that allow it can still be used, etc

The Dreamworld---I personally don't like the look of the Dreamworld, it's too dark, I literally had to up the birhgtness of my TV in order to play him. Also Freddy's world is centered around fire and gore so maybe things like that should only appear in the Dreamworld and kind of like making it an actual seperate world. This next part would require work but it would be cool, maybe add things in the Dreamworld that are only in there Dreamworld, like stairways or walls, an easier form would be have two randomized maps just sit on each other but one is for Survs and one is for Freddy until he switches into reality of course.

Anyway if you guys like these ideas please get this out there for the Devs because I know one of them wanted to make him more powerful but couldn't think of anything at the time. Nomad and I thought about these for a while and hopefully the Devs see this or you guys can come up with something cooler.

    1. Your first part doesn't change the style of how freddy plays already. All you did was flip it on it's head which doesn't change anything. Also what if they other survivor wakes up while chasing a survivor that was not in dream state. It would cause a constant loop of not being able to hit the survivor in the real world because you would be pulled back into the dream world. Nice try, but we need another idea here..
    2. The exhaustion makes sense, but does this make going against freddy more fun for both sides like the devs actually want to do with him?
    3. I do admit the addons are cool and I can't wait to see if they actually do change them in the future.
    4. The devs already addressed that they would make the dream world brighter for both sides.

I agree I just believe it may be a good start is all. of course it needs way more. I was just paraphrasing from someone else to start with. I just said they were interesting ideas.

Not saying you did anything wrong, but I like how people are thinking of ideas..

I believe that slugging should be a valid tactic, but I just had a game with an unsportsmanlike Spirit who refused to hook, and even purposely let survivors bleed out. I was the last survivor and just as I was about to reach the hatch, THEN she picks me up and hooks me. She even stood over the door in a taunting manner.

That sort of behavior has never happened to me before and not only is it not fair, but absolutely boring to go through

Just because you think it is fair and boring is your own opinion..

As the killer I do not do that because it is so dull and cheeky. As the survivors its torture because as the downed person there is nothing you can do, I wish there was a way to [BAD WORD] on the ground kind of like letting yourself die on the hook. Slugging around for 4 minutes while the killer just stares at you makes me want to DC; I do not do that, but it is basically as bad as a game can be on the survivor side.

It can be said Unbreakable is there to get the survivor up, but if the killer is standing right there staring at them, that one up is not going to do them much good.

Well it is a tatic and tatic's can work better at certain times than other times..

I never went full slugging until today. had a game where all 4 survs were immediately right on top of me when i downed the first person, so I dropped she crawled into a pallete zone, and so obviously i just screwed with the others. I had all 4 of them down in a probably 16 meter radius. It was ridiculous. I had no sluggin build or nothing. two of em had the perk to heal themselves from dying, So that happened but they didnt wait at all so i was nearly on top of them and put them right back on the ground both times.

I won with 4/4 but it was low point scoring cause it was my first hook on each. I didnt enjoy it. I doubt they enjoyed it. It wasnt my plan but im not gonna pick someone up when all 4 of you are right there @_@ definately one of my weirdest games

when the survivors put themselves in that situation it is nice cause they aren't doing gens.

  • @Rootlo said:
If you blow up a gen then it should be too hot to touch for like 15 seconds forcing you to either wait or go and search for a different gen.

As it is now, if you blow up a gen you only lose 4 seconds. Its not punishing enough, especially since most gens are by windows/pallets so even if the killer does come I can escape easily.

What if the next gen is across map more than 15 seconds away. No need to leave the current gen..

No. There is no opinion. A win in DBD is defined by a pip. Depip is a loss. Safety pip is tie. Double pip is like a flawless victory. There are no other win conditions. Killing and escaping are not wins. Your personal goals do not count as actual wins according the end results screen.

.. Rank matters... Because why should we judge balance from a perspective of lower ranks?

same for why we should judge balance perspective from a higher rank? You should judge it on how the game functions for everyone not just the selected few (aka new people or the experienced players)

ive had friends who will just stand there and do nothing as a killer when they get stuck with a swf group . Mostly its because they are afraid of getting a ban for dropping and just getting the loss over .

Personally if I see 3 or 4 people pop into a room in the same instant I will leave the room . As a killer its easier for me to get a new game then waste my time against swf . Now if people could play at that level without the organization and communication they get from discord then great and I applaud their skill . I don't mind loosing at all as kill or survivor as long as I feel its a fair fight . If their skill is better then mine then kudos to them . Its just swf turns the game into easy mode for survivors with their already mounting perks and flashlights . I just feel that a killer should be feared and not thought of as a minor inconvenience in a game that markets itself as a horror survival game and boast the likes of iconic killers as Myers , Kruger , Leatherface , and Saw . I see it I guess as not showing respect to the legacy of what you used to build your world on , when you make those same icons nothing more then a running joke .

Maybe its fond childhood memories of these icons , I grew up watching them all and I feel like there is anything but respect being paid to them and the original killers as well .

You say killers should be feared when feeling fear is a subjective feeling to the person. The killers themselves can be feared, but the underline issue that you are pointing to is maps/game mechanics..

Before the survivors get all salty at the title, let me state this isn't the typical "wah they finished the gens before I could kill them" QQ. So first, let's address what I am referring to when I say "gen rushing" before we hear the typical, "there is no such thing" argument. Gen rushing is when survivors push generators hard from the beginning of the match and multiple gens are completed within a few minutes. This can be caused by the killer lacking pressure on the map or survivors ignoring everything in order to push the gens. As a killer, when I see 3 gens popped in a few minutes, I get a little frustrated and I think, "wow". As a survivor I think, "okay this is good, but I'll get worthless pips and no points." This is one of the reasons I don't particularly care to play survivor often. What fun is pressing M1 on a generator the entire match?

Is anyone really wrong for doing this? No, I don't believe so. Survivors are just doing their objective and killers may just be getting looped or inexperienced at patrolling gens. I think what it boils down to is survivors have gotten so good and adapted to this game over the years, it has revealed a huge flaw in this game. It needs to be fixed.

So what is there to do about it right now? Killers have a few perks that can sort of help with this. At best, these perks are like an off brand bandaid and they only benefit the killer. Survivors can stop doing their only objective and purposely run the killer around for chase points, but why on earth would they do that?

There have been some creative solutions mentioned over the past couple months I have played. My favorite is adding more objectives in the game or even different game modes. Unique quest can be added in the map that upon completion, could reward the same benefit as escaping would (BPs/pips) and you could even escape after escaping for an even larger bonus. This is just an example of what can be done and my own personal input.

So, I'd like to finish off my QQ with one last thought. This last game I played. Let me say, the survivors did really well. They were very sneaky, pushed gens quick. As far as doing their objective goes, they almost finished the last gen and were potentially very close to escape.

Unfortunately for them, they made a few minor mistakes that I was able to capitalize on. The point of me posting this pic is to point out that they did do well in hiding from the killer and finishing gens. In my opinion, they were not rewarded enough and this is one of the big problems of gen rushing. It's generally a bad game for everyone, not fun and no one gets points.

    Thoughts?

Genrushing is not a thing in the realm where the devs balance the game. Survivors are actually scared in this realm and will move away from gens when they hear heartbeat, they wont stay untli the last second just to zoom away with their sprinburst. Also skillchecks will be failed such that the killer can hinder their progress too.

Loved the old days of DBD, had so much fun with my friends even if we got totally screwed. Nowadays its just a shitshow

That is a very specific situation and not everyone reacts like that

I hate to be one to call someone out, but you've entirely supported my points towards a lack of stealth meta whilst simultaneously complaining about it as if it's the Nurse's fault. The fact these perks (Iron Will, Calm Spirit etc) aren't chosen in the first place, means there is perhaps intention to sustain stealth throughout the game (as always is with arguably most survivors at the moment, me included.) The fact there is a lack of stealth meta is perhaps a large contributing factor to the Nurses current strength (I'm not saying entirely, but it's strong, there are many variables), because, as I previously stated above

the Nurse is weakest, due to the reliance she has on line of sight.

As stealth meta lacks, the Nurse has plenty of room to strive in gameplay is what I'm trying to say. It can't exactly be her fault that the current survivor meta benefits her to a large extent, yet here people are complaining about her strength, not accounting for their gameplay and how it could perhaps be their change which would be more beneficial to their survival, rather than damaging the Killer.

**Oh i agree totally on the lack of stealth meta but then you go stealthy you get doctor and even with calm spirit you still jump up in the air and scream, silently but you're still visible. My point was that some are suggesting that's how you counter nurse is with those perks well you run those and you go against someone else that counters those. You don't know you're up against a nurse at all so to say run those to counter her is disingenuous.
I'd love for a stealth style game but Doctor and current maps among other things make that really difficult. I've run super stealthy builds before and the killer will let 5 gens go just to tunnel and hard camp me. When I'm in games with someone running a super stealthy build the killer tunnels and hard camps them.

The real question is who is harder to face: Nurse or Doctor.. Perks are up to you to choose and if you struggle against doctor more than run perks against doctor cause apparently doctor would be harder than nurse for that individual person. Vice versa for nurse, if the person struggles more against nurses than run perks to help against her if you encounter her.

I read the whole thing and finally someone talked about it in detail. It is like going against other killers. All killers have thier weaknesses and just because you can't loop a nurse, try other things. The examples you gave are exactly what I do to nurses. Line of sight is her biggest weakness so making her have to choose multiple directions vs one will help the survival of (you) the survivor to a greater extent.

!! I'm glad someone knows about it, it feels like it gets ignored a lot of the time, but I may be wrong lol

it gets ignored because most other killers don't suffer heavily from los compared to nurse. Which is why people never do it to other killers and totally forget to do it against a nurse..

The spirit does, she loses all sight :o

That's so toxic." o.0 I commented a light-hearted comment on their profile saying "Apparently Survive with friends is toxic, learn something new every day. xD" To which they replied "Yes the definition of toxic is "someone who makes the game noticeably less enjoyable for other players" when using instant flashlights and skeleton keys against a level 10 killer.." Mind you this killer was rank 6. I didn't use a flash light but my friend did indeed have a key. Going off their explanation of Toxic, then basically without us starting off on the hook we're Toxic, because, Looping, Juking, running away, Slamming is all considered extremely toxic. I thought this would rather amusing and decided to share.

Killers are blamed for tunneling and camping all day because they try to do their job.
Cant really blame a killer for calling SWF toxic now since SWF actually breaks the balance of the game

I wouldn't say SWF breaks the game honestly especially since they are doing more things for solo players to adjust the balance a little like making Kindred supposedly baseline and deleting the perk altogether giving solo survivors more information on the hooks and campy killers and a way to more or less combat multiple people running to the same hooked person somewhat as well. So with this little change survivors will more or less have the same information that an SWF team does when someone is hooked. Having well-coordinated teams always puts people at a disadvantage for sure but to call it toxic I'd have to disagree.

Ah so because the devs suggested to lift solo surivovors up to the SWF level without any compensation buffing killers or nerfing survivors in general, this means SWF does not break the game?

Can you pls elaborate on that, I dont understand that logic

Survivors don't need to be nerfed at all, they vary based on skill levels, you minus the pallets and we basically run into dry spells with no hope of escape unless you're a juking beast, they are somewhat nerfing us in the next patch because healing is going to take longer, the changes to exhaustion nerfed exhaustion perks quite a bit since it doesn't recharge during chase. Survivors have been nerfed repeatedly with killers getting a good round of buffs last patch so you can't really say there wasn't any buffs for killers.

Bloodlust nerf? Pallet buff? DS buff?
    just to name a few

I recommend playing killer at high rank once and you will understand more about the game

Where are you getting a DS Buff from? DS is going to be changed to be a stun where they aren't dropped. Pallets have just been changed slightly so that the animation doesn't take as long to complete it's literally a decimal percentage that was changed I think it was something like .6 seconds or some bs like that. Bloodlust was changed but only in tier 2 and 3 which most chases if you're crafty don't even last that long. I have played killer in the higher ranks right around 3-5 if you're going to spend the whole game chasing a single target that's all on you. If I run into a looper that actually knows what they're doing, I'll break off and hunt one of the others until they make a mistake and I'll catch them out on it. You want to name some nerfs though What about SS? Exhaustion? The incoming DS Change? There is a whole slew of stuff that was changed and now they're nerfing the suvivors healing rate because it's too fast. They're also looking into other things for survivors to do besides gen because of gen rushing.

Next patch the only counter of DS will be removed, you cant make the obession waste his DS by juggling anymore. How is that not a buff?
.6 seconds is insane btw, it is definitely less and it is still noticable

Yeah sure, if there is a looper yuo just search the pleb in the team and tunnel him to death, what a great mechanic, that you can even write this without noticing that sth is wrong there.... no words

    What is SS?
You call the exhaustion a nerf? I barely notice anything as survivor tbh, actually it helps me because I am only a semi-decent looper and it ######### me up several times when sprintburst randomly activated during chase, in my books that was a buff fo survivors (at least the non optimal loopers lol)

DS change?`I still cant see it, I can only see a DS buff in the patch notes of PTB

Healing rate of survivors nerfed? Cant see that in the patchnotes either

They are looking into things to do for survivors instead of genrushign? Yeah I watched the Q&A, they want to buff sabotage and amke it THREE TIMES easier to pick up a downed survivor, damn these insane survivor nerfs. Noone will play survivor anymore when this is implemented

If you watched the recent Q&A like you said you did then I wouldn't have to explain all of this too you and in the previous Q&A is where they talked about the DS change and how they felt it was a bit too strong at the moment. You didn't watch but maybe 10 minutes of the Q&A I bet. xD You want to come out with guns blazing watch the whole thing. For exhaustion, if you call a random sprint burst a bad thing, especially when you're being chased down in straightaways I question your abilities, I always kept track of my exhaustion before the nerf it was the main priority when being chased so I knew exactly when I was going to burst away and how far that would take me, either to the better looper to pawn the killer off too or to the next pallet/window if I could extend it a little further. Tunneling is a fact of life in this game and they have come out several times to say that tunneling and camping are both viable strats so to say you're going to keep going after the looper instead of the weaker members / "Plebs." is all on you, I prefer my survivors extra crispy on the hook than chasing around one person for 20 minutes. Whether there is something wrong with the game or not based on this doesn't matter as the devs aren't ever really going to do anything about it that's just a fact and something that should be accepted. The future changes to come, in the Q&A they even stated it wouldn't be in this round of PTB as they have a lot of things they're changing and SS stands for Soul Survivor, once a decent perk now isn't even worth picking up in my opinion. Going back to sprint burst though, to solve the randomness of it they could have simply made it an active use like dead hard just without the damage avoidance and extended the exhaustion recovery rate slowing it down to the desired amount which would have largely left other exhaustion perks alone, because lets be honest, they really changed the Exhuastion perks solely because of Sprint Burst in mid chases feeling a bit too op, that moment you almost have a surv and they sprint away got old for most killers and the forums reflected that. No one really had an issue with BL or DH because those were predictable but SB was in a whole other catagory. The .6 seconds that you tout as being insane, they literally just changed the animation so you don't twirl anymore giving it a slight buff in that respect. Making it where killers have less of a chance of hitting through a pallet that's already been dropped which was bs in the first place, much like killers hitting you through a window that you've already jumped through or how about the hit boxes the size of texas that even when a killer misses by a damn country mile he still connects, several videos of that up on youtube showing it off clear as day.

Funny that you mention hitboxes the size of texas, but this is exactly what I imagine when the pallet drops down IN FRONT of me but still stuns me, but ofc thtats not gonna change

actually this next patch is going to change pallet hitbox unless you didn't know about that ;)

He sure does see a ton of play at rank 1.

This just means that it's to easy to reach rank 1.

Oh I know. i never claimed it was hard to hit rank 1. That's why there's such a disparity in survivor play. One game i'm playing with gods the next game i'm playing with bots.

Than why would rank matter in your original post?

Quote me where I said rank mattered? The point is freddy isn't as bad as everyone seems to think when he sees play even at rank 1, which is considered experienced survivors. Are you a moron?

You imply it by saying "rank 1" why would you state rank if it mattered or not than?

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 13
