If you had one really good chase and a bunch of ######### chases than maybe. Most likely not though...

Hiya,Farming seems to be getting more and more prevalent in the game, I receive atleast 2 messages off killers every time I play.
Could it be made so that the killers can only see the characters not the players and gamer tags during the pre game lobby so that they can't message before the game
Hope it's an alright idea
I mean that doesn't really stop farming. The killer would still attempt to do it anyways. They probably won't get rid of the names in lobby.

This is against Valves/DBD rules? Also he said in the reactions that you couldn't get banned for it.Okay I get it its so expensive for people with euro and its like not compensating(like 15% per euro) because closely all games are the same with usd prices to euro in the gaming industry . Also a thing is that paypal is an American company. I buy most of the things in usd on it (not steam),but why don't i may pay it in usd if I can pay with usd?Sorry for my bad english

I mean you could always change the server locations through steam to play in different regions which means you can buy in different currencies most likely (just assuming cause that would make sense if they are different servers)

I would like to see Dragging a Survivor by the shirt collar behind them as an alternate to picking them up and carrying them. Then they just swing thier arm forward and toss them in the air onto the hook. Nothing special about how it works, just a different animation of transporting them. It can be toggled in the main menu if you want to drag or carry Survivors. That would be cool to see. You see a survivor just getting dragged by the collar down the stairs into the basement :pirate:
-
@Mercury said:
Sounds interesting and would have potential. You would also have to be careful like perhaps survivors could cling to something in the way and hold on in an attemtp to struggle out of your grasp. So dragging would be useful on an empty stage like the cornfields. I would love to see a killer drag a survivor down some stairs. xDOr drag them into the basement

Yeah it would be cool to see. It would be a lot of work to put in sadly.

I like the idea but i think it will require a lot of work from the dev team. New animations, maps will need to be checked for clipping, new sounds, etc..Oh yeah totally agree. Like I said this is more of an idea than anything. Not a request, but just ideas for the community to look at.

When teammates don't use their surroundings to figure out where people are. It is crucial to know where the killer and some survivors are at all times or at least know in the general area of where they are.

Any ideas for a new ranking system? It seems like the higher of rank I climb, the worst team mates I get along with camping and tunneling killers. I’d expect to see it with the lower ranks but not the high ranks. It’s so hard to get a pip when it’s like this.Well than it is hard for you and not for others, currently I am fine with how it is. I pip 90% of my games. Why? Cause I do the objectives and play smart. Even if a killer tunnels it doesn't matter, you can still outplay the ######### out of them and they lose because of it.

I think it’s perfectly fine buffing it for more use, even a tiny bonus. Why is that a problem?
It is a problem because people will go to the side that can gain more bp which can cause lobbies to be in a bad state.
No, because killers get BBQ, and generally get more. That’s not a problem anymore. Don’t know where that notion came from
When WGLF was 200% more people played survivor than killer. Yeah a very small percentage boost won't harm the que times, but when you noticeably see a difference in bp gain, more people will flock to the easiest way of bp.
Never said it was a current issue. I was replying to what you said that can cause a problem..
BBQ does a better job at it rn and it should just stay that way. Never said BBQ was underwhelming.

But wouldn't that make it too easy for the killer to drag you to a hook, then pick you up and toss you on it?If you put it as while dragging a survivor you are slower than when they are on the shoulder, than no. Now if you can actually use your weapon while dragging a survivor is another thing too.

How about giving the sore losers a way to avoid playing any particular killer for a short amount of time? If a survivor gets salty allow him/her to avoid a killer for about 24 hrs. This way a survivor can act on their frustration and maybe they will leave the false reporting alone. Also if a survivor ends up avoiding too many killers they essentially blocked their opportunity to play for a day or so.Or just go against the killer you are in the lobby with and play the game..
There are always going to be salty people and I thought my comment was a constructive way to compromise and ease the false reporting issue. But that's just my opinion. Telling people to just shut up and play will never work.
I never said the false reporting thing was a none issue. You were talking about not going against certain killers cause of "reasons". That is why I said you should just play the game.

I'm not talking about game mechanics, I'm talking about the human people that are playing the game.
You were talking about people trapping the killer in a corner. Yeah it is a scummy thing and makes the killer not have fun like you said
Every time you sit in front of someone on the hook, you're degrading the experience for an actual, human person.
Every time a purple flashlight SWF group blinds the killer over and over again, they're degrading the experience for a human person.
Every time someone catches the killer in an exploit, they're degrading the experience for a human person. Every time a killer follows someone around for the entire match and ignores players running between them, they're degrading the experience for a human person. That's my point. My point is that having an attitude of, "[BAD WORD] your fun, I do what I want to get mine" is ######### and unsportsmanlike.
My point was further that both sides do it, and it's ######### for both sides to have that attitude, and that literally everyone playing this game with that attitude needs to stop, take a breath, and remember that you aren't playing with AI and that you should work on your empathy skills & the way that you treat other people, especially if you want to have a community.
Or you (general you) can just be a dick and make choices that make people miserable and then wonder why people are miserable at you, and you can just continue to spiral into Miserable Dicktown until you find a new game to ruin for yourself & everyone who comes across you.
I already agree with you cause I myself play both roles well enough to know you need both sides to have a game. Name some that you hear in the aftergame chat frequently? Like, not in a way that they should or should not do this. Because most of the time when I hear killers complain it's not some made up rule but instead the state of the game or things within the game that could mechanically be changed, not some code of honor survivors are supposed to adhere to.Multiple people freak the hell out on me for doing simple things like dissembling their totems. It isn't, 'the game has bad totem placement' it's 'you ######### you took down my totems, I hope your family gets murdered.' Like, yeah, sorry? I searched for them & I took them down because that's part of the game.
People complain habitually about people using perks that they don't like, and say that they're personally scummy pieces of garbage for using perks. Or juking. Or being good at playing stealthy. etc etc etc. I very rarely see people in-game complain about the game mechanics and usually it's a direct attack & a suggestion that players are bad people for using tools given to them.
Hence why I say, both sides do it.

You've seen a Ghost: cool idea but, people can literally run to another gen by the time the timer goes off or decide to body block. Cool to make people do other things, but the amount of time suggested doesn't seem to really do much.
Cut the line: same idea about how the survivor can just go do something else for the allotted time.

Now think about what it'd be like if a survivor trapped you in Lery's corner or in a bugged pallet and everyone else kept playing the game & you weren't able to. You'd say that survivor was ruining your fun, because it keeps you from being able to participate.
Before you complain that trapping the killer is using an exploit: that's not what I'm saying. I'm giving you a walk-through on the concept of empathy.

If a survivor plays perfectly, what happens? They remain undetected by the killer, are never hit and they do gens and escape. Let's imagine all 4 survivors play perfectly, no one hurt, no one to heal. No one pips under this system. Despite playing perfectly and following the aim of the game exactly...
except that if this happens you obviously was playing against a killer who was far below you in skill level. and no you should not be givin a pip for walking all over a killer who stood no chance to begin with, play a better killer more in line with your skill level.

What the developers have done to Killer is just ridiculous. You feel incredibly powerless unless you play Nurse or Hillbilly, and I refuse to play the same two Killers over and over just to feel like I'm doing something. Survivor is boring to play, it's simply too easy to play as Survivor. I don't want to play Survivor, I want to play Killer. I want to play Killer and be satisfied. I post this here in hopes a developer sees this, or at least get a response from one of them.I don't want to play DBD anymore. I played Survivor for a while, but that got boring, and Killer is the only entertaining part of this game. But they have ruined it, and the community's pleas for any sort of balance IN FAVOR of the Killer has either been given a half-assed fix, or is ignored. I don't hate this game, I just hate the direction it's been going in for a while. And it doesn't seem like it's going to get any better.
Even the new DLC doesn't seem to be bringing anything that will make playing Killer more satisfying and fun. No matter how hard you try, unless you try-hard as heck and bring in top-tier perks/add-ons, you will not have fun because the Killers are so weak and playing Survivor is a cakewalk. Again, I don't hate this game, I want to see them bring changes that will actually make Killer fun. But until that day comes, if it ever does, I'm not going to keep playing this game. I will not buy anymore of the DLC. Hopefully in the future I can come back and actually enjoy playing Killer, but until that day, I'm not going to keep frustrating myself playing DBD. The game has incredible potential, but the developers need to remember that the Killer is meant to be an unstoppable force, not a laughable one.
The devs did talk about how they are going to make animations better and going through old killers and making them better. Time is the essence here.
All I hear is talking, but nothing happens
Changing animation like trappers "cheap" mori, who gives a damn seriouslyPerfect example is the clown, he is nowhere close nurse, just another mediocre killer in the selection. A few days after its release and I hardly see him anymore
I wasn't talking mori animations. Talking about faster animations for placing traps or doing specific actions.
Lets be honest, speeding up his animation.... do you seriously believe it will bring him on nurse level?

No because he isn't a nurse

Last time I checked he couldn't fly through walls..

Nothing has changed about enjoyability in one small but oh so important area: Disconnects.
They are rampant, they are common, they are frequent & they do not go unpunished cause...well, just that, they don't get punished. This is the average of what happened to me today...

Lobbies get filled with Survivors who either have blood, are in SWF or both, and a few Survivors without either.
Guess who don't disconnect? The Survivors without either blood or SWF.Players are supposed to have fun, no? Where's the fun that i'm supposed to have in this? "Oops, i failed. Better DC from that Hook/Mori."
Oh yeah, side-note: Remove the ability for Survivors to quit out during Mori animations while also making it impossible to interrupt the Mori animation as Killer. It's only a few seconds, they can spare those. And yes, i realize they can still pull the plug, but that's kinda unsolvable, so at least do that. Then make it so the Killer can't stop the Mori so they can't spam the beginning animation.
I remember the developers saying they mostly want the game to be fun.
That's great and all, but what's not enjoyable about the game will stand out. And this stands out greatly to me, and for longer than just today.I'm guessing since you are level 2 that you only played a couple of games. Play more games before you make a post like this.

Unless you think players should play 2000 or more hours to then have a valid opinion, i strongly believe i've encountered MORE than enough disconnectors to be absolutely sick of them. Was not referring to your game hours. Was talking about how you at the time took the screenshot while at level 2 with the new patch that just came out on the same day you posted this thread. Even though they disconnect from this one game in the new patch apparently it happens all the time from here on out for you..
Then let me inform you on this: Just because i was level 2 at the time of the screenshot doesn't mean i still was at the end of the day.
I know, never expected you to stay there...
Then there's nothing else i can do for you.
For you, it'll just come down to the good ol' "Believe it or not" and if i can't convince you, oh well.
But still, these are some things i'd like to share...It's INCREDIBLY uncommon for me to go through a match without at least 1 Survivor disconnecting.
I never camp, cause it bores me.
I tunnel until they're on the hook mostly, if that even counts as tunneling.
My chat is off 24/7, so i can't say anything.
I myself never disconnect, not as Killer or Survivor, since i practically never have emergencies and i know how to plan ahead.
I never (pallet) loop, cause it bores me.I name these things simply to try and dismiss that i am the cause of these Survivors disconnecting from my matches.
Again, believe it or not, i can't convince you more than what i just named.
I also find it very much unbelievable that like 7 Survivors all have real-life emergencies within 3 matches, and that those emergencies also happen to occur right as i down/hook/Mori them.Yeah I don't assume that every dc has a great reason behind it. I have had times where people dc on me and call me names. I would just move onto the next match and find a better round instead of the previous. They should figure out a way to punish a bit more if so many people are dcing. The problem is figuring out how to approach it.

Well if the killer couldn't catch even one survivor against all 4 than why should you be rewarded for having an easy game. Getting rewarded for having a more intense close game where all survivors are struggling to even make it to the gate is better than never seeing the killer once and leaving out the exit gate. It means the killer was playing really well against the 4 others and the 4 others should be rewarded for great team play under an intense situation. That's the wrong way of thinking, because the rank systems purpose is to categorize players by similar skill and match them. So if one killer get's completely destroyed by his lack of skill, than they should downpip and the survivors pip. Otherwise good surivors could stay rank 20 all the time and crush noobkillers.
And the problem is that, if survivors want to pip against a bad killer, the emblem system encourages them to feed the killer, which is risky and also might lead the killer towards a safety or pip as well. Which means they stay the same rank.I have not seen evidence of the person who started this thread of what rank killer they were going against or how much skill they have against the killer. In fact how much skill the killer had against them.
Survivors can just dc to go back to rank 20 and they complain why they don't pip...
You guys are missing the point.
Emblems are not a failure because I can't rank up. They are a failure because they force me to play in a way that's just not fun, on top of being highly inconsistent with my actual performance in the game (which itself completely defeats the purpose of a ranking system). BHVR decided to change the ranking system instead of just fixing the problems with the game. Survivor is less fun because pips are inconsistent and I don't have fun playing for pips. Killer is not fun because you deal with the same BS as before, only now you get shiney points at the end to make it sting less when you get bodied.
You guys are arguing about skill and rank. I'm arguing about the game being balanced and enjoyable.
You can still play how you played before. Just rewards you for not farming.

@Zanfer Same with plenty of perks that survivors can use, especially Laurie’s. There should be three perks for every survivor, especially DLC, and not all perks have to be incredible. I’d say that it is in need of a serious nerf, though it should have never been present in the first place. It needs a nerf, but has to be still useful in a way for the survivor to want to use it still. Yeah there are perks in this game that aren't used that often, but completely gutting a perk right out isn't the best way to go about it.

All I got to say is if you are unhappy than just don't play. Playing and feeling not great is not great for your health as an individual.
You don't get it. The emblem system just makes me not want to play DBD. I will just go play something else. Enough people do this and there wouldn't be enough people playing. That is slowly still happening because they didn't actually fix the problems with the game. You can't pretend like the emblem system is a success when the game itself is still broken.
Apparently you didn't read my comment even though you quoted it. I said "if you are unhappy than just don't play".
The emblem system versus the game mechanics it self have no correlation to each other at all. For example: Hag running at a certain movement speed is not affected by how the emblem system works.
I did and apparently you didn't read the part wher I say "you don't get it' at the start of my reply.
Telling people to not play is not a solution to the problem. FIXING THE GAME MECHANICS is a solution to the problem, yet instead of that we get a new rank system that doesn't do anything but make the game even MORE frustrating to play..
Well it takes time to figure these things out. The devs get constant complaints about millions of issues that they would love to solve, but if they solve them to quickly it can easily break the game or just make more people mad. I understand your frustration, but sometimes you have to be patient and let the devs do what they need to do. If you don't like that, than this game isn't for you..

Overtime survivors overall are playing more and more hours on this game and get so great at hitting the skill checks and that is why you see gens getting done more quick overtime. Also teamwork causes the gens to get done even quicker when not doing a gen alone. Also we shouldn't forget, that Ruin actually encourages survivors to learn how to hit the great ones. I barely see people gen tapping these days everyone is powering through it.
yupp exactly, ruin makes you practice the great skill checks even more

Glad I found this game and keep up the good work yall.
