Yeah that's likely.
They'll probably take the ones that don't show up out of their future pool of testers. Likely going to be bumpy for the first 5 or so experiment / data gathering sessions.
After this one I wonder if they even would want to try another experiment from how much they screwed up.

Makes you wonder what kind of poor planning they have to cancel an experiment like this.
Makes you wonder how they got all of this stuff planned and ended up screwing up almost everything about it
The date, the time, and the actual build of the game. The only thing more they could have messed up would have been giving people the wrong codes.
-
I tried to do a couple fixes to see if I could get it working and now my code isn't even letting me get into the experiment anymore.
-
This is their first experiment so I can give them some slack, but at this point they screwed up the Date, Time, and Build of the game so. I can only give so much slack till I think it is just complete ineptitude for them to try something like this.
Still hoping they can fix this so we can give them some good data, but they might just need to reschedule this whole thing.
-
Yup isn't working for me either. I guess this entire thing was a complete disaster with the Date getting screwed up, the time getting screwed up, and now this entire build not even letting us play.
-
Nevermind, the timing is just wrong in the e-mail.
10am EDT is not the same time as 4PM UTC

i 100% agree that the grind has gone wild. I came into DBD around September of 2017. Since then the amount of playable characters on both sides has roughly doubled. Even with the offerings, BBQ/WGLF, and double bloodpoint events you have to seriously no life this game like its a full time job to keep pace with the progression.
Something has got to give. I can understand the devs not wanting to significantly alter the bloodpoint economy as if they just increased the point generation across the board it could easily break the balance of item availability. The main issue is perks and the obscene amount of points it costs to first unlock them and then burn through bloodwebs to get all of them. It has only gotten worse as more characters are released. Not to mention it pollutes the bloodweb RNG making it more difficult to get the perks you really want first.
In my opinion they could do a couple of things to alleviate this.
- Remove perk tiers - Seriously perk tiers are absolutely redundant and needlessly add to the grind.
- Make it possible to purchase multiple perks in a single bloodweb - at 50k points per level 50 bloodweb i should be getting more for my money than a single tier of 1 perk.
- Or we could remove perks from bloodweb RNG entirely and make them purchaseable with bloodpoints in a sort of ingame store similar to the shrine once you have unlocked the teachable.
Removing the tiers might make it too little of a grind but I do really like the other 2. Either letting you buy perks out right or letting you get multiple in one bloodweb. But that is as far as how the progression system could be reworked. I also think getting more bloodpoint for something would be good in addition.

You're opening a huge bag of entitled rage responses to the effect of "Don't buy every perk", "I have every killer P3-50", and/or "it's your own fault for the grind".
And yes, I speak from experience:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/58684/never-going-to-prestige-again
I would then have to respond to them "Prestiging gives cosmetics to killers that may not have any/is an actual achievement in the game therefore it is encouraged for the player to prestige their characters" and I would say "Since the blood-web is lucked based you may need to 'buy every perk in the game' for a character if literally only want 1 specific one"
Either way, it is a stupid response and who wouldn't want more blood points to spend anyway.

Define fun.
Can I enjoy a match in this game? Yes
Will I always enjoy every match in this game? No
Would I rather play something else? A lot of the time
Do I hate this game? No
-
#########?... You are going to gut one my favourite perks in game... first it was bugged... now you fix it... and you are already going to change it!
Cheeky, but no I am taking this post 100% seriously since this will probably bring legit survivors that would say that.
-
Karma? If you just brought the DLC for the perks you should expect them to change. Just sad to see survivors need those crutches so badly they will spend 7 dollars on a perk.

@Usui said:
The crybabies got their way again, big shocker. I guess we know they hit the threshold for ash DLC's sold now it's fine to bury the perk. Wish I could get a refund.
I only see one crybaby here. At least they added counterplay to the perk so it isn’t a brainless crutch for survivors that can’t beat a base killer. Legitimate good job on their part.
-
Either way hopefully we get it soon

I feel like having things like a season pass, more themed events/adding more objectives while making the maps larger could be more fun and refreshing. We just need things that give us a reason to play.
I think that a new fresh game mode would bring that spark back to new and old players give people variety and a De saltier for the regular gamemode

Hello fellow servants of The Entity. I see a lot of people overrating Hex:Ruin. Don't get me wrong, it is the best perk to directly slow generator repairs...
I mean I could just learn nurse if I wanted to win everygame without ruin. But sometimes I like to do well and not get genrushed for playing a non Nurse character.

@AshleyWB said:
The game will survive but everyone is just waiting for something new. End game collapse was the most refreshing thing to come in years but more is needed.
Endgame is the only new base game content that has been added in the past year
-
A new gamemode is just the freshness that this game needs to survive at least the next year or 2
-
Where have all the good megs gone? And where are all the Jake's? Where's the streetwise ugly thing to fight the rising odds?
My point exactly we need this new gamemode

@Mat_Sella This is the true answer here. If people faced a new killer every game, they'd not complain as much and they'd have more fun overall.
Yeah but that is impossible at high ranks and will always be impossible at high ranks since BHVR said they will never make another Billy or Nurse. So adding something that isn't just the same 5 gens every game on the same maps with the same 3 killers over and over and over since no one at high ranks that wants to win will play anything other than Nurse Billy and Spirit. New gamemodes are the answer to keeping this games longevity alive.
-
Since ruin and BBQ are almost necessary on every killer. No, if you want to get to high ranks you get 2 options, buy hag and leatherface dlc or get really good at nurse.

Some people have been around the lobby simulator so much, they've developed Stockholm Syndrome.
I mostly think that insane queue times are because ranking sucks, yes a new gamemode would lengthen queues for the regular gamemode but I think its necessary for veterans to have any fun with the game anymore since most of them are completely burnt out.
-
Am curious on how it can be handy. Giving your obession your terror radius doesn't sound all that useful to me?
Your right it doesn't sound that useful. Because compared to other perks it isn't. I would suggest just using something else.

but how can you "accidentally" level a character 50 times in a row???
you literally have to click on their picture and level the bloodweb, with the character constantly standing right next to it, watching you! how can that happen??? xD
+1 to this. An accidental level 40 character doesn't happen.
-
Don't think its necessary. Survivors literally just got a patch full of buffs.
-
While having killers that are better would be nice, having played this game for over 700 hours I can tell you having Freddy being better doesn't fix the fact that I am super bored with the base game and the same objective to do every single game. There is no variety in the game.
-
Anything that isn't just 1v4 5 gens to do would bring some freshness to the game it really needs
-
Why? My only question. For what reason would this ever be a good idea.
-
Ok then I will counter this change by having when a survivor is within range of a generator it can't be fixed.
See it makes no sense to punish a killer for being around their objective.
They are there to kill you, and in guessing you just made this post because you got camped out a few times.
-
Shouldn't this be in bug reports? It would also be nice if there was some visual proof
-
If the game releases in a working condition that has a lot of content and a well balanced and fun gamemode/gamemodes, DvD should be scared since the only thing that can save this game at this point is some fresh new base content. Not another Garbo killer with Garbo perks on each side with a map everyone will complain about.
DbD needs a new gamemode badly.

Good! we have too much killers players! lobbies take forever!!!
Only good players can be play killer! love the idea!
Yeah good luck with that in the PTB, everyone will be testing the killer changes. Queue times for them are going to go up so high and survivors will probably get insta queues
-
It’s not like any of the things that got nerfed were meta anyway. Won’t care either way. Thing I am most worried about are the bugs they added in.
-
You Survivors are the best. A Bloody Party Streamer was used by me and then you gen-rush me. Awesome. We got around 8K each.
That’s the risk you take by using it. Same for survivor. That is why I always bring good add ons and game extending perks so I can get the most out of it, but a survivor could disconnect or on the other side the killer could DC then you basically wasted it.
-
It’s not like they can’t make cool cosmetics and fix the game at the same time. The people who make cosmetics are not the same people who balance and fix the game so this complaint is extremely ignorant.
-
Make sure you ask these questions in the Q&A
-
This is important for new players, will this new end game collapse be explained and demonstrated in the tutorial for killer and survivor?
-
He used to be as bad as Freddy. Now he is in a whole new tier. If Freddy was tier F, Legion has to be in tier Z

@Kilmeran said:
@Zagrid But that's the risk you take when you stream a game, and it's true of a majority of high ranks in games. Hell, I also play Overwatch and Paladins, and I watch high-ranked streamers in both those games. And Overwatch has a player base that absolutely dwarfs this one.
And in the high-ranks, they can be in queue for an easy 30-40 minutes. High ranks are always a low population.
That would be fine but in DbD case its isn't an issue after 1 week or 2 after the reset. With a game like Overwatch they have a new season every like 3 months-ish? That game also has a skill cap about 1000* higher than DbD because most killer gameplay can be boiled down into chasing, looping, and hitting. A few exceptions but nothing nearly as complicated as Overwatch. The biggest issue and main point is that not only if ranks just didn't reset the issue would basically go away for streamers, the queuing system that the Devs tested and reverted also fixed this issue, it just gave a bunch of people small queue times like 3-5 min that are taken from the streamers that have to queue for over 30 min for a game.
The take away is basically that regular player complaints made the system change back and gave the streamer these horrible queue times. While I do think that from a business stance that this was the right thing to do, streamers are still suffering in higher ranks and it should be a top priority to keep streamers happy and healthy in a community like DbD, because if the streamer base started to drop off because of terrible queue times and really getting burnt out from the game, this game's player base could take a serious drop.
Really, the issue with streamers is more that if they have be playing this game for years and have over 3000 hours playing the same game, they are definitely burnt out. Even if they don't show it. "JuSt PlAy A dIfErEnT gAmE", again issue with money, this is how they make a living. If they swap games, they won't know if they will be able to pay for their house or get their next meal, since most people watch for the game, not the person. Just watch any streamer play something they don't usually play and they might get 1/5th of their normal audience and the more people usually show up, the less they will get when they swap games.
The 2 big take aways are, 1 the rank reset needs to be redone so streamers that grind to a higher rank can still play 1 week after the reset, and the game needs to have a fresh new change to bring some energy back to the streamers. A new gamemode like 2v8 or heck even some new objective so it isn't just fix 5 gens or kill 4 people for over 3000 hours.
The amazing thing is DbD has survived this long off of 1 game mode alone. Most games can't say that. However, it definitely shows in the player base and streamers that they are playing a game that fundamentally hasn't changed in 4 years.
-
I would much rather have a totem that when it is up my bloodpoint gain is increased by 25% every 30 seconds it stays up. Just to show that even with a totem that does that their totem system is still super broken because you probably won't even get 100% bloodpoint bonus before it goes down.
-
They're too powerful. Whoever says they aren't obviously hasn't played killer enough.
Look at a wall.
Look for a survivor that might be ready to make a save that is standing close by before blindly picking someone up.
In other words.
-
*clears throat*
And stop trolling.

@Carpemortum said:
That's not the queue. Its because youre rank 5 on reset day.
Not everyone grinds out rank on reset. So you've just less people there rn. it's why I take the week before I even try to get higher rank. Just casual farming til the 20th.
For a regular player that won't be an issue. What about the streamers where it is their job to play this game for a living? Marth here plays this game more as a hobby, but when this game is how you pay the bills and on rank reset day you just get to hang out in hour long queues because you played too much and are too good. Its no excuse for a system that does that.
-
First attempt at a game today: 450+ ping. Dodge. Seconds attempt: 128 ping in lobby. Game loads and the lag is unplayable. I'm teleporting all over the place.
You didn't even get to experience what people that get to a higher rank too quickly get to deal with. I present to you the literal over 1 hour queue, brought to you by BHVR's ranking system.
-
Still doesn't fix people that get to high rank too quickly being in queue for literally over 1 hour.
-
None can force someone to not DC, is that much hard to understand?
The DC is meant for people who are either stuck in a game to be able to leave or if they are having some sort of other issue. Or possibly to leave if they need to do something else. Players instead are abusing the system to leave whenever they get mad/get outplayed and are salty. So it is less of an issue of leaving but more of abusing them system, and it is the abusers of the system that need to get punished.
Now that is not that hard to understand.
