If they wanna stick with just skill checks, we should get different variations of skill checks.

I wanted reverse to be one, but maybe it should stay doctor exclusive.

Slower skill checks, faster skill checks, straight line skill checks, idk square skill checks.

Double skill checks (hit two times) , skill checks to press and hold.

Just some kind of variation, please.

Just something simple like this would make generators a bit more skillful and less boring to work on. I feel like this could be revised upon though.

Imaging Survivor has to collect an actual "Tools box" from every closet, locker, desk all around the map, carry 8 charges. Allow to do 8 random tasks (various but simple like Among us). Then have to gather more "Tools box" to continue.

Im just talking about the Fun on objective, not about balance.

Edit: Here is balance: Each Gen has 40 charges, Killer kicks on Gen cause 2 charge lost and continue to lost 1 charge every 15sec.

Seems cool, but there would definitely have to be some thought put into this.

Imo would put a limit progression on gens!

    For example

Every 25% progression a gen reaches the gen overheats, and survivors need to find oil and pour it into the gen to cool the generator off and progress to the next 25 percentage!

Maybe, this sounds like an interesting idea. However, it seems a bit tedious doesn't it? Also, what if you are playing with baby survivors?

This is the main idea of the game. If you find it boring, feel free to test other games...

I still love this game and I do play other games, I just think it would be cool if generators weren't super stale.

The build is good for a specific play style. It's nice that you shared it so that newer players have something to go off of. Just know that if you are new this build wont work for every situation. There is no build that works for every situation though, and this build is great for getting the game done and doing your best to secure a win. However, if you want to last long in chases this build won't do much for you. My personal build that I use as a base build is Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Iron Will and Windows of Opportunity. Ive spent hundreds of hours fine tuning it though making sure that it works best for my play style. It allows me to mind game while injured, make chases last longer with dead hard and I can find extra loops too with windows. Borrowed time is used frequently as I usually run in after anyone is hooked in the endgame and get them out with it.

So yeah, U want a build, that build is a nice start, and just fine tune it with other perks you want to try until you find the build that suits you best. <3

Honestly, I think that even without perks survivors are very strong. I don't really use perks for chases because I would consider myself very skilled in chases. The only problem is the boosted teammates I play with lol. This build is specifically made for carrying your team in solo queue. Just keep in mind if you are a very good survivor, instead of bringing all the normal meta perks for yourself try using perks that are more beneficial for your team. Also, if you still want to choose lots of other perks at least bring kindred. Kindred is amazing in solo queue.

Its been an idea since the very beginning, but like every idea that came from the community, it got ignored. This page on the forum only exists for people to vent their rage at how bad the devs are lmao. Hopefully one day someone who actually listens to us will reach the high ranks of BHVR and implement something like this but until then, MCote will ignore this sadly.

Well, yeah honestly. But I am an optimist and believe that the devs will eventually get to the community.

These are things I've heard so take them with a grain of salt. If these end up happening well, I guess you can read the title of this post.

1: Halloween skins will not be earnable, instead they will have to be bought.

2: There is no difference from the last event. Same as always, just a slight bloodpoint boost.

3: The new survivor add on can be used whenever the player wants after the event has ended, but the killer is limited to during the event ONLY. (Devs, your bias is showing)

If there are any I missed then this event will be a bigger joke than I thought.

Wait WHAT, the survivor addon will be allowed after the event? yeah that seems balanced. Seriously? Things are going to suck for a good long while for killers.

It really only helps players who have over 500+ hours since they are the ones trying to get every perk on every character. I do think they should do it anyway because trying to teach a new player the perks, then the differences in tiers is a bit too much.

They would probably need to lower the teachable unlocks and also add a few more free perks to make it better. Could make for a good contest. Design a good free perk.

A contest for a good free perk would be nice.

A friend of mine just got the game, started as a rank 20 killer obviously, EVERY match he went against purple and red ranks...

Now, about me, as red rank killer, almost EVERY match I go against 2 greens and 2 purple or red ranks

I don't feel any of both situations as fair...

Not great, most of the time I get the less than average survivor team. I still have fun though.

What rank are you in? I have 2.6k+ hours, red rank on both, and would say any or all of the things I mentioned constitute 85% or more of matches. An afterthought from my initial comment: Kindred helps to a degree with camping, only to know if the killer is near and let others know. But I was specifically referring to Borrowed Time.

I am in rank one all the time with 1.5k hours on both killer and survivor, but tunneling and camping killers are pretty uncommon. Even when it does happen, it is pretty minimal. Full on campers or tunnelers are few and far between when I play. Kindred is also not specifically to combat camping, it is to allow everyone access to important info when they need it (when someone is hooked). Also, what about borrowed time?

  • @GoshJosh said:

I mean, sure, if you don't feel you need an answer to prolonging chases, slugging, camping and/or tunneling. 🤷‍♂️

It doesn't happen as much as you think it does, besides this is still a solid build that you could try. I am sure there are other solo builds you could use instead.

  • Usually I bring iron will, DS, BT, and adrenaline.

  • When you perform shock therapy, the one second delay is built in and will happen every time. The shock detonation time is the time it takes for a shock therapy attack to hit a survivor (base detonation is 1 second). This can be reduced a bit with certain addons. Timing a shock nicely will either force a survivor to drop a pallet early or if they get greedy then you will get a hit on them. Both situations are good. This is because when a survivor is hit by shock therapy (not the static blast) they will be unable to do any action for 2.5 seconds such as dead harding, dropping a pallet, vaulting a window, etc.

  • @Orion said:

What would be the point of feedback given that the only visible action is a game ban and that people would just claim the messages were fake?

Yeah I know, it just kinda sucks that there isn't a built in recording system to catch griefing players. I hate it because there are people out there who are new or just want to have fun and those people get away with taking the fun away.

  • It would be nice to have a rework or list of changes though. But yes his addons definitely need a tune up.

It's a good suggestion but doesn't really stop the initial grind of the game. Players still need to reach tier 40 to unlock the 3 teachables so there's still a big grind for new players.

I suggested all perks be tier 3 a week or two ago in a different post. There is just 1 problem I didn't think of before I suggested this. There are only 14 survivor and 12 killer free perks. This means on a level 1 player they'll have every available perk unlocked at earliest level 14 for survivor and 12 for killer. Then they need to reach 40 to unlock the teachables.

My idea focused more on getting a perk without having to buy a chapter and grind to it. An example is Kate's Windows Of Opportunity. I know that is her only good perk and is extremely useful for new players. It would be nice to allow them to unlock it without having to buy the full chapter.

Yeah I guess it isn't the best solution. Now that I think of it, it does only really benefit people who have already played the game for a long time.

Free Perk Unlock Tokens. These are earned every 25 levels up till Devotion 1. These will allow you to unlock any perk you want from any character in exchange for the token.

This will help new players unlock some perks through playtime. Think of this as a prestige token in Call Of Duty but you can only get a max of 4 of them. Gives new players something to work towards without seeming a bit too much of a grind.

I mean this is an idea, however I believe that it would be better for the game to have all perks at tier 3 from the start due to how many perks there are in the game right now.

Yeah, I am not sure how it would make it easier for normal people to track, and if so would it matter? Scratch marks and blood already last long enough for a sentient person to take advantage of. I see no reason for not adding in a colorblind mode as there is nothing to abuse IMO.

  • It is because the matchmaking sucks in actually putting survivors with people at their skill level. There could be a really in depth ranking system but would require BVHR to actually do something big. For now, just run kindred every game honestly.

Ds don't need a Nerf. Just eat ds early If you don't want to deal with it later. And you said it alredy "After 5 gens...The game is basically over"

So? Does that mean the survivor don't deserve a escape and you can Tunnel and Camp him out of the game?

Oh and Pop needed a Nerf because the Killer had to much time for other things.

Ds ist in a pretty good spot now.

DS is definitely not in a good spot.

It is way too powerful for survivors and there is no counter to it, and no slugging someone who has it is not a counter. Survivors know how powerful DS is because they know for one minute, that they can do whatever the hell they want. They can sit on a gen and look at you in the eyes because they know you are helpless in this situation. It lasts way to long for their own good and is sometimes run by every survivor. One person could bring DS or no one could but if anyone is an obsession, then the killer pretty much has to assume they have DS, if they guess wrong and pick up a survivor with DS they will most likely lose afterwards unless they are already winning.

I noticed with the new archive that a new skin for Billy is coming out. But after his rework it seems that no one really touches him anymore. Its rare I ever encounter a Billy as survivor and its a shame. What you all think, you all still play Billy at all ?

I used to play him regularly just like everyone else, but the only problem I have is his movement now. It is really wonky with the chainsaw and there was literally no reason for it to change. I plan on relearning the movement for the chainsaw again, but it is quite difficult and frustrating sometimes. He is pretty fun to play and he has been messed with a little too much. Just reverting the movement back to how it used to be will be enough, for me at least. I also miss going against billy players.

  • That seems fun. Trapper vs Hillbilly; I think the trapper would win. Billy does have a chainsaw but the trapper should be playing smarter with his bear traps.

I think that the strongest killer would be the Oni or Demogorgon. This is also assuming they would keep their powers and be more realistic, meaning the demo would actually be a threat lol.

You must live in a completely different area of the world from me. Two of the five Nurses I mentioned facing in the past year (about the same number of Hags) were actually any good, and one of the two d/cd after two gens were done because a Kate had an easy time on Lery's running her around. And wait, wait, wait. I never said Nurse was ruined. I'm speaking from my own experience as playing survivor in red ranks, and I've noticed that Nurses were around (albeit not that many), and then they all just disappeared one day except for a few stragglers few and far between.

I severely miss going against Nurse (w/o Infectious Fright because IF is just tedious to play against when the killer is Nurse) because one of my first favorite trials happened with a Nurse.

Yeah, I think we can both agree she's still the most deadly killer in the game by far, but that's the issue. The devs did nothing to address that even thought that's what they seemed to be addressing. So, all the devs did was make her less fun to play, and this was more noticeable for casuals than people deeply involved in the game. The devs did absolutely nothing effective to address the overwhelming power the Nurse has in very specialized hands.

I play with low fps and low graphics, and I just enjoy blinking around and swinging. I don't care all that much about the outcome of the match (even though I will slug the third survivor for the 4k given the rare opportunity). That small change in how the blink recharge mechanic functions doesn't feel like it makes me any less powerful. It just feels restrictive to the amount of fun I can have and not the effectiveness I can have.

But...this is all secondary. The real reason I'm so annoyed about the Nurse changes is that...

the Jenner's Last Breath and Anxious Gasp combo no longer exist. That combo was my favorite thing in the entire game beside the Hex:Third Seal. I think I could shut up for a while if the combo was still in the game, but it's not, so here I am, explaining all the downfalls of the devs' decisions on a forum somewhere. The devs should have 100% done something else to change Nurse, preferably more on the end of decreasing her tracking ability during a blink.

Edit: What is below doesn't have to do with my point. It's just a reminder of what once was... :,(

Here's a video of one of the last games I played with the combo. Shouldn't have gotten a 4k, but the things about Nurse that allowed that haven't changed (i.e. strange hits, stuns purposefully coded not to work on her when in fatigue, the amount of tracking I can do in fatigue, etc.).

And, ummm, ignore the NOED. I had a rough previous few matches.

    https://youtu.be/rZslszo9-cU?t=319

Ok, so I guess we can agree on the fact that Nurse is a bit less fun to play now because of how punishing her power is for misusing it. Also that the devs didn't really nerf her.

Btw what did the addons do? I have forgotten what they did.

  • @Patrick1088 said:

So, I'm new to the game and I enjoy playing as killet, but I struggle to find survivors sometimes. I started running Doctor + Whispers and that alleviated my issue, but now when I go to other killers, I lose the static blast which helps so much.

I do patrol gens with whispers and it works okay. Any general strategies for non-Doctor would be helpful.

Also I am colorblind so I do struggle to see scratch marks sometimes so that an issue, too.

    TIA!

There is a guide for using whispers better, I would also say it is a good tracking perk for all killers. Whispers is awesome IMO as a tracking perk but BBQ and chili is chosen for a more accurate visual of where survivors are and gives double BP if you hook every one at least once. However, whispers is a very good perk for keeping the pressure on survivors and is a very solid choice.

For finding survivors , pay attention to crows and blood if you can. If you see some crows fly back to their original position. I am pretty sure that the crows take 15 seconds to come back after being disturbed by the killer or the survivor. If crows were disturbed by another player, you know that they are right around where the crows were just disturbed and fly away.

I playing survivor about 70% of the time but when queues are inevitably slower I do enjoy playing as hag, Despite my enjoyment, many survivors often complain about playing against her and the way I play her. I understand it sucks to be pulling somebody off of a hook and there I am right behind them teleporting to my trap. I never use mint rag and I ONLY use rusty shackles if I am going against an obvious squad where I need good map pressure and surprise. Personally when I play against hag I always watch her from a close distance and see where she places traps and take advantage of triggering traps near pallets and quickly dead-hearting to the other side and stunning her with the pallet. Am I sweaty for playing as her or am I just too worried about end-game chat?

I think you are just playing to win, which isn't bad but of course survivors will call you sweaty for playing a strong killer. People cry about everything in this game. Also end-game chat doesn't even really mean much either, just be logical and they will usually make up some nonsensical response even when winning.

if the killer can hear it, toxicity will rise to an all time high.

Yeah, but that would make sense for "proximity chat". Voice chat for survivors is what would be less toxic, however the problem with full on voice chat is that it would be way too powerful for killers. Without getting into it, if everyone had voice chat as survivors, the game would become considerably harder to play as killer which is already difficult.

  • @beached said:

Okay, I know this will be controversial but I've never stepped too far from a hot cauldron. Trust me, I remember the days of COD online, and the ability to say not-so-nice things to people online but hear me out. What if this feature was completely optional. I know a lot of killers dislike the idea of SWFs and the ability of survivors to communicate but I believe proximity chat could be a happy medium between the two, allowing the killer to hear what the survivors are saying without being able to speak themselves. This could not only help survivors, but allow the killer to gain information of the survivor's next move if they are nearby. I understand if this idea is silly, but as somebody who has recently fell in love with the game I would love some QOL additions that would not only bring people back to the game, but keep those who feel burnt-out with same ole same ole a reason to keep playing. I'm open to any thoughts or suggestions you guys have or if the idea is silly in general.

Well, actually yeah if it was optional it would be nice and cool if the killer could hear. Toxicity would not be as high too. Although I worry for the younger audiences or mentally unstable people who still decide to use it.

Alright, I started thinking about this after @MadLordJack said that nurse was busted and OP and that he hated how people defend nurse because she's "the hard one".

Nurse is by far the best killer in dbd, and I see more people wanting spirit and deathslinger nerfed than nurse, who has even less counterplay. Now, I agree that deathslinger and spirit do need some tweaks to their kit, but why not nurse? I see people defend her saying "she's a high skill killer", at least with deathslinger you can break LOS and pre drop pallets, slinger takes a lot of skill to play, almost as much as nurse, and I see more people talking about slinger than nurse.

I'm not saying nurse needs a nerf or anything, but I just want to know why people defend her for being high skill. She has almost no counterplay, you can't juke a nurse, the nurse misses, and since she no clips through everything, you can't use pallets or vaults as well.

Very good nurses are hard to come by and just nurses in general because the nurse is not exactly the most picked killer due to her skill cap. You can outplay the average Nurse player by juking. However, a really good spirit or deathslinger can't be countered and are boring to face. Because you probably aren't going to face a very good nurse these days, it would be better to nerf others for the time being.

I was a main killer and I am going to leave this game, there are many big maps even I have counted 16 pallets in one map, infinite windows, I am bored of just playing as Freddy, Billy, spirit. they are the only killers who can fight. generators made in less than 3 minutes. This game caught my attention for the killers and I find that the survivors are stronger. You even removed the ruin and continue to help them a lot of main killers ask for the old ruin but u just think about new survivors but what about new killers? New killers have to play Vs main survivors because main killers left the game for these reasons, and everyone has realized that there are only a few main killers (red rank). Main survivors have to wait 10 minutes to play a game where killers are yellow or green rank and they escaped so easy in les than 5 minutes and they have to wait 10 minutes more... It is boring to escape so easy.. Veteran players know that before the game was divided into two stages, first it was to find the ruin and after destroying it you could already make generators. Nowadays just do gens and used god loops to escape...

Anyway, thank you for all, I am in different groups of Facebook, Twitter about this game and every day killers left the game for these reasons.. so you can continue helping survivors but every day you have more main survivors and less killers or weak killers.

To keep it short, I feel bad that yet another person has decided to leaved the game. But being successful with lower tier killers is still possible. You just have to think differently about how you play them. Look at Not Otzdarva, the madlad got a 50 4k killstreak with legion and almost did it with plague. However, if you want to leave then leave. I hope you come back and enjoy the game again.

    No.

The reason people don't play her is because she's just not as fun compared to other killers or her previous self. She's not rewarding enough in terms of entertainment for most players. (i.e. her "nerf" was a nerf to enjoyment and did diddly squat to solve the balance problems with her). The fact that she's hard to learn contributes to new player aversion, but you obviously have not given significant thought to the reason why suddenly all the Nurses disappeared after her most recent changes. I've had only five games against her for almost a year. A YEAR. And I've been playing DbD during that time.

Well that doesn't make sense. I have gone against a good handful of nurses in the past weeks or at least enough to know that she is still picked about the same amount as I did before her "nerf", so not all nurses are gone in fact. I actually do find nurse fun and and play her frequently at rank one along with every other killer and apparently you did too. Your original claim was that nurse is "ruined" and that nobody plays her anymore when in fact that is simply not true. Yes, maybe there just aren't that Nurse players, but was there a time where she was picked nonstop? I have been playing for almost 3 years now and I have not noticed a drop in Nurse players at all. Nurse was already a killer who wasn't chosen that often because of how hard she is. My claim is that the number of players who chose Nurse has not changed at all, she wasn't even chosen that often before the "nerf" because of her high skill cap.

Your original claim was that nurse is "ruined" and no one plays her anymore. But did anyone even play her that often before the nerf? Nurse is also still the number one killer in the game for reasons I have explained already. The only difference between how she is now compared to before is that her addons are much less busted and she now has to wait 6 seconds at most to blink twice. Not bragging, but because of how powerful she is I have gotten many 4k matches without addons too. I am not even the best Nurse out there and I am also out of practice too. Spirit is probably the next killer who rivals the Nurse, but even she can't annihilate a full team of survivors the way Nurse can.

Nurse players were already few and far between before her nerf and just maybe have decreased since her "nerf".

Nurse is still the most powerful killer in the game and that is a fact.

PS: With the cooldown addons, you are practically playing old Nurse again. That is as close as you can get to old Nurse.

  • "Being toxic" benefits the killer more than the survivor such as tbagging.

Im calculating if its worth to take a survivor out of a locker or not. Ofc, at the end of match its always not worth it. Gates are likely 99'ed and taking a stun is meaningless. But what about the middle of match.. 👀 Sometimes I feel like I have too many pallets around me and chase can take longer than DS timer. I play Piggy right now. I feel like Iron Maiden is the direct counter to hiding in lockers with DS. M1 killers, probably, shouldnt open lockers, if they have IM. What do you think about it?

I am not sure how iron maiden counters DS, if they are trying to get you to pick them up there really is no point in smacking them down even with the exposed status effect because you are still going to pick them up afterwards.

This is a legitimate question that I feel needs answering. When is second chance perks ok and justified? Can they even be nessacary in order to make a game more fair? We're so focused on the idea of erasing both survivors but what if the mistakes is not our. As a survivor why should I be punished for a mistakes that is out of my control?

Lmao, are any of them really? I can't think of a single time it felt balanced except maybe for DS when you actually tunnel somebody.

Of course the game would have to be balanced for survivor to be first person, but imo horror games aren't as scary if you are third person.

Imagine going against Myers in first person omg that would be so fun though.

@Yords Why do you recommend beast of prey?

Ah yes, this behemoth of a perk. I say to use this perk because it gives you hunter points, which are tricky to get. To get them you just have to find survivors, at least that is how I know to get points in this category.
