I feel like if you could gain a stack from a safe unhook it would cause everyone to run it and be unhealthy for the game. The best thing you can do is at least bring a yellow medkit with either gauze roll or gel dressing. Then add a syringe to the medkit and boom, three heal medkit. A tip for getting protection hits would be to take a hit and run when the killer is carrying someone since you are guaranteed to get a protection hit.

I know you said it is too stressful, but playing both sides gets you more value out of the game and is awesome
-
"Just pressure the gens dude"
But seriously that is a pretty trash ranking system.
-
Wow, it WORKED. I know it is just a silly charm but thank you very much my guy.
-
So I have heard many things about lag switching and you are telling me that by simply pulling your internet cable and putting it back in creates an EZ win for the lag switchee? Wow, that is such BS dude. I swear, the lengths people will go to in order to ruin fun for people.

I know it was a bounty to win, but I just thought it was some sort of contest since I skimmed through it.

Winners to what?

Kindred, WMI, WGLF, bond, and iron will. Kindred should be the one you should always have in solo queue for the sheer impact it has for everyone. WMI so you can reset your boosted team who has most likely taken unnecessary hits. WGLF if a good killer slugs you teammates even for about 30 secs, you can quickly get them back up. Iron will is just for yourself to make sure you stay alive long enough to pull something off. Bond to help you figure out what you team is doing. Kindred is without a doubt, the best one of all along with iron will and should be the one you bring every game. The rest is up to you really.

So, you are playing survivor and the match starts. I have seen people do different things at the start of the match and of course the way people act at first might change depending on what they have around them. Did they start near a gen? Or a totem or a chest? Let's imagine the match starts and there is nothing or anyone near you. What is usually the first thing you do?
I check for ruin and if not then I work on a gen.

It's fine how it is. Dont tunnel, it's timer runs out. No issue.
It really isnt that difficult
I have been in situations where I have literally hooked every other survivor and have still gotten stunned with DS by the first survivor I hooked. Also, you have a full minute of invincibility where you can do anything you want which is too powerful in some situations and can feel pretty unfair. It is an issue, and one that should definitely be changed.

I was playing survivor in one match where there was a twitch guy playing the killer. Every time I pallet stun here I did slap and point finger motion at her, and blinded her while breaking pallet. I wasn't stream sniping her - I just do it all the time. After she got me, she started to facecamp and reveal my steam profile to viewers. Lol I mean it's just a game why would u even play dbd if u get offended by hand gesture?
Yes, that can be annoying to some killers and also make them believe that you are a toxic player. It is the same thing with tbagging.

I noticed that in a recent discussion about which killers people hate facing, Ghostie was listed by a lot of people, and I'm curious as to why? He's not incredibly difficult to deal with, at least in my opinion.
As a Ghostface main, the tried and true tactic against him is just "hold w" and looping. If it's about his "totally working" reveal mechanic, then yeah - I get that. Bugs aside, I think he's a decently balanced killer.
Probably because his reveal mechanic is horrible for both sides.

@snowflake102 said:
It's either these three.
(1) should I unlock Oni and why? I'm most likely going to get him first.
(2) or death slinger and why should I unlock him? 2nd pick but not sure.
(3) or new killer again not sure about this one.
It's either Oni or death slinger?
I recommend Oni, he is so fun to play as. Same for slinger though. They both don't require addons and are very good killers in general. Oni is fun for both sides, but deathslinger is only really fun for the person playing as him.

I am the same way. I basically start abandoning everything I know when I'm playing against Trapper.
lmao, I am so lost on what to do if he catches me while I am trying to find his traps. Its funny because I am very good otherwise.

@MadLordJack said:
No matter what, when I play survivor I always end up being so altruistic you'd mistake me for a SWF partner, and it super backfires a LOT. I try gen builds, I try aggressive chase builds, and no matter what I always end up running over to take hits and pick people up just to take their place. I almost never run BT just because I will 100% always bodyblock if I have to go for an unsafe unhook, injured or otherwise. And... Free snowballs? But I can't help it, it's just so satisfying making sure everyone else survives for as long as possible.
Then on the killer side I cannot help but be super aggressive. Screw generators, screw good tactics, if I'm not chasing 3 people at once then I'm doing something wrong. Downtime is my enemy. Got 2 hooks next to each other? I'm probably on the other side of the map, trying to get a third while I blatantly ignoring all the advice I ever give other killers and possibly throwing the game.
I usually end up panicking against trapper in solo queue, but that is about it.
-
Just take away the ability to choose where hatch spawns, or maybe show the aura of all structures near or inside of main building since that makes sense with Felix's backstory. Good for newer players without effecting perks, but the devs decided to buff technician for new players.
-
I don't play him that much anymore because they changed his movement. It is so clunky and bad that I just can't play like I used to with him. Really sad, he was probably the most fun killer to go against.
-
Because we have nothing else to do if the killer is not chasing us. Please learn how to pressure survivors.

I use to keep track of my survivor games, so this data is a little old, from about a year ago.
In 137 games 48 games the killer tunneled
In the same 137 games 64 game the killer camped.
Slugging took place about 50% of the games with only 5 games being "full game slugs" This mean killers with 4 man - 5 gen slug builds (i.e. Billy with infectious fright) The majority of the games where slugging took place were situational slugging where the killer would slug a bad hook save or would see another survivor after downing the first and would chase 2nd survivor instead of hook the 1st.
Like I said this was from about a year ago, but I would guess my games have been pretty similar recently.
That sounds rough

@xXebicXx said:
So for Survivor I play Bill and I would like some suggestions for a good build. Can someone tell me a good build, or comment on my current one? Any suggestions would be helpful. Here's what I currently use.
Spine Chill - Because Spine Chill
Borrowed Time - For situations where the killer is camping or just unhooking in terror radius in general.
Deja Vu - To keep from the killer having a 3 gen setup near the end.
Resilience - To speed up gen progress when I'm hit.
If you are solo, I implore you to use kindred instead of deja vu, deja vu is not that great since you can just do one gen in the middle of the map and be free of a 3 gen.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Not that common at all, since I define camping and tunneling by their definitions. Which sounds super dumb to say, but there are so many people that think "camping" is "BT got activated" and "tunneling" is "DS got activated."
No. Just no. Camping is staying in one area, tunneling is getting tunnel vision.
Exactly
-
@BadMrFrosty said:
Camping is very common, like every other game is a camp fest. True tunneling on the other hand is pretty rare in my experience.
Now, bullshit hits and dead hard doing nothing? That happens at the very least 2+ times a game.
The bs hits are definitely upsetting. Also try using DH for distance rather than dodging.

Yep. If there's 5 gens, and I can eat a DS at that stage in the game? I'll do it, and let the person go after they DS me. It's insurance for the future of the game if I get in a bind and have to get them out of the game quick.
I see what you mean, I do this sometimes but I generally avoid doing it. Looks like we just play a bit differently.
-
@Ace_Ventura said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1716534#Comment_1716534
To be fair - if we're still at 4 to 5 gens, most skilled killers will go out of their way to eat the DS stun early. That's called strategy if you're pepega enough to USE it early.
I mean, if a skilled survivor uses it early it kind of still sucks more for the killer because they can easily get away and take away pressure from the killer.
-
LMAO IM SORRY. It is just that there is a big picture so that kind of takes my attention away from most of the text.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Hi, am at rank 3-1, depending, and honestly recently it has been every single game, at least recently. By that I mean, hardcore, will ignore everyone except the victim (usually the first person to be hooked), will eat DS stuns early and then continue the tunnel, will chase someone for 4 gens then stand hitting them on hook instead of just chasing a different person and will tunnel through BT. It's been insane and is just making me play killer more and more.
Interesting, just remember that this is just a one time kind of situation though, or an uncommon one at the least. This has happened before where I go into a few bad games in a row. However, it is important to know that this doesn't happen every game.

Depending on your stance about this topic, it's either a yay or a nay, but personally I'm happy about it. She needed something changed to her kit, it's just kinda a shame that they didn't announce it. Anyway, what're your guys' thoughts on this change? Good? Bad? Not enough? ######### you BHVR what are you doing? I'm curious to know, though please keep it civil. Thanks.
edit: am dumb, this has always been there, but in my defence i was trying to shiny huny a zekrom at the same time.
Has that always been there? lol, I have read her power a few times but kinda just skimmed over that part, I guess this was not a bug and is indeed, a feature.

@Ace_Ventura said:
Tunneling only really happens in my games if a survivor is farmed before the killer had a chance to leave the hook (and even then, it's just to slug the person, aka pressure), OR if the killer just needs to get someone out of the match cause gens are flying. Either way, both are understandable. Other than that, killers generally go for the unhooker.
Personally, I'll tunnel a survivor out of the game if they get unhooked in my face and force me to hit them with borrowed time to protect a fully healthy survivor. I take that as an invitation.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1716511#Comment_1716511
I doubt it's a matter of ranks. I think it's most likely a matter of them not knowing what tunneling actually is.
I see, but even then it is only slight tunneling and not an every game thing. I feel like the ranks do have some say in this too. I know that the ranks don't really mean skill, but it does let you know who is most likely a newer player.

I’m new to the game and bought it because it seemed fun, especially the killer role. But I have really bad anxiety and didn’t anticipate how stressful it could be. My first game put me against purple ranked survivors. I hit three people the entire game. No downs. No hooks. I chose Billy and kept running into things, lol. I figured it was because I was new and they were so above my rank, so I tried again even though that experience was awful.
Luckily, after that first game, I somewhat consistently got at least two other grey/yellow ranked people. I managed to get to rank 13 with Huntress and only Huntress. But it’s mostly because new players literally run in a straight line. It wasn't long before I ended up encountering people who knew how to dodge, and I realized I’m a terrible Huntress. It's kind of amazing how bad I am at hitting targets.
So, how long did it take you guys to get to a point where you were at least semi-confident in yourself? Who did you start out with?
I’m not complaining about being bad, by the way. I didn’t expect to be a pro on my first few tries, and I sincerely don’t care about losing. I'm just asking because I feel extraordinarily bad. Like, worse than average. And it's kind of discouraging. It would just be nice to know about everyone else's journey into becoming a decent killer main.
And, side note, I really wish they had a tutorial mode for each killer.
I play both sides very equally and I also play all killers. However, I would say I was decent until around 900-1000 hours. After that, I must say that I really started to perform well and I feel confident to go against anyone really. Online videos definitely helped me achieve my current level of skill.
However, it can be a bit unclear sometimes when a full SWF team brings a farm map offering and I only get one kill due to that player playing kind of dumb because then that person will tell me that I am trash at the game... I am talking to that one guy I went against as pig where he failed his dead hard and got grabbed right at the exit gate.

Your favorite Perk?
The only rule is: It can't be an older version, for example Save The Best For Last's simple reductions to both attack animations is a no no.
Reason why it is your favorite doesn't matter at all, but it'd be great if you said why it is.
Can be from either role, can be any Perk level.
Heck, you don't even have to be the one using your favorite to make it your favorite: For example, if you really like Kindred because of others using it so much (in your trials), then it can be your favorite.
Killer: BBQ and chili and STBFL are two VERY good ones I love using, but BBQ takes the lead on that due the the BP gain.
Survivor: Kindred for the win, literally.

I feel like this would work well with the doctor since he can use the high stimulus electrodes with the tape that makes his shock therapy really long so you can defend generators (preferably a three gen area) from further away.

Iri head is fine as is, even though it takes no skill to literally run up on a survivor until you're literally touching them and 1 hit down them with iri head. It does take skill to hit a long shot, regardless of what add-ons are being used.
However, infantry belt gives a total of 3 iri heads (I'm sure everyone knows this) which makes it absolutely busted and dog crap to run against.
Bhvr, please just consider making iri heads 1 hatchet limit a trump to everything else so it cannot go above 1 hatchet even if they wanted to run infantry belt.
I'm sure I'll get flamed in the comments by some people, but this is how I feel. I see a lot of frustration with this add-on pairing with infantry belt, I'm voicing my frustrations after giving myself time to reflect on my own gameplay. I feel like it needs to be looked at and have something done to it. A range instant down is annoying as is, 3 attempts at a ranged instant down is a bit busted. Pair that with most huntress players I run into just waiting until they are right behind you and the beach ball sized hit boxes of the hatchets, and it just, it's hot garbage.
Would be better if it didn't have the hatchet penalty and only insta-downed people 16-20 meters away from you. That way it would require more skill.

It would be so simple to make Wraith fun but the devs are obsessed with pushing changes in little themed bundles instead of just changing what needs to be changed.
Make yellow windstorm or better basekit, not visible from further than 16 meters ala Freddy, OoO icon is always lit up, wailing bell is always non-directional.
There. Just these changes would do so much for Wraith, he would practically be a new killer.
His green should be base kit, yellow is just a tad underwhelming.

I do

Kind of sucks, but losing more than one survivor is not what upsets me, what upsets me is how I can sometimes play almost perfectly and still end up with nothing. The SWF squads or sometimes just regular good solo survivors use the perks UNB, DS, BT, DH, etc and just let those perks carry them. Also, horrible map design.
