Yeah there's been "Killer OP" posts within literally 10 minutes of the dlc releasing officially before it's kinda tragic
Dam really.....wow that is sad and tragic. I step back from my previous statement, I too my hat to you sir.

If 90% of maps are survivor sided, and everything else is balanced, game is 90% survivor sided.
And also same goes for killers, if 90% of killers are survivor sided, game is 90% survivor sided.
I'm not saying the game is balanced in the least. What I'm saying is if a Killer plays sweaty enough then they will stomp survivors making it look like it's Killer sided while in inverse of that if the Survivors play sweaty enough it will look like it's Survivor sided.
Most maps are definitely in the Survivor's favor with the amount of safe tiles that can spawn next to each other, to the shear size of some of the maps, to even the spawn placement of Gens, Totems, and players.
For example we all know Haddonfield is the most Survivor Sided map out there, while Midwich or Wrackers Yard is more Killer Sided. If BHVR would balance the Maps and everything that goes within them that would fix a good chunk of the balance issues.

Oh absolutely not.
Really when has it happened faster lol...well mind you I'm talking about going live not PTB and I only have been on the forums for about a year or so lol
-
I mean a little over a hour that's not too bad compared to how the downloads where before.....
-
Only Maps are truly survivor sided. The game in general is who ever plays sweatier sided. I have beat a team of survs that all had Meta Perks including 4 CoH, but I played Vommy Mommy and played so sweaty that a pool formed under my chair, so people could say it killer sided there where if I faced the same team as trapper or hag then it's Survivor sided

I don't care about that? Why tf would anyone want a Michael Myers blighted skin? That ruins the character. Skins should be from the movies or the games they come from but the blighted skins are just crazy
I mean blighted skins are cannon the DbD and if the LICENSE HOLDERS want to allow it then they can. Would a Blighted Myers not be cannon to the movies yes, but in the realm of the Entity where the "Blight" exists any Killer could become infected with it. So again your complaints shouldn't be directed at BHVR because they don't get the final say what so ever on licensed characters, only the license holders have that. They are the ones in your opinion are ruining their OWN characters.

Why say that when I know who said that Sluzzy and a few others in this posting alone. I expect more survivor mains and trolls to come out of the wood works now to jump on the Killer OP NERF Now or She is Unfun NERF NOW Band wagons.

Its not the fact boons are strong that bothers me,its the fact that it conflicts with survivors wanting to cleanse,no one cleanses dull totems anymore.
I always cleanse dulls because......
1. I have Inner Healing and I can't trust any of my members of my team has CoH or know how or where it's going to be placed.
2. I'm not dealing with NoED so I'll equip Small Game and get rid of all the totems.
3.....I'll do what ever the *bleep* I want to make the game fun for myself and everyone else INCLUDING the Killer.

At least that survivor won't be able to bodyblock the killer for as long, you get a lot of wiggle room with 12 seconds. Not so much 6
I don't think current BT is super oppressive for killer except in endgame scenarios really. Same with current DS
Unfortunately it is kinda oppressive if used outside it's intended purpose, ie the unhooked survivor runs body block interference getting a free body block. The killer would be going after unhooker the the hookee, just like now with alot of games Survivors that receive BT will body block for the one who unhooked them.

If it takes them 5 years to add in a colorblind mode (which almost every single modern game ships standard with) I don't think you can say they care.
They clearly cared about the backlash, but if they cared it would've been in the game in Year 2, not Year 5.
Likewise, there has been talk of flashlight macro's being detrimental to people's health for YEARS. They give me a headache, but nothing as dire as what OP described. There is Z E R O reason to allow people to spam click a flashlight tens of times a second.
This isn't an us vs them. This isn't a "wah, clicky clicky flashlight." This is a legitimate need. Either BHVR needs to actually put photosensitivity warnings in their game (they do) or they need to stop people from input spamming their flashlight.
Exactly i don't normally get headaches when I play games with flashing lights but those macros give me serious headaches and I don't get seizers or have it iny family. By no putting a warning label on the game warning about flashing lights which EVERY game does that has them, they are saying "Come sue us we don't care about your health and safety".....wait....they already say that now
-
@Cybil said:
That sounds awful and I do hope they get rid of those macros. Thing is it was really irresponsible for your cousin to be playing games in the first place if they're that sensitive to these sort of triggers. I refuse to believe that a condition this severe could have gone unnoticed.
It's not his fault it's BHVRs fault for starters they don't have ANY warnings about flashing lights as a BASIC warning for those who are affected by those. There are plenty of games out there that don't have to put those warnings in because they don't use flashing lights that could cause seizers. But saying it's irresponsible of his cousin is a low blow that isn't.
Also there are those that never once had signs of being vulnerable to seizers and had no idea until it acthappens.

Block gens when game starts. Block gens when a gen is completed. Block gens when survivor let's go of gen. Block gens when survivor is hooked. Block gens when survivor heals. Block gens when survivor is picked up. Block gens when survivor finds one. Block gens when killer looks at them. Block gens when totem is cleaned.
Remember when playing killer took skill.
Hmmm over blown much....don't know why you used so many false abilities just to say your too lazy to go to the gens that are not blocked.....I literally looped a killer for 3 gens easily and I didn't use my Lithe or DH once. Killers still take alot of skills to get downs with the current Survivor meta. All CI does is keep survivors from speeding through Gens within the first chase

I’m curious about this. It seems the frequency is very hit or miss varying from each person. Personally, I’ve played against 11 of them since her last nerf which isn’t super rare but isn’t exactly common either considering I still play regularly and the nerf came out around 4 and a half months ago.
So, how often have you seen her in your survivor games? If she’s common to you then I feel jealous. I love playing against her so much!
Only faced 1 Spirit last night. Out of 11 games I faced 1 Spirit, 8 Pyramid Heads (Let's go P Head players), 1 Doc, and 1 Aura Huntress
I play Spirit as one of my main 3.
Spirit, Vommy Mommy, and Pyramid Head

Boons were nerfed at the same time Thrill was changed, not buffed.
I've also already covered that I only consider this a nerf in the strictest sense, since Thrill is arguably a lot better now.
I would disagree that Thrill is better now. Yes it increases the bless/cleanse time but what made Thrill a good Hex was the notification. Thrill was a good Hex defense perk because it allowed us knowledge when a Hex was being messed with and would have time to stop them. Now all it does slows down which unless the Killer happens to walk by and finds them then there is no threat.
In regards to the nerfing of Boons it was a fix to things that were not intended, ie stacking bonuses of separate Boons. So those were more fixes then nerfs
-
@hex_uwu said:
Nerfing certain survivor perks just encourages people to run DS/BT/DH/UB/etc even more. It’s okay for other survivor perks to be good, not everything needs to be nerfed.
They don't need a reason to run those perks. Out of most games I play the Metas are always in their loadouts, one if not all. That's why they are Meta perks. If BHVR wants to change the Meta landscape they would have to deal with the current Metas not try and make new ones.
I play survivor more now because I don't want the headache of Killer matches and know that alot of survivor perks need a major rework to shake up the meta.

But then these perks lost their main purpose. They would be trash.
I think they are fair. You can tell someone probably has this perk when they start running early, etc. Then next time you can play around it.
Also you can scare them with this perk still lol. Even more accualy, because they will think they are 100% safe.
That's the thing they have a point about the undetectable. The Perk even detects Mr Bing Bong while cloaked and Spirit while phased, Spine Chill was a early warning system for survivors. It allowed survivors to know if the Killer was looking in their direction, and by determining how long it stays on if the Killer is approaching them.
As for they can determine if they have Spine Chill by survivors leaving quickly leaving before the approach....that's not entirely true I have been working on a Gen with another Survivor and they get up and run from the first sign of a heartbeat, not Spine Chill.

Great point about the common argument that survivor takes no skill and yet they are also supposed to learn to play against killers and adapt to buffs, new powers, mechanics, etc.
Another common theme on the forums is that if the killer gets kills it's because the survivors were potatoes but if the survivors escape it's because the game favors them.
That's the thing many survivors on the forms have pleaded screamed yelled for Killers to be nerfed but when asked have you tried learning the killer in question and they say no the killer is just OP and needs nerfed. So sitting the oh so classic "Get Gud" state to the side they need to learn more than hold W, M1, and predrop pallets.

I agree with the bump being too long, I think changing it to 3 seconds would be a nice middle ground (his old stun time was 2 seconds, now it's 4). As for overheat, I just find it annoying that I have yet another thing to stress about as killer, although it rarely affects my gameplay, it just adds unnecessary stress.
Last I used Billy I dashed towards a survivor and was going to get a hit but then a little rock clipped his pinky toe and I got stuned. That is definitely what is hurting Billy the most....and his roar....please remove that dam roar it's not needed.

I honestly wish Father’s Glasses was still in the game. It was way more fair than current DCB and it also helped people that have a hard time hearing than DCB.
That's true because DCB has a dely to the alert unless the survivor is brain dead and doesn't care that my audio cue of my phase is right on top of them....which has happened where I thought I was playing the old jump scare Queen.
-
@GannTM said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2833649#Comment_2833649
Not a fan of DCB personally. Not trying to discourage you from using it though, it’s all just personal preference.
With me I use that combo because my hearing even with my gaming stereo headset can't hear the small sound ques of the Survivors with the ambient sounds of the game....years working in a factory has taken it's toll on my acute and sensitive parts of my hearing. MD Ring and DCB allow me to play and track with her. What's weird though is the hatred for that combo when the MD Ring and Fathers Glasses was a more precise and easy to track combo.
-
I get they want to discourage DCing from games by survivors and Killers but it's NOT discouraging it. Out of 50 games I play as with Killer or Survivor at least 30 of those games someone DCs. If it's on purpose or something out of thier control I don't know but putting a ever increasing ban system that there is no way to talk with them about is nuts.
Other games that used a system similar allowed players to fight the auto ban.

I don't know. This might encourage more subtle hacking forms.
I don't know about you but I would rather take 5 back to back obvious flying nun hacker games than 1 subtle cheater game. Not being able to catch someone but not being sure if he is actually cheating or not can be very frustrating.
At least with the obvious ones I can still dick around since it's obviously not going to be any form of normal match I can just forget about it and get BP
That's why having dedicated servers with server side validation would help. The Validation would look at every game being played with what perks, add-ons, and items and checking those set values with what it is receiving. For example Dwight runs at 3 m/s and didn't have SB, now Dwight is running at 9 m/s and still doesn't have perks for it the server will detect the discrepancy and take action.

I can only go off of anecdotal evidence but when playing with friends with it turned off I get a hell of a lot more than when it's turned on, as do they, so either we're incredibly terrible when it's turned on or it messes with the timing.
Considering though that it also messes with Power Struggle + DS it wouldn't surprise me.
I believe it's the Great Skill checks that's messing it up. When you hit a Great the Killer gets affected by the wiggle alot more causing them to shift more, if you combine that with Boil Over then flashlight stuns are harder to do because the Killers model is moving out from the original spot than where the save is being attempted at.
-
@Sluzzy said:

I'm not actually asking for a free escape, but a more punishing mechanic or perk. It is not fair a Huntress or Blight instantly downs someone immediately after a DS, which incentivizes tunneling. If the stun is so miniscule, it should be useable multiple times. They could give it 3 stacks or something. Killers are not afraid of decisive strike or borrowed time.
We don't need another anti tunnel perk there is enough already and most Survivors even me don't use them as anti tunnel perks. At times tunneling is a good strat just not being used like alot of killers are doing it at

That's exactly the reason why I played until I reached 1 million and haven't turned on DbD since then. Simply no point in continuing while the bloodpoint limit is in place.
On top of this, people usually play extra sweaty during those events. Which doesn't contribute to fun.
Exactly either I have sweat feast survivor teams or I get a killer using every little trick to get kills and BP....not fun at all if your a casual player like me.

It is likely, for example blight had scenes before he was in the game. It's just unknown when we are getting a spider based killer. If anything I think the anniversary killer might be Springtrap or Pennywise (note he's a spider like entity).
But if anything I think the spider based killer is more likely going to be an original killer chapter. I do believe it is possible to get a beast like killer as we have the Demogorgon
No more LICENSED KILLERS! They are beyond nothing like thier actual movie counterparts and we don't need another one. Now it's time for a original killer.
-
@SensualShamus said:
It's a fun perk, but I think one or more of these suggested changes could make it more viable.
1. Cooldown initiates after the hook has been fully sabotaged - choosing the right hook is often a guessing game and this would allow the player to cancel the action and switch hook if the killer changes direction.
2. Hook visibility - Perhaps allow the survivor see hooks when a player is downed, instead of after they are picked up. This would give the player more time to plan the sabotage.
3. Cooldown length - A change to the cooldown length to match the hook respawn would negate the ability for the killer to just drop the survivor and then use the same hook after it respawns.
What do you think? Any ideas, or are people content with how the perk as is?
Peace.
I hate to say this but no we don't need a resurgence of Sabo Squads. Sabo is perfectly fine where it's at. It keeps it from becoming a power creep with it's current state, I have already been seeing more duo SWFs doing both Boil Over and Sabo.
-
Ace...so I can stop tunneling and camping every Ace because of my deep seeded hatred for his smug little face....oh how I do enjoy watching them squirm on the hook as I stare blankly into their eyes as the Entity takes the life from them......I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM YOU DO!

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2832331#Comment_2832331
Well considering going from point A to B takes a lot of time with and without boil over as soon as you reach a hook you already have like few seconds left before the survivor escapes and when another one is crouching under a hook you will waste time trying to hook him if it didn't work you need to hit the one blocking you and they usually escape after 1 hit but then it's too late the few remaining seconds for the other survivor you're carrying already passed so you're screwed either way
Then that's why you use Iron Grasp. Makes Boil Over a moot point when they can't easily break free. Using Starstruck will also keep them away from you because they don't want to get instant downed. The only time I ever had a survivor escape my grasp while using IG was when they ran to a dead zone with no hooks or I let them break free because I accidentally knocked over someone who was just unhooked.....I don't tunnel off hook and if that happens I pick them up and let them escape.
-
@BadZilla said:

it's not convenient wasting perk slots just to use iron grasp or lightborn tbh but hitting someone wasted time for the one you're carrying to escape
Iorn Grasp isn't a waste of a perk slot and Lightborn only is if they have one flashlight or less.
Iron Grasp has kept many of survivor from escaping from my grasp. Also hitting someone who is blocking the hook isn't wasting time, your removing a obstacle I'm your way of the hook.

She is still a stealth killer. Weather or not she has a lullbay is besides the point.
Wraith has a huge audio cue when he stealths, does that mean hes not a stealth killer?
Yea when he stealths there is a audio cue but not WHILE he is stealthed and moving around, and her lullaby isn't besides the point because it's always going on while she is demanafisted so survivors know when she is around, just at a shorter range than when she is manafisted.
If you want to compare her to other stealth Killers she is more like Spirit in the audio cues, just with a flicker than a full stealth. Her speed is to also make up for how weaker her base kit is. TVs are not in really good spots to be used as a chase mechanic and they likely chance to catch a Survivor unaware is less likely.
-
@typervader said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829720#Comment_2829720
She also moves slower during her stealth and also can't attack right out of it either. Not to mention pig has alot of RNG in her kit and also lacks a good chase power.
Sadako is a stealth killer yes.
Again it goes back to completely losing the TR. None of the stealth killers, besides Myers but he is a different kind of stealth, can attack while stealthed. Sadoko is fully invisible and didn't lose her TR while "stealthed".
-
@typervader said:
Like, the orginal reason pig lsot her lower TR was because they wanted her to be like the other 4/6 M/S killers as they wanted to standardize it with other killers.
I'm just curios what the reasoning is behind it, espcailly because both are stealth killers are they not?
Also not to mention Freddy also used to have it lower and with her vislibty being made better, why not change Freddy?
It just seems quite odd to me they nerfed pig for one thing then turn around and change it on another killer later on
The thing is she isn't fully a stealth Killer when she is demanafisted she has a "lullaby" and she also didn't go completely invisible as well. Her "flickering" can be seen 25m away and that when the lullaby kicks in as well.
Ms Piggy loses all her TR when she crouches and give no indication that she is approaching except with Spine Chill. Also don't forget she can also initiate a charge from stealth.
