Eh, if he got 30k, he was clearly going REALLY easy on you. The cap is what, 32k? And 2 disconnects. To get all that chase, and hit, and power usage, and hooks... He had to basically hard throw for you guys.
If it was someone who just wanted to move on, he would have just tunneled one of you put of the game immediately.
how is it a hard thrown when we legit had to work our butt off to get 4/5 gens done with just 2 survivors? it was a rank 9 huntress and from what ive seen they're too sweaty to throw anything

I wish I could give you a good answer as to why they do it. I can only say that some people feel so entitled to win that they consider DCing against someone who didn't follow their rules is a win.
but it like literally hurts their teammates :( like its not even hurting the killer it literally helps them lol. idk i just think its weird ive only been playing for the past month or so and i wasnt sure if this was always this way or if this is recent

Just stop caring about the ranks and all your stress will go away.
How exactly does this answer my question at all? And the fact that it literally REWARDS the killer with 30k blood points is extremely unfair while I can only scrape together like maybe 8k before I'm hunted down because, again its just ME and one other person.
-
thank you all, ill try to get that Bond perk because its happened not jsut to me but another friend of ours. its us 3 usually playing together and whenever our friend unhooks us he just stands in our way and we cant get away and it results in just us getting downed again and going right back onto hook. ive started carrying Breakdown just so the hook breaks and HOPEFULLY i can wiggle free before the killer finds another hook

All depends on the players in the match.
If you are all good at playing immersed you will have an easy time but cooperation is still required, so I hope you can find better teammates.
Just be aware that if the Killer knows how to counter immersed survivors the Killer may give your group no mercy and resort to tactics the survivors may not be pleased with playing against.
If you want to control the match and make it not enjoyable for the Killer please don't unjustly complain if the Killer flips the situation in their favor.
Nah I dont blame the killer in any of these instances, they were legit just playing how I'd expect them to. It's really just annoying to me when someone doesnt participate in advancement for trhe survivors. I'd rather have a bad teammate who is a clueless rank 20 than a rank 5 hiding in lockers all game.

Oh, yeah, you're TOTALLY tunneling with a Survivor on your shoulder while Kate is sabotaging the hook you want to use. Like, what?
These guys need to learn that you physically CANNOT tunnel 3 people at the same time.
It's not a thing.
after rewatching im really shocked at all the mistakes im seeing. The Jake was Rank 4, Kate and Claudette were Rank 10, and Feng was like 17. I feel like if I were truly tunneling then this game should have been an easy cakewalk for them because if I tunneled just 1 person they'd all of easily gotten all generators done, right? I feel like as a Rank 16 killer I dont exactly have the skill level to tunnel 3 people at once

You care too much about this, you don't have to follow their imaginary rulebook. Those streamers are angry because they wanted someone to clown on and make youtube clips of. When that didn't happen, they made excuses to deflect from having to acknowledge their bad plays.
thanks, i guess i took this too personally. i thought it was just a friendly match and turns out some people take this game REALLY seriously.

You are still learning, learn to play with the opportunities presented to you. If that is classified as tunneling, camping, slugging, unfun, unfair, sweaty, toxic... realize that you are the killer, you are not responsible for them and their fun. Survivors are not going to slow down the game for you, they are not intentionally going to give you free hits or kills.
Play the game, make the right decision and if Feng runs into while in death hook ... take that present and ignore what they say in post chat. You can play like the nicest killer in the world, if you win... you are a filthy camping, tunneling, slugging baby killer with no skill!
My advise to you, if you want to enjoy killer... laugh at the salt in the post game and move on. They are just salty and poor sports when losing. Play accordingly to how you want to play.
Thanks, I needed to hear that honestly. I wish I had recorded my own gameplay because the entire game I was literally just in casual gameplay mode. i even remember feeling really bad for feng min when she went into 2nd phase on her 1st hook, and for slugging Kate when she tried to sabotage a hook. i think ill start recording my games from now on--i definitely wanna learn and after rewatching the stream the survivor did i can see all the mistakes THEY made, and then just labelled it as me tunneling. like why would yall heal under hook when you know Im so close by?
-
since kate was down i picked her up, and put her on the old hook Jake was on. i barely get 10 feet away when Claudette shows up (and in the stream the Claudette even says "i tried to be sneaky") i down her in about 3 seconds and go to a 3rd hook and place her on there.
since the stream is Jake's POV I cant tell what im doing, but they see me leave the area entirely.
jake goes to unhook kate.
i start to head that way since i heard an unhook notification
Kate and Jake are BOTH under the hook. I start to chase Jake but they end up doubling back--thus evading me--and who should I run into... KATE. so i hit her. "tunneling" i pick her up and hook her--just as i do so Jake unhooks claudette.
so i walk over.
theyre BOTH under hook, healing....
so i chase them. we were on a ledge so we all 3 jump down--jake breaks off to the left, claudette is running straight. i follow claudette becaase thats literally whos right in front of me. "hes tunneling you"
i chase claudette a ways away and down her
jake has returned to kate and unhooks her
i hook claudette(dies)
since i got the unhook notification i go back to the direction of Kate's hook--and whos out in the open: kate. literally WIDE out in the open snow. in the stream you literally see jake hide and crouch behind a large rock (smart) and meanwhile Kate is out in the open snow... so i start following kate because theres literally NO one else in sight.
i down kate, Jake is hiding in a locker. (and sees hatch about 20 feet from them)
i hook kate(dies)
after hooking kate i start to look around for Jake--and find hatch. so i slam it shut. i decided to check the gate furthest from me
jake comes out and 50% the gate that i had walked away from
as i come back he tactfully hides
so i go back to other gate
as im gone jake gets back on the 50% gate and finishes it up.
during the last 2% i get back to his gate and i down him---and then decide to give him the W.
this part of the stream literally everyone trash talked me for being bad and how i MUST be a new killer and how bad i was.
I know some have said i wasnt tunneling but i just legit wanted to give as full a story as i could. i didnt intentrially tunnel, i just happened to follow whoever landed in my direct line of sight.
if i was tunneling wouldnt i objectively be IGNORING other things and focus on one person? if i was tunneling Jake i'd of ignored the Feng min than ran right in front of me. if i was tunneling jake I 'd of chase him down even thought he was on BT. i feel i played a fair game, but maybe someone can shed some light on things since i posted the play by play
-
@Aquamarine said:
Depends what you mean by tunneling, and obviously it means different things for different people.
Technically it was not tunneling, you were already on someone else and then accidentally happened to find Feng as she runs into you. Unlucky.
Then again, you on purpose took this easy kill, prioritised a survivor who went into second stage and is now dead on hook. That's what you do when you try to win. In some way, it's kind of tunneling. Not fun for that Feng but then again, if you aren't clearly dominating that match, you can't think about survivors' fun too much. A lot of times it's either gonna be unfun for the survivor who gets killed early, or it's gonna be unfun for you.
It's a nice thing to do to give a chance to survivors who are struggling. I was doing it a lot in the lowest ranks, can't do it anymore. You'll find out that survivors are not going to give you a chance when you are struggling.
The Streamer even said their gameplay was risky because I maanged to hook Feng and Jake close to one another. But heres the replay:
Feng on hook
I chase Jake, hook him at a nearby hook like maybe 100ft from Feng
Im now half way across map chasing Kate
Claudette unhooks Feng
I hit Kate and follow her
Claudette is unhooking Jake right as Kate runs up to them (with me chasing still chasing her)
I try to hit Kate, nothing happens, i swing again and it hit Jake he has BT so he runs off unscathed (and steamer calls me a b****)\
I continue to chase Kate since I can't do anything about Jake since he has BT and I dont see Claudette anywhere. "(kate)OMG killer his tunneling me"
Kate happens to run RIGHT by Feng(who for some reason was still within like 20 feet of her unhook) so i hit her and she goes down
as i pick her up jake attempts to body block me so i do a few swipes to get a hit or get them away from me--and as this is happening Kate is trying to sabatoge the hook. i swipe at kate and knock her as shes mid-sabatoge and then hang feng. "omg that d** bag REALLY tunneled you"
like... i hadn't even laid eyes on feng since i hooked her. and then she appeared in front of me while i was chasing kate.
-
like at the end i could of EASILY killed jake and gotten the 4k but i was like eh it was a rough game for them I'll let one go so I picked him up after he was knocked and carried him to the gate so he could get out and they just IMMEDIATELY start trash talking me "not them using the LGBT flag" "yeah they BETTER give u the win" "thats what i thought!" "oh they BETTER be rank 20"
like how are you gonna talk trash about a rank 20 as a rank 4 survivor, WHO LET U WIN.
so at this point it seems like "how dare i kill someone if its right in front of me". according to the streamer tunneling is when "someone gets unhooked and you're right back on them again so you can kill them".
so, if for example, Kate gets unhooked and I'm walking over i SHOULD NOT hit kate--at all, and instead go for another survivor. even if kate is literally right in front of me. and under a hook... being healed. but... ok.
idk. if thats what tunneling is then i guess ill keep that in mind
-
@OldHunterLight said:
That doesn't sound like tunneling.
Tunneling is actually going for that player, if they run towards you whose fault is it? Not yours, they decided not to save while you are in the opposite of the map? Not your fault.
You can say this is tunneling --> you hook feng after she got unhooked you left whatever you were doing just to down her again and kill her, which from what I could tell by reading you didn't do.
What they are saying sounds like they are finding an excuse or a scapegoat as why they lost.
I kinda wish I hadn't watched the stream they said really mean things about me and I legit was just playing. Like my entire game I was just kinda bubblegum chilling like "yo someone get feng she's on 2nd state" "yo kate i respect u for trying to sabotage but i dont think its gonna work" like i was legit just bopping around and would follow whoever crossed my vision.
I'd post the stream but the streamer themselves was polite and cordial to me when I spoke to them I just wish I could post the vid of gameplay. During the beginning there was a bit of along chase with Jake, would that be considered tunneling?
-
UPDATE: So I just watched the twitch to see from their point of view was--LITERALY NO MATTER WHO I CHASED i was consdiered tunneling.
Then they kinda started accusing me of being anti-lgtbq because I was killing them? And "why do they have the flag charm this feels very anti"
and im like WHAT.
The entire portion of the stream I was called tunneling no matter who I went after.
There was a bit where I was hooking Claudette just as Jake was unhooking Kate--so when I heard the notification, I just walked back over and they both were literally UNDER HOOK healing... so I hit them.
"Wow, they're REALLY tunneling"
I grab Kate and put her back on hook, and I hear Claudette get unhooked so I simply just walk back to that hook--and there they are, right under THAT hook. They both run and Claudette just happened to be closest to me so I hit her
"They're tunneling AGAIN"
Like bro #########? Is this how survivors hit rank 4?
-
Alright, I think I got a handle on things now. Thank you all for your answers, it definitely shed a little light on things. I'm normally a Legion main but I wanted to try executioner and it's been rough today with all the high ranks lol. I have yet to Mori anyone and I at least wanna see what it looks like

That is one of the reason people who try to learn killer drop the role or drop the game. Honestly i saw more toxic survivor in this game compare to the other 9 player i got in my game of league of legend
i try not to let it get to me, and if it was a close match i can deff tolerate some smack and whatnot--but its not exactly a flex to absolutely crush someone whos literally 3 rank tiers below you. Like really? Just seems uncouth
-
literally on one is making any sense in these explanations :( like im legit wanting to know why ALL MY GAMES now are putting me against rank 5-9 survivors, when im literally still rank 18. and then they're literally talking smack to me in the post game like "LOL we so cracked were u LOST BRO lullllll"

Smurfs are a real issue in this game. Many new players get scared away from killers by red ranks pretending to be rank 20s and giving them the most brutal defeat imaginable.
But IM the Rank 18... the survivors are Rank 5. They arent smurfs and neither am I.

Killer is harder to learn. Baby killer is easy, then once you get to mid-tier it’s insanely hard.
Finally once you master killer it goes back to being relatively easy (although usually pretty annoying).
All the baby killers get gen rushed and quit before the huge learning curve is complete.
I mean thats fine and all I deff dont mind the growing pains--but why am I, a Rank 18 killer, being paired up against Rank 5 Survivors? Like that seems a little... rough lol. It's like trying to beat your dad at basketball when youre 5.

You’re reading an awful lot into how players are playing against you, but I’m the one projecting here. Got it. Whatever. You can’t stereotype console and PC players like that. There are tons of players that frown upon farming. Not everybody likes to be given the hatch. It isn’t a PC/console thing. Some peole just want to do things for themselves.
Okay, sorry that last killer didn't give you hatch buddy lol. But after 5 hours of continuous killer gameplay tonight I just thought it was odd how the only survivors who were quitting mid-game via open-space tea bagging or disconnecting after their down were console players. Was thinking maybe I missed something in gameplay or whatever, I even thought maybe I was being too harsh as a killer--but oyu wanna take this as a big personall afront to ALL survivors somehow lol.

I’m not mad. But you seem a little over sensitive to how others behave towards you. You’re upset with survivors struggling. They get more bloodpoints if they struggle even if you’re leading them to the hatch. Ask yourself: why are you getting offended over that? Why do you think that I sound mad? Maybe it isn’t us here. Just saying.
I think you're looking too deep man lol I'm just farming BP on Legion and noticed console players just do not want hatch given to them so I thought maybe theres some PC-to-Console communication I'm missing here. Yooure projecting a lot

Well, I just got out of a match against a killer that downed me at the hatch, and even though I was the last person, had an anniversary med pack therefore no key, and had crows circling me so obviously no DS, he still decided to let me bleed out until there was literally less than 10 seconds left of the DGC. So enough with the complaints about survivors. They are NOT the only ones being pointlessly mean.
Wow, you sound a TEENY bit mad lol. I wasn't even blaming survivors. I said console players. Whether they're on my team, or I'm playing against them--they got a bit of a different vibe to them thats not as playful as PC players. You still seem REALLY mad about your loss.

The problem is trust has been shattered between survivors and killers, especially since some drop them near hatch to close it in their face. I hate that and I play killer.
Sometimes if I hit something with my weapon a couple of times then swing in the air at nothing the survivor won't struggle, then they get hatch. However if they have not bothered taking notice of me abusing the environmental objects and struggle then it's to the nearest hook they go, unless hatch is between us and the hook.
what a sad world we live in when a lone survivor cant trust a ruthless killer to let them escape :(

Are you sure you were chased? All I know, height should be higher than cliff, and you should be chased. I didn't have problems with this challenge.
Yeah I'm certain I was, the killer's red stain would literally be like ON my back Idk how much closer they want the killer on me with out needleslly risking a free hit for the killer. And I've done all these falls "safely", without getting hit by the killer or while being injured. I was starting to think it's a bug honestly, and I'm just really frustrated at this point. I wish the game would let us just not do some challenges, like the daily ones we get to at least delete one.

@Aquamarine said:
Depends on context. For example:
- You got clearly stomped by survivors. If they return and give their items, they probably think the match was unfair and they feel sorry for you.
- You have won already and find the last survivor when he's looking for the hatch or tries open the door. If he drops the item, he's asking if you could let him live.
- It also means "thank you"
oohhhh, i didnt know about that 2nd one, ill deff have to remember that. i usually liike to let the last survivor live--especially if its like a Bill or something
-
UPDATE: so now im getting matches where survivors are literallty just evading all game? like they arent doing ANY generators and are purposelyt extending out the game and hiding. i cant find them because i dont hafve any killer perks like literalLY none im level 1 trickster and this just feels so mean

As for leaving their items it’s a sign of respect typically
The pallet drop was to farm blood points and/or to get points to safety pip
The rank ones letting themselves die was so you could get blood points and points to safety pip at least. If you don’t know what pipping is, it’s just progressing ranks, you can depip (lose progress, duh) safety pip (stay the same on rank progress) and pip and double pip (self explanatory)
ah! okay i understand now. i see the word PIP a lot and im still learning the lingo lol so. and i figured they needed points for clobbering me on the head lol, so i was OK with the pallet drop. i didnt give them a very fun game because i had to AFK so i didnt mind. i dont give up, even if i know its a lost cause i at least try to finish out the game with some chasing because i know a lot of rift things need chases/escapes.

You’re MEANT to be at a disadvantage at the beginning. That’s the point. No one is yet in a chase or hooked. They have free reign. How many gens are done early is moot if you can exert strong pressure from the moment you get your first down.
im still a new killer, i dont even have my lvl 15 unlocked yet, the disparity between advantage/disadvantage is so insane it doesnt even feel like a game anymore it feels like "hey you wanna get bullied for a few hours?" i get like a team of Rank 10-6 and they carry DS, flashlights, all this other cool stuff and I get it, yeah they need it, but at the same time like I dont have ANYTHING to do against it. i dont see how im supposed to rank up at all when im basically given a knife and the ability to run slightly faster--which then gives me a headache and practical blindless. like as survivor i was getting bored because i just crouch and do gens. so i tried killer and the difference is too staggering. ive been playing this killer for 50 hours now just trying to get the hang of it and its just an unfun venture leveling them up

Chill.
The game is intentionally designed so that 1 or 2 gens pop really early.
If completing gens was made difficult right from the start, no one would play survivor.
Many games won by many killers start with 1 to 3 gens popping quickly early in the game.
i get gens pop early, but the fact that it takes less than 30 secods for a survivor to complete a generator is INSANE. thats less time than it takes for me to even cross the map. im at a massive disadvantage because i cant exacly RUN through the map any faster, im stuck at my pace that im at. im trying to patrol generators and before i can even reach like the 2nd generator, 2 are popped. and i get survviors need some sort of edge, but yall are already 4v1, have all your perks ready, all pallets are ready--survivors already have a massive advantage once the game starts,

It gets easier. When I first started I was a Trapper and didn't touch survivor til a few weeks later. I rarely use anything other than common add ons unless I'm doing a rift or something, plus it always feels like to me you get more points as killer than you do as survivor.
The only thing I don't like about killer is you have like a foot of a blind spot directly in front of you so survivors really close to your model can get tricky on you if your game sense doesn't activate, but I've always found patrolling gens to be pretty chill. Once a pallet is gone, it's gone. Stop the chase and go after someone else. They'll go to use that pallet and oops it's not there. M1.
its just gotten so miserable for me. like i cant even cross the map ONCE and theres already 2 generators done? like OMG dude, can i at least have some sort of chance? and i dont wanna be cheap and camp survivors or tunnel anyone so if a chase goes on for longer than 15s i stop and move on to gen patrol. then i get like survivors flicking their flash light on and off in my face? like im getting really tired of 1 survivor being rank 20, and the rest are like rank 10 and higher it seems really difficult to even learn when everyone is like 3000 hours in

Take your time with killer. A thing that trips up killers that don't play survivor is that you have a giant red glow that you can't see about six feet out in a cone from your character model. Survivors at loop are watching that red glow to see which way you're coming and looping accordingly. Learning when and where to manipulate your killer glow will change the outcome of matches.
What I like to do is right after I hook someone is immediately leave them and patrol generators again, and if you're not in a new chase by the time the survivor is rescued return to the hook. That'll scatter half their team. The injured person is going to be skittish until they're healed which will help you apply pressure. It's not until you get into the red ranks that you'll see injured survivors pushing generators so don't be afraid to tap multiple survivors with your weapons. From there it's just a learning experience. Until you learn the maps let experienced survivors take you on a tour and watch how they're looping you. There's usually only one way to efficiently do a loop.
If you're ever in a situation where you keep chasing the same person over and over again, remember, that means three other survivors are free to do what they want. You don't ever want that.
Most importantly, have fun!
the longer i play killer the more i hate the game. i was a lvl 50 bill and got presteige on him and i decided i wanted to try killer out. BIG mistake. i hate this game now. im constantly against rank 1-5 survivors as a rank 18 killer and im constantly getting bullied by either the ######### in the beanie hat or a feng min. like i literally dont wanna play most games because every match i get is just insanrely hard against all survivors who are rank 50 with top stats and I dont even have my 4th ability unlocked
-
@Heartbound said:
They're attempting to parley with you. When a survivor dies they lose their item. That's the big risk for a survivor in the match.
They're basically saying "Hey, lets have peace and just be silly. I gain nothing by escaping."
I generally accept but well, it's on you if you wanna be friendly or not.
ohhhh okay. dang i wish i hadn't opened the gate so soon lol, i just wanted them to get the Win since I had to afk suddenly. i try to be a fair sport as a killer and not tunnel or camp or anything but im still SO NEW and honestly playing fair almost makes it impossible for me to win most games. i think I only ever won ONCE in a match, and it was against other rank 20 survivors and I was a rank 20 killer. lately it seems all my match ups are against Rank 8 and up and I'm still Rank 18, so it feels really unfair

@WeenieDog said:
what it mean depends on the context, but usually something good like a "thank you" or them comforting you after a rough match as killer.
It's the polar opposite of tea bagging.
okay, that makes sense then. like i wasnt sure what to do at that point like did... they want me to stab them, folow them, like lol i wasnt sure. and yeah it was a really rough game at first, those 2 rank ones were just murdering me (so to speak) and as someone who still only has like 80 hours in this game it makes it miserable for me to try and learn when im going against Rank 1s

To play Legion well, you have to be very good at the M1 game (I can link Scott Jund's looping guide if you like) and have perks that compliment your power and provide slowdown. I have a work-in-progress post about good builds for Legion, which I will link here once I complete it.
For now, here are ways to use your power more effectively.
-Practice being able to react to survivors attempting to juke. Missing one frenzy attack at the wrong time can cost you the game.
-Use the information killer instinct provides to help stop survivor actions.
-Frenzy healthy survivors instead of chasing them normally when possible. Try not to start frenzy on injured survivors, but chain hits on them are fine if there are other healthy survivors you need to injure.
-Try to end Frenzy in a position where you can block off a window or a pallet.
-The best addons are Iri Button, Legion Pin, duration addons, Fatigue addons and recharge addons are decent despite not having a potent effect. DO NOT use Frank's Mixtape or Stab Wounds Study.
Yes please! I'd love that link. And thank you for these tips! Overall i ahve maybe 50 hours of gameplay as Legion and I'm still struggling hard, compared to how I do with other killers. Like Spirit and Nurse are both m1 yer their mobility is far superior and they aren't punished as har das Legion is so I'm like how do I use Sonic the Hedgehog's power to be as effective as those killers

A lot of it is down to the build and not getting baited. Legion rapidly injures people and has very good inbuilt tracking, but only a (very good, thanks to low stature and quiet footsteps) m1 chase to down. Personally I prefer Ruin/Undying or Ruin/Surge, with Thanatapbobia and the mangled pin and Enduring. Enduring is absolutely replaceable, I just hate getting rubber banded directly into a pallet because the survivor has a shite connection. Avoid PGTW, that perk is the worst, it will lose you more trials than it wins, kicking gens is your absolute worst enemy, you're an m1 killer you can't afford the time waste, don't ever use Pop in a killer that is forced to choose between chases and gens.
And if you find a good survivor in a strong area, just frenzy them and leave. They literally cannot stop you, you have 10 seconds to find someone else, chasing them will lose you the trial.
Okay, thank you. I'll try to adjust my perks and add ons, I've had to try to many builds these past few days just to get him to feel better and I'll try anything at this point. And its a good point about the gens, I do take time to kick them and you're right, I probably shouldn't. But idk what else I can do to slow progess of the survivors down? I had a game last night and I was chasing 2 players, the ENTIRE game couldn't of been going on for more than 2 minutes and then mid-chase with 1 survivor 2 gens popped off and I was like... utterly shocked. Idk what kind of perks they had on but a lone survivor doing 1 gen THAT fast is in sane, and in this game 2 survivors had gone to 2 seperate generators and in the time it took me to injure 2 others with FF, basically half off all the generators were done. It made me feel basically useless because I hadn't even done anything majorly wrong, the game had JUST started and I got my 2 injuries right away. I wish I saved that game so I could show because I have NO clue what I could possibly do in that situation

Wait did legion get nerfed within the past few months? NGL I havent played them in awhile but I dont get the hate or why people say they're the worst... it's a killer that can get injures super fast, is 115% speed, average height along side some map mobility.
By no means is he the strongest but alot of killers are a M1 still so I dont get it. I guess legion requires more of an understanding on when to stop frenzy, when to use it, and how to actually mind game. I dunno I like them and I'd still pick legion over so many killers at rank 1
Dont get me wrong I LOVE Legion, idk why at this point its not for the wins, but he feels very uncapable compared to the roster of killer's I've played. I've played all the free ones and I even bought Michael, Pyramid Head, and Trickster and Legion just feels so underwhelming compared to the others. Like I FEEL like all I get is a free 1st hit on survivors and then--bubkus. His mobility is only from his FF, which gives him a punishment after using--characters like nurse can use their perk at least several times with INSANELY better mobility before getting their blindness/fatigue status, and its even shorter than Legion's. Hag and Freddie can also pop up almost anywhere as they please with their powers. Legions is "Gotta go fast!"
Like I wanna be good at this character, but it feels like there definitely is something missing to his kit for me. I know theres pros and cons to all the killers, but Legion feels like most of his kit is kinda useless most of the game.
But, you did say you were a Legion player and PLEASE let me know what you do during gameplay, or even if you have some clips for me to watch. The only time I see a Legion doing well on youtube is when the survivors are playing like complete newbies

They are viable. Legion just requires that you are very good at the m1 game.
That you do well with other killers doesn't mean Legion is bad. It means you are reliant on a power cause you're not experienced enough in the normal chase department. That 2/3 of the killers you mentioned you are doing good at are 110 with chase power also suggests this.
Once you are good at mindgaming and running tiles effeciently. Legion is decent. Only requiring one mindgame or outplay to down can quickly snowball a match out of control.
Also just because everyone is injured doesn't mean you have no power anymore. FF does more then injure people. It's stalls the game and gives information. Ofcourse your going to struggle if you just never use your power anymore once you get halfway.
Legion is one of the few killers that can "tunnel" a survivor while still focussing on the rest of the team cause they can generally find the deadhook survivor with ease
They could use some buffs and especially some QoL changes. But if you are struggling this hard with them no amount of buffs outside of ones that will just break them is going to help you.
Could you expand more on this? And I only ask as someone who wants to get better at Legion, it's not that I'm doubting you.
After everyone's already had their first hit, how is FF useful? If I go into FF again and attack an injured survivor, okay now I see heartbeats---and everyone is across the ENTIRE map, way too far for me to be in FF. By the time I get out, their positions will 100% have changed, and even if I COULD get to them in time, I'm going to be punished with 4 seconds of blindness and fatigue once I come out of my ability, giving them a massive escape opportunity.
I dont see how it stalls a game, if survivors are any decent they wont bother healing themselves--some even get perks to be injured while doing tasks--I could be making them stronger half the time for all I know. And knowing where a survivor is ONLY if I strike another one, isn't very helpful because there's plenty of perks that just do that automatically--so it being part of FF doesnt seem super helpful, at least not to me the way I try to utilize it.
I dont want him to go back to OG Legion, I heard all about it and it honestly sounded awful, but I would like at least a LITTLE less of a hard time. He's ranked as an EASY killer, which is why I bought him--and so far he's the hardest killer I've played especially with people saying you HAVE to be good with M1 Killers specifically--which is almost impossible when you're still new to the game and that kinda stuff just comes with practice.

Legion is a very good killer, they have the ability to slow the game down and have strong inbuilt tracking. You simply have to be very good at m1 gameplay, and not be afraid to Frenzy people that are already injured and use the tracking to hunt down a weaker target.
I still love Legion despite how horrible he feels to play--but I feel like if Legion was any bit decent amonst the killer tier list, I'd of seen him at least ONCE as a survivor. I've literally never seen him, and while still new to the game, I've experienced every other killer several times or at least once--except Legion. Like if he is a great m1 killer, I figured he'd be played more--like the others--but he's simply not. Legion feels like a survivor with an ax to grind. No power, just a knife. I still love this character, but... just don't see how they are decent. I even tried finding videos of successful Legions and 9/10 times they did well because the survivors were absolute idiots. And every tier list I find, Legion is wayyy down there. Either D or F tier

omg TELL me about it! like ok so I just... never get a power in this game, ever, apparently. like some of these maps are so massive I can't even get across them in time before it wears off, and then I gotta just twiddle my thumbs until its back up--and again, only useful if I haven't already struck all the survivors at least once. even if they all re-heal all my ability is gonna do is.... hurt them again. whoo hoo. they basically gave me a sugar rush---i go fast, then get a headache and some spotty vision.

Not really. I don't play him often but when I do, not really. You might think / feel you're getting tunneled but you're probably realistically not. Most killers go by who they view as the weakest link of the group and eliminate them as fast as possible. Some of them don't intend to tunnel, they go by who they happen to see first and if that's always you then unlucky. Also bad for you if you have immersive gamers that hide so naturally you'd be the one the killer would find. You're new to the game right? So grey ranks aren't known for their chivalrous bravery when it comes to the killer. They tend to hide even when they hear a branch snap. I wish I could say it's only grey ranks but I've come across fellow red rank teammates who hide in a locker when the faint heartbeat is heard! Wild stuff man.
Other killers on the other hand, will tunnel you to death. Sometimes just for the fun of it or they're petty / spiteful enough, especially if you've looped them for too long or pallet stunned them one too many times or simply made them look like fools. A key in your hand in the lobby is asking to be tunneled, make sure you don't equip one in the lobby.
in case you're curious what true tunneling is, it's when the player goes out of his way to single out one particular player. An example would be this Spirit game I had one time and is the finest example I have. When the game immediately began and my teammate blew up the gen we were on, out of the two she chose me. Chased me a solid two minutes and naturally 2 gens popped, I get hooked finally. Get unhooked and she completely ignored the other person. I thought maybe she was just going for the easier target, no big deal until I accidentally ran right next to my teammates working on a gen. She ignored them completely even though she HAD to have seen them and still chased me. Ran her for another minute, another 2 gens popped and finally she downs me again; second hook. Got unhooked and she waited for me to be unhooked so she could tunnel me out. A teammate tried to take a hit, take aggro but she completely ignored them. I ran her for the last gen as long as I could and finally I died. I didn't get to touch a single gen in that match save the one my teammate blew up that got me discovered in the first place and that was only for like, 15 seconds. I did absolutely nothing to her. No teabagging, no flashlight clicking, nada. Sometimes killers tunnel, just to tunnel.
I do agree with one statement made that in higher ranks, he can be tunneled. He has the Unbreakable teachable and that turns what the killer was already celebrating as a win as a turn around. He thinks he's won, only to see Bill got back up and unhooked Jane, got Cheryl off the floor all the while you're just now hooking David and low and behold a few short moments later, the killer sees they're all healed and up thanks to un-f'in-breakable. It's a game changer not many higher ranked killers want to deal with.
Not that I've kept a record or anything buuuuut, I've gotten tunneled the most playing Bunny Feng. :(( but that Spirit game happened to have been me playing my main gurl Kate tho so no bunny. I doubt it would've made a difference since she was so dead set (no pun intended) on seeing to it I was not leaving that match alive.
Thats literally what happened to me, when I explained my experieneces. I wasnt just unlucky I was literally tunneled multiple times by both trickster and pyramid head players. Like I'd run across the entire map for a full minute in a half running for my LIFE and the killer just chasing me down. One trickster literally left an injured dwight on the ground, BY A HOOK, and chased me around the meat factory for a minute in a half before he finally caught me. Like it wasn't just me being spotted, the pyramid heads I went agaisnt would be across the map and literally not chase any other survivor until it was ME they saw. Like I can definitely tell when Ive been caught vs being tunneled. Not to mention the numerous times they just SIT at the hook and stab me while im hanging there. Like i get camping can be a stradegy but being tunnelled for so many games in a row, I just had to switch to killer so I could literally get some play time.

To answer your questions, first off about the pallet. You have some options, if you don't want to get stunned, bait it. Walk towards the pallet and then step back just as you get close, bad survivors will throw it down anyways (since you're playing legion, if it's a healthy survivor you can use your power to slide over the downed pallet and get the injure). Another one is pretend to walk around the pallet, take a view steps while looking around the pallet, then quickly come back while swinging in the hopes of hitting the survivor before they can throw down the pallet they're camping.
As for Legion, based on what you're saying, you're playing him wrong. Legion's power isn't about downing survivors, it's about applying pressure. With some exceptions, you don't want to hit the same survivor twice while within your frenzy, as it will often times just lead you stunning yourself with no gain. When you see a healthy survivor, go into frenzy and hit them, if other survivors are within your terror radius, you'll hear it and start seeing this spider-wed like symbol. That means a survivors over there and you'll want to hit them, everytime you hit a new survivor your frenzy bar resets, allowing you the time to hit more survivors. Ideally, you do this until all four healthy survivors are injured in one frenzy, after which you end your power and then start chasing (though this will rarely happen as survivors want to spread out to counter it). Legion is very hit and run in his gameplay, forcing survivors to heal themselves instead of doing gens.
ahh i see, i think thats my problem there too. im not playing him in his play style. im still new to killer overall and ive only played legion, pyramid head, and a little bit of michael and trickster. ill try to chain more like you said. i wanna give my survivors at least something exciting, so far its just me giving myself a headache from failing to use my frenzy properly xD

Well, lots of people have given you advice, but I would say that pallet stuns are hardly the end of the world. Take them often and early and clear those pallets out. Respecting the pallet will often cause you to miss a hit or a down. I can't tell you how many times I've downed a wounded survivor and just had to ride out the stun before picking them up. Stuns late in game, particularly during the EGC are a stake through the heart, but early on they are just part of the job. In fact, I am more than happy to get that stun to break up problematic tiles which will allow me to defend the Generators in that area easier.
If Stuns bother you that much, look into the Perks that let you have shorter stuns or smashing through pallets faster. But overall, I would say don't worry about them so much.
im honestly fine with getting a stun, i was just looking for a way to minimize my mistakes lol. i wanna be able to utilize legions ability to slide over pallets and chase victims but if they dont drop the pallet soon enough its like... well darn lol. so im trying to figure out how to navigate better as a legion but so far im super struggling lol

Oni's perk Zanshin Tactics is good for learning pallet and window locations, it lets you see them through walls at a certain distance. Also if you didn't know you can unlock people's unique perks on other people's bloodweb if you get them to a certain level
For example when you get Oni to level 30 an orange "teachable" version of Zanshin Tactics will appear on his bloodweb, and if you get it, from that point forward Zanshin Tactics has a chance to appear on any other killer's bloodweb like a regular perk would. Same goes for all characters' unique/teachable perks
right now my biggest issue is keeping pressure on the survivors it seems. my frenzy seems to have more draw backs than it does perks, wheras some killer abilities let them instant-down a character, for me it makes it literally impossible for me to down someone. so my ability lets me chase--without the help of scratch marks--and if i manage to dodge all pallets i get 1 hit on a survivor, but then i get 4 seconds of blindness and nerfed movement, then i gotta chase them down again anyway. legion may be beyond my skill set :( i was getting a lot fo really good tips but idk if im good enough to enact them

Embrace the pallet stuns. Swing through them a lot, and if they're just sitting at the pallet, end your lunge JUST as they're within lunge distance. This can mean that when they vacuum back to the pallet to drop it, they teleport into your hitbox and take a hit.
ooo this is a really good tip! im so new im still learning how my attack even works (i didnt know i could hold the button and actually lunge) no wonder killers were reaching me from so far away! as a survivor i was like "omg does everyone ahve like a 6foot reach!?" lol

if you want to play Legion you need a very good understanding about mindgames and how to optimized chases.
If you don't they are very bad.
Once you do they are a very decent and massivelly underrated killer that can snowball really fast.
Other then that general things apply. Don't overcommit to chases.
Don't fatigue in front of healthy survivors. If you feel like you can't reach them in one frenzy. End your power manually and walk to them normally. Your power will be back when you get there
Learn to use the information Frenzy gives you. Even knowing nobody is in your terror radius is helpfull information
As for perks Enduring is good for the problem your having. I wouldn't run spirit fury unless you run the addon that breaks pallets by vaulting
whoa! tysm! this is awesome advice! im really loving legion and i didnt wanna give up on them too soon, ty so much for this!

The matchmaking system is a busted up piece of flaming garbage. Don't worry, when you reach rank 15 you'll start facing ranks 1s, 2s, and 3s. But don't worry, apparently the simple solution to facing people who completely outrank and skill you is "git gud". Just saying it now before someone else comes in and says it.
i figured anything i post would be accompanied with a few "git guds" lol, so im here asking how to git gud. im seeing already there are WAY more survivors than killers, finding a match as killer takes all of 2 seconds wheras survivor i got a good 5 minutes to chill. and the killers that are out there are REALLY good, so i gotta getter better somewhere! at least it seems ill get a lot more play time as killer, whereas survivor i usually got tunneled and only last 2-3 min lol

IMO Legion is one of the weakest killers in the game. I recommend running Enduring (a teachable Hillbilly perk) and Spirit Fury (a teachable Spirit perk) on them, or just Enduring because they're a basic M1 killer for downing survivors.
Also, respecting pallets (hesitating a pallet to avoid a stun) if they're unsafe is a very smart move. Just be careful to not fall for fakes, I guess.
And yeah, you're allowed to play whoever you want :) I like playing Trickster because I find him fun and love his laughs, even if people say "just play Huntress/Slinger." Or people not wanting you to play Spirit because she's stupid OP even if you find her fun, y'know.
I hope you get fairer matches eventually!
thanks for the insight :) i have trickster as well, i might have to give him a chance maybe his throwing knives will help me from getting bonked so much lol map awareness is definitely gonna come in handy to know where those sneaky pallets are, i was getting looped SO HARD by this one girl in a bunny hoodie it was so hard not to be salty

Yeah, playerbase took a huge hit when it took them like months to nerf them. Trickster kinda reminds me of them. Fun to play as, not fun to play against and he's weak but kinda busted.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2208506#Comment_2208506
Legion is definitely a fun first killer to play! Though his power doesn't help with anything but getting the first hit on survivors, the downing hit you'll have to do without the power. He's one of the only killers whose power doesn't help him down survivors, but it's extremely good at getting the first. He's had quite the history. Getting released and considered weak but busted at the same time, plenty of exploits to abuse, nerfed to the ground, then buffed a bit, then nerfed a bit, then buffed a bit and now he's here, in like lower middle tier. Good at destroying noobs, but bad against good players. XD Good luck wit learning the game though!
idk if the dbd gods were smiling upon me, maybe i learned how to paly, or maybe the survivors were SUPER BAD, but i just got my first win just now! i did my best to make sure i didn't tunnel or camp either, like if i hooked i just walked away and went to go find more survivors, and if someone gave me the slip i just let em go--but i was still able to win! super excited! still trying to find a work around for that headache they give him when he comes out of his frenzy lol, timing is key it seems!

Legion was simultaneously OP and hilariously weak.
im having a lot of fun as him, despite being comically terrible. but these tips are good to know! i read the character info and none of this was mentioned in the abilities so im glad i at least know better lol.
