This change removed about 4 million points from getting a Survivor level 1 no prestige to P3 level 50 and all perks.
Before the change it would have took about 14 million points, it now takes around 10 million.
Killer is less because there are fewer perks.

It was rare but you would get SWF that would intentionally exploit the match making system to do that. Like jumping from the tutorial to a SWF group would cause people to join with a rank 20.
My problem is this guy made a silly mistake and his solution is to go online to post a rant about how the gamr is ######### and the devs suck and they need to fix their broken game.
The tutorial thing was fixed over a year ago.

@martin27 said:
@Raidoku Yeah the devs you should change it back to the old way where 3 rank 1 survivors and 1 rank 20 would bully new rank 20 killer. How dare they not take into account the fact that some rank 1 brain doner was going to drag a bunch of new people into a rank 1 match and complain about how bad their game is for using the highest ranked players rank.
I don't know why some of you keep bringing this up.
It WAS NOT like this BEFORE the Stranger Things DLC.
It was very rare to face a Rank 20 Killer in SWF if you were red/purple/green and that was only because of looking for a match for so long.
This happened for a week yet some people here think its been happening for a couple years.
All anyone is asking for is some sort of balance in between, not one extreme or the other.
-
I'd rather have dedicated servers working and rifts implemented.
Using the basis of another event that most players enjoyed on both Killer and Survivor is not a problem.

But wait so killers had to deal with for how long? And now survivors been dealing with it for only 3 days lol. If he as a red rank survivor wants to so badly play with his friends that are new. He can 1 let them play around for the next two weeks to get use to the game till rank rest. Or let himself derank a bit as they play against others their ranks. Unless being red rank is such a big deal for him.
This lasted for a week.
It was based on average Rank before the Stranger Things DLC.
Apparently some here want people to derank so they can then cry about that again for months on end.

So they helped newbie killers but screwed newbie survivors?
imagine you have 2 friends at rank 16, a rank 17 random but because you’re Rank 3 , you get a rank 1 killer.
It’s like we have one step forward and 2 backwards.
Doubtful any Killers think 3 R20 and a R1 Survivor going up against a R1 Killer is unfair here.
It's gone from one side of the spectrum to the complete opposite but somehow it's perfectly fine for Killers now, go figure.
They'll just to tell you to go play solo queue.
Averaging the Ranks was the best solution before.
-
I have a question for you.
Why do you think the penalty for staying around the hook in the scoring category is based on the radius around the hook and NOT the Killer's terror radius?

I strongly disagree, survivors have enough second chance perks as is.
It’s sad if I’m versing a Seal Team Six on comms all with the same meta perks? Okay pal.
It's highly unlikely you're playing a group of Seal Team Six Survivors on comms every single game.
I can see why it may seem that way though if you're playing the way your posts insinuate.
-
@Fab said:

Because the survivor being chased isn't in the terror radius.
So you want me to leave the hook and go to the other side of the map when I KNOW that there’s another survivor waiting for me to leave?
Theres no issue with my logic. It’s called smart game sense. Give it a try sometime.
No, there should be an opportunity to actually be able to give someone Borrowed Time when the Killer is stealthing around the hook and refusing to find/chase someone else.
If you're getting bullied with Borrowed Time that's just sad.

It’s not tunneling when you loop me in front of a hook then go for an unsafe unhook with BT. Explain how THAT is tunneling.
Explain how the person on the hook isn't getting Borrowed Time in this situation.
The problem is with someone who proxy camps and ONLY unstealths as soon as the person is unhooked.
With this logic why not just put facecamping back in to prevent unhooks?

You didn't play this game for very long because Wraith could always remove his TR as base power.

Because camping or tunnelling are NOT illegitimate strategies. There should not be perks that have a blanket effect across every single killer.
And as I’ve stated. Both BT & Adrenaline are very strong during endgame. I see it as very fair if one of those perks hurts Freddy more than any other killer, that he is compensated by being able to mitigate the other perk.
Strategy??? Borrowed Time was implemented to stop a Killer from camping BEFORE Killers could remove their terror radius EXCEPT WITH INSIDIOUS ANOTHER PERK, not their base power. Apparently you haven't played this game very long.

@Peanits said:

To clarify:
- If the unhooker is asleep, their Borrowed Time will not activate.
The oblivious effect isn't so much of a buff as it is a side-grade. You already would not hear the terror radius, so the oblivious effect was added to maintain consistency. You lose the ability to use terror radius perks on sleeping survivors, but you also gain immunity to perks like Borrowed Time and prevent accumulation for things like Stake Out and Diversion. You lose a little, you get a little.
But the point being, we did not add this change with the intent to make Freddy explicitly stronger or weaker.
Why is an anticamping perk even based on a Killer's terror radius instead of just a straight radius around the hook?
Never understood the logic to this.
-
Do you guys not understand why they changed this?
With the End Game Collapse and being able to grab there is no way to escape with or without a key before the timer runs out if both Killer and Survivor are at the hatch. There is a stand off for 2 minutes and then the Survivor just dies.
Hatch grabs will just create another standoff at the hatch with the EGC.
-
Wouldn't worry about it.
Don't know of any Killer getting banned for using Tinkerer at tier 2 for no terror radius awhile ago when it was bugged.
-
Make each perk in every bloodweb able to be taken to Tier 3 by spending the bloodpoints for it.
Cost for the perk stays the same but you are able to finish a perk in a single bloodweb instead of having to do three.
This would cut the grind significantly for newer players, by nearly 200 million bloodpoints.
They addressed this problem last year and yet here we are with four more Killers and Survivors.

Wouldn't be surprised if you actually did receive a ban for this if it was reported.
It's intentional griefing, doesn't matter if the game ends or not.

Right I’m on console so I shouldn’t have to look up things in pc forums.
The patch notes are on PS4 as soon as you get the update.
Select Dead By Daylight, press options, and select update history...
-
The Plague shits on solo queue players because most of them cleanse. Even if you know what you are doing in solo queue you have no control over the other Survivors actions.
On the opposite side of the spectrum she gets destroyed by SWF that know what they're doing and don't cleanse.
Seems good.

There is one really good thing that everyone can learn about the voice comm responses here, those who hate them as survivor, are most definitely extremely bad players. Even if voice comms were added to the PC game (they already exist on console), there would not be anything that forces you to use them, so every one of those arguments is moot. Making it to rank 1 under the current system doesn’t mean #########. Anyone, can get to rank 1 under the current system. Including those who know absolutely nothing about the game.
Once the new ranking system goes into effect, you’ll have a better idea of exactly where you fit, and where you should have been all along. This is going to hurt some of your egos, but 90% of you are not as good as you think you are. I play everything, Killer, SWF, and solo survivor. Out of all these, solo survivor is by far the most unfun part of the game, due to lack of communication, and survivors who are definitely playing at a rank seriously beyond their abilities. I look forward to the changes, and you should be too.
Not exactly.
In this new Ranking system Rank 4 will be the new Rank 1 with the majority of players in between Rank 5 and 12. Anyone with enough time will be able to get to Rank 4 just as it is now at Rank 1. It doesn't really change anything.

I still think once a perk appears in your bloodweb at any tier you should be able to upgrade it to tier 3 immediately, but it would cost more.I like all of these ideas but agree that some of the rewards are too high.
This would effectively reduce the grind by 160-170 million points, have no idea why they have not already done this especially for newer players.
-
I'd rather find games with two or three that are Rank 20 than sit in queue for twenty minutes.
Matchmaking on PS4 has been all sorts of messed up ever since the Winter Solice event ended.

Wait, so you're saying that going for the weakest member of the team is toxic? Why would a smart killer go for the guy who needs 2 hits going down when he can just run a weaker opponent into the ground and establish dominance a little more? It's the survivors job to survive, most killers can only secure kills when the survivors screw up or make hasty mistakes, that's a fact, especially on the higher ranks or when the killer is facing good SWF groups!
In the time it would take for you to die on a hook and are being camped, the 3 others can easily finish 3 gens (one each) that's not a bad deal (technically) the guy hanging there just needs to see it as taking one for the team... it's all about choices and consequences in this game.
Their vision is for the Killer to interact with everyone so it's a fun game, not camp and tunnel one Survivor to death while the other three play gen simulator and escape.

Originally dropping a Survivor worked to avoid a flashlight save.
Sometime later it was reworked so the flashlight would save at any time during the drop animation, not sure if this was intended or not.
Don't remember how long ago, but it was redone to the original state of dropping to instant avoid the flashlight.

If the Killer downs the Survivor performing the unhook with Borrowed Time the Survivor that was on the hook does not get it.

People need to think... before they type things.
The Legion is another high end, top tier killer people. Adapt.
Yes people, adapt to something that has no counterplay.
Forehead.
-
Trap going off when the Survivor enters the hatch is the same as their test of the Killer closing the hatch.
It's completely one sided with zero counter play.
-
It isn't because of the corn, it's because of the tiles and tile placement.
I'm not sure if there are even any tiles on the farm maps that do not contain a pallet (before the pallets are generated).
Transparent walls are a huge factor as well.

I doubt they would release a chapter that close to their Christmas break.
If they do the DLC before Christmas the teaser should be tommorrow/FridayMonday, PTB start next Tuesday, and release on Dec 11th.

NOED would be fine and way less frustrating without the speed boost.

They'll need to update for the Christmas event as well and I doubt that would be in January.
what happened with that fiasco, I didnt start dbd until halloween of 2017
Killers were able to swap powers (Myers chainsaw etc), Killers were able to use Survivor perks (Bond, Empathy), Killers and Survivors could run four of the same perk.
Lasted over a month due to them being on vacation.

I thought they fixed this awhile ago to prioritize unhook over self care, is it back?
I hadn't seen this happen in a long time when I was still running self care before the nerf.

Their idea before with the perks in the bloodweb was the best imo.
Getting a perk in one bloodweb and paying the extra 10/11k to upgrade it to Tier 3.
Would cut like 150 million points off the grind and prevent hoarding items to some extent.

What exactly do you think you deserve? How exactly are you being "thrown under the bus"? I simply can not understand your logic being thrown under the bus in this situation, it doesn't even matter if you already have 60 vials.
Everyone on both sides are being thrown under the bus, it doesn't matter if you already had 60 vials.

Play Killer and burn offerings, you are guaranteed points for event hooks.

Could you please explain why any Survivor would continue burning offerings and not switch to Killer after they are capped hoping and praying the others aren't capped?

Please spare a thought for poor time deprived survivors like myself. I have not even 30 vials yet between killer and survivor combined.
I like the fact that survivors who have already completed the event can no longer harvest. It gives me more of a chance to complete the objective.
and the survivors who have completed the task don't bother to bring in the offering since they get no benefit from it.
Sadly standard survivor behavior.
Unless it benefits them directly it doesn't matter. Yet they'd whine if no one was bringing them when they wanted them.
A Survivor not burning an offering should be the least of your worries right now.
Lucky to even find a game not waiting 10-20 minutes.

Get real, this is not about player distribution.
Otherwise the issue would solve itsellf, because a lot of killer already switched to play survivor, to play at all.
That would balance out if it was just that.
Use your brain. It's absolutely due to player distribution.
Once a Survivor finishes their vials there is no reason to play Survivor for the duration of the event because of the bloodpoint offering issue.
Think about it for a minute , why would a Survivor burn an offering at 30/30 and gamble that the 3 others aren't 30/30?

They appear in both chests and bloodwebs for the full length of the event.
From my experience they don't appear in chests.
Most likely because they forgot to add the event rarity to the pool of chest items.

I have maxed survivor vials and still get the 4000 bp when someone else drains a flower. So maybe a bug for some people? I throw up the offering every game also.Ofc you get the bonus. That's not the issue.
Issue is you yourself can't do anything about it which is dumb because killers still get the bonus for hooking.
The devs obviously ######### up.So people are complaining they can't drain the flowers thereby reducing the chance that another player may need it just so they can get the points? Killer only has one way to get bonus so I'm still trying to see the issue here. If you want the points and have all your vials, throw up the offering then do generators, that will help your team more then anything because they can get the flowers and the main objectives being done at the same time, you still get the points for them draining a flower.
I was honestly surprised I was getting points for other people draining the flowers, I thought it was a bug at first when the points kept popping up.
Guess what happens when all Survivors in the lobby have 30/30 flowers, the offerings are worthless.
Killer queues are incredibly long right now for a reason and it isn't because of a bug.

Yes, lets let Survivors stockpile useless event offerings that do absolutely nothing when you are at 30/30.
This event is a complete disaster.
