yeahh.. that reminds me of one of the reasons why I stopped playing Overwatch.
And those wait times in Overwatch were always a 3 to 5 minutes more than their "estimate." That is half the reason I am here. I got tired of waiting 10 minutes to find a game.

Doesn't the event end on the 22nd?

There are lots of toxic people, sure. But there is also lots of kind people. I have gotten more friendly messages in 3 weeks of this game than I have in any other online game I have been a part of.

Hatch Stand-Off '>' 2 Survivors hiding at the end of the match, waiting for the other to get caught so they can wait for hatch.
This is what I thought people meant by hatch stand off. It prolongs games so much and I can't really do anything about it except hope I find where someone was hiding who didn't rotate for whatever reason.

Maybe disgruntled killers are playing survivor and getting some sort of revenge on survivors by helping the killer?
Shh... Don't tell him our secrets.

There isn't really much of a difference than just suiciding on hook which, I won't lie, I will do if I want out of a game for whatever reason. The big difference is I get to keep my BP and experience. But I still "ruined" the game for others. When I am leaving, game was already ruined for me. So I could care less to be honest.

Every meter counts, it can make a difference. In other words, the survivor has a greater distance to cover to successfully escape. That distance provides more opportunity for the killer to down and grab. I was just curious why the change was done? I haven't really tested it out to compare.
From what I could gather, they keep changing it back and forth. Why? No clue. I guess they believe a nice middle ground can be achieved. It seems like such a negligible issue to me. I hardly care if they made it "survivor favored" as, well, the exit gate is already open.
-
Oh, yeah, a huge benefit. You know the killer is going to abuse that as everyone is leaving.

I want an occasional "Tell em' Freddy sent ya" on moris and death hooks
Oh, I love you so much. That was the quote I actually wanted, but you know, keep it simple so people know what you are talking about. Ha ha ha...
-
To be fair, you can lobby dodge blatant swf. I personally stick around because I come from Overwatch, the queue times literally stole my soul and ended my career and I was already dead and think about my family. Blah blah blah, you get the point, I have ptsd.
There was a 3 man swf with TwitchTV in their names, but you know, as I said, whatever. I was ready for the beat down and wasn't about to waste a queue as a matter of principle. Turns out they weren't even doing that well, I was concerned about nothing.
Some guy named rank 1 survivor was another time where I might have dodged if I did that, but I played it out, and he wasn't crazy either. Also he was only rank 3, misleading name. Ha ha ha...
I digress, you never know what you will get, but at the same time, squads with the same name usually take the game way too seriously and if you don't want to deal with that, you don't have to.
-
If you flash that light in my face, I am about to do some very disgusting things to you that survivor mains complain about all the time. Otherwise we cool, cuh.
-
Have you ever played Marvel vs Capcom 3? Compared to that, Nemesis has finally gotten some justice, if you ask me. I love him. Absolutely one of my favorite killers.
-
I am new, but they more or less all scare me. Wraith is the scariest when he gets close and I start to see the distortion. Or hear that bell and have no idea where he is.
-
I am not going to say no to a free kill. I hardly expect it, though. I don't even expect free hits at exit gate even though they waited like a minute and a half for me to get there after I finished escorting the other ones out. Lol.
-
I did that weird "what character are you" challenge with the Genie or whatever and got Pennywise as my answer. So he holds a special place in my heart. Plus Clown is such a poor excuse for a clown that I feel we are really missing that energy in the game.

The best nerf to keys IMO is that the person using it is the only person that gets to escape after opening the hatch with the key.
I do not mind the idea, but what about the achievements, like the 4 man escape? I assume they can't change these with ease given that is apparently the reason adept achievements haven't been changed or whatever. A developer stated that Sony was really prissy about those.

Survivor #1 is Hooked. he is Hooked Survivor.
Survivor's 2 & 3 are 'Camp Survivor', or 'CS'
Survivor 4 is Generator Survivor.
So Hooked Survivor is hooked. Survivor's 2 & 3 stand far from the hook, in opposite directions. The Killer cannot start a chase, as they are too far away. The Struggle Timer is now paused.
If Killer goes after Camp Survivor 2; CS2 runs away to delay a chase. CS3 moves towards the hook. Killer backtracks. Still no chase; Struggle still paused due to 'Camping'.
Same if Killer goes after CS3; CS2 moves towards Hook while CS3 runs away to delay a Chase triggering.
Generator Survivor does gens, as Hooked Survivor is in NO DANGER due to the game seeing 'Camping'.
The Killer is now forced to either throw the game (and get 0 kills, since the Hooked Survivor cannot die yet), or chase 1 Survivor and GIVE UP a free unhook to the OTHER Survivor.
This was, clearly, horribly abused the second Survivors figured it out, since they could delay a Chase from starting by being far enough away. So it was quickly removed.
Ah, yes, I see. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
-
If there is one thing I have learned about what the power role is, or what maps are good for which side, or which circumstances the pendulum swings the opposite direction, it is that literally nobody agrees with anything other than generic blanket statements.
-
Were? That is my biggest problem with the game now, the outrageous hatch stand offs. I don't even know what was supposed to be a solution to the problem or how much worse it used to be, but I shudder at the thought.
-
They are going to try to address it on the 27th. For the time being, you can reduce it by picking vanilla killers. Nemesis freezes the game every time he winds up his tentacle, for instance. And Deadhard is a guaranteed stutter.

I do not necessarily have a great idea of what it was before, but yeah, I am seeing a lot of it during the event. Almost every other game or so there is at least one.
I haven't run into too many toxic killers. A handful of tunneler into face camp killers. But nothing too outrageous. There was one who was hitting people on hook, so I guess he was technically the worst.
-
To be fair, if they did make it obvious when she is phasing, they would almost need to compensate that with a buff which is treading near the rework category. Albeit, maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
-
I kind of like her but won't play her because she is too hard for me. It is subjective, we all have different skill sets. If Spirit is that easy for them, well, I can only be a little jealous.
At the end of the day, people will always downplay other people's skills to make themselves feel better. There is no real logical reason other than the boost to their clearly low self esteem.

If you mean "can you go for 12 hooks and potentially win/get an average of 10 hooks", not even remotely. If you mean "don't hardcore camp, tunnel and mass-slug right from the start," then yes. In fact, those are usually very bad plays that require specific circumstances to actually work in. Seriously, they don't help.
As for survivor... We're apparently all squeaky clean and can do no wrong. I never get called out for predropping pallets, holding W, using strong perks, etc. I get that killers can shut down any real gameplay, but come on - so long as I don't BM, I can be as much of a ######### as I want. That doesn't seem fair, especially given how much I use Lucky Break, Iron Will, OoO, strong medkits, DS, BT, the new Flashbang perk, Head On, etc.
Don't use flashlights much. Maybe that's why I'm so cute and forgivable?
As long as you don't use flashlights you are definitely cute and forgivable. You can do whatever you want to me except flash that thing in my eyes, good way to get me to tunnel and face camp you if that is your preference, lol.

Just give Charles Lee Ray some platform kicks and his POV problem is solved instantaneously.

This setup is just stupid. I had a 4gen on the same map once. Even with entire team alive it was not possible to do these gens with a clown with insta down add on and pop goes the weasel.
I mean you can still win such nonsense if the killer is bad and lets himself get baited to the other side of the map. But how are you supposed to win this against killers who actually use their brain while playing? Especially insta down killers?
Just keep playing super passively until the killer gets bored. People do that to me all the time and I just walk to the other side of the map to end my suffering.
-
I would like it as I don't particularly like killing someone early, but I rarely care enough to remember who I did or didn't hook. Especially when there are multiple players with the same character.
As everyone else said, if and when I tunnel, I hardly need a counter, rofl.
-
I do not understand why there aren't many cosmetics for licensed characters, do they just... Not negotiate those terms until later? Rofl.
In the case of Nemesis, I doubt it, they went mad crazy with Chris, Claire, RE4 Leon and RE3 Jill. Like, if there was a Nemesis outfit, surely we would have gotten it in that massive wave.

Right, Maybe I shouldn't have asked if he has the most inefficient power and instead just talked about Nem's power's downfalls.
I feel like the developers believed zombies would play a bigger role. They could infect for initial hit, or if you infected them, the zombies can deal a damage state. The issue? Well, if you play Nemesis, I don't need to tell you. Sometimes they are actually pog and let you style on them, other times they camp a wall with more intensity than a Basement Bubba.

@Sweet_Potato said:
Well survivors have to finish 5 gens, not 2 or three. And they also have to open the door, which is technically speaking another 1/4 gen.
Its quite obvious survivors can do more gens when they are all full health and there are no injured teammates to be healed or unhooked.
It kind of depends. Hatch exists and the killer can open the door.
I feel like you were missing his point regardless. Yes, they need to finish 5 gens, but the first chase results in 1 hook state (you need 3 of those for a kill) whereas half the gens pop. Being forced to heal doesn't really change that unless you get a hit, pressure gens, get a hit, and then go for a down or something. Albeit, I assume 2 gens would still pop regardless.
I do not necessarily think this is a huge issue as it speeds the game along. But you know, keeping people injured doesn't solve the problem and the fact that they need 2 or 3 more gens after the initial chase does nothing to change the discrepancy he is outlining. Maybe I missed your point, feel free to clarify.

I still feel like Pig or Trapper's powers are such a joke that Nemesis, just by merit of being able to tier up is inherently better (except for perhaps Pig as she has crouch and ambush to compensate for such a useless power). Trapper is still the only killer that can actively harm himself. The tentacle of love and desire seems almost OP by comparison. Like, don't get me wrong, it sucks. But there is no way it is worse than bear traps or reverse bear traps. No way in hell.

Why does everyone compare Wraith to random killers? I've seen Spirit, Freddy and Nurse. When will the madness stop?! He's not at all like any of those killers.
Wraith is the new Ghostface because of stealth. Except he is even better because muh movement speed. /s
-
I use Small Game because it is a base perk. I would probably use better stuff if I had it, but I can still find totems easily enough and hide in lockers while my team is brutally murdered.
-
This is the first I am hearing of people hating Quentin. His face was a meme, sure. But I never really perceived that as hate.
-
If they fix the crashing on the 27th, I am sure they will enable the penalty.
-
Well, I play for fun, which means my rank is a lot lower. I am rank 9, but still play against plenty of reds, twitch, and swf. I usually give it a try, but once it is obvious I will not get a hit, I usually just look for a different survivor to chase. Since I am low ranked, rarely is the only lobby a sweatfest.
If you are a rank 1 or something, you hold expect mostly survivors that play like you.

I just play him as a basic M1 killer because I suck with his power? Do I get low kill rates? Yes, but I try to make the most of it and enjoy the money I spent on him
At first I was like, why? And then I saw the sunk cost. I know that feel. I hope this buff goes through so playing him like Kpop Gambit pays off a bit better.

RE fans complaining about faces after that remake that butchered Jill always makes me laugh a bit. If it didn't matter then, it never will.

doing gens isn't the survivors win state, completing them is.
What exactly is your point here besides trying to twist everything, play how you want buddy, you're arguing with someone who doesn't give a toss about how people but can understand the frustration with tunneling but don't understand how killers can complain about survivors doing their only objective like it's a negative thing lmao.
Keep going brother, your paragraphs justifying tunneling is fine, I just don't want to read it because i don't care.
Nah, their win state is escaping. Ask them if they feel like winners after I 4k off a NOED/Blood Warden snowball. Rofl.
-
I never leave through hatch unless the killer gives it to me, so idk...
It has never bugged for me when escaping via the gate. I always get the item.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if certain killers had certain maps seeded. I played only Trickster yesterday and got Coldwind literally 5 times. I didn't mind because easy knives, bruh.
-
I think you just get diminishing returns there. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
-
Nemesis, Demogorgon, and Deathslinger are the ones that really stand out to me.
-
I do not understand the complaints, he feels very unique because he has so much going for him. The vaccines are kind of like Pig (but actually useful), the infections are kind of like Plague, his tentacle is kind of like Pyramid Head (but way less clunky), the tier states are kind of like Myers, and the Zombie AI are more or less original. All of that in one killer.
This game has a lot of killers who are very one note. At least Nemesis is dynamic as a result of it. Heck, his infection not dealing damage is already quite different. Maybe not in a way that makes him feel strong. But you don't get the "Nemesis experience" by playing other killers, you have to play him. He is one of the best killers in the game, if you ask me. I know survivors whine about any killer that can hit them while they unsafely vault, but the fact that he gives them a free hit should ease their pain just a bit. And with limited vaccines, maybe they are more likely to notice that half their problems come from garbage teammates and not the killer just being some cartoon super villain out to ruin their fun.
-
I really wish there was a system where you could offer 2-3 cakes as tribute post game (to avoid exploiting using cakes only when you perform well). I would do that for all the teams that weren't scummy as hell, which is most of them, but I really do not want to reward a group of clowns with a cake, especially when they ain't bringing any.
I always feel bad when we have 4 cakes and a fun match, and I can't take back my cynicism with a nice piece of cake... Oh well!
-
It is better to just play who you like at a lower rank. If you want to play Nurse and Spirit, by all means. But if you just want to use them because they are meta, I feel like you should take a step back and really ask yourself "why do I want this?" This game really isn't competitive enough for anyone to be concerned at all about rank, if you ask me. But you do you, homie. It might be more fun to just use those killers after all!
-
Best not to think about what goes on in their heads too much. It is dangerous, Northerner. Once you fall down that rabbit hole, good luck climbing yourself out. Those depths are vast, and empty, your soul will be lost for eternity if you are not careful.

It sounds like you're just better as killer. Doesn't mean killers get more BP overall as a matter of fact.
PS: You can't derank below rank 16. It's been that way for a while.
Really? I thought the rank reset placed me at 17. Maybe I was misreading it or something.
No idea what the survivor BP boosting perks are, but BBQ and Chili is lit. You get that dank 100% bonus. I rarely see survivors running the equivalent, so maybe that is why everyone thinks killers get more BP? Idk.
