  • I want the chapter to be licensed, 100%. I do not really play the OC killers. A bit of Hag and Huntress when I first started before I was sure I wanted to commit money to the game. But Huntress is level 1 and Hag is kind of pointless because Freddy and Demogorgon have more reliable teleports, in my opinion. I have enough shards for Trickster, so maybe he will be the exception if that buff goes through.

Now I expect an original killer, however. I would be shocked if we got another licensed.

  • Pyramid Head... He is just too telegraphed, and I like BBQ which makes me want to cage less, but the whole point of playing him is to use his power. With the lag on console, it is just WAY too hard to preemptively use his projectile.

Nemesis makes the game twice as laggy and needs an extra hit, but I would much rather use him because he doesn't make the ground glow or stop himself from moving once you use your power.

I wish I was good at Bubble Butt... It just wasn't meant to be, I guess. Still going to use him as my Prestige 3 guinea pig as, I hardly need perks for him if I can only M1 with him!

  • Nemesis is fun, he gives me a free speed boost and something to do between gen hopping, and sometimes the zombies are there when killer kun isn't giving me attention anymore. Oh, and he is EASY to dodge. I get hit by everything, but it takes him 2 or 3 whips before I get hit which lets me get more bold points or whatever.

I do not really care about his perks. I only check if they get a suspicious find. Like this Hag randomly yanked me out of locker when I left no scratch marks and there was basically no reason for her to suspect anyone was around as the gen was already done for awhile in the area. Turns out she had whispers. Lol.

Tons is an overstatement. But I definitely have seen it happen from a 2 or 3 man SWF.

I only solo queue, and 95% of the time, it's a killer coming back to the hook because they aren't good enough to create pressure otherwise.

It happens to me frequently enough that I wouldn't call it uncommon. I do not know the exact word that wouldn't be an overstatement. But I see it quite often. Maybe one out of five games, or so?

  • I suppose that is the point of the perk, you get someone after an unhook, regardless. It is decent, but like you said, anything that encourages hiding kind of drains my fun, so I will never run it.

if you get in bad situation in the game is only because you made mistakes in the game, you need to understand that killers right now are the power role, not survivors, killers are as strong as 4men swf, thats why solo players are mad and thats why a lot of solo players are going to play as group instead of being alone because the game is unplayable for solo, this is my last comment so i will make it short.

everything in the game beside map rng latency match making and bugs that need to be fixed, beside of all of that, the game is fine and its pretty balanced(around swf not solos).

I do not particularly disagree. I have no idea what that has to do with who would win a gen regression tug of war, though, which was really my only point.

  • When I realized you had to spend money to get OG Ghostface Killah. There went my Michael Myers fund, gone, forever! Reearrjcndnejd

its fine that you have your opinion, i have mine, and beside i dont mind the gen tapping because it actually help me pop it afterwards when i down another survivor if some other survivor actually tap the gen that i already pop a second ago. etc.. you tell a person with nearly 6000 that is wrong and you just started playing dbd, great.

No, this is a statement of fact. 4 people who can tap a gen versus one killer who needs to kick for a few seconds, imagine a scale, which is heavier, 4 piranha, or a great white shark? You wouldn't tell me they are the same, you aren't stupid.

The point I'm making is there are a bunch of killer mains complaining about someone taking a protection hit with Borrowed Time, when the point of ithe perk is to combat proxy camping. Which is why you are even having to hit the person with the status affect in the first place...

Nah, tons of people just rush the hook and body block with borrowed. Usually SWF, admittedly, but you aren't proxy camping just because you hit BT. I will give you that the majority of the time, you are correct. But man, you should see how some of these groups play. Lol.

all i can say is this, instead of asking for change, reach the top first. when you are at the top then you can ask for change, sound logical right? i dont think is fair for veterans if people who just start the game are having a balance ideas to enforce on others.

I wasn't asking for a change, I was just agreeing with that dude that the design is kind of lopsided. It objectively is, in what world can 4 survivors tap a gen and a killer needs to go through an animation to keep the regression?

I am not saying gen tapping is broken or that the animation is too long or something. It is inherently imbalanced, there is literally no room for debate. The game is an assymetrical game, so you know, it doesn't NEED to be balanced. But it 100% isn't and if you think otherwise, that is... Your prerogative, I guess. You would certainly be wrong, however. Lol.

HG is better than Undying. With HG you get at least the exposed status. While Undying is just a decoy perk that has no downsides for survivors.

Yeah, I kind of regret getting Undying instead of Haunted at the shop. Undying is a bit better to just protect your Ruin from getting cleansed early, I guess... But Haunted seems more generally usable to me.

  • To make him better in chase.

thats why its a hex, you can always use corrupt and pop or surge etc. believe me when you get really good with killer then over 90% of your games are going to be easy.

I mean, Surge is the only one I have, and just on Demogorgon. I definitely need to Lui Kang those gens in the interim. I do like running it on Demo though, it is probably my best killer and I wouldn't be surprised if it was just for the double regression.

its actually good design, thats why you have ruin to deal with such things.

But when they cleanse your totem though, that gen is about to get a boot shoved so far up its... You get the point. I will tunnel that gen with my foot if it comes down to it. Good design or no, the survivor gonna need to gimme a minute every other loop, bruh.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2362012#Comment_2362012

So you admit you're not actually skilled enough to win the game without proxy camping. Good to know.

I think I would have better luck tracking an animal in the wild than an urban evasion ninja, actually. Not all killer mains were blessed with amazing hunting and gathering skills... It hurts to admit the truth. I cri!

  • I respect a man of their word. That face when you ate it too, it is the same face I make when they stun me with a flashlight, surely.

  • To be fair, is the timeout genuinely a "consequence?" I mean, I guess it acts as a deterrent regardless... But I do not know, man. Quitters gonna quit, penalty or no.

  • As long as they don't make it worse... Again, I will probably be fine. I have been GRINDING this event, fam. I leveled about 8 characters to 50. Kind of insane. Especially as I haven't been using cakes unless we are all ps4.

  • Real talk, even if the perks were better, people wouldn't hop off BBQ, NOED, or Ruin regardless. They are too essential, well, maybe NOED is expendable. I just like having an insurance policy.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

I like how when people talk about how to change a killer, their first afterthought is "how fun is this killer to play against?"

Not how strong they are, not how fun they are to play, purely just how fun they are to face.

Back to actual topic it'd be no different than it is now. If people hate trapper (like me) they can just go and hug the trapper all game disarming his traps so you know where you can and cannot run.

You know how it is, there are 4 survivor mains for every killer main, after all!

  • @SleepyWillo said:

They've made killer much more appealing than it used to be. And Killer is now easier than its ever been.

I honestly dont know what they could do to make it less stressful though...

Probably an unpopular opinion, but pretty sure all of the killers they have been making, the 1v1 killers, are their solution. It is less annoying when you have more power in a chase, imo. I do not care if some stealthy gen rusher escapes. I want the guy who thinks his flashlight gives him bloodpoints for every click and crouch.

I used to be scared to play survivor during that time. The game was at its peak. Now adays though playing survivor feels cheap, I can run all the meta perks and just drop pallets early and never die, so I mainly play killer for 2 reasons, A because I like the role, and B because I feel like if at least 1 killer is still TRYING to keep things spicey survivor players coming into the game won't be completely bored, given the limitations of what a killer can even do. But even now adays I'm starting to feel like not even bothering with that anymore because the devs won't even try to meet halfway so you as the killer can provide even a little tension, fear, and entertainment to survivors.

The game used to feel like dressing up as a big horror villain in one of the nations best haunted houses that would send people into actual panic and fear.

Now it just feels like killer is a haunted house usher in a haunted house made for 5 year olds where the patrons casually walk by and say hi and you in your "monster suit" reach down and say hello to peoples toddlers and give them hugs and candy.....ITS BULL #########!

Oh, I definitely entertain survivors. Not by scaring them, no, by making them laugh. I am the Scary Movie Ghostface.

  • It is assisted tunneling. Rofl. We take those.

  • Generally I play for fun, but sometimes some obnoxious survivors make me decide to play to win. They are all having a laugh with their triple flashlight bodyblock hook sabotage nonsense when I play nice. But then I start tunneling and all of a sudden they aren't in the mood to swarm me. So weird.

  • Trying to communicate with concave head people has never gotten anyone anywhere relevant, ever. Don't worry, eventually you will meet a survivor with an IQ above their thermostat, there are plenty of fish in the sea, son.

  • @Shaped said:

You can play however you want and that is the right way.

I don't like bm but it is your choice to do that too like it is mine to react to it as I see fit.

I save my crouch as Ghostface for those who BM. It is a sacred privilege when I slap my... um... charms, on a survivors face. Clearly they are asking for the real deal as they dunk on the... floor? I am such a nice soul that I will give it to them.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

When I'm in the killer role and recognise a survivor who clearly is just starting out (by how they play and not their cosmetics - beware the evil uet cunning office Dwight!), then I will go easier on them.

I'll still aim for a 2 hook and punish any bad decisions, but will let them survive and escape, as well as engage in a chase or 2 where they can hopefully learn to read the killer and learn a little more.

These people learning right now could be the MVP's of the future, if people give them a chance.

I felt bad as I had a Bill who was clearly very bad. I am new too, but like, yikes. I had him at stage 2 in the first minute without trying go tunnel him. I slugged him like 3 times before I finally just started ignoring him because punishing him was starting to hurt my feelings.

  • I usually let the last person go as long as they don't run away at exit gates, if you run, I chase. I cannot change this.

  • As a new player, I prefer looping to be weak as I have no idea what areas are strong or weak. It is easier to just hold w.

  • The ONLY reason to avoid tunneling is to be nice. If you want to optimize your play, you would be stupid not to tunnel, quite frankly.

  • We could nerf her movement speed. We don't need her to be Sanic the Hedgehog AND blink through walls.

  • @TerrorUnleashed said:

On the other hand, I've just had the worst experience lately with toxic survivors. Body-blocking, spamming flashlights, keys and all... yet some others would call all those 'not toxic'. Let's admit it, no matter what us killers do, we're toxic. I've never tunnelled a Survivor unless I absolutely had to in order to secure at least one kill, and I don't camp at all. And yet, some beyond-entitled Survivors have the audacity to attempt to 'bully' me and just go out of their way to make me miserable (this is on Xbox, so primarily through aftergame messages), simply out of their own inability to play against me and a hook... so much so that I've considered disabling outside chats from here on out...

Oh yeah. Not to mention unarguably toxic builds which render me almost helpless to the aforementioned 'required' tunnel or two...

It is probably better to just learn how to ignore them without tools such as blocked communication. It is literally the same thing, you don't feed them, but the major difference is you actively need to see it and that allows you to chip away the negative response you feel bit by bit until you are so used to it that you genuinely do not care.

That is what I did, at least, and it definitely gave me thiccer skin. Which admittedly I needed coming into this game as a new player. I was really shocked to see my greeting. You would think for 5 year old paid game, the playerbase would be slightly more concerned about player retention. I digress, just imagine them teabagging and flash light clicking irl, would you be angry? Nah, you would definitely laugh. So do that in game too, the clowns are there for YOUR entertainment, after all. Might as well embrace it!

I'll be hanging up my hat as killer once Mmr releases.. lol..

Why is that? It personally excites me because I am tired of playing against purple and red ranks as a beginner.

  • If you ask me, he needs one badly. Outdated as hell and the only killer I ever played that actively helped the survivors. Ha ha ha...

  • Allow me to introduce myself, I love breakable walls. I like the control they give me... and also the free points. And I like breaking them because the animation is often pretty funny.

Please add more breakable walls than the Saloon map on every map. Thank you!

  • Having learned the horrors of DS first hand and how long a minute actually is in game... 2 minutes is just outrageous.

And you could more or less just exploit this end game to escape with relative ease.

  • I am in love with this game, but I am in that honeymoon phase. Having played Overwatch for 5 years, I know EXACTLY how you feel. And, well, I guess I would recommend that you do what I did and find a new game you can love while you take a break from your forever girl.

  • I would be shocked if they added mmr without a reward system as that is typically what is supposed to make people want to chase higher ranks. As for progression? Eh. Doubtful.

  • Yeah, I more or less agree. I feel like they are much healthier mechanically than the default game. I do not really think I should have to run perks to prevent 2 gens from popping as I walk my way over to the other side of the map. And I do not feel I should have to run a perk just so the guy I unhooked doesn't get farmed. Those are inherent flaws with the basic premise of the match and those perks are insanely popular for a reason. It certainly isn't their fun factor. Lul.

Lol spine chill has not changed. How is it being compared to a perk that allowed you to see the killer any time?

I'm a killer main and I laugh at all the calls for nerfs since DS. Now spine chill 🤣... Maybe just don't stare directly where you're trying to stealth to?

Does that actually work? Can you mark people as Ghostface while titling your screen away from them?

  • You could just make it so that Spine Chill is deactivated when the killer is undetectable. Or at the very least give it a one second delay so I can slightly mark them before the dolphin dive to cover. Rofl.

Why would killer powers be nerfed? Survivors stomp 95% of the cast as is lol.

For the 5%, Killing Time. For the 5%.

Nemesis isn't really an "I end chases fast" killer. I'd consider him a 1v4.

He is more of a "I want to chase someone for an extra hit" kind of guy. Nice guy Nemesis gives you a freebie.

  • Nemesis is the one that makes it the worst in my opinion. Not sure if it is because of the bright blue effects, or the ai Zombies with all the additional chests... Idk, but man, playing him seriously is hard.

  • Eh, the balance is whatever. Every game ever does that wrong. The performance? Well, they gave us an ETA, so I will complain after that date comes and it still is not fixed. For now, I guess I appreciate the currency.

  • I just got done doing that to a SWF for more bloodpoints. I knew they would keep trying to pick them up, and they were under a pallet, so you know, make lemonade and whatnot. It gave me 3 extra hooks, 5 extra hits... Great value, in my opinion.

  • And now even survivors hate keys! Just kidding. I have already watched a lot of frustrating survivor content where someone loops a killer for a few minutes and no gens get done. It is just unbelievable.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I really just can't get my head around a 1v4 game being taken seriously. That just seems impossible to balance.

Yeah, it reminds me of Mario Party. Some of those mini games were lowkey impossible for the solo player, and some were genuinely ridiculous for the 3 homies banging in the wrong hood. The difference was no flashlights to click... I mean, no one took it seriously.

  • I do not believe they mean to say it is hard to play against so much as they are salty that a free hit became an extended chase.

  • I don't get why self care is such a meme. Sometimes you literally have to heal yourself, at least at my low rank where these clowns lost their circus.
