I don't want to be a parrot... But polly wants good performance.

Playing any horror game it loses all is fear factor after playing it enough. My first several DBD games I remember playing it was really scary then after a month just wasn't scary at all any more.
Not just DBD many other horror franchise have the same problem Dead Space probably best example first game was terrifying cause it was new. Second game also great, but a little predictable. Third game really notice it being more action than horror since since everyone knows what to expect so can't get that same fear factor first 2 had.
First run of Dead Space? Literally screaming running to the elevator and needing to catch my breath irl, somehow.
Second play through? Treat the Necromorph like a DBD killer and bag in front of it.

it doesnt mean it was in the killers favor, it just means that people like Otzdarva, who play this game for a living for a good 6 to 8 hours each day are going to be much better at it than people who have an average of 1 to 2 hours a day and play this game a bit for fun.
i dont know how you even got the idea of comparing those two types of players 1:1 the way you did.
of course the guy with 8000 ingame hours is going to beat the guy with less than 1000. thats the way pretty much every game works.
50 Win streaks are INSANE and basically never done in any game with loose MMR. Once that hits, OTZ will never get one of those again. He needs to hurry up and finish that series, a$ap.
-
Not going to lie, when I started researching this game and learned that in 5 years they never added basic communication wheels... Well, I was shocked to say the least. Heck, I don't even believe this would be too crazy to be added without balancing around it. I already play against SWFs and red ranks anyway. This wouldn't even be enough to compensate for the solo queue experience, imo.
-
Eh, survivors aren't bad just because they think a particular killer is annoying to face off against. It is subjective.
-
Sometimes the perk is literally uncounterable. But realistically, that isn't most of the time. The perk has counterplay in most situations, but yeah, it can be completely safe and give the survivor something extremely relevant for free. I do not see the issue as that concept applies to most perks. Obviously Deadhard is actually good unlike 90% of the perks in the game, so the value is more noticeable. But idk, how would they even change it without making it worthless?
-
The week long thing saved and screwed me as a beginner. It gave me enough time to earn 2k, but I wish it didn't, because then I would have gotten it for 1.5k. Less, actually, as I just caved and bought Leatherface regardless. So... Unlucky.

You already lost by the point the hatch spawned then got a 2nd chance then botched it up and you want another 2nd chance? It's bad enough keys allow you to circumvent so much of the game already they don't need to be stronger.
If you think about it, run meta perks and 3rd or 4th chances aren't that uncommon. So I can see why he has been built up to expect that in the game design. Not really his b.

Im confused?
I can’t be the only killer that wishes 100% of survivors brought flashlights every single game.
Why not a tip on how to counter medkits to force a 2nd survivor to heal the 1st? Or a strat for how to play around hatch keys?
Flashlights, no one cares about flashlights
Yeah, totally! I never get blinded, ah ha ha... That sounds like something a baby killer would fall for. Literally nobody struggles with those.
Yep.
-
Buff Ghostface by making the person who revealed you have their phone ring for a few seconds. Heck, you don't even need to allow the killer to hear it, I just want to annoy whoever was staring at me.
Nerf Nurse. She walks too fast. It puts my crouch walking as Ghostface to shame. She should be slow to allow survivors to have a chance, clearly.

Nothing against Lightborn, but it's takes positioning and timing to get the save. Upon that, the killer can easily bait out the flashlight user by pretending to pick up or just use a wall to make the save impossible.
Again, I'm fine with Lightborn, but flashlights are fine.
How does baiting help? They can still just blind you when you actually go for the pick up, no?
-
I bought BBQ and Chili like the day before the event started for 2k, and then it showed up for 1.5k. Coincidence? I think not.
-
Resident Evil is a tough act to follow, not sure Candyman quite does it. Would make sense to use another OC to increase distance before adding in a b tier horror icon. Not that I would complain, would love to see him.

Not really. Wraith, Blight, Spirit, and Nurse if she has certain add-ons are the only ones that can deal with holding W. Everyone else can be dodged, even Huntress. Slinger to an extent counters it, but his projectile is unreliable at best at those sorts of long distances.
Literally every killer moves fast enough to deal with hold W. You just... hold W yourself.
-
If you are missing out on bloodpoints... Why would you ask for iridescent shards? If they compensate players, it should be every player as there are people on ps4 who never crashed and people on PC who are crashing too. And it should probably be with bloodpoints or at least cakes so that we can grind more bloodpoints once it is fixed.
-
I would assume it will come when MMR does.
-
I usually run Ruin if I have it. I do not really run any other slowdowns.
-
That is a thing? Good lord that is terrifying...
-
I do not mind too much as Nemesis is fun and you technically have 3 days to do it unless you were saving another daily or two.
-
Most perks are better than one that is only active for the first 8 seconds of a game...
Do not get me wrong, I love the idea of Lethal Pursuer, but, like, most perks are probably going to give more value intrinsically. Even the really bad ones.
-
@Anniehere said:
Same. but with at least one friend by your side is more fun 🥺
This, you get some light communication benefits which can definitely help with archives challenges, but you are, for the most part, still having the solo queue experience.
-
I was watching an OTZ game where at least 3 of them had it and literally escaped as a result of it. But I genuinely feel those situations are rare and I would rather play against that than DS. Deadhard is well designed in my opinion and killers are designed to catch survivors, so often they need to use it not because they made a mistake, but to delay the inevitable. DS requires you to be useless for a minute and the people who run it have no issue figuring that out, rofl.
-
I will take a free kill, for sure. If it was a devastating loss where everyone ran circles around me, that one act of kindness trumps the bad experience 100%. I always make sure to give their profile a thumbs up even if I have no idea what that does. Lol.
-
It is going great. I have 3 killers at level 50. I have one at 45 (actually had every perk I needed by 40, but then I accidentally leveled one of them to 41, so my OCD kicked in). One killer at 40. 2 killers to 30. And some excessive 9 levels I threw on someone before I bought more killers. Rofl.
Oh, and a survivor to 50.
Very great progress for a beginner if I do say so myself. My goal is to get the level 40 killer and the two level 30 killers maxed, and maybe a few extra levels to fish for BBQ, Ruin, or NOED, depending on what they are missing. Maybe finish up the level 45 who doesn't need it just to make the page only level 1 or 50 besides whoever I am working on.

It was until they added killers like Bubba that made basement absurdly dangerous.
Just cause it wasnt a problem in the past, doesnt mean it isnt now, thats the thing, the game changes, and so far the basement has become worse and worse to the point of being absurd with some killers.
I feel the problem is still overstated. Go for a safe unhook as in, actually safe, and not what the game tells you is safe. Or if that is impossible, gen rush and make the poor soul lost down there the ONLY one.
It would be a problem if generators were blocked while someone was hooked down there.

Really? I kind of think the same way for Ash because most of the stuff he appears in is more action/comedy than horror but he still works for dbd. The only thing that would be weird for Castlevania IMO is that Simon or Richter would look really out of place cuz they're from the middle ages.
I think it is weird that they chose his TV show version, but the OG Evil Dead is absolutely horror. That's like the worst one, but still!
-
I have been flashlighted while looking away. I have never been flashbanged despite sometimes directly looking at it out of curiosity as to what just moved. Just saiyan.
-
I have only been hard slugged once by this real piece of work that did it for no aoparent reason at end game. Otherwise, I guess I have been slugged temporarily now and again when they need to chase someone who was right by me, nothing egregious. They always come back and hook me first, or waste enough time that unbreakable gets me up anyways. Maybe once every 5 games.
-
Eh, hex perks are weird. Generally I feel they are overpowered when left alone. But obviously the risk that you lose one 10 seconds into a game could make them even more useless than Lethal Pursuer after those initial 8 seconds or so. High risk, high reward, I suppose?
I use them a lot. So I guess I feel the power is worth the potential that they get cleansed.
-
I lowkey need the extension to try and level all my killers. I have 2 at level 30 and one at level 40. And who is to say I will get my perks by 50 anyways? An extra week should suffice, but we shall see... The day queue for killers is oppressive. At night, they are basically instant.

Legion's power is literally turn yourself into a slightly faster M1 Killer who can't get downs.
After playing killer for a bit, I am REALLY jealous of his ability to vault over pallets. I mean, don't get me wrong, I definitely agree with you, but I want to slide over those pallets so badly...
-
Victor and Nemesis is my OTP.
-
I feel bad, but what can I do about it? The matchmaking puts me up against red ranks in swf and they win just as effortlessly. You just need to roll with the punches and gg go next.
-
Why even bother with locking down gens when you can use NOED and Blood Warden for a dank end game build? Let them eat gens, I always say. Let them...
-
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank... ABSOLUTELY NO ONE! Just kidding DBD forums, you know I love you. Between this place and OTZ, I am slowly but surely managing to make up for 5 years of lost time.
-
I am so bad stealth in every video game. You know Ghostface from Scream? Well, yeah, I am the Ghostface from Scary Movie. Wassuuuuuuup!
I am only doing it because I love Scream. An original character with stealth? Nah. I do that on survivor because it is easy to be stealthy when the killer cares about players actually contributing over your urban evasion having you know what.

Even the Devs said DS is to give tunnelers a cost, its not an anti tunneling perk. If I want you down, Im more than willing to take that 5sec stun then continue on you & ignore others.
I had so many match that I body block Killer on tight place, using toolbox for sabo instead of Gen to save a double hook team mate.
The game isnt 1v4 any more, its about 1v1 then 1v3. Other 3 get no interaction with Killer until 1 dies
People always try that when someone is on death hook and I have no idea why they commit so hard to giving me a free down. I am not complaining, but I genuinely don't understand.
-
His tentacle certainly has girth. And I guess that is what you want out of a tentacle.
In all seriousness, the best feature is the lingering hitbox, if you miss and are quick enough, you can flick it to where they strafed and still infect them.
-
This was the only chapter I played, so as bad as the performance is, and as lackluster as the event is... S.T.A.R.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
My favorite is Plunderer or whatever, for better treasure. Slippery meat, for dank Kobe. Borrowed time to farm my teammates without getting hate mail.
I wish I could get that one Kate perk where you yeet the killers trying to walk you to a hook.
I call it "rank 20 survivor."

Lol, facts but I've been in so many games where if you don't participate everyone chases you, survivors block you off and they continue to unhook you, the killer slugs you and they all teabag in your face until you're dead, so I'm at the point where I'm scared not to participate once the whole team is in
The one farm game I was in I was gen rushing just in case, for an easy escape, you know? And I got trapped! He came over to me and... Freed me. That was my first and only time farming as a survivor. As a killer, I let two survivors farm because we had 2 early disconnects and cakes were involved. They CLEARLY didn't trust me in the beginning. But once we got a lot of pallet stuns and I wasn't taking unnecessary swings at them while they were healing or waking up, they trusted me enough to give the double hook.
AND THE I SLUGGED THEM BOTH AND WAITED OUT THEIR TIMERS. Nah, they gave me items and left with mere flesh wounds.

People with that playstyle will still play leatherface though probably. Doesn't really matter
I mean, options never hurt.

That is honestly why I started the game with a more campy approach, survivors are SUPER thirsty for unhooks and I am not being punished for staying as no one is doing gens. I purposely started playing worse specifically because I was ranking up too fast for my own good.

100% this...
Survivors: "NOED is an unfair crutch perk that rewards bad killers"
Also Survivors : "Gimme some of that BT, DS, and Dead Hard action".
😂😂
I do not feel like Deadhard rewards bad survivors, honestly, quite the opposite. But yeah, as a baby killer, I quite like being rewarded by my perk and don't mind if garbo survivors get carried by DS.
-
A communication wheel similar to that mobile rip off game. More solo queue related perks? I would love one that highlights a random teammate near me so that they are more likely to chase them than me, ha ha ha. Just joking, but actually totally serious.
-
A whole new kind of tunneling to complain about! Sign me up.

Because he had way too much for very little effort. The nerf didn't really change his gameplay, people simply don't use him as much anymore because his kit was watered down, and because his power is just..boring. The isn't really anything special about Freddy, other than the fact that he is freaking Freddy Krueger himself.
I still think a straight up nerf was unnecessary, and what he truly needed was a rework.
Edit: He is still stronger than Wraith tho.
Oh, he IS special, though. He comes with unique map filters via the dream world.

That's pretty standard though. Knowing where Survivors spawn and then what to do with that just takes time. If it's a real struggle, you might try playing as Survivor for a time just to get to know that side of things better.
DbD has a pretty steep learning curve, but it plateaus in places. So you'll struggle a bit, then find things easier, then struggle with some more complex mechanics and find those easier as well. It's well worth taking the time to learn it though rather than immediately crutching up on Perks.
I only use Lethal Pursuer on Nemmy kun because I have no perks, but I really want it for Ghostface to more consistently get the one shot early when they don't realize I am a baby Ghostface Killah. Other than that, I have been learning the hard way. I am REALLY bad at Ghostface though. I made it to rank 9, and once I started playing him, it has been depip after depip. Rofl.
-
Never. Probably because I never played against her yet. I am super low ranked though. Only 16 on survivor.
