I saved 2.5 million for Pinhead's launch. Didn't get ruin... or BBQ. Like, what the actual hell? Not even tier 1?
I do not have all the perks unlocked, by the way. So, it should have been a simple task.
-
That actually works? Wow. Thanks for the tip-a-rino.
-
Definitely, I was hoping for that over Courage the Cowardly Dog. But what can you do?

"So my only option is to wait and farm up a megaton of BP to level up my new killers with before I even get to play them?"
Is this not what everyone does anyway? Why would you play a level 1 killer at all unless it's literally your first time playing killer?
Because you want to play them? Bloodpoints don't grow on trees, fam. I have to use level 1 killers all the time and I have already invested well over 100 million bloodpoints to all my different killers. I have a priority list going.

Just glowing skins? I have no idea what legacy is, but I would rather avoid le hackers.

Geee this thread hasn't been made ad nauseum.
Yes I statistically enjoy SBMM.
My killer rate has stayed the same, queue times are the same, matches last slightly longer, and BP gain is up slightly.
As a survivor my escape rates are slightly increased, queue times are the same, and BP gain is up over 15%.
I was Rank 1 for the past 4+ years as both survivor and killer. I still get sweats, potatoes, and salty players whether I play killer or survivor, but that is the nature of the DBD community. Unlike the majority of "mains" on the forums though I don't presume to be "high" SBMM - Maybe low tier high. Then again I have watched some of these people complaining on here who claim to be high SBMM and all I can think is "Sure Jan." Anyways - yeah I like SBMM.
If the rumors are true, high mmr is not actually realistically out of anyone's reach. But I would take those with a grain of salt for obvious reasons.

No reason to not show this info. Some Survivors just want Killers thinking they aren't SWF and are just telepathic Gods, you aren't very impressive being a 4 man on comms.
To be fair, you can already tell the telepathic ones are together. Hardly need the game to confirm that.

I misread rail and small as "snail."
Anyways, yeah, feels bad man. It is stupid that they can crouch to become invincible or whatever. LAME!

That's the beauty of it, you CAN shut your brain off and play, but, that's life in general. You CAN shut off your brain.
Or, you could understand that DBD isn't a laidback game. People go in saying, "I just wanted a chill match." It's DBD, that doesn't happen. It's not a game for chill mode.
I chill in DBD all the time... It is a chill game because my mindset is not jacked. The people claiming they are chill have no chill. Word up.

I could actually run Lightborn full time without needing to constantly change it.
As survivor? No longer must I choose between borrowed and Slippery.

Not sure how you could say its subjective when you could literally see the numbers of killers and survivors at any one time.
The rest is all valid points which can only be discounted with me going back, pulling the numbers, showing them to you and then you being a good faith actor with that knowledge.
Subjective isn't quite right. Variable is a bit more accurate. But yeah... You can't literally see the numbers of killers and survivors at any one time.
-
If I want out of the game, I go find the killer. If I want to keep playing, I keep playing.

Well according to you not many people are having fun as survivor anymore.....
You want stats?
Killers have been at 3+ kills for over a year now. So by your own metric they need to tone down the buff to killers and give something to the survivors. So, thanks?
gg
Needed. Past tense. With mmr, well, you know, they already got to buffing killer, rofl.

I don't leave it 99 anymore. Seems to cause more damage more than it helps. Nothing worse then having a convoy protecting a survivor who just got unhooked but wait gate not open and down they go.
I just died because they 99'd the gate. Like, I get it in the correct context, but in my experience, people just do it to do it. At least they tried to heal tech me out. He still got me somehow, but I admire the attempt from Leon.
The Claudette that Deadharded and body blocked me after forcing me to open the gates myself? There is a special place for you!

I play with survivors a lot if I see they're struggling, and just evade bad killers if they're doing the same so I don't end up taking them on a long chase. It's relaxing playing with people that are very chill.
I don't think any really experienced player revels in stomping a newbie. Once or twice maybe, but I've been known to slug people on death hook just so they can get more points before I finish the job.
Edit: Feels good to give people hatch sometimes.
Yeah, if I see a survivor that doesn't do too hot, I usually keep them around. Don't get me wrong, if they make mistakes, I will put them right back on the ground. But I am not going to remove them from the game. At least not until the end, but I honestly don't even go for kills anymore. I find going for BBQ stacks twice to be more satisfying.
-
I have the same playstyle, more or less. I love doing totems and small game is a must. If the killer has NOED, he will have regretted not spending the time to find me. Muahahaha.
But they never run NOED. So jokes on me.

Well you can still camp it it just won't be a winning strategy anymore so most killer won't do it becuase the other survivors will escape.
Nah, I would just dip. I already get triggered enough at the new age hatch stand offs. I wouldn't be able to tolerate just standing there, menacingly.

How about hooks pause when the killer is within a certain distance unless he is chasing a survivor?
Most killer mains object to this becusde they claim it can be abused. When pressed about the abuse they say something along the lines of it forces a killer to leave the hook when they don't want to (you know stops them from camping)
Well, yeah, it is kind of a black and white stance. Say I wasn't camping and someone is almost stage 2, I go to camp it and force the state or get a trade. Now I can't just because "camping bad." That would be a massive nerf. Especially if I am forced to leave my gens just so survivors felt comfortable to save. So you know, if they did change that, they would need to compensate somewhere. But obviously that is not part of the conversation because this isn't really a good faith discussion. Lol.
-
It depends on how you define skill. I KNOW I am bad at survivor, and I was in high mmr games for a bit with a playstyle of just doing everything a little bit. It just depends on the criteria. Like, I kill myself on hook too. But you know, when I am actually playing, I do A LOT for the team.
It is not like it only puts 4 looping masters together or something.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280250/camping-is-so-unfair
Yah you can't mention how awful camping is around here, and don't propose any mechanic to fix this becuase the killer mains rely on It so all you'll get is a torrent of Camping is good becuase it let's killers kill or something to that effect. My personal favorite is when they say a mechanic won't work becuse it will prevent camping and that's just not right
I mean, by all means, propose a mechanic to fix it. The real problem for me is that most people crying about it are doing it for the sake of complaining.
-
Probably Trickster. People always talk about some other ones, and I have never had any issues. When people call Trickster OP, I genuinely cannot comprehend what the hell they are on about and vaguely feel lesser about them as a person. Rofl.
So perhaps that is a sign that he just isn't particularly great on console.
-
Because killer is fun. The mindset of "winning" or "losing" which has never been defined is clearly not a healthy one if you are magically not having any fun just because you aren't "winning."
I suggest single player games if you cannot handle loss particularly well.
-
Full meta? You mean... Pop? Lol... Green tier Pop.
I have a feeling you have plenty of room to go up in mmr.
-
I usually feel like games have more to do with lots of different teams coming together to make the product, so I wouldn't worry if an individual left.

TF you on about? SC is definitely a meta perk. Especially for Solo survivors.
I mean, yeah... Behind Borrowed, Decisive, Deadhard, and Iron Will. Most people not running Deadhard are running a different exhaustion and Unbreakable is still way better that Spine Chill.
I am a Ghostface main, bruh. I do not like that perk, but let's not pretend it is spammed at the same level of those perks. Meta is a strong word when you can only run 4 perks and ideally it only competes with 3 slots. A solo survivor would be far better off running Kindred.
Spinechill is for those solo survivors that assume someone else will be running Kindred. Lol. It is quite far down the list of broken perks even if it is better than the other 95% of perks.

No that's not true at all unless you're the lowest MMR gen speeds are insane at a lot of levels and it's miserable being at the MMR where this happens the problem is if you're good you will always stay in this MMR.
Nah, gen speeds really aren't the issue and red ranks prior to mmr proved it. Killers were completely mutilating survivors. I am not saying you cannot get gen rushed at lower levels, you absolutely can. But realistically the problem is more the overall design and how exploitable that is at higher levels.
Stalling out gen times is not magically going to fix high mmr games, and it will severely cripple low mmr games. They need to rework a lot if they want to actually solve the problem.

Yeah, an innuendo in Hellraiser would make no sense. The series never has anything vaguely like that. They just need to protect their IP or people might start thinking Pinhead's tight leather battle gear is related to bondage.

Obviously right, as I'd have stated that I get hit through pallets sometimes and sometimes not. But I guess some people are still used to getting every hit nmw.
I cannot even imagine how long a survivor needs to wait before dropping to risk getting hit. It is so outrageously long that I would recommend not dropping the pallet at all. It is like a skill check, you throw it down early? No punishment, you just keep making distance. Hit in the sweet spot? Stun. Drop after the sweet spot? Still a grace period. Hit it like half a second past the entire skill check? Yeah... you might actually get hit. That is your b, though. If you threw it at any vaguely reasonable time, you would be safe. You SHOULD be punished for being that egregiously greedy.

thats the inherent problem. Top tier killers going against top tier survivors will mean that people stay at the rank they are at or go up and down. Assuming proper matchmaking.
MMR being independent of rank SHOULD mean that no one gains rank.
You gain rank by pipping. It is not really a rank system, you cannot even derank.

I love stopping before a pallet, just to get hit in the face anyways.
Or when you stop, realize the game probably thinks you are too close even though you are a good meter away, so you back up only to still get stunned anyways... at an angle.

I took it more as fatalities were getting a buff. It sounds like you will "earn" them now.

The game i played just the the Feng was abusing it and she knew she was as well. I don't think I've got one hit through a pallet since the hit validation, I mean hits where they messed up because I didn't respect the pallet this time. I need to get enduring on all my killers asap.
Yeah, ever since the hit validation change, I have become obsessed with brutal and enduring. Maybe a fire up if they don't have flashlights. It is ridiculously satisfying. I am not sure I ever want to go back to other builds. Lol.
Well, maybe if they fix this and respecting pallets becomes valid again.

Lol... Imagine camping with hex plaything. That must be a really low mmr.

Yeah, some form of incentive would help nudge killers into a preferred play style without punishing them for NOT choosing to go for that play style. Regardless, I don't think it would change anything up too much, though. 😕 MAYBE a reduction of a smaller amount of points for hitting the person after a certain time frame after the unhook, but it does not negatively impact your emblems? That way it is also more of a nudge, but let's say you only lose 250-500 points. It really isn't much! But if you KEEP doing it in a match, then it'll start to add up.
But again, I just don't like the idea of punishing the killer for making the potentially correct play. It is also unfair, so I don't really like my own idea.
A form of punishment is the only way I can really imagine getting killers not to tunnel, though. Hopefully we can think of something else. Maybe more points for going after the unhooker instead?? That would probably work! First hit to the unhooker AFTER the unhook is like 500 extra points on the hit.
The issue is the 8k cap. It wouldn't be worth the extra points past maybe playing nice in the beginning to confirm whether or not the survivors are good.
-
The game runs much better than it has on previous patches. But, I wouldn't call it "fixed." Still a work in progress.

This game is SWF sided. Solo que is a completely different game for killers. Not 100% of the time, but a good portion- yes.
You genuinely believe a meme swf is stronger than 4 competent solo players? No, fam.
-
As for your question, I am treasure hunting. You know what I mean? I go open the 3 boxes and scan each section of the map for totems. If I so much as hear that terror radius without knowing their exact location, I am hopping in the locker and waiting. That is why gens aren't getting done when you run the killer for 2 minutes.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
The thing I can't stand is that nobody gets it. MMR hasn't magically made the game harder for killers. It's been this way all along. If you fail to get even 1 kill with your Clown or Legion when you were 4k'ing before, what does that tell you? Either you were going against weak survivors before, or if you are in fact a god at those killers then they simply don't have the tools to beat efficient teams. That's what you have to take away from this.
But not really. The matchmaking was key, and people only noticed the discrepancy against swf which is why a lot of top killers believed swf was the most powerful, followed by killer, followed by solo survivor. Reality is that at higher levels, it was just survivor dominated. Swf had nothing to do with anything but increasing the likelihood that there were multiple competent survivors on the same team. Now with mmr, it is harder to find the weak link and get rid of it fast enough to have an impact in such a way that games reflect what they did pre-mmr.
-
The people who say that perks are a reflection of your skill or character don't care. They just need to convince themselves they are competent or righteous and powerful perks get in the way of that. I mean, someone literally read this thread and was like, "yes, but my personal struggle is actually valid though." They will always fall back on that logic even when directly reading a post that calls them out because "it doesn't apply to them." They aren't one of "those" players, they will convince themselves.
All you can do is smile and nod.

The corn went into their shopping cart so they could enjoy it with their family cooked meal after the trial?
-
It might be because your average mmr is high. They aren't going to put you against beginners just because you never played a certain killer. It works, trust me, I am getting Helen Killer (tee hee) survivors on most of my killers, middling survivors on my standard chill killer rotation and booty sweat survivors on my Freddy (who I consider to be my strongest killer).
-
I think you really need to start playing for fun instead of letting swf get to you.
-
If you think BBQ is sweaty, basically the only way to help yourself is to commit to seriously improving at the game.
-
If boon totems are OP, which I doubt they could match the current survivor perks, pure hex builds will be more common. I imagine they will be a gimmick though. They will likely be detectable with "x" range and therefore not worth using even if they are busted.
-
You want crossplay on for obvious reasons if your queues are long. Other than that, it depends on the time of day and region. You could try playing during deadzones if possible. For me, that would be 12 am Eastern time. Queues are lightning fast.
Another reason might be if your mmr is too high, I would probably derank a bit if you genuinely have queues longer than 10 minutes.
-

pallets are working as they should, killers used to get free hits that they shouldnt, if i got you first than me and the stun, u shouldnt hit me, killers got used to a problem that gave them free hits wich was wrong, now is improved but sometimes looks honestly odd.
No, a survivor mistiming a pallet should get punished with a trade. If you didn't want to risk it, predrop and hold w. It was stronger anyways.
Now? I mean, might as well camp it a bit. Why not?
-
Is it bad that I love mmr just to watch streamers squirm after years of inflating their own egos? Just watching their humility gets me to feel things. Mostly schadenfreude. But you know, there is more to it than that. I enjoy watching them lose game after game and ending their streams early with the delusion that tomorrow will be a better day and ruin will magically return them to their former glory.
-
You just need to hit them before they click on that pallet they were camping. Not at all in their favor, the server decides!
