well... ghosty is kinda annoying ngl.. im not a fan of the break out thing and most of the time its not working or sometimes you dont even look at him and you break him out. idk its just how i feel

Oh, trust me, I know. Sometimes a survivor is looking back at me and walks into an object and I didn't even get a warning. Other times, they are literally trying to hide from me and accidentally break my stealth which reveals them from behind objects. It is REALLY inconsistent.

That's what's bizarre to me. There is no downtime for killer, so why would they waste their time messing with totems? Survivors are supposed to be breaking them, so trying to protect them also seems pretty bizarre. What about perks like NOED? Will boon totems block it, or will it override them?

It just doesn't really seem very good for gameplay.

NOED spawns on a dull totem. So, if the last totem is a Boon, it likely wouldn't overwrite it.

The real issue, to me, is that survivors have all sorts of totem detection perks, and some scale with other perks. I run small game and inner strength (which is literally just a better self care). As killer, how the heck am I supposed to find my own bones? Lol.

  • I was going to ask how Micheal is fun, but Ghostface is meh. However, if Myers is daddy, I guess that is all that needs to be said.

  • It doesn't regress while blocked, so it is really more of a gimmick. Kind of sad, it had potential.

  • You cannot derank in the new system.

  • I kind of agree, but eventually there is going to be at least one meta boon Totem perk.

Ruin is still universally considered to be one of the strongest killer perks, and honestly, just in general. Yet, we all know about those relatively common 15 second cleanses. So I am not sure the cleanse/activation will be relevant in the grand scheme of things. Ruin is often completely invalidated and often paired with Undying for protection which is half the build. Is it worth the trade off? Eh. Not sure it is even viable at the highest level.

Long story short, I guess what I am trying to say is perception is more important and people will complain regardless. That much is inevitable.

Just because this got posted - this description is another thing which makes it not really possible to predict the strength of Boon-Perks.

It could entirely be possible that Killers need 16 seconds to snuff out the Boon Totem and Survivors bless it instantly (basically similar to Hexes), or it could take a Survivor 30 seconds to bless the Totem (which is a huge amount of time) for the Killer to snuff it out instantly.

So I cannot really understand how people think that the game will be worse for Killers just because there is a new type of Perk, when we dont know anything about it (except for this description).

It is objectively a buff to survivors, and therefore the game will be "worse" for killer. I mean, as you stated, to what extent? Who knows. You aren't wrong, no point in getting worked up about it.

But it technically de facto makes the game worse for killer.

  • They swing by the pet store before picking up all the pallets to place within the realms.

  • @yobuddd said:

Let’s face it - if you can be stopped by a pallet and a bright light, then you’ve got no business trying to take on an inter-dimensional beast with the ability to build realms, feast on emotion, reincarnate its victims, and - at the very minimum - burrow through the ground to impale you from below.

Hey, with Lightborn, pallets are your only weakness. That is pretty strong when you think about it. I mean, the entity is the one making good loops to begin with, so naturally none of the killers will ever catch up to them. But still... At least they won't be blinded.

  • Eh, I think most survivor players are hypocritical, but not for this reason. I never see them defending keys, really.

  • Never say never, but I somewhat doubt it. That is what makes Jill over Claire even more disappointing. Well, I would be less disappointed if they gave her a RE1 outfit, but I do not even expect that. The licensed stuff is just so sus, I have no clue what they were thinking, we are losing Hawkins somehow. They have some WACK contracts, fam.

  • Dead By Daylight : "You could survive the night if you JUST DID GENS!"

  • I believe it is mostly based on kills. I know what they said, blah blah blah, I trust my own testing a bit more than their word.

  • I thought the point was to body block them otherwise you more or less have to respect everything and that would make him garbage.

  • I can hit you from 50 meters away because I threw a hatchet at you from 50 meters away.

In all seriousness, yeah, this will never be fixed. We know how hard the developers cater to killer players. Deadhard is proof of that. Great point.

  • His mori was too gruesome for my eyes. I do not understand why a children's game of hide and seek tag with a bit of parkour mixed in has this bondage pincushion dragging people to h-e-double hockey stick. This is repulsive and I am afraid for our youth.

My post about tunneling a BT body blocker got 0 hate this one though everyone wanna flame xD

To be fair, nobody likes BT body blockers. No empathy for those creatures.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

They just take no skill at all. It's not even old mori level of cheapness. "You don't need to do 5 gens, just do 4." Why not 3? Why not 2? Why not 1? And oh yeah, hatch can open even no NO GENS have been done. All hatch and keys are is free escapes. They both need to go. "But we need hatch or the game gets taken hostage." Then don't let them. Reveal the survivors auras or something if they refuse to do anything. Problem solved. Too bad such an easy solution will never become reality.

Even with hatch, they can still more or less take the game hostage. I know you can technically find them while they are locker hopping, but the amount of time that takes without iron maiden or whispers is not even close to justifiable. The game DESPERATELY needs a better afk system.

  • @lordfart said:

I'm so jealous of those survivors, I have literally found a key once in all my time playing and it was broken key

I run plunderers so I get them literally all the time. Sometimes I get 2, I hate when that happens. I have so many key escapes and I have only brought a key into a game once, it was also a broken key. Everyone in the lobby had a key and I felt left out... Anyways, at first I thought it was weird the killer seemed eager to accept a 4 key game. Once I got in, the reason why was oh so obvious. He loved slugging us. You could tell by all the nodding and bing bonging.

  • At low mmr, they basically refuse to do gens, I am really surprised you are running into this issue. Ideally you tunnel to counter their gen rush, at least without slowdown that is what you should do if you can't keep up.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

Would be nice touch in my opinion boldness points are the easiest to get in the game anyway

I get bold points while I hide in a locker and watch my friends die... So bold.

    seriously, holy crap.

I've been playing pretty solid over the last 3 days (while I'm stuck recovering from illness) and have had nothing but brutal games. A lot of really cocky trolling survivors and have only really gotten kills if I hard camp, tunnel and NOED. So you can imagine a lot of salt but its not malicious I'm just stuck for what else to do at this point.

I'm not sure how many games it'l take to get what feels fair but at the moment its kinda brutal.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2490575#Comment_2490575

Funny thing is I was never very good, its just a lot of survivors were boosted and you got enough potatoes to rank up over time, even in the reds.

This has just felt like a slam though. As for NOED I'm often crutching out on it just to get 1 or 2 kills and even then there seems to be no change after many games with the same killer. I play Trapper and Myers mostly, I've stopped using addons as I can't earn back what I spent and I'm wasting good builds on bad games.

I don't expect a 3-4k every game but the fucken hope of getting that was there even against the good teams. That hope is long gone, now I'm seeing if I can secure one kill, from 1 or 2 hooks.

Normally losses wouldn't bug me but it degenerates so often into obnoxious trolling that the game drags on and just isn't much fun to play.

I feel you, man. I really do. My Freddy has high mmr and good lawd almighty. Luckily most of my killers I just sort of chill with and I can relax. But it kind of sucks that Freddy now comes with that "swf sends you to Haddonfield and loops you until the window is blocked" baggage. If I ever need a challenge, I know who to pick. Which is ironic as I always considered him to be among the easiest killers to play.

  • I feel he is worse than most people are making him out to be, but I still feel like Trapper is just definitively the worst.

He is powerful, he just has a learning curve similar to nurses. With the whole chain aim mechanic, which tbh is pretty brilliant since we haven't had a high skill cap killer in a long time. When they flesh out his issues, then the god Pinheads will come out, I can promise you that. He will be S tier if they fix some of his kit.

I mean, yeah, he was probably difficult to balance because one tip in the wrong direction and he is overpowered.

  • @Hippie said:

Glad you love him, friend. My man Spencer doesn't deserve all of this hate he's getting. I played against one on Haddonfield and he's been the only Killer I've played against in recent memory who clapped us out handily without tunnelling, slugging or camping (rare) on Haddonfield. My teammates weren't even bad either!

Hopefully, with time, people will get used to his power and realize that he's not even close to being bottom tier 👍️

You are correct. He deserves more, how anyone could possibly think he is powerful is beyond me.

  • I have never noticed anything that drastic.

  • To give the survivors an advantage over Pinhead. Why else?

This. Thing that gets me is every single streamer I've watched has said "do the box, it hurts you/team if you don't do the box" and players for once are ignoring what streamers are saying. 😂

To be fair, I haven't even seen him on stream. Just like I don't see him in my own games. Its like he doesn't exist!

  • Solve it when he downs someone and picks them up, he can't telepory to you unless the hook was RIGHT there.

  • Viablw reason to run Franklin's for survivors who do not understand counter play? Better nerf it!

  • Hey, it is fine, mmr humbled most killers who thought they were good. It isn't really your b, the design of the game is just so egregiously survivor favored. Hard to tell against bad survivors, I know. But this fact is going to just become more and more apparent as time goes on.

As for NOED? I mean, you will probably just keep your mmr higher than you want it using that perk. I would just continue bending over until you go back to facing bad survivors if you prefer those types of games.

  • He is great for punishing bad survivors. I mean, so is every killer... But you know, it is basically his niche!

  • Pinhead is a porcupine bandage freak with the complexion if a vampire and the posture of Jinzo. What were you expecting? Just be glad we didn't get the newer version of him.

  • I LOVE the recycle idea and think it would help out new players a bunch. I mean, it would help everyone, but it would REALLY make the perk grind much less of a pain for people who have more killers than sense. That would be me.

  • Is that even an unpopular opinion? I thought you were going to say you were glad the line was gone and I was already triggered. Lol.

  • @Aneurysm said:

Been kind of doing this anyway, been practicing huntress but weird perks only (not that I really have much better on her) and strictly m2 only unless I'm carrying someone.

Maybe I'll run noed but you know, genuinely for the speed boost as I won't m1 them. It'll be kinda funny. Especially if I get told off for it

The speed boost is the good part, if you ask me. Wish there was a perk just for that.

  • Have you ever tried Leatherface? The superior serial killer? It might be a bit easier with mmr and you even get to use your chainsaw!

And that is why when I do play Overwatch nowadays, it's only with the six-stack Friends & Family team. And we just mess around in Quick Play Classic and Mystery Heroes.

None of them will touch DbD, and as of the past few days, I would pimp-slap them if they tried. We are waiting for Evil Dead: The Game, though. Huge horror and Evil Dead fans in this family.

Which Evil Dead is your favorite? My family has a thing going where my mom is a fan of Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 is my favorite movie, and my sister represents that Army of Darkness life. I guess technically my cousin likes the remake? But is that truly Evil Dead? Is he truly family? I don't have all the answers.

  • Your tier list would be... Interesting. But yeah, I didn't realize they were the same button because I only got to play against two Pinhead and the first game I was just testing out if I could solve the box without him teleporting. So only one game where I was actually being chased and he never landed the chains.

I played killer to rank 1 many times and never endgame camped. I see it as a sign of desperation and weakness. I have more pride than that.

Desperation? Probably. Weakness? I mean... Better than just giving up and letting them go. That is way more beta.

I have to agree. And yeah, for us at least, it's simply unplayable in this state.

At this point, I'd rather forego the Overwatch Friends & Family team and subject myself to playing with five other randoms in that game than deal with another day of what's happening with my SBMM here.

And if you've ever played Overwatch as a solo, that's saying a lot.

That is saying almost too much. I fear the day I start comparing the hell that is Overwatch to this game. Glad I am still fresh to this one. Because I see the signs!

  • That is the biggest issue, there are perks I like, fun perks, and unique perks. But their effects are so muted or they have obscenely long cooldowns to the point where nobody in their right mind would use them.

  • @GeneralV said:

Evolve? No no, DBD has reached its best state a very long time ago, and it couldn't possibly go beyond that.

Just like a Pokemon without a Mega: once it reaches the final stage, that is it.

Until they add a new form or variation to appease us genwunners. That is all DBD needs. We need that secret regional evolution that they only JUST discovered somehow.

  • Huh? It is the survivors job to come and save if they want more points. The point of camping a hook is to not leave it.

Yes, toxicity is definitely in the blood of a killer playing end game optimally. 100%. This is a scientific fact that you have discovered.

  • @Kilmeran said:

Well, we had the last test to go on, which most player reports said went well.

Unfortunately, what they put Live is acting more like the failed, original SBMM from August 2020, that they quickly turned off to redesign and (claim) to have trashed.

Exactly, the queue times were more or less the same as live from the test, as they indicated. And yet, now? Clearly something has changed.

  • I love mmr, but the queue times are not what I signed up for. Unless those magically fix themselves in the coming days, hint hint, Behavior, I do more or less feel my mind has been changed. Albeit, the game quality is so much higher on killers I never thought I would be able to play. That is almost the biggest issue. I now feel the need to raise them all up whereas before I was largely content with being licensed only with a side of ranged killer.

  • I mean... One of you could have hook traded and still had a massive lead and potentially a 4 man escape, assuming no NOED. But I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

If he was actually mad about it, he could have killed himself on hook to more or less guarantee another one you was killed.

  • Overwatch did it, so you know, it is plausible. But also, it might randomly glitch Pyramid Head if they tried, so I would rather they didn't.

  • @Kebek said:

Try losing more until you get opponents on level you want.

Who the hell was getting bullied by reverse pallet stuns??? Who even complained about them? Especially considering they’re actually detrimental to the survivor because they give less distance than just stunning from the other side like a normal person, they’re only really a useful tactic against Nurse and Spirit most of the time. Well thank god because we all know those two desperately needed some help with being bullied by survivors.

Seriously, all of the stupid, ridiculous, unfair ######### that can happen in this game, and people really think REVERSE PALLET STUNS were worthy of being removed? Lord help me.

I am quite sure they removed them because they were procing to give early stuns with hit validation which was cucking you out of a hit even when they scream and spray blood... And it would inform them of exposed perks despite you apparently not hitting them.
