On one hand, I hate it when I go cross map for them and they try it. On the other, as a slippery meat enthusiast, my team needs to hop off just a bit and let me go for it. At least 3 attempts, please.
-
Most of its "competition" is not even good enough to be dead on arrival. Without console, might as well already consider them failures as they aren't going anywhere. It has been 5 years, doubt it is happening. I am just going to enjoy DBD for what it is.

pretty hard to balance an asymmetrical game
As much as I agree with this statement, keys are kind of one of those blatant oversights that they are aware of. There really isn't an excuse here, and while I do not mind them influencing mmr and do not believe they will boost anyone THAT much, it is still going to more likely than not skew ratings given they are going to rework them "soon."
-
Maybe they are waiting for the boon totems as a compensation buff.
-
Absolutely agreed, the actual mmr part is great, in my opinion. These queues? I am getting hot flashes from Overwatch, I am not sure it is worth it. It kind of needs to be loosened a bit, like it was during their tests, when the queues were similar.
-
Yes, that would be really sick. I think I would prefer it to a generic Xenomorph.

they changed something unnecessary and it did something bad lol
Oh, some changes to "hit validation" were 100% necessary. I do not even see how that could possibly be up for debate. But I am very glad Behavior agreed on that front. Nothing should be that consistently inconsistent.
-
If they did show it, it needs to be after the game. The queue times are sus enough as is.

You missed the opportunity to make a Netflix and Chill pun. Netflix and Kill Bubba. Ha ha ha... Very good.
-
I assume the game already does this, if not, well... Yeah, it is a common sense thing that most games with stacks implement.
-
If you are truly casual, you are about to meet survivors that may very well be blind, or deaf... Or both. My low mmr killers feel like I could 4k while playing a different game at the same time.
High mmr? I have to tunnel to secure a 2k with Ruin... Like, they don't care about Ruin, they aren't even cleansing it, they just hammer the gens so hard that I get no value from it while I am busy tunneling whatever poor soul got unhooked.
-
I had some no mither gamer rage quit after I focused him down first... If he stayed, he would have gotten a free survive. I only wanted BBQ stacks, bruh.

That's my problem. After Silent Hill I was still so happy to play it for a week or more. I was so excited everyday to hop back in. With RE which is my favorite game franchise after the first couple days I and probably most people were just saying "Ok what's next?" Or something like that.
If it makes you feel any better, I am STILL hyped about the Resident Evil chapter, Nemesis is still one of my favorite killers, too. I feel bad that you wanted to move on after a couple of days, but bro, we can play as Nemesis!
I get how you feel. I truly do, my favorite horror icons are from Wes Craven. Freddy is the remake version with no personality, Springwood is my least favorite map. Ghostface is a weird OC dressed like he is cosplaying Ezio from Assassin's Creed with no Sydney Prescott. Like, what the actual hell?
But I am still glad I get to actually play them. Imagine if you were a Leprechaun from the Hood fan. RIP.

People bring those two because one is for mid game and the other one is endgame.
It is like using pop ruin, you don't get value of both but if ruin gets cleansed then you have the other one.
To the question, I think the worst perk combo is thrilling tremors and bbq, for some reason I've been seeing it often.
They are both the same but thrilling can be used for stalling.

Really? That sounds like a decent combo, not even taking into account that most BBQ gamers are just bloodpoint farming, but if they are on a gen, you now see exactly where they are. Maybe it is because my eyes are bad, but I cannot see people on gens with BBQ. Either way, thanks for the idea even if your intent was basically the opposite.
-
Well, as far as I am aware, he doesn't make anyone oblivious unless the survivor picking up the box counts. So ideally you would use Hex: Plaything. But any perks that inflict oblivious should work.
-
It just depends, my Freddy MMR is much higher, so I need to tunnel just to get a 2k. Why not just take it easy? Well, I have plenty of killers to take it easy with and chill. He is my tryhard killer. Not because esports, baby, esports! But because facing bad survivors all the time gets a bit dull.

Yes it was. Tell me something that was bigger and brought in more people.
Probably Halloween? It is one of the most iconic horror movies, potentially THE most iconic. For Dead By Daylight, it was the first license, and those are always huge even if there are bigger fish to fry. Everyone remembers Snake over Sonic in Super Smash Brothers not because Snake is bigger, but because he set a precedent.
I think Resident Evil has such a huge edge in terms of bringing players in because of the timing and the fact that people playing DBD are into gaming. Not to mention the double dipping of survivors which is the majority of the playerbase with huge costumes that are arguably bigger than the choices they made. Depends on who you ask, I guess.
-
I wish the puzzle box was like the yellow glyph. It would be much more fun.
-
Ghostface because he lets me hide my red stain at will. Much easier to trick survivors when they cannot see where you are looking, you know?
-
You can run Franklin's and get a free chain hunt off of their misplay.

I don't think killer challenges need to be difficult. It's only 30K BP.
The only real annoying one that currently exists is Pyramid Head's daily, because getting 4 cages requires survivor being tormented and sometimes survivors getting tormented just doesn't happen.
What I do is down them, and then a few inches from a wall, I put a trail of torment, pick them up, and force them to wiggle out into the trail. If they figure out what you are doing and stop wiggling, you can drop them a few times and it auto wiggles them out.
-
Eh, I just prefer downsizing the maps a bit, way easier and accounts for the imbalance better than random swf deterrents ever could. Or at least let the killer select the map for a 50% chance and the survivors can all have a 10% vote. 10% obviously remaining random. Then we can keep giant maps.

Can I get you to waste another 5 seconds? Which twin is more attractive?
-
I am just trying to get perks on killers still. And I guess I will be at it for a long longer than I originally anticipated.
-
The queues do seem a bit outrageous. And I doubt it is Pinhead hype given how rare he is in my survivor games.
-
What time zone? I can test it out on my super low mmr killers and see if they give me the old matches.

The thing that bothers me is that BHVR's agreement with stranger things isn't my business and shouldn't affect content I already own. I payed money for Hawkins as part of the base game.
I absolutely agree, the least they could do is reskin it. But you know, their decisions are questionable to say the least.

Very much so, yes. It is a hard counter for Myers and Ghostface.
No, just turn to the side. It is great and acceptable counterplay as seen above.

You clearly never played Resident Evil 6. David would smash Chris. Sorry, but it is he truth, homeboy can't fight.

I'll take that all day. Your fault for running devour without undying. 4 spawning together is a blessing these days.
Totem spawns are his fault because he doesn't run a perk? I mean, undying would disappear in the first 15 seconds, and once they realized he had devour, there would be no protection regardless. It hardly matters because the issue is the survivor Shack spawn...
-
I mean, only one person needs to be near the hook before a state is lost. And yes, you more or less trade before they go struggle and then hammer out gens again. They should be done before the second person hits struggle, but honestly, it doesn't even matter, if you need the extra time, let them struggle. Just have you or your friend equip DS, make sure the unhooker has borrowed and it is a free escape unless both exit gates are on the other side of the map and the random is completely worthless. But that is just bad rng.

Just play normally. I just play and my matches are decent. I dont care about the Rating at all.
And keeping it secret - honestly, it is better that way, at least when I look at the Forums. Sometimes people dismiss other players opinions just because of Ranks. "You are not Rank 1"... "erm, I am."
And same thing would happen with MMR. "Your MMR is only 1970, but mine is 2017, you have no idea what you are talking about!".
That happened all the time in Overwatch, the symbol inflated people's egos even if they were less than 100 SR above whoever they were dismissing. Even if it was their first time being to that rank whereas the person was on a downward pendulum or multiple ranks higher on other roles. Lol.
None of that matters! Because my number is bigger during this conversation!
-
It is mostly fine, but I wish stealth killers, as in stealth built into their kit directly (Myers, Pig, Ghostface), should have immunity to it while undetectable via their power. I still think it should counter undetectable from perks and whatnot.
-
I have fun with the game. Get proven wrong, son.

Chucky and Jason are the only A tier icons missing. So, we can get the doll first while they figure out how to make someone slightly lower to the ground than Hag. And once the lawsuit is settled, we can get Jason. Voila.
As for my most wanted? Probably The Thing.
-
Mmr is not a reward. It is your match making rating. That is what it stands for, fam. Play how you want, and you get the lobbies you want. Want to chill? Cool, you can do that. Want to play without worrying about where you stand? Awesome, go for it. Want to challenge yourself? You have the choice.
It is really not that difficult to understand.

Just nerf Nurse, Spirit and Blight. Way easier than buffing everyone.

If you like this kind of progression, deinstall DbD and go play CoD. easy or?
It has been a long time since I played CoD, but nobody cared about winning when I was still playing and everyone complained about skill based matchmaking. That was almost a decade ago. And the skill based matchmaking has only gotten stronger. No idea what he is on about with winstreaks, but I am fairly certain CoD rates based on kill to death, not wins.

I disagree, duoQ can't be considered as SWF. Even if you face 2x duoQ, it's not the same. Communication is broken between the two parts. And those survivors will always want to help the friend, bringing some broken teamplay etc...
I think that at high skill; SWF or not doesn't matter, survivors know how to play and how to be effective. SWF will improve the communication but still, with kindred equipped you have everything you need.
I agree, swf is not really what matters so much as getting competent survivors is what matters. I could 4 man with my friends and the chances of our survival goes down. WAY DOWN. No offense to them, but they are hopeless even by the pathetic standard I hold myself to. I would need a hatch build to even stand a chance of escaping.

2 survivors had kindred, both soloQ. Fact is MMR matched me with mafia the game before, he was soloQ also cause none of the 2 other survivors played with me the game before. So we were at least 2 soloQ.
Well, i'm sure you don't know anything about map control as a killer. How to divide the map at start and such. Always crying about SWF while it doesn't even represent 5% of the trials is a joke.
You just assume you loose cause you face a SWF which is OP and you don't question yourself on why you have lost those trials, the mistakes you have made, the lack of skill you might have in chases etc...
No the only problem is not your skill, it's all about SWF, it's easier to accept that way right ?
Edit : data is old but i don't think the playerbase has changed so much. If you count 3Q as SWF, it's only 13/15% of the trials :). Let's say 20% to make you happy. There are still 80% of the trials being against soloQ/duoQ.
Um... You would need to add 2 man, 3 man, and 4 man together to determine the percentage of playerbase that is swf. That is some sus math, survivor friend. Not as embarrassing as the majority of survivors not understanding 4 is greater than 1. But still, needs work.

how do you know they systematically DC in multiple matches to purposedly "make you crash" and it wasn't them crashing too?
A swf DCing at the same time? Nah... They are just leaving the game together, bro. I do not think he was implying they do it to make him crash, I think he just meant they coordinate a leave, which they do. Trust.

Yes the game's balance issues shine bright when the survivor players are decent, but you can't blame the players. I won't play worse just because the balance is bad.
Exactly, it is not the survivors fault that the game is designed the way it is, and it was the way it was to accommodate random matchmaking. Mmr is just exposing the inherent discrepancy.
-
The incentive to win is to satisfy your competence needs, that is why everyone is freaking out now. They aren't used to losing.
