It depends on how high your mmr was.

I do not want to be rude, but he just doesn't um... trick survivors as easily. Survivors are really adamant she has no counterplay and it is largely because they walk into her while she just stares at them. Just saiyan!

I can name 5 different communities off the top of my head that are more toxic and or/ have crossed more lines then DBD’s without question
1.League of Legends (still surprised people still play that on account of Activision’s recent activities)
2.YU-Gi-Oh, both versions, you try and play then good luck beating someone who’s spent £600 on shiny cardboard in order to infinite lock you out of playing the game
3.2B2T, people have committed actually crimes in order to get a advantage on this server
4.Call of Duty, still surprised people play this on account of Activision being the scum of the earth but what can you do
5.Roblox, the platform is populated by mostly children, who are the physical manifestation of the term “Little #########” and will scream at you if you dare do anything to them regardless of what game you’re playing
DBD is tame compared to these tbh
What exactly is your definition of toxicity? The reasoning seems all over the place.
But personally, coming from Overwatch? This is chill as can be. I hesitate to even call this community toxic. And back when I played that everyone there said this place was worse. Glad they were beyond wrong.
-
I mean, I do not mind it at a 45 degree angle. Anything past that is way too forgiving.
-
The pallets are part of the charm, I would hate if they got rid of them. They could fix that double god pallet, though, or was it triple? I cannot even remember. It has been SOOOO long since I played it and that sucks because it is in my top 3 favorites.

dont forget insidius face camping, im guilty of indulging and avoiding this as both killer and surv respectively.
denying 1-2 players any fun is the meta atm due to how bs the matchmakings swat teams are
I mean, the insidious Basement Bubba is for challenges, not me trying to boost my mmr, rofl. There are easier ways that will net me less false reports.

Don't be inane. I am not a survivor main. I just think 99% of your posts are trash and only created to incite even more divisiveness. You are the epitome of hyperbolic. You are a prime example of why this forum needs an ignore/block function.
Is this intentional irony, or?
-
Probably a stupid question, but you do have level 3 BBQ for him, correct?

Change your mind set. Tunnel em and camp em if you want. Treat them like difficult npcs instead of other players. It really does take a load off. Best results are usually to run a ton of slowdown and tunnel someone out of the game first thing. Dont camp them, that takes too long. Just stay close as you can, wait for the unhooks. The game gets way easier from then on.
I mean, if you play mean, they aren't even difficult npc. The issue I see with higher level killers is that they aren't comfortable playing really degenerate. If you basically burn the survivor rule book before the match begins, even good survivors will crumble. They would need to be a tournament grade SWF to handle that kind of pressure that proper tunneling, camping, and slugging could accomplish. Key word is proper. A lot of people seem to think you just look for the first guy you find and stare at him for 2 minutes. That's obviously not efficient.
-
Yep, and after my 90 degree stun robbing me of my first hook of a game, I became a child of the light. One flashlight? Run Lightborn. Flashlight betas are as boosted as they come. The amount of free hits and downs you will get rivals basically any other perk you could bring. Trust.
-
The amount of people playing him speaks for itself really. He is not good, fam. He is not absurdly bad or anything, he is still playable. But, like, no idea why people be fronting.
-
DC probably doesn't influence your mmr. Or at least it typically doesn't in other games. Better to just derank a standard way.
-
The mmr is fine, the queues are not, they need to loosen it a bit.
-
I am relatively new. Only devotion 1. But I ran into someone that could heal himself, maybe others (could have been 2 hackers as she was opening a chest in my face as I hit her), had flashlights (that he spawned in, or I guess he opened a box on his way to find me) that could auotblind even when facing a corner and could hook and unhook himself at will.
-
I was once in a locker, someone came and bagged twice to get me to come out so they could heal me. I decided to save my inner strength stack and come out. The terror radius kicks in and she jumps into my locker. Oh, hell nah! I pulled that opened and the killer got both of us. My locker, you don't get to be inside her.

All the killers since PH(with the exception of Trickster & Pinhead) have been A tier
That is a lot of exceptions, and you have a surprisingly high opinion of Nemesis. I kind of agree though, especially with survivor validation existing.
-
I mean, I do not care if they call me a camper. They can take that flashlight and find another use for it than clicking, if you catch my drift. I am countering YOUR hook camping, how bou dat?
-
You can flashlight save someone... Facing a locker? As in a wall? And survivors don't see the issue with that? Yeah, this is why I use Lightborn and punish those boosted clowns hard.
-
It depends, people overuse the term. But sometimes it really does apply and you know the person on the other side is literally sweating. Not just because they want to win, no. There are other obvious telltale signs. Like, a squad that brings 3 brand new parts, a key, a hatch offering, and Haddonfield offering that cranks out gens and leaves before 3 minutes are up are not just trying to win. You know? It is almost like their life depends on it, or something. The "or something" that reeks of desperation is what people call... Sweat.
-
I love it as killer, I get to finally experience a 4 man slug victory as Nurse with less than an hour on her. All thanks to sbmm.
-
I need those unhooks, bruh.
-
Oh, yes, easily. The night time matchmaking has always been pretty sus because there aren't enough killers, in my experience, it got better than before. But my mmr was definitely lower than your average red rank killer. And I never have too much time to play during the day, as is, so nothing to pad my stats, realistically.
But you can tell that after midnight is still not a time to play if you like balanced games.
-
If you want him to get zero value, you basically just solve the box when he picks someone up.
-
Games rarely show mmr. Which are you thinking of?

Get max points in a few categories in less time: Distressing + Beast of Prey + BBQ. That's my farming build and it's wonderful. As a fourth perk, I like running Lightborn (used to be Whispers, back before dedicated servers went live.)
I don't like Thrill of the Hunt, survivors often get more points cleansing it than I do running it. Beast of Prey all the way.
Yes, this is the way. Praise be to Lightborn, the god king of perks. I always knew you were a real one.
-
The queue times already skyrocketed for high mmr. This would not help, at all.
-
You need to relax more and stop caring about what other people are doing, and then your mmr will naturally drop and you can stop sweating. I believe in you.

THIS. This is the eternal incorrect perception that they will now have to combat on Twitter. People are going to attach these new grades to the MMR system because it's the only number that is visible to them.
It really is not THAT incorrect at the moment. It still uses the old pip system. And yellow rank killers had no business getting lobbies with red rank swf. I mean, sure, some red ranks are garbage and some yellow rank killers just haven't played for a reset cycle or two. But you know, the ranking system does generally segment people. And with mmr, it SHOULD be less common to see these massive discrepancies.
-
There is no official statement as far as I am aware. We need to wait for anecdotes of people who play a lot of swf and solo to see if the killer discrepancy exists as most games usually balance stacking by placing stacks against higher mmr solos to compensate.
-
He is slept on because he is a sleeping bag. Albeit, with mmr, I had a lot more fun with him.
-
I play my daily survivor match, I am still a killer main. Always will be, even if mmr made me finally understand why people have fun with survivor.

That's blatantly false.
BHVR has been collecting data for years, wiped it and then collected another 6 months worth.
The system should be working now, and if it isn't, it's broken.
Data based on the old system. It needs mmr data from mmr matches. They have only had a couple tests that lasted a few days, we need like a month of this system for everything to normalize.

How many games have you played so far?
I do not know, maybe a dozen? I have mostly been playing Pinhead (and I think he is bad, so, you know, I am clearly not the best at him) and the survivors are HORRIBLE.
I need to try my mains that I tryhard on to see the difference. I was mostly just testing the low end today.

Maybe.
It is NOT fun to have huge queues and then having a 7 minute match. It was also the same people every time.
I feel you, fam. I left Overwatch for this game BECAUSE of the high ranked dps queues. Waiting 15 minutes for a game was too much for me. I cannot even imagine 30 minutes.
Well, actually, there is a system where the game cancels if someone is afk within the first minute. I had that happen 3 times in a row. I quit the game for a few months after that incident.
Hopefully they loosen the parameters a bit, that is just unacceptable.
-
The mmr definitely works. I went from needing people to stand still at exit gates to doing my Nurse daily to 4 man slugging. That is a DRAMATIC difference.
I had some weird Basement Bubba games that felt like before though, a mixture of survivors that loop you for days and others who hide while I was staring at them revving the chainsaw... So, idk?
-
You just need to inflate your mmr. And now you are seeing why they do not want this information out. If you knew the exact criteria to climb, you could focus solely on that and go back to getting carried and create imbalanced games. No offense intended, of course.

@Schardon said:
It's there to provide better match making and thus a better and more fair game experience.
DBD is not a super competitive hardcore game like League of Legends or Counter Strike and it can't be without being completely reworked. You're not able to see your MMR because you're not supposed to chase after it. It's simply just sitting there for less stompy games.
I understand that most people don't see the point in that because everybody is so accustomed to "push that rating" of literally every other PvP game, but DBD is different. It's a far too casual and unbalanced game to be compared to other games and their match making / ranking systems.
That is the irony, they complain about them making the game too competitive and want a merit based skill rating. Like, what?

I don't even own it. But i have been in 3 matches today that crashed and this time the server kicked me with a "connection issue" I never get these.
Yeah, I guess you cannot really control it as a survivor. I was playing some earlier today, but basically nobody was using Pinhead for some reason. Well, I guess the crashes are probably the reason.
-
The issue is fixed for me, I would rather not have the killer disabled. You can just... Not use them yourself! Perfect fix!

You know one of the major counterplay to nurse is hoping she overblinks and running back into her, which she can counter by blinking down and following up with a 2nd blink to hit but the survivor can then attempt to counter this by running unpredictably too? Or faking doing this and getting a lot of distance, that one too.
If she could cancel her blink this counterplay becomes a death sentence.
Oh, is that what they were trying to do? I just picked her up for mmr and people were running into me which was basically mitigating my screwed up blinks. Lol. I didn't realize they were trying to counter my overblink.

Finally started seeing some low grade bronze survivors, in swf.
Trust the devs & mods when they say grades don't mean much in the matchmaking cause these players might have well been iridescent. Full meta builds and highly coordinated, if it wasn't for light born it'd been instant blinds at every pallet.
I mean, that is just flashlights being broken. Lol... Low mmr people can still blind off a stun... Probably.
Praise be to Lightborn, amen.
-
I personally have not been disconnected since. Most of the survivors I have seen get dc'd were BLATANT rage quits. I had someone report me for Basement Bubba, and since he was vulgar in the message, I reported him to Sony. And they took action. Rofl... Superior reports ahoy.
-
What are the multiple uses for his chain, in your experience? I only really like the chain itself to make unsafe loops guaranteed hits. Other than that, I am struggling to figure out when to use it.

No I suppose i can't say they are doing it solely to hide bugs. My point has been that the effect of hiding it regardless of whatever motive they chose to state, is that it will take longer to fix if it was hidden than if it was visible.
I ask you again why do you want thr number hidden so badly?
It is not about want, mmr is more or less never visible because then you would see the discrepancy between mmr and rank.
-
You think solo survivor is the reason Ghostface's reveal mechanic is so bad? I mean... It kind of makes sense, I guess? But then why not nerf Nurse, Spirit and Blight if it is THAT big of a deal?
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
I don't think this is good idea since this would remove one of the few counterplays you can do againts her and even then she can still somewhat use that blink to get to that Survivor.
If they want to cancel the blink outright, it probably wasn't a blink that was going to hit the survivor, fam...

That Jill really is better because she does gens. She gets it.

The map rotation is killing me, not going to lie. 66% of my games are MacMillan or Autohaven. And then a mix of Yamoka and the Church. Like, please kill me.
Oh, wait. I had one Hawkins. But still, kill me.
-
Oh, yes. And the mmr seems stronger than I anticipated.
