@The_Crusader okay those are just the perks, what about the killers with power abilities to add to it, and the add ons. Between perks, addons, and built in abilities I think that adds up to a significant amount of healthstates, especially when combined, especially on a good killer. Sooo killer can take away multiple health states in a match which can affect all 4 survivors. My point is if you limit one sides ability to grow, you’re also limiting your own, which will be nerf after nerf. Which will make for a really bland game.

But those are powers, not perks. It's apples to oranges.

Also survivors DO havs health state perks. Fair ones.

DS - Dying to injured. It was unfair, now it's fair because as explained before it has a 60 second timer in which to be used like the killer perks. It can be countered by avoiding the survivor.

Unbreakable - Dying to injured. Has counterplay by not leaving a survivor slugged.

Borrowed Time - Free health state. Avoided by not camping.

Adrenaline - .....Ok this one is a bit BS like NOED.

This new perk is a health state perk like the old DS in that it has no counter and punishes the killer for doing his job.

  • I used my browsers inbuilt translator for anyone wonder what it says..

    1. I think it should be taken away. Both the siren and the killer Because the team didn't allow him to talk in the game Because I want to play together in an exciting way But I saw that Pork looked at Aura Kil or Sir. It's not exciting. When the hangers are finished See the aura It was too heartless, not exactly the words of the team. But if a friend is hit by a bed, he can see the aura normally. Or too hung

    2. I think that some add ons that have already been put on the beat Out better, not exciting. There is only a hot head. If it is No One, the end of the game is still enough.

    3. The point that needs to be changed is to watch the suspender being hung.

Actually, some people say that if they watch, they spin. But the guy who was hanging out, didn't take it to get a room with good ping and play Having just played this, had to be hit by it until we died, it was not fun. And if found frequently many eyes I think the game will be even worse because there is no modification of the story from the team. I think that should make the tube on the hook not move. Until the killer will go outside for 15-20 meters Because the murderer has a duty to chase, should not come to look ugly like this

I think the first part is about aura reading for survivor and killer. Pork and aura is bbq & chilli 🤣 I'd love if that became its new nickname.

And I think the last part is camping and how the meter shouldn't progress if the killer is within 15-20m

  • No, leave the thread open. Then if the perk comes out unchanged we can bump this.

Wow, killers finally get a DS nerf and still find room to complain. smh....Yall never satisfied until all 4 survivors just walk right up to you and sacrifice themselves to the entity

Then they'll complain that suvivors don't walk up to them fast enough.

Here's a hint: This is a casualgame with no competitive scene, you insulting me here does nothing, it's like saying "look, I'm good at holding m1 and doing ######### that wouldn't be impressive to any actual gamer who plays skillbased games like starcraft, dota or quake.

Aside from that, finding survivors is pure luck, ppl told me there's some kind of algorythm to spawning but it's impossible for a human to recognize complex algorythms in a game. Heck I had no mark beyond an F in algebra so I won't recognize mathematical skills in a game about slashing ppl as a game-skill anyways.

The easiest way to find survivors spawns is to take Ruin.

Not even joking, 90% of the time they will spawn near the area where Ruin spawns. Look for the 2 closest gens to the totem and they will be on one of those.

With that logic how do you feel about instadowns? That lessen a chase and remove a health state? Or are those fair? I mean we can remove instadowns and buff all insta down killers to be viable m1 killers. Soo I mean...sometimes the shoe is on the other foot

Haunted Grounds - Has a 60 second timer. Survivors can evade it by playing stealthy (and often do so).

Make your choice - Same as above.

These 2 perks aren't that common because they aren't usually producing amazing results.

The equivalent of those 2 perks is new DS. It has a timer and the killer can avoid it by avoiding the survivors. It's exactly the same concept. All are fair.

Devour Hope - Often long gone before you even get the third hook.

Noed - ok this one is a bit BS.

This new perk cant be avoided or countered thats the issue. It's like if killers hit survivors 3 times then the next hit on a survivor is a guarenteed instadown. Theres wiuld be no timer to it thus making it unavoidable and that would be unfair.

  • I'd have to try it on a killer I'm more familiar with to truly judge it.

Looks good on paper. Survivors only have 4 gens then can do. Killers outside of the top 2 instantly get more map pressure.

What he said ^^^ we’re trying to find some middle ground here. Bc I want survivors to have cool #########, but I also don’t want killers to be underpowered to it.

New DS is still powerful, but it has counter play (don't tunnel, or just slug them)

Deliverance is powerful but it doesn't directtly affect the killer or waste their time in a chase.

This perk if unchanged has no counterplay at all and it's a chase extender. It's essentially a free instaheal. That's the problem, it looks unfair and unfun for one side. Perks like this shouldnt exist. Just like how perks such as Dying Light shouldnt exist for killer because it rewards play thats really unfun for the other side. (Thsnk god it got obliterated this patch).

  • @thesuicidefox isn't there a way to turn off notifications?

  • I've been hit by the new DS once so far from day 1 of the ptb until today.

Turns out it's easily avoidable if you don't tunnel 🤔 imagine that.

  • I think the stun duration should scale in intensity based on remaining time. This based on when you go down, not when you're picked up.

If they tunnel you at 50-60 seconds it's the current 3 second stun.

If they tunnel you at 30 - 50 it's a 4 second stun like the old DS.

    If they tunnel you at 10 - 30 it's a 5 second stun like

If they tunnel you within the first 10 seconds the killer is immediately banned from the game for being an awful human being.

Of course if you get hit, go down, but get healed up by another survivor because the killer walks away then the timer resets because that is fine imo

@Orion but that means the killer would have to drop chases to avoid hitting their obsession if it triggered mid chase. Which could be game changing if using stbfl to try to combat mom. Soo I think my conclusion is they’re going to have to change stbfl with a buff or new conditions as killers would waste more time trying to combat mom than actually combating mom. Stbfl is going to need a buff/or new requirements to be useful especially if more than 1 person is carrying mom Bc it would be incredibly op so killers will need stbfl to be equally op, and it should be buffed at the same time of this perk realease , not before or after. Meaning released at the same time. Or what do you think? Bc I think that would be good middle ground.

    @thesuicidefox said:

@Orion @The_Crusader @HeroLives @NoShinyPony Guys just stop arguing. Perk isn't out yet. You are all theory crafting. No one can say how this perk will affect the game.

@Peanits Would you mind just closing this thread for me? I'm sick of seeing +10 notifications in my inbox every hour. TY

You can't just make a thread to describe everything you can about the perk, then try to shut it down to stifle discussion.

  • @Maximus7 said:

Or better yet, give killers a base incentive to not tunnel, like the idea Tru3 and others had where you have a permanent debuff to repair speed after being hooked.

Or just give killers tutorial videos on how to "git gud" at the game so that they don't need to relentlessly tunnel one survivor because they can't win chases.

  • But in return survivors get extremely fast heals at the fountains.

She's strong but then survivors aren't slowed down by healing and get to genrush faster.

It's pretty balanced what they've done. It makes for a faster paced game. Killers get a strong power which they want, survivors aren't spending half of the game healing which they want.

She's like the opposite of Legion in that regard.

  • "I'm looking at you Billy"

Would have been better to just nerf this cheap p.o.s but as always everything else needs to change so Billy can stay as he is.

  • Well still it's 75%

STBFL even at 8 tokens you'd still lose 2 on the first hit and 2 on the second meaning your best counter to MoM would only be 20%.

  • @thesuicidefox

Steep requirements to use? Lol what taking 3 hits? Then the 4th one is free.

The perk is basically "here you go buddy, if the killer is playing the game and hitting you then the next one doesn't count.

Also being the obsession isn't a punishment unless the killer is running Rancor, which barely any killers do. Even then it's only a punishment if the last gen gets done, if not then it's actually good for the survivor as you get to see the killers aura with no downside.

For me it's still DS 2.0

    Decisive Strike:

    - Gives a free health state

    - Creates distance from the killer

    - Extremely hard to avoid (unless you could dribble 3 times)

    - Punishes the killer for doing their job

    - Best strategy is to save time by ignoring the obsession all trial

    Mettle of Man:

    - Gives a free health state

    - Creates distace from the killer

    - Almost impossible to avoid (unless you M2 all game as Billy/Huntress)

    - Punishes the killer for doing their job

    - By strategy is to save time by ignoring the obsession all trial

Hell at least you could slug DS to save time. You can slug this guy once and the next time you try he'll just tank the hit when injured.

Then we have the fact that you had to select a pretty common perk (Enduring) to lessen the punishment of DS. With MoM you need to select a much lesser used perk (STBFL) AND you need to work up a number of tokens before it becomes effective.

    Awful game design.

  • @HeroLives said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/379060#Comment_379060

It’s a free missed swing, there’s not even a stun timer. Plus there’s that killer perk that lowers missed attack cooldowns if it becomes that big of an issue. That person is devoting all their perk slots in the case you mentioned for 1 emblem ONE don’t you think he deserves to last longer in a chase? I devote my perk slots to stealth, should that be nerfed too since I can go unseen a lot? I’m weaker against chases, so I’ll go down faster if I’m not in a good area. I’ll get the most gens, totems, and saves though.

You get the attack cooldown, they get the speed boost. It will probably buy you as much distance as a DS and allow the survivor to reach a new loop. That will be nice when they reach something like the abbatoir window.

Enduring helped with DS from the get go - didn't stop people complaining. Now the counter is a perk which needs 8 tokens to reduce the oenalty of this perk, bearing in mind when you hit the obsession you're going to lose tokens anyway. 2 hits on the first, 2 hits on the second. Thats at max. So best case scenario you have 4 tokens and only get a 20% cooldown. Bearing in mind Enduring gave you a 75% reduction against DS.

But tell me, if I bring STBFL wouldn't I be better off just ignoring the obsession altogether?

Guess what, thats how DS was. It made more sense to just ignore the obsession all game.

Hmm, alright, I can't argue this anymore since you made some good points. I guess the perk is a little to strong, but the only nerf it needs is having your aura exposed after you sponged the hit, not when you heal to the healthy state. The aura will stay permanently which means you'll be seen by the killer at all times until you're dead.

    Sounds more fair?

A little, but I still think it will be used by toxic players to bully the hell out of new players. Deranking twitch streamers and swf can just use the aura to tbag from afar and then loop all game.

The devs probably wouldnt consider your suggestion "fair" though.

  • @slingshotsurvivor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/379043#Comment_379043

It's a connection issue. Played SWF all night last night and folks just kept dcing for no reason. We had different group at different times so we narrowed it down to that being the case.

Yeah seems weird when the survivors just stick doing an animation, a sign of them being disconnected.

Hasnt happened to me yet luckily. Hopefully its fixed asap but then giving the loading issues still aren't who knows.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/379032#Comment_379032

that is essentially what i said in my first sentence. yes.

Killer has a much steeper learning curve than many give it credit for. A lot of killers go against more experience survivors and get wrecked. Theu get looped all game by clesrly better players, they don't know how to deal with that and some just find better success from camping.

Look at that guy here who said his rank 1 strategy is camp and NOED.

Hard to swallow pill: Taking away NOED would help a bit. Having that crutch to fall back on means these killers don't learn the hardway about their playstyle.

  • @darktrix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/378896#Comment_378896

Agreed. The game is just not fun anymore.

This new pip system is affecting my morale much more than I thought it would.

And this would explain why disconnects have risen.

If pips/rank doesn't matter anymore since its stupid how the pips work then what reason to they have to not d/c?

Im not saying thats the only issue with disconnects before anyone has a dig, im just saying if their morale is low regarding rank anyway then it doesn't help.

The thing that stopped a lot disconnecting before was the road to rank 1. Now that the road seems a lot longer it's less enticing to make the effort. Especially when you gain a pip 1 match and then lose it the next because the killer camped or the survivors disconnected.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/377265#Comment_377265

If the killer is taking a hook over a mori then you aren't making a good choice as the killer. About the no heal part, the survivor is basically broken for the remainder of the trial. Therefore, if no survivor heals then you only need one hit so, in other words, chases are 100% faster than normal. Not bad in my opinion.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/377276#Comment_377276

If they don't heal, they're basically exposed for the entire trial since healing reveals your aura. Once you take care of their "free health state", they are injured and easy to down. Trust me, survivors are weak when you strip them from their defenses. Isn't that enough of a setback?

By the time the survivors aura is able to be revealed they will be in death hook, which means it's late game anyway.

They heal to 99%. Killer can't see their aura. They do gens or play stealthy. If the killer finds them, they tap heal. Now they can take 2 hits and the aura reading doesnt matter since the killer has found them anyway and they're on their third hook.

  • @daggersnight said:

I keep dcing from the game and not because I want to but because the game just keeps Dcing on me. Be in the middle of doing a gen BOOM dced. Healing a survivor BOOM dced. Just walking? BOOM dced. Since this chapter started the dcing on my side has been super bad. I don't know whats going on.

Someone just said something similar a few minutes ago.

I've seen strange disconnects. Survivors usually d/c when hit, downed, hooked, or when they first see a killer they don't like.

These survivors are doing a gen one minute then their character just stands still for a while then the disconnect comes.

Seems it could be a connection issue.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

When I play survivor, I literally get disconnected every other game without intentionally leaving since the update. I've gone down 6 ranks from this alone. It just says "disconnected from the host" each time.

I've seen some exhibit strange behaviour. Standing still then disconnecting. Seen it in streams too.

  • @KingB

Yeah shes slightly slower while fully charged but slightly faster than the ptb while charging. In the ptb if you needed to recharge it hurt a lot.

  • Would help with some but other killers only ever intend to tunnel. They'll walk away to bait an unhook and then come straight back. Doesn't matter if they hit another survivor or not, first person hooked is gonna be tunneled until dead.

  • @xility said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/378894#Comment_378894

On ps4 you can see who the killer is prior to match start. Some have hidden profiles but only a small percent.

    #########?

Then why am I playing what is clearly the inferior version. I'd have so many campers on my avoid list.

  • But they buffed her charging speed. I stand by the fact that it's a decent trade off. You can't hold it in and get on a survivor now but you're also not punished if you need a second or third blast.

  • @Evie said:

You need to be patient for the dedicated servers. Everything will be fixed then.

Thing is I like many others know my skill. I have hundreds of hours on the game. I shouldn't be facing "babykillers". It's not fair on them, it's not fair on me. If I'm struggling to rank though because every other game has a camping killer or disconnecting survivors then I'm stuck in these ranks and I can loop these killers for most of the game. It's no fun for either side.

The experienced players should be facing the experienced players and the new players vs the new players. That doesn't seem to be happening at all though.

  • @Zagrid said:

Seriously its no joke, I won't do justice explaining it and depending on who you are you might not even care what I would say. But if you do ScottJund did a good video explaining why the ranking system shows skill over anything.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQOS327LvGY

TL;DW If you dominate one side by either 4King in 2 min or escaping in 2 min, that really isn't a demonstration of skill, its just annihilating a bad player/bad players. Which if you think about it, should you really get a pip for showing you can dominate someone who is way less skillful than you? Or should you only get rewarded when you demonstrate the ability to out skill your opponent.

So if I dominate the other side it's nothing to do with my skill it just means the other team sucks? You couldn't ask for a better result.

And ######### Jund lost all respect for him because all he does is come on here to defend his partners clearly rule breaking behaviour.

  • I just had a game where I camped HARD and it turns out you barely get punished for it.

Wasn't my fault. Someone destroyed all of the hooks in the vicinity, and I mean all of them. Had no choice but to camp the basement hook, then got another basement hook.

  • " With the new ranking system it is supposed to show how well they can demonstrate their skill "

    LMAO 🤣

  • I have to agree. The game has never been so unfun.

Gain a pip as survivor in the new awful ranking system. Lose it the next game because 2 survivors disconnect and then you can't do #########, or get tunneled and chased all game which helps the rest get the gens done but you get no unhooks or gens so you lose out. Not to mention killers just camping the first hook they get is out of control. I guess they're aware survivors NEED unhooks now so they're preying on it.

As killer you now wait 5 mins for a lobby only to be met with a 2000+hour swf with toolboxes, or 2 survivors only and the rest never join despite this talk of "the bucket".

This update just makes the game feel like a chore to play. As for the scoring system nobody liked it on the ptb yet they went ahead with it anyway.

  • "If someone can get rank 1 and is a camper then people will most likely dodge their lobby. Or even if they versed the killer again they should be aware of their tricks and attempt to beat them. "

But the survivors don't know who the killer is until the game is over. Are you sure you've played this game? Lol

  • @not_Queef said:

You pretty much only pip if it is a really good, long, healthy game where the killer gets loads of hooks (ie. plenty of chance to rescue teammates), all of the gens get done and you get in multiple decent length chases.

Such games are unfortunately rare, so most of the time survivors just black pip at best. If the killer tunnels you to death, you can no longer try to just get enough points to black pip. Now it's a hard depip to go on top of the super un-fun game.

Worse still, people play super-selfish now. On the hook at the end of the game? Might as well give up struggling because your team will just leave so they can secure their escape points.

    tl;dr it sucks mega chode

    Completely agree.

As for the last point, it's not that people leave just to secure escape points. If you don't get an unhook in that game due to few hooks/being too far to get an unhook earlier, the fact is the killer will understandably camp anyone caught after the last gen is done, and if the killer manages to make it past you to hit whoever you unhook then the cost of the safe unhook actually causes you to depip. It's actually not worth trying to unhook the last survivor because the cost of failure is so great now if you weren't able to secure a few unhooks earlier in the game.

  • Vile Purge - Try to avoid a straight shot from the Purge. If broken, loop.

Corrupt Purge - Treat her like you would Huntress. Loop and crouch when she's about to shoot. Don't drop a pallet if shes got a shot charged as she will shoot when you drop the pallet, just like a Huntress would throw a hatchet when you drop the pallet.

Basically just try to be on the other side of a wall with a pallet for safety, if it's a low wall then duck when she shoots.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Actually somewhat incorrect. Buckle Up is not working 100% correctly from my experience, specifically the "aura intensity" part of it. Though the rest of the perk and the other 2 work as expected.

Also we only got to see the survivor stuff, nothing about the killer. I highly doubt an Evil Dead chapter would only be a survivor, considering how many awesome options they have for killers. Chances are the survivor side is mostly "content complete" but the fact we have nothing on killer side suggests the chapter itself is a ways off. I could be wrong, but if the chapter was indeed content complete I would bet that we would have seen killer perks too. Probably even some hint at the map.

A perk not working correctly is just par for the course for DBD 😄

It sounds like it's coming pretty soon. I doubt they would release 2 killers back-to-back so it may indeed just be a survivor. We will have to wait and see I guess.

Ah. I've heard higher ranks aren't seeing her too much.

I barely touched survivor after reset so I'm in the pleb ranks. Likely to stick here too with the new rank system :D

Guess more killer variety is good but I miss the killers who knew how to apply pressure and didn't just tunnel all game.

  • Haha strange. I've seen almost nothing but Plague.

@powerbats All that camping/tunneling. I do think this is a reason surviviors get so pissed off and trigger happy with the disconnect button. When it happens time and time again they get fed up.

Like I'm aware people enjoy this dlc more than legion, but the amount of toxicity around this dlc is far less than the usual backlash of topics.

Probably because it was discussed the other week in the ptb.

There's nothing bad aboht this chapter, bugs aside. Nothing to get annoyed about imo.

  • Some disconnects are due to camping/tunneling imo

Some are just salty survivors. The kind who disconnect as soon as they're hit. Maybe they're salty for no reason, maybe they're tilted from a few bad games beforehand. Who knows.

  • @Killmaster said:

Lukewarm, killer, map and survivor. I was way more hyped for Legion, Ormand, and Jeff plus it feels like its taking forever to level up Jane, unsure if the new pip system or the amount of bloodpoints you gain per match was adjusted but the game feels different, maybe it boils down to faster matches because even if I wasn't running Decisive before other players certainly were prolonging the game so maybe that could be it. In any case, I'm just not feeling that spark or drive to play at-least until the Evil Dead DLC comes out.

Anecdotal evidence but I've seen almost non-stop Plagues recently. Far more than I saw Legion, Spirit, and especially Clown in their early days.

  • So that killers have fun. Be fodder.

  • 1) Sprint Burst.

Say what you want about not being able to sprintz but it's still by far the most powerful. It guarentees you a pallet/loop. You don't need anything to activate it.

When Billy comes sprinting across the map and appears next to you then lining up the instadown, are you next to a drop for balanced? Probably not. Can you make it to a vault and make it through the other side withou his enourmous chainsaw hitbox touching you? Probably not. Sprint Burst can get you to safety. That's why the most meta of tryhard P3 Claudettes take it.

    2) Lithe. Now that its had its buff it's incredibly powerful. It's fairly easy to find a vault, and you get your speed burst without being crippled by having to walk around the map. On top of that the killer can't just run after you like with SB, they can't just drop after you like with BL, they often have to vault the window which itself slows them down.

    3) Balanced Landing. Absolutely insane on some maps. It's not just the speed burst it's the stun reduction. Can turn normal buildings into damn near infinites. However it's held back by being map dependant. The best of the best on Haddonfield, incredibly strong on either of the Crotus Penn maps, not nearly as good on Lery's, Rotten fields, sheltered woods or suffocation pit for example.

    4) Dead hard. It doesn't grant you that speed burst to get away from the killer but it's the perk that allows you to make a mistake and have a second chance in a loop. Slightly held back by being countered by instadowns or the easiest to counter with exhaustion add-ons. Also easiest to counter because you can wait for them to use it if theres no pallets nearby.

    @The_Crusader

What are you basing this on? I guarantee they always have plenty of perk ideas. Regardless.. maybe they don't want to change it or maybe they'll come up with a fair and easy tweak.

Paulie Ester made a good case in a recent video for the dlc being just a few weeks away.

The latest patch has these perks fully working, with icons, description etc ready to go.

It's possible there could be a tweak or two between now and then but it's highly doubtful anything is going to change massively. There simply isn't the time.

  • I think they said the skillcheck was the size of a tier 1 overcharge. Can't remember exactly.

It's small but not quite as small as before.

The skillcheck appears as you're being picked up now. So the killer can't dribble you anymore.

  • YES!

It's really good for the team now but nobody runs it.
