Come on man, let the Ochidoites have their fun too. Be a good sport and take the tbags, the flashlight clicking, walk around the map for 10 minutes after the gens are done to find them and then chase them out and give them a nice smile and a GG when they tell you to go die post game.

@The_Crusader The thing is, MoM will likely be much easier to deal with than DS pre patch. I understand that MoM is a extra chance, however it makes you the obsession and reveals your aura without showing you the killers aura. This leaves the perk vulnerable to Rancor. Furthermore, if squads stack this perk then killers can easily run NOED and stomp everyone into the dirt with insta-downs and aura reveals at the end.
I won't lie, I'm not stoked that survivors are getting another second chance perk. My reaction has the same enthusiasm that most survivors share when they hear about a new killer perk that shows survivor auras.
That being said, I can't help but feel like this perk will somehow be more balanced.
But the vast majority of the time, when the aura reading activates they will be on death hook anyway.
. 2 hits - hook
. unhooked - healed
. Hit them once perk activates, hit them again, doesn't count, continue chase and down them. Hook them.
.Unhooked - healed. Now the aura reading activates.
That's how it usually goes. So Rancor gives you nothing but an instadown on 1 person. Might as well just take NOED and instadown the whole team.
Plus who in their right mind is going to waste time healing on the last hook when the killer has Rancor? If you use Rancor I can guarentee anyone who isn't a potato is never going to heal and give you the aura reading.
Not only that but survivors can counterplay the killer in general...
1) By the time the perk is active it will be late-game anyway. Just rush the last gen or two while injured, then use adrenaline to heal. Now you just gotta evade for 20 seconds until the doors open.
2) Most importantly, heal yourself to 99%. Killer can't see your aura. If they find you then tap heal and you're back to full health. Doesn't matter about aura reading now because they found you anyway.
I mean experienced survivors could just combine it with an instaheal and dead hard anyway. Take a hit to acticate it, dead hard the next, instaheal, take a hit, next hit doesn't count, aura reading doesnt matter anyway because the killer is already chasing you, toxic players can use it to loop babykillers all game.
I'd say it's worse than DS. At least you could dribble DS. Or they could miss the skillcheck. There's no way to avoid this outside of using Billy or Huntress and M2'ing them only all game.
It goes further. A perk to lessen the impact of DS was Enduring. Throw it on and it works straight away and shortens the stun. The counter perk to this is Save the best for last, a perk where you need to build up tokens first for it to work. But you'll be losing tokens hitting the obsession anyway.
I feel thst like DS this is another perk where once again you're best off just ignoring the obsession all game. The only positive from this is that you don't get that horrible feeling of being stunned.
We still don't know how the non-obsession versions work but I imagine it can't be good for killers.

Did they say if the leaks were intentional yet?
Highly doubtful. If you watch Paulie Esthers video he makes a good case that this is releasing soon and was probably meant to be announced at Pax.
Unfortunately it also means that it's far too late for MoM to be changed. DS is back.
-
I think they've gone quiet mostly due to the leaks.
-
Yeah we all need to play nice together. This system actually encourages farming rather than competition.
Edit: Oh look it's a Hillbilly as well. Stronger killers can dominate easier, yet they still be stuck in low ranks for it. This is going to unbalance the game.
-
Imo the only one solo survivors truly need is the totem info.
I feel like solo survivor is fine with the majority of killers. It's only Noed that causes so many problems because you have no idea how many totems are done, and nobody wants to be the guy to do all 5 alone because you get no lightbringer for it which means depip with the new scoring system.
Nurse/billy/iri heads/moris. Yeah all that is questionable. However I don't feel that as a solo survivor I need too many buffs against Pig, Trapper or Wraith without NOED.
-
@Dehitay said:
I'll admit moris can be OP, but I don't recall any major nerf for self care and DS got buffed along with its nerf. Without dribbling being possible and needing to down recently hooked survivors at end game, it's now more useable, but less abuseable.
Second chance perks, immersed Claudettes, and fast games are just as prevalent as ever.
Still, I think it would be fair to add an extra requirement to a mori. Something like you need to get 5 survivor smacks in order to charge a mori in addition to the previously hooked requirement, and for ebony, another 5 each time you want to mori again.
Even just a time limit when unhooked before they can be mori'd would be fine.
Its not so much that they get you before the second hook, its the fact that once you're hooked the killer is just going to wait nearby and smack you down as soon as you're unhooked before you can get away or heal yourself.
At least if you had a chance to defend yourself after unhook it wouldn't feel so oppressive.

@Milo said:
TBH - We need to wait atleast a week or 2 now that she's on live to see if the's UP, OP or Balanced.
(survivors need to learn how to play against a Plag)
That and people need to unlock and experiement with perks.
For the most part you just react to her like you woukd a huntress when she has corrupt purge. Avoid clear shots. Don't drop pallets knowing shes going to throw a hatchet etc, or in this case fire a purge.
Just loop her when shes using vile purge. I've seen survivors panic though when broken and they don't play as well as they could.
-
Corrupt Purge. It's a lot of fun and can down multiple survivors in one blast.

A survivor who ignores gens will risk them getting repaired and not getting the chance to get any emblem points. So thats not how it works. I think it encourages gen rushing and trying to stay ingame for benevolence when its safer for them.
@ChesterTheMolester said:

Not only that. To get Gold you need to do 2 gens, nearly 3 for iridescent, by the time 2 people have it the game is pretty much done. This means survivors are kinda encouraged to stay and keep getting benevolence and risk their lives while the Killer can do little other than camp and tunnel trying to atleast keep his devout score, since new targets will likely get to leave not to risk their survival emblems which keeps Killers from getting chaser points.
Lol there are 5 gens.
Lets say survivors split uo and take a gen each at the same time - that's 4 gens done. Then all 4 of you get 1/4 of the last gen.
1 + 1/4 of a gen if everyone plays optimally.
You kind of need your teammates to be a bit weak as survivor now, weak enough that you get to do most of the work but not so weak they die too early.
Great ranking system.
-
Well they won't touch NOED so...
And while ebonys are bad, against a gen rush swf squad with the best toolboxes they're kind of neeses.
-
You'd think it would have been fixed ages ago but nope.
It was in the game long before the recent ptb btw.
-
Killers: Plague is low tier. She needs buffs.
Survivors: Plague is OP. She needs nerfs.
I'm guessing the truth is somewhere inbetween?
-
I just don't want potato survivors on my team. Beyond that I couldn't really care. I'm not expecting pros, just people who are decent and have enough game knowledge to make good decisions.
Running straight for a basement unhook while Bubba is still in the area is the kind of dumb ######### I often see. They don't even have BT.

dude you should still play it. I am the one that gets left behind and doesn't DC. I tell you what happens when killers load in with 2 survivors a majority of the time:
Survivor crouches and looks at killer-> killer either kills them straight away or understand this survivor wants to farm just to safety pip and lets them do it.
If you run away like a moron at the beginning when the killer finds you then yes it is gunna be ######### but you can either lose 2 pips and all your bloodpoints or you can stay and give the other person time to safety while you do the same and get a few points. That game is in the toilet yes but there is never a valid reason to DC unless you have an IRL thing to deal with. If you don't want to play it either go find the killer and let them kill you or AFK till the killer finds you.
DCing is toxic and only ruins someone fun.
I've stayed, other person disconnects.
I've stayed, killer hooks other person, they suicide on hook - happens with 3 people also.
Last time I stayed the other guy suicided on hook, I ran the killer for a bit then I got hooked, they hit me repeatedly, nodded at me, then gave me "ez ez noob team" in the post game chat and I depipped. Never again.
Ruins their fun? What fun? Game is broken at that point. Its faster to just realize the game is busted, leave and find a proper game.
Why am I staying? Whats the point? I'm depipping anyway, all because the game is broken and not through my own fault.

There actually used to be a bug just like that, and killers stuck around killing every single survivor who spawned, until the game crashed or they stopped coming. So yes, I think we all know the answer, though I'm sure some would pretend otherwise.
Lmfao, I KNEW it would be you of all people that would claim this.
-
Imagine if there was a bug where 5-6 survivors spawn in rather than 4.
Would killers stay in or disconnect? I think we all know the answer, though I'm sure some would pretend otherwise.

That is a problem with the game that needs fixing first. But if there is only 2 people loaded in because of a load error you have less gens to do. The only person you ######### over when only 2 people load in is the 4th person that is left to do 3 gens by themselves or do at least 2 before he can find the hatch. That is bullshit and ruins other peoples fun.
Lol that other person normally quits anyway. Less gens? Its still 3 gens between 2 survivors. 2 need doing for the hatch to spawn. 1 does gens while the other gets instadowned to a Billy. Good game.
Its garbage and nobody wants to play it. But there is this entitled killer mentality of "stay in and let me get the EZ win u guys". No I'm sorry but nobody wants to play a tilted game like that.

@KingB @The_Crusader Bhvr wants us to play nice together to pip. As a survivor if you don't allow hooks you dont pip and you cant gen rush as killer you need survivors to save each other enough. If you don't "cooperate" with the otherside it is much harder to pip. Just play how you want and let the chips fall where they may.
If it creates a rotten experience for newer players that is on bhvr not on you.
Funny that's exactly how I've seen it. You need to slow down and give the other side a chance. 5 gens and no hooks as survivor? Let the killer get hooks so you can unhook. Ended the game early as killer where all survivors are down? Let one up to unhook the others. It feels like you need to farm.
Imagine some 2000+ hour hillbilly instadowning everyone at the start of the game, and for that forever being stuck in low rank. Good luck to new players against that.
-
If there was a 30 minute ban I'd quit playing.
Load into a game and there are only 2 survivors in it due to loading screen issues....yeah no thanks. I'm not wasting time looking for the killer, I'm taking the quick way out.
-
No the best strategy is to pressure survivors, not wait around the hook to tunnel. Whats fun about that anyway? The fun is in the chases, thats why when I hook a survivor I go find a new one.
-
People just want a fun game. Most people that play killer are pretty bad. All they do is circle within 30m of the hook waiting for the tunnel. It's really dull.
-

The problem with the new system is you have to have a decent killer and a decent team.
Bad team or bad killer and you have to farm your way to a pip, farming just counters what they are trying to do, farm with a bad killer? he ranks up too.
That bad killer then goes against a good team? they all derank.
Create a cycle of pips and depips because nobody is matched up properly, rank reset will make it even worse.
It's farming like i said in the PTB, farm your way to Rank 1, which makes the ranking system again, useless.
You should atleast pip if you escape via the exit gates.
Very true. I'd like to add that I feel the new system punishes survivors for being altrusitc at end game.
If the killer gets no hooks so you just do gens and leave, you get a black pip.
If they hook one person after the last gen is done, you open the gates, attempt a rescue and bodyblock....if that bodyblock goes wrong, then you get an unsafe unhook and you actually depip from that.
Without BT or a co-ordinated team its actually beneficial for survivors to not risk it and just leave someone on the hook at the end.
-
Their system doesn't differentiate between solo and SWF so this would be impossible right now as once in a lobby/trial their game xan't tell who is solo and who is SWF. It's just 4 players to the computer.
-
Making them lose pips isn't the answer. This just makes ranks around 15 a cesspit of disconnectors. Imagine just starting the game, working your way up and seeing everyone d/c every game. Would you continue playing to rank up? Or just figure the game isn't fun and give up?
-
But MoM isn't the new DS we swear!!1

That's why you can't use it instantly, you're going to get at least a single hook on every survivor since it takes two hits to down them. After the survivor uses the perk and heal to the healthy state, your killer has Freddy's aura reading ability. If it's your Obsession, use Rancor and DON'T down them since when the last generator is powered, you can use MoM to find the Obsession. It's a free mori if you think about it.
But suicidefox has already done the testing...
- You get 2 hits, you hook.
- Survivor unhooks, heals
- You get a hit, perk is active. You take another hit to 'get rid of' the free health state just like you would eat a DS. Now you keep chasing, down them, hook them.
- They unhook, heal, now their aura is active.
- Now you can find them with Rancor. But guess what? They're on their third hook anyway. So you're gaining nothing really but a free instadown with Rancor. Could just take NOED and have a free instadown on the entire team.
Oh and even better, if they know you have Rancor then they sure as hell won't be healing on that third hook to give you their aura. They're gonna be down in 1 hit anyway once the last gen is done so why would they?
There's no point to taking Rancor other than to use the mori. They're gonna be on their third hook anyway by the time this perk is active. So much like DS it's a free escape that you have to eat.
-
I forgot to add. Unhooks being more important towards pips = survivors being even more competitive for unhooks = more rushed unhooks.
This was always the issue with the game and now it's even worse. This is why camping and tunneling works, because killers know that survivors need that unhook and that it's going to happen fast. So you get killers camping and 2 of your team crouching around the hook waiting for the killer to leave even though they have no intention of leaving, which means gens aren't getting done which makes it easy for killer.
"But camping killers get punished!!" I hear you cry.
Yes but is this really the best way? Ranks 10-15 are just a cesspit of campers, tunnelers and disconnectors. They all end up in these ranks due to theirnplaystyle. It really makes the game unfun to play. It's like your punished for not ranking up after reset.
-
If the killer hits you down within the first 15 seconds make the stun last twice as long.
It's the only way some killers will learn.
-
Yeah it was added in the ptb.
-
@Dreamnomad Talk about reaching. Gen pulls are few and far between with Nurse and Spirit (without prayer beads).
Oh but wait the possibility is there so I guess ir counts!! Just gotta gen grab them twice in a row. Easily done.
-
Slightly overweight? She looks prettt chunky in her new cosmetics.
As for what I think....it's irrelevant. A survivor is a survivor. Doesn't really matter how they look to me.
-
She certainly had more thought put into her than other killers. She's like the opposite of Legion. He causes you to mend/heal all game. She gives you instaheals but in return she gets an OP power. It shakes up the game quite a bit.
-
Some survivors are babies and quit for no reason yes, but some quit because they're fed up of killers who just circle the hook at a distance waiting to tunnel them. What's the point in playing on? It's so lame.
Some killers just tunnel someone as soon as they're unhooked and then wonder why nobody wants to play the game with them.

I have to agree with @SenzuDuck, it has a condition and a penalty after use, you don't get a free health state for doing nothing, you have to work for it. If this perk is such a big deal then where was y'all at when Deliverance came to Dead by Daylight. How about Decisive Strike, I'm surprised that @not_Queen's Decisive Strike thread got a lot of vote ups and awesomes for being the same thing as MoM. This is just ridiculous, you're all taught to not judge a book by its cover but still do, huh?
Work for it? lmfao how? by taking 3 hits? generally, you're gonna be taking 6 hits over the course of a game anyway if you die.
Deliverance doesn't extend chases hence why it gets a free pass. Plus there are many times it doesn't activate. The only way MoM won't activate is if the killer doesn't hit you 3 times which probably means you didn't get caught, escaped and won anyway.
-
Know whats funny? Barely anybody is using DS anymore.
They cry about tunneling, finally we get a good perk against it and nobody is running it. They aren't running it because it isn't brokenly overpowered anymore. Some people won't settle for anything less than OP.

@The_Crusader MoM wastes way less time than DS, you don’t have to pick them up/dribble and you don’t sit through a 5 second stun
1) You do the attack cooldown, and the survivor gets the speed boost. This can create a lot of distance and allow them to get to the next loop. It's probably about the same distance as DS gave you since the speed boost is included.
2) You could dribble the DS, you could slug them, your options against this are......?
It's worse than DS.

It gives a slight increase to overall health state (over the game) by one hit, if you look at it as bare bones, and though not game breaking times not on the killers side any way. So any thing which can prolong a chase even further is often met with unhappiness on the killers side. Its not as bad as DS was though.
How is it not as bad as DS?

I don't really play Survivor, so I never got to create my "Fat Survivor" build (Decisive Strike, Deliverance, Breakdown, Dead Hard). Now that Decisive needs you to be hooked first, it doesn't really fit the theme as well anymore, so I'd like a substitute. Any recommendations?
we'll make it or botany, your teammates will thank you for it.
-
How is it not as strong as DS?
DS gave you a free health state essentially, which is exactly what MoM does. Except DS could be dribbled, there is no counter at all to MoM other than camping the obsession on the first hook.

Can't disagree. It's felt really bad recently.

+1
The swipe animation + speed boost is giving them AT LEAST as much distance as the old DS gave the survivor and with zero counter play.
Which makes no sense when people say "oh its just another dead hard".
No, you can bait DH, clown and huntress can disable it completely, and dead hard doesn't give you the long attack cooldown or the speed boost.
It really is just another DS.
In fact no, you could dribble DS, you can't do ######### to this perk. I'd love to see what the non-obsession versions are too.

Only if you healed first. So if you take a hit during a chase and still end up being caught, the aura reading is still active. However you need to heal to activate the aura reading in the first place.
so you take a hit, sponge it, take another hit, go down, get hooked, get unhooked, heal, THEN the aura reading activates?
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Did more testing. Can confirm now that you do get the speed boost when hit and it triggers.
Also the aura reading effect lasts from the moment it is used to the next time you are put into dying. So it's not permanent for the entire game, just until the next time you get caught. However, considering that it needs 3 hits to activate, if you include the 4th sponge hit, that's 2 chases. On your third chase, when it would deactivate entirely, you would likely be dead anyway.
So with the weapon wipe cooldown and the speed boost this is basically more powerful than DS was.
Also aura reading...
If it activates, you take a hit, sponge it, take another hit, go down - does that end the perk? Meaning aura reading doesn't even come into play?

No its not, it doesnt stun you or makes the killer waste an unfair amount of time
it only works once, if you ask me thats a waste of a perk
DS gave a stun.
MoM gives you the attack cooldown weaoin wipe animation AND it gives the survivor the speed booat effect. So it evens out.
DS was just a one time use and look how that ended up.
-
Solo survivors have it hard enough now. Let them have the hatch.
-
Decisive - it's just one free stun.
Didn't work out too well did it?
