  • Wait. Don't tell me Bubba is cheating on me by camping someone else than me...

Oh you cherry picked that particular argument never mind where I said the entire match the killer is being a pepega? Or the fact that I excused a missed hit or two but the entire match I didn't?

I can discern if a killer is good and just happened to make awful mistakes or not. You can see it in killer movements. Most of the killers in Ayrun's video are straight up pepegas and eat pallets for a living.

I'm probably not young enough to know what a pepega is. Sorry if I misread your argument and replied wrong then, thinking you were saying we can judge someone on one match and from someone else perspective.

  • Bubba is trying to have a nice time with you, and you're angry! Why? Show some love, dance with your arms while on hook.

I guess I’ll just put it on their profile then if I do in fact stream at some point.

As long as I get a notification, it's fine by me!

I agree with most of what Gann said, of course, with a small addition: by and large, the lower rarity addons are better for learning any killer, but the uncommon (yellow) addons are the best for learning the flow of Spirit without sacrificing your ability to participate against potentially meta builds.

Thanks, I'm going to check them then. And thanks for the additional tips, I'll make sure to use the right addons while learning.

Mate, I saw what I saw. You just can't excuse that as 'bad matches'. I have my bad matches as well but no way I suddenly become a massive pepega the entire match and forget basic killer fundamentals. You can miss some lunges, fail some mind games ,etc fair enough but not the entire match. Even then you can tell by the killer movements if he's competent or not.

Probzz has better videos in that sense. I seen some good killers in there but just got outplayed so badly by the survivor.

Missing a hit is being a baby Killer? I was against a Wraith who had 4k hours (I checked their Steam profile), and missed three hits against me while I'm not as good as the content creators you mentionned.

I don't know if we can judge someone on one match. Maybe they didn't play for a long time and need to get back to it, but having lot of hours already. Maybe they were tired. Maybe they were on a bad mood and played poorly because of it...

You don't know if they were baby Killers. I'm not defending the content creators, I wasn't in their matches, so I don't know about the Killers. But having a lot of hours don't mean you're gonna be incredible each time you play a match.

There is plenty of advice to give to the OP as evidenced by all the other posts in this thread.

Plenty can be done for solo players. I only play solo and escape about 50% of my matches. Most of my losses are due to useless teammates not doing anything or trying to go for flashlight saves rather than doing gens.

You’re just bad, trolling or both.

This thread had nothing to do with killers or survivors dictating how the game should be, it was just asking for advice and you, in your typical brain dead fashion, had to go off topic and cry “killer bad need nerf, buff survivor”.

I think you have enough messages on the forums to know them. They're always publishing messages about how Killers are OP, how Survivors are helpless and need to be buffed. I think they complained about BBQ being OP once. So, you see...

  • Oh man, once, I had a Claudette who went to me for being healed. Right at the moment I was going to start the action, she dropped her green key, so I took it instead of starting the healing action. It made me drop my Halloween Medkit. She took it, teabagged me and ran away.

We were doing a generator together when the Killer came to us. The Killer ignored me to chase the Claudette, who was injured. The Killer used a Mori on her. I never teabag, but I did on her corpse. The sad thing is that I wasn't able to take my medkit back. Apparently, items don't drop when you get killed by a Mori.

    @Marigoria said:

You shouldnt drop your item to pick up the box imo.

If someone steals my items I'll make sure they die. if I cant keep it, neither can them.

I agree. The item should be on the "void", as when you're picked up by the Killer/on a hook. So no one can steal it while you were trying to do something useful.

  • Please, don't watch the movies. They're not a good representation of the games. If you don't want to play Silent Hill 2 (where PH comes from), or if you can't, watch a playthrough on YouTube. It's a real good game. I'm not biased at all. (I'm a huge fan of the three first Silent Hill games, but I'm not biased.)

Congratulations about your 4K. Pyramid Head was the very first Killer I've played. It was even on Midwich, and a Cheryl was in the opponent team. I didn't understand at all what I was doing, it was fun. I hope you'll enjoy playing PH for a long, long time!

  • @Tr1nity said:

As for tips, I know @TheGannMan could help.

Thanks, I've heard they are a Spirit main but I didn't even think about tagging them. I appreciate you did.

    @GannTM said:

I’m not a content creator (although I have been thinking about Twitch streaming at some point) I can give you some advice on Spirit as I play her a ton. Honestly, I don’t really know of any content creator Spirit mains that are still around.

As for advice on Spirit, duration isn’t your best friend on most loops. Short bursts are what you need to be doing a lot of the time as trying to mind game and stay in your power for a long time will likely confuse you and won’t do you much good. Basic brown and yellow add ons that affect activation charge speed and movement speed are helpful in putting you in this habit and are just overall good beginner add ons that aren’t super game breaking but are still helpful.

On jungle jims and shack, there is a bit more mind gaming you need to do with your power like baiting survivors into vaulting a window or throwing the pallet to meet them on the other side. For example, on a long wall jungle jim, one trick that does work is if you know a survivor is near the pallet and is camping it, you can bait them to drop it, go around the short side, and then you can hit them while their likely still in pallet dropping animation. Spirit moves very fast, so keep that in mind.

One thing that a lot of Spirit players haven’t adapted to since her nerf was that if you are face to face with a survivor on a really safe dropped pallet like shack, don’t bother trying to mind game it as they’ll hear you coming from the other side very easily. Just break the pallet and use your 176% movement speed to catch up with them. Her Iri add on, Kintsugi Teacup, can help you get in that good habit.

That’s some basic advice I can give you. If you have any additional questions like how you can use specific add ons, I’ll be glad to try as best I can to be helpful :)

Thanks a lot for the advice. It'll help me next time I'll play Spirit. Also, if you stream one day, tag me somewhere in the forums/send me a private message with a link to your Twitch. I'd like to watch you playing Spirit.

  • Survivors should start the trial in the dying state.

  • If it's a bug, I think it's better to report there.

I disagree here. The methodology for the current MMR is not the best. Kills and Escapes alone are bad factors to calculate MMR and hopefully, that can be changed in the future.

That said, the previous Rank system was a joke for the average player. You were often allocated with clueless teammates and/or rivals and reaching red ranks was even worse as killers with thousands of hours were thrown into the package.

I remember the first time I've reached red ranks. I was so proud of myself! I'm a pro, now! Well, I was a freaking burden most of the time. I've met Killer who were much, much more stronger than me, and teammates who were looping for 5 generators (but the Killer often understood I was the weak link and killed me easily).

I even went against a big streamer who had something like 6000 hours. I had 300 hours. Just because we both were red ranks. I don't even know if I've learnt something against them as they were too strong for me. I had no clue what I was doing. But you repaired two generators, you cleansed one totem, you saved one guy, you opened one chest... And you had your +1.

I even reach rank 1 by being stealthy. I wanted the achievement. I wanted to be a "pro"! I used Spine Chill to hide each time the Killer went to me from 30 km, and I usually waited them at the Exit Gates to get "Escaped" points for the Boldness category. Skilled rank 1 player, eh? XD

So, MMR isn't the best, but the old ranking wasn't the best neither.

  • Aww, that's awful... I went against a Billy who was lagging as hell once. I stunned him with a pallet, and one second later, he was behing me. It took him something like 30 seconds to pick me up. He wasn't baiting the pick up, it truly looked like he was stuck in the animation. Then, we stayed 30 more seconds under the hook. My wiggle bar was full, but he didn't move. And he disconnected... Or his Internet died most likely.

It's terrible when you think you have done the right choice, but your opponent is laggy/has a less better connection than you, and things like that happen.

  • I don't know if Yun-Jin is looking Jane for her body or because she's like, "girl, STOP TO BE TOXIC".

As usual, your drawing is awesome (I mean, @C3Tooth). Last time I've seen a good Bloodwarden, I was against a Pyramid Head. He opened the door (but I didn't notice it was him), then he hooked a Dwight. I saved the Dwight, I went to the gates, and we both saw the barrier. Pyramid Head went to us and we all stared at the barrier as the EGC timer was ending. Of course, we died.

But man, it was so funny looking at the barrier. The Killer went to us like, "sorry guys, you're dead". It was also an awesome end game chat were the Killer, Dwight and I agreed about the fact the end game was actually fun. I don't mind being sacrifized at all if everyone is having fun. (Or the majority at least, as the two other players were silent.)

    Edit: typo.

  • Nerf Trapper, the fact he can put traps on the ground, even if it costs him like three generators to use one, is OP. I'm not kidding, nerf Trapper!

(OK, as I know some will think I'm serious, I have to break the joke now: yes, I'm joking.)

I stopped to meet The Artist a week ago. It was like, everyone was playing her because she got released and now, everyone forgot about her. I'm wondering if she's strong... Because when people played her, they were discovering her power mostly. I've heard she's A or S tier, but as no one is player her now... She might be not that great... Well, I like her crows. They're cute. And Blight? I don't know. I love to face him. I don't see an issue with Blight.

  • Well, another "players who play Survivors are all toxic"? I don't believe you meet toxic players from all your games. But you probably remember more the ones when someone teabagged or clicked their flashlight.

Not all players, no matter what side they play, are toxic. But when I read threads like this, it seems like the entire population of the planet Earth is toxic.

I don't even know what toxic means anymore to be honest.

  • Well, Heather's ugly sweater wasn't for her love to Legion. Big spoiler. But I always hear people saying that "it's nice they add Legion on Heather's sweater". Yes... A licensed character not representing their license... It makes sense.

    Also...

    https://youtu.be/H_s0TVpJw9Y

If it wasn't already enough clear with "Silent Hill" on the top.

  • Ranks don't exist anymore. The grades you're speaking about are not taken into consideration to match players together. I'm not saying your matches are not unfair tho, I don't know, I wasn't here. (I mean, if you go against SWF as I'm solo.)

  • And what kind of nerf? Do you have suggestions, like the one you did with the parts to find before being able to repair?

Asking for nerf while we don't even know what perks you are thinking of, nor what kind of nerf about these perks you want, is hard to discuss. Because the forums are for discussion, right?

  • I don't know. We could have a kind of event each month, as a separate mode. But it won't be a ranked mode. More or less a mode with restriction, like: you can only use the perks on the list for this mode. Nintendo does it with Pokémon. (I'm speaking about online battles, of course.) We had events which were a lot of fun with restriction, like: you can only use baby Pokémon. It's refreshing as you usually don't play these Pokémon online as you'll get destroyed most of the time. It lasts only a week-end usually, and you get a reward for participating (and I believe a reward if you reached a good place).

I don't think a ranked mode would work. "Sweaty" players won't go for it if they prefer the "casual" mode. I mean... The players you consider sweaty won't magically disappear from your lobbies if you choose the casual mode. Some of them won't be interested into a ranked mode, others won't consider themselves "sweaty" for trying to win with meta perks...

The idea is nice, but I don't see the theory being as cool as we think it should be.

  • If you're a good looper, try to take the aggro as soon as possible. It'll let time to your teammates to do some generators. But no matter what perks you use, it won't improve their performance. BT? Great, but if the Killer tunnels them, and they were downed in five seconds during their first chase, they won't last long.

If your MMR is too low for your skills, try to be super sneaky, and escape as much as possible without helping your teammates if it's too risky. I don't encourage being selfish but if you wan't evade low MMR and your teammates aren't decent enough, well, I can't suggest something else than 'be selfish until you reach an average MMR where people are decent enough to have fun'.

  • As I don't do anything people could consider toxic, I can't answer. But what do you mean, by toxic? Do they teabag? Do they click their flashlights like a crazy?

Not all "surv main" are "toxic".

  • It looks fine to me too.

  • Some offerings should be removed. We should only have ones to earn more BP, ones for Mori, and maybe the ones for the hatch to spawn (which is not as problematic as it was before now it spawns only when there is one Survivor left).

I once was with three Survivors who played together, and the three of them had a sabotage build. Breakout, Saboteur, toolboxes, and three purple offerings--the one which increase distance between hooks. I felt so bad for the Killer, I even stopped struggling at a moment to give them a chance to achieve at least one hook (after they lost twice in a row the Survivor they were trying to hook). I don't know if the offering have made a big difference, but if the three of them took it, it was probably the case. It really felt unfair.

  • What's your favorite exhaustion perk? What's your favorite Killer to play as/against? Do you prefer to play (as/against) melee or ranged Killers? Is Oni the more handsome Killer of them all? What's your favorite chapter?

  • Better to open a ticket to report the issue. If it's a bug, it'll be known. If it was a hacker... Well... I don't know.

I never had the issue, I can't tell. But I prefer to think about a bug to start with.

  • I agree about generators. I usually see people who play Killers complaining about how fast the five generators were done. A few hours ago, I was against a Legion. They were decent, it was fun to be chased by them. But... They downed me, and three generators were done. They stayed near the hook and tunneled me until I died.

I can't blame them for doing it. One chase, three generators lost? I don't want the chases to be shorter, because it's the fun aspect of the game. As a Killer, it's fun to hunt, to chase, and to be rewarded to end a long chase by finally downing your opponent. As a Survivor, it's fun as well to run away from the Killer and trying to mindgame on a pallet.

I don't know what could be done about generators. I'm a solo Survivors, but most of the time, I have decent teammates who know how to hold M1, how to make a chase... Sometimes, we are completely destroyed, but it's fine. It happens.

I don't know if we need more time to repair a generator, if we need new objectives Survivors must do in order to escape... I'm not a game developper, I'm afraid of having my own biased idea of how to balance a game. But, as I said, from what I've read here and there, generators seem to be the biggest issue. Camping and tunneling? It seems like some players use these strategies because they're afraid/used to see too many generators popping during the first chase.

  • He was facing a SWF. I don't watch him, so I don't know, but I guess against a full solo lobby, he would do better. I think the game is more SWF sided than Survivors sided. And good SWF.

I'm a solo player, and this kind of scenario rarely happens to me. And the rare cases it happen, I'm with a 3-man SWF.

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

I said it once and I'm saying it now: too many licensed killers are bad for the game and take cool designs and easter eggs away from the original concepts. The Artist is the first original Killer that is actually creepy and looks intimidating, compared to the anime disaster we previously had as a non-licensed killer.

The first time I've met Oni... Man, I remember how scared I was. Hearing him from away, "RAAAWR", then seeing him coming to me with his big weapon and the whole red smoke around him...

I agree Trickster isn't as scary as some other Killers tho. But what do you think of Legion? I don't find them scary, except when they wear the Silent Hill bunny costume (but because it reminds me the park from Silent Hill 3).

Maybe Trickster could have been more scary like... Like Huntress can be with her outfits full of raw meat...

  • I rarely play Killer, but...

    • Dead Hard.
    • Prove Thyself.

I don't have a third perk to mention as I rarely play Killer...

    As a Survivor, I dislike:

    • Rancor. OK... It's a personal reason. The rare times I've seen Rancor, I was the Obsession. Like, each time.
    • Undying.
    • Devour Hope.
  • Spirit was popular before her nerf. I barely see her since, but I've seen her almost every matches before. I'm even wondering the reason I still run Iron Will, as it was mostly to counter Stridor. (Maybe to counter the annoyance of my characters crying...).

    @Sepex said:

Want to agree or disagree just hard to see those damn tier pictures on my phone.

Very popular: Huntress, Leatherface, Spirit, Blight.

Popular: Nurse, Trapper, Wraith, Pyramid Head, Trickster, Nemesis.

Average: Myers, Doctor, Freddy, Pig, Legion, Plague, Ghostface, Demo, Artist.

Not popular: Billy, Clown, Oni, Hellraiser.

    Mostly "disliked": Hag, Slinger, Twins.

  • I swear the forums is getting more boring everyday. Third thread I read today about us vs. them.

Time to close the forum for weeks once again.

  • @xxshyguyxx said:

That moron would have said that if you had 4k too. It's just BM bullcrap that's typical from survivors. They expect to win these days.

If they do, they call you trash. If they don't they call you trash.

Turn off the chat and facecamp some games using NOED. You'll have more fun. Make it about you. And only you. Tunnel the hell out of 1 person each game you play to better your odds.

Th3n watch them cry at the end. The typical concenses is only survivors are allowed to be toxic. You do it, and sit back with some popcorn and enjoy yourself.

    Switch it up. Screw em.

LOL. Like we have Survivors on a side and Killers on the other. Most of us play both sides and aren't insulting in the end game chat. You act like everyone does.

  • @Mooks said:

All those ‚US vs THEM‘ threads (as this one is exactly just another of) kinda forget that MANY people are playing both sides…

This. Most people play both sides. Maybe we play one side more than the other, but still.

I don't understand the reason some people feel there is a war between both sides.

But it reminds me the MMO I played before. Players like to say that the developpers favored one class when it got a buff, or one role, or one side (PVE vs. PVP)...

Spoilers: all developpers of all games don't work to earn money but to favor one side.

  • I'd say as much as you. Three or four hooks if I was able to end some chases before they all leave me (HOW RUDE THEY ARE). If the Survivors were good, I'm glad I've got one hook. I don't camp that one hook, I go chasing someone else... But it's more because I wanna learn/have more fun chasing people than getting a kill.

  • I'm tired of using Dead Hard, I've decided to change. Also, I've decided to run perks I like instead of perks I think will make me better... And I have more, more fun.

Overcome, Iron Will, Resilience, Boon: Circle of Healing. You got a hit, you fly to the moon, you heal yourself, and you work on your objective the time your exhaustion comes back. If the Killer didn't lost track of you/is still chasing you, you were able to make your way to a safe place with Overcome.

As I was a healer in a previous game, I also like to run: Desperate Measures, Botany Knowledge, We'll Make It, Borrowed Time. You're like the savior. They count on you to live. You're the medkit they lost to Franklin's.

  • I was playing a MMO before. I played it for five years before I left, I was there since its beta. Numbers of time (since beta) I've read "The game will die next month"... I didn't count. It's been two years since I've left and the game is still pretty much alive. New content, new players, the YouTubers I followed are still doing content and get as much views as before...

Queue times don't mean the game is gonna die. It's been a year (and two months) I started to play DBD and the queue time always have been the same for me. Daytime: instant Survivor queue/long Killer queue. Nightime: long Survivor queue/instant Killer queue. It depends where you live, what time you play, etc.

  • I'm glad for you! Enjoy the event now!

    thanks!

I was planning to make some models of main buildings, and figure out how to get killers into minifigure form. I'm not planning to do any stop motion, however.

if I can plug my own Youtube channel, though, I did make a playlist of DBD themed songs a while back. :) Songs By Daylight - YouTube

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGW4TiB1pAoyhiy0ZOhFZ9RcMftJx8pj1

I listened Julie's Mixtape, and it's pretty nice! I'd like to hear it with some DBD gameplay (Survivor/Killer, as you prefer). It'd be a nice addition. But the music itself is cool. If sound wasn't as important in game I'd like to listen some of your songs if they're all as good as this one while playing. I'll definitely give a hear to the rest of the playlist later.

  • I gave a "free hit" to Killers when I hide in a snowman to unlock cosmetics. I wanted to be friendly as well, being like: thank you for giving me the particles, give me a hit and let's start a chase.

I didn't play Killer yet but I do hope they unlock a cosmetic by hitting me while I was in a snowman.

  • Thanks for sharing, it was cute to watch. If you work on Lego stuff as well, I hope you'll reach your goal to make some cool scenes. :)

  • I'm hesitating between Nemesis and Trickster. I'd say Trickster because I think Nemesis' tentacles are easier to predict/avoid. Plus, he has to build his power by reaching tier 3.

I'm not a K-pop fan, I never listen K-pop, but I do like Trickster's look. So, at least, I can rank his outfit when I face one...

  • I don't think so. I've had Adam's ugly sweater before I unlocked the character for instance.

  • @Tactrix said:

I just escaped in a snowman for fun and got a cosmetic! Didn't even know that was a thing lol.

Don't tell me we have to escape as a Snowman to get the cosmetics...

  • Play both side. I've learnt a lot by playing Killer (and started to enjoy the role as well).

  • Hello. I'm a Huntress "main", I never camp nor tunnel. At least, not on purpose. I mean, if I go away from the hook and the unhooked one is right in front of me one minute later, I won't ignore them.

I think you're older than me, but I feel less alone to be the "old one". I'm only 32, but been playing since I'm a kid. I started a few years after you: in 1996. :)

I've been using the Prodipe Pro880 Studio Can (their primary use for me is music production) since my earbuds decided to stop working.

It looks exactly like the ones my fiancé borrowed me before I bought the Arctis 1 from Steelseries. It hurt my ears, which are very fragile... Not to enter into details, but I have a kind of surgical steel in my auricles. So, I can't wear every type of headphones... But thanks for your answer, it sounds like a good headphone.
