The real issue is the difference between four solo players and SWF. I don't know how we could balance Killers between the two. Solo players are not coordinated because they can't speak to each other, while SWF know where the Killer is ("They're chasing me on the shack"), when to make a save ("I take the aggro, go for it"), what generator is being repaired ("Don't bring the Killer there!"), etc.
I wouldn't mind that we buff Killers if solo players get a small buff as well. Nothing fancy, but something to reduce the gap between solo and SWF, so having buff on Killers would make more sense.
Also, I'm not sure the developpers listen to people who complain. They have data, they probably use them to decide how to balance instead of reading some random thoughts on the forums.
I wasn't here before the Billy nerf... But does anyone asked for it? I read everywhere that everyone misses the old Billy.

Bye.

What's happening with all the necro? That's like the third thread today I've seen.
-
Fate. Each time I bring a BPS or an Anniversary Cake, I'm sure I'll be downed first then camped. So, I won't even get anything from it.
I'm not expecting a farming game, but at least... Not being over with 4k BP because all I have done was one chase.
-
Why did you come to tell us you're the one who will run to the Killer to get killed as soon as possible to go to your next match?
I don't know what you expected as answers.
-
Yay, a new Survivors vs. Killer thread! So long time since the last one. Because we all know when you click on "Play Survivor" or "Play Killer", you can't go back... You're stuck in one role and you're forced to play only one until you come to the forums to complain because you don't win 100% of your trials easily.

I wish I still had my ol' cassettes. I miss them. But I'm living in a very small appartment with my fiancé, and until we move, I can't add more to my shelves than my books.
That's a nice collection. Where did you find them? From second hand?

Depends on the time of the day.
I'm in the EU, and during the day I get various killers (though I get a lot of the same team mates which can be good or bad depends).
At night I get more of the same killer, but not that much.
I'm from EU as well.
I'll give it a new try today but I'd prefer to have a good variety of teammates/Killers.

Everybody loves to run BBQ for the extra BP, not the information. The auras are still a nice touch for people who are super good with Huntress tho.

This is the best advice, at least on PC.
Once I turned it off, I stopped getting dwights with 10 hours.
Don't you always have the same players, again and again? I have the same issue as the OP, but fortunatelly not the whole day. At the end of the afternoon, I have players with under 100 hours (while I have 1700 hours).
But last time I've turned crossplay off, I faced only one Killer (who was pretty good and nice, playing a different Killer each match) and I had the same teammates (with two of them being in a war to kill each other for some unknown reason, but one of them was super angry). The players had the same amount of time as I did. I was months ago tho.
-
I've been running Overcome and CoH to take protection hit for my teammates, zooming away, then healing myself. It works very well.
-
Ranks don't exist anymore. It's called grades and are just useful to earn a reward during the reset. We have MMR now. If you want to lower your MMR, do not escape.
Escaping = your MMR goes up
Dying = your MMR goes down

BT is only effective if the killer tunnels the person straight off hook.
If killers didn’t tunnel/camp then it would be a pointless perk
Unless the Killer waits for the timer to be out to give the hit. If the Survivor is unable to make it to a safe zone, well, BT didn't truly help. (Nor the teammate if they ran away being like, "you have BT, you're fine, idc".)

Often, at the end game your only play is to "tunnel" the one person who is injured unless you have some insta-down ability. The only other alternative is to hit someone uninjured and then everyone just leaves.
I would argue that this isn't even what tunnelling means. Tunnelling is a problem when you do it at the start of the game to make it a 3 vs 1. At the end game it is quite reasonable for the killer to try to get a kill. Nobody should ever feel bad about going straight after the unhooked person when all the gens are finished.
I agree. I don't mind being tunneled if it happens after the five generators have been done. Usually, at this point, I feel I've done enough to call a match fun. If the Killer wants to secure the kill by tunneling me because I'm now on death hook, I don't blame them. After all, other Survivors probably 99 a door, maybe both, they are healthy so ready to take a protection hit for me...
It's like calling a Killer who stays near the hook after the five generators have been done a camper. Well, they could have more kill by chasing other people and slugging, but it's not a guarantee.
Tunneling and camping after the five generators have been done is fine by me, especially if the Killer was unlucky and have zero kill at this moment...

You deserve that for tunneling. Honestly, I feel you though. I play both sides. The tunneling and the meta perks bug me. I feel like they should be limited. Two a match, not four. Also, I feel that BT should be basekit. The tunneling has to stop as well. There has to be moderation. DH needs a nerf and DS is fine where it is.
I wouldn't mind about BT being base kit, but I think in that case we need to give something base kit to the Killers as well. I'm for Kindred base kit too but without the Killer's aura being revealed. It'll help solo Q, because sometimes, we assume someone is going for the save as we see them running to this direction but actually, they were doing something else. And that's a waste of time if everyone goes for it because no one has an idea is someone is going for it. This sentence is too long. But same, Killers would need something base kit once again to compensate.
I don't know what could be base kit. Probably strong perks as well. BT is one of the best perk for Survivors and Kindred is nice.
-
I go to the Killer and let him hook me for free. I don't want a DC penalty because someone decided to hack, but I don't want to take advantage of it. So, I ask for being hooked then I cross my fingers for no Kobe/no one to save me in time.
-
I don't understand. Only new players will be allowed to play the futuristic mode?

@ElusivePukka said:
SWF comms essentially doubles the perk capability of a survivor team capable of capitalizing on that information, by mirroring most info perks in the game, making their loadout effectively 32 perks to the killer's 4. Yeah, it sucks, and killers/SoloQ should both be buffed to compensate.
I disagree that it "ruins" anything, or that it takes the skill out of an intrinsically low-skill game, though. Most teams can't or won't manage to capitalize perfectly on that info. I think the steady changes in Cote's mission from creating a stealth horror game to an action objective game have hurt the 'suspense' far more than anything else, and I think BHVR continuing to bill this as a horror game is deceptive advertisement.
Solo Q got buffed, look at Small Game! We have a totem counter now!

"unhooks me even though she doesn't have BT"
Well, you did the same in the previous match.
-
It doesn't matter what Killer you play. Having people who refuse to progress the game by hiding the whole time is no fun.

@RenRen said:
I disagree. Maybe it's just my area but there has been a significant decrease in players, both survivor and killer. I mostly see the same people every time I play which was not the case before the RE chapter.
I play several hours per day, and I rarely have the same players in my lobbies.

I'd agree that in the best interest of the game, BHVR would be wise to invest in a health chapter and it would pay off immensely for them.
However, for some reason, I don't think BHVR agrees. Whether it's because they just want the short sighted profits, can't do it (as it's pretty well established the game has spaghetti code being held together with the hopes and prayers of children), they think the game is going to go down sooner rather than later anyway (so why invest a bunch of time and money into something that won't survive) or some other reason, BHVR seems to have no real desire to fix all the issues this game has going for it.
If they were thinking the game was dying or not enough profitable, I don't think we would have more licenses. And we know the next chapter is gonna be one. And we had two recently.
Maybe it'd take too much time/energy to do some health chapter because of the code, as you said. It'd probably be like redoing the whole game.
But I'm all for a healthy chapter.

You can only recover 95%, UB let's you get that 5% yourself.
My logic was that if you even got to 95, you can just get a buddy to finish you off

I'd put Sprint Burst either in second place with Overcome or slightly behind in third place. Nothing gets that close to Dead Hard
I'd say second better with Overcome then. It can't be under Overcome as we can't use Overcome while being injured (unless there is an Endurance status effect at this moment), which makes it a bit less effective than SB.

I've watched videos of people stacking WMI with Selfcare, BK and a medkit. It was insane how fast they self-healed. They were able to take protection hits forever.

Overcome is the second best Exhaustion Perk
I actually agree with you for Overcome. DH and SB are both number one to me.

I stopped to use DH a few weeks ago... Well, I know I won't be back to it soon. I have much more fun with Overcome and SB.
DH is the best exhaustion but it's not mandatory for doing a good chasd IMO.

Sprint burst isn't a problem at all. You don't get sprint burst mid chase. You don't get to sprint burst without saving it for the right moment. You don't get to erase a mistake with every sprint burst. You can't greed every single pallet and window with sprint burst without even having it. You can't keep sprint burst hidden until you need it.
You have sprint burst you use it, make distance and that's it. If you make a mistake or the killer has some way to catch up quickly you don't get anything.
You can use SB on the middle of a chase. I do. It's not 100% of the time, but if you manage well your exhaustion timer and walk from time to time during a chase, it works.
I also rarely save SB. I run everytime I need to, to reach a gen, a hook, etc. SB is pretty good if you know how to manage it. Plus, use Fixated and Vigil and you have the infinite SB build (that I don't use tho, as I don't like having half my build to serve one perk). Even without Fixated and Vigil, it's still OK to manage it.
DH is more reliable in a sense, because you can save it until you decide to press the button. But SB is way more fun IMO (and probably less unfair from the Killer's POV).

Not Mary - I mean Maria?
Sorry, but no. My first SH was the 3, I was the same age as Heather (17 y/o). She was a kind of hero to me because she was so confident in herself, something I had a big lack of then.
I know it probably sounds weird, but it helped me to build more confidence. Heather is important for me because of that. I always preferred to dream, creating stories about my favorite characters from games and books, than having a real social life.
So, for these reasons, Heather is my favorite character.

I don't use DH anymore and I'm fine.

@Shroompy said:
People would just use Sprint Burst and the stats wouldn't change much if at all
I already use SB, it's as good as DH if you know how to manage your exhaustion.
But to come back to the thread, I wouldn't mind. Experiments are fun IMO. I remember we had a week-end without Bloodlust. I was pretty new at this moment, I didn't notice the difference (I was extremely bad, it didn't change anything to me because the Killer caught me before Bloodlust could even starts its first tier).
I'm doing the experiment for myself as I stopped to run DH a couple of week ago. It doesn't feel as terrible as I'd think it'd be. I even feel better as I enjoy SB more, but I know it's purely subjective.

Great now everyone is punished
Because us, people who don't BM, apparently don't exist. I stopped to care if a Killer hit me on hook/if a Survivor teabag me. I had a GF who teabagged me during the whole time of bleeding out because "your SWF is toxic". I'm solo, I don't control what others do. But I also don't feel insulting them/BM them back. It'd become a circle of hate, I refuse to be part of it.

Don't have the chapter, what's the requirement? Down survivors with the crows?
My Steam is in French, but from what I've read from the achievements, you have to down 50 Survivors with crows. And you don't need to own a chapter to see the achievement on Steam. I don't own Leatherface but I have access to his achievements for instance.

There is nothing saying console players can't have them on the official news.
In partnership with Twitch, Dead by Daylight is continuing to offer selected Twitch streamers exclusive Twitch T-Shirt cosmetics – now for an expanded list of characters! While in the Fog Whisperer Q&A, it's clearly said console players are not concerned yet.
"Though we have a lot of creators we keep an eye on in the console space, we are still working on establishing consistency in our perks to support creators on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. We thank you for your patience as we grow the program!"

OK. What if I'm playing Huntress/Trickster and... I'm kicking the generator near the hook because I have Pop but I also need to reload to a near locker? Am I getting a penalty for playing the game without camping? Because I think it takes more than 10 seconds to do it. And what if I stayed a few more seconds to check if around the hook, there's not someone sneaking to make a save? What if I've heard someone's breath around the hook but I can't find them immediately?
It sounds like a good solution on paper, but it'd punish Killers who don't camp but stay near the hook for the reasons I've mentionned. I can't think of more for now.
As a Survivor, I also don't want to stay more in the game while being camped. I usually wait till the very end to let time for my teammates to repair as many generators as possible, but staying even longer doing nothing? No, thanks.
Also, I think a kind of mechanic like the one you described existed before and it was broken from what I've heard. (I wasn't there, I've just heard of it, so I could be wrong.)
-
I don't care if she's S tier or F tier. She's awesome, and I'll learn how to play her to make her my new main. I wish I was meeting as much Spirit as before.
I also don't think the Stridor nerf was necessary. I appreciate the fact it doesn't make my moan louder but only from my own perspective because Stridor without IW was a real pain for my ears. But IW should have at least be countered by Stridor still. I mean, now we have directional sound for Spirit, it's fine.

I changed the way I play precisely because I didn't care to take the game seriously. If I took the game seriously I wouldn't care about sweating because winning would be all that matters but I would prefer to have fun. The pocket of survivors I find myself in seems to be good players that don't care about escaping. So essentially we are playing the same playstyle, casual, but only I, as the killer, am being punished for it.
If you don't take the game "seriously", why do you care that much about grades?
Also, I don't think doing your best to win and having fun are so different. I do my best to win and I have fun doing it. I don't like the argument "casual = fun, serious = unfun". I'm serious when I play, even if I always appreciate some laugh (like that moment the Killer and I stared at the Gates because of Bloodwarden, and we waited the timer to be out for me to die while Bloodwarden was still active).
Being serious doesn't mean I bully. I'm not sweaty. If I see the gens are flying and the Killer has only a couple hooks, I find a new objective like cleansing all totems, opening chesties, running around to visit the map...
Please, stop telling having fun is not compatible with being serious. I respect the way you want to have fun tho, if playing in a more casual way is fun for you, I encourage you to do so. We should play the way we want as long as we respect the ToS (and each others IMO, but some players like to bully no matter what).
-
My solo Q teammates usually teabag if the Killer tried to facecamp someone at the end of the game but we still got the save. If you pretend to miss your hit when they're unhooking, then, pretend to chase the unhooked one but hit the ones who want to take protection hit.
I usually leave immediately if I see everyone's safe but I can still see them teabagging like crazy at the Exit Gates.
As someone else suggested, hit them on hook a few times like you're so angry against them. Or pretend to be a new player who doesn't understand yet how to hit properly.
