Want to start designing the t-shirts? Maybe it'll help convince people to join the cause lol

It needs to have a picture of the basement with the quote “jUsT cRoUcH 4hEaD!!!”

I wish it was Hag but unfortunately it's probably Freddy.

Doctor, Deathslinger and Spirit get a decent bit too but not as much as Freddy.

  • Sandbagging or kiting survivors.

    They’re the absolute WORST killers.

Yeah, but I saw a streamer. He was unable to get out, but stood right in front of the spikes. When the killer downed him, he escaped anyway. So not like it does much.

That’s a good thing to bring up actually. It really is pointless for Charlotte to stroll into a gate, up to a survivor blocked by the Entity due to Victor, only for them to default “exit” the second they’re downed.

  • @UMCorian said:

Watching Streamers play him, I'm not exactly sure how best to use Victor honestly. I think the most powerful part of him is the tracking he provides when not controlling him, so you park him nearish to a hook and can immediately tell when someone's coming for the rescue. Or a gen that's nearly done.

I need to see better killers than me play him more. He seems really hard to use to deal damage though and you're right, the latch on doesn't really seem to do much.

I think he needs an M1 attack (if he doesn't - haven't seen any streamers use it if he has one), as it seems the best thing you can do is 360 him... it's like trying to hit a Survivor in melee running around you with a hatchet for Huntress. If she couldn't M1, that would be the easiest way to play against her.

The one thing I can say for certain is that it certainly makes no sense to travel too far from Charlotte as Victor. Travelling across the map as Victor would serve little purpose.

I was messing around with it tonight, and it did make one killer look for me in a locker that I wasn't in. You basically flick it open but keep running without scratch marks. Dance With Me you have to spend the time jumping in and out to be used in the same way, but you can also use it over vaults.

Ah ok, I get it now. I didn’t understand that the survivor doesn’t actually enter the locker to activate it.

Now I can see how cool it might be actually paired with Dance With Me (for vaults).

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Please stop. Unless you're at an open exit gate or have tenacity you're actively lowering your teams potential to escape.

I’m only going to do that if a chase is being lead away from me. Otherwise I want to be left alone to crawl to a hiding spot, then recover.

  • No. Only windows vaults.

  • The only issue with Sam as a survivor is that BHVR would also need to license Hayden’s likeness in conjunction with the Until Dawn license.

  • @Mr_Lemon said:

This is just a small simple idea since a few other games I play have it as well and that is, since we have cross play in dbd would it be possible/a good idea to make a way for console players to access a version of the ptb and allow them to give feedback and problems that might be on console?

Sony have a lengthy approval process for changes/updates and new programs.

And seeing as a PTB would need to be a separate app to DBD, BHVR have already stated how cumbersome and problematic it would be to apply to Sony for review BOTH a PTB update AND and official update.

  • Almost everyone misunderstands No Mither.

No. It doesn’t suck. It does exactly what it intends to do.

    • Switches on “Hard mode” for survivors that find the game too easy.
    • Gives synergy to Resilience, Dead Hard, and other injury based perks right from the start of the match.
    • You’re not meant to get a free revive out of No Mither. It’s supposed to FORCE the killer to pick you up. You can use that knowledge to help the team. Someone being tunnelled to death? Take a protection hit for them and force the killer to pick you up. Killer trying to snowball by slugging everyone? Take a hit before they can down the others to force the killer to kill their own momentum.
    • Do not underestimate the reduced grunting and no blood. Reduced grunting and no blood extends to the dying state. If the killer is stupid enough to not pick you up straight away, you’re MEANT to attempt to crawl away FIRST. If the killer comes back looking they’re going to have a more difficult time hearing where you went or see where you went (no blood trail). You can also walk away from an unhook without a blood trail. This can totally save your butt in a clutch game.
  • I wish I had a clip of it because the exact details are starting to become hazy.

I was Clown using Red Head’s Pinky Finger. I was on one of the Cold Wind maps. This was shortly after the introduction of the EGC and the ability to close the hatch.

As anyone should know, RHPF only applies exposed if a bottle achieves a direct hit on a survivor.

I had managed to kill 3 of the survivors, only a Jeff was left (un-injured), and I had found and closed the hatch. I went towards the first exit gate switch I see, but there’s a massive jungle gym directly between me and the exit gate switch, blocking my LoS. From a distance of about 30 to 25m away i lob a bottle over the jungle gym at the exit switch simply to test/check if Jeff was already at that switch.

Sure enough Jeff screams, and accidentally runs around the wrong way around the jungle gym and straight into me. What I didn’t expect was that he was insta downed.

I had managed to achieve a DIRECT HIT on Jeff with my bottle I had blind lobbed over the top of a Jungle Gym.

I was laughing hysterically, and was astonished. I was so caught up and elated by such a completely fluke play that I completely forgot to push my share button on my PS4 controller and save the clip. I was so sad when I realised my mistake after switching my PS4 off and trying to find the clip at a later date.

  • It’s implying that the survivors won’t survive the night.

So they’ll be “Dead by” the time “Daylight” arrives.

They could have the best med kit with Botany Knowledge, it’s still stupid to heal right there near the killer like that. They’re not going to successfully finish healing before the killer downs them again.

Except this Meg never took any protection hits. I watched the whole video, from start to finish. This was the first time she was even in the Killers line of sight. We aren't going to worry about it too much unless we see it happening again. It is just the weirdest thing. You expect them to go down and they just keep on trucking.

I wouldn’t put it past it being a new hack. I myself have experienced a steep rise in suspicious killer behaviour when I play survivor since mid chapter.

So I’ve seen it in game a couple times now. Some people called it as soon as the perk came out. I’ve had teammates literally miss multiple skill checks on purpose to regress a generator down to zero. Can we get this perk changed? This shouldn’t be a thing

    Record it and report it.

You also need to understand that there will be genuine beginners that genuinely panic while on gens though.

I'm currently writing a script for my next dbd video on my channel, I've seen some people mention the likes of Ted Bundy, Charles Manson etc. I'm doing different sections for this video on things people want in the game, but I can't find the reasons that people want serial killers in this game, what powers would they have? What's the reason you want these guys in the game? Is it just out of being interested in true crime or is it something else? I'm not here to judge and I will be respectful of people's opinions in said video, I would just like to have some information on this before speaking about it.

Probably the ONLY one they could probably get away with including is Jack The Ripper, only because of how long ago that was, and all the myth and conjecture surrounding who that killer may have actually been.

But even then, it’s in poor taste. This game needs to keep clear of stepping over the line from fiction into fact.

I think if you’re the last person alive and the hatch is closed, then the entity should just kill you. That way you don’t have to just lie on the floor and wait to bleed out. Similar to how the last survivor can’t struggle on the hook anymore. I don’t see why this is any different.

    Agreed.

  • @xenotimebong said:

I’m not talking about accidentally losing someone and having them bleed out, or slugging someone a couple of times and their timer naturally expiring, or survivors who crawl into a corner with no hooks on purpose. I’m talking about killers who down someone, and then stand over their downed body for several minutes until they bleed out.

Why is this acceptable to the devs? It serves absolutely no purpose except to grief someone. It’s rude, it’s toxic and it has no justification in terms of game mechanics. So why is this not bannable?

And please don’t say “well you’ll bleed out eventually”. I don’t think that’s a good justification to allow griefing behaviour. If someone has video evidence of a killer doing this, when it’s clear that they could easily hook the survivor but refuse to, I don’t see how it can possibly be justified.

I was almost certain that this kind of slugging behaviour is reportable as griefing.

I’m a heavy slugger and know not to do this. The ONLY instance I’ve been in where I’ve just stood there by their dying body is when they’re the absolute last survivor and they thought they were being clever crawling to a corner with a hook dead zone. I kind of have no choice but to leave them there and I’ve got nowhere else to go because I’ve already closed the hatch.

  • The true value of Franklins Demise is that it is a “trap” perk that shortens chase times when you think deeply enough about it.

It’s almost ALWAYS worth pretending you’re leaving the area, but doubling back to the dropped item. A lot of the time, bingo, someone is attempting to retrieve the dropped item, resulting in an easy free hit.

Plague always has bugs. She’s more buggy than nurse, and is the buggiest killer in the game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I agree with these. It mostly boils down to a philosophical issue with how the devs view survivor time vs killer time. It seems that they view them as more or less equal.

It's so much more costly for Plague to go out of her way to pick up a fountain than it is for a survivor to go out of their way to solo heal at a fountain. It actually costs the survivors nothing many times, because at least two survivors would be occupied healing against another killer. But against Plague, it's one survivor healing on a fountain in less time than a normal heal.

Plague has a glaring issue with game speed. The nature of her power takes away the natural stalling of heals, and fountains only occupy one survivor for less time than a normal heal. On top of that, Corrupt Purge is usually not powerful enough to make up the difference. She's a killer that gives every survivor a medkit if she uses her power, and she's not guaranteed a viable reward.

I hate to say it, but she's just really poorly designed.

The core concept is fantastic. The execution is disappointing.

  • The two ideas I like here are that, yes, some adjustments to the velocity of her power needs to be adjusted now that ping to dedicated servers has handicapped her immensely.

I also like the idea of reduced TR. I was thinking instead though if there were a stage 2 sickness where the survivor is also now permanently afflicted with Oblivious until cleansed.

@Boss i’m actually ok with her height, thus her visibility. It’s necessary for the sake of balance when she does carry CP. Her visibility is only an issue when survivors refuse to cleanse, and has nothing to help at loops, and the occasional bug that gets her stuck in doorways, staircases, or anything else hanging low enough.

The dc penalties aren't doing anything right now. I played as hag yesterday for the first time in a while, only played 3 matches and had a combined total of 7 rage quits. If someone is really not having a good time, a little 5 minute slap on the wrist isn't gonna stop them from disconnecting.

Possibly because like me, they’re sick of BS and switch the game off anyway.

  • @Ryan51090 said:

I honestly don't mind doing generators but that could because I also do try and avoid being chased by the killer because I'm not very good at losing them very often. Although, I do play with a setup on a character that gets generators done fairly quick.

Me exactly. Despite the years I’ve played this I’m still terrible at chases. I play stealthy and do all I can to avoid the killers attention unless they’re tunnelling someone else and need help.

Otherwise I’d MUCH rather do gens than be in a chase.

  • @MissKitty95 said:

Hi question for everyone do you play solo survivor or with friends ? If so how many? I’m curious, from the forums it looks like people think eveyone plays swf but I simply don’t think that’s the case,

I played this game since it was released on ps4 I have played solo for majority of the game i have one friend who sometimes play and I found another while playing recently:)

    Solo.

I tend to be pretty good/pretty ok at stealth but I’ll make sure I’m still useful to the team by being on gens when appropriate.

I’m not particularly great at chases, so I focus my builds on information (usually Bond+Open Handed), or a full outright medic/altruism build (at least Botany Knowledge + Leader)

  • @OldHunterLight said:

I know this will not happen and well I wanted to be a part of "this is my theory".

So I've been thinking of horror games and well most likely this chapter will be non licensed.

    But here is my theory.

Laura from the evil within games.

Sadly this is wrong because killers are humanoids.

Although it would be cool to have Laura, Laura has WAY more pronounced claws than what was shown in the trailer.

And Laura IS human. It’s just that in the game the representation of Laura is a twisted, painful memory from Ruvik’s twisted, broken mind. I.e. it’s the only way Ruvik perceives her now.

  • You won’t get banned. Don’t worry. They’d need to supply video evidence in support of their report. Which means the devs would see you’re not cheating.

I get accused of the same thing often whenever I run Dark Devotion. So no, many players don’t read perk descriptions.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yeah, it would actually be a decent perk then. I've thought it should be "powered" instead of "opened" for ages now, because when it works it really works, it just never works because 99ing is the meta.

Also not gonna lie, totally went into this thinking of "Left Behind." Great naming convention. Zero confusion potential.

    Agreed

Yesterday I duo queued with a friend and we got put together with another duo. The match started and we all spawned together. Dwight instantly started fast vaulting the same window 3 times and then jumping into a locker a couple of times before he ran off (his friend was already far gone by that time). Me and my friend got chased the whole game long, while working on gens when either of the 2 of us weren't in chase until the very end of the match. Then right when the gates were powered the killer got Dwight as me and my friend opened the gate - we were both on death hook at this moment and decided to immediately leave cause we were like "fck em". They were hiding most of the game, didnt unhook or heal us so we left em to die.

Sadly the killer decided to bring them both to the exit gate so they could escape. In post game chat the 2 antimates really had the balls to complain about me and my friend leaving them to die, saying suff like "it's just a game", "we were just having fun" etc. Even the killer defending the Dwight when I explained why we left and said "he probably didn't knew or it was just an accident" like sure they didn't - in RED ranks.

I really don't mind sacrificing myself for team mates if they play like an actual team but people like those two I will just leave behind, sorry (not sorry).

I hate crap like this too

  • @Boss said:

In Dark Souls, if you invade someone's game as an enemy (a.k.a. you start to PvP), some of the enemies in the area could be blocking your way.

The game allows the invader to pass through enemies after a few seconds of walking against them.

We could really make use of that in this game: After a second or 5 of continuous pushing against a fellow Survivor allows you to pass through their collision, and only their collision.

Once you're out of their collision, it's turned off again.

    There needs to be something.

If eating a DC penalty, or turning the game off is preferable to:

    • recording the match.
    • Editing the clip.
    • Uploading it to YT.
    • Going to DBD website.
    • Filling in a report.
    • Providing a link to the clip.

    Then that’s a problem.

  • @miachan22 said:

Yes, some players are just dicks. Had a Kate bodyblock me until the killer found us (had 3 crows already). In the after game chat, he said it was because I had ruined him looping the killer in the shack... but I just had passed running nearby the shack. Also had a match against an afk killer, when I was opening the gate, the other 3 surrounded me and we all died in the egc.

    I’m just tired of it.

No amount of MM locked is going to stop me from leaving when it doesn’t effect me anyway because this behaviour just causes me to stop playing.

  • @HagIsBestGirl said:

This is like being mad your perfectly good ferrari doesn't become a super ferrari when you put new tires on...

    Ferrari?!

Lol, yeah I completely forgot how much of a “luxury” gaming experience it is to have frequent FPS drops and performance stutter.

  • This has happened to me a lot since mid chapter. Apparently it’s some sort of new hack where a player can see what everyone’s load out is, and if they’re not happy, they can trick the game into thinking someone DC before the match started so they can leave and avoid the DC penalty.

  • I personally don’t like this idea.

I like to run Aura Reading builds and like to run Vigil as a precaution against Blindness. Even though killers run Blindness rarely, it’s still very incapacitating when my entire build is Aura Reading.

To limit the amount of times I can recover from status effects, and it be tied to ONLY if I successfully escape a chase (something I’m not great at), would further handicap a player like me.

The only thing I think Vigil needs is a blanket “all negative status effects” recover 20% faster, and all positive status effects (haste and endurance) last 20% longer.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

We've had a pretty big shakeup of the killer meta recently with Ruin and Undying. They've also made certain perks like Mindbreaker way more viable which is nice. It is very obvious that the developers are terrified of shaking up the survivor meta, which is a shame. But we know how it'd go if DS was made actually anti-tunnel or Unbreakable and DS making you invincible to bad plays. There are problem perks on both sides, however. Don't want to make anyone think I'm being biased. I DO think that Undying is way too punishing to solo players, especially with the refusal to add a totem counter. It may even drive some away from the game.

The survivor meta has been the same since I started playing YEARS ago, while killers have had several major build shake ups since then. It's reached the point where as a solo survivor who plays with more unique or themed builds is getting me reported by teammates post game for not using BT or Unbreakable. Madness.

They're actively working on the latency and have even stated that Dead Hards programming is being re-written to work better with dedicated servers which is good.

I'll say what I've said before. The only reason DBD is still so successful is because every other major Assymetrical horror game that has come out has somehow had even worse design decisions made post launch.

I wouldn’t call it that much of a shake up.

It’s simply “Oh... we can make Ruin oppressive again, and punish noobs and solo again”

  • Unfortunately this is game is rife with this behaviour: survivors being trolls to other survivors.

I've wanted this change for flip flop since it came out. Would make it a hell of a lot more useful.

It’s worth noting that Flip Flop has the “No Mither” effect. Once a killer realises a survivor has it, they won’t leave them slugged again. So regardless of any buffs or changes, survivors still need to accept that they’ll effectively get one use out of the perk.

  • @TheWarNung said:

By a staggering coincidence, I was just discussing the uktimate solo Q support build. I call it the Tactical Officer:

    Bond

    Kindred

    Windows of Opportunity

    Open Handed.

The aura reading buffs you get from Open Handed are completely underrated. Open-handed + Kindred lets you see the killer's aura within 12 meters of a hooked survivor, which is busted. And with Bond you can see yhe auras of survivors on the moon.

I use this same load out quite often. WoO is often very understated. It’s hardly a beginner perk at all. Knowing exactly where it’s safe to run, and where dead zones are is invaluable.

Sometimes i’ll swap Kindred with either Visionary or Vigil.

Visionary because as experienced as I am, getting a map like Midwich, Lery’s, or Hawkins, when being down to the last 3 gens sometimes they can be a total pain to find.

Vigil because as rare as it is for a killer to use Blindness add ons, when I DO come across it, it’s very incapacitating when my whole load out is aura reading. Bonus if team mates nearby with exhaustion perks get helped by Vigil too.

  • @Raz_ said:

    BOND is godlike for soloQ.

you get a lot of informations, especially when you can run a killer for a long time to not disturb people on gens. i love it. there are better perks but i love that perk.

Bond + Open Handed is even more godly.

    • see anyone within 44m. See what they’re doing.
    • Gives a HUGE heads up if a chase is heading your way. This is a big deal when up against 24m TR killers, or M&A, or Undetectable.
    • Easily find a healing buddy.
    • Easily find whoever needs help.
    • Know if a chase is super far away if an injured survivor appears on the HUD but you don’t see their aura.

It’s hands down one of the best information combos in the game because it’s always consistent. I’ve once had the joy of another survivor running open handed as well meaning I could see everyone over 52m.
