Mettle of Man should be unnerfed. So many tunneling and face camping killers these days that work around anti tunnel perks. There were ways around this and other factors that have reduced its effectiveness. Not to mention that NOED cancels it out.
No.
Old MoM punished killers for simply playing the game.
Killers shouldn’t be punished for doing what they’re supposed to do in a chase: hit survivors.
The protection hit requirement was a very healthy change.

Is it possible to share a screen shot of exactly what you’re seeing. The only time gas has ever really started to hinder Clowns own vision is when more than 1 clouds overlaps another.

Why is arguably the lowest tier killers only power in fact more helpful for survivors at times, making them totally disappear from view.
The Clown doesn't have much, just this little fix.
Firstly, I want to say I am sincerely not attempting to patronise you here, but I can honestly say you’re the first person ever to bring this up as an issue.
What exactly are you experiencing? And what platform are you playing on? I’ve played Clown since the Curtain Call chapter released, and I can honestly say that the pink clouds have never hindered my ability to see a survivor.

I'm also pretty worried about DbD on Ps5. They can't even keep their current versions stable at times it would be very surprising to see DbD run better on Ps5 than it does on a high end PC. Hell, they promised 60 fps 2 years ago and almost broke Ps4 with the Mid chapter patch. I'd keep expectations low tbh.
It’s pretty crucial that they get it right, not just for PS5 but also for Xbox Series S/X, and next gen PC hardware.
It’ll be impossible to continue growing the game and entice new players too far into the future if they can’t modernise DBD.

I thought pallet stuns took less than three seconds to finish? And Killers can just cancel out the AMN animation by breaking the pallet right? Or did survivors have enough time to set them back up after a stun?
To stop it being a troll perk.
The intended purpose is to reset pallets the survivor happens to come across out of a chase.
Instead, it was used to try get killers to rage quit, because it would also be used in conjunction with flashlight blinds or head on stuns with nearby lockers.

Devs please remove barbecue and chilli perk. Killers have it today now and that perk is too strong
Oh... ok.... because getting killers to revert back to hook camping is a much better idea...
There are many ways you can ensure BBQ doesn’t reveal you.
- get in a locker as soon as someone is downed and wait for at least 4 seconds until AFTER a hook occurs.
- Run towards the downed survivor so that you can follow the killer and ensure you are within the 40m range “deadzone”.
- Use Distortion.
-
Personally, as a solo player I really really like Buckle Up. It’s saved my butt plenty of times knowing not to bother helping someone I can see isn’t bothering to recover.
The only minor change I would make to the perk is that I’d like for it to have the Kindred treatment: whoever has Buckle Up equipped tells the team their recovery progress while slugged, and they can see the killers aura when revived from dying too.
-
They’ve previously mentioned that the perk presents them a bit of a conundrum. They’re really unsure what to with the perk without making it broken or encourage camping.

Taking hits and flashlight clicking to try to get me to chase you when I know dang well there are two people on death hook and you're not one of them.
Just stop. I have an IQ over 7. I ain't gonna fall for that sh
The one I love the MOST is how often a survivor is running directly behind me when I’m carrying someone else to a hook.
Because...you know... presumably all killers play this game on mute.

As the title asks, you have a 4 second stun on a non-lethal power, while you watch survivors run away. On top of that when you slap someone it takes away from your power meter.
To me the 4 second stun is absolutely horrendous to play with on a power that does so little. Plus deep wounds is a joke of a status effect, and their entire power is based around it.
As compared to blight who only suffers a 2.5 second stun on a power that can actually down survivors.
Anyone else feel this way?
You feel punished getting a handful of survivors wasting time mending, leaving them unable to assist the last survivor you’re targeting to down and hook?!
-
It’s just culturally ingrained into this game now, and it irritates me too.
Some are getting a drink/snack, some are having a toilet, some are just wasting time chatting in their SWF for a last second survivor swap or item swap.

Until dawn was a lot of fun. I ought to replay it sometime.
It’s very intelligently done.
One of few horror comedies that succeeds at being both funny and genuinely scary.
It’s LOADED with horror cliches and stereotypes, but it’s self aware of these and at just how ridiculous these cliches and stereotypes are.
It’s a mish mash of things that shouldn’t make sense in one horror experience, but the clever writing MAKES it make sense.

Do PS4 games definitely require a patch to benefit from the ps5 boost mode?
Hmm I’m not 100% certain. It’s just so far implied that the PS4 games that are performing dramatically better on PS5 have also been games that specifically got updates to take advantage of PS5 features and improved performance.
Testing Until Dawn on PS5 will also be another interesting one. As brilliant as that game is, the FPS left a LOT to be desired.

Ok found it. Watch this video, pretty sure he explains what the modder had to do and how he did it to make bloodborne run at 60fps. For bloodborne the issue was alot harder to deal with due to it being tied to game speed. Watch it, trust me dbd may have problems, but the problems arent at all the same as bloodbornes. Probably a good thing Boost Mode doesnt work on ps5 bloodborne...otherwise everything would look silly at x2 speed. Theyd need to specifically work on a remaster or patch to get 60fps on it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jA7sJc4akA&feature=youtu.be
Ahhh ok I gotcha. So if the frame rate had just been simply increased to 60fps, it would have also doubled the game run speed, looking strange and silly.

Regarding Bloodborne - there are rumours that there will be a Remaster on PS5 and even PC. So it might entirely be possible that they did not work on the PS4-Version for PS5, when they want to bring a Remastered Version.
So DBD-performance might still be better on Next Gen Consoles.
Oh I’m not concerned about Bloodborne’s performance. It’s still a brilliant game even by today’s standards.
It just highlights that PS5’s Boost Mode isn’t “automatic”. PS4 games require a patch specifically to utilise it. Something I don’t see happening for DBD PS4 Version with a PS5 version however many months away that is.

@MadLordJack said:
Don't get your hopes up. It's not a hardware issue, it's a game issue. When I upgraded my PC, my frame rate issues lessened, but the horrible choking stutter most certainly did not go away. The game's prettier, sure, but there's no performance difference between low and ultra.
I can only move my hopes over to whenever the next gen versions release sometime 2021.
Fingers crossed they’ve rebuilt some things from the ground up, rather than “glossed things up”.
I think it’ll be the last straw for many players if the next gen upgrade for consoles and PC still has performance issues.
This game doesn’t need to look amazing. It just needs to perform better.
-
@RoboMojo said:
I'm not really that surprised. The difference between console generations is less significant now. Yeah PS5 IS an improvement over PS4, but from what I've seen it's not as significant as previous generations. If someone showed me gameplay of a PS5 game without any prior context and told me it was ps4 then I would probably believe them, lol.
It was more the promise of PS5’s Boost Mode for PS4 games. It was implied that it would work universally for all PS4 games that are BC on PS5. But it now turns out that Boost Mode is only for PS4 games specifically patched to use it.
I can’t see BHVR doing this when they’re already working on official next gen console versions of DBD. Would be a waste of their resources.

Ormond is on the list of maps getting a rework in the new Chapter and it's also the oldest outdoor realm without a second map yet... so its probably due for a second variation. Mount Ormond Resort is confirmed to be in Alberta, Canada.
Unlicensed Chapter- New Killer will be an original based on the native american legend of the Wendigo. The Survivor will likely give us Native American representation. It will feature a new map for the Ormond Realm.
Licensed Chapter- New Killer will be based on the Wendigo from Until Dawn, Hannah Washington. The new Survivor(s) will be based on Until Dawn with skins for characters from the Dark Pictures Anthology (a New Dark pictures game was released less than a month ago, which is great timing for promotion with this Chapter). It will feature a new map, Mount Blackwell, which happens to conveniently be located in Alberta, Canada and may be listed under the Ormond Realm.

The thing is, the odds are stacking against it being licenced. When a teaser, or a full trailer, has a licensed character in it they are legally required to put trademarks at the end of the video. This teaser had none. They've moved away from giving licensed killers teasers recently, the last one to get one was Pig, and only giving them full on Trailers. It's probably something to do with licensing issues, or something. Multiple sources have claimed it's gonna be original, and there's the tried and true fact that Sony doesn't like sharing their toys. It was legal hell to get Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, I imagine it'd be way harder to get a character from Until Dawn in another game, let alone a game on PC and X-Box.
Silent Hill is a far older game, and Konami is probably going to release a new Silent Hill game soon, so that explains the Silent Hill chapter fairly well, and Bill wasn't on PS4 for a long time. I think it'll probably be a Wendigo, or something similar, just not... The Until Dawn Wendigo. Until Dawn didn't invent Wendigo. I'm just a bit worried that people will hype this up, then be disappointed when it's not what they wanted. I don't think that's fair to BHVR, who have made no signs to this being Until Dawn. Normally, when they have a license, they're pretty obvious about it.
You never know... BHVR May have been smart about some of the caveats of having DBD as part of PS+ some time ago. One of those caveats being that they wanted Sony to be open to licensing IP for DBD.
Chapter 18 will be the very first chapter since the release of PS5. And PS+ Collection on PS5 will introduce a host of new players to Until Dawn that never got a chance to play it on PS4.
It could very well make a good marketing ploy to have an Until Dawn chapter, have it get player base from Xbox, PC, and Switch curious about the game, and get them to purchase a PS5 and PS+ for all the free games they can finally try that they never did before hand.
Of course i’m really reaching here.
But it’s always fun to throw theories around when a new DBD teaser drops.

They are remastering Ormond. Ormond has a setting extremely similar to that of Until Dawn. Blackwood Mountain is Until Dawn's fictional mountain set in Alberta, Canada. Ormond is coincidentally also set in Alberta, Canada.
"Our past can sometimes be a burden" the burden of accidentally killing Hannah and Beth just to make a cruel joke, and thus now Hannah and Beth coming to kill the other characters.
"...that drives us to the most dangerous places in search of answers and hope..." signifying the new danger due to The Wendigo now lurking in the forested mountains. Samantha "Sam" Giddings, one of the characters in Until Dawn was seen in the beginning of the game listening to a podcast about the killing of Hannah and Beth up in Blackwood Mountain. Sam would be the most inquisitive and the most in search of answers. Remember that Sam was Hannah's best friend.
cutting to the actual teaser video, you can see a forested, snowy area. Perhaps thematically the trees in the distance* are all visually black? Regardless, when the "killer" pops up in the teaser, it is quite noticeably low profile, the lowest profile of all killers currently in the game. What also has an extremely low profile that is also in Until Dawn? The Wendigo. Notice the length and color of the arm and the distinct lack of a weapon in this image compared to the teaser, as well as the feminine growl/screeching.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YARE0OFSG7PY/wendigo.jpg
Notice the timing of the chapter as well, this would be the winter chapter just as Darkness Among Us was also a winter chapter.
Hopefully this wasn't too lengthy of a read, I just had fun discussing the theory with my closest friends and regardless of what it turns out to be I can't wait to play it in the near future!

Yep, if the killer is not hooking them and not letting them bleed out either then it could be considered as holding the game hostage, and it's a bannable offense.
It’s not holding the game hostage, as the survivor will eventually bleed out, but it is a type of griefing due to the intentional nature of extending out the bleed out timer for as long as possible.

I remember the abuseable ones as 2/3 of the cast: DS, (OoO can still be a problem in many scenarios), Dying Light (would be cool if it was a speed reduction for survivors not near the Obsession, encouraging the killer to chase the Obsession away from objectives repeatedly), and STBFL (because of the Unrelenting combination with it).
I enjoyed the mechanic more when it wasn't nearly as muddled and somewhat meaningless as it is now, and I wish the devs would work on finding ways to give that uniqueness back.
I’d like to see more killer Obsession perks that give a meaningful/usable benefit for specifically targeting the Obsession yet encourages the killer to keep the Obsession alive to deter outright un fun tunnelling. Anything that makes the survivors use an Obsession perk (such as DS) a more considered and more risky.
Dark Devotion is a decent example. It’s always worth switching targets any time the Obsession is spotted and frequently hassle them (or slug them) for the advantage it gives the killer against the other survivors. But the killer is highly encouraged to kill the a Obsession absolutely last to maximise the benefits the perk provides

Op, Rancor is a tracking perk. It shows everyone's location when a gen pops. So there's that..
If you had read more I made it quite clear that a gen hadn’t popped, not even recently. This spirit was dominating and knowing exactly where everyone was after every single hook.

I have seen this sort of thing a few times, though I mostly (or MOISTLY perhaps) see it on Freddy. Had a Freddy with NO tracking perks that absolutely devastated my team, whom made a point to split up and lead them mid-map during a chase to ensure he wouldn't run into others. Despite that, he always b-lined from the hook to the next Survivor. ZERO breathing room against him. I'm more of a Killer main, so at the end, I was completely caught off guard when I saw nothing to assist tracking.
For everyone else, ClownIsKing is a VERY reputable person. He's the kind of guy that will exhaust every reasonable explanation before considering shenanigans. As such, I wouldn't take his issue here lightly.
Thanks a lot for the vote of confidence there.
It really does mean a lot.
And I sure do. I pride myself on both having a very deep understanding of the game but keep open minded that there is always new things to learn.
I look at all game aspects logically, broadly, and even quite abstract in a lot of ways (my view that Coulrophobia can be an area control perk for example. You either “get it” or don’t get what I mean at all). I exhausted all reasonable possible explanations for these killer’s successes, and if were just a random once in a while thing I would just concede it to very bad luck. But this has happened frequently enough for almost the past fortnight to be coincidence.
And later this same evening after adjusting this post to explain the Freddy incident, had a Freddy use a Midwich offering and also always immediately knew where everyone was after every hook. It was the same Russian on Australian servers again, and again no BBQ or anything else in their loadout to explain how they’re were instantly heading to the exact location of other hidden survivors.

What wasted time? It's almost never going to work, so who cares about the tiny percentage of the time it actually does. You may as well pretend you unhooked them slightly more efficiently than pretend they 100% knew they were yeeting themselves into your smouldering face.
Totally fair point.
Slightly off topic, I wish more information was shared globally about a survivors chance to self unhook.
For example, I love the Slippery Meat, Up The Ante, Luck Offering combo. Other survivors should see the Up The Ante icon and KNOW what I’m doing. Do gens. Why are you running to my hook. If I’m unlucky and get to second stage, so be it.
And what ever happened to luck icon that would tell survivors they have an increased chance to unhook them selves?!
I get annoyed (just a little) when I’ve run the above combo and the luck offering is salty lips, meaning anyone else on the hook has a 16% chance to unhook themselves, but they’re not even trying at least once to unhook themselves, and others are racing off gens to do a save.
If the luck icon were present it would remind survivors on hook “oh yeah, I’ve got a much better chance of doing this myself”
-
@indieeden7 said:
I don't see why people actually get annoyed by this. Oh no, you missed out on 1500 points and the person on the hook got them instead, big woop, get over yourself.
Personally I don’t think about the points, I think about the fact that it would have been more efficient to stay on gens if that survivor was able to successfully unhook themselves.
So all they’ve done is wasted the time of whoever came to unhook them.

But yeah I'm assuming it became a thing when Micheal and Laurie came out, I was just never entirely sure what its purpose was in matches with no obsession perks, yeah there's more bp if you die or survive, but does it make you or the killer do anything different than they would in a normal match?
I'm most likely reading into this WAAAY to much, but playing the game for a year and a half I never really knew (or at least unsure) if I should be worried about being the obsession or not
It was introduced into the game with the Halloween chapter because thematically Myers IS in fact obsessed with Laurie.
It was meant to borne a greater dynamic between killer and survivor, with a weird symbiotic yet also risky/dangerous relationship.
However since then it was noticed how some of the original Obsession mechanics could be highly abused or just plain un-fun for survivor, mostly by killer when THEY were running certain Obsession perks. So it’s since evolved to be a bit more murky, and gives the killer far less power and information than it previously did.

My biggest issue with the Until Dawn comparisons is the whole "It has pale skin and claws" and the noise it made, but it's not like those are unique to Until Dawn. There are plenty of monsters that fit the very quick, pale skin and clawed figure. SCP-096 for example. The noises are somewhat similar, but not entirely - and I don't think noise in general is a fair deduction. If Until Dawn wasn't a PlayStation exclusive, or if Sony ported it onto PC I'd probably agree with that statement, but there has been nothing about Until Dawn other then some PSVR games. Besides,it seems a huge amount of people are tying the Wendigo ONLY to Until Dawn. Until Dawn didn't invent Wendigo's, they're a folklore creature.
Correct, BHVR could include a wendigo and it have nothing to do with Until Dawn.
It’s also worth noting that Until Dawn’s wendigo’s are quite elongated, almost emaciated looking. Whereas this arm looks “healthy” for lack of a better term.

That would be nice.
