On the topic of bugged, is wiggling bugged for anyone else?
Ever since the hotfix it feels like everyone has Boil Over. If you even slightly approach an object as killer you get stuck. This never happened before the hotfix and now out of nowhere its started happening in a few games.
Yeah it feels like every survivor is running Boil Over & Tenacity.

Only works with basic attacks since 4.1.0. I guess that's the reason you could see someone with Empathy.
No, I couldn’t see them

It also doing nowhere near as good as dbd.
Please don’t mistake my post as me not liking DBD. This is just my observation that most of the games problems (perceived or genuine) for both sides can be rooted in the hook system.
I get that DBD needs to differentiate itself from other asymmetrical multiplayer games. Can it do this whilst getting rid of the hooks? I’d like to hope so.

This sounds like an error in the way your switch account was set up. Best you contact Nintendo to ask why it keeps directing you to the UK eShop.

trying to let people know that self care isn't actually a good perk.
Self Care is fine. The mistake players make is not using it with a medkit. Self Care is supposed to be back up when unable to find a teammmate, or ran out of med kit charges. It’s not meant to be a primary way of healing.

I think the best maps for Visionary are the ones that have chokes in the middle and most of the gens on either side. Suffocation Pit, Azarov's Resting Place and Sanctum of Wrath.
Knowing the distribution of those gens is crazy important because finishing one side too early in the match can be devastating.
This is why I like running Open Handed + Visionary + Bond. I could be on a gen that I thought would help create division amongst the remaining gens, only for my perks to highlight that survivors are working on a nearby gen, and if I were to pop my current gen I’d be contributing to a 3 gen. So I can now instead quickly find a different gen.

I'm really struggling with Blight TBH. Due to poor steering while dashing, seems too easy for survivors to dodge. I'd happy have to slam twice before a lethal dash or have a shorter dash distance, in exchange for more navigable control over the dash.
His power does not really lend itself to more claustrophobic levels like the hospital or the stranger things lab.
Practice may make perfect though,
This can be frustrating, but the trick is to anticipate the dodge and NOT attack, but instead slam and rush again in an attempt to catch them off guard while they’re (potentially) disorientated from all the camera spin while dodging and keeping track of you.

Idk why people keep saying his perks are garbage. Visionary is good for new players, and a good perk to prevent yourself from being three gen'd. Desperate measures is an amazing anti slug build, that has amazing synergy with other perks like borrowed time, botany and resilience. Built to last is the best item perk in the game, and is always fun to play around with. I love these perks.
Exactly. Like I said about Visionary, it doesn’t matter how experienced a survivor you are. Being able to quickly find gens, and plan which ones to repair next on Lery’s, Hawkins, Gideon, and Midwich saves HUGE amounts of time.

Personally, I think there are better perks for that Aura build than Widows of Opportunity.
Namely, Better Together so teammates can get some information from you to coordinate better. (plus its secondary effect is budget Kindred so you'll get 10 seconds of map wide aura reading when a Survivor goes down).
Or Detective's Hunch because Hexes are becoming much more common since Undying released. And knowing where chests are is always nice.
I do sometimes swap out WoO for better together or Buckle Up (usually Buckle Up), but I find WoO fairly reliable. I can be in some games where it’s saved my life because it got me turning around from heading to seemingly safe structures due to seeing that all the pallets are no longer there.

He definitely can't flick, nor can he turn very well. The FPS just piles on.
Regardless, it has been a long time since I've seen a Console Oni, which is a shame, since I actually like him and his design.
As survivor too it’s thrilling and anxiety inducing hearing Oni’s TR music, and that mighty map wide roar. So it’s a shame so few Oni players exist on PS4

I played her for the first time a while back on PS4 and I kept noticing The Purge going through survivors that I knew for a fact that I hit. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this.
Maybe the hit validation server has improved this.
It’s gotten worse since dedicated servers went live.

Because survivors on the ptb before she was released cried that she was to oppressive and that there was little to no counterplay once she was behind you so leave it to the developers to nerf her (regarding why she has the slowdown)

Nerfing a killer because you can't play around her is honestly the dumbest thing i've ever seen on the forums just being honest while we are at it do you want the exit gates to spawn open for you as well?
Clowns power doesn’t directly injure survivors, whereas Plagues does, either by removing a health state with VP or directly injured them via CP.
-
Yeah I definitely have played her significantly less since dedicated servers. I absolutely loved her upon release, and mained her exclusively for a short while.
But since dedicated servers she’s very frustrating, for that exact reason you’ve given: Purge doesn’t register quite often despite seeing that it collide with the survivor

I used the spirit ultra rare add-on that gives you insane speed during phase walking at the cost of not seeing scratch marks... For the first 6 to 10 minutes of the match, scratches ONLY showed up while phase walking. Then poof, all good again.
The first match I played after bug fix patch: I hit (m1) a survivor as the Deathslinger on his own map at the gen on top of the gallows, and got stuck like Myers in the shaky locker animation. Then to top it off they finished the gen, the floor dropped out (which I was waiting for, hoping to un-glitch) and I fell about 3 feet and was stuck there...
They just updated the models for both gens and lockers, and now the cause glitches... Did they update the way scratches look or something too?
No, they haven’t.
Ever since the implementation of dedicated servers there can be an intermittent delay in scratch marks (and blood) appearing while you chase a survivor, and by the time they do appear they’re already starting to fade (same as blood trails).
It causes me to lose a lot of survivors that weren’t even trying to juke me.

You forgot about the part where it only lasts for 15 seconds and survivors get a sprint burst and killer gets a cooldown upon hitting the survivor which more than allows for the survivor to run beyond 16m.
And yet i’m getting downs from it all the same. Go figure.... this “crap” perk is ending chases faster.

Here's my rationale:
If DS is in play, the killer cannot afford to let it activate in the end-game, because that's just a guaranteed escape. Therefore, the killer must force DS to activate earlier, and the only way to do that is to pick up a survivor within 60 seconds of them being unhooked.
What do you think? Does DS cause more "tunneling"*?
*For the sake of this discussion, assume "tunneling" means that a survivor was picked up by the killer within 60 seconds of said survivor being unhooked.
EDIT: And no, I'm not saying that "tunneling" would go away if DS were removed. I'm saying what I actually wrote, don't try to extrapolate or assume anything else.
This is exactly how I approach matches.
Seeing that Obsession symbol when I’m not running Obsession perks immediately gets me semi-tunnelling as early as possible because I want to ensure DS is eliminated from all 4 survivors.
Whereas when their is NO Obsession, I chill a bit and ignore survivors fresh off a hook (other than smacking them to proc BT DW so they have to waste time mending).

Are you really comparing slam to a cloaked Wraith which can't hit you until you do that slow uncloak animation and a T1 Myers that essentially needs a whole map offering and 3 perks in order to even get the full benefits of that add-on. Compound 21 us just to strong for green or Iridescent value. Maybe if they cut the reading to 8 meters instead of 16 and the time from 6 to 3 it can be classified as a purple or Iri.
It’s just that it’s only aura reading. It tells you where survivors are. Unless you can hit them it doesn’t mean anything.

There is no other aura reading addon than can proc so easily like this one. The blight always has ot bounce around, so he doesn'T even have to get out of his way to use it. And it activates everytime. He can even easily use it for searching: A worked on gen without a surv. to be seen, let me smash into the wall and use the aura. There's really not much of an effort to get the effect, with no limitations for using it and next to no counterplay for survivors, so I can totally see that it's problematic
The other killer aura addons are either not as powerful with similar rarity (Hag, Doctor), comparably powerful with higher rarity (Clown, Wraith), or considerably more powerful with (heavy) restrictions/side conditions (Myers, Pig). So I wouldn't be to surprised if the effect gets weakened somehow, be it lesser duration or range, or both.
Wait, what?!
Wraith just needs to be cloaked, and Myers only needs to be stalking to use their aura reading add ons.
They can theoretically have it switched on for 100% of the match.

The amount of free info you get from this addon is insane.
16m aura reading for 6 seconds whenever you slam into someting + using anything to counter the aura reading (using certain perks or hiding in the locker) is useless because the scoring event will still tell you when someone is around, even if you can't see any auras.
This addon is pretty much like having a waaaaay much better I'm All Ears without a cooldown. It really isn't ok in it's current form.
But Myers has 16m and 32m aura reading range.
Heck there are even perks any killer can equip for aura reading.

This is a serious question because I've seen a lot of survivors complaining about this in post game chat. Just now I had a survivor say "wow, another bbq on a red rank killer. keep relying on your crutches." Like??? To my knowledge, BBQ has multiple counters (distortion, lockers, hiding behind gen auras) so what's the big deal? There are way worse survivor perks that a lot of killers have to deal with, and most of those aren't even counterable. Someone please explain!!
In all seriousness though just ignore that kind of stuff in chat/messages.
BBQ is such a common perk that survivors should play every game expecting it, and counter it accordingly until they’re confident the killer definitely doesn’t have the perk on.
Mechanically all the perk does is tell the killer where to go next. Survivors being revealed by BBQ are usually just lazy rather than out positioned from a locker or the 40m “safe zone”

Survivors don’t want you to camp the hook.
Survivors also don’t want you to have an incentive to leave the hook for a new chase.
Survivors also complain that repairing gens is boring, and the only fun part is getting chased.

It’s absurd how many people read the word “average” and equate that to “expected outcome of 100% of all matches”.

Why exactly is this considered OP?
Many killers have aura reading add ons, and none of those are considered OP.
Blight still needs to hit the revealed survivors for it to be of any use.

Because he usually regularly knows where everyone is, you’ve just gotta keep moving against a Doc without necessarily running everywhere.
Unsure if Doc is preoccupied? Then...
- Fail a skill check? Get moving.
- See an illusionary doctor? Get moving.
- Screamed? Get moving.
Drop pallets early, and never keep looping an area with vaults. Just keep moving.

I wish I could´ve seen the "OH SHOOT" expression on their faces when they realised what was going on xD
Particularly where they run upstairs and there’s usually a very safe pallet on the left. Also getting a hit on someone in the bathroom turns that hallway along the basement with the 2 god pallets into a death sentence.

what do you think?
It sure can.
Just the other day in the supermarket I managed to grab the last loaf of Country Split White Bread off a shelf that an 80 year old lady was also reaching for.
She went to snatch it from me but I managed to 360 her. I then managed to loop her up and down aisle 6 and 7 three times while she chased me with her trolley. There was even a pallet sitting up alongside ground coffee tins.
I was apprehended by security after I broke her hip with a pallet stun.
Good times.

I really feel that the pallet should remain blocked until the hex is broken. After all it's a hex totem. It should be strong. And the longer you use it the more urgent it should be to find and remove it. I feel like there's no urgency to remove the hex, they'll get rid of it if they come across it but that's mostly for the extra blood points.
There absolutely is urgency to find this hex as survivor. They’ve only got to have 1 or 2 survivors go down prematurely in a chase because of a pallet that they couldn’t drop, and they most definitely go go looking for it so that future chases can be safer.
-
@Zeus said:
Why even give the perk a cooldown when it's a hex??
Do you also play survivor?
Does having pallets blocked more frequently than every 40 seconds sound balanced to you?
-
It is a good combo. Just realise that it’s only going to work occasionally, and when you DO get it to work, then that killer will probably never leave you slugged again.
But sometimes all you need it to do is save you once, and that’s it.

Hag. Her counterplay feels so unengaging to me, and her camping potential is gigantic. If she gets a hook in the basement it's often gg.
I second this. Hag is despicable. Her hook camping game by proxy, particularly the basement is awful. Anyone is pretty much dead first hook. And her counters are absurdly unbalanced. One is just simply not fun, and doesn’t actually help a great deal: crouching. And the other one is far too overpowered and simply unfair to Hag players: flashlights.
I despise Hag so much. They’re always scummy, and make the game miserable.

Still learning Blight, but he is definitely fun with the right mindset.
Some Killers really need to lean into mindgames and bait out a bad play. Blight is on the entire opposite end. He feels like he works best when you frantically chase like a maniac and brutally mow people down. There is still a little bit of nuance to try and coax them away from certain tiles which can be a pain to work around, but if you cut them off and make that tile a death sentence... it's still a death sentence.
For those that are having issues with his Lethal Rush, not only should you predict where they are going, but also remember the wind up time, their movement, and the speed you are going. His lunge works better when you set it off a LITTLE earlier than what feels normal. His travel speed factors in and you should land nearly on them. Also keep in mind he has a VERY generous hit radius around him.
Right now, his biggest issue is his camera. Being so short makes seeing scratch marks harder. Freshly cut grass almost looks like corn for him, and corn looks like a forest. That also makes it much easier to lose Survivors in dense foliage, so you need to keep an eye out for the odd color or movement.
Before Blight came out, I said I felt he'd be better than Legion. Got some backlash for that. I still stand by that, and I think others are beginning to see the same potential I saw.
Lastly, good or not, Blight is hilarious. Watching him hook and then face plant off walls made me nearly die in a Struggle phase because I was laughing too much. He's a good boy.
Yeah the FoV is the only issue I have. I can quite literally lose people I’ve downed in grass because of the limited angle I can look down while searching for them.

Predict, don't react. Lead the hit. It's like playing a ranged killer - you don't aim where they are at, you aim where they are going to be.
In fact this is one of the reasons I did a post praising the slam duration add ons. Until it’s learned how to “snap decision” on predicting where the survivor is going, and where best to rush/slam to next, the slam duration add ons help give more time to assess what’s happening/where the survivor is going, and think about the terrain.
They’re a great learning tool until naturally getting faster at that thought process and reaction process.

I really want to like Blight, I really do, but he just feels so clunky on console and I feel like there is no situation where I'm ever able to hit Lethal Rush unless the survivor is just running forward cause they can turn and react to it so easily. Please bestow upon me your knowledge of how to play Blight on console, cause I really wanna main him :(
I think (still figuring it out) is to anticipate that they will attempt a dodge, so go for an additional rush while they’re (hopefully) a little disorientated from spinning their camera and sidestepping a lot.
That said, at loops I just loop normally. I use rush between tiles to catch them out on their attempts to reach the next tile.

Yes you should react quickly, but i’d guess there are players like me that were being too quick because they’re too focused on making sure they don’t miss the chain window and go into cooldown.
Slam duration taught me how to relax and properly reposition and look where I want to go next. I don’t need them anymore already, but they were a huge help in letting go of the panic reflex of just immediately going into another slam just for the sake of it without proper intention.

That's the thing: his power actually isn't that easy to dodge. Unless they have something to run behind, it's more on you to miss than it is on them to avoid you. People rarely change tactic, so if they dodge your power once, that's going to be how they always do it. They fake left and go right? Just go right when the fake left. They 360? That doesn't actually work, you have about 60° of leeway and a pretty big hitbox to boot.
Ive noticed the hit box is pretty damn big too. Sometimes I’m hitting survivors that aren’t even in my field of view anymore.

They do have a counter play most of the time, though - run away after you get hit. In the time it takes the killer to recover from being stunned the survivor can run farther than the 16 meter range of the perk. Even if you're out in the open if you simply hold W and run straight to a different area the perk will have no effect on you as a survivor. Also it has a cooldown, so it's not even impacting every hit, only one hit per 40 seconds.
Again, I'm not saying the perk is literally useless, the effect is ok. I just don't think it's Hex worthy as it stands, blocking a pallet is nice but between its very limited range and its cooldown it's just not good enough as a Hex that can also be destroyed.
Exactly. So if a hit occurs at between tiles, the survivor has no choice but to keep running. Looping the closest tile is suicide. However their odds aren’t much better attempting to run to a further tile either. They’re probably still going to have the killer catch up and hit them before they can reach a pallet or vault.
