  • I assume the most people just like to have fun and there is a ton that really takes out the fun for killers.

I don't speak here from success.

I had a long time main a killer with the second lowest killrate (success) in dbd until they changed him. Now the killrate is better and kills are easier to made with him, but the fun...

The argument that killers had it harder in the past is imo not important, because the people still like to have fun and it is a valid argument since survivors have make it to one against killers (aka. then we can use it also).

I also think that it should give more things that are hard to counter, but that will never happen. Bhvr has not dbd turn down to a game where survivors only need to hold m1 and having second changes perks for everything, just to release then a killer that is hard to counter.

This part won't come back again, I bet.

  • Great thread. He should be made sticky. I think, many people have to all times questions about the hitboxes and here they get help.

Can we please fix the issues YOUR COMMUNITY has been asking for before we pump out more and more chapters. We dont need more killers and survivors, we dont need new maps at the moment. We need balance. Game breaking bugs fixes, and something to make playing survivor more fun instead of just loop and m1. You guys do a good job at replying to community feedback and posting on the forums but why does it take 6 months to a year to fix things a MAJORITY of the community agrees with (games too fast for bothsides, survivors bored of holding m1 all game, the issues with keys). I'm sure alot of people would like a new chapter but I'm also sure alot more people would like balance and fixes that this game really needs. Post your opinions if youd like this is just a rant I needed to get out.

I also think that survivors should get more to do, but the most dbd players that write in the forums have beg for a game what dbd today is.

There are only 2 ways to give survivors more to do:

    -more objectives

-killers that fit not in the m1 category

And I don't see how ever something of that will happen by all the nerf crying.

The people have cry about game mechanics, killer and survivor abilities, perks and addons and now we have this mess. I don't see how that could be changed, without making the game harder, aka. without producing things that would lead to more nerf threads in the forums.

It's more about survivors that can still "DC" by suicide on hook. So if they hate that match, are not having fun, onto the next quickly and easily. Killers cannot.

Though, as I mentioned after I would say SWF can't really either, so really the only ones who have that option are solo survivors who honestly might need it more as an option anyways given how so many pubbie survivors play. Also it doesn't affect killer really it makes their game even easier, but it does screw over the other solo survs in that game.

I'm just mostly thinking out loud here don't take this as an argument haha, I am trying to look at this from both sides because I know how frustrating and unforgiving killer role is, but solo survivor experiences and getting trolly killers sucks too.

Without DCs maybe they will start cleaning up some of the DC reasons? I would rather that more than anything.

I am not sure if I would like to see bhvr working on the "dc reasons". But I am there a "hurted child", aka. not the best guy you can talk about with.

There would people be better that have made with bhvr a better experience as me.

Edit: Just for the info :).

Survivor main who has been abandoned by teammates more times than I can count, who has had a very good amount of killers dc too and lost who knows how many bloodpoints because of it.

This sucks. Two games in already and it's every toxic behavior that makes survivors dc. First game, a teammate dc'ed as soon as he was downed, about 30 seconds into the game. Meh, it happens. It's still possible to play the game and have fun, even if we survivors are at a huge disadvantage and ultimately don't escape. What's not fun? That killer decided to camp the next person they down, and then slug all three of us. I spent about 3:30 bleeding out on the ground, and was the last to die on my first hook. FUN AND INTERACTIVE.

Second game, a facecamping Bubba. Shocking. I saw what he was doing, knew I couldn't do anything about it, and tried to get as many gens done as possible. One teammate finally went for the save, got downed and then slugged, and then the put the first person right back on the hook. Then he facecamped the person who had the save. Two of us made it out that time.

I'd rather be in a game with a person who might dc or even in a game after a person does in fact dc than have killers gleefully play the most toxic way they can now. As for all the killers who dc, it made me laugh even though I lost out on BP. If this is how killers are playing now, I will be done after this tome. It's not about being salty, it's about being bored. I want to play the game. Facecamping and slugging is not playing the game, especially as a solo survivor.

I hope the penalty is going better for everyone else.

Third game: I was the first one downed, the killer came straight back and ignored the teammate who unhooked me to tunnel me. Decided to see what the penalty was for one DC. Five minutes, for anyone wondering. I'm done playing DBD now. I should have known the tunnel was coming. It's the toxic killer trifecta, after all.

Well... You can always play killer if you think that the gras is greener on our side.

After my experience it is not.

I have play today my first game after a long while and I had direct a team infront of me that pressed hard on gens with 1 toolbox and 2 flashlights (1 has go in with flashlight, 1x found it in a box inclusive the famous instant flashlight bug - yaaay :|).

Did you think that game was fun for me?

I could nearly do 1 chase, because I needed always to damage the gens first by the speed they were repairing with.

I can understand killers who just slug to take a bit the speed out of the game.

Currently can the game for both sides terrible. Say thanks to all the nerf crying kids for that, that couldn't stop to complain about killer strength's and killer/survivors perks.

And if you want to just move on to the next game ASAP?

I don't know how it is by you, but I have always something else to do.

I can work in the afk time in my home, I can read newspages, watch YouTube videos, chat with someone... I would not have the feeling to have lost time with it.

The only acceptable excuses for dcing are a connection lost from your isp, rl stuff, heavy bugs in the game, or problems with your system that make the game unplayable for you (like a keyboard that stops working), imo.

  • I bet its a Minotaurus and as survivor we get Hercules (Kevin Sorbo is the only one^^) for the sake of the tv serie.

He was a prisoner in his labyrinth before some greek hero has kill him (have forgotten his name).

  • I actual tryed today to play my first game since weeks in dbd again, but as I had go online - so many steam games wanted to update that it had totally sucked up my playtime^^.

Anyways, guess that safed me for getting instand flashlight blinded if this bug still exist.

Also I still wait for changes to my favorit killer, that they make him more fun to play again, but that should just be a side note here, since I would not like to hijack the topic of thread.

  • Please no. I really like Terminator 1 and 3* and to see such a powerful enemie looped would be sad :|.

There are some non-licensed killers better. No one cares if they are too weak to push a barricade by side, or to stupid to jump over a loop.

Edit: Ah and before I forget it: Terminator: Resistance - a masterpice if you can endure the one or other human that looks a bit like a south-park-animated 3d character.

  • Raging_Ryuga regulary and also sometimes Monto, if I feel as if I would need to watch tutorial videos for something, to understand it better.

  • You can bet that every Legion is in its early 20's before they entered the entity realm.

If one reads the Legion story - there happens a lot and all this can't be done in a day.

It needs months or years what I have read there in common circumstances for all those social interactions.

So there is absolutly no reason to think that Susie, or any other Legion member is underage (I see them somewhere between 19-21).

What the topic matters, so yeah... I still wait as pre patch Legion main for the Legion patch that makes them more fun to play.

Really? I genuinely can't imagine Christmas with no snow. Snow is absolutely beautiful and I love the cold. That really sucks that they cut your forests down, forests are such a beautiful part of nature.

The last real snow we had, was as I was a child. Then for a time we had snowmud. Today it is just rain.

But thats why I appreciate snow in movies and games more. So I can at least see it there^^.

Yui is Fugly though. Literally the flattest nasty face I have ever since in a game.

    -Play killer.

-Hang a Laurie on the hook.

    -Watch her screaming...

... And you know the true face of horror.

Believe me, there is every other survivor beautiful against.

TL:DR Don't say anything against Yui before you have not see the same horror's :).

  • Legion, I had bought because of them the game and enjoy them until the patch very much.

Now, not so much, but I would need to play a different killer for a very long time to reach the same playtime with him, as with the Legion, I assume.

  • Kate and Yui^^.

Still waiting for shirtless versions :D.

  • @NullEXE said:

    As a Canadian. That hurt.

I can imagine that, but we love you man :).

I love Canada because you have snow, while my region has just rain to christmas and you have so beautiful forests, while our forests got cut more and more down.

In ancient times, the romans where afraid to take a step into the forests of my country... Well on many places is not much left from it anymore:|.

And also I like to calm down from rl problems while I am playing "The long dark". Also a canadian game^^.

  • I have also thought at a time if I am just unlucky with the region I playing in, since the difference between my survivors and some of the survivors in killervideos on YouTube where so different, but I was proving wrong.

The videos I see on those YouTube channels lately remind me hard on the survivors I also face. So I don't think there is a regional difference.

Or that is just because I have always played without ruin and the most people now also play without ruin and so come in similar situations as me.

  • In the few games I have play survivor, I had face camping only see very rarly and then I had suicide on hook, so that not another survivor runs into the arms of the killer.

As killer, I have not even a handful of times facecamp and that was then, because that specific survivor had really, reaaally annoy me and well... I was the one with the knife.

Don't know how they have thought that would end -_-.

  • -Did the devs plan to spice survivor perks a bit up?

As killer I am more as bored to see in every match the same surv perks. You can't play a single match without running either into adrenaline, ds, bt, dh, or sprint burst.

I am aware that a part of the survivors always will use the strongest perks, like it is also on the killer side and so I thought hat survivors should get more stronger perks. So that we maybe see more used perks in a match.

I know that it will make a worse situation only more worse, but at least boredom would not come in and just frustration. Aka. the thing a killer is already familiar with in dbd. I know that's a sad reasoning, but I think that is all we can ask for, imo.

-Did the devs plan to reduce, or delete some of the Legion stuns?

I ask that for balance, but also for fun reasons. For a stabby slasher killer who can't really stab like a guy in frenzy would be able to do it, it is a bummer to have always in mind, that you can't play them like that.

  • @Nicholas said:

I hate running these perks but it's a prerequisite because of the tunneling & camping that happens nearly every match.

What if I tell you that some survivors play without or just random perks (they picking them random from their menu page)?

I know, we can't compare those survivors to every other survivor, but still it shows, that it is possible.

I am a newb survivor as example, but I would prefer to die a thousand times before I one time touch dh, ds, bt, or adrenaline and even in my killer games, I don't use any slow down perks or noed^^ and I am just average there in my opinion.

  • I don't know the game on xbox, but have you guys there no endgame-chat?

Everything what need to be said, can be said there. I would not join some private group with guys I hardly knew for a minute.

Just so as tip. I bet they have got your ip from there.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Was the worst thing in the game until Ghostface came along.

Just a dull, dull killer to go against. Gets a free hits that pretty much unvoidable. He just runs behind you, vaults and hits. If you dont want to stay injured then you’re holding M1 all game.

Playing him its pretty much the same. No thought as to where you put traps, aim hatchets etc you just tap m2 and then mindlessly follow the survivor to get the free hit.

    Needs a rework asap

I respect your opinion, but the free hit... Depending on the experience of a killer and his playstyle has nearly every killer a "free" hit.

As example: No matter which killer I play, - I wait with my attack until I literally run into the survivor.

The reason for that is simple: The survivor has then no chance to avoid my hit. You see - you can get with every killer a nearly 100% hit. Special abilities are absolutly not necessary for it (and so are not worth mentioning imo).

  • As a Legion main that knows the Legion before and after patch, I think he is now average if we compare him to the other killers and just thinking on efficiency.

How ever, the fun of playing the Legion lays for me somewhere by a 30% mark from 100%.

By the pre patch Legion was that different. There was the fun bursting through the 100% mark for me, while he was a really low tier killer in comparison to the other killers.

I hope that bhvr makes the Legion 1 day fun again.

Edit: What I would do to make them fun again: Well I know all things necessary for it will never come back, but... The stupid stuns could be reduced or deleted (depending about which stun we speak) and no impact of m1 attacks on frenzy would be nice.

  • Killer: Legion

Survivor: Jeff (hard followed by Kate)

  • I also dislike second changes perks, but without them would the forums be flooded now with survivors threads that cry for better perks and nerf killers (ok, even with second changes perks, they still do it, but not at the same rate imo).

I don't think there is a way back, -back to a normal gameplay without those perks in every match - and I even go so far, to wish me more of those perks - just so that we see there more variety, instead of always the same perks.

Survivors complaining at the moment that they in nearly every match see a doctor. They can be happy imo, that they don't see in every match the same perks. If the first one already bores them - by the second one they would die on boredom.

I think it's the best to accept the existince of such perks and the metas of it, because it will not be changed I assume and only going worse.

  • @Fibijean said:

It's largely to do with the nature of the game design. Because of the way survivors and killers are set up with their objectives in direct opposition to one another - both sides' goals in the match can be boiled down to "complete your objective before your opponent completes theirs" - the two are always in direct conflict, and that includes when it comes to balance. Any buff to killers will indirectly (or sometimes even directly) constitute a nerf to survivors, and vice versa. Most people don't want the game to be made harder for them, so they become resistant to change and suspicious of the other side's motives when they make balance suggestions.

It's a silly reason, but that is the reason for the conflict, although I personally agree that the hostility is completely overblown and unjustified.

For me is my fun (I know thats sounds selfish, but why should I lie - it doesn't help for a discussion) the major reason that had wake me up.

Bhvr has taken out a large potion of fun out of my favorit killer. I would have been ok with it, if they would have make a abilitie slower for X %, or Y % lesser damage, or also if they would have give survivors a special perk that would have helped them against my favorit killer (you know... like wow sometimes do it - giving another class another cc or so, so that they are not so weak against class Z), but one of those freaking reworks was too much for me.

Also one of the things that bore me the most at the moment is, that you as a killer always run in the same survivors perks. In my eyes, bhvr would not need too nerf even one of them, but then I would like to see at least more second changes perks and so on for survivors, so that hopefully more survivors choose different perks and you as a killer not always run in the same.

But that are just 2 exampels from me, why it has not always primaly to do with how strong one side is.

  • I would even be willing to help survivors with challenges, but there is one big problem for me in the room:

... I don't know the most survivor challenges and so... I usually don't do them with them.

Personally I wish killers would get a "yes", "no" and "challenges" hand sign animation, while survivors getting the same. So... on this way dump killers like me would at least check whats going on for my eyes :).

  • With survivors in the game, I had very rarley problems. So I can't write much there. Most of my endgame chats are also peacefully.

However that counts not in my opinion for the forums here and on other plattforms.

Massive Killer or Survivor complainments can lead to a massiv nerf, for things you like in dbd and ... that's what gots me in the devils cicle.

Would bhvr just make ordinary nerfs, like many maybe know them from different games, I would see the situation between killers and survivors much more relaxed in the forums.

... But I always know... If the complainments are too much, the changes will be more as hard and thats why I am on the forums how I am - whatever that for the one or other guy means.

  • Even slugging fall not under "holding a game hostage".

There was a time without egc and in those games survivor's could potentially hold a game hostage, for forever.

Had by myself 2 times the situation where a survivor tryed that by me. Luckily IronMaiden helped me both times out, because they were using lockers for hiding for me (and that for a Legion *smiles sinister*).

By face camping, tunneling and slugging ends the game at least after a while, if a killer never finds a survivor and he is not doing gens however... Then was that a real hostage situation to pre egc times.

  • I have bought dbd in a halloween edition, or how ever it was called back then.

So I got with it the normal killers + Meyers.

Bought to that I have also:

    -Legion

-and later then Clown, Freddy and Ghostface.

However, how longer I have play the game, the more and more I got concerned about bhvr's "rework" politics and I usually buy only dlcs if they are for months already out.

I am just the type of guy who likes to know what he is buying. It has nothing to do with being op, or not, in the first place.

  • Yeah, that can be 1 point. But what I really would like more to see are just different ways of killing.

In a normal match, we hook always a survivor 3 times and then he dies.

    That is repetitive.

I would like to see killers who completely forget about hooks and kill survivor differently, or maybe that killers in general would be able to kill survivors differently under different circumstances.

Maybe also with the help of the survivor perks.

As example, let us take one of the strongest survivor perks, adrenaline:

Adrenaline would not be changed for the survivor, but if a survivor wears this perk, we would be able to kill him on a different way, as an ordinary survivor.

Instead of that he would need to be hooked the third time, we would be able to cut his legs off and kill him then with a final blow, after he got 2 times hooked, as example (I don't get it anyways why we killers have always to use hooks, besides that it is easier for the devs to design the game).

The police can't handle most killers, the only ones they could try to kill with weapons are.. the Legion, the Clown, Ghostface.. and they could stun for some minutes (but not kill) are the Hillbilly, Myers, Trapper and the Huntress... No way they could even touch the others

Right... Meyers... But are Trapper and Huntress not just ordinary human beings?

Many time has pass, since I had read their storys.

Remember: In real life has the police usually the numerical and technical superiority and also better weapons and training.

  • -I would like to see every killer on the same "power-level" (-/+ 5% killrate stats).

Background of this is, to give killer players another reason for variety.

-I would like to see more indoor and town maps.

Just because I find this setting more interessting as always some forest.

-I would like to see either more stronger survivor perks, or that they weakenn the most used survivor perks.

Just for variety reasons. It is for me so boring, to see in every match the same perks, by 1 or more survivors.

-I would like to see the majority of killers buffed.

So that survivor have again fear for them, because dbd should be imo a horror game.

-I would like to see other ways of killing in the regular gameplay, as to hook someone.

Moris could mix it a bit up, but I would like to see more ways to use indivdual killer animations, as just moris.

-And I would like to see more m2 killers in the game.

Because I think, they have biggest potential to mix the gameplay up and lure other gamers into the game.

As you can see... I would like to see more variety in the game, with balance maybe as only second in mind.

  • Well, I guess new killers have more problems as just the earlie game.

Should the rumors are true and ranks will not be shown with 1 of the next patches, I bet, even more people will either leave, or join survivors.

At least now, killers can find an excusment, or a explanation why the game has run so bad, if they see the ranks of their opponents.

To have absolut no answer to that question can be for some people devastating.

  • Kate and Freddy or Spirit.

Kate because she deserves it and Freddy or Spirit... The police would not be able to track, nor to put them into a jail^^.

For the most other killers would it be bad, if they would coming back. Police would cought them fast, I assume and then they would either sit for the rest of their lives in jail, or face death - depending on the law of the country where they got caught.

  • If one thing on this discussion makes me sad, then that it is always the same as soon as someone shows a video that shows killer-problems:

The people denie it and declare it as unworthy.

Would that be a video that shows survivor problems ... I bet after page 3-4 nobody would still questionieng the video and it would be have whidly accepted.

That sounds stereo-typed, but that is just what I have saw here and have in other threads seen before this one.

  • Love:

    Legion

    Ghostface

    Trapper

    Hate:

    Nurse

    Hillbilly

    Wraith

By me more from a "playing with" perspective, since I only rarely play survivor (10% of my games or so).

  • I would laugh at those survivor's and just say "like you got carried by second changes perks, dude".

Why the hassle? The surv. of today can't bind their shoes without a perk that helps them out with it.

    Those survs were just salty.

  • @Alonzo said:

Make players play killer more. Include more xp or whatever. Right now the queue times are bad because low number of killers. Not enough killers for the number of survivors. So make it that people would like to play killer aswell.

I don't think that more bps would solve the problem.

Imo, you get them anyways already fast enough. It is hard for me to remember on my newbie time in dbd, but if I just think on what I see if I level a prestige level up, or a new killer, -then I got an idea what would be especially bad for really beginners:

-Killers start like survivors without a full perk set. I don't think, this should be changed, but we should also not forget, that this is one of the reasons why you can have a very bad time in dbd.

-The toxicity towards killers can be incredible. While I had by myself never had to cope with people that have "gone to far" in the game, we see in the forums often screenshots from it and comon, who in the world enjoys being insulted? It's obvious that some people left the game if they are getting death threads and so on.

-The swfs depip squads that love to bully killers in the low ranks and not to mention the terrible matchmaking what exist in dbd for... Well I can't even remember when it started to be as it is today.

Would the toxicity go away and the match making fair, I bet - more people would stay in dbd. But I also understand why they didn't change the mm. As crappy as it is, with a fully working mm, the waiting times would maybe increase even longer.

  • Alien and every pure ghost killer.

Would just be terrible to see them looped.

A pure ghost would just walk through a wall, or loop like it would not exist. The alien would probably just jump over it.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I really just want to know what the devs are planning to do. They've turned the game into a war zone. Killers are outright camping/Tunneling out of protest, leading to survivors now essentially being toxic and bullying the regular killers. One single update to a Perk and the game seems to have just imploded into itself and created a huge rift even worse than the usual one!

The change on one perk is for many people, I guess, not the problem.

It is just... In 1 patch is a nerf, in the next patch is a nerf, in another next patch... 1 time the bucket will be full. It is just natural.

I’m not upset at all. It is totally fine to have different opinions. Otherwise why need the forums?

Some streamers do think emotionally instead of factually. I definitely say Scott Jund made a pretty good video on why old Legion was poorly designed.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8006FDP4Iw8

This is one of the "better-negative" videos to that time.

I just think that he ignores too much the people that fit not in his narrative.

For him is the only thing he enjoys, the tradiotnal chase between a killer and a survivor how we all know it from dbd.

There have been people that have enjoy the chase with the old Legion, if the Legion was not exploiting or using the op addons and also people that have enjoy playing the Legion, like as example me^^.

Don't be mad at me. As said before, his video is one of the better ones, but I personally think it is too one sided. He has some good points, but with a view on what had later hit dbd in form of the "rework", I as Legion main can just say... "Wish it had never happen" :(.

It wouldn't be counterproductive if the killer chose not to camp or tunnel. If they were actually even somewhat decent at the game, they'd have no trouble getting kills without camping or tunneling. Plus, they have many other ways of getting kills.

If the survivors chose to not do gens, that wouldn't be counterproductive. That would be neglecting their one and only objective.

    - If the killer isn't camping, one person goes for the unhook while the other two stay on their gens. There's absolutely no reason for more than one person to go for a generic save.

    - As for totems. Survivors can break them as they come across them, but they have no SENSIBLE reason to go totem hunting. Sure, it'll prevent a NOED in most games, but if they just break them as they see them, they probably won't have to worry about it anyway.

    - There's only one way survivors can do generators. It shouldn't come as a shock that they want to get it done quickly.

Because of this, there's no such thing as "genrushing" because they have one objective and one way to do it. Killers also have one objective, but they have multiple ways to do it.

Also this 'survivor rule book' thing. Sure, I'm aware it exists. In the minds of toxic people like p3 invisidettes and OchiDO fanboys. But nobody ever talks about the killer's rule book. Or more like, "Book of things that survivors should do so I can get my kills as easily as possible." It definitely exists, because of so many people talking about 'genrushing' and 'losing points for doing their only objective in the only way they can' but it's never mentioned anywhere.

I... REALLY hope this was sarcasm. Read the rest of this comment and tell me what you think afterwards.

Despite my hang for tunneling, I bet you would be pretty happy in a match with me. I usually don't facecamp, if a survivor gives me not a reason for it and I also don't use any perks or addons, that are seen by survivors as op, besides maybe MadGrit (I hate bodyblocking. Is my weakspot^^). So the killerrulebook would be happy with me, I guess.

Tunneling is just part of the game and if it not happens always on the same guy in a match, I think its ok.

I’m not condoning players DC’ing, but all this toxic behavior you speak of has always been in the game. Players have always DC’ed and BM’ed their opponent whether it be the survivor or killer. It’s just that DC’s went through the roof when Legion was dropped. It was a dark period in DBD.

We aren’t going to agree but look at it this way. Legion could stab at the air five times like an idiot and still continue to do so until it eventually hit the survivor. It took zero skill to use Legion. You couldn’t use vaults or pallets on them, they would just vault and down you with no counterplay other than as I said...hope they are bad. It’s fine if you don’t agree but that’s my stance on old Legion.

And just because streamers made complains about a killers doesn’t make them whiney. Players have the right to voice their opinion. If players never voiced their opinion we would still have five blink Nurse, Prayer Beads, vacuum pallets, old BNP, etc...if a majority of the playerbase didn’t like old Legion, why did that make them “whiney”?

Old Legion could activate their power without it being fully recharged (I believe, correct me if I am wrong), had a shorter fatigue, could stab the air and have MULTIPLE chances to hit survivors like a madman with no cooldown MULTIPLE times, a faster vault animation, and could down survivors while in Feral Frenzy. How is current Legion’s basekit better than old Legion?

The old Legion (just basekit Legion) could at a maximum hit 2 times the same survivor with dw, before frenzy was over.

3 times if you had a really potato for you (or the surv was afk). Something that not so often happens as some assume.

Every number above that is not realistic and is either exaggeration, or it had happen from a Legion with addons.

The Legion was changed a lot, but with the rework, bhvr had made Legions frenzy duration and basemovement speed longer.

While frenzy is a toothless abilitie - since it didn't kill anyone and has a ton of restricitions - the pure fact that it is longer as the old frenzy, helps the Legion a lot, if we forget the fun and just thinking on success.

You see it also on the official killrate stats. The pre patch Legion was the second worst killer. Only the Clown was worse, if I remember me correctly.

The Legion today has the.... what was it? 7, or 6 best killrate (so Legion is upper average if we just talk about stats).

Of course, you can voice your opinion, to everything, but if you do, you should stay on the facts.

I remember how I saw 1 vid, of a streamer and he said "Legion is boring to play", while he was using Legion + franks mixtape and there I need to say... That whas his own fault.

Yes the Legion was boring to play with franks mixtape - I don't doubt it for a second - but when the Legion is boring to play with mixtape... What can I do as a intelligent being with a brain attached?

Right! I could simply not use franks mixtape and voila! - not so boring anymore.

What this streamer has made, like some others, whas crying and exaggerate, for the sake of more viewers and I don't and will not respect streamers who have done that.

If they would have had a serious opinion they would have talk about the Legion's basekit, the addons and the perks, but no, no, no... that was not to be expected from them.

Just playing with either op addons, or exploits and then crying about that they are op *suprised pickachu face* - how the people today would describe it.

Edit: I hope I don't upset you with this discussion. I usually like to read your comments and often have the same opinion like you... But we are humans and so we can't have everytime the same opinion^^.

Using the “moonwalk exploit” and Frank’s Mix Tape had literally zero counterplay except hope the Legion was terrible and missed all 28 of their swings. Even base Legion had very little to no counterplay. I don’t see how old Legion had ANY counterplay other than cross your fingers the Legion was bad.

Don’t get me wrong. Legion wasn’t a good killer, but it wasn’t an enjoyable experience to have nothing to counterplay the Legion with. You felt cheated. Darn. What could I have done better? Nothing.

Again. Having a large portion of the playerbase DC against something is a very telling sign that something needs to be changed.

Players are never going to play against something they don’t like. Making DC’s bannable won’t do anything. People will either AFK or suicide on hook. You’ll never force people to play against something they don’t want to.

I do agree on the harassment and exploits though. It’s uncalled for and needs no recognition.

Look... If something happens like dcing imo, the topic shifts away from XYZ is unbalanced (as example) to this very toxic behavior.

If you ignore this - no matter which reason you have for it - you give a small percentage of toxic people the possibility to spread their vein.

And if you do it, it will not stop anymore. Then more and more people start doing it and more and more people coming up with "excuses" for it.

That is the very reason why you have to hit this guys in the beginning and you have to hit them hard.

If you don't do it, for whatever reason, a situation will develop as we have it today.

And today we have in dbd a huge amount of people that think, that their toxic behavior is ok. Just because its their nature, or they justify it with some crude viewpoints.

Bhvr has make the mistake to not act in the moment were it would have been possible, but that doesn't mean that I have to change my viewpoint about it.

If 99% of the playerbase would be toxic because of some unbalanced thing, I would not care, just to make things not even worse as they are in the moment. Instead I would listen to the 1% who is able to write threads in a forum and so on.

If you act differently, you will always have to struggle with what has dbd to struggle today and the situation today hurts dbd more as every unbalanced thing before, imo.

Btw. were Franks Mixtape and the exploits the op things, that I have not use (like other addons).

A Legion without those things had much counterplay as some tutorial videos have shown on YouTube. Why did you think, have all those whiny streamers that have complain about the Legion, always shown the Legion with those op things?

The answer is: Otherwise they would have not been able to show a op Legion.

The basekit of the Legion today is stronger as the basekit of the Legion back then. It makes less fun imo, but that doesn't change the fact that the Legion today has a stronger basekit.

I know so many players DC’ed against old Legion. When a good majority of the playerbase DC’s against something, it’s a good indication that something isn’t balanced. I hate using the term “it’s not fun or fair” but that was Legion in a nutshell. Nothing you could do in a change would change the fact that you were going to go down and you didn’t have to opportunity to counterplay it at all. At least with killers like Spirit, you have the opportunity for SOME kind of counterplay even if normally you’d die within 30 seconds.

When you get a 4 man DC and can’t have a proper game without survivors leaving it’s doesn’t just make them “entitled and whiney”. Something is seriously wrong. No other killer got as many DC’s as old Legion. The devs had to do something.

I don’t agree with the changes they made to Legion. I don’t agree with the entire design of Legion, but what’s done is done. They can still change Legion 🤷🏼‍♂️

-I have write my last posting not as a Legion main - what I am - more as an former admin of some community portals, with forums, chats and so on.

-The Legion had counterplay, as long we speak about the Legion. If we talk about the Legion with certain and I bet often used addons, then not. I know this, because I had play the Legion without addons, like I do it today also.

-I don't give toxic behavior any recognition. If someone dislikes aspects of the game, he can write in the forums, or let a bad review on the steam dbd page.

However, what you are should not do in my eyes, is exploiting, cheating, harassing other players and dcing. If one starts to do it, I am not interessted anymore in what he is thinking and I either stop doing what I am doing, or I do the one thing that will possible upset him the most.

If dbd really likes to get rid of dcing, the whole community needs imo stop to find "reasons" for toxic behavior. Especially since the devs were to weak, to ban everyone to a time where the situation whas controllable.

  • @MegMain98 said:

The DC epidemic started when old Legion was released because NOBODY wanted to face Legion, which I understand why. I gotta say Old Legion got the most overall DC’s.

Prayer Beads Spirit used to get a lot of DC’s (Spirit in general gets a lot of DC’s). Killers who slug a lot (especially Nurse and Billy). Basement Bubba, etc....

Oddly enough, I rarely get survivors who DC on the rare occasion I bring a mori. They rarely quit during the loading screen nor suicide on hook.

I would say, that would have been also the perfect time to end it.

Would bhvr in this time have punish everyone who is doing it with bans, not nearly as much would do it today.

That is at least my experience as admin in other communitys.

If you see something like this rising up, you need to deal with it fast and ruthless, or it goes out of control.

Instead, some devs still use dcing as an argument for the Legion rework, even today (and encouraging with it those dcing guys imo).

I don't feel there any pity for bhvr. It was in my eyes, there own fault, that this situation has develop as she had. The only sad part of it is, that the playerbase has to suffer under it.

I can safely say that I've never seen a comment more stupid and wrong than this one. Doing gens is the survivors' objective, they LITERALLY can't win without it, and looping is pretty much their only way to survive if they've been seen. Camping and tunneling, on the other hand, are completely unnecessary for a killer to win, it just secures one kill faster and makes them a toxic dikebag in the process.

Depends on the map, the killer and the survivor experience.

Often you are forced to tunnel someone down as killer, to slow the whole game down.

Besides that, my comment isn't stupid.

Killing is the objective of the killer. Surley he can not use face camping for it, or tunneling, but you know... Generators are the objective for survivors and no one forces you to do them in a few minutes.

It would be counterproductive, but you could stop gen-rushing.

The same is with tunneling. It is counterproductive, to not do it as a killer, but of course we could stop doing it... If we like to endanger our win, or give the survivor their win on a silver plate.

The truth is, the survivors have a rule book, thicker as ... well that wouldn't polite to say... Just let us say it is a ton thicker as the rule book for survivors.

Just because something stays in this imaginary rule book as bad behavior doesn't mean that it is not necessary sometimes for a killer.

I use tunneling on a regular basis in my matches as a slow down tool, since I had never use any slow down perks, like ruin or pop goes weasel and I don't feel bad about it.

Tunneling 1 survivor down, to give all others a reason to leave their generators to rescue that 1 survivor, gives me the possibility as a killer, to damage in this time the generators, or to catch the 1 survivor who is not running towards the hook to safe his friend.

If I would not be able to do it - for what ever reason - I would start using slow down perks and I know already yet how much survivors love to work over and over again, on the same generator, because he gots always kicked with pop goes weasel :).

(Before you read this, just know this is a rant and I, just like you, have every right to voice how I feel and my opinion. I know not every Survivor is like this and I'm not generalizing us as a whole.)

Playing DBD for as long as I've played, I have yet to receive hate mail or harassment from a Killer after a match being a Survivor main. Do I have bad games? Yes, all the time, but never do I ever feel as bad about a bad game as Survivor than I do about playing Killer.

Last week I posted a topic about messages I received from a Survivor that was upset I camped with Bubba to complete a challenge. I got over it, even though the messages were super messed up and one of the worst things you can say to a person. But then I get on my YouTube last night and realized this person and his group of friends took the time out of their lives to search up my PSN ID on YouTube and find my channel.

Not only did they dislike every video, but comments they left were so disgusting OVER ONE MATCH, ONE MATCH THAT I CAMPED ONE PERSON. The one time I actually decide, "Hey, I want to play Killer and get my challenges done even though I know I'm bad at it" I get harassed. Why do Killers proceed to get treated like garbage by the player base? How do Killer mains deal with the negativity when it comes to just doing their jobs? (which is to KILL). I've been camped, tunneled, tea bagged but Piggy/Ghostface, slapped while on the hook, ect but never have I ever went as far as messaging someone and talking trash to them or better yet, searching up their PSN ID to find them on other platforms to continues my hissy fit.

Its a game. I never knew DBD was taken this serious to the point that people will go as far as to basically cyber bully someone over a match that went wrong. This is just a rant about my experience as Killer. I don't like the way they're treated and yes I get that tunneling and camping Killers are not fun to go against because this is a video game and video games are meant to be fun, but if you're a Survivor that decides to go out of your way to bully someone because of one bad match, shame on you. You give Survivors like me a bad name & are the majority of the reason why there is a divide between the two sides.

    (END RANT)

I had not that level of toxicity as you in the game, but it started as I started to post in the steam-dbd forums.

My reaction was to set my steam profil on privat, because I had dislike the thought - and I would not be able - to play moderator of my own steam profil page 24/7.

Besides that, it doesn't bother me much. I am for countless years now in the internet and well... I don't care if someone toxic is outraged of me.

In the time he is on rage and is crying like a kid, I use my time to do something that makes fun, or work. If someone enjoys being upset about someone - let him - but don't waste your own time and energy on them.

That is imo the best advice.
