    "It's ridiculous that I can't ruin a survivor's experience without even a slight repercussion"

I get camping during end game you shouldn't lose points but dbd would lose players very fast if camping first hook with noed became the meta for ranking up as killer.

I only do it, when I feel me highly annoyed by a survivor. In this case, bps interesst me not anymore (they do it anyways not much). So the less bps are ok by me, but still... The logic behind it...

But I assume gen rushing costs also players. Imo, dbd is so big that it can have for everyone something to hate, but in the best case you find something, that you also like and what you makes keep playing the game.

  • Just no.

It's the objective of the killer, to kill the survivors. It is already ridiculous that facecamping leads to a bp loss and no, I don't usual facecamp.

To build penalties in for camping and tunneling is imo, as would bhvr build penalties for gen rushing and looping in.

Would not make much sense right?

Still... With killers they have already done it in 1 case.

  • To make their power "decent"... Well..

Frenzy could use a lower cd at the end and no impact of m1 attacks on it. Also no stun after a missing hit, but that only for fun and not balance reasons.

Making dw decent.... The only way would be imo, to revive the original version of it imo and that will never happen.

This is also in our interest. While a vital dw would make much more fun... sighs The people would start to complain again.

Sad, but true is that everything has to be today loopable and to be a m1 killer.

Behaviour would gain much much more money by making the game competitve actually.

If a game can be played at an e-sport level, thats usually where the playerbase (and money) starts to go crazy high.

For esports they would need to accept, that challenges need to be in the game and I am not sure if they are ready for it.

Also a lot of bugs would be need to be fixed.

On the other hand, guys that play dbd only for a few weeks, or months are surely not so much interested in bugfixes and balance. They have their short fun in dbd. Buy maybe some dlc's and a few skins before they uninstall the game.

Sounds not like profit, but if enough people doing this, it can be profit^^ (at least I have read about other games that have make on this way their money - mostly mobile games).

  • I can't know it, but for me it feels as would they like to make this game more casual.

I personally think that is the wrong way, but can someone really blame a companie that it likes to earn more money?

    @Talmeer

Do if hillbilly is the only killer you see these days, why do I keep seeing Clowns, Huntresses, Legions (played against 3 today), and Trappers?

I play killer too and I don’t think it’s a boring M1 game. You are entitled to think that but kinda seems pointless to say when your presence still remains here. Like could you imagine telling your friends “Yeah I quit that boring game but I still frequent the forums to post things.”

I would take it with a grain of salt at that point. Because obviously something keeps you coming back.

I mean with only killer: Killers who can be actual really strong and dominate matches were other killers would have not been aible to and are on top of that killers that really feel unique, because they are of their game mechanics.

In dbd is not every killer on the same stage of the pyramid - not surprising by the mass of killers that exist in dbd.

As we all know - some survivors hate it strongly to get challenged by them. While others enjoy it. I think both is right and for both should it give a place.

And yes, I keep coming back. Checking for possible bugfixes, balance changes and maybe if dbd starts to walk in the right direction. Really necessary for me is just at the moment a bugfix, I wait for - as also said already before.

    @DingDongs

Clearly something still keeps you here. They will make money simply because even you are still talking about the game.

Well... Depending on what you are saying, I doubt it.

The nr.1 question I get from dbd veterans that have left is: "Is dbd still that boring m1 game?".

And my answer then is: "yes".

Because it is. I will not start to lie, to the people that I know, just so that this game get some customers back.

If they like to let me say "no". They actual need to put more actions for killers and survivors in.

Of course, I know that is exactly the opposit of what the devs seems to achieve at the moment, but while parts of the it-industry seem to think that their customers are nothing more as braindead sheeps (and that is for sure in parts true), there are also people that not fit in this category.

And those people like to have challenges. They like to have interessting chases and they would like to do more as only pressing m1, to repair a gen, to heal themself and to escape.

One of my best friends was almost more annoyed about the Legion rework as I was - and I am still pretty damn annoyed from it - and he was a survivor main!

    Can you believe it?

His mainreason for being so annoyed about it, was because he has lost with the Legion rework 1 of the last true challenges, dbd had.

Today there is just Hillbilly left and maybe 1-10% of the Nurse-playerbase that could give him a change to the usal and that is for some people not enough.

  • At the moment I am not willingly away from dbd.

I had made a few weeks, or maybe even 1 month or 2 a break because of rl trouble + I was bored by certain aspects of the game.

Now I just stay away because I have heard of the flashlight bug and when I think of rejoining dbd and facing possible 4 survivors with flashlights that are maybe be aible to instant flashlight me, with all the boring stuff that is for sure still in the game, on top of that...

Then I just think... "Nah, let me better play a different game, or watch a movie".

So I check sometimes the forums if the flashlight bug is finally solved, so that I can rejoin dbd without getting a possible experience that is worse as the experiences I had made before.

I think the Nurse mains are fine, and the Nurse rework got rid of things that needed to be gone.

If you don't believe me, watch Marth88 play Nurse on Twitch or Youtube maybe.

The only people who are mad are the people who aren't that good at Nurse.

Thanks. Will give it maybe a try.

The only thing I have ever really main in dbd was the Legion. By every other thing I prefer to listen to the other mains, or also sometimes also to streamers, if they aren't toxic and their stream doesn't feel as they would just do everything for a few more watchers^^.

Hope he will not disappoint me what the last 2 points matters.

  • @Colton147 said:

Legion is a killer who is a bit toxic to the game - providing very little to no counter due to their power (think Kalista on League of Legends).

However, the best build for Legion is probably similar to my previous current build:

"Corrupt Intervention + Discordance + Dying Light + Thanatophobia"

Assuming Legion is not perk-reliant like Clown.

To pre patch times I would have blieve you... If you would have talk about the Legion+addons.

Since I play my killers usually without addons, I have seen counterplay in the past and in our time.

Besides that, imo can't a killer abilitie be toxic for a game. For some people sure. But not everyone is a clone. While I hate adrenaline as example, others love it. Same for Hillbilllys abilitie.

Some hate it, others love it. Either because they like to insta down someone, or because they like the challenge.

That said - I bet sooner or later Hillbilly will also be nerfed. Everything seems need to be a m1 killer now and that is something that makes me sad^^.

  • @AntiJelly

I wouldn't take Nurse on that list. I don't know the Nurse much besides some dailies sometimes, but the Nurse mains didn't seem to be happy about the last Nurse patch and imo, if people that spend the most time with a character are not happy about the changes, a companie - in this case - bhvr has failed.

    @Aztreonam78

Why the capslock? Won't get you anywhere.

However, I would also like to see a reduced stun, but hell... Bhvr has needed almost a year to add a little bit speed to the Legion (again). Don't think it will happen over night, even if frenzy is a toothless abilitie since the rework.

Wait wait, what?!?? the perks you listed off were DECISIVE STRIKE (the ability for a survivor to escape your grasp basically only if the killer is HOOK CAMPING -60 seconds after hook at most, practically a one time thing) . ADRENALINE (which helps survivors get away from you) . BORROWED TIME (which lets the survivor take another hit from these killers that have been gifted the speed they need to keep up with them) I mean, That’s just the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. All survivors are trying to do is survive. You’re lucky that’s all they can do and not kill the killer. Check out Friday 13th Jason getting put down (takes teamwork but can be done). KILLERS SHOULD NOT FEEL ENTITLED TO GETTING ANY KILLS AT ALL.

And that's the main reason why I never will play this game.

A game which is so terrible balanced, that even dbd looks like a shining star besides it.

Killers have already enough to struggle with the 4v1 factor. You don't need to add weapons to it, if killers getting not extremley buffed in return.

What the topic matters... Kiddos... Just ignore them, or report them, if you like.

No matter what someone thinks about the game mechanics, that is no reason to behave like this.

If the game mechanics of killers are too much for their mental health, they should maybe playing something like tetris or hello kitty online. Just so that they can come a bit down :).

Swf could be eradicated simply by not allowing friends to invite anyone. And then loading a match once all 5 players have been found, but not changing their screen to a lobby. Just go straight from searching to the loading in screen. Then the match.

This is elementary level logic. Not complicated at all.

If that ever happens, bhvr has hopefull their dc penalties ready, because then the people will dc until they are together. They can stay in contact after all via third party voice programms and immediately tell each other on which map they are, which killer and so on.

Besides... It wouldn't be nice to kill other peoples fun on this way imo. Killers and survs have already to suffer enough under the nerfs, or "reworks" how bhvr is call them.

Making the most killers stronger would be imo the only solution with that everybody can life with.

  • And how would you like to stop swfs from teaming up? Not every multiplayer game has the option to join as team in a match, but you can bet that in every game are swfs thanks to third party programms like teamspeak as example.

Also the wish to play with your friends is just natural in a multiplayer game.

Imo, killers should be balanced after swfs, since they are the possible strongest players in every multiplayer game and so also in dbd.

  • I play usually without any slow down perks.

To avoid being a "2 minutes and the gens are down victim", I tunnel usually 1 survivor down at midgame and every survivor I find with a toolbox in its hands.

To have time makes me always calm down and it also helps you maybe, @Kliah .

The background of this is, that there are no survivors around with toolboxes in their hands and the other survivors are to much bothered with rescuing, instead of gen repairing.

Killer matches can be make fun, if you are aible to slow the gens out and there is no other way imo, as to give survivor a other thing to do, like rescuing.

Oh that near black screen for 4 seconds. Unless you have Iron Will, you're still getting found. Sounds are a thing in the game and get used for tracking more than the scratch marks by some killers.

I had sound problems for some weeks in dbd. It's for sure not the fault of the survivors, but it had made it still difficult for me sometimes and then there is iron will as you said by yourself.

Besides that, of course if you are facing a more experienced killer, you're chances going low on still outplay him - even with this advantage, but that is nothing unique to the Legion (and imo, dbd is for me still a 4v1 game, not a game where a survivor always has to win in a 1v1 situation).

Every killer can catch up on a survivor in mindgame like scenarios like this, including the Legion.

The only difference is, that not every killer has to suffer under a long stun as the Legion. So... if this annoys you... You should never meet the majority of the other killers :).

    @Peanits

Depends about which people you talk. As said before - not every human being is the same. I have knew 1 survivor personally (in real life) and read many survivors in my endgame-chat that have enjoy the matches against me as Legion main (to pre patch times).

I had even make screenshots of some of the endgame chats, because of all the haters (I know the internet rule - aka "screenshot or it didn't happen").

That said, I was to no time a Legion main who had use exploits and only 1 time the op addons for testing. The majority of my matches have I play without addons, like today and such a Legion like I had play it, had always counterplay.

While some survivors are now happy, to face just another m1 killer that they can counterplay like every other killer, others have dislike it and in their eyes - dbd has lost a bit variety with it.

If you have a choice between:

    1. Not dropping and getting hit by FF
    2. Dropping early and getting hit by FF (FF vaults)
    3. Dropping late and stunning

Then you have to stun him, even thought stun is shorter.

Mhm, maybe. I am still sceptical.

The Legion gets a 4 secound stun after frenzy and his view turns almost to a black screen. That can be enough for a survivor to find a place to hide, or to move far away enough (depending on the map and the perks).

This advantage gives every survivor up, if he drops a pallet on the Legion (if the Legion is in frenzy).

Edit: I need to admit I had never face as survivor the Legion. Every time I had play survivor, I had wish to face one, but well... I am not a lucky survivor, it seems.

So I can only talk from my perspective as Legion main and say what the Data of the Legion is and what my own experience as a killer is with the Legion.

umm... that’s if you ever MAKE it to a pallet with legion sprinting at your ass. And because you don’t want to heal everyone is at 1 hit the whole game, grunting in pain if they don’t have iron will, and feeding into Thanataphobia. Also, he often hits through the pallet, getting to get off with a weaker stun because pallet stun isn’t as long AND he lands the hit anyways.

You could take advantage of the feeled 4 hour stun after frenzy from the Legion. Just be warned, a pallet drop reduced his stun, so don't drop pallets on a Legion in frenzy.

While the Legion is in frenzy, he can't really harm you, since dw is not a vital abilitie - aka. a abilitie who could potentially put you down.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

He's the most boring killer in the game.

So for a start his frenzy. He gets a free hit. The player (killer) would have to be a complete potato to miss that. In 99% of situations he's going to get a hit. He moves at 5.2m per second and can vault pallets. You run, Legion runs, you vault, Legion vaults. He gets as many free hits as he likes with very little in the way of counterplay other than trying to spin like a madman and hoping he misses or praying he falls for a locker vault.

Once hit survivors have 2 options:

    1) Stay injured which means you're against an M1 killer with instadowns all game.

    2) Heal to full health so he doesn't catch you off guard. This is where the problem comes in. Survivors hold M1 for most of the game to repair generators, with Legion if you want to heal you're now also holding M1 to heal all game too. Doesn't help that most Legions use thanataphobia and previously sloppy butcher, though thankfully he only has an add on for that now. If you use self-care it will take so long, otherwise you're either looking for totems for inner strength which will quickly run out or looking for someone else to heal you. Either way with how easily and frequently Legion can get hits if you wish to heal you're going to be doing little other than holding M1 for 90% of the game.

He's boring. By far the most boring killer in the game. Everyone wants a rework but so far....silence.

He mostly seems to be used by edgelords on reddit who have a weird obsession with him. I don't get why, he's probably the most ridiculous looking killer. That stupid mask and his weird chicken walk. Legion is a joke. A very bad joke.

    Rework please.

edit: I should comment on Plague because a lot of Legions design flaws were rectified in Plague. She gets a free hit but it's not instant. It takes time, if she wants it quick she has to actually aim and keep spraying survivors.

    Survivors now have 2 options:

    1) Stay injured all game (Like Legion)

    2) Instaheal. This is where they went right. Plague gets free injures but they also get extremely fast heals at fountains. In return Plague then gets a new and better power. There's an interesting gameplay loop there which isn't present with Legion.

That "free hit" has develop as the most new annoying feature for me as Legion main.

Survivors act always as would this something special. But still missing that:

-Unexperienced Legions/killers can still miss a hit with it.

-Experienced killers/Legions don't care about it. After a certain level of experience, imo, do the most killers no missing hits anymore. No matter the circumstances, besides maybe that they try to do a "luckhit" before a survivor reaches a pallet/window (but then they count in, that this hit could possible fail).

But then it doesn't matter anyways anymore. If the survivors reaches the pallet, or the window - so many time will pass, that every possible drawback of it, will be consumed by the time, the killer needs to catch to this survivor up again.

I would have nothing against it, if this specific feature of the Legion would go, if the empty "space" would be then filled with a lesser stun time after frenzy or so.

  • To pre patch times I had knew many survivors who had actual enjoy the Legion in the game.

I had even make screenshots of some endgame chats, because I had also meet a different group of survivors later then in the steam forums and in parts in this forum - they had really hated the Legion and maybe doing it even today.

I had a long time not care about those guys.

    Why should I?

My endgame chat as Legion main to pre patch times was either silent, friendly or even happy.

Had I just knew before how much damage those uninformed survivors would do in the forums, then I would have not blend myself from my personal endgame chat-experience.

However. Today is my endgame chat mostly silent. Then sometimes friendly and in rar cases some survivors act as would they feel guilty for challenging a crippled killer.

Even if that is true, if we compare the old with the new Legion... So it doesn't make me smile as Legion main :/.

    @FrenziedLegion

  • Thought first he would like to do a archive task.

Anyways I would have not go down there. Not for a promised million bp's :).

You know... Yesterday you have learn something important: Never go down into the basement :).

Edit: And what the topic matters... I think its ok to bring a mori into the match if he faces a 4 man toolbox group. Either that or he could go directly afk.

I used to do martial arts and we once had a knife expert visit our club. The question came up why people just don't gang up on the knife wielder so he demonstrated

3 of us vs him with a wooden knife replica. Most of the time all of us would have died. Sometimes we would be able to get rid of his knife but never before someone got stabbed

The people in that video got real lucky tbh.

But i get it. It's fun to poke fun at the weird interactions in this game : P

I have also do martial arts for mhm... 3 years or so, before I needed to left my town because of a new job. Sadly we had never such a lesson. All day just semi contact and punching a cement wall^^. Sometimes with semi fights that only go full contact, if the teacher lefts the training hall for whatever reason :).

But btt. the psychatries are full of storys where 1 guy needs 4-6 other guys to bring him down for some soothing medicaments. Besides I guess many people know also real life exempales of that. If you have often visit bars and dancing bars (especially the run down ones), you probally got your own experience with those guys. Either by yourself, or by watching.

  • Well, I think the entity weakenss the Legion because usually they would go on the hunt together, I guess.

Besides that, visit a psychiatry with criminals and you will hear storys why even single guys with a knife can be dangerous, even for multiple people.

A friend of mine works in such a psychiatry and he has tell me enough storys^^. Was 1 time near to work there by myself. Luckily I found work on a other place.

My point is I doubt you know more than them. What you propose could be very complicated to do and you write it off as "should've been done already".

Unless you know how it works, don't just have your expectations serve as the baseline on how hard it is to do changes you want.

I am not a coder. But I have experience as player of multiplayer games with more as a decade.

I can even remember the days before Steam. How we have play Halflife 1 mods there, or Starcraft: Broodwar, or Ultima Online.

Better times in my eyes, since to that time were not so many toxic people online. Maybe also because it was really expensive to that time to be online.

It is just natural that this has gave me (and others) the opportunity to observe how companies around the world have try to solve such problems and usually, they just fix bugs, exploits and so on to do just that.

If you take the arms-warrior in wow as example, - he still is be playable like on his first day. Even with the same abiliets. Sure, some things got nerfed over time by him, or even buffed, but you can still storm in your enemies.

You can still cc them and give them a slap with your two-handed sword. On the same way how arms warriors have do it for years.

They don't have make out of him a second protection warrior or something like that, but that is exactly what bhvr does, if it reworks a killer.

Also I see every rework as wrong for 2 reasons:

1- There will always be the a group of people that have enjoy the old basekit more. Old freddy as example was one of the worst killers to play with while he is today one of the best killers if we believe the stats. Still there are people out there that miss this old freddy.

Same you can say about the Legion. Besides the op addons and the exploits was the pre patch Legion pretty weak (that's why you have never saw in those shiny streamer-vids a Legion without those addons to that time). Infact, for a long time only the Clown had a worse kill rate as the pre patch Legion. Today is the Legion not top of the line, but I would say... upper average field.

Still many people miss the old basekit. That has nothing to do with stats, or winrates. It has something to do with fun.

Fun that automaticly goes away if you do a rework. Would they just have make the Legion slower, faster, dealing more or less damage, deleting an problematic addon - That would have been ok for the most people!

2- Bhvr pushes out every 3+ month a new killer. How many killers they still can push out before the feeled 3 millionth m1 killer starts to get boring for the majority of the playerbase?

Personally I think they should use those rework ideas for a new killer. Problem solved, at least for longer amount of time.

  • I would really enjoy killer who are not the typical m1 killer.

Sadly, from the actual playerbase of dbd, not many seem to have the same thought. Not a surprise, where the most killers today are m1 killers.

If someone is still open for something different, he can check this out:

    @Talmeer said:

    As first, three things out:

-Her name is not fixed but since I am pretty bad at actual finding names, I have just use this one.

-This will not be a ordinary m1 killer and it is not intended to be one.

-I will not go into perks or addons, since well... I am mostly interested into the basekit of the characters.

So now let us come finally to the killer:

I imagine this killer as a ghost-like character. She should be very hard to see besides her shady outlines. Her "walking" (better floating) speed should be same as, or maybe a bit faster as the one from the Nurse.

Besides her look, she will come with 3 things that will distinguish her from the other killers:

    1) She is be able to teleport herself into a survivor*. If she did this, she will disappear from the map and the killer-player will lose his control about her.

    2) While she is "inside" the survivor, the survivor has to do immediately a number of skill checks, like he would heal himself or repair a generator.

If he succed, the Damsel will be "throw out" of his body and the killerplayer has again control above her. However, everytime the killer player does this with one survivor, the survivor loses a bit of his "mental health" and the next time this happens again - the skill checks will be going harder for him.

If the survivor fails, the same happens like above, just that the survivor loses even more mental health and jumps direct to point 3, no matter how many mental health he has left.

    3) If a survivor loses all of his mental health, or fails at the skillchecks, the killerplayer will be able to control the survivor!

In this time the killer player need then as survivor, to hit another survivor in 15 secs or so (for the time he controls the survivor/also a knife will spawn in the hands of this survivor after he is controlled). Did he this 3 times succesfull, the survivor he has overtaken will count as "broken".

If a survivor is in the "broken" status, he will be in the same status as would he hang on a hook (so yes, the damsel has no need for hooks like we know them).

However, if a survivor is in the broken status, his icon in the gui will change and survivors can see, how he struggle with the knife in his hands, to kill himself. Also he can't move anymore.

Now has another survivor 30 secs or so, to rescue this survivor. For this, he need to walk to this survivor and do a skill check based "revive" or however we want to kall this.

In this time, the damsel can't attack the 2 interacting survivors (for balancing reasons).

    ------------------------------------------

So this is it basicly. What did you say guys?

It is a attempt from me to bring a fresh breeze into dbd. Ah and yes... The numbers and all that... The exact numbers would need to be tested on a ptb. So that the damsel is not helpless, but also not op.

Anyways, I wish everyone a great day!

*From a near distance. Thats food for the ptb.

I would have more ideas, but well... The response was pretty silent and so I tink I don't need to post even more of non-m1 killers at the moment.

  • Nice writing.

I have only one thing to say:

Even I am not really a user of moris (I have just use them 1 day in my entire dbd playtime), I would miss the animations that go along with moris.

They are a little distraction to ... you know... hooking always someone up that then dies later on the hook because of blood loss, I think.

I can't know the future of moris, but I would dislike it if also the animations would be go away with them^^.

Sometimes social, thanks to the endgame chat (I don't mean it ironic - had there some nice talks), but since the dedicated servers, the chat seem to have some problems sometimes and also is it not great that at the end of match, the rift challenge lays directly over the chat.

There are significantly less pallets than before, Killers vault faster, have access to things like spirit fury enduring, vacuums removed, guarantied fast vaults removed, etc. There has never been a better time to play killer.

From a Legion perspective... Let us please go almost a year back in time, kk? Even with a fully restored mm and so on.

You survivors crying already around if a perk gets nerfed.

Imagine someone would nerf your basekit and imagine on top of that, that this nerf would be unjustified.

And yes, as Legion main I had know from the op addons and exploits. I don't denie here anything.

Still there would have been better ways of doing this "rework". Like maybe just nerfing the op addons (you know, the addons with that those little crybabie streamers have always shown how "op" the killer with one of the worst killrates was) and fixing the damn exploits, like every other companie would have done it.

  • No, but as killer main I know that it is unnecessary and so I haven't had do it in the rar games where I was playing survivor.

I usually bully no one, if he is not super toxic - far as I know. Sometimes I am not sure, because of all the unwritten laws in the "survivor and killer rule book".

But I don't think that a killer has ever seen in me a toxic survivor.

  • Legion is my main and in winter and autumn I cosplay as Legion half the time - unwanted, because to that time their hoodies are just to comfortable (in summer I would die in them).

I just would need to buy a mask and I have also already throw an eye on a Julie mask on etsy or how ever that side was called. Even I wouldn't be able cosplay Julie as a male, but Frank should go^^.

Money! There are four times as many survivors playing so they only listen to survivors.

Even four survivors can't play a match without that 1 killer.

No matter how many skins they have bought and I believe highley if would survivors would find no matches anymore, they would also stop buying skins.

So I don't think their decision - however someone thinks about them - are only driven by money, even for sure they are in parts since they are a companie.

As far as I know the "all joining at the same time" thing is not accurate anymore. I think I read that for some months now the matchmaking works differently and first puts as many survivors together as possible before pushing them into a lobby with the killer?

Also the official statistics they released at one point showed that SWF teams are quite rare.

So I'm unsure about all these SWF statements that people keep bringing up.

That can be. I have stop playing dbd for some weeks (that are not months, but maybe something had change in this time). Not because of the ruin changes, but I was bored and I really mean bored (nothing else - no anger or whatever), to face feeled always the same survivor perks and also rl stuff had come up and whenever those "evils" combine, aka. boredom and rl stuff, it is easy for you to lay your hands down^^.

So maybe they have it made now more difficult for swfs to join a match.

Still if you ever played against a really good swf, that sticks in your brain :). Feeling totaly outplayed by everything you have tryd... That is a bad feeling.

Thank you! But the most important thing to me is that I might have influenced people to take notes too and I am looking forward to see survivor and 4-SWF lists!

Makes me almost want to make my own list, but a) that would be boring for the most people I guess, since I am a Legion main, b) I can't imagine how many time I would need to do it and c) I have now play for ... well ... I don't know how many time dbd not and that means my rank will be somewhere or right under earth :|.

I would like to come back, but always when I think, I have time now for dbd, some rl crap comes along. Dbd is cursed for me at the moment^^.

Anyways thanks that you have made this list. It is for sure interesting to read.

I can't learn anything when I tried to play normally and an army of claudettes run around my feets...

If you wanna have a safe hit on a 360 guy, turn with him.

It's not something very skillfull if a survivor did this. If he reaches 90 on the left or right side (depending where he starts) you can almost everytime hit them with a fast hit.

If a survivor does a 360 or not, you see almost always already before, because many of those guys start doing it already before you try to hit them the first time.

Also it is a good tip to only hit a survivor if you already run into him, or you know that you will definitely hit him with bloodlust.

Try to avoid, to hit them to soon, because then you are often still too far away, or you give them too many time to react on your attack.

  • Legion, because... well... I spent the majority of my dbd time playing them.

Also with Ghostface I start getting good and I think, I am an ok Trapper and Meyers.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You dont fear things after a few hundred hours of playing. You can play the scariest Horrorgame for the first time and ######### your pants and if you play it the 5th time, you will not get scared. I like Amnesia as an example - The Dark Descent was pretty scary (we dont talk about A Machine for Pigs, this did never exist). But once you played the game for a couple of times, you only try to bug the Monsters instead of getting scared.

Even tho, there are some Jumpscare Moments in DBD, mostly because of Stealth Killers or old Prayer Beads (which was the one thing why this Add On was kinda good, even tho it was broken balance-wise).

But in general, you are not scared of a game when playing it for a long(er) time.

I had fear the Zombie Master in... well... the Mod Zombie Master and also the Zombie King in the pre mod to Contagoin (name forgotten of that mod, it was something with "Zombie...") and in Contagoin itself.

... And I had play this games for years, most times as survivor.

But those mods and games were different to dbd.

The Zombie Master and the Zombie King, or how ever he was called, was something were you better had fear for, because the Zombie Master could watch you to any time* and the Zombie King was not beatable in Meele Distance**.

Edit: *And use traps to kill you, if you were near them or spawn different types of Zombies near you.

** He had just kill you then, or infect you with the zombie virus, so that you turn over time to a zombie and be on his team^^. Was always nice when someone turned into a zombie while he was in the middle of the survivor group :).

  • Yes. Killers should be feared imo.

Then I would also playing more on the survivor side. The relaxed playstyle as survivor is just not my thing, but would that change I would be turning into a survivor main, I guess.

Edit: And that is not thought as a exaggeration from my side.

  • No, I don't think so.

Maybe, if they would wake up, they would maybe fix all the bugs and the obvious op things, but... To be a competitive game, they need to deliever more.

Killers with unique abilities and so on. For a time dbd has gone this path, but at the moment they seem to bring every killer down to a m1 killer.

That's fine for the newbies, but it is boring for everyone else and with that, the place is not there, were a competitive scene could grow.

These are things you can use to make an educated and informed guess that the people you're versing are SWF. None of these, however, are actual confirmations that they're definitely SWF. These factors could just be coincidence.

Comon... How high is the chance that you see multiple times, the same people together?*

The chance is imo higher to get hit by an asteroid, as that those guys are not a swf.

Edit: *Without the reason for it that they are playing together.

  • I think they having good intentions, but they making bad decisions, born out the wrong reasons they seem to find important.

It does not even appear they are attracting many new players through this strategy. New players come and stay through word of mouth. I have seen far too many forms of entertainment chase new fans while ignoring their dedicated ones. Very rarely ends well.

All the things a user can do is to tell them that... And probably look how they ignore it. Would not be the first time.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

There's definitely an issue with matchmaking at the moment and I can see how that is frustrating but I haven't had any issue with SWF lately.

There's no accurate way to know the people you're versing are a SWF group unless they explicity tell you in post-game chat.

    You can see it.

    It's highley possible if:

-They all joining to the same time and show a similar skillset and have a similar behavior.

-You see them always in the lobby with the other people they have last time played.

-They are all on the same rank (+/- 1) and or have one rank 20-18 in it (you know, baby survivor caring so that he comes fast up to rank 1, only to face then rank 1 killers directly... I guess).

If one or more of those points happen, you have either face a swf, or face one at the moment.

  • Lol. That has made my day. Thank you for that.

Sometimes even I feel bad for the survivors. On the other hand... I guess it will take some time until the devs make something, so that playing killer feels more appealing, to more people.

Then would this not so terrible;).

  • I am also for a mori change. Not because I think they need a change, but...

... Honestly the waiting times for survivors are not long enough yet.

I just lean back on my chair, read the killer nerfs that will probably going on and smile while I read threads from survivors who complain about longer and longer... waiting times for a match :).

And there the people say dbd would make no fun anymore^^.

  • -When I miss a hit because of a lag.

-Running to often into the same perks by survs, but at least for this I have a solution ->playing less dbd.

-And 1 time a ingame situation where a Jeff had outplay me. He was at full health in egc near a gate and we have stay on a large loop spot.

I have know that it wouldn't help me to hit him with m1, because then he would be just injured and running to the gate... And well frenzy is there also no help.

Usually it is not that dramatic if you getting outplayed, but that one... Wish I had be there hillbilly or some other killer.

  • I play more with the hit'n run tactic in the early game. Just to slow the game a bit down.

Later after a few minutes have gone I usually try to tunnel a survivor down. For 2 reasons:

-To lure more survivors in a area I know (because people will try to rescue this one survivor)

-To slow the game even more down, because even in the worst case 2 guys can't do gens in this time. Sometimes even more, if more as 1 trys to rescue the hung up survivor.

While the survivors trying to sneak in to the hooked survivor, I usually try to damage the gens and hunt other survivors down that not try to safe the one survivor.

After the hooked survivor is rescued I turn back and try to hook either the unhooker, or the hooked one again - depending on which one I see first.*

*However, if the survivors rescue the hooked one really fast in a few secounds, I try to patrol the area with a bit of distance, next time. Far enough so that they doesn't hear my tr and hopefull not see me.

But that I only do in the rar cases where this happens because it hurts also my map pressure.

    ------------------

That's my playstyle of the Legion.

I do it with all of the Legion perks and Stridor (a Nurse Perk) since my sounds are sometimes a bit messed up and so I am happy to have a bit of help there.

Edit: But I am not sure if that is something a beginner should do, since I don't use any slow down perks.

I would advice you to throw either Iron Maiden, or Mad Grit away and use instead Pop goes weasel (Clown perk if I remember me correctly) to slow the gens even more down.

    Edit²: Before I forget it:

Raging_Ryuga is a YouTuber. He has a lot of Videos about the Legion. So maybe you find there also a little bit of help by watching his videos.

As those killers are extremely overpowered, they were always used. Most games I played had 1 of those killers to play against. Only difference now, they have to work a little harder

    Let me guess...

Every killer that kills you, is either a trash killer, or is op :).

I have never understand why someone should stay at the red ranks, by all the hassle there.

A quick visit was enough for me, to say "ok... let me depip".

Still I would be curious to see how many survs would stay at the red ranks without all the exhaustion and second chances perks.

Just a few thoughts from a killer who had never used ruin :).

  • The only acceptable reason to dc is imo, if something happens in real life or you running in technical issuses like a disconnect.

And I can understand the frustration as a killer main, who plays nerfed killers, with weaker perks, on large maps in parts.

Also the devs have encourage the people to dc. On one hand they say, they would ban everyone who did this, on the other hand they using it sometimes as an argument to justify killer nerfs.

Well, I am curious now if the next survivor nerf will be justifyed with this^^.

The ghost's they have call starting to devour dbd more and more.

Because BHVR is going to nerf toolboxes without fixing the actual problem. It's what they do. It's what they've done for 3 years. Then we're going to have to wait months, possibly up to 6 years, for just a fix on some of the maps. It's very irksome.

I never said fixing the symptom is bad. But the symptom is not the problem and BHVR's pattern always shows that they quietly fix the symptom -- plug the runny nose, like with putting in blood lust and Bamboozle to take care of bad map design and infinites (instead of fixing the bad map design and the infinites) and over two years later, we still have bad map design and infinites rather than them actually being removed from the game.

I say 5 minutes, because it should take 5 minutes. The framework to do such a change, unless the game is very horribly spaghetti-coded, should be there to make such a change, and it should be an easy one.

If I can make a Mirror's Edge map as an art project (Still a big work in progress) without any programming knowledge and using Unreal 3 (which is much worse than Unreal 4 according to one of my friends who does have programming knowledge and works in Unreal 4) then a team of game developers should be able to move or block a damn window or three without any considerable time commitment or resources when the foundation and framework has already been laid to do such a change:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/460/X5YSA8IZ4T9C.png

I just wanted to say, your map looks really nice.

But I guess she would be really stay as art, or? Can't imagine that a pc could run a map like that, without being a NASA system :D.

In one of my first maps, I had make a map for a long gone HalfLife 1 mod (VampireSlayer) and I can remember how I needed to cut 70-80% of my work out, because the map was actual to big for the map-compiler, that the old worldbuilding tools from Valve have used.

That was a sad, but also a funny moment :D.

Personally I would like to see a screenshot from the worldbuilding-tools bhvr is using. Then I would maybe some of the problems a bit better understand, bhvr seems to have. On the other hand - no companie likes to show its tools, so we maybe will never see them.
