  • A bit of truth is in his/her words.

I don't know which guy at bhvr has think that stuns are a fun-element for the killer players, but they have make sure that almost every killer has to suffer under them.

Imagine survivors would have to deal with the same amount of stuns as killers... Oh I would like to read the forums then... :).

    Still, also AlostPuppy is right.

Some killers need some practice. The good news is, they most time need not many of it. If you have the chance to learn, use the chance. It is for sure difficult at the moment where the matchmaking puts red and purple rank survs+de-rankers down to lower tier killers to troll them, or whatever^^.

  • I assume it is their method to make the waiting times short as possible.

I hate it also, but without it, the waiting times maybe triple, or so.

There isn't much gameplay to the survivor side, so it's hard to really design diverse perks that are also useful in the context of the survivor and killer objective. It's not like they can design perks that make you jump higher, for instance. There are plenty of perks that aren't second chances, such as Pharmacy, Aftercare, Solidarity, etc. But they're all very niche and pale in comparison to perks that directly keep you alive.

Another reason why dbd needs to have new game modes.

1 reason why I only play 1-2 matches/day are, because I encounter always the same survivor perks and that is boring and sometimes exhausting.

I also don't use them in the rar games where I play survivor, because imo dbd needs not 1 more boring survivor with a boring perk-build. If that makes me dieing faster, I am ok with it. As survivor I don't need to be alive at the end of the match anyways, to win it.

But back to what I was trying to say: With more game modes, more perks would become important, I think. Maybe we would see then a rise of perks that the most survivors don't even know that they have them.

And no my survivor mains, I don't write this here to see those perks nerfed, but I am annoyed by them because you see them in literally every match.

I would love to see a bit variety.

Many killers wear not the optimal perks and I have the dream... :) that one day also more survivors just play to have fun and not always come up with some tryhard perks.

  • The only good use I have found in hex perks is, that survivors clean the totems very often and wasting with it time. Even if you have no hex perks running :).

  • I never farm with survivors on purpose, if nothing like dcs happened before. Then I farm with them, because it would not be a fair game anymore for them.

Also I am not good in "survivor-ish".

For 1-2 weeks as example I had 2 guys t-bagging for me in a door of that yamatoka (or however) house.

It had looked crazy, but it had honestly very confuse me and... because I didn't know what I should do, I had kill them then. Also in the endgame chat, they were silent.

Their behavior is even today a mystery for me.

Edit: Even a other survivor was confused from them and asked them why they have done it. Damn... Now I think again about this. Argh... :(

  • I also like Springwood, but only because of the setting.

I just perfer "twon-ish" maps above others, because I think, they looking better.

The most succes I have - feeled - in the pig and demo map.

  • Mhm, yes I could let her the hatch.

But I am happy to hear, that I am not alone with those thoughts <3.

Btw. the Blendette was not afk, but she had bring her name honor and was constanly moving (crouching I guess) around the map and just doing gens :).

  • I am at the moment just rank 10 because I had not play much in this month, but I know those swfs, from my time before, where I had either high ranks, or meet de-rankers on my way up.

They are balancing him though...how ignorant can people be?

I am not a doc expert. I wish the doc mains the best and hope that balance is really the goal.

  • I don't know which level I am honestly. I had stop somwhere in the mid way as I had more and more challenges for me that smelled rather after luck, as grinding or skill.

That is not a rant. Gameelements that smell after luck have just an effect like that on me.

However, I have watch then the story and the storyvideos on YouTube and they are great. So I think it is still a great, new feature.

  • This free hit is really a curse^^.

So many people think that this is something special. Sometimes it sounds even better as any other killer abilitiy.

Killers with experience barley miss a hit. It happens and I bet to every player, but comon...

I would trade the first hit happily to anytime, against any other killer abilitiy.

... As long as I am not playing on console. People tell that they have there some serious problems, because of framerates or so.

  • I remember also that they allegedly had plan to rework the Legion a second time, but I honestly don't know anymore if that was really the words from a dev, or just wishful thinking of some guys.

The Legion had barly survive the last rework and it completely destroyed the old gameplay of the Legion.

I am not sure if I would like to see a second rework.

Don't know what crazy ideas then would come up. Maybe a 10 sec stun after every m1 attack because people getting still from the Legion hooked?

Nah... I am happy about small changes and that things don't get worse.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/116104/so-is-this-it-for-legion

The two big survivor DC backlashes were when Freddy and Legion came out. Freddy got a redesign and is no longer an "annoying" killer. Buffing Legion without changing his basekit and mechanics will only increase DCs on him again. Either he stays nerfed or he gets changed into a new killer. Either way, if you liked playing old Legion he's gone forever.

    And who cares?

Seriously, bhvr is the only companie I know, that takes toxic behavior serious.

In any other game, dcer would be either ignored, kickd from the servers, or banned.

But here use even some devs them as an argument.

Some may say, that dbd would lose players if those people would go.

I say dbd is losing players, everyday!, because of this guys.

And now ask yourself: What is more unhealthy for the game?

  • I expect 1-3 smaller patches for the Legion, but I can't know when they come.

By the patches I think less on balance, but I believe that the Legion should have a fluid gameplay and that she hasen't.

The pre patch Legion had a fluid gameplay, no matter what someone maybe thins of the concept of the Legion.

The Legion today feels as she would try to be 2 seperat killers on the same time and that don't feel fluid and also not after a good concept.

The necessary changes for that would be minimal and we can be thrilled how long bhvr needs to make this minimal changes :).

  • If it was a match in my favor, or a normal match, or also a "normal" lose, yes.

However, if I feel cheated I mostly leave the endgame screen as soon as possible, or leave the endgame screen with a "would like to catch you guys 1 day alone" or something like that^^.

I insult no one, but I also don't hide what I think.

  • That throws a interesting question in the room...

The survivor can maybe hope that they can 1 day go back to the real world and live a normal life again (with that memories... brrr...). Maybe also shown ingame, via some new ingame feature someday.

...But for what can killers hope?

Some like Spirit have an advantage, because of their powers, but the most killers... They can only hope to stay forever in the entity realm, or they would be overwhelmed by police forces, as soon as they know where to find them.

Exist somewhere in the world of the entity, something like an "Sovengarde for killers" (yeah I play to many Skyrim)?

What can a killer hope to achieve at the end?

You're thinking of John Wayne Gacy, I believe. And you're right, it's entirely possible that he was an inspiration for the DBD Clown, as he seems to have been for most Clown killers in horror fiction over the last few decades.

Thanks. I remember having seen a birographic of him on the biographics YouTube channel (and many others).

  • Well, I have also the opinion that some killers are to weak, or to frustrating (unfun in dbd-ish) to play, but don't you think that would not be too much?

Too easy games are usually also boring games.

    Just saying.

  • To be fair, the direct implication that someone has done something banworthy can also seen as offensive by another person.

Still I think many things in dbd looking strange for beginners in dbd.

Alone all the aura reading survivor and killer perks... In other games you get such powers only via a really good headset (footsteps hearing and so on), or via cheating^^.

  • Some swfs are toxic just because they can.

Usually I would understand if someone argues about moris, but on the other hand, I bet this swf was not better and had all the second chances perks equipped + the most annoying items + their microphons.

So... I would smile at them and think "if you think you are any better then let me pls lol the next hour".

Still, there are a ton of swf out there that are ok. Not every swf is like this.

I believe they said next is Leatherface and Hillbilly, and Pig is somewhere in line too. It isn't based solely off "annoying," Leatherface is downright weaker than other killers and his add ons don't make sense for his own power. Hillbilly need his add ons sorted to be more in line with the standard rarities.

And yes, it shouldn't "end," continuing to keep content relevant with the current state of the game is a good thing.

Well, I have not talk about balance. Balance is always a good thing, but to make a patch just because some people might feel annoyed by... whatever...

That is just a outlandish reason for me.

  • @anarchy753 said:

It's not exactly a sound argument to pretend no information can be known about the game just because they haven't personally polled every player.

Everyone knows Doctor has a tremendous history of disconnects because of how annoying he is. Hell my adept Doctor came from 4 DCs because we loaded into the meat packing plant.

Doctor is both rarely played, and unenjoyable to go against, and many of his mechanics reward simply existing regardless of how well you play. His other more skilled mechanics are punished by clumsy controls for just being able to attack after a zap.

Yes, everyone is going to have their own personal opinion on who is the most annoying, but that doesn't mean the devs are clueless as to which one wins.

Well... But where will this end?

As said before... There will always be a "most annoying to play against".

After they are done with the Doctor, who is next and then and then... and then?

If you really go straight down this line, you will never reach the end.

Also dc'ers need to be banned. That is the only matter for what dc'ers are good for.

  • Refering to the first posting of this thread...

If "annoying to play against" is really the reason and nothing else, then bhvr has won the award for the "most stupid update reason" in 2019 (and that at least a second time).

If that is true, then congrats bhvr! :)

Btw. bhvr there will always be a "most annoying to play against" killer be, because... That is just the nature of the beast, if we like to say so.

And second, who makes you think that you know what every survivor thinks?

Even the people here in the forums, or other dbd communitys, are just a snippet of all the people that playing dbd.

If dbd is not totally different to other games, then the majority of people that play the game will never write here in the forums.

They just play the game, or not, without writing about it in any community. They will only talk with their friends about dbd, if those friends are also interested in games - that said.

TL:DR You will never be able to learn what everybody is thinking about the game.

Edit: And that means "most annoying to play against" - you can't say it until you know what everybody is thinking.

But that are just my 2 cents.

What's your point with the "survivor sided posting"? If I a disagree with you I'm a survivor main?

Sorry that I'm actually good with killers and don't need my hand held, the game is insanely easy for both sides of you're actually good at both sides.

And the old legion was changed because his power was dumb AF, go watch some legions mains and they mostly 3k every match because they're actually good and not lazy and dedicate the time to be good.

No, you don't but if you only write if there would be problems on survivor side, or at least the majority, then it is survivor sided imo, no matter what you are playing.

Besides that a power can't be "dumb af". Powers can only be boring for you as a person, or a group of people, but not in general. For this are we humans to individual.

I find also specific killer and survivor perks boring - for others they seem to be very important and sometimes fun.

Still, you can't denie, that dbd can have its unfair moments for both sides.

  • Meyers. Followed by Trapper. Thanks to the Halloween-Edition (or however this edition was called) we can still se him as a free killer, or?

  • I hope, I will not hear the words "we need to talk" for a long time in my real life... but what dbd matters, you are right :).

Totems destroying could really give more ep. So would maybe also some survivors learn, that there is a way against all the hex perks.

I know for a fact that he is a killer main so he knows the struggles killers can go through.

Well. I can only write about what I have read/see or about what I remember from the experience I have made.

And after my experience have both sides unbalanced features on their shoulders - heavily depending on the individual balancing between killer X and survivors, because not every killer has the same strength.

Only bad nurses that were running 3 blink / ruin are affected by the nurse change she's still incredibly powerful, it's just lazy players refusing to actually learn killers, same goes for spirit. Legion was changed to do the ridiculousness of his power, wasn't punished for missing hits and was faster than survivors so all you had to do was wait for power to drain.

The biggest issues with this game is maps and the lack of skill killers posses, back when there was only 8 - 10 killers it's was easy to he average with all of them. Now there's so many killers people just want to win every match with little effort. Survivors objectives are always achieved the same way, each killer plays different so obviously it takes more time to be good with each killer than it does to be good with survivor. The issue is people don't want to get better with one killer they want to do well with every killer, it's ridiculous.

    Very survivor sided posting.

Also not every killermain likes to play every killer.

As example, some I won't play because I find them to ugly (no, I don't say here which ones :P) and some are just not my style. Like the nurse as example. I can kill with her, but besides dailies... not my favorite character.

If you think that the Legion had a rediculos power, then I know you have never play the Legion, or never play the Legion without at least the op addons. That doesn't speaks for you in my eyes.

The problem is that you sometimes meet strong survivor groups who can everything outplay, you have to offer as a killer and then we have a not balanced situation.

It is the same with killers. If a killer can everything outplay, what a survivor can bring up, then there is again a balance issue.

  • The Legion had 2 exploits and those 2 exploits needed to be fixed. Also at a bare minimum was 1 of their addons op. 2 if you ask me.

That said... The rest was not necessary.

I remember good on the days where survivors were complaining about the Legion and the most of them had no knoweldge of the Legion at all.

They only had a terrible experience because of the exploits and the op addon and/or only watch streamers who have play with those exploits or addons and thought that would be the Legion.

But the truth is, that the Legion was to no time op, without the exploits and without the op addon/s.

I still wish that they had only nerf/fixed the exploits and op addons :|.

  • Well.. Swfs can turn the game down to a braindead-easy mode for them, but still... It's a multiplayer game and as such, it will always have swfs in it.

The only way out would be to balance killers afters swfs.

  • There was a serial killer in the united states, that was also a clown. But... Don't ask me for his name, I have forget him^^.

The trapper sounds also pretty realistic and also the Legion.

Edit: The story of the Hillbilly reminds me also a bit on Ed Gin (Gein, Gien?).

I know, there is such a lack of detail on that subject. I don't think the archives will answer that either, since it's more focused on character events than general information.

Well I looking forward for the Legion, Meyers and Pig archive-lore. I also hope that they bring something about every Legion member in the archive. Joey is still a very mysterious one as example and also Susie, besides that she is best friend with Julie. From Frank we know at least that he has life together with a I guess ignorant and drunken stepfather and that Julie was a local beloved-partygirl.

Killers hang in their realms (Legion on Ormond, Demogorgon at Hawkins, etc.), while survivors hang at the campfire (It's already said at this point, but maybe showing what exactly they can do at the campfire would be nice)... although the new banner might show what they do at christmas... idk...

I thought already that, but I wouldn't mind some story-snippets from example of the Legion, what they are doing then on their old House in Ormond.

  • I personal think that the Legion is ok and has only 2 "weak spots".

-1 is that she can't handle good played swfs or survivor groups. I have also watch raging_ryuga and something I have miss by him and by many other streamers is to see them playing against very good swfs.

On the other hand, maybe they cutting those matches out, because well... They will always end in a lose.

-2 The concept of the Legion still feels not right for me. I wish the Legion had a more fluid gameplay.

Not primaly for balance reasons, but for "fun reasons". The pre patch Legion had make so much fun imo, because she had a fluid-gameplay and I still miss this.

That is everything negative I can say about the Legion.

Well... That and that we still have no handholding-balloon for Susie. Would be funny to hunt with it and a knife, a David or so :D.

  • I got 2x bullied by the same swf group with bodyblocking.

However, the second time I had Madgrit equipped.

The game was already over and the gates were open.

1 had come back to bully me (it was pre egc-times) and I was able to catch him. Then all of his friends stormed in, to the same time in the hope that they can bodyblock me and prevent their friend from being hooked.

Then they realised that I had this time Madgrit equipped and you could see how they panic while they had instantly try to run away and move against walls, or their friends.

End of story: Non of them had survive the match and all this, because 1 of them was so stupid to walk back in the match, after the gates were already open.

Proudest and sweetest moment in my dbd "career" :).

Edit: And what can survivors learn from it? Never underestimate the Legion :P.

  • I like to have explained what survivors and killers do in their freetime.

I bet they have a ton of free time, between the matches and I would like to know what they are doing then.

Answers like "they all sitting around a campfire then" are just unsatisfying. I bet nobody would be able to sit 10+ hours straight on a campfire without doing something, or move to some location, to do there something.

    I rarely use moris.

I like to use devour hope, it is a lot more balanced than moris.

Hey thanks for the devour hope tip.

I have not the hag yet, but maybe one day. Still... I have my doubts that hex-perks work against good swf groups.

They usually look after totems, even I think it is most likley because of noed.

I use usually no hex-perks. Still I see sometimes survivors clean the totems and that always makes me smile, because it wastes their time, for nothing (in my case).

  • I have only use moris 1 day in my dbd "life".

Still, I see them as a counter to keys and very strong swf groups. Not every killer is good enough balanced, to be able to deal with them, but with moris you can do at least something against them.

Also I need to admit... I would miss the pure possibility to do it. That has nothing to do with balance, but the animations looking cool :).

Something different to always hanging someone up on that hook^^.

Survivors needs to move or they get crows, so you can use whisper (a very underrated perk) but no, people decide to use that trash perk only because X streamer uses it (bbq)

You just need to think like a survivor and review your enviorement

Survivors in the killer position would also always use something like bbq instead of wispers.

When I see how many survivors running around only with the strongst surv perks... Just be happy that this behavior is not so far spread by killers.

Otherwise you would have only matches with noed and ruin and nothing else anymore.

  • @yermom said:

@Talmeer Per the game, the lore says the entity is allowing you to kill instead of it. But you must hook once, before it will allow you to. But, I think it just prevents the game from ending quickly.

As for Keys, there is absolutely no counter play to them unless you camp the hatch. They really only annoy me because survivors seem to get them from chests when the odds are in my favor when I'm playing killer. Like when I get a three gen setup by accident. But whatever.

Thanks for giving a lore answer to that. Surley the entity is something like "magic" in other games (aka. something to just explain everything), but still it helps, to accept it.

  • Moris need to be done 4x times to have the same effect for the killer, as a key had for survivors.

Besides that, would moris be bound on all gens done, or something like that - there would be simply not enough time, to use them on every survivor.

That is not the case by keys.

Btw. the use of keys makes sense.

You have your key and use it then. End of story. But why in hell, can I as killer only murder someone after I have already hung him 1x time?

That makes from a realistic standpoint no sense.

  • Because "no counterplay", how the people in this forums like to say to a variety of other topics.

Well then what's your problem? If you're doing it the way I'm doing it this is like easy mode, sorry to say. If you are complaining about it you have to be doing something wrong.

Like it just doesn't make sense.

He just tryd to say, that you will sooner or later find the borders of the Legion. Trust me, you will.

Still, why is everyone looking so much on the bps?

If you like the game, they coming from alone (almost). Imo, its not good to see dbd as work, while racing trough the matches just for bps.

I'm a pretty decent survivor I'd say, I usually hover in purple ranks. I played maybe one or two games as killer when I first got this game, and HATED it. I suck as killer because I've never been good at aiming with the controller on a video game. I decided to try killer out tonight after a couple months and I'm having a blast even though I'm bad at it. But I see how hard it actually is. Even though I have an advantage from my survivor experience to help, I still really could only manage to get a few kills. (High rank survivors are RANDOM.) But I swear I get stuck on EVERYTHING. That's what annoys me the most is getting caught on random obects especially in a chase.

Side note: High rank survivors really confuse me. I literally opened the door for them and they teabagged me. Wut.

Don't try to understand every survivor type and behavior you maybe encounter the on or other day.

You wouldn't like to walk around with self-face-palming the whole day :D.

Still, if you like it, go for it and make the entity happy ;).

  • Is purposeful gen rushing bannable?

Saw last time guys doing this to me... ME!!!

    :)

Aw... When will people finally learn that doing your objective is not bannable? *rises a brow*

  • Legion. Because of the story and what you have saw of them in the dlc trailers.

I use the Legion perks, because well... That's how I like to play the Legion.

However, with the fourth perks I experiment very often. At the moment I think, I let "Stridor" on its place there.

  • Sometimes are scratchmarks not necessary.

I remember as example on 1 match, were I had saw the backside of a mag behind a car on the autohaven map, while I was hooking a survivor.

What do you do as killer in such a sitation?

You try to catch the mag, but you also try to not move too far away from the hook, because there is a high chance that other survivors will also try to unhook the hooked survivor while you are running behind that mag^^ (or hooking her also somewhere up).

TL:DR Some killers may have not even need to scratchmarks, because they have directly saw the survivor :).

  • *Takes with frenzy 4 cakes from a table and runs into the fog*

Merry x mas everyone *nom nom nom*

  • Is Meyers still considered as "human"?

I am not so much into Halloween lore, but I had always assume, that some dark power sticks in him, because of his strength sometimes and also his ability to ignore pain (so I have not see him as a "pure" human for a long time).

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but since it seems to matter for this thread if something is human, or not... :)

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 28
