Currect JUST steam players playing btw on the Event. Nice!
Btw the event is way better than the 5th and 4th aniversary imo because we can earn more unique cosmetics (instead of just the crowns that almost no one ever used after the event because they aren't great imo), also BP offerings are way more common in survivors bloodwebs (compare to the last year where it was really grindy to get one). Cool menu, cool decoractions, very good event so far!
Gl hf!
Dying? No.
Peaked? Probably. This will likely fall off to 25k odd by February, then go back up to...I'd bet around 80k next anniversary.
The next year will be 20k and 60k respectively.

If you want to mald for the rest of ur time playing this then go ahead. I can't stop you.
It's not tilting, it's just...annoying. It's like playing out a hard fought match of Rugby, losing and then, when it's time to shake hands at the end of the game, your opponent spits in your face and calls you a loser.
It's...odd how this is acceptable in the video game world, and nowhere else.

I simply don't understand survivors. Everyone is bringing a cake and yet they still genrush just to leave the game with a meager score. I only was able to get a single hook, that's simply awful. Games like this are the reason why I don't wanna bring anniversary offerings into these events at all, they're simply wasted on these type of people.

Yes, this is about what I've been saying. Except it's more like 1 pudding, 1 further hook offering, 1 white ward and 1 map offering.

I find it easy to down someone with main event. I played trickster pre knife nerf and got main event at least 4 times a trial. Me getting to use it however.... yeah 10 seconds to activate main event was bogus.
Yeah. I got that one in like...4 games, and I'd barely played Trickster before.

Not "all the time" but frequently enough where I'm weary of farming killers, especially during events. And no I don't teabag, I just put bags of flaming poop on their doorsteps.
But...you said 'all the time?'.
To be fair, I've literally encountered two 'farming' killers (in that they didn't play, they just wanted to farm BP) since I've started playing.

This literally happened to me already today. The killer was pretty bad so we didn't actually get a lot of points as there was only one unhook to be done before all gens popped. The killer then pretends to farm. I seem the only one who is cautious... until he slugs three and goes after me too. I managed to get away and potentially worried about Unbreakables he picks up one of the survivors - the only person on death hook at that point. Luckily she had Decisive Strike. We managed to snowball from there and get all four people out but it was only by a hair!
Yeah, that's unfortunate. Again, I'm not saying it never happens, but I'm saying that it's vanishingly rare in my experience - and letting a single bad experience with a person of a specific category make you treat other people of the same category poorly...that's the sort of thinking I try not to engage in.

Ah yes, the peak of Challenge design, throw the game to get it, so much fun.
Fun bonus on top, you need to be in a chase to trigger this, it's always great if you're near a window to trigger this and the chase doesn't start, fun fun fun.
Yeah, this one is dumb. There's another very annoying killer one too, that involves getting stunned then immediately hitting someone.

Then you don't play survivor because killers do that ######### all the time. Maybe not the end game build but for sure pretend to play nice.
All the time?
Really?
I play survivor about as much as I do killer these days.
I'm not saying this never happens, but I will say that I've never seen it, either on my end or on the end of the streamers I watch. Not once.
Are you sure you aren't doing something to annoy them? I know that I'll pants a teabagger the first chance I get.

@Sluzzy said:
This is a casual warning to not play survivor during the event. Killers are sweating profusely during event even when 5 event offerings are using. The first two matches I played were against Onis and they would hook, pretend to leave, and then come right back and tunneled people off the hook. Also slugged everyone.
Killers are not punished for this. It is very easy to do this and they still get 30K+ while survivors all get less than 10K.
Dear BHVR, balance your game and make it a level playing field so both survivors and killers have equal chances of winning and getting equal amount of bloodpoints. One person shouldn't have the ability to deny bloodpoints to 4 others.
Played 8 games of killer. 4 of those were against ultra sweaty partial/full SWFs, who were rude as all hell to boot.
2 of them had multiple DCs.
2 of them were decent.
Played 1 game of survivor, really chill Ghostface.
It's almost as if there are both nice people and cruel people playing this game at the same time.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
Everybody has a different idea of fun and expecting others to want to play the way you want them to is silly.
Plus there's absolutely no reason to trust that a killer won't pretend to play for fun and then their end game build activates and they sacrifice everyone.
That's...a little paranoid. Plus, even if that were the case - you'd still have gotten plenty of BP from them playing for fun :).

@Vampwire said:
Many players are coming back for this. And the last thing they want to see is hyper sweat. I've been running stealth builds on killers and doing some of the community challenges. Playing but never killing anyone. And many people have been thankful for this. I don't dare to play any survivor during this event because I know these events bring out those types. I've already been told by a few people that it's been pretty obnoxious and the event has only been out for like 2 hours.
Just try something different. Mix things up. Be nice and have fun. Will some survivors be #########? Of course. The same can be said for killers also though. The best thing to do against BM is to play along with it and not give a negative reaction. Nod, spin in circles, creep out from walls, moonwalk, basically anything playful. Then give them a big "gg <3" at the end. Whether you win or lose. Anybody bm'ing you just wants a reaction. And denying that to them is the best thing you can do. If they insist on being an ass just leave the end game chat and don't say anything. This is the biggest blow you can really serve to them.
Have fun everyone! Here's to year 7!
I've been trying...but holy crap are there some sweaty SWFs today, which make it a bit difficult to ease up - as if I'm not running my best stuff on my best killers, I'm getting cooked, served and teabagged to boot.
-
And yet, if I wall people into the poop room on The Game, I'm getting a ban.
Funny, that. It's almost like this isn't a PvE game, and what you do can determine how much fun other people have or don't have.

Eh, both sides have annoying people at times. I know that I've had some...rough groups today, which generally result in me losing because I go in with fun, meme-y builds and try to play nice, only to get stomped when I realize that they just want to slam gens and get out ASAP too late to recover.

@Wampirita said:
I'm just a mediocre killer main that came here to beg the survivors to play normally.
I've done like 5-6 matches now and how every single one of them looks like? ALL survivors hiding, not touching gens and waiting for other survivors to die so they can claim a mask.
One game people were intentionally sandbagging each other just to make them die faster.
YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS FOR 10 MASKS.
Why do you put a Flan offering if you end the game having less than 1000 points, because all you do is sit in a locker.
"UgH, bUt KiLLeRs aRe SwEaTy!"
They aren't, they play the game the same way as they always did. They don't owe you farming games.
As for me if you REALLY need to escape, you can just point out and i'll let every single one of you go.
Just play normally. Sooner or later you will get all of the masks. Or just go as afk wraith, claim all 10 masks and go back to survivors to get the most points you can from the event!
Both sides want to gain something.
But really there IS something wrong if it took me 36 MINUTES to find one immersed Feng, and i still don't know how not a single one of the survivors didn't get the afk crows.
You would play MULTIPLE matches in that time. Is the mask really worth griefing like that?
PLS ffs. You can curse at killers all you want, Yeah, they were the ones that completely destroyed last anniversary, but do you really want to throw games to get 3-4k points with Flan included?
I wish I had some more relaxed groups. Out of my 6 games today, 1 was a group that wanted to fool around and get some BP while also playing, 2 had multiple DCs, and the other three destroyed me like I haven't been destroyed in quite a while, 2 of which were really BM too.
@Seraphor said:
I've had the opposite extreme so far, super sweaty PC master race seal team teabag SWF. It's like matchmaking is oversaturated with high level survivors so all us mid-level chill killers are forced to go against them.

I'm getting sufficient kills to pip and calling it there, rest of you can get away.
But be aware - any teabagging or tomfoolery, and this privilege will be suspended XD
Similarly, survivors - be nice, give me a few hooks (as that's where a lot of my BP comes from during the event) and I'll let you squeak out.

This is already a reportable offense. AFKing is against the rules.
Is it?
I'm guessing you mean that it's a 'report reason' in postgame...but so is rage DCing, and as I recall, the devs have said that DCing isn't bannable after the addition of the penalty system.
As I can't even find a single example of anyone getting banned for either, even anecdotally (outside of one wave in 2019 for DCing, before the current system was in place), the endgame report reasons are likely just a floor file to give people a chance to vent, much like the 'unskilled' report criteria in LoL.

Killers that have played for years and have not smurfed as far as we can tell get survivors with less than a 100 hours in the game. Now I'll be the first one to admit that time =/= skill, but there's no way anyone can get good enough in 100 hours to be a fair challenge to a 6k+ Nurse main.
Lobby dodges, I'm guessing - which do cause the SBMM system to poop the sheets. That's a different issue though.

It all depends because for example I despise Wraith, never use him unless for certain challenges that require gamethrowing so my MMR with him is rock bottom, literally rock bottom, most times I do the challenge and then go AFK or smash some breakable walls if the maps have them. Because of this I face Survivors with hours on the game, that being said if I have to play him for wathever reason (challenges/rituals) I hold back inmensely because I dont want to terrorize 4 people who just bought the game.
Should I be banned? I tanked my MMR deliberately (to an extent) and Im playing against people way below my skill but how do you judge if Im abusing the MMR or just dealing with poor gameplay designs like certain challenges requiring literally to throw and I dont want to tank my MMR on Killers I actually enjoy, its only wrong if you dont hold back? how do we judge this?.
Smurfing is a problem and it doesnt have an easy solution to it, banning people or issuing reprimands shouldnt be done on a general basis and reserved only to most extreme and obvious cases.
If you're literally sitting AFK for hours every day, that shouldn't be hard to detect.
@Xernoton said:
You could argue that everyone, who runs a meme build or tries something new would be smurfing because they consciously decide to not use every tool available and risk to lower their MMR. I have thrown entire matches just to get one nice hit with Hillbilly's chainsaw when I started playing him. There have been days when I lost like 80% of my games because I tried something or I was paired with a strong SWF and didn't tunnel. What is with survivors who kill themselves to show respect for the killer, or killers, who let survivors escape through the gate because they had a good time? That would all be problematic. Basically the only way not to smurf is to either never change the killer or perks you're using because you could lose without them or bring the strongest stuff to give you an extra boost. The problem in my opinion is not "smurfing" but SBMM itself.
See above. There's a difference between fooling around, and sitting AFK.
-
@Carrow said:
It would be weird if BHVR said it shouldn't be allowed, considering that they condone and encourage smurfing, as evidenced by their recent MMR changes allowing all those godly Nurses and Blights to annihilate even less experienced players than before by removing the soft cap from 1900 to 1700.
I have actually seen less wonky matches since the SBMM changes - keep in mind that they also tweaked things to ensure that certain impenetrable barriers exist between specific MMR bands. What you are describing is...literally impossible now, unless the system bugs out or someone is smurfing.

I would really want to play DBD, with all of its fun game aspects, but there are just so many mistakes BHVR has made, and I don't want to play it anymore.
The most critical thing I hate about DBD is SBMM. It has been made sooooo poorly that it breaks the whole aspect of fun.
And the live stream where the devs said that they responded to us, the DBD community, but they have done EVERYTHING wrong, and it even starts to become funny! And about the whole SBMM thing, I will give you an example: "I will play as a Blendette and sit in the corner of the map until my teammates repair all of the gens and I will escape." I have no words for you BHVR. You have hit the lowest point in your career.
You have made a fun game and you yourself are kicking it while it is on the floor.
I started under RBMM. SBMM is a million times better. Note: not perfect, but better.
Here's the thing though. Increasing your MMR isn't a reward. SBMM isn't about rewarding you for winning - it's about trying to match people against/with each other more fairly.
The rewards you get are the BP from the match and the end of the month grade rewards, both of which said Blendette would be missing out almost entirely on. All she's doing, in essence, is making games harder for herself.
@DogeDogeMan said:
"I think we did a pretty good job so far"
'Pretty good' - yeah, I'd agree with that. Not perfect - the lobby dodge issue desperately needs to be fixed, but definitely decent.
Under RBMM, maybe 1 game in 10 was remotely even. I was facing people with thousands of hours with less than 100, thanks to the silly resets and how ridiculously easy it was to get to purple ranks.
Under SBMM, I'd say maybe 3/5 are pretty even, win or lose.
Keep the word 'average' in mind here. If you're good enough to literally loop a killer for 5 minutes, you're going to escape more on average, even if you died in that game. Thus, your MMR will rise over time as a natural byproduct of this.

They honestly don’t give a toss about survivors in solo q hell. I’ve made peace with it now, many streamers are highlighting how hilariously bad it is and I think at the end of the day bhvr has done it to themselves.
Either way good loops in solo q is a necessity but you get nothing for it, worst case you get camped out of the match and no extra points for the time you’ve saved your team, pretty abysmal
There is no such thing as an MMR hell in DbD. In almost all other games, it's mostly an urban legend.
Solo queue needs help, and BHVR have already stated that they are planning to do this. But in a world where SWF exists, balance becomes almost impossible, as either solo, killer or SWF is going to get the greasy end of the stick.

I love our boy. He is simple and easy to understand. However, that also means he is in need of some TLC and QOL changes.
I know they have done this before but he still doesn’t stack up to other killers. Let’s talk about his perks first.
Brutal Strength: 20% increased break speed.
Agitation: Movement speed is increased by 10% while transferring bodies and terror radius is increased by 16 meters
Unnerving Presence: 15% skill check chance while in the killers Terror Radius and success zones decreased by 75%
Compared to more modern perks these are just laughable and almost feel like universal perks. This is how I would change them.
Brutal Strength would be increased to 30%/40%/50%. Making him harder to flashlight but also allowing him to open the breakable doors with ease.
Agitation needs a whole overhaul and I believe I know what to do. If we change it to a Scourge Hook perk with this type of effect it could be a huge boon to him: “Four scourge hooks will spawn throughout the map, If a survivor is put on a scourge hook you gain a token. For each token your movement speed while carrying a survivor is increased by. 3%/4%/5%. Caps at 3. Upon getting three tokens you gain the ability to completely reset the next generator you hit. All tokens shall be used and you’ll have 0”
Unnerving Presence is actually a decent perk, but I feel like it can get a little buff by making the 15% just be automatically 100% with a 60/45/30 second cooldown.
Now his add-one are great, but I feel like he needs a passive or a secondary ability. I’m not fully sure on what however. Without making him over powered.
What do you guys think?
His perks aren't the problem - there are other killers with bad perks that do pretty well.
Agitation is actually quite strong, and makes a great scaffold for PR and Starstruck.
The problem is that Trapper has a kit that was mediocre 4 years ago, and aside from some mild QOL stuff has never been changed.

This is a good one. Or make him start with all his traps. The issue is that he has both the weakest early game out of all killers, and a very poor middle/end game. The only real 'play' he has is sticking someone in the basement and trapping the hell out of it.

Because the core problem is that the win conditions are too simple and abusable.
If i wanted to lower my MMR with this rule i could just play onryo with no perks.
There's a difference between playing a bad killer and losing, and sitting AFK for 8 hours, game after game. In scenario A. the other side can at least pip and get BP, and...actually play the game, and in scenario B. the other side are basically having their time wasted.

- Watch me playing doctor against good survivors
- Go into your shame corner for at least 30 min
- Learn how to play Doctor efficiently
Doc is my second main. I mean seriously, Doc is not a beast like Nurse or Blight, but if u take the best add ons and perks on him u can even beat strong SWFs. It is all about learning when and where u have to use you shock/ static blast. I rarely face docs, he is probably more present in the low mmr. But when I face a doc, it is mostly a baby doc.
The doctors I face are always complete villains. People underestimate how insanely annoying he can be when he camps, as he can make unhooking literally impossible.
@Mozic said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3001050#Comment_3001050
I'm curious to dissect a doctor main's perspective - I've personally strayed away from perks like Bamboozle that offer loop denial (and similarly, palette perks like Spirit Fury) because I sorta figured that at least in principle a Doc should be able to circumvent both with the m2. Is that not really the case?
Like, as StarLost put it - Doctor's m2 can't be leveraged as consistently as other anti-loop tools (otherwise Doctor would probably have a reputation for being able to mindlessly shut down every loop with m2 spam, which is very evidently not the case) but then, like, what's the point?
In cases where the loop is down to a mindgame it plays out more like how I expect - by which I mean using the m2 through walls to predict where the survivor is and then take advantage of a successful shock when coming around the corner, or to trap them against a palette on a short loop, but I always feel like I'm using it pretty ineffectively and relying almost exclusively on survivor mistakes with only the occasional forced error.
I'm not a Doc main, but I play him a fair amount (less than I used to, admittedly, since Artist and Dredge were released) and tend to do decently with him, even against strong teams.
I generally run:
Discordance - amazing on him, as you'll frequently know where at least 2 people are.
Pain Resonance - he needs all the time he can get to down people.
Agitation - see above. Plus, synergy with:
Starstruck - his blast allows you to locate people really fast after a hook.
He also works well with Discordance, PR, DMS, Devour. Iron Maiden is decent on him too, as people often instinctively get into lockers to dodge blasts.

I seen someone say it was a breath of fresh air to have a non looping killer or anti loop. but his ability is like freddy, teleport but bigger scale, his antiloop is more effective id say because he has the pyramid head ability, cancel power and instant attack. he can attack instantly out of his teleport back to husk and he can stop his power to instant attack and because his cooldown is so fast he can catch you if you run away. running away will save extra 3 seconds per hit which adds up but honestly is some dumb counterplay but hey its the game design. and his darkness can actually make moonwalking and hiding stains easier and you cant instantly see other loops. this killer seems really strong overall maybe not at highest level like most killers but he still is strong. people just still suffer with him by swinging too early during a teleport mindgame or they are too ambitious with locker teleports. what do you guys think?
Uh...no, he doesn't.
- He's really slow while channeling, and it's very telegraphed. If he does it, leave the loop (or threaten to).
- You can instantly dispel it by touching the remnant.
- Nightfall isn't an anti-loop. It's a totally unique mechanic.
Dredge is honestly shaping up to be another 'perfect' killer, like Plague and Artist. Not too strong, not too weak, with the advantage of creative addons.
@Zozzy said:
He is artist V2. Just leave the loop when he drops remnant and he will be slowed enough to make the next loop.
He's a bit weaker than Artist, as he has to permanently maintain a channel or the remnant vanishes.

The only edge he has over Artist is that his addons aren't crap.

thats a good point that i forgot to bring up, i was mainly just going over how strong he is all around not his downsides.
He has plenty of downsides.
- He's entirely reliant on locker spawns. A map with bad locker spawns (Badham...oh man) is very difficult for him.
- His remnant is easy to counter if you are even slightly observant.
- He's a bit snowball reliant, so if he's behind he can't do much to catch up.
- He has no tool to deny unhooks.
He's definitely good, but he's not at the level of some of the stronger killers.

ive played against him alot and what i CAN say is its not guaranteed. if he zones you to the area away from pallets youre screwed and if the other pallets are too far youre screwed. it only works in a pallet dense area and also he can teleport back and instantly move and swing, baiting it isnt gonna be much use if they follow you until youre right on it. thats why im saying he is pretty strong because he can zone you easily and his cooldown is so fast that he can instantly catch up. but yes you guys have a point if its a pallet dense area, but so far ive only had a few situations where that was true. so its like 5050 in my case of when his counterplay worked
Then...don't get zoned?
Run to the area of the loop furthest from his remnant and then 'threaten' to leave. If he keeps channeling, leave. Otherwise, resume looping. He's extremely slow while channeling.
What you are describing is true for most killers, in that if you're in an isolated loop, you're going down eventually. You shouldn't be able to loop a killer forever.

I have played on the Autohaven maps countless times and I can say I have never once heard the sound from the car you mentioned. Its those little things that can go unnoticed forever if you never know they exist. I'll keep an ear out for it the next time I go there.
I've literally only ever found it once. Called the missus over to make sure I wasn't crazy.
99% sure it was in the car 'walls' on Gas Heaven.

I wish they added exhaustion back to iridescent king just for that extra scariness
His iris are honestly...sort of crap. King is okay, but you lose out on the primary effects of his addons. Queen is a fun concept, but does very little in reality.

I've got tons of these, I don't know why I have a keen eye on small random details
- You can disarm hag traps with flashbangs and I think blast mines as well
- During the pallet reset animation while using any means necessary, Legion cannot vault over it. (P sure)
- You can find a reused kitchen knife asset in Dead Dawg Saloon on the poker table. It's the exact same one Myers uses
- Renewal's timer still ticks down even if you're healthy after being unhooked (Like by adrenaline) making it so if you get injured within 20 seconds of being unhooked, you'll be healed back to healthy again
- By running resurgance you're essentially giving your teammate 'we'll make it' since they both turn the heal time from 16 seconds to 8.
- Survivors actually have two different dying state animaions: one when recovering and one when not recovering. The recovery animation is a small loop of the survivor trying to push themselves up and falling back down
- Remember me still warns survivors that it's active even if the killer has 0 stacks. I learned this today from a sad match against a killer who got 1 hook the whole game
Some of these are really great, thanks!

thank you all for the advice. i think ill give him a few more chances before i write him off as hopeless.
A few tricks:
- The addons that give a permanent red stain on survivors is incredible for spotting.
- The addons that make fake doctors spawn at lower madness levels are amazing.
- Remember that the fakes will always face a survivor when they spawn. Use that to triangulate.
- Expect your shocks to fail, but on a lot of loops, it's not that bad. Just run around and bop them as they can't vault back XD.
- Don't use your blast immediately - I prefer to use it on my first chase, as it'll often hit multiple people.
- Discordance is one of his best perks, for obvious reasons. DMS is solid too.
- Extended range+faster shocks addons are incredible, and make him feel like he has an actual anti-loop power.
- Don't always push people into M3 ASAP. Leave them at M2, and pop M3 when you need immediate disruption.
- You can instantly deny unhooks, cleanses etc. with a well timed shock.
- For a fun gimmick, run Oppression, Overcharge, Merciless Storm and Lullaby on him.

During Nightfall, the best perk in the game, BBQ & Chill told me Steve was doing Yamaoka killer shack genny and I wanted to chase him off of it for a couple seconds. I hilariously thought "what if i teleport to the basement and grab him off the gen?"
So I teleported to the basement as a joke but I ended up getting discombobulated and couldn't find the stairs. I was really baked so that may have played a small role there but after 10 seconds I finally found the stairs and..uh..grabbed Steve off the generator. It was like 60% or something.
My question is, isn't Dredge super loud? Even with no Terror Radius it should be impossible to take anybody by surprise, right?
Nope. He has a 'squish' noise, but unless you've got a lullaby, or are playing Plague, most killers are a lot quieter than it sounds like from your POV.

Doctors kit in my opinion is completely fine it just needs number buffs literally
I'd rather see killer-side validation on shocks, so they can actually do what they are supposed to do reliably.
Numbers wise...he needs some addons tweaked (and one or two baked in), but that's true of a lot of killers.

Dang, this is all really helpful advice i appreciate that fellas. The windows of opportunity i should have been using to learn looping. I just started about a week ago and i am absolute garbage at survivor. Good looking out
I'm becoming a decent survivor, and I doubt I'll ever drop WOO. Simply knowing whether a pallet is there or not is game changing.

- No, that's not "the commonly accepted definition", it's just one of multiple definitions. I've seen plenty of people use the word "tunneling" to refer to simply ignoring bodyblockers to chase an injured person, for instance.
- Also, even using the definition you are, there's absolutely nothing wrong with focusing one player out of the game.
- I agree, that post was really long, no doubt. I'm personally not one to cast stones about that, though, I've certainly made my own fair share of long posts. 🤷♂️
As a wise man once said: "I'm a man of few words". Then he left the stage.

sigh
i never said he wasnt widely played or you or anyone else didnt face a bunch of camping bubbas. So im going to ignore that as once again you bring nonsense into this discussion.
Yes, that's what tunneling is. There's no special pleading for 'it was late game'. If I camp someone out at EOGC, I'm still camping them out. Now, again, you could say 'well, it's fine to camp and tunnel if it's necessary', but again - that's not what you said. Just because you are starving, doesn't mean you aren't eating the puppy.
If you are allergic to pine trees, do you tell people you are allergic to Trees? or do you tell them you are allergic to pine trees?
Pine trees are Trees but when you are referencing a SPECIFIC type of tree you use a more precise term. This is fundamental to language.
In the case of DBD, you and I both know that not all types of tunneling is bad, but all tunneling is grouped under one label and tunneling is overwhelming viewed negatively when it should only be one particular type.
Therefore, because when we communicate you want to be clear what you are communicating we need
- tunneling to SPECIFICALLY refer to the early game forcing someone out OR we need to use a DIFFERENT term to refer to the Ok types of tunneling instead of using one single term for multiple different things. EGC "tunneling IS different that early game "tunneling".
- proxy camping isnt just called camping is it? its called proxy camping because its different from face camping. and my argument was by definition it is not camping, assuming you actually leave the hook irregardless of whether you return to the hook later.
If you are going to continue to shoehorn irrelevant things into your replies in an attempt to discredit my statements or whatever your trying to do, please dont bother replying.
Yeah, going to call this here. We're going in circles.

- Words have meanings but some words like "tunneling" have very different and sometimes wildly ambiguous ones. You say "nobody reasonable will complain about focusing someone out" but I have yet to see a complaint that isn't exactly that in after game chat. Also I fail to see how a Nurse "tunneling people out" is unsportsmanlike, let alone what you even mean in this context when you say "tunneling them out". Do you mean the Nurse keeps chasing someone she hit to down them? Hooking the same person twice in a row? None of that is unfair or unsportsmanlike.
- In his post he literally said "proxy camping is not camping and is a 100% good and viable strategy." He was explicitly saying there are people who claim that proxy camping isn't fair.
- Yes. Note 'reasonable'. The commonly accepted definition of tunneling is focusing one player out of the game, exclusively.
- His post was super long and meandering, in my defense.

I cant seem to figure out how to deal with him. For me, doing absolutely anything other than sitting in a corner during the darkening ability is suicide. And he always seems to know where I am at all times. What have you guys found to make him easier to deal with?
To add onto what people have said:
- Lock a locker if you're working on that gen. Otherwise, don't.
- Spinechill is amazing against him.
- You can deactivate his remnant by touching it. If you see him poop one out though, it's generally better to leave that loop (he loses a lot of time maintaining it).
- Do not hide in lockers during Nightfall.
- During Nightfall, it's generally better to hold W than looping, unless you are very confident in your map knowledge.
- Always, always heal people ASAP.
- Basically, loop him until he poops a fragment (he's an M1 killer), then move to the next loop.
@THE_Crazy_Hyena said:
Well, his perk that reveals you whenever you are 8 meters away from a locker, whenever he searches one could be one thing. The locker locations are not really balanced around the Dredge, so he is very difficult to face right now.
Eh. Some maps are really good for him. Others have very few lockers in decent positions, and are really bad for him.

Many people agree with you hag is possibly the most dull killer to play against hags won't chase you and if you get downed you'll probably just get one hooked from all the traps they place around you
I'd rather face a camping Hag than a Knockout Hag. You can actually do something against a camping Hag (just crouch over to unhook), then bodyblock the swipe if she teleports in.
I'd also rather face a camping Hag than a camping Bubba, Ghostface, Trickster or Myers.
That all said - you've never played against my Hag :). I don't camp, but you won't find a structure without a trap in it.
@InvadeGames said:
trapper and hag are territory killers which means they do best by....camping.
Hag...sort of. She can camp decently, but this either requires the survivors to be playing badly (a single BT negates it, if you crouch) or you to commit to a psychotic degree, and there are way better killers if you want to do that.
Trapper - no. Not unless you can get them into basement. A smart Trapper is more about putting traps preemptively where people will run when you chase, as he's 4.6. Hag can camp, but you can also play her as more of a roamer, and trap all the structures, loops and chokes you can, then chase people and watch chaos ensue.
I play a roaming Hag with a lot of success. She's been my main since I started, although likely replaced by Dredge soon.

Hostile is not my intention, sorry if you took it that way. i feel im matching your vibe.
I didnt say bubba was never played, so killer pick rates are irrelevant. this does seem to be something you keep going back to. bringing up things that are irrelevant to the conversation. the facts are regardless of whatever pick rate you want to advertise, he is one of the rarest killers i see in my games. Pick rate doesnt change that. Pick rate doesnt change that the bubbas i see majority dont hard camp.
And maybe its different for you, but if i am going to communicate, it should be rather obvious that i will communicate based off my own experiences and not based off someone i dont know and have no experiences with.
In none of my posts have i stated that other people do not get camped by bubba. i have gotten camped myself by bubba. There is no point in you talking if you keep trying to add things in that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.
"Tunneling does NOT exist when 3 gens have been done. when there are 2 gens done the killer needs to get outs.(and 3 gens are often done in the first few mins depending on a few variables)"
If i am to be charitable, i will assume you are aware that the "tunneling" is most commonly defined as (as i have seen define on the forums and YT videos) focusing solely on one player and ignoring everyone else till you have them out of the game. this being in all of the most "official" descriptions of this i have seen is when this at the start of the game meaning a player gets out of the game "early".
You can surely not in any good faith say eliminating a player after the game is over 50% finished is "Early"
But if you are going to try and shoehorn that tunneling is whenever you down the same person 2x in a row I cant take anything you say seriously. There is no Dictionary definition of dbd tunneling unlike the definition of camping which you (or someone else) claimed i arbitrarily defined camping when i used the ACTUAL definition of video game related camping, and so Dbd Tunneling relies on colloqiualism and unofficial definitions and as such if you want productive conversation the term needs to be defined as to what it means and not used as some big abstract term that has wildy different impacts and "toxicity" depending on the situation in which this action takes place.
Which is what should have been obvious in my post. If that wasnt the case, then i apologize for not framing my post better.
If we want to define what tunneling is and use it to refer to the ACTUAL negative aspect of gameplay then that needs to be stated in the post, which is what I did.
I am not interested in discussing anything else with you as you appear to be set on adding irrelevant aspects into a conversation.
Okay. Let's go point by point.
I'm saying that Bubba is widely played, and frequently facecamps to the extent that he's frequently memed for it. Your experience is not the wider experience here.
You can't say 'you aren't being camped' when people are being camped.
You can say 'I'm not being camped'.
But that's not what you said.
No, again - see - you're the one being hostile here. Why are you trying to put words in my mouth? Yes, all definitions are common usage. I don't see your point here.
No, you never said that. You said 'you aren't being tunneled', then you said 'well, I define tunneling as something that can only happen, by definition, under specific conditions'.

@Vampwire said:
His anti-loop really makes no sense. You charge the shock, hit them, they're paralysed for 2.5 seconds but then you also slow down enough that you can't really make it to them in time. I've tried multiple strategies to make the shocks work. I've tried to not spam shock and time it right. Doesn't really work. Spam shocks just slow you down and do nothing. These were all on pretty standard loops I should add.
Every-time I would do this, I'd be just far away enough to miss. And it seemed like the only way to really utilize his power was when survivors were greedy and I was already on their ass. It's just so counter intuitive.
The delay as well is weird. I understand why it exists. It makes it so you cant just instant shock when they reach the pallet. But I also feel that's the way it should be. You already have to charge it. I wouldn't entirely remove it but it should be a bit faster.
Static blast also sucks. You have to do it like 3 times to put someone in tier 3. But the cool-down is a minute. Sure, it's good for finding survivors and potentially delaying the game. But Legion does the same in just a couple of seconds, with the potential to get a down from it. As well with not having to wait so long.
I love the idea of his character and his design. I just can't take him seriously. If anything he's a nuisance. And playing him feels like a waste of time. I wish he was the intimidating mad man he is in the lore.
He's...okay.
You can't use his power as a traditional anti-loop. Mostly, you want to trap someone on the wrong side of a vault or a pallet, but it's very latency dependent (one of the few things in the game with no validation).
However, his addons are solid, his Blast is one of the best sonar tools in the game and he always seems to tilt the hell out of survivors too.
Low B/High C. Needs help, but others need it more.

Tired of these types of challenges but here goes another one. These frustrate me because i cant find a way to safely follow a killer for 60 seconds. Anyone have any advice?
Just...keep at it. A good idea (but a bit mean) is to do a gen with someone, running Spinechill. Hide when the killer approaches.

In the anniversary stream it is mentioned that players who have leveled up without prestige would be rewarded with prestige levels when the update came out, my question is, will these levels count towards tier 3 rewards?
Thanks in advance :)
From how I understand it, it depends on how many perks you have unlocked on each killer. If you have all the possible perks unlocked, you get a Prestige.
I could be wrong though.

I'll tunnel if I have to. But I won't go in to be nasty just because someone was nasty to me in the previous game. That's letting them win.
