You'll be happy to know I'm going one less.
Side note. The lobby just baited me with a ton of flashlights and I equipped lightborn. A second before the lobby locked they switched off their flashlights.
I'm going to have such a blast.
Yeah...I hate it when people do that.
As an aside, if you're going Pop, replace PR with CoB when you get it. His amazing sustained mobility, pressure and information reliance makes CoB so, so good.
I'd also drop DR for Discordance when you get it.
Currently, I'm having a blast with a CoB/Pop/Discordance/Devour build. Defend the Devour totem and it's GG.

i was just playing a trapper match getting hsit =on then i turnt the game around and i belive the feng player crashed the server, but i got kicked out so how can i even report them, my internet is wokring everything else loads perfectly fine thats why i believe it to be malicious, how am i supposed to play this game with an already useless killer and then anytime i can pull back any sort of win (adept too) the server gets ddosed cause survivors are toxic shitheads who cant stand losing ever....
You probably didn't get DDOsed, as TSM said.
But...your only real option is a VPN. There are plenty of good ones with enough free data a month to easily play DbD. Other than that...not much.

In my opinion he is super balanced. Great design, great power, it really all comes down to which IRL player is better when it comes to the dredge. It's really all about prediction and timing with him, those type of killers are usually the balanced ones.
Demogorgan may also be another balanced killer on realease but I think I remeber him getting a nerf on his portals.
His perks are a little...meh, but yeah - Captain Cucumber is a pretty damn good killer.
Artist was also fantastic on release, but held back by boring addons.
@[Deleted User] said:
Yes. I think its design is really great. I've been playing dredge non-stop, it's just such a fun power to use.
I would make some minor miscellaneous changes though :
- Add locker priority logic information to the game. "If the Dredge teleports to a cluster of lockers, it will always teleport to the locked locker. If a survivor is hiding in one of the lockers, it will instead always teleport to that locker"
- Add killer instinct information to the game "When the Dredge teleports in nightfall, it will activate killer instinct 16 meters around the remnant for 3 seconds. It will also activate when the dredge is hiding a locker and will linger for 3 seconds after exiting."
I would not make any other changes right now.
Those aren't bad - but what the Dredge really needs is more map to map consistency in terms of locker spawns.

idk man, pity kills just don't feel good to receive, it's weird - I know killer mains who dominate the majority of their matches and give the hatch / doors to the last survivor but would absolutely never give a pity kill. I wish I could explain it but we all know it, giving pity kills just doesn't feel good for either side, and ontop of that survivors average 12 - 15K for a match they die in, but average 17 - 22K in a match they escape in, all because of the giant boost in BP from escaping, it feels good to give the survivor an extra 5 - 7K, I don't know how much a killer gets but they average way more than survivors and one extra kill at end game would net them 1 - 2K I think? I wish it felt better and I can't explain why it doesn't but it's fun to give survivors a hatch or doors but doesn't feel good for the killer or survivor to give them a kill.
I don't know. I certainly appreciate, and I've been thanked by (often absolutely astonished) killers when I do it.
Killers do lose out on a fair amount of BP for not killing everyone, actually - you get a decent bonus for killing everyone.

How is it one rule for me one rule for thee, I quite literally state that killers can do it as they please but in the grand scheme of things they don't HAVE to tunnel to win, survivors HAVE to do gens to win.
Killers can get kills without tunneling, there is no other way for survivors to do gens besides literally sitting on them.
Yeah, you're missing my point.
Survivors aren't just supposed to 'do gens'. They are supposed to do gens *as fast as possible*, because it's a race between them doing gens and the killer trying to wipe them out. Thus, killers counteract this by removing a player as fast as possible.
Now, I'll try not to do this as far as possible, but sometimes - when you think it's an SWF and it's a bad map - you gotta do what you gotta do, because if you don't go claws out from the get go, you're going to get stomped.
One thing I will say is that, as someone who plays both sides evenly, I frequently see killers 'ease up' when they have control of the game, and there is even a subtle assumption that the killer will let the last survivor get hatch as a gesture of sportsmanship. I know that I get complained at enough when I don't. Although, hell, I get complained at when I do at times too.
On the other hand, in about 800 hours, I've had two survivors, total, give me a 'pity kill' on a game where I didn't get any.
Something tells me that there's a double standard at play here, but that's a different discussion.

Like, I do play killer, not very often anymore though because I much prefer hanging out in chat with friends or whatever but for me there is nothing a survivor can do to bother me and that's where my mentality comes from.
My understanding is that, survivors are a 'team' and they're supposed to collectively try and escape together, and there is no possible way for survivors to do that without doing gens, and on the killer side they're absolutely supposed to kill survivors and can do that how they please but they don't have to tunnel to win whereas survivors HAVE to do gens to win, and nothing really bothers me on the survivors side either but yea I got annoyed because 4 survivors brought in flans to an event and the killer brings in a mori and relentlessly tunnels this solo player out of their FIRST match of the event, I think it would leave anyone sour honestly.
'One rule for me, one rule for thee'.
Killing one person ASAP is the optimal way for the killer to win in many circumstances. Much like slamming out gens as fast as they can and avoiding unnecessary chases and hooks is the optimal way for the survivors to win. Yes, it's possible to win without these things, but - in a tough game, it can be bloody unlikely.
You don't get to be salty about getting tunneled with a mori if killers aren't allowed to be salty about having people show up with 4x BNP, a map offering and a PTS squad.

Bro I type GG in end game chat and get the killer spewing garbage at me for saying it because it "wasn't a real gg". Literally can't win whether you're 'nice' or not.
and my apologies, I hadn't read this 10 year old article.
It's fine, there's no shame in being wrong, only in not admitting it.
Also - yeah, I find that really, really hard to believe. You can't suddenly switch tack from 'I teabag everyone' to 'no, I'm really mannered, trust me'.

You think people get benched and fined for not shaking hands with people? Lmao, I'd love to see the line in any rulebook for that one personally.
I t-bag survivors, I t-bag killers, I t-bag and drop an item for people, i do a lil t-bag on the way out, I guess I'm metaphorically spitting on peoples faces, lol.
Never said "it's the internet" get over it, I'm a pretty big advocate for being friendly to people but t-bagging is literally just nothing to me it means nothing when someone does it, if you genuinely think people that t-bag in dbd would jump at the chance of spitting on your face which is vile then idk man, you're probably looking way too deep into something.
Tell me you don't follow my sports without telling me you don't follow my sports.
Until COVID, you'd most certainly be benched from our Cricket team for poor sportsmanship. Any postgame insults and nastiness would get you yeeted from our Rugby team or get a team imposed fine instantly.
About the only sports I can think of offhand that lack this tradition are Hockey, but that's more to do with logistics. Even FIFA were considering making postgame handshakes mandatory, pre COVID.
Call for players in professional sports leagues like NHL, NFL, FIFA to be better role models by showing respect for opposing players.Hell, our kendo squad...if you refused to bow after the match, even if you got a good smack to the noggin, you'd likely be off the team. Word one.
As someone smart once said 'play hard during the match, but you shake hands after the game, not just to show respect for the efforts of your opponent, but for the game itself'.
Hell, even in the SC2 proscene, you're expected to type 'GG' and leaving without this would at the very least get you forced into a public apology.
And yes. I really do think that. Because how you treat other people when you have anonymity plus zero recourse from them is one of the biggest indicators of who you are as a person.

....what....??? have you even played Sadako?
her demanifest (M2) makes her stealth up until a certain range.....sort of like every other stealth killer. No killer is 100% stealth.
I've been in lockers when stealthed Sadako walked by, you don't get the sound alert and she bleeps in and out fast.
Please don't comment unless you've actually played her
I've played her extensively, planned on maining her for a while until I realized that I wasn't doing it wrong, she's just...bad.
The point of my silly analogy is that she's barely a stealth killer, because all she really gets is crappy phasing. Hell, Pig, Hag or VM Myers with Monitor are more consistently 'stealthy' than she is.
The actual stealth aspect rarely comes into play with any consistency, as by the time you're close enough to start approaching your lullaby has given you away, and if it doesn't they can see you a fair ways away, even with the addon that reduces it.
All she really has going for her is sustained mobility, which itself is gimmicky and RNG reliant.

This is so warped that you compare t-bagging to having bodily fluids slung at you lmao, I can't believe this community it's embarrassing.
/eyeroll.
Or...slaps your hand away? Take your choice of bad sportsmanship after a match examples.
The point is that refusing to shake hands after a match alone would probably get you benched and fined IRL. Maybe it's because I'm old, but I've never understood why 'it's the internet' automatically means that all sportsmanship goes out the window, and that you are somehow deficient for not being okay with it.

Some of my favorite less popular perks are
- Bloodhound. Sure, you can see blood without it, but it’s almost impossible to miss seeing blood with it. And since it makes the trails last a few seconds long it effectively increases the potential detection range of the perk. You get a similar effect of tracking injured survivors as you do with Nurse’s Calling, only you are trading off the more precise aura ping for extremely easy to follow blood trails that work even when the survivor is crouching or protected by an aura hiding effect like Distortion or Shadowstep or Haddie’s new perk that can blind killers. It really is just a nice feature if you like to focus on chasing down injured survivors.
- Deerstalker. This certainly isn’t a “top tier” perk or anything, but in terms of a quality of life effect it’s really great when you often like to slug for pressure (which I do). Ever slugged a survivor, chased someone else, and then went back and spent 15 seconds trying to find them because they crawled into a bush or you accidentally misremembered where you downed them (or both)? Or had a survivor that for whatever reason makes no noise on the ground and just lies in a bush completely silent? Well with Deerstalker that’s all completely gone (unless there’s a Shadowstep nearby or something). Plus seeing their aura indirectly helps you keep an eye out for other survivors coming toward that spot for a revive. So it saves a bit of time off the clock and just takes out those little annoying situations when you slug and makes it feel smoother and … well, more fun! 😄 (It’s even more fun for the slugged survivors since you will never accidentally not be able to find that last survivor you dropped 45 seconds ago and end up bleeding out because you have no idea where they are.)
- Unrelenting - This is a perk that, if you play perfectly and never miss a swing, will do literally nothing for you. I, however, am not perfect, I am a klutz who gets juked by jigging survivors more often than I like. But if I’m using a mostly basic attack killer, and I whiff, I definitely notice the difference in how much distance they gain on me between using Unrelenting and not. There have definitely been times I ran this perk that I missed an attack and managed to hit a follow-up before they could get to safety that they would have gotten to a pallet or vault without it. This perk is also on one of my “most fun” builds for Demogorgon, which uses Unrelenting, Save the Best for Last, an add-on that makes Shred misses or hits recover more quickly, and the yellow add-on that makes Shredding a pallet recover very quickly. That Demo loadout is hilarious, you can swing for the fences and Shred pallets all day and hit or miss or pallet break you stay on their tail. So yeah, not needed for people who never miss, but pretty fun for spazzy fingered killers like me. 🙂
- Dying Light - This is a perk I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing get a bit of a buff to remove the bonus the Obsession gets for you having it, but even with that I’ve had a lot of fun using this in combination with Save the Best for Last and Dark Devotion. Basically if I chase the Obsession I can hit them once and break off to Undetectably go after someone else. And if I chase someone else I gain STBFL tokens and Dying Light tokens for hooking them. As long as I can apply some pressure early on to give myself time to build up some Dying Light tokens it’s a fun little combo. (Sometimes I’ll throw Play With Your Food in there as well to make those chases after applying Dark Devotion even better!)
Dying Light and Unrelenting are both almost good perks, that just need some numbers buffs. I'd probably run Unrelenting on Hag if the number was a tad higher.

Why do you keep saying "numb" some people just aren't bothered by like little characters bobbing up and down, it's so incredibly insignificant I can't fathom trying to be this offended all the time it must be exhausting.
Do you think everything annoys everyone and only people who aren't annoyed by things as little as this have just experienced it so much that they're "numb" to it? jfc dude it's people pressing ctrl on a keyboard or a button on their controller, it isn't as deep as you want it to be,
Because meaning is based on common consensus, and teabagging at the end of the game is the equivalent to your opponent at the end of a hard fought rugby game spitting in your face and calling you a loser, rather than shaking your hand.

There's one thing that should have autobans, but they shouldn't even require a report: People saying stuff that's already bannable in chat.
There's already a system ****ing chat messages. Don't even need some fancy and clever system trying to see context or whatever, I don't think that's very relevant if someone just straight up says the n-word or to off themselves. Just instantly apply the punishment they'd get for that behavior if reported + punished the old fashioned way.
For basically anything else it's not a good idea without some kinda wacky "cleverness" that I really don't want to leave in the hands of an automated system.
Ever since I got a 7 day ban in another game for a literal typo (tried to type ' Wow, that's big, look', and it turned into a racial slur), or saw major streamers in WoW getting folks chat banned via weaponized mass reporting, I don't want any sort of automated bans for language.

One reason an auto-ban driven by the players is a very bad idea.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PXU9UDPW96A4/image.png
I was pitted against players in the 30 to 200 hours range (against my ~2.5k hours). It was my last game of the night and I had been pretty sadistic during the whole session (it was hilarious) so this time I wanted to be nice and let them get out with only two hooks each.
Noise, crows, marks, failed checks, entering lockers in front of the killer or right on the other wall : they did everything you expect from their level of experience and couldn't manage a single gen. They didn't even manage to save the second hook twice.
In the end I left the last two to their own devices and went to prepare for bed.
When I came back I had an unexpected message.
Firstly, why be nasty to people? Especially when you know that they are outmatched?
Like...would you like to be on the other end of this, and do you think that's healthy for the state of the game, at a time when a lot of newer people are going to be playing?
Secondly, who suggested a player based auto-ban? I don't think I've ever seen this even asked for?
Thirdly...if you're going to go out of your way to be nasty to people, at least bring a damn flan.

Earlier today, I hooked a Steve that I'd previously had some friendly interactions with - the only survivor I'd really done so with that match - right at the exit gate. The Feng in the gate left and the Yui tried to run. I downed Yui, brought her back to the hook, and dropped her until she wiggled off.
She ignored Steve and ran straight out again. There's just no reasoning with some people.
Yeah, this is why I don't 'farm' in the traditional sense. If I want to farm, instead I 2 hook and then hit to injure, letting people heal up and do gens at their own pace. I generally end up capped on most things, as do they.

And others are farming or playing chill. Personally, I'm 2-hooking teams that bring flan and killing the ones who don't.
Use your cakes now so you can buy more cakes. It's not like anything different will happen if you use them half a year from now - people not showing mercy is nothing new under the sun. But in those future games, you won't have 3 or 4 other flans in effect so that you rake in the bloodpoints even on lost games, and you won't have oodles more flan in the bloodweb. So unless you're going to go full "I'm not going to use my cakes because I don't want anyone to get extra bloodpoints if my opponents get more than me", you may as well keep going, you know?
This is literally what I'm doing. For every flan brought by the survivors, 1 of them survives. A full flan spread - I'll 2 hook you all and you'll get out.
However, there hasn't been a single day today where everyone has survived...step it up, survivors!

Anyone who can't recognize that Nurse is bonkers busted OP has no right to complain about SWF. Both are extremes and should be adjusted to better fit the current state of the game.
Honestly, unless it's a small tweak to some of her more batty addons, any nerfs to her kit would make her literally unplayable at lower MMRs. She already has the lowest gross kill rate.
What the Nurse needs is a complete, floor to ceiling redesign. She's...almost the worst of both worlds - crazy OP and crazy one dimensional/boring.

Not true at all. Nurse powers and swf are completely different topics it’s just irrelevant what-about-ism.
Players fail to outplay nurse because she can circumvent a number of the tools players use to outplay other killers. That doesn’t make her uncounterable though.
She’s only OP to the crowd who think there is one way to play the game and just can’t or won’t switch it up.
For anyone who struggles to play against a certain killer they should try playing that killer.
Eh...you can't talk about the balance of a killer without talking about SWF. This is why adding SWF to the game and having no systems to account for this matchmaking wise was a bad idea - because you can't balance around solos without making SWFs immortal, and balancing around SWFs makes it overly hard on solos.

The more you find, the more bloodpoints you get.
It's probably the glyphs, I know I earned a frankly silly amount in one game when I got all of them.

I always run Discordance, and had a SWF yesterday that popped one gen in the space between me starting moving towards them and reaching them, and popped all the gens in under 5 minutes...probably closer to 4. Was on Eyrie. As soon as I chased someone, the other 3 would jump on the gen and destroy it in the time it took me to down them. Would have been less had I not actually managed to hook one of them on the final gen.
4x fat toolboxes, 4 BNPs, two PTS (assumedly to ensure they always had one up if the other got chased).

Am I alone in this?
This event has brought out the worst in people.
Part of this is because matchmaking is more borked than my previous dog when another dog walked by, thanks to the playerbase doubling overnight, and a lot of 2000-5000 hour veterans coming back after a protracted break and starting out against very low MMR folks, plus a lot more lobby dodges and longer queues.

not both sides are clean of annoying people.
I never said they were. I'm saying that, from the perspective of a killer, you're going to get abused no matter what you do - so why shouldn't you just look after yourself?

Making my last post kind of pulled the last straw for me.
I've been constantly seeing responses here and there on forums about bloodpoints specifically in this anniversary event of wanting bloodpoints being entitled, and or selfish?
I don't get it, everyone wants bloodpoints... how is complaining about people not using a flan entitled/selfish in that matter? It's frustrating as someone could use it but choose not to, even if they don't know how the game could play out.
It's frustrating to see people think it's selfish or entitled when the subject of matter could just be flipped around to very easily make the one person who doesn't want to use a flan, look like the entitled or selfish one.
Am I alone in thinking this?
As I said to you in that thread, it's more that killers get cussed out and told they are horrible people no matter what they do. I let half a group go yesterday, and got pooped on in postgame for doing it, because apparently it's insulting. The game after that I killed one person, and got cussed out for not letting them live.
If killers are going to get insulted for killing anyone, and for not killing anyone - why shouldn't they just kill everyone and maximize their own BP gains?
Go ahead and tell me.

Don't let anyone go? You're a bad guy for not letting one person go.
Let more people go? You're a bad guy for not killing everyone and 'babying' survivors.
Why should killers try to be nice at all, if they are going to be abused no matter what they do?

They didn't even give them hatch, they closed it, and let them open the door.
If they're going to kill everyone, but one on the anniversary, where everyones wanting to get bloodpoints, letting just one person live is frustrating for the rest of us to see.
I'm also getting more frustrated with people saying it's entitled to want bloodpoints. Everyone wants bloodpoints, and saying we want bloodpoints isn't entitled! It's a commonly shared want that every wants, especially for the anniversary! It's not entitled or selfish, it's a frustrating game that I wanted to vent about.

See above.
It's frigging impossible to make survivors happy right now, as no matter what you do someone is going to get upset about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Dissolution is "top tier" necessarily, I'm just replying to someone who seems to be claiming it's a bad perk because it doesn't always consistently break pallets.
Also being map dependent isn't too big a deal. Bamboozle is kind of pointless on The Game but it's still a pretty decent perk overall for instance.
I'd hesitate to put it even at mid tier.
Bamboozle is more of an 'in case' perk. You run it on some killers in case you get sent to a map with one or two ridiculously broken vaults (Swamp logs) stupidly OP structures (Badham) or both (Cowshed). And even then, it helps directly in chase as that faster vault is nothing to sneeze at.
Dis...it saves a little bit of time here, and maybe turns a 30 second chase into a 25 second chase once or twice a game, on an ideal map. It often does nothing, because pallets generally aren't the big problem - it's safe pallets, in proximity to other safe pallets and vaults. Once a pallet is gone it's gone, but a vault is there forever, which is why Bamboozle is a thing and Dis likely will never be.

Dissolution isn't about breaking pallets, per se, it's about putting survivors in a position where they either fast vault a pallet but get hit anyway or don't fast vault and still probably get hit pretty easily. Forcing the survivor into a no-win situation where they get hit no matter what they do is a good place to be as killer, if they happen to choose the option that also removes a pallet in the process that's just a bonus.
The problem is that on some maps, by the time you've got them to drop said pallet you might as well have used another, better perk to end the chase sooner.
For example, a survivor runs me to the cow tree loop on Cowshed. I chase them around and around and eventually get them to throw the pallet. They then fast vault, break it and run away. I've saved...not all that much time at the end of the day, as opposed to running another chase perk like STBFL, or even PWYF.
It's pretty great on tighter loops or less safe pallets, but you can do other stuff there.
It's not a bad perk, but it's just not good enough for me to bump stuff like Discordance.

Lithe: Yes I do see it occasionally, it's an exhaustion perk after all. It needs some management as you need to use it when you want to leave the loop so you have to save the vault for last and that's really the one major downside. However, it can be super valuable to not just extend chase but actually end. It has also helped me book it to the exit gate in end game although I will admit Dead Hard is the better exit gate perk as it can make the difference between living and dying when you're solo & teammates don't take a protection hit.
Detectives Hunch: I run it on every survivor that has it unlocked! Genuinely one of the best perks in the game, I wish more people ran it as I'm hoping their meta game would be a little less abysmal...
Hex: The Third Seal: I understand this is hard countered by SWF. But not every Lobby is a four-stacked team and it still denies all aura reading perks like Windows of Opportunity.
Blood Echo: It's not meta but can be fun, especially against Resilience-Dead Hard Gamers.
Yeah, I've been running Lithe, in anticipation of the DH nerf. I really like it.

SWFs arnt and never have been a problem. THE problem with DBD is maps, and maps alone. SWFs power isn't communication. It's getting 4 people who know gen locations and are good loopers. So no chase is easy and takes way to long.
No, it's also communication. Being able to determine who comes and saves when, calling out the killer location, coordinating perks before the match, coordination of gens and timing, saves etc. That's a massive advantage.

It is the official soft cap.
Really?.. the guy that wins with no perks and 30s afk against people that only needed to hold down one button. I have watched OTZ and some of the survivors he gets are highly questionable.
Ayrun?!?! the guy that makes troll videos making killers look stupid and gets killers that fall down holes and still fall for dumb tech and CJ tech? Most of my grabs are from morons attempting cj tech. It's so obvious.
It is the hypothetical soft cap.
Yes - these are two of the best players in the world, so likely sitting right on that soft cap - and if you watch their videos, you'll see a lot of opponents that appear in multiple games. Generally other semi-pro players, streamers, tourney groups etc. The system is very clearly matching them against other extremely experienced players when it can.

There is no true high mmr. It is capped at 1700 where it potentially starts to mix people and then even that is thrown out the window if you get dodged or wait too long.
If we had a proper strict mmr then all they would get is nurse and blight because that is all that can realistically and consistently compete against experienced swf. Not even comp teams...
1700 is an arbitrary number, as we don't know how much we gain or lose per match. And you can watch top tier streamers like Otz and Ayrun - you'll see that they often face opponents they know. There is definitely a 'high MMR' bracket.
Yes, queue times and lobby dodges are a problem, and I wish they'd fix that.

For me it's Predator, perk simply increases the frequency of scratch marks left behind by sprinting survivors. I just feel like it could use some loving being the fact that I've only seen it used once or twice, besides the fact that out of Wraith's perks, the only one I've seen used more than others is Shadowborn by Huntress players.
Predator is terrible, sometimes even counterproductive. I wish it gave aura reading or something.
For me: Retribution and Lullaby. I love these perk in theory, but - as they are hexes - far too often they get booned or cleansed before they can do anything. I'd love these to just be made passive (and no, this has nothing to do with my Plaything/Retribution/Pentimento build).

so idk why people think killers camping running strong sweaty builds is bad. lets be real, if the survivors are playing for points that means they arent being stupid giving you easy downs, they are actually doing objectives and their objective means the killer loses. its a 50 50, survs will play the cakes and try their best to win because survivor is harder to get max points and because people are sweating the killer has to sweat to get his points. there is nothing wrong with wanting to win, if a survivor team or even a bunch of solos all bring some cake... ill mercilessly kill them even if 5 gens are left if they let me kill them i will. same with if a killer lets survivors win, the survivors will win. i guarantee most survivors wont wipe the floor with the killer and then let the killer farm. why do you expect killers to not just destroy you to the best of their ability? lets be real neither side just goes easy very often. ive given plenty of bad killers free kills because matchmaking screwed them over and i let certain adorable survivors live, but thats the extent of it. not everyone wants to play for points and thats ok. its not toxic to try and win even with an event
My policy has become:
- Go in hard from the get go.
- Establish control of the game, generally by getting everyone on their death hooks (yeah, I did a personal challenge earlier this year that became a habit) or just kill someone.
- Once I've got control of the game, I can then ease up if I want to.
But, unless they are being butts, I do like it when survivors end up with a decent amount of BP and their pip, as - far too often when I play survivor - I get tunneled, slugged or camped out super early, and earn nothing.

Then SWF isn't the issue, but MMR is.
Sort of. It was a million times worse under ranks.
The core problem is that SWF adds another RNG element to the mix - and should really be taken care of by MMR (matching you against a higher MMR killer, proportional to the size of your group).
Facing a solo survivor and facing that same survivor in an organized group is night and day.
@Zozzy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005670#Comment_3005670
They won't do true mmr because they know all SWF will get is Blight and nurse. They will get bored and not spend money or quit.
I'm certainly not top MMR, but I watch a lot of streamers that are, and they get - in addition to Blight and Nurse - a ton of Huntresses, a good few Spirits, the odd Billy, the occasional Artists and Bubbas and every so often a Plague, a Demo, a Doctor or an Oni.
But that's...high MMR in any game. The higher you get, the more ossified the meta becomes - because to get that high, you need to do both what's optimal, and counter what is optimal for the other side.
It's not going to be fixed by relaxing MMR - it's going to be fixed by giving Blight and Nurse a slight nerf to some of their addons, and buffing a lot of lower tier killers.

That's just mmr that puts you with survivors that think it's 2017 when urban was meta. Plus that ain't toxic btw, but it's annoying as #########
Solo queue is annoying sometimes, but I've also been paired with utter champions that carry me. You get what you get.

People want to play this game with there friends, cross platform came out so other people can play with their friends on differnt platforms. Bhvr would loose so much money getting rid of SWF, and I don't see why people care about going against them. Swf for the most part are fun to go against because you know everyone is on mic and you can show off, and obliterate them.
The main reason people hate SWF is cause of mic, and I get that, but how much does that really help? If a guy in a friend group runs you around the whole time it's because he's good, not because he's in a SWF. Most of the time SWF (ussally 4 man) intentionally try to be toxic, and you can take advantage of that because toxicity leads to stupid plays.
Overall SWF will not be removed, ever. Money is a huge factor in that. When people look at a game they look for "cross platform multiplayer" and things like that. If that isn't an option that buyer will skip the game and move onto the next.
Also, I would like to hear some reasons killer mains hate SWF, just generally I would like to understand that more.
SWF isn't a problem. People just lobby shopped previously.
The problem is that the system doesn't account for SWF. Other companies had premades get an inflated MMR proportional to the size of the party, which paired them with more dangerous opponents to compensate.
DbD has no such system, if you group with your friends, you're facing the same killer you'd face solo, but with the additional benefit of coordination. Then you end up with an inflated MMR, get pantsed when you play solo again and come to the forums to complain about how OP killers are.
You have 3 sides to balance. This means that balance is even more impossible. For killers to stand a chance against coordinated groups, they need to be strong enough to melt solo players. If killers were nerfed to be more manageable for solos, then they'd get stomped by premades.
I'm a fan of the MMR option, but...
The devs seem to want a different route - trying to buff solo queue to the level of SWF, and then buffing killers to compensate. It's going to be a...wild ride.

It sucks that events like these prove so divisive. I don't really try to do the events myself, but these survivors were pretty unreasonable IMO. I'm all for letting people play how they want. I think it's up to the devs to give players options so their playstyles (casual vs competitive) aren't in conflict with one another.
Blizzard tried this in Starcraft 2. It was...sadly, a disaster. All that would happen is pro players coming over to Unranked to crush newbies to unwind, and if you wanted a decent game at your skill level, starting out, Ranked was ironically the better option than the 'casual' mode.

My favourite is darkness revealed for sure. If bbq ends up losing the bp bonus i think i will use darkness revealed instead. You can use anytime, including at the start of the match as a lite lethal pursuer and when you just cant find anyone you can try using the perk. It's nice.
Discordance. Trust me on this.
DR is...eh. I'll use it on Trickster and Huntress with Iron Maiden, otherwise - 8ft is really close, and on a lot of maps there aren't many lockers, or there are no lockers near most of the gens.

All of them enable interesting new playstyles and work really well overall. Especially dissolution is my new favorite perk on Killers like Clown, Doc or Legion. Makes these Killers actually FUN to play.
10/10 chapter tbh
Hope really dead hard will be more fair cuz that is the only thing imo that makes these weaker Killers really frustrating.
Really? I love Dredge to bits (he's likely going to join Artist, Demo and Hag as my mains) but I think his perks are...pretty mediocre.
DR - very RNG, will often show you nothing at all, and the cooldown is more punishing than you think.
Dis - It's...fine, but it locks you out of certain killers (ironically, it's pretty bad on Dredge), addons and perks, most of which I really like.
ST - Sucks. Very situational. 10 seconds is almost nothing, and I've tried to make it work on Legion, using Nurse's (about the best user I can think of).

Yep. Been here before in the exact same scenario. It's rare, but it happens where you can play a normal game, spare people at the end, and they get pissy about the sparing. It's literally impossible to please Schrodinger's survivor. Everyone wants something different. The only solution is to just do whatever you want, because playing to please someone else just does not work.
My policy this event has been to spare as long as the survivors aren't rude, and if they brought more than one flan. If they don't bring me bloodpoints, then I'm playing on regular match rules (and I need to keep my MMR up or else it'll just be solid newbies eventually.) So I probably wouldn't have spared that group on two counts, they clearly didn't come into the game looking to make nice, but if you can find it in your heart, all the more power to you.
(Love Amanda's Letter Pig, btw. Such an underrated build. Fun as hell to sneak up on people and come swinging from around a corner.)
Aura reading is my favorite thing in this game. I love to chase, and I hate losing people/when they hide - so my ultimate 'fun' builds are Letter Pig and VM Myers (with Monitor and Rabbit). Just so, so much fun.

I would be angry that they didn't bring flans so just hard tunnel and facecamp them... Well I never seen survivor being angry that you let them go but I quess some are like that but if they just teabag and flaslight click at you just kill them. But normally when I let them go survivors has shown me at least respect giving me their item while they leave so you just have to see in the match what kind of survivors they are how they act. I gotten also messages gg and thank's from them.
Eh, it's a personal thing. I'm trying to teach myself not to tilt when people are BM, so I've made it a pledge that I'll play the same against a BM survivor as I would against a regular survivor.

Ive seen so many posts here calling out killers for tryharding but honestly any time im obviously being friendly in this event i get a group of moon walking tea bagging flashlight spamming tryhards emboldened because im trying to relax. Its happened way too many times. From now on in this event if i see a flashlight in your hand im tunneling you the entire game. I dont care if everyone else escapes but you.
Yeah I posted this in another thread, but it does bear repeating.
Killers...just can't win.
I mean, I've been groused at by survivors for killing them (hell, the game before this one I got cussed out for killing one person and letting three go on their final hook) and as you see here, I get groused at for letting survivors escape on their death hooks.
When I play survivor, I sometimes get salt for 'genrushing' or 'playing OP perks' (yes, because WOO, Lithe, BT and Spinechill is such an OP combination) but I'll generally try to give a non-camping killer a mercy kill if they get none, and I've only ever been thanked.

So, so tired of this meme.
Look, if you want to boop on your last hook when I have you cornered, I may let you go.
May.
But far too often, this results in someone booping when I catch them after my first chase, with 2 gens popping in the background, upon which they immediately rage DC and cuss me out in postgame for being sweaty.
