  • The devs should focus on fixing and balancing the game as a priority and put additional chapters and cosmetics as secondary projects.
  • If I may toot my own horn here, I'm a pretty good hag player and I post regularly on YT :)

Dunno about God-tier, but I've been called Hag Jesus before lol
  • So many Hag mains.. this makes me happy :)

I don't think he needs mlga to do so tho. He just loads into a match, checks recent players and if he sees that he blocked the Killer on Steam he just simply DCs

  • I actually think his better addons will get nerfed. He's already weak. It's his addons that make him actually threatening... and only one addon that does it.

  • Added the video for funsies.

  • Just finished a 42 minute match....

  • I'm at work so I can't watch this, I might have made something similar... The devs need to wake up.

  • I did a quest to rank 1 from 15 and posted every match. I think the results are on the description of the last video :)

  • I'd like to point out that in all of Tru3's videos that he's put up. The largest map he's won on was the Family Residence and Groaning Storehouse. Both tied for the 8th smallest maps at 9,984 m2 out of 25 maps.

Maps any larger than that are not showcased in his "positive outcome" videos. I would be very interested to see how many matches he actually played as legion even with his "best perk" setup and see how well it does on the larger maps and against better survivors.

I'd be willing to bet that the win/loss ratio might show that even with the "best setup" legion cannot win the majority of his matches even when played by a skilled killer.

  • I don't really like them. They're very "War of the Worlds".

I'd love to see a reskin of all prestiges to look more like how the hook looks in the first hook stage when the entity appears to be burning into existence.

I wonder if DCs we're counted as "kills" by the person making the chart.

This isn't what the graph was even looking at, it was looking at people leaving via hatch and door, not the amount of people the killer didn't kill, lol.

I wonder what the rates were like separated by system.
What do you mean b this?

I wonder what the survival rate is for 2, 3 , and 4-man SWF groups.
I'm assuming they still fell into the graph, and if 2/3/4 man SWFs are still in the "less thatn 50%" category (everyone was btw) then it's safe to assume swf isn't the untouchable gods the forum killers paint them out to be.

I wonder what the chart would look like if they looked at total hours played instead of rank.
Why does this matter? Every killer main on the forums speculates that survivors are op and amount of hours wouldn't matter. I've seen bad players escape, I've seen good killers escape, it doesn't take into account really good survivors that die or really good killers that do poorly because it's bound to happen and probably balances each other out in the end.

Lets be honest, if this graph fitted your narrative you wouldn't have even made a post of "what ifs".

If a survivor doesn't escape, they've probably left the game through death or DC. The chart is still affected by that information.

Separated by system: PC .XBOX PS4

No data should be "Assumed" when looking at a chart like this. SWF data was not presented separately and clearly, so nothing can be said about it. Of course SWF groups are beatable... The data would show how much higher their survival rates are compared to solo. Further proving the need for stronger tools to use against groups.

Hours: Experience counts towards escape and kill rates. Their rank system isn't good at separating skilled players from unskilled players. Hours might be a more accurate measurement to campare escape rates to.
  • Just allow a DS user to be hit with one extra hook stage after using it. This solves the problem killers have with the time crunch and still allows DS to be used in clutch situations.

Survivor gets a free escape, killers get the hook they lost, and the game goes on like normal.

DS is still very strong, but has a large downside.

Hag is pretty good problem is that she is a defensive killer, you pretty much put traps around things you want to defend like totems, hooked survivors, generators. In many regards she is a camping killer, you do need detection perks like whispers and bbq to be effective with her.

and why is that a problem?

sometimes it's not fun to just keep putting traps around totems and gens hoping they spring them. She's entirely reliant on survivors to make mistakes and to be altruistic or totem hungry. Hag is like my 2nd most played killer but I have the least fun with her since each match is I get a trap on my ruin, down a survivor, trap survivor, then just watch them fall like dominos, or they bust ruin quick, gen rush, I might get 1 survivor tunnel killed, then I get a 1-2k from noed and these games last less than 3 mins.

You don't have to play her defensively if you don't want to. I hate playing defensively also so I taught myself how to be aggressive with her.

It's more difficult, but much more satisfying to truly hunt survivors down.

I don't use Ruin or NOED at all and I do just fine.

Consider it a challenge for yourself to play an aggressive Hag if you don't like playing defensively.

This video might help show how I personally play Hag. In this map I like isolating the game to one side in order to chase cha use traps effectively.

You act like you have no choice in the matter. You can choose not to be a selfish prick you know? No one forced you to do anything.

The devs forced me to play survivor to get all 60 vials. I can't get all 60 available by playing my favorite role.

    And name-calling is unnecessary.

But bloodpoints are shared between Killer and Survivor. So technically you can play Survivor and still earn a lot of bloodpoints for your Killers.

Not if I suck at the survivor role...

  • I NEVER play survivor. But in 24 matches I got 9 vials. If you optimize vials you'll get them just fine.
Find a plant harvest. Killer pulls you off? Die on the hook and move on to the next match.

Killer waits for me to finish? Crouch thank and let them get theirs. Maybe go for gens and try to escape but die on second hook and move on.

I think I'll be able to finish the survivor side soon ish and then get the rest as killer which should be much faster.

I mentioned in the OP that it was by omission.

  • What if the leakable files had killers with glowing eyes of a different color and then all of a sudden we get the event as it is? The good skins announced as new halloween themed store cosmetics and that we're allowed to earn one for free.

This might have been a better marketing strategy to help build good will instead of being silent while people were building their expectations based on past holiday events.

Is it hard to say that they will be offered at the market when people assume it will be like another event? Worse part is they even didn't say that on twitch when explaining the event at the start? We found out that in the middle of the stream.

Did you notice that they never addressed the chat when there was still confusion about their statement? Yea, they knew what they did was crappy and didn't want to let it take over the stream so they ignored it all.

Even now with all the threads they're silent. The only explanation I saw was from not_queen and even that was simply marketing spin.

Just like past events, you get 2 to 5 cosmetics for free.
And these aren't just reskins either. And this event isn't just "Get coins" either, more has been prepared.

Those who tricked their own minds into thinking: "ALL OF THIS FOR FREE?!" and then being disappointed by the actual announcement, i can't sympathize with.

The Nurse Chapter and Left Behind (Bill) were free chapters, so it's not so crazy to think that they'd allow a holiday event to be free as well.

I don’t think these people realize that no money=no game, the devs could pull the plug on this game and there isn’t a thing anyone would be able to do about it but if we spend money on the game we’re ensuring it stays alive

Yes, they need to create a holiday event and charge for the majority of skins because they're a small studio and can barely afford to pay the bills. /s

Jesus Christ. The level of entitlement in this community is sickening. I'm all for "taking it to the man"... but it's goddamn cosmetics... and 3 free ones at that.

I got an idea, go whine to the devs of League of Legends and Fortnite (or any other developer that sells non-gameplay impacting, completely optional skins) for not receiving every set of glorious holiday skins for free. See how that pans out for you.

    Missing the point, but w/e.

I really think you should be able to get 6 cosmetics total. That way you can buy one survivor set and one killer set. Or you can skip out on the killer weapons and get like 6 total.

If you shell out, then you're supporting this kind of marketing... Christmas is coming up. Do you want them to do this again? Send them a message by not caving in. I certainly won't be buying these cosmetics.

  • BHVR annual revenue is estimated between 20 and 50 million dollars.

Yes, they need to create a holiday event and charge for the majority of skins because they're a small studio and can barely afford to pay the bills.

Why not create a completely free event thanking the players for their support over the past year? Maybe build some good will so people will opt to buy their other cosmetics instead of building animosity making some players (myself) dig in their heels and actively refusing to buy cosmetics?

The crux of the issue isn't the price of cosmetics, the availability of events, the quantity of event cosmetics, or whether to thank our lucky stars they are doing the event in the first place.... It's that the devs deliberately took what has traditionally been a free event for the players and monetized it. The skins are available indefinitely from the store making the achievement of unlocking them worthless.

Business is business and we can understand that. This is borderline predatory marketing, and a sign of what's to come if we continue to support this kind of behavior.

tbh, depending on how fast it takes to earn vials, I might want to buy the cosmetics by day 3. I can afford it, and I might want them all!             I understand that add-ons and offerings are a normal aspect of the game and these particular kinds of offerings and add-ons aren't very common at all to run into. As a previous killer main, I can definitely say I've used my add-ons and offerings with little to no reguard how it effects the survivor's abilities to escape or even do enough to not receive a loss.

However, I do believe it is unfair to have such a rushed circumstance where the only possible way of escape is never to be found by the killer or having the skill to run a killer for the duration of the game, bloodlust included and still not receive a win just because they're running mories or add-ons that apply the exposed status effect for pretty much the duration of the match. There's no amount of "getting good" that's going to beat that in 99% of cases if the killer is any good in terms of their skill and let's face it.

I've learned that this game is indeed a team game against a large foe that should require a lot of skill from either end to achieve victory. I like that it has that competitive aspect to it and I thoroughly enjoy it.

The part that I don't enjoy, just like any other survivor, is when you receive a loss because a killer is running such a powerful add-on or offering that will literally shift the entire outcome of the match so far in the killers favor that as I said, your only way out is to be excellent at juking at an above average ability and running the killer for so long that they can't do anything to the other survivors with the huge possibility that you'll be caught eventually and not escape or even do enough to win, or have to hide for the duration of the game and very very carefully and strategically coordinate as a team to avoid the killer at all times.

Which in both of those cases almost never happens unless the killer is terrible and you receive limited bloodpoints because you didn't get enough in boldness category because you spent the duration of the game hiding from the killer or didn't get very many bloodpoints in any category other than boldness because you spent almost the entire duration of the game running around with the killer.

They already have a large amount of perks that shift the game greatly in their favor, but it is honestly unfair to expect the survivors to survive against mories and exposed effects for the duration of the game.

So, the best course of action in my opinion is for the survivors to not receive a loss because they were unable to do enough in the very difficult situation that almost always guarentees win for the killer and loss for almost every survivor if not every survivor.

I also feel that if a survivor is indeed able to survive by opening the exit gates with one of these add-ons or offerings, they should be rewarded with bonus bloodpoints and should receive a win. I don't feel anything should be done to the killers as they did win the match just playing the game as it was intended therefore they should receive the usual things they'd receive for killing all 4 survivors.

I do hope you the community will stand and speak up on this to bring it to the attention of the developers and I thank you for reading and would love to receive feedback from other survivors on this topic.

  • I think you misquoted, but agree with me ;)

  • @Peanits said:
Ideal outcome is 2 dead 2 escaped, as mentioned on stream a whole bunch of times.

You don't want the game to be balanced just around feedback. Most people only play one side and so their feedback is super biased. I have seen some ridiculous suggestions that would be blatantly OP or unfun, and their creators stood by them stone faced a totally serious about them. Feedback is great for showing you where an issue is, but not necessarily how to fix it. If you listen solely to feedback, you're going to have a bad time.

DC bans have actually just been massively increased. You may have noticed a bunch of posts about it. They start at a week now.

Camping while no other survivors are near the hook will soon penalize your rank. This will (hopefully) mean that killers that camp with no reason stay in the low ranks while killers who only camp when it's necessary rank up to the high ranks. The emblem system as a whole is always being looked at and tweaked.

Hatch I would say is a matter of perspective. I don't mean to say that it couldn't be better, but if I already killed three, I couldn't care less if one person gets out. I already won. The suggestion I keep seeing about just letting the killer close the hatch is not a good idea since that would just force the survivor into a stalemate in which they hide around the map for half an hour because the second they touch a generator the killer will know exactly where they are.

"Killers are deliberately designed to be weak." is just straight up untrue. Not all killers may be crazy powerful when they launch, but they are absolutely not designed to be weak.

I'm okay with hexes. I think individual perks could be better, and some of the totem spots could be moved. But as a whole, I have no issue with the hex system.

The stun queue was an unintended consequence of a different change and was quickly reverted. I don't see a reason to bring that up now.

    Wall of answers.

2 kill 2 escapes is their declared outcome, not their definition of the ideal experience for either side. I'm curious about that.

If you ignore feedback or implement it half-heartedly, or implement irrelevant changes you aren't improving the situation, you exacerbate it. Balancing around SOUND feedback is necessary it's easy to spot bad suggestions and there are many more good ones. Listen to good feedback, especially those issues that are consistently repeated and you'll end up making good changes.

DC bans may have gone out, but that will not stop the DC problem. Keep note, you'll continue to see posts about Dc'ers ruining the experience of others because it's not enough to "punish" them after they've dc'd enough times. Many players will continue to game the system and continue to dc some matches and play many more to keep their ratio positive.

Punishing camping does not make it less likely to happen or more fun for the camped. If a match is going south anyway a killer will camp at any rank. Also, when was camping no longer deemed a legitimate tactic? Where's the change to make looping punishable?

Another perspective on the hatch is that it punishes a killer who does well during a match preventing an iridescent shard via an unfair mechanic.

They said during a dev stream that "Not all killers are meant to be viable at high ranks". That can be interpreted as "designed to be weak"

Hexes just suck. Losing a perk without a risk to survivors is just another unfair mechanic. Haunted Grounds came about because of this problem, but doesn't solve it.

The point of bringing that up is that no one understood why the change was made. You say it was an unintended consequence of another change, but what was that change? What was the intended consequences of making those changes? Whatever they were, they certainly weren't to the benefit of killers.

    Wall of rebuttal.

I agree on everything you said.

Btw, the upcoming event will be even worse for killers than Haunted Grounds.
Sabotage gets a buff during a event where killers have to hook survivors on special hooks.
    What could possibly go wrong?!

You could oh i don't know run Hang mans Trick for the luls when people try and sabo your event hooks as well as nail them for doing so. I ran it on my Trapper as normal but also my Huntress for the daily she had and nailed jerks.

That´s the "just break the pallet" answer to looping.

Event hooks will be a minority. Means, that the hook won´t be usually the closest hook you´ll see. Now the minimum distance between hooks is 24 meters. So the killer will just barely reach the event hook, only to get body blocked and/or the hook sabotaged. If he drops the survivor, because he has hangmans, then the survivor will break free. Even IF the survivor doesn´t break free, he won´t just stay where you drop him until the hook respawns.

Mark my words. Killers will have a terrible event.

This is going to sound harsh because it is but it's also logic and facts hopefully putting a stop to all this victim nonese.

In other words no one's going to put up offerings so the poor killers will only get 2 hooks, is that what you're saying? I mean good grief talk about drama and woe is me victimhood here, I mean it's not like there wasn't offerings galore the 1st week of the BBQ event. Most killers had their weapon within the 1st few days and after that were just farming bp.

There was also quite a few wouldn't put any up and instead make sure survivors couldn't do only the special event gens. Just because they didn't want survivors who'd put up offerings to help get them theirs couldn't get some for themselves.

if killers have a bad event mark my words, it's their own fault for not putting offerings out there plain and simple. Since if they don't want to put offerings out there then they don't deserve to get their special hooks plain and simple.

When I did the BBQ event I made sure to put up offerings every match on both sides even if I already had what i needed. I still did it to help others get their tokens since I knew not everyone would've gotten it and in fact I've still got offerings in my inventory on both sides.

If you or any other killer doesn't get it then you've got no one to blame but yourselves so stop trying to play the victim here.

By completely disregarding concerns over the new sabotage and the event hooks by using political terminology, you're making yourself look pretty foolish. Take a moment to actually read what we're writing and think about how unnecessarily difficult it's going to be for killers to gain all 5 cosmetics.

Many of us tried to get it day one because of how these events always end... in trolling. This has nothing to do with offerings and the number of hooks, but with how difficult it can be to hook survivors in the first place, let alone on specific hooks that might be a full map's width away. To barely get there and have it sabo'd. That is not the killer's fault.

Take a moment to reflect instead of being so dismissive.

They already said during a dev stream that the new Sabo will add 60 seconds to Hangman's trick making us have to wait 70 seconds before we can use the hook.

Do you think that Survivors might sabo event hooks to troll killers trying to get as many of the cosmetics as they can before time runs out?

  • My question remains, and it'd be interesting to hear a dev response when they get back to work or during a stream.

  • I am also. I only play 3-4 matches a night for my channel, but after that I dip into Skyrim (250+ mods lol)

With so many new and interesting games on the horizon I can't help but think that the devs are going to continue to hamstring themselves by doing the same thing they've done for years... Ignore the big things the community has issues with. Or even worse, make changes that no one asked for (flashlight and Pallet Stun changes are still my favorite examples)

They're going to reap what they sow, but many of us might not be around to see it...

I'm waiting for Last Year and FO76. Hopefully they are good enough to fully dive into.
  • What if insidiIns actually negated the penalty so a player intending to camp with the perk wouldn't be punished for it.
  • Depends on my mood...

Sometimes I'll let them go, or play "Hook Immunity" if there are 3 ppl.

Sometimes I'll hard camp if I have a stupid chasing daily with a killer I'm bad with. I

Sometimes I'll tunnel an easy target, sometimes I'll tunnel the unsafe rescuer/sandbagger.

Most of the time I give up on the 3rd kill giving the hatch to the 4th, but that's just cuz it's the hatch... A built in freebie escape. #saltykiller

It just depends on how my mood is compared to the survivors I'm facing.
