That video was awesome. Can i repost this on reddit and here?
Thanks :)
You can repost if you like, but I did already post here in feedback and on reddit :)
It's not a very popular post although someone did give me my first platinum for it :)

actually, according to the website, rifts will last 70 days. also, based on his youtube video i believe he meant 13.5 hours after doing ALL the Archive challenges. dont really know why he didnt mention this in his post. but still, i agree, it isnt really that much. i could get that done in a week.
Since you'll be playing matches to do the archive challenges I thought it would be better to exclude that. We can assume that the majority of people who play both roles (unlike myself) will have no problem completing the archive challenges in very few attempts. So their hurdle may be the xp required.
My problem will be accomplishing the survivor challenges as a killer main with 0 BP invested in the survivor side...

meanwhile, pls buff pig
to the original post, you already saw my comment on your youtube vid about how rifts are said to be 70 days long. i'd like to point out something to your second point here. when you buy the 10$ auric cell pack, you get 1,100 cells. assuming you dont have any cells from any previous transactions, and all you have are the 1,100, you have a 100 cell wiggle room, so you dont necessarily have to get all the way to... what was it, tier 68 where the last cells are? im on console so i cant double check. but, i just want to make sure thats known, there is a little bit of wiggle room where you could still get the next pass without spending more money.
This is a good point I didn't consider, but 100 cells is enough to buy 1 tier so I guess there is that lol

I am a Hag main.
If I wanted to change Nurse, I would ask Nurse mains how to go about it. They have more experience playing the killer than I do.
Any decisions I make on the matter might not be as effective in lowering her overpowered status while still making the changes feel fair for the players.
The demogorgon is generally held as a very good and balanced killer.
This might have happened because of the players they had come visit the office as consultants... we may never know.
But we can be sure that if the devs want to change something as ingrained in the game as the Nurse, they probably should have talked to Nurse mains about their direction and sought additional advice.
-
They won't, but even if they do it will be enough for a single cosmetic and it'll drive a player to purchase more cells to complete the set.

Can you say...”cash grab”?
because that’s all I can think. They know people who really want these skins will buy them ASAP instead of waiting to earn them at the end of the month, especially the Spirit skin.
Exactly. This is why they released in the store early.
People who encourage the scummy marketing tactics are why BHVR is going the route of EA and Activision.
In the end, maybe it's not the devs who are ruining DbD, but the players who encourage the scummy tactics by purchasing the items through those tactics.

If you want them all you have to buy some anyway even if you wait for the event.
🤷♀️
I can only earn Spirit and Plague so i bought Clowns early since his was my favorite.

There's cosmetics in the free portion of the battle pass.
You get all the previous tiers of the premium tier after you buy the premium track. You can go all the way through in the free track, and at the end, you can buy the premium option for 1,000 cells, get all the rewards, including your 1,000 cells back.
Dunno about you, but if I spend 1,000 of a currency, and then get 1,000 of said currency back, I consider that "Free".
Only if you can complete the battle pass.

I don't see the problem here.
Again, if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. You get free stuff, and the cosmetics will appear at a later date.
It's not free.

Imagine complaining before the update is even released.
The recharge will be around 3 seconds because the recharge already starts at the fatigue.
Let's hope prayer beads is the next rework ;) (im waiting for your git gud message)
Imagine seeing the same scenario play out again and again, and still believing that the devs know what they're doing.
PS it's 3 seconds per charge. The Nurse has 2 charges. It's 6 seconds.

The game gets too stale too quick. Without new killers and perks people would quit out of boredom
Which means there's a problem with the core game mechanics and not the available content.

Probably October 18th - November 1st if it follows the same pattern as last year.

As long as the rifts aren't timed exclusives I'm all for it.
They've already been confirmed to be timed exclusives tied to each Archive which is slated to last 3 months by the looks of it.
Once it's over, they're gone.
Consumer unfriendly psychological manipulation at its finest.

In no way are either of those first two examples "slight" changes. That's incredibly disingenuous to say.
You're absolutely right.
You and I know these were big changes... but the devs themselves talked about these and other changes as "small" changes that would improve the situation they were meant to.
This is also why it's important that the balance team plays the game to the level that even above average players do. Ideally, high level, but that's asking for a large time investment...
-
Well since everyone seems to agree that the change wouldn't matter or wouldn't do much or doesn't do enough to be worth the change.
Let's just make him fully invisible.
Survivors have ears and perks available to anticipate his movements so it would be a fair change right?

Slight changes
How hard is it to understand that? The nurse needed to be changed sooner or later, be thankful its not going to be a full nerf like the one legion got
The hag's trap setting speed was changed from 5 seconds to 2 seconds. Moving her from a general consensus of D-tier killer to arguably A-B tier. This is a slight change too.
How about allowing flashlight and pallet stuns to drop survivors at any point during the pickup animation? That was a slight change.
The Wraith went through a full addon rework called a "Cube" when it happened. It was expected that he would be improved to be a better killer... He's largely the same as he was before the Cube.
The Nurse's addons are being changed so her kit is being slightly changed to compensate. This can go badly in either direction, but it will probably be a solid nerf.
Time will tell and we'll see who's right by then.
-
It's frustrating, but I understand it.
If he could turn the survivor would only gain about 8+ meters of distance which might not be enough to get away from another shred.
The camera limit gives them time to hide their path enough to get another chance to dodge the next shred or make it to a loop.
-
Repetitiveness isn't on the list.
Every match is the same. There's no variety outside of yearly events.
It can make it hard to play most days.
-
Clown has the best head.
Spirit has the best weapon.
Plague has the best body.
Hag is almost too gross to look at, but her enlarged mouth might make the mori look pretty terrifying.
Jake is a survivor.

The option:
I'm waiting for ______ to come out.
The Outer Worlds, Cyberpunk 2077, and Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen ;)

They're tied together. Both come out at the same time.
Will the battle pass or any of its parts be in the PTB for testing alongside the Archives, or will it come out with the patch without external testing?

Furtive Chase by design can't work well.
Survivors use the Terror Radius as a warning that a killer is near. If they're in a chase with a killer, then it's kind of a no brainer that the killer is near.
A reduced terror radius is used by killers to sneak up on survivors before a chase begins. Once a survivor spots the killer on an open map or gets hit by surprise then a chase will begin and the survivor will know exactly where the killer is.
The lack of a TR works better on the Ghost because he can activate it at will and it won't automatically come back without work on the survivor's side.
This perk doesn't work for other killers the same way because of how Bloodlust works, the devs deliberately made chases easier to drop in order to prevent bloodlust from being triggered too easily. This is why you can be in a chase with a survivor but there is no chase music playing because the system hasn't registered that you're in a chase. Or you're in the middle of a chase and lose line of sight with the survivor and the chase drops even though you know where they're at and actively chasing them.
Once you're out of the chase, your TR returns to normal, but you're "in a chase" so it doesn't matter because you won't be able to sneak up on them anyway because they know where you're at.
This is also why Beast of Prey doesn't work and is a bad perk also.
Hopefully all the bad perks get looked at in the very near future.

I don’t actually get what it is, or why it upsets anyone.
It's a system within a game for the developing company to sell players the chance to earn digital goods through a grind system.
It is most prevalent in free to play games where that is the game's sole source of income. The systems are often predatory in nature, taking advantage of specific types of people who are vulnerable to this kind of psychological manipulation.
They're upsetting to many people for various reasons, but for me, I don't think a free to play monetization system should be in a game that isn't free to play.
Dead by Daylight already has a cosmetics shop so the implementation of a system like this is strictly a cash grab. And with all the bugs and issues the game it can be said that the focus on further monetization of the game over various fixes isn't a consumer friendly move to say the least.
This is one of my favorite videos on the subject.

Kind of a mix of both blood and scratch marks , but I most often look for blood under lockers if I've lost an injured survivor.

That's right, games usually reward investment.
Some games also make sure new players and veteran players are separated so the disparity between "investment" doesn't impact either group of players negatively.

I really don't care, and yes, I seen your YouTube video about Homo (I think that's what it's called). I came to the conclusion that if you can't control your spendings, you shouldn't really be playing a game with micro transactions in my opinion. :)
I encourage you to watch Jim Sterling's take on what you just said. He says it better than I can. I'm at work so I can't time stamp it for you. But the whole video is pretty good, in particular the bit about "cosmetic only" items.

Unfortunately the devs focus on the totem spawns instead of the mechanic itself. Changing the spawns will never fix the problem, but hopefully they catch on to that soon.
https://youtu.be/r8tJ57Ir_fE -
The same reason survivors get upset about tunneling.
Both cases are of players doing what they're supposed to do to "win"
Neither is fun for the victim of the tactic.
-
While the flood of items is a good reason. I always thought that the primary reason people came back for these were to gain perks on their favorite killers or level up the new ones with ease.
The natural grind is still pretty absurd even after it's adjustment.

Are black pips good?
Depending on what your goal is :)
-1 pip means you lose a bit of rank
0 pip (or black pip) means you didn't move up or down rank
1 pip means you moved up a little
2 pips means you moved up a lot
:) I was just trying to be funny because the ranking system is... ineffective at ranking players.
-
It should be noted that the harder you "tryhard" the lower your rank should be.
If you're not getting black pips with a 4k then you're not trying hard enough.
-
Franklin's Demise.
Taking away an item a survivor brought in always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
-
I'd be ok with an additional penalty if the snares were changed to be more effective rather than relying on multiple snares to get the desired effect.
-
It could be better...
-
Thankfully, Freddy doesn't rely on stealth so you can ignore the OoO for the most part and take him out using normal tactics when the opportunity arrives.
Undetectable not being in place for the Ghost is kind of questionable, but not many people run it so the issue is kind of meh.
Although in the end, the design decisions here are kind of questionable.

An ongoing analysis of Steam's player numbers, seeing what's been played the most.
Right now, Hide or Die has 0 people playing.
The HoD devs have released a statement talking about how their systems haven't maintained the playerbase post-launch. They're going to try again, but that's exactly what Deathgarden did and currently DG had 42 people playing as of this post.
In order for anything to be a "threat" to DbD it will need to be complete at launch with minimal bugs and fleshed out systems that are engaging to the players.
The gameplay itself must be new and fresh but still enjoyable on its own.
Even today, newer players of DbD do not stick with it for long because of many of the systems and issues that exist. This is also why DbD only had a peak of 47k players during the last 30 days which included a free weekend and the release of the Stranger Things dlc.
Right now the average player count for the past 30 days is still around 20k which is the same it's been since June 2018.
Dead by Daylight can't grow an audience, the majority of players are those who've become invested in the game since the beginning. Newer players leave quite quickly.
In order for a new competitor to be a threat do DbD, it's going to have to solve all of DbD's problems and release the game in a complete state.
Hide or Die may not kill DbD, but I hope they can fix their game in a way that the DbD devs refuse to.

Ridiculously argument. No cleansing? Sure I'll just star broken and sick the whole game.
How long have you been playing?
Some of us might have been playing longer than you and do just fine with a handicap like that. If you want to ignore the advice of people who've been playing longer than you that's fine, but don't get snarky when we're genuinely trying to help.

There's always gotta be one (or two) bad perks with every new survivor/killer.
Which of the Demogorgon's perks are good in your opinion?
I really don't think any of them are very good because they're too situational (Mindbreaker) / unreliable since their triggers are in the survivor's hands (Cruel Limits), or hamstrung on purpose preventing usability (Surge).
-
I would like to believe that we've provided enough feedback on the perk and now they're just going to sit back and watch the numbers for a few weeks then spend a few months working on it along with a myriad of other perks except the oldest ones like Monstrous Shrine.
We'll see them fixed in a few years like Decisive Strike.

It's designed for stealth killers to counter sprint burst. That's it.
And it does so poorly...
https://youtu.be/LeukrsSQPGM -
I don't like the conditions on the perk.
Instead of gens being the requirement, allow it to be a killer hit, similar to a killer applying mangled with sloppy butcher.
Then, a killer could apply more exhaustion time on a hit or a down which would have the same effect with a better application. The perk would still be garbage, but it would do its job better than it currently does.
-
Ranks don't really matter until the ranking system actually ranks skill, so it wouldn't matter if they displayed rank or not...
It would be immensely helpful if it displayed hours played though.
You could take it easy on the survivors who are learning and beat the crap out of the experienced survivors.
Or, exit the lobby if you were matched up against players who where outside of your range of expertise. I'd play against a lobby full of new players just so I could take it easy and help them learn the game, and prep for a difficult match against players with equal or more time played than myself.
It would help take care of the matchmaking problem the devs haven't been able to solve for years by letting us do it for them.
