Furtive Chase

Has anyone been able to get this perk stacked up to where it's performing well? How many tokens does it take to really reduce your terror radius down to mind-gameable level? I think it might be pretty good on legion to have survivors bleed out while close by, but I haven't unlocked it yet.

  • You max it at 4 stacks.

So it reduces the terror radius by 16 meters

  • This perk is just awful because a lower terror radius doesn't help you while in a chase.

If anything, the perk should lower your terror radius at all times by 4 meters per Obsession hook up to a maximum of 16.

This might sound strong, but it does encourage the killer to not camp. The perk makes both sides happy, one sides gets rewarded for applying pressure while the other side doesn't have to get camped. :)

Furtive Chase is kinda funny on Myers, but I agree it's pretty pointless. IMO a better change would be too reduce the red stain every token in a chase. That way it has better use then just a Terror Radius reducer.

  • Furtive Chase by design can't work well.

Survivors use the Terror Radius as a warning that a killer is near. If they're in a chase with a killer, then it's kind of a no brainer that the killer is near.

A reduced terror radius is used by killers to sneak up on survivors before a chase begins. Once a survivor spots the killer on an open map or gets hit by surprise then a chase will begin and the survivor will know exactly where the killer is.

The lack of a TR works better on the Ghost because he can activate it at will and it won't automatically come back without work on the survivor's side.

This perk doesn't work for other killers the same way because of how Bloodlust works, the devs deliberately made chases easier to drop in order to prevent bloodlust from being triggered too easily. This is why you can be in a chase with a survivor but there is no chase music playing because the system hasn't registered that you're in a chase. Or you're in the middle of a chase and lose line of sight with the survivor and the chase drops even though you know where they're at and actively chasing them.

Once you're out of the chase, your TR returns to normal, but you're "in a chase" so it doesn't matter because you won't be able to sneak up on them anyway because they know where you're at.

This is also why Beast of Prey doesn't work and is a bad perk also.

Hopefully all the bad perks get looked at in the very near future.
