Ditto. So far the worst I’ve done is a 2k, but I’m just now breaking into red ranks, started at Rank 7. Right now, she seems viable up till Red Ranks, but the mid-chapter buffs might make her just fine.

    lol @ high school classes...

Rank doesnt matter unless you want games full of nothing but slugging and tunneling. You want an achievement? Aright. Throw this free week in and you have stage 6 cancer when it comes to the community. Let the BM begin.

IKR, college classes in high school is so fun... well not really! :(

Back on topic, I actually like it when the killer slugs me because, coff coff, No Mither grants infinite amount of recovery from dying state! :)

However it's true, if you reach rank 1 survivor with No Mither then you can actually say that your rank matters! Reaching rank 1 No Mither is a huge deal and not many people can achieve that!
Did that 2 seasons ago. I need to post those videos I recorded of my journey to a Rank 1 with No Mither, We’ll Make It, Iron Will, and Urban Evasion before I lose them among the lord only knows how many other videos I record... I keep recording every match so I can watch them and see what I did right/wrong. 40 GB of videos is getting excessive though...
  • Well... if they did it with Shards I’m alright but never Auric Cells. That too close to pay to win by getting good perks and add ons quickly with minimal effort to grind out the BP.

I find it rather weak too. I experimented quite a few times with it, and I can't remember a single occasion when the killer did not make it to the hook with me, nor do I remember it ever causing me any problem when carrying a survivor who has it.
No, I don't mean it should grant a free escape any time, but I'd say a slight buff is in order.

Why do you think it needs a buff? Mentioning that you've never escaped with it just makes it look like you think it should guarantee an escape.

No. "Free escape every time", you said, that's a 100%. I wouldn't want that, would be unbalanced obviously. I said I NEVER, not once managed to wiggle out because of Boil Over, not even when killer wasn't running Iron Grasp or Agitation. That's 0%. Maybe others have different opinions, I'm open to that, but from what I've seen, in its current state it's a rather useless perk unfortunately.
Possibly, for very inexperienced killers, the effect that prevents them from seeing nearby hook auras may be a problem, but I don't think that's a real issue over, say, 10 hours of gameplay.

I ask you again, why do you think it needs a buff? We already have a "free escape" perk, it's called Decisive Strike. Boil Over can be useful under certain circumstances, but it's not supposed to guarantee a free escape by itself.

Conditionally inverting killer controls doesn't guarantee a free escape though.

Implementing your idea would mean giving SWF trololololol squadettes yet anothe tool to harass the killer.

With only 4 perk slots, at some point with enough tools, people will have to pick and choose their poison. Its always been the same meta perks for so long. Every time I see new perks that are so weak, I always sigh at a wasted opportunity to add variety to the game.

There’s the real problem. You want to compare every new perk you get to the current meta and if it’s not as reliable and powerful, not worth it. This is why he Survivor “Holy Trinity” hasn’t changed since Halloween chapter except for that small stint when Borrowed Time also protected the hook rusher and was Broken Time. Then Survivors rage when one of the “Holy Trinity” even gets a mention of a nerf. You refuse to accept anything less than DS level of power.

Which is the point. The point of Obsession perks was supposed be be the Killer is literally Obsessed with Killing you, to the point of frenzy. That’s why Obsession perks are supposed be be high risk / High reward.

Rancor is really the first perk to make DS “high risk” at the end of a match after Mori’s got nerfed. That or tombstone Myers running Dying Light.

I think you should probably learn juking guides and practice learning map knowledge so you don't put yourself in a position where you can be hooked and camped. Some killers just flat out suck so when they finally get a hook it's a BIG DEAL for them and even though they will probably depip "I just want the kill" mentality kicks in and well you're probably gonna die unless a brave soul on your team with borrowed time is willing to potentially take your place. Stack your perks with second chance crutches to give yourself the best chance to not get hooked hey at least the killer can't really cry about that when they are face camping.

Lol I mean I know how to juke it's just when I got to Rank 1 survivor I thought it would be different and more competitive, but camping is boring and unfun and killers wonder why survivors stack crutch perks and items.
It’s not a surprise. Though you have to know that the reason many Killers do camp is BECAUSE they have  so many crutch perks. Killers can be dicks, Survivors can be dicks. Problem is getting both sides to agree not to use bullshit perks and tactics to just faceroll the other side.

Killers bring the best and use everything they have and faceroll Survivors, Survivors get tired of “playing nice” and do it back to Killer’s that are “playing nice”. Which in turn thy Killer goes to using the best and faceroll... it’s a viscous cycle.

I “play nice” on both sides, I get facerolled often (unless I’m on my Nurse.) though I just roll with it and take it cause I want to lead by example. I know it probably doesn’t matter in the grand size and scheme of things, but I can’t bring myself to be a hypocrite about everyone should “play nice” and avoid broken OP perks and scummy tactics.

Side Note : I don't play Nurse because I really want to win. I play Nurse because ever since The Last Breath came out I was enamored with her. I found her power and her atheistics cool. Her background is so tragic and heartbreaking... I just love her to pieces. I started on PS4 so I waited a long time to play her... I flipped my lid when I saw her “Black Wedding” outfit. I had to have it...

Op try using paragraphs to make your post easier to read since quite a few of us have bad eyes.

As far as being camped it's going to happen same as getting tunneled, you can't really do much other than hope your teammates are smart.

the only way to stop people from camping is to gen rush them every game they do it until it stops being profitable for them. There's always going to be the jerks that cmap at 5 gens just because they want to be jerks and smack you on the hook.

They're hoping you'll get mad and suicide yourself so they can go get more or that people will take the bait and feed them free kills. Yes it sucks to be the one camped and tunneled but don't do anything, don't react and in post game chat don't feed the troll.

Exactly. I just get on my phone and browse 9gag or the forums. Just wish more Survivors would understand to Gen Rush a hard camper at the start of a match.
  • Her husks are suppose to sparkle when she phase walks. It’s not a bug if that is what you’re asking.
That’s really stupid... where is the mind game of just standing still pretending to Phase Walk if they can tell?
  • Seriously, then went way overboard. It was better in the PTB when all you heard were her moans when she was close.
  • I get Grudge all the time... never had an issue when I do Phase Walk Strike. Though the opportunity to get it is more rare than what the developers think. Just needs a bump in how many points per strike, 750 should do the trick.
  • “I hardly play Killer and I don’t think it’s as OP as Rancor”. Right there is your problem OP, you don’t play Killer.

Ive already had countless Moris performed on me as Im running to leave because of this perk. Alot of these times I hadnt even been hooked. Why is there no criteria if youre killing someone out if the game. Its irritating and doesnt seem fair. Last I checked killers were complaining about D strike being op (just cuz u break free and get to run again).. does anyone really think that getting to one shot and instantly kill the obsession even if theyve never been hooked is fair? Shouldnt the obsession at least get to open the hatch without a key or something? obviously the killer will be guarding the gates so shouldnt the potential victim has some kind of way out? Doesnt seem fair to basically have a sealed fate of death. You cant even go to save a friend because camping killers will protect their hook and instakill the obsession. What are your thoughts?
Counter balance to DS. Most Obsession players only make it to the end with “no hooks” because the Killer literally avoids them and they get impunity just because DS is OP, and the Killer can’t afford to waste the time on them.

They nerf DS like they’ve been talking about, I’ll consider a nerf to Rancor. Until then, it stays as is. In my opinion at least.

Besides, you’re taking a gamble on even finding the Obsession before they can open the gate and leave.

  • Welcome to the meta the majority of the Survivor player base asked for. Less hiding, doing Gens, and sneaking away cause “It’s boring and not fun”. More “being chased all game, cause that’s what’s fun.”

IE : The biggest excuse they told the developers in order to protect Looping and keep it a massively overpowered tactic.

The hell? So it’s the Killers fault and they should be punished for doing exactly what they are supposed to do?

I dont know what you have read, but IF you chase a guy for 5 gens and dont get a kill, the hell yeah its the killers fault. why dont you understand that a looper you cant reach, is a waste of time? you dont have time as a killer, we all know that. so if i am not able to reacht a good juker, i change my target. another surv, that is less good in juking. down him, hook him, gain points for him, kick gen back and so on. maybe the good juker will come to unhook, and then you ahve another chance to get him. and if not, there are two others left to hang. what will you prefer? chasing someon over 5 gens and get 0 kills and flame in forum to the devs to change that? or kill at least 3 other survs, get the points for them? cant be that difficult, isnt it?

Do tell why it’s alright for a Survivor to be so strong in the chase they even have the option? Looping is not juking, your not losing the Killer, you’re just stalling them. Also, what do you do when everyone is just like the first dude?
  • Jesp said:

Unless they add other ways for survivors to gain distance (that isn't exhaustion perks) or try to escape a chase it sort of has to be that way. Yeah, you can pull off a play in many ways. You can lithe + dance with me, you can iron will urban evasion out of a nurse chase while she's fatigued if you're lucky and more. But when actually breaking chase is a risky and inconsistent play, wasting time is the safer option. If you sneak away and avoid running to not make scratchmarks, you're basically a free hit if it doesn't work.

Eat the pallets, enduring is your friend. Go all out with BS + spirit's fury if you really want to eat them up, maybe even bamboozle for the true JUGGERNAUT build now. And if you're chasing some crazy optimal survivor there's no shame in just making them drop a pallet and looking for a new chase. Sorry, but no matter how badly some people want it to be true to feed their straight up persecution complex even rank 1 isn't exclusively 4man swfs with 10k hours combined doing their best Depip Squad cosplay while communicating like a SWAT team.

Do I want them to add other things for survivors to use? Yeah! I'd love stuff like crawlspaces, bushes that legitimately make a survivor invisible (not many of them of course) and a perk that lets you press E to hide scratchmarks for X seconds for more consistent chase breaking. But until there's other tools available the pallet dance is the Most Effective Tactic Available, and whining about survivors using it to survive (their objective) is just as asinine as survivors complaining about killers running strong perks or camping when there's an open gate 10 meters away.

Right there is the rub. It’s inconsistent and risky, however it’s supposed to be like that. You as a Survivor screwed up and got found in the first place. Why are you being rewarded with a consistent and low risk option like Looping for screwing up? Where’s the punishment for your failure? Getting chased is no punishment. Hell, you get rewarded for it. Yeah, you’re basically a free hit if it doesn’t work, but that wouldn’t be an issue if you didn’t screw up and get found in the first place, now would it?

Your comparsion is completly void as well. Camping has draw backs of zero map pressure so the Survivor team has free reign to do whatever the hell they want on the map. Looping has absolutely zero draw backs and benefits not only the solo Survivor but the team as a whole. Not to mention Survivors have perks too, so that cancels that argument out.

What Survivors want is a low risk - high reward tactic to cover up the fact they got found with their pants down.

Yes, I have an idea - stop trying to dictate that Killers should not be allowed to kill Survivors and should instead play to farm points. Playing your role is not toxic and is not a problem. Killers are there to kill, period.

maybe i look for some more examples, but its enough at this time. As I said, cant take you serious anymore.

The problem is not the survivor looping around an obstacle over and over again, the problem is that the killer always is running behind him/her to get him and hang him.

with some more experience (you said you are new in the game) you will see that stopping a chase and go to next gen/weaker survivor will be more succesful. the palletlooper will ran into your weapon later. and even if not, you have two or three others sacrificed. just thinkl about this words. its not your "goal" to kill all 4. two or three are acceptable and bring you pips and bloodpoints as well.

The hell? So it’s the Killers fault and they should be punished for doing exactly what they are supposed to do?

Assuming a killer's power on one game isn't the best way to go about this @dannyfrog87!

Try to play 10 games with her at ranks 5 & lower then you can make your opinion.
Her power is more forgiving if you mess up than Nurse, in exchange she is less powerful than Nurse. However she is extremely potent when the Killer player is good at predicting the Survivors moves.

As a Nurse Main, this is second nature to me. Moreso because I play on PS4 and Nurse on PS4 is far more about predictions of where Survivors will be, and not where they are as you have to compensate for FPS drops, more limited control, and possible lag.

This is just from a few matches I played as her at Rank 6.

Her mind game potential is massive at Pallets, but highly limited because of the cooldown on her power. You kind of have to pick and choose. Either try to get the sneak attack hit with her power, or Pallet mind game with it. Not both. Which is highly limiting her strength as a Killer because you kind of need both... at least in my opinion.
  • The cooldown is a bit long, I would like 15 seconds. Though I’m not 100% sure they should do anything.

I’ve played 3 matches as her and 3 against her. Victories all around. 3+ sacrifices as her each time, 3 escapes and no deaths.

i thought this topic was about how they destroyed the maps? hook spawns are broken and have been forever. spread them out more. make a set spawning area on each map for hooks. discussion over.

now onto these maps changes. tons of loops are gone now in every map. like 6 patches ago killers got a buff to vault speed, then came the clown who is a looping destroyer in himself let alone bamboozle. the pallet vacuum disappeared during the same patch and the changed the stun time to occur during the middle of the drop instead of the beginning (hence people getting smacked through pallets all day) pallets were "redistributed" or however they stated it like 4 patches ago as well then after that they completely took pallets away in certain spots too. god forbid im forgetting anything important here

everything i said in the middle paragraph can be found in the patch notes, they're all entirely true. i gotta ask you killers......how many more breaks do u need lol? can u not catch someone unless they're forced to run in a straight line or out in the open? generators are the issue. i've never understood why this game is one of the very few that DOES NOT balance gameplay around the objective. fix gens lol so killers have more time to m1 us

Killers have tried. For years to ######### about the Gens. We literally got told by M.Cote they don’t want to introduce new mechanics that “change the way the game is played when it concerns the Gens.”

Killers like chases too. We’re just sick and tired of losing because the Gens aren’t balanced for this “######### Loop spots”. We would rather have more fun and interesting Gens for Survivors to balance the game, but the developers seem to rather want to change the maps to have shorter chases.

Why can't we just petition to go figure out how maps get sparse hook spawns and how maps get abundant hook spawns and make them feel more balanced lmao.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind doing something like this.
Same algorithm that is used for Pallet spawns is used for hook spawns. Some are procedural spawning and some are static. The game rotated the tiles of the map, and sometimes this rotation put procedural hooks RIGHT NEXT to static spawn hooks and theats why you get clusters.

Same reason even though the developers said “double Pallet spawns are gone” it still happens. Like on Wretched Shop. You get the double Pallet that’s on the left side of the shop.

It happens. Might as well just deal with it when it does.

Give me some examples Mr internet smart ass
You got found in the first place dipshit. You done ######### up, now take the punishment of being chased by a Killer who’s powerful in the chase. What you want is to say “######### Stealth”.

You like so many Survivors want Stealth AND the chase to be super viable options at the same time. That not how it works. Each Killer has thier strength and weaknesses. Clown is most powerful in the chase, so don’t get into a chase at any cost. Other Killers are not so strong in the chase, so it’s fine to be chased more often. Seriously, you need to adjust your play style based on what Killer you’re facing.

Whats the damn point of Killers with different powers, different strengths and weaknesses, if you just play the same way against all of them and it works every single time? Stop trying to whine and complain being chased by Clown is harder and adjust you play style to be more careful and sneaky.

This is like people complaining you have to crouch more with Hag, watch your step with Trapper, or be better at Looping with Freddy.

  • Been like his for a while... the developers have a real issue with hair. The psychics bug out all the time too like this : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BcB8iKxuP_8

Keep a close eye on the bottom middle to right of the screen. For a split second you’ll see a flash across the screen of Kate’s hair bugging out and stretching across the screen. Which told me exactly her position.
  • This is getting fixed in the next update correct? I didn't have access to PTB but I heard that Spirit's lunge was bugged, then I heard all slow killers lunges are bugged. I play both Hag and Huntress and I swear my swing goes right through survivors sometimes. And if I play Freddy or Pig which are normal speed I never get juked like that unless it's a really good juke. Please tell me that the next update will mean my axe will hit these #########, I'm tired of whiffing on what should definitely be a hit.

Yup, now I know why I had so many wiffs on Huntress it infuriated me to the point I stopped playing her and said “Don’t care if I’m on PS4, I’m learning Nurse.”

Well that'll certainly be one less thing for certain whiny killer mains to complain about on here. The only real question is which survivor will they use as an excuse next? 😜

Just annoying every time they come out with a new map, I have to memorize another set of “usual P3 Claudette natural habitats.”

Actually as a Claudette/Meg main I have no issues for the most aprt finding Claudette's, it's the Fengs with dark outfits. The P3 Legacy players and the Quentin P3's since they blend in better than Claudette.

I’m a Meg Main myself (Dat booty running is nice). I don’t have an issue finding per say, just keeping track of while in a chase. P3 anything is horrific in tall reeds or corn.

Though, I’m a console player so that doesn’t help. FPS drops in corn are a disaster, and being a Nurse Main I get “Corn Blindness” and can’t see a damn thing. Then when playing other Killers, god forbid you get Bloodlust in the corn and get the FPS drops on every single Bloodlust. Makes me want to break my controller... though I’m ranting here about console optimization. My bad.

Yeah, Claudette is the hardest to see, but to me that’s simply an issue with Killers that don’t have eyesight that is highly attuned to movement. That or they don’t notice detail. I guess my real life job as a Tool and Die Machinist comes into play a lot with this game. I’ve memorized the maps so well, that my eye for detail can just tell when something is “off”. It just doesn’t look right... and surprise! That rock looks weird cause it’s not a rock, but a P3 Claudette hunkered down.

As for movement... that’s all on eye coordination, of which thanks to my years of MMORPG, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne playtime, I have that in abundance. The smallest twitch, or movement in those games tells you what move the enemy will make, so pay attention... so paying attention to movement in DBD is a walk in he park in comparison.

Sorry, I’m rambling here. I guess what I’m trying to say is that when it comes down to it, Killers just need to train their eyes and reflexes better. It’s not easy, but you can do it. As for “where they are hiding” play attention to detail, I know it’s a race against the clock for Killers, but sometimes you need to stand still, and take a moment to really look.

Camping and tunneling is OP... to a single Survivor.

To the team as a whole, as long as they aren’t complete morons and don’t feed he camper, it’s a weak strategy.

Its all on the Survivors not to be idiots and feed a camper.

    With ruin etc. it's not.

It's one of the most powerful strategies of the game and if you feel otherwise, you just are simply wrong.

Getting a survivor within 120 seconds out of the game is powerful as [BAD WORD].

You just have to camp properly, knowing all the survivors locations and know when to leave the hook, even when only for a short period.

Guessing you’ve not faced the high rank Survivors like myself, who just blow through Ruin hitting all the Great Skill checks like it’s nothing?

Camping only works against bad Survivors.

Then i've played against nothing but bad survivors for the past two years from rank 20 to rank 1 every damn game, because the only time it doesn't work is when I make a mistake or just get screwed by RNG. Survivors cannot resist being altruistic; hook one, and you'll get at least one more, guaranteed. Properly 'camping' is actually not standing in one place, its maintaining control of the hooked person and the map at the same time.

That’s more a patrol in my opinion, not a full blown camp. A full blown camp is when the Killer refuses to leave a 15 meter radius of the hooked person.

  • Salem, Ohio. Also know as “Bum ######### Nowhere, USA.”
  • How about when you go to disarm the trap and the disarm animation flips you around and snaps you into it. That one is always a fun time...
  • I use it on my Nurse. I rate it better than Whispers. To each their own though.

If killer is too EZ, try playing at rank 1. Don't use any perks or add-ons and lets see if it's still as EZPZ lemon squeezy as you say it is.

I feel let down in more ways then one here, and I'm not sure which is more depressing. The op crushing newbies and claiming killers are op or the fact that @DocOctober didn't post his meme.

    I got you covered fam.

They've already talked about how they're buffing solo up to the level of swf so they can then buff killers around all 4 survivors being equal.

But in fact they actually nerf killer every patch… and on stream they keep talking about further future nerfs.

    🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Cough Hag buffs, cough Trapper buffs, cough soon to be Wraith buffs but hey they keep nerfing killers every patch.

So many Killers don’t appreciate they are at least trying to give Killer’s the edge.

    Hag buffs skyrocketed her viability.

Trapper buffs were good, but could have been a little more. Mostly just travel time to collect the damn things all over the map. A little too add on dependent, but it’s definitely progress I’m thankful for.

Haven’t gotten my hands on the Wraith buffs, but I’m excited to try them.
