Are you complaining about that free camp survivors allow you to do? Hook tech is awesome!

Or you can just position yourself correctly and smack them. You’re most likely getting that Survivor down and if they’re dumb enough to stay under the hook, you’ll have two hooked Survivors. If you camp then the other one or two Survivors can just repair the gens.

  • They didn't even fix the insta-flashlight bug. Have they even acknowledged its existence?

    @HollowsGrief said:

Sound issues for killers still a thing months in, but that DS bug fixed in a week lmfao.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the moment the devs heard about the DS bug, they dropped whatever they were doing and rushed to fix it before even thinking of fixing anything else.

  • Self-Care is only worth it as Survivor with med-kits, Botany Knowledge, or if you get lucky with Dying Light. I tried using SC without any of those once. My first reaction was “holy ######### this is slow”. Now I always run it with Botany and I bring med-kits for a lot of my games.

As a Killer, I love seeing Survivors run off to heal themselves because 99% of them are not using any healing boosts so they’re over there healing for 32 seconds and not repairing a gen.

  • @Peanits

So what will happen to the Emblem system? Is it just going to stay or will it be removed/changed?

  • I’m not sure if I like the first or second version best.

The second makes an entire area unsafe because of the lack of windows. It also only activates five times at max and in a certain area. Strong, but not OP.

The first version sounds really cool, but I’m not sure Survivors would like being trapped in an area for 30 seconds with nothing to do, especially if the Killer doesn’t come for them. However, being able to go to a gen and know that a Survivor is still there is really good and I like it a lot. Question: If there are two gens within Cruel Limits, could you have two walls blocking off the same Survivor?

Also I hope the name gets changed back to Cruel Confinement. That name sounds a million times better.

  • All three of the Killers you mentioned are fine and don't need nerfs. If you aren't asleep, then Freddy is a M1 Killer with no chase ability. Billy is only really powerful when caught out of the open. Ghostface just needs bug fixing. The detection is bad on his side and the Survivors' side.

    @Mistikus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124491/should-freddy-be-nerfed-as-well

in my opinien the only change billi need is to get rid of his insta saw, as for ghost face the only think that should be fixed is that when you look at him face to face he dosent break out of power, for frieddy i would like to see palets addon gone

Remove Freddy's pallets? LOOOL You have to be kidding me right now. His pallets are easily counterable by dropping them early and running through them. They have no collision, unlike regular pallets. If he's using them, then it means he can easily be turned into a powerless Killer if you loop him at the right area.

  • No. I get why you're suggesting this, but it would be terrible in-game, unless you want to give Killers a similar buff. A Kobe-themed cosmetic would probably end up being a better idea.

  • The Emblem system already sucks. With Plague, it's even worse because it doesn't count you making the Survivors Broken and I'm not sure if it counts your Corrupt Purge either. There's no way that this wasn't some kind of last second decision because of how many flaws the current version of the system has. It was rushed out the door.

Also, did you have any Survivors DC? I'm 99.99% sure the Devout Emblem is bugged because it doesn't compensate you for DCs anymore. If someone DCs now, you're most likely getting a Silver in that category or a Gold if you managed to get enough hooks either with only three Survivors or before the DC happened and you're most likely black pipping (maybe getting one pip if you're lucky) no matter the Killer.

  • Dedicated servers ######### me over.

Dull and Skeleton Keys being able to open the Hatch.

    Consoles not being optimized.

Survivors running straight for the god loops or infinites on maps (yes, I do mean infinites because by the time you vault the window or get around whatever structure you're at, you've lost chase, meaning that you can't use Bloodlust or the Entity blocker). This is the one I probably hate the most. I actually had two Survivors do this to me last night and think that they're gods and that it's my fault for letting them get there. You're really going to say that it's my fault when you make a mad dash for those loops when I get within 100 kilometers of you?

  • Did you play against the old Doctor? To find Survivors with him, all you had to do was enter Treatment Mode. New Doctor's Static Blast forces you to be close to the Survivors and they can know when you're charging it up. You can waste a Static Blast if there aren't any Survivors in the area. There's definitely some skill required there.

Also the whole point of Doctor is that you'll have an easier time finding the Survivors, but it'll be harder to catch them at loops.

They have a clue they have made tons of money and kept this game going for over three years now. If you don't like it you can take your salty tears and go somewhere else like Roblox. Tired of all these babies thinking they know jack ######### about game development and balancing.

The ranking system is not why this game has been so successful and thinking otherwise is delusional. A lot of people have just stopped caring about rank because of how poor of a job BHVR is doing with their ranking systems.

Also are you really about to defend a ranking system that punishes the player for an enemy disconnecting? No good ranking system punishes you for an opposing player leaving the game.

Holy hell what set this guy off? Dude... set down the controller... get off the forum... maybe go watch a sunset or something...

I’m tired of Survivors complaining about new or updated Killers when we’ve only had a couple of days to play as them. I do not want another Old Freddy situation.

Also, did you really think that there wouldn’t be an abundance of Iridescent Queens? It used to be an uncommon add-ons and players had hundreds of those. The rework encouraged players to get as many Scrapped Tapes before they transformed into Iridescent Queen when the patch hit.

  • Holy crap! Players are running a brand new UR add-on and are combining it with the other one to see if they work well together! How could anyone have predicted this, especially a few days after the Killer got buffed?

It’s been three ######### days and it’s the first weekend since Doc was buffed. Of course people are going to be using both UR add-ons to see if they work well together. Is it that hard to grasp, or are you too busy complaining that you can’t easily loop the Killer for five gens and become invisible the entire game?

  • It’s because the devs have no clue on how to develop a proper ranking system. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was tested for only a couple of days. Do the devs really want Killers to be punished this badly for playing efficiently or having Survivors DC? The Ebony Mori probably didn’t make that much of a difference because of the stupid nine hook requirement that Devout has and the fact that it barely compensates you for DCs.

  • Sure. Just don’t bring keys or 2-4 toolboxes. Killers are people too, and we want to have fun.

  • You have to remember that he’s still new. Survivors are still trying to figure how exactly to counter him. You also started at rank 15, meaning that you were getting matched with lower skilled players who are going to be easier to kill. When you combine these factors, any Killer will look OP. Just wait a couple weeks. I highly doubt that Doctor is actually OP and that players just need a chance to adapt to him. The DCs are probably from Survivors who don’t want to adapt and just to beat every Killer the same way (the same people who got Old Freddy and Legion nerfed).

Is there some unspoken moratorium on feedback? Let the feedback come in, some people want to express their frustration with something that's newly been changed I see no problem with that. It's not like the devs are going to immediately Implement changes based on feedback at this stage.

Two days isn’t enough time to gather useful feedback. We need time to adjust to the new Doctor. Remember what happened with Old Freddy?

  • Here's how I've been playing Demogorgon. It's not the most effective way, but I have fun with it:

BBQ and Chili: Probably one of my favorite perks in the game. The aura reading can tell you where to teleport next, meaning that you can surprise Survivors by suddenly appearing in their path. Also, 100% extra BP is always a great thing.

Pop Goes The Weasel: Overall a great perk. If you know a gen is being worked on or is close to completion, you can just teleport as close as you can to it and then smack it without fear of it being finished before you can use PGTW.

Dying Light: This was my “whatever I want” perk slot. I just think Dying Light’s a really cool perk. It’s really fun to walk around with a good amount of stacks and feel like you’re unstoppable. You can replace this with whatever you want. If you use a Hex perk, then you can defend it pretty well by placing a portal near it. Make sure to activate it (aura will be yellow). An inactive portal (aura will be gray) will not track Survivors.

Save the Best for Last/Corrupt Intervention: This is if you want to become a god in chases or have more time to set up your portals (or you can have both if you put one in the “whatever you want” slot).

Corrupt blocks off three gens for two minutes, meaning that you can run around the map and place your portals early without fear of losing a lot of gens before you can finish setting up.

You can have the maximum stacks of STBFL for the entire game if you use your Shred on the Obsession as many times as you can. It doesn’t count as a basic attack, so you don’t lose stacks from hitting the Obsession with it. I’d recommend getting at least four or five stacks before starting to attack the Obsession in case they DC or kill themselves early. If the Obsession DCs early on, then you can just tunnel a Survivor in hopes that they have Decisive Strike, which will allow you to get more stacks. If you use the perk to its full potential, you can have a 40% basic attack cooldown on every non-obsession Survivor for the entire game. How cool is that?

Other good perks for Demogorgon include:

Make Your Choice, Surveillance, and Discordance: You can teleport to the gen or hook when one of these perks activates.

Basement perks (Territorial Imperative, Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, Agitation): You hook a Survivor in the basement. You place a portal near the entrance to the basement. Teleport there when another Survivor goes for the save.

  • That’s his purpose. You’re not supposed to be able to hide from Doctor normally. Like others have said, Calm Spirit, being out of his range, looping, and lockers counter him. If you can’t or refuse to do that, then that’s on you. Get good.

Also, he just came out two days ago. Give it some time before you guys come out demanding that Doctor be nerfed into oblivion for forcing you to play differently.

  • I really like the OG Killer, Legion and Oni's menu music, but I think Doctor's is my favorite. When I first heard it, I didn't even play until after I had listened to it for 10 minutes.

  • My headphones broke halfway through, so I only got to tier 32. However, I think I could've gotten to tier 50 or 60 if my headphones didn't break.

  • They don't have to worry about Ruin at the start of the game messing up their skillchecks anymore.

    @meatisadelicacy said:

Because we have a challenge and don't want to get dodged.

You know that you won't be able to completely prevent being dodged, right? Killers can just close out the game during the five second countdown.

  • Now Survivors know what it's like to be affected by loads of game breaking bugs.

  • The first challenge is for the Devout Emblem only and you can only earn one of those. It's not bugged.

  • I've mained Doctor since September 2017. Yesterday I got the chance to play a couple of games as him, and I was loving it. I’m using my same build that I’ve used for a while now (BBQ, Distressing, Unnerving Presence, and Overcharge with Iridescent King and Moldy Electrode).

It's great not having to worry about switching modes and having to move at 110% just to shock Survivors. The Static Blast is great at finding Survivors that I’d normally miss with the Static Field and it’s a guaranteed Madness tier up. Iridescent Queen is a really cool add-on. I’ve been thinking about using it instead of Moldy Electrode.

I do not like the new Snap Out of It at all because your afflictions lose a good amount of their effectiveness when you go all the way down to tier 1 and it’s not very threatening when you can just stop and restart it anywhere. The afflictions should work at tier 1 now and all of the other changes should be reverted. I still don’t think that the Obedience add-on should’ve lost its Exhaustion effect. The reverse skill checks should’ve been part of his base kit instead. Some of his other add-ons were just slightly adjusted to fit the Static Blast. Increasing the Madness gain from Static Blast and Shock Therapy is kinda worthless now that you’re guaranteed to go up a tier with the blast. The 10 % increase to base Shock Therapy range isn’t enough to me. It should be a 25% increase (basically Moldy Electrode but without the charge time increase). I also think that the Static Blast cooldown is still too long. It should be between 30 and 40 seconds.

As for his speed, he doesn’t feel any faster to me.

  • Does anyone know if this is happening with the pallets too?

  • Just lobby dodge. I've almost always dodged when I see more than one toolbox.

  • I tried him out last night, and I think I love him. I was constantly raising Survivors’ Madness and it was very fun. His shock feels great now that I’m always going 115%, just wish the base range was longer (I think it’s still too short).

Just play last year. The survivors there are OP as well but the devs listen and know the survivors are op and are making balance changes that actually help bring them down and are trying to make the game easier to understand for new players. Bvhr just does what they want or feel to be right regardless of feedback from the killer players.

Actually BHVR does listen to Killer feedback, but it usually takes most of the Killer community speaking up for them to look into something. Even then, it'll likely be at least a month before the fix is implemented. Look at Mettle of Man, the Hatch standoff, and DS. MoM took a month and over 3/4 of Killers speaking up for them to finally address it. DS and the Hatch standoff took over TWO ######### YEARS for them to start thinking about changing it. They also took their sweet time on map fixes. How long have we been complaining about maps like Haddonfield and the corn maps? Two and half, three years now? Now they're just getting around to changing all of the maps.

  • I'm really curious as to why the devs didn't make Doctor's afflictions work at tier 1 to compensate for the nerf. Dropping to tier 1 wouldn't have bothered me as much if I could still use my afflictions effectively. Currently, Madness 2 is stronger than Madness 3, which is something that shouldn't be happening.

As for the other changes, they're ######### terrible. It looks like the devs just looked for a part of his kit to neuter for rank 20 Survivors and they happened to choose Snap Out of It. It's very close to becoming another Deep Wound situation. It really sucks that the devs decided to not listen to our feedback on this.

  • Because how easy it is to reach a new tier. I really don’t like it (especially because it means the affliction add-ons not as good anymore), but we have to appease the rank 20 Survivors. Looks like Madness 2 is going to be stronger than Madness 3.

  • He’s been able to do this since like 2017 and people are just now complaining about it?

Also, give it a couple weeks. He literally just got his update.

  • Have you only had this issue with new Doc? If so, then what cosmetics are you using? The patch notes mention that there's known issue with a couple of his cosmetics.

Frame rate issues occur when combining The Doctor's Foul Bile and Auto-Lobotomy cosmetics.

  • It's not on XB1 yet? That sucks. Hopefully the issues are quickly resolved.

PS: Is there any problems with the patch releasing on PS4?

  • @Blueberry said:

Haven't really been able to test him appropriately on live seeing as everyone thinks it's funny to run Calm Spirit right at his release.

Why am I not surprised? I kinda wish the devs decided to lock Calm Spirit just to prevent this crap (I don’t think they would’ve though, just wishful thinking).

Smoother but the delay of the survivors reacting to the shock is just as awful.

Ok. Does that mean that the devs never fixed the shock delay bug or that they did and it still feels terrible?

  • How does the new Shock cooldown feel?

  • They actually can if they find the last Survivor in a corner and the EGC hasn't started yet.

  • @Xx_Daniel_xX69 said:

Thanks for the responses so fast! Also is the spirit bug getting patched with the update? I believe another killer also had a bug but I'm unsure.

No its a unique skin , not a reskin. At 5:00 is where the skin is at.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGwHpvRDHQU&t=560s

Ok then, I don't remember seeing that Plague or Legion cosmetic in the Rift. Looks like they're going to the store.

  • I'm actually pretty excited for the Doctor changes now. Can't wait to try them out! I have 200+ Scrapped Tapes ready to become Iridescent Queens.

    @Xx_Daniel_xX69 said:

Are the new comsetics for Plague, Demo and Legion coming with the patch or the rift?

The Rift does have a couple of Plague and Legion cosmetics, but they looked like reskins. Not sure if those are the ones you're talking about.

The Demogorgon cosmetics are most likely going straight to the store. I don't think licensed characters will appear in the Rift (probably due to licensing reasonings) and they weren't in the Rift when the PTB was live.

  • I think it's because the devs have realized that low rank queue times can get really high and they still can't fix the matchmaking, so they're just trying to make the game easy for those Survivors so they'll want to stay and repopulate the low ranks.

  • The sounds are still hot garbage and her post phase lunge bug hasn’t been fixed yet.

  • I think it’s very likely that we’re getting it tomorrow.

  • It should be brought back just to deal with keys. You can’t do anything against them now. It wouldn’t bring back Hatch standoffs because the Survivor would either die to the EGC if they’re the last one left or the Killer would lose the last one or two gens. The Survivors could also bodyblock if they needed to.

  • That’s why I immediately dodge when I see a key. It doesn’t always work because of chests, but it definitely helps until they get nerfed.

On the topic of keys in chests, why? Survivors can get such a powerful item by just getting lucky. It’s not like the Killer can get a Mori in the middle of the game. Hopefully they get completely removed from chests soon.

  • Are you guys able to tell us the final number?

  • I mainly play four Killers: Doctor, Freddy, Demogorgon, and Plague.

I honestly wouldn't mind that. He is overwhelming at times (especially when playing solo). It's even worse if he has addons.

That depends on your location on the map. If you’re a loop then force him to M1 you. If you’re out in the open, then you’re most likely ######### (which you should be).
