  • As long as we get a different Resident Evil map or a reworked version of RPD, then I'd be fine. But if we're just going to delete it and give it some generic replacement or not even replace it at all, then I wouldn't go for that at all.

  • Nemesis becomes god.

I wouldn’t blame you tbh, I’ve never seen other games suffer on console as much as DBD.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 actually hits 0 FPS even on the PS5 version.

  • I'm not sure the devs can actually fix it. Honestly I think console was always just a cash grab and that the only reason the game runs so well on current gen is because those consoles are strong enough to brute force their way past DBD's problems. The devs didn't do anything special to it and just got saved by the consoles' upgraded hardware. As long as people continue to blindly ignore the issues and play DBD on last gen consoles and buy cosmetics/DLC for it, it'll stay in its current state. Even then, the devs can just go tell people to buy a current gen console even though they still aren't easy to get ahold of. Also I think for a game to stop being sold completely, it would need to be in a worse state than last gen DBD. Think launch Cyberpunk 2077 but worse.

I've also been wondering if the poor state of last gen consoles is part of the reason that we don't have last gen console cross-progression. So many people would switch to PC (unless they get lucky and secure a current gen console) and turn last gen consoles into a barren wasteland.

  • Yeah... except the chances of BHVR actually doing that and not making the map even worse are pretty much zero.

  • Have fun being slugged then.

  • The lack of care and understanding towards many of the game’s problems. Community members come up with great ideas only to get rejected most of the time because “tHe NuMbErZ”. Sometimes I wonder if we’re playing a different game or if the devs have their own vision for the game that has many nonsensical decisions. They also haven’t addressed the recent wave of DDOS attacks yet.

  • Oh #########, how much worse are they going to make it? Breakable walls in the houses? Several pallets in the houses? Both?! These reworks almost always turn out #########.

  • It’s just the devs continuing to show that they don’t understand the game. Not surprising at all.

  • Maybe. Originally I wasn’t going to but I might play for the first few days because Haddonfield and Cowshed are disabled according to the patch notes. That almost makes up for the lack of understanding shown through the add-on nerfs. Almost.

I'm a little baffled why have a Q&A at all if they can't or won't answer 80% of the questions asked.

At the very least, pick questions that can be answered?

So far, I've got "bots won't replace DCed players because we want this game to be humans-only", "coh will be nerfed (but not enough to stop it being broken)", and "we do baffling addon nerfs because at high MMR these killers are too powerful," and "we don't plan on improving Myers at this time" as actual answers. Everything else has been a non-answer.

Did they actually give that as a reason for nerfing Nemesis, Clown, and Twins?! Have they ignored pretty much everyone that plays at high MMR?

  • I want his OG Stage 2. It's not animalistic like in the remake so it can work in DBD.

  • I don't respect Hag or Ghostface. Nobody likes slowly crouching up to a hook or getting instadowned because of how inconsistent his reveal is. Hopefully that's included in his future changes.

  • Buffs? Yes. He's nowhere near to pay to lose though. The rocket launcher is probably never going to happen because it wouldn't fit DBD. Just because RE Resistance is a 4v1 game doesn't mean as much as people like to think it does.

Rework? No, he's not bad enough to need one. If you're having trouble as him, you might need to look at your gameplay and/or loadout as well as your opponents. Like anyone not named Nurse or Blight, he falters against good Survivors.

I can understand the Marvin's blood nerf, that addon was too good for being a yellow one. But the nerf to the increased speed addon for zombies is a non-sense, that addon doesn't felt broken in any moment and served as a little compensation for the zombies getting bugged against rock, trees, walls, etc so frequently.

If the rarity is an issue then why not increase it? Just switch its rarity with something like Licker Tongue. I think everyone would have preferred that instead of a numbers nerf.

    @Phasmamain said:

How even impactful is the Marvin blood nerf? I know it takes two unique tentacle hits to get to tier 2 with it currently

From what I'm reading you can't get to tier 2 within the first chase anymore. It might not sound like a big deal at first, but considering how much Nemesis already has going against him and how important the early game can be as Killer, it can hurt him pretty badly.

  • @Norhc said:

Don't get your hopes up. The devs of this video game are something else.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting them to do anything. I'd have been surprised if he gotten some kind of compensation for the Marvin's Blood nerf.

    @Massquwatt said:

I seriously hope they'll have more changes lined up for his addons too because there's just so many that only need a little extra something to make them so much better. Like Jill's sandwich, just add on a loud noise notification when people begin to open the vaccine chests. Or make Licker's Tongue last for at least half a second. And for the vines, I dunno, just give them an extra 4 seconds on top of the chest opening or something I guess. Like I want to be clear, I don't like having to rely on Marvin's blood so much but there has to be some kinda compromise here like giving Nemesis just a little extra infection basekit or giving you half the infection points whenever zombies infect/attack someone. Just something like that would make him nicer to play.

Unsurprisingly they didn't give Nemesis any more changes. No compensation at all for Marvin's Blood. There's still the chance that the devs could do something when the patch goes to the live build but I doubt it. The devs seem determined to nerf some of his only good add-ons just because people like using them (which makes sense considering there's not much else he can use).

  • I played them three times for their Adept and was so confused on how they were supposed to do anything. With every other Killer, I could get some idea of how they could do good and what to do with them, but Twins baffled me. Am I really supposed to just camp all game with them? If so, then that's incredibly boring.

  • Their solution to the Bubba face mask problem is barely going to have an impact. It wasn’t the masks that were the problem, it was the players.

Also did they seriously nerf Nemesis? No wonder we haven’t gotten any good buffs for him, they thought he needed nerfing. Like did any decent player think Marvin’s Blood actually needed a nerf at all?

  • ######### everyone, I'm getting my challenge done. That's all that matters to me at that point.

  • So would I, however that would show us just show crappy the MMR system actually is.

  • I used to play in the early morning (like from 1-5 AM EST), and it was absolute hell. Everyone was sweaty to the max and I hated it. Now I play in the evening, which is kind of a toss up. You'll definitely get fair games, but sometimes you'll find super sweaty smurfs (people with 100-200 hours that get with their 1000+ hour teammates and just play as sweaty as they can) or subtle hackers. I haven't played in the afternoon yet, hopefully that'll be a better experience (whenever I decide to play DBD again, right now I'm just mainly logging in for the bonuses).

  • Because they don't want to get caught. It can be almost impossible to tell apart a subtle hack from legitimate gameplay, meaning that there's a much lower chance of them getting reported and banned.

  • I hope we can pick our role. I absolutely HATED that about Friday the 13th.

  • This could have been Nemesis.

  • Nemesis main here.

You don't. You pray that you can at least get some BP or make some progress towards a challenge.

  • I'll miss Hawkins. I already bought all the cosmetics when they were on sale for the ST characters and the ST Edition for PC in case I ever switch to there.

  • How long would your reduced speed boost be? One of his biggest problems is that speed boost allowing the Survivors to get so far. I was thinking about removing the speed boost completely because of how much that extra speed boost can hurt Nemesis.

Also do you think his tentacle hitboxes would still need to require perfect accuracy if you can't/don't drag them?

  • Why are you trying to completely destroy last gen consoles? This is exactly how you do that. They already struggle enough with the current graphics.

  • Wraith, Doctor, Nemesis (I tend to see more about him on Twitter than anywhere else), and Plague.

  • Ghostface: Buggy reveal can give him insta downs that he didn’t deserve.

Hag: Crouch walking is soooo slooow.

Trapper: I don’t see how getting hooked just because I happened to pick the wrong loop is fun. This will probably have to stay if the devs don’t completely rework him though. The only ways I can think of to change him will result in a nerf, which he definitely doesn’t need.

  • I’m pretty sure I had at least 100 offerings but only got 100k BP. I had considered that you just needed a ton of offerings to be eligible for additional BP but based on the experiences I’m reading about, it seems like a glitch happened and it’s now randomly giving people BP.

  • I just logged in and only got 100k. I’m pretty sure I had at least 100 offerings (I wish they’d tell us exactly how many offerings we had before the removal). So either something is getting messed up for certain people or you needed a lot of offerings to qualify for bonuses.

  • How are they calculating the amount of BP you get? Some people probably have over a thousand of these, are they getting 4-5 million BP?

  • Yes, so we can see if it's working properly (which I would not be surprised if it isn't).

  • I already own the characters but I'll miss the Hawkins map.

  • We understand, but why should we care, especially after the devs said that one kill now counts as a win?

  • Oh hell no! This is complete BS. Dead Hard should not be eating M2s like this. Nemesis’s is supposed to break the pallet if it doesn’t hit a Survivor so how the hell does Dead Hard block that too?

  • On controller his aiming is horrific. I tried throwing knives at very close range only to have like half of them miss even though I was looking directly at the Survivor. I was in complete shock over how bad he actually is.

  • I don't think they're working properly. I've been blinded in the back or side of my head (nowhere near the blind spot) before. One time I was playing Trickster and I was walking away from a flashlight only to see my screen begin to fill up even though I was fully turned away from them and walking away. The Survivor knew it was happening because they didn't let go of the button. The blind effect stopped filling up after a few seconds, but that really caught me off guard because I thought it was supposed to be impossible to flashlight a Killer from behind. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get as close as possible to a wall but you'd still get blinded even though you're utilizing one of the counters to flashlights.

  • Ah, that's right. Bubba is a loyal family member.

  • The MMR system has made me scared to try out new Killers outside of their Adepts and power trophies. I start getting more and more scared that I'm going to throw that Killer into hell with each passing match because of how horrible MMR is. That's already happened to Nemesis, Doc, and Wraith because of how much I used to play them before MMR came out. One kill equals a win now with the MMR system. I tried going for Spirit's trophies, and after three 4ks the game was already giving me Survivors with more than 2k hours. Three games. That was enough for the game to go "ok you're a god". Imagine if I was a weaker Killer like Billy or new to Killer in general. I could've just picked up the game, played for maybe an hour and the game already thinks I'm some kind of god. That'd be a horrible first experience with the game.

  • Really? This again? This is like the 20540th thread on this subject. If this isn't bait, then all Leatherface cares about is faces, not their color. If he sees you with your face still attached, then he will come for it no matter who you are.

  • It's to permanently remove Boon perks.

  • Didn't the devs say that one kill actually counts as a win for MMR and that camping is a legitimate strategy? He's just doing what he can to win, even though it's incredibly boring and I don't get how people are able to sit there for 120 seconds doing nothing.

Also, it's Haddonfield, camping and tunneling is understandable with how much of a mess that map is for Killers.

  • His tentacle hitbox is actually incredibly small and requires perfect aim to hit with (and also isn't the best at registering). However, he can drag his hitbox by moving to the left or right (which may or not be intentional, the devs haven't said anything on it at all). Crouching behind objects can really help you avoid it. Here's a video explanation of this from Otzdarva:

The zombie AI is terrible and they just stare at something half of the time. The only time they can actually pose a threat is if Nemesis is also there so you have choose who to get hit by or if they happen to approach the gen you're working on. They're way too slow to actually do anything. You can easily outrun them if they start chasing you.

  • He's in the middle of the pack, nowhere near the bottom.

His tentacle makes safe spaces unsafe but the hitboxes are way too unforgiving. I'm not sure if it's to encourage the drag tech or to make sure new Survivors don't throw a fit and leave or what but they need fixing. I've had instances where my tentacle touches the Survivor but because they weren't directly in the center it didn't count. On a game at Haddonfield, I saw the tentacle physically touch the standing (not crouched) Survivor but for some reason the game didn't register it and decided to hit the bench instead. That's just bad game design right there.

The zombies can give you info and stop a gen long enough for you to defend it, but their AI is horrific. If their AI really was one of the major reasons that last gen console performance was so bad when Nemesis released, then the devs either need to figure out how to optimize last gen consoles or consider more drastic options. They might have just nerfed a Killer because older consoles were struggling to run the game, which really sucks.

The lack of movement speed options can really hurt as he has to run at 115% everywhere he goes. He can't zoom over to a gen halfway across the map to stop it from getting done or quickly intercept an unhook.

  • They do, but at really low levels and probably with only certain characters. I'm not sure if DBD mobile is different when it comes to balancing or how buggy it is, but they do give out a ton of BP events to help with the grind.

  • The mobile team isn't anywhere near as protective of BP as the PC/console team is. Why? I have no clue. Maybe the mobile team is made up out of a lot of PC/console players who know how bad the grind is so they're doing a bunch of BP events. It makes me wonder what would happen if mobile and PC/console switched teams. Would mobile suddenly stop getting a crap ton of BP events?
