  • to be frank, I hesitate to believe you d purely off poor connection to rack up a 5 hour ban. And if it is, at some point you need to realise your connection just isnt going to cut it. And you end up affecting the experiences of others, which can be especially frustrating for them if they only have a limited amount of time to play. It's not the games fault for punishing people for repeatedly ruining the experience of others.

  • monthly grade resets dont affect your mmr -_-

  • part of the issue probably stems from the fact the game doesnt allow for you to have much in the way of fun when you take the game chill. Especially as a killer. If you're at high mmr, and want to just chill as a killer, you'll get 1 or maybe 2 hooks before the exit gates are open. It doesn't matter who you are, but thats just not enjoyable. I don't mind lowing at all, but when survivors are sweating it out when I'm just chilling and I literally dont even get to play the match I don't have fun. It feels almost mandatory that you need to tryhard to get enjoyment.

  • @scenekiller said:

If you define a win by 4ks only, then I guess this makes sense. More power to you.

I can't see how thinking you should get a 4k every single match would be any fun or realistic, though. Just sounds like self-induced stress.

I think OPs point is that they get fun from playing to win, however most the killers just aren't competitive enough to even try. What's the point in try to pull a W with killers who are near impossible to play at higher levels.

The problem is not that they're doing it, but that they can do it in the first place. Also, I'm pretty sure that if 4 survivors did this it would be imposible for the killer to counter it. For example, the middle of midwich map has at least 2 sets of double lockers nearby, so a 4man swf could potentially abuse this to hold the game hostage.

Again, the problem is that this is even doable in the first place, which is why I think it should be fixed.

ok but consider, in this hypothetical situation that will literally never happen. flashlights don't have infinite use, they can only flash you for so long as frustrating as it is. On top of that if all 4 are in a locker, that means they're not gonna win, because none of them are doing gens lol. So they can only flash light save for so long. You could also just leave them and if they refuse to play and sit afk in the lockers just report them for holding the game hostage... Otherwise, it just sounds like survivors having fun...

  • why are you letting those survivors have their way? If they're both in a locker, they're not on gens and you're just wasting time. Also the frequency something like that happens is so incredibly low, it really is a non-issue.

  • I think the argument of it helps you see survivors trying to hide is a little weak given than in almost all circumstances hiding from the killer is the last thing survivors do, and also when they do hide it's almost always behind an object, not in a killers direct FoV.

I don't see how adding an FoV slider would negatively affect the game. Plenty of other games where FoV is much more impactful have absolutely no issue with it. So why is DBD any different? As OP said, Shadowborn is far from a meta perk, and the people who run it do so for the quality of life aspect, not because it takes their gameplay to the next level.

Some killers feel much better to play with higher FoVs, and not even in a way that makes them more powerful, just in a way that makes them play smoother. Pyramid Head for example, is a much smoother killer to play with Shadowborn, despite the fact he doesnt need the perk. It would just be a nice QoL feature to have. In the same way Pig got her combat straps made basekit that one time, or now with Plague getting increased ms with her Purge. It doesn't inherently strengthen the killer from their current state, but it just feels nice.

As a side note it would be great if we knew what the FoV actually was too. The wiki states 87 degrees, but almost everybody agrees that the FoV is between 60 and 70. The lack of a trusted answer just makes the desire for an FoV slider greater. The ambiguity of what the FoV is, is quite frustrating.

Talking of things that have no bearing on your life, t-bagging and flashlight flicking. But here you are, mad af over it.

I hate it when survivors hurt my feely wheelies when they press a button a few times :(

"Tryhard killer" *me using no meta perk except BBQ (for stonks), not tunneling or camping and getting 12hooks, while they run all the same 4 meta perks and iri addons on items.

oh dude, in the game prior to the one I mentioned in my op, the streamer called a Clown a tryhard meta slave, despite the clown using STBL, Bamboozle, Pop and Iron Grasp, very meta build on a very meta killer xd

We have seen him fill in the report forms on stream.

This would've been helpful to know earlier, just FYI.

You do you, we can't change how you see the game or what is happening around you.

And this rings hollow when you withhold relevant information like that.

yes... someone having their living destroyed by cheaters would just let it go without caring.

Many people on the forum have claimed that streamers keep telling their viewers not to report, so, yes, they would.

streamers often say not to bother reporting because the chances of anything being done about it are so low. It's just a waste of time.

  • there's not even a point in banning them, not until they get better anti-cheat (which will probably be never) It's also impossibly easy for people to obtain hacks for the game in the first place. There's nothing subtle about where they get them. And until a better anti-cheat is added hackers will just just alt accounts and buy the same hacks again and again.

No, Trapper is double s tier. He is just so far ahead of Nurse that nobody will play Nurse ever again once this super saiyan buff comes through.

there was actually a hidden rework to trapper that was data mined this ptb which puts him in S+++

the ability name is "Glock" "The trapper spawns in the trail with a glock 17, shooting a healthy survivor will remove a health state and shooting an injured survivor will kill them."

  • Save The Best For Last, Bamboozle, I'm All Ears, Coup De Grace. Those are three perks that are very nice on Mike. I wouldn't recommend running them all simultaneously, except maybe STBL and Bamboozle. But you should probably just run the one which tickles you fancy the most. They're all great perks for either antiloop or crowd control.

Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt Intervention. These two perks are a necessity for Mike. They make his early game way less painful. Especially on big maps where it's hard to fund survivors. Lethal lets you find them right at the start letting you get out of t1 as fast as possible. While also not letting gens fly because of corrupt.

Spirit Fury, Enduring, Brutal Strength. Any of these perks are great for him around pallets, they allow you to have much more pressure in chase as predropping pallets will be way less effective. Spirit Fury especially, when it's active you just dont need to respect pallets, which when you're in T3 is key.

  • it's like I've said time and time again to my friends. The map is amazing for an RE game, but it is awful for DBD.

  • I love Devour Hope so much, even as a single hex with no undying or that. It feels incredibly rewarding and is hilarious when you can just sense the "oh #########" moment when all the survivors become exposed. And the same is true when I play survivor and me and my friends all just go into sheer panic mode when it shows up XD

  • can we get some hackers that do something useful with their lives and unnerf Pyramid Heads booty?

You can't type kill, in killer game.

I think Yun-Jin is also censored.

It's funny when forum has better filter than actual game...

I think the censor filter they have in game is actually hooked up to a dictionary and a random number generator. Every time it detects a word it rolls a number, and if the number matches that words place in the dictionary it gets censored. The only explanation

  • Streamer I was watching the other day had "Hawkins" censored when he was talking about the map to one of the survivors.

    Thats how to play cannibal

don't forget step 4. receive fan mail :)

  • Both are equally good imo, but I think I have a preference for the new one. I think the new one sounds a little more distressing, where as the original from the PTB is more atmospheric, I don't think it carries the same sense of urgency the new one had for a chase. Although if it were just his terror radius music, then that would be a sick transition.

She moves slower than survivors. You can outrun a nurse that doesn't blink. She needs her blinks to do any damage. Most blinks are bugged to hell and you never go even where flannel tells you either

if you're outrunning a Nurse, or being outrunned as Nurse, then the issue isn't with her. She's broken af.

  • @Junylar said:

Just use RPD/Midwich/Haddonfield/Swamp offering, and your totems will stand untouched until the end of the game.

implying anybody wants to play on RPD

  • "spamming his silent bell" what else do you want Wraith to do? Just stare at you?

  • Nemesis, when you hit mutation tier 2 and 3, you feel unstoppable in chases.

  • The changes to Spirit are long overdue, the issue with wasn't just that she was extraordinarily powerful, but also that she just wasn't fun to play against. Her ability just caused frustration in almost all survivor players, myself included. And from a killer perspective was very, very strong, despite not having a skill floor near the level of Nurse.

A good Nurse you can put respect on for being good as she is very hard to play, however Spirit had no such drawback. Of course there is nuance to her ability which takes time to learn, but that comes with EVERY killer. She however doesn't require much mechanical skill, only game sense.

That's why I think Spirit changes are more than deserved, as now she'll be more fun to play as, and more difficult to master, whilst still being a very strong killer. There's having strong killers like Plague, Oni and Pyramid Head, who have counterplay and are enjoyable to face. then there's Nurse and Spirit.

  • I'm so confused. What's the issue? Jill has the same head on both skins in game, and in RE3... her hairstyle never changed.

  • my friend who mains Blight on console says that the compound 17 addon was an absolute lifesaver for him. Maybe try giving it a shot? Until you figure out the underlying problem with the aiming that is.

  • if you sit infront of your Ruin the entire game as Insidious bubba they can never cleanse it

No, it makes sense to get better at the game, so the gens do not fly by. I am not the greatest killer, in fact I can count the amount of killer games I have played on my fingers, but I can get kills without having to camp or tunnel. Sometimes I get the same survivor twice in a row, because I happen upon them. It is not an excuse that because you are bad at the game, you have to take this option.

Play more hours, try a different killer, try different perks, watch video's of other players, record your games and see where you go wrong. There is nothing wrong with either team winning or trying to win. Killers who camp are all to quick to use the excuse "I was gen rushed", then move around the map more, pressure the killers to leave gens and then damage them. Yes there will be games where the whole team gets out, but that is life. If you win every game then the game needs to be changed big style.

good for you, you haven't played at the higher levels, where if you don't camp or tunnel, you will get slapped 7 ways in 3 seconds. I think you miss the part where sometimes survivors put you in situations where camping and tunnelling are your only choices for a kill, it doesn't matter how good you are as a killer, these situations are inevitable. Watch literally any of the best killer players and they will have games where camping and tunnelling are the play to make.

If you honestly think killers who camp need to get good, then there is some very poor fundamental understanding of the higher levels of play. If you've barely played killer, I don't know how I can ever expect you to understand. Go play a few hundred hours of killer, and come back to me saying tunneling and camping isn't a viable strategy

Yeah people tend to do that when the other person directly cites other perks to turn off in response to the one the OP is suggesting needs to be tweaked.....

Plaything isn't some "fun perk" or part of some goofy build. It's a solid perk either way and good for snowballing. Objectively has massive synergy with Pigs active traps. In a way that...kindddaaa removes all gameplay from the survivor side of things when trying to GET the RBT off. I thinlk thats an issue.

you make it sound like Plaything stops survivors from searching boxes. If this combo is such a big problem for you, I have a solution. ✨Spinechill✨ There's no issue with a Pig running plaything, because she's still objectively one of the if nit the worst killer in the game. Plaything doesn't enable her to instadown, or give her information or help on the majority of loops, especially against good players. All it does is give her some extra slowdown as people need to be more weary at boxes. Which btw is completely countered by coms, if somebody is telling you where she is then boom, no need to worry about being Oblivious.

  • I think the matchmaker, so the system behind the sbmm and how the mmr works is really well done. and it is absolutely fantastic at what it's supposed to do. However that said, I think it goes to show why a dedicated skill ranking system doesnt work in a game like this. When you start ranking players they all wind up in a sport where they need to try as hard as they can, else they get demolished. Which just isn't fun. You can lose and have fun absolutely, but if you're at an mmr where you can barely hold your head above water then the fun value gets ripped away. It's why I now think they should consider just removing any form of matchmaker in favour of just completely random lobbies. So you never know what you're going to be up against. It would be way more fair on people who want to play casually.

The Dev stream lol. “We don’t show MMR because we don’t want you guys to brag, but here is your red rank emblem with diamond on it” - If you believe that then I’m not sure what to tell ya. They don’t show it because the system probably isn’t very good ATM.

I cant tell of this is bait or not. But you realise the emblems are just to show people how much youve played in a given month to give some extra bloodpoints, right? It has nothing to do with skill... If you think the community would benefit from seeing their mmr, then there's an issue here.

I highly doubt they don’t show us MMR to avoid bragging lol. Your initial reply was rude, and what you’ve told me just now is your own speculation, rather then fact. You get treated how you treat others.

Did you not even read what I said and process it at all? Lol how am I supposed to know what skill level I’m playing at and if I’m being matched with the appropriate players if our emblems mean nothing and we don’t see our MMR?

Explain that to me since you’re so good at contributing lol

well since you seem to be a real polite work of sunshine, they don't want us to see our mmr, because the community is already toxic enough. Giving people the ability to brag about or shame others for their mmr is a horrible idea. The last thing we need is more elitism. You're welcome :)

  • grades have nothing to do with mmr... how many times we got to say it?

  • Did we read the same reaction to the patchnotes? I'm pretty sure almost everybody is very happy with most of the changes...

  • I'd love the BP bonus to be base. It'd both help shorten the abysmal grind while also promoting good gameplay! Ever notice killers using BBQ and survivors with WGLF are almost always more competent teammates/killers than those without

  • I'm so confused as to what OP wants now...

  • makes a thread about NOED

me: makes a comment about NOED

    "UnReLaTeD cOmMeNt"

if your mmr goes up because if NOED that's on fault of the survivors you face, not you for running NOED. Kills are kills, it doesnt matter at what part of the match.

Its funny, to the most of my knowledge this was made by a single person, sure assets may be flipped from the engine they're using but that's not the point. With over 700+ employees, with who knows how many in graphical departments, its a shame that Behaviour is outshined by a single fan.

only issue is that BHVR isn't a single fan. They're a company, with plans and deadlines set up to a year in advance. They can't just drop what they're working on to improve the graphics to such an extent. It would require a ton of preplanning and a huge time investment. Designing a game is much more difficult than people give them credit for. Especially as a company, and not a passion project. Also don't forget, DBD isn't the only game they work on, be it their own IP or they're contracted to help design another. Something as redundant as a graphics overhaul just isn't a practical goal for the company to strive toward, especially with the games current state.

Now as for the video itself, I think it looks neat, but my god it would be so hard to play on, trying to keep track of survivors in such a dark environment would be impossible. Also like many others were saying, take away the music and the name and you've got yourself a generic passion project horror game.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 21
