If they were boring, less people would play as killer. But the reality says otherwise: as much as killer mains like to cry about "playing killer is boring" and "survivors are OP", they still only play killers because they know soloQ is hell they want nothing to do with.
not inherently. People will continue to play killer despite it being boring because there's no better alternative.
-
@Junylar said:
According to the queue times during daytime - nope, playing as killer is still popular, much more popular than playing as survivor.
nobody said they were less popular. OP asked if it was getting boring and implied unfun.

So let's protect the PC players because it's demeaning? I'm sorry what? They're literally playing in higher frames, sensitivity and general better movement and skill overall & like i said on top of that they generally getting better ping than console, this happens on every game. I play this game on PC aswell and my ping is about 20 less than on console. I can feel how much easier or fair the game is on PC. Furthermore as for your statement regarding people who have issues with other platforms are the not the best at the game...is yourself being demeaning to a justified statement about PC players.
But what a surprise someone replies with a "oh you're not good at the game"...because people can't be good at the game and have an opinion on issues with it apparently. If you want to actually see if i'm good at the game or not you can go watch any of my streams on my channel & you'll see for yourself even I know i'm one of the better players on this game.
Incredible. Everything you said was wrong. The advantages that pc players get over console players aren't as significant one might think. Not in this game. And the "they have higher frames" is such a non-arguement as the frame rates pc players would play on over console aren't even perceptible to the human eye.
I'm not saying "protect pc players" I'm saying you demean them by implying they have an unfair advantage which just isn't the case with some minor exceptions such as Huntress. However all those advantages are nothing in the face of skill. I was a very strong Pyramid Head player on console and at higher levels of play the difference in playstyle between PC and console is literally negligible. Because the platform you play on is not indicative of skill.
It's also important to note, the game you play has nothing to do with your ping. That's to do with your hardware and isp. In my experience too, a whole 20 ping doesn't impact gameplay nearly at all unless that 20 is starting to jump you up over 100 ping. In which case that's a you problem, not a game problem.
Also explain to me how I'm being demeaning by saying that the platform a pc player uses isn't indicative of how well they play a game? I'm making a factual statement. I'm not saying oh you can only be good at the game if you're on pc like a certain somebody is. You're suggesting the reason why you lose to people is because they play on pc, that if you play against console players you'll have an easier time, which just isn't true. And if it were it wouldn't be for any of the reasons you've suggested above. Namely down to console players being more casual than pc, so regardless of hardware a pc player is more likely to be good at the game because they take gaming more seriously than your average console player. Which once again, just loops back around to everything being a skill issue.
I also love your humility. a very good sign of skill. Anyway, it doesn't matter how good you are at the game and it has nothing to do with their platform. It's all on part of the player. If you're going to slander a platform, at least use the correct arguments. Had you said pc players get an advantage because console has poor optimisation, then yes I would agree there. However even that isn't at fault of pc, that's a BHVR issue.
Pointing fingers at other platforms for your problems is merely shifting the blame off yourself and in my honest opinion an excuse for poor play.

Makes ya wonder what exactly would be considered a healthy Killer design...
one that heals survivors when you hit them.

@Myla said:
Couldn't you just turn off cross-play? Am I missing something here?
turning cross play off will stop you playing with the other console platform too though. So you can't have a console exclusive mm. That said, I don't particularly agree with the idea of being able to target one platform specifically to not play with. That's just asking to breed toxicity and prejudice over literally nothing. Most people who have an issue with "other platforms" often tend to not be the best at the game.
Currently the only argument you can make for turning off crossplay is to avoid hackers. Any other argument is just a generalised statement demeaning other platforms not for player skill, but for platform choice.

Honestly the only problem i have is when threads like this are made, then the OP just stops responding and goes and makes another thread in like a day or two and repeats the process
These aren't discussions
this too, precisely. He could simply continue the discussion in the original threads he made, however instead decides to not engage in his own discussions at all. And merely creating a new thread about a second issue which could have been debated in the original thread.

That's your assumption, they are not breaking any rule by just sharing their opinions, but there are users who specifically target them to belittle them and their ideas.
There's a big difference between discussing and insulting, if you want to prove them wrong, then you can share your argument and explain why you disagree with them, however it happens way too often that they get dismissed as "troll" just because their idea doesn't align with a majority of users.
I'm sorry, but I feel that there's a line to be distinguished between having an opinion and having argumentative posts. Many of the threads and comments they've made are objectively wrong, dismissive of valid counter points and almost always on hotly debated topics with certain word choices I feel are intended to get a rise out of people. There are also certain ways they conduct themselves on the forums. For example creating contentious threads such as this one, and then not even participating in the discourse. Most likely because they are aware of the reaction they'll get from people. A quick look through near all their discussions will show they have made countless controversial posts. And almost always of which are in denial of the actual state of the game, or actual issues. You don't become synonymous for being a troll among the community simply by having a differing opinion.
-
I'm not sure what the excuse would be for a lack of PTB considering there's an example of a PTB in Player Unknowns: Battlegounds which has a console PTB. And I would absolutely prefer the delay in an update drop by a few weeks if it meant the update didn't make the game unplayable for the several days to weeks after update launch.
-
don't forget, unhooking, grabbing and swapping killers in menu also cause frame drops and freezing :)

Exactly my thoughts. RPD is at least awful for everyone and a bit different. Haddonfield is so unbalanced.
yea as awful as the map is, I've at least had good games cuz it's just awful for everybody, not just killer. Haddonfield can just get Alt+F4'd from the game
-
Stop doing gens, and we'll stop tunnelling :)
-
Dead Hard buff: If you Dead Hard into the killer, instantly ends them, uninstalling the game from their pc and ending the trial. All survivors gain 32k points.
There, I fixed DH for you :)

"vommy mommy is fun and strong"
behaviour:***rubbing their hands with malicious intent.
next patch: **we noticed that the plague was a bit too toxic( pun---laugh--eh;eh;eh;)in many ways, so we decided to made some changes and heal her, now she will no longer vomit, but rather she'll eject flowers since she's now a hippy" make love not kills <3
proceeds to cry
-
Demogorgon is hands down the most fun killer to face as a survivor imo. The mix of chase pressure, the few jumpscares, and his general presence from his appearance, stompy stomps and tr music make him an absolute joy to play against.
-
Vommy Mommy is pretty top tier at the moment anyway and very fun to play. Which is rare, a fun to play killer that is good.
-
whats the name of the rocky demo skin, geo- something. I got it and loved it
-
Dont blame the Pig, blame your teammates for stealthing. Both in my experience and watching others with her, there are countless times where you're left no choice but to tunnel somebody with an RBT because there's just nobody else to chase and often survivors with an RBT are running around franticly and so are easier to find.
-
ha, no.
-
Clown. He is simply the most boring killer in the game and is nothing but frustrating to okay against as a survivor. There's nothing "fun" about how his ability works, and to add insult to injury he isn't even good. His bottle throwing feels awful and he is the most linear and brainded killer in the game.

games I have that run better are and haven't been mentioned.
- Battlefield 4 and V,
- Fallout 4,
- No Mans Sky,
- Stellaris,
- Warframe,

- Black Ops III,
- Planet Side 2 (which is 100 v 100 v 100 games mind.),

With every major update the game gets some new killer-sided mechanics (window blockers, less pallets on maps, weaker structures, bloodlust, regenerating hooks, unsaboable beartraps, middle vaults, removal of vacuums, BT nerf, SC nerf, 2 DS nerfs, get regression, the ability to close the hatch, EGC, faster killer animations for hooks, pickups, vaults and trap sets, DC punishments, weakening of every possible loop on every possible map, the list goes on forever), but yeah, the devs are definitely sided with survivors!
all that just for survivors to still be the power role ;)
-
who is Hellraiser?
-
eating M1s sure, w/e. I really don't think it should eat M2s tho. It should dodge M2s, so side dodging a huntress hatchet or out if range of slingers spear and PH's POTD. But it shouldn't be able to eat them outright.

Head On is a high risk high reward perk. It's fine as it is, it takes skill to use.
The only change it needs is the ability to see auras of lockers while not exhausted.
It'd be nice if when your head on was ready the aura of the locker you're in would be shown to teammates within say 32 meters, so they know you're set up for a head-on play.
-
I highly recommend him as a killer, but just note you'll only really get to play with his base powers as his addons are straight up TRASH. But yea he's a fine killer and there's not too much nuance to his abilities or how to play him. He will teach you patience too and baiting with powers. Not a bad choice at all.

Her having no chase power if good survivors don’t cleanse. An amazing survivor can just lead an M1 killer on for 5 gens or more. It’s the same reason pig is F tier. The only thing which makes plague C or D tier is if one person does cleanse the whole team can die but against a good meta team she’s also F tier.
if survivors don't clease then they basically give the Plague an instadown M1 while they're easier to track. It's harder to loop for long periods of time when you can only take 1 hit. And it means if survivors make one slip up they will go down. It also makes going for saves riskier as you cant take a hit to unhook, or take a hit to get a teammate out. She also has a free pool of corruption which if used properly can easily allow her to snowball. Then if survivors do cleanse she becomes an incredibly powerful ranged killer.
If you believe she is a low tier killer then you've just not met a good Plague, or you yourself don't know how to play her.

one platform is not superior than the other. It's all contextual. In a lot of shooter games a mouse and keyboard is better because it allows for more precise aiming. However a controller is better for fighting games such as Mortal Kombat. There's also the issue of preference, some people myself included prefer using a controller to MnK and preference makes a big difference in terms of how well you do with it. Personal skill comes into the mix too as there are some amazing controller players in big fps games that can dab on MnK.
In terms of hardware PC can be better than console, however you'll be extremely hard pressed to find a pc that will last as long as a console with any where near as good performance for the same price. Also consoles are more accessible and convenient than pc's are. So more casual people will be drawn to a console as they can just plug in and play, there's very little to no setup required to begin playing. But PC has a wider range of games and optimisations that are for the more hardcore gamers.
So really one being better than the other comes down to you personally. For me a console is better as I want the convenience and to use a controller with no hassle. For some of my friends a PC is better for them as they want to spend the big bucks for the best experience they can get. There are crossplatform games we play where some they're better and and others I'm better at. It's not such a black and white topic like so many want you to believe.
edit: to those who say "console players are always bad" 1. you probably have confirmation bias, so you see a console do bad and it conforms to your thoughts of console players bad, however you never realise when they do well. And so it feeds into that mindset. 2. Keep in mind consoles are namely marketed to more casual players who dont take games as seriously as others and so you'll get a lot more casual console players.

damn, I guess Nurse, Spirit and Blight are C-D tier too
-
@kate_best_girl said:
No she’s still pretty much C-D tier
what makes her C-D tier?
-
Removed Pigs RBTs and increased her Ambush charge by .5 seconds.
-
just die on hook? basically the same outcome, also god forbid the killer try kill you as fast as possible to also move on...
-
one of the biggest killers for tension was BHVRs god awful reworks of the maps. By this I mean the damn lighting, all the maps feel like they're daytime, and coldwind literally IS daytime. Which doesn't even fit with the games own title! But seriously, I much preferred the maps back in 2018-2019 when they were way darker and the fogs colour matched the map and wasn't a generic grey dust effect. How the ######### am I supposed to get scared when it's midday? Light ruins horror.

As the only perk that gives a reason to clease dull totems it is the STRONGEST killer perk in the game
Every time a survivor thinks or looks for or cleanses a dull totem NOED has had an effect on that match.
Noed needs to changed completely and Dull totems need an intrinsic gameplay effect
NOED is far from the strongest killer perk in the game. It's strong, sure. but it's not even near the level of perks like Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer and No Way Out among others. You don't get any value until all the gens are done, and it's in the hands of survivors wether you get value from NOED or not.
Also run a perk like Inner Strength for your incentive to cleanse totems. Inner Strength is a fantastic perk.
-
Yes, it's fine.
There's no shortage of perks to counter it.
Also the argument that "survivors shouldnt need to waste time trying to get rid of a perk that may or may not be there." is the height of double standards, as killers have to waste time respecting DS, BT, DH, UB. All perks that survivors may or may not have.
-
@Artick said:
Sure, let's keep focusing on the 3 maps they have not updated yet where the totem spots are still bad and ignore the fact that the majority of maps where reworked and have good spots, especially the indoor maps.

Because the moment something requires a higher skill ceiling, no matter how slight, people will just give up and refuse to adapt
there's a difference between a high skill ceiling and whats fun. Nurse is incredibly hard, but she doesnt feel like ass to play. By most accounts Deathslinger is now seemingly just a worse Huntress. both practically and ergonomically.

They promoted it because it was part of the contract. That is normal in business deals even if you disagree with it.
They already said they don't sell NFTs and DBD won't have them.
it isn't about whether BHVR sell them or not, it's about the fact BHVR endorsed them, agreement or not they could have chosen to decline the deal. But instead they decided they want to help create and promote NFTs for a licence. BHVR has lost pretty much all their credit as a reputable company to a lot of people. Why? Because NFTs are ######### and BHVR never should have gotten involved. Have you seen the garbage they're going to be harming the environment for? and charging $250 for?
