  • we kid you not, these are the actual NFTs. You can go check them on boss protocols twitter account. Those are what you're paying 300 quid to get a receipt of. because remember NFTs dont give you exclusive rights to what you buy, just a receipt to confirm that was the particular image.

Yes your team stomped the killer to the point they had to camp in games 1/3 to stand a chance as they only had 3 hooks by the last generator.

For game 2 YOU could have been the cause of the camp by sneaking near the hook.

I don't see the point in this as every single last one is justified other then you gloating about winning hard enough to force a camp.

don't forget they have DS too, so if they get off the hook it's bye bye to that kill given the current position of the game.

probably PAEs last ditch attempt to make money before they lose the rights. Which calls into question, how will they continue to make new Pinhead NFTs like they've planned if they're going to lose the rights soon?

  • may I introduce to you, another Pig build which has no right being as fun as it is?

Perks: Plaything, Rancor, Enduring, [info perk of choice] I recommend Lethal or BBQ.

    Addons: Rule Set no2, Facemask.

The idea here is that when you put an RBT on a survivor they will not be able to either see their plaything totem, or the aura reading from Rancor. They will also be delayed in taking off their RBT as they cannot see the puzzle boxes until they're activated, which is what we want. We want them to be blinded for as long as possible. Enduring will let you simply disappear to a survivor after they drop a pallet on you, given your faster recovery they will have less time to escape you. It's impossibly fun and I highly recommend.

  • thank you for your service! now I can get pics I never wanted in the first place for free instead of a receipt for the picture costing €300!

You're comparing average players who stream this game for a living. 99% of the people who play this game are actually working for a living or getting some form of education. They dont have 8 hours a day to waste on this game in order to get the skills to curve saws, richette knives, or whatever the top streamer does.

Just because somebody is working a job for 8 hours a day doesn't mean they can't get better at a game. That's such a ridiculous excuse. Many of the issues people have with playing on maps that are bad aren't even related to motor skills either, it's game sense and game knowledge of knowing how to use your killer around certain tiles and maps. You don't need to play 30 hours a day to understand how you can play around tiles as a killer, that's what guides are for.

I've never understood this elitism mentality with DBD. This isnt some game that'll ever be an E-Sport contender. We've seen those dreams "Go to Valhalla" and rightly so. Most people play this game casually and if they dont want to deal with a map that makes them miserable they shouldnt be forced too.

Let people pick and choose their maps. Works for games like Depth.

what elitism are you talking about? I'm just pointing out a lot of the times people complain about a map being bad for X killer is generally just a skill issue. I'm not in favour of having certain killers get map rotations over others because of their ability. If that was the case then RPD should be banned for every killer. Whether or not the game is casual or competitive isn't the issue here. The issue is that people want to have certain maps disabled so they have an easier time as opposed to learning the killer they're on and how to play on X map. Every killer in the game has bad maps, except maybe Nurse. But just because it's a bad map for that killer doesn't make an excuse for why that map should be banned. A good player will still gave good games on maps that are bad for their killer.

  • I could see it being implemented for some perks such as sprint burst, adrenaline and dead hard. arguably lithe and balanced landing too. Definitely not for perks like Head On and Smash Hit. Whether or not it would be a good change is up for debate, but why not test it out for a weekend. The same way like when BHVR turned off bloodlust to see how killers fared.

Playing on maps that basically delete the killers power doesnt make them better at that specific killer. It might make them better at figuring out how to run tiles like a standard m1 killer, but it wouldn't make you a better huntress, billy, etc. Specifically, with Huntress, you are still hindered by being a 110 killer so it makes being reduced to an m1 killer extra rough.

there are no maps that "basically delete the killers power" there are just skill curves that need to be overcome. Go watch CoconutRTS play Huntress on Lery's. He still makes the map work because there are ways to play around the tiles that favour Huntress. Billy still has his insta downs and can flick at corners. Trickster with ricochet knives is absolutely disgusting on indoor maps. Trapper can still place traps in spots that will force survivors to leave the loop or pallet if they spot it. There's no shortage of ways for killers to preform on a map that is bad for them. And I think people who blame bad matches on the map are just making excuses.

At least the other reply to me made a decently valid point about builds. Maps can hinder builds if they specialised for a certain type of map. But that's not the killers problem, that's the builds.

  • Spooks N Jukes is a master of the basement Bubba

  • grades don't affect your mmr. It's just a monthly leveling system to gain some extra bloodpoints.

  • learning to play killers on maps they're bad on is part of the learning curve, and it's what separates the good players from the best players. So I don't think killers should influence map rotations.

This is about WHY so many killers do it, so it is connected to this thread.

There are 3 reasons why do it:

    1) survivors done multiple gens fast, so killer has feeling he needs to get someone from game asap to have chance to win

    2) killer is new and this is only tactic he knows and let's be honest, it just works really well against new players

    3) he just wants to drink from his cup filled with survivor's tears.

Camping can't really be fixed imo, there are times where it's not really killers fault and times where it is just best thing to do from his POV. Tunneling can be prevented by other survivors. What most survivors call "tunneling" is just not actual tunneling, it's just excuse to blame the killer.

survivors tears are pretty delicious lets not lie to ourselves

  • "grrr, I hate it when killers use valid strategies within the confines of the game! grrrr"

Camping and tunnelling are fine. There are perks to help against it, and there are ways to punish it. Run perks like BT, Deliverance, DS, Kindred, Second Wind, Camaraderie. There's no shortage of perks to help against those two strategies. It's also impossibly easy to punish a camper as teams can easily crank out 3 or even 4 gens in the time it takes to camp 1 person to death. If you're being tunnelled it's generally the same story when a killer tunnels you off a hook they're not putting a single ounce of pressure anywhere else on the map.

Also don't be the type of person to call a killer a camper or tunneller when your team divebomb the hook, or go for an unsafe unhook when the killer hasn't even walked away. of course the killer would go for the injured person he hooked literally 5 seconds ago because it's efficient. And of course the killer is going to stand infront of the hook and protect it when all three survivors are infront of him and not on gens.

I really feel like camping and tunnelling are issues predominantly complained about by survivors who have never played killer before or think the killers have to get 12 hooks, else they're toxic.

they don't intend on crashing out your console, but is a side effect if their actions. And I really doubt they care about how they affect your hardware

  • did you just necro a post from February 2020?

  • two content creators, Spooks n Jukes and Otzadarva. Both are very humble players who I recommend everybody watches.

Otzdarva is a very wholesome and strong player who makes very in-depth videos about the game from mechanics to killers to tierlists. He hands down makes the most informative videos on DBD, and you're guaranteed to learn something new everytime. Just watching his gameplay too, as opposed to his information videos is a great help, as you can also pick up tips to improve from following what he does.

Spooks N Jukes while not as strong a player is probably one of the most humble players on DBD, and I would absolutely recommend him if you're feeling frustrated as he has an incredibly sound outlook on the game. And for me personally completely changed how I see others players and how I deal with toxicity and frustration.

I feel in most other communities it's generally just elitist waffle. However here a lot of people are passionate about this game, and want to to succeed so badly, however as of late BHVR have made a series of poor choices and releases while not really doing any damage control and it has people, myself included frustrated. If BHVR would just step up to the mark and show the community some passion toward making this game great the community wouldn't be so bad.

Look to games like No Mans Sky, and absolutely fabulous community, most likely because the game is headed in a great direction and standing strong, with very transparent developers who show passion and drive to their community,

oh yeah I'm not saying you dont have experience so far your the only one that seems knowledgeable about it no offense what you are saying is absolutely correct and you are right that unplugging or turning off could cause the save data to corrupt I agree with you 100%

all I'm saying is ik cause I've corrupted the save data on my ps4 and ps4 multiple times that you can just restart it and it will wipe your data and build a new database which yeah you lose all your data which sucks but all the dbd data is stored server side so the first time you log back on you'll get it back of course you'll lose your data for other games

but as far as ik from all my years of experience there is no code or anything you can do technologically wise that will ever prevent a system from turning on and off

corrupt data sure, fry your graphics or wifi card sure but I've never seen anything that prevents a system from receiving power and turning on asides from a lightning strike

I've had the same issues myself with my PS4 thanks to power outtages, issues being my hard drive corrupting and god what a pain that was šŸ˜…

Now I will admit, I'm not 100% sure as to the specifics behind what causes a brick, to my knowledge it is directly related to failure within the firmware, and of course firmware can fail when a hard drive has corrupted. If the firmware isn't functioning properly and the system can't automatically fix or reset itself, then the device will "brick" to protect the rest of the system. Instead of trying to run the system on broken firmware. That's my understanding of it, correct me if I'm wrong. So I'm fully of the belief a simple crash could lead to a brick given certain circumstances.

I think it's of note to mention consoles bricking because of crashes is not unheard of, and is actually substantiated with Anthem, many players reported issues with the game bricking their consoles and the issue was promptly picked up by developers and confirmed by them to be the case. So I see no reason as to why people should claim any different here on DBD.

  • @Rhoska said:

"if the device is unplugged during a crash/freeze caused by a hacker."

Then its not caused by the hacker. Its caused by the user disconnecting power from the device whilst its performing critical writing tasks.

a task which was technically interrupt by a freeze/crash caused by the hacker. In a lot of cases the freezes or crashes will not end until power has been lost. And there's the associated risk of corrupting the device. That said, BHVR should still take it to heart and focus on dealing with hackers as nobody should be in a position where they have to take that associated risk just for being in a lobby with a hacker.

  • @GrayEyes said:

it's not true at all I already explained in another thread I'm probably one of the only people on these forums besides the mods with actual coding experience and I'm telling you for a fact it is impossible to brick a console across the internet crash it sure but brick it is literally impossible and I mean that with every meaning of the word literally I can even link you guys my code and github if you would like proof which I have of my experience unlike everyone that is falsely claiming these things

I have experience in the matter too, thank you very much. What you claimed in the other thread was about ddos attacks, which I nor others have disputed afaik. You hit the nail on the head. What I think others are referring to, myself included is crashes to do with the hardware caused by in game events.

Now I will say my explanation from earlier can come across as incorrect as I used very layman's terms to get the point across. I could get more technical with the explanation, should anybody care. It addresses the fact a device can brick if the device is unplugged during a crash/freeze caused by a hacker.

  • I think he's fine as is. the fact he needs to get to mutation rate three to get the ms is a big downside, and if survivors play safe against him like they would Oni it can be very hard for him to tier up in a timely manner.

If anything I would say he needs a slight buff. Either the first hit of tentacle strike that infects should either not grant a sprint burst, or it should interrupt actions such as unhooking, repairing generators and cleansing totems.

  • @Triplehoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2585691#Comment_2585691

Yeah. This seems to be the case. One claim with no evidence.

even if the claim hasn't been substantiated, it doesn't change the fact that there is indeed a possibility of it being the case that a hacker inadvertently caused somebodies console to brick. So while the hacker was infact the cause in this case is up for debate. It should not be up for debate that BHVR should address this issue and work toward a solution. Namely better anti-cheat and a more efficient and reliable report system, along with taking time to streamline code so the game doesn't use as much processing power.

  • Doing some research, it's entirely possible for a hacker to brick a device, however it isn't the main consequence of what they do.

Let me elaborate, many hackers in DBD have the ability to crash computers through overloading either the cpu or gpu. This is by spamming actions in game which your device cannot keep up with, take for example changing health state or screaming. There will be so many instances of the action that your cpu or gpu usage will rise to 100% and potentially crash out your device. As has been the case with games such as Anthem, Warzone, DOTA among others.

This in itself does not cause bricking, generally you will either just restart your device, or your application will shut down with an error code and you continue on your way. However, what can happen is while your device is crashed, it may have been accessing the hard drive, and hard resetting the device will cause the accessed sector to corrupt, which in turn may cause bricking.

So while the chance of your device being bricked is low, as it requires your device to crash while the hard drive is being accessed and you hard reset by unplugging, it is not impossible for it to happen. And I believe this is what happened with Anthem, as very similar issues were reported on it, however not from hacking.

This is why devices come with a warning to not turn off the power while saving or without using the power off button.

Also note: I'm not saying the hackers were the cause in these cases, however I am saying it is a possibility.

  • now if only people would hold BHVR accountable for this issue, instead of keeling over and kissing their feet because we can kick pumpkins. One can dream.

  • I pray that one day the DBD community will drop their consumerism and hold BHVR accountable for their lack of quality control, transparency and deceit. Pressuring them to cop on so they fix their game.

I know my game has been dropping some frames on occasion since the patch released, hackers have increased, crashes are prevalent, and a myriad of issues exist in the game.

The claims are kind of extraordinary, but if multiple people are reporting issues about the same thing (bricking), under similar circumstances (games with a hacker), on a game that's infamous for being broken with poor optimization, I actually do want to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If I ignore the claims, the worst case scenario is financial or property damage could happen to myself or others.

If I acknowledge the claims, the worst case scenario is I refrain from playing for awhile and the developers are pressured to address issues that have been going on for awhile.

    ---

In short, there's no benefit to dismissing these claims.

except if you want to feel like an armchair expert and dismiss all the claims because you "read a google article so know it all" kek.

I kid, but I agree. And honestly, if you ask me, the claims aren't all that far fetched given the state of the game currently.

Not sure how it'd be possible for a hacker to do that, but if this happens to be true then I honestly fear that.

I think until proven otherwise, it's a perfectly reasonable assumption to say it is the hackers fault. Entirely possible they just overloaded the consoles cpu and gpu and the console got #########.

absolutely, I'm just waiting for either BHVR to reconsider their deal, and change their stance on NFTs, or for BP to come out as scammers and teach BHVR the hard way.

  • this post comes off as really simpy. I love the game too, I've put hundreds of hours into it. However refusing to hold BHVR accountable on the mere argument of "well everybody makes mistakes" is a really nieve and borderline conformist.

BHVR has had issues plague the game for literal years, and either took years to deal with them, or hasn't dealt with them at all. What makes this worse is when they say they're working on a fix or some big project, just for it never to arrive. BHVR has broken their word time and time again, and they lack transparency with their community. Even take this halloween event, BHVR said they were cutting down on other events so they could focus on making a big and bold halloween event. What did we get? You kick pumpkins and get some cosmetics.

Their lack of transparency has really showed off recently with both this patch and the NFTs. Spirit and Deathslinger getting gutted out of the blue, with Deathslinger hot even having any good reasoning nor warning as to why he got gutted.

As for the playability of this patch? How can anybody defend it? This patch is awful, it barely functions. BHVR failed to QC for some of the single most obvious issues, namely being whether killer could actually snuff out totems, because surprise, surprise totems were placed exclusively for interaction with survivors. Then of course there's the plethora of bugs and crashes which is near the level of Cyberpunk in terms of unfinished quality. You can't go excusing waht a mess this patch is. And I for one would gladly let them delay the release of a patch if it meant we got to actually play the game.

Then there has been the whole NFT situation which was a complete breech of trust. BHVR for one endorsing and promoting NFTs is awful from a moral standpoint, but just to add insult to injury they initially deceived the playerbase about their involvement, just to then confirm they were in fact involved with creating NFTs. Which they announced after the release of Pinhead. Most likely because they knew full well how much hate they would receive, I personally feel so betrayed by BHVR, for omitting such important information to do with my purchase. Then they do no damage control as their one tweet addressing the issue didnt even address peoples concern. Then they go and bury it under a mountain of tweets.

If you still don't want to hold BHVR accountable after all I've said, then I guess it's no wonder they're able to get away with such awful practise. to release unfinished products, make shady business deals and lie, just for people to still praise them like the second coming of god.
