Getting exhausted on the ground is still going to happen, DH validation will not work, grab validation didn’t work and still doesn’t work, and hit validation also doesn’t work, why would DH validation be any different

there's grab validation? don't lie now.

  • they showed off the NFTs on twitter and they looked absolutely awful. Otherwise nothing else has come of it unfortunately. Hoping once PAE lose the license that Clive Barker will strike a new license agreement with BHVR if they want to keep the rights. I doubt you'll hear anything about NFTs until at least December though. Praying BHVR will retract their stance on NFTs instead of promoting and endorsing them.

Word up. It is not a trap to lure people down, it is a nice to get to know the survivor on the meat hook one on one, without all of these pallets creating distance between us, and through that understanding, we might become friends.

then they kobe and tbag you and run away and you have no friends anymore :(

notice I did not mention DS, BT, am sure self care(claudio perk) is not meta if anything, people poo over people who does it, iron will am shock really that you think everyone runs it nope you still have people who dont use it use loud groaning chars and easy is then punished by spirits, flash bang, alot of what I see people still prefer a flash light over it because killer can simply look up and avoid the blast, where as flash light its abit rougher cause they even if they look up the survivor can aim it up too. So far believe it or not there is not even alot of mikaelas to me and when I get the usual cast with no mikaela, them survivors tend to run the metas, am like maybe the wierdo who using only flash bang with mikaela perk on my leon and I have the 3 looking at me like uh, your using mika perks?

Let me ask and ofc not to be a prick, what is more annoying running boon perks from mikaela or honestly what is claim meta bt/iw/ds/dh that people complains much about. It is so confusing on what people want. I can say then boons now are part meta play so we toss healing circle and shadow into the mix of listed meta perks?

what does any of that have to do with what I said? I just said yes, your builds are imo meta builds. I never said that was a bad thing...

That's off topic anyway. Detectives Hunch is a fine perk and is a direct counter to NOED. So if somebody has such a big issue with NOED they should use it. It's also good for finding Ruin, Undying and Devour Hope, very popular perks you can get out the game very early with it.

Because it's commonly accepted as BM and a form of nasty gloating within videogames. It's only done to taunt and belitte someone you've beaten, there is zero other purpose.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2598258#Comment_2598258

Shrug. I got Steam stalked by a smurfing .TTV group because I ran Devour Hope and they didn't deal with it.

This game is a machine designed to produce toxicity, and needs a bombing run of heavy moderation and conduct bans.

damn really? I thought they were just having a happy dance in these trying times :(

  • @TheSubstitute said:

Thank you, I didn't think it was toxic. To me, toxic is hate messages in post game chat or when you don't camp or tunnel and say 'gg' after but survivors still mock and/or insult you after (only an occasional, not a common occurrence) Besides, if you like farming BP, which I think you should do as a new player, you need to learn how to use a flashlight and the easiest way is if the killer is in an animation.

don't worry about camping or tunnelling or post game chat and always remember that it's a game. And sometimes camping and tunnelling is the right strategy to use. Don't get caught up in calling things toxic because X person doesn't like it and just enjoy the game. :)

I recommend you watch Spooks N Jukes, he has a very healthy mindset and watching him may help you enjoy the game even more.

Is me using self care, iron will flash bang dead hard a meta, or me now using flash bang dead hard circle of heal and shadow step none meta? again why bother with hunch boon totems provides additional benefits lol. I said boon perks + maps are better, maps are not worthless. But hunch and small game is a total waste of a time, no lil ding from small game is helpful where a totem is so well hiding vs a map that glows the totem to find it easier.

    1. maybe people dont want to use a boon, or have a boon.
    2. detectives hunch SHOWS you where totems and generators are, making it faster to find a spot for a boon, or faster for you to get on the next gen etc.
    3. detectives hunch doesnt even need you to finish a gen, it just works off any gen being done, so it's free info.
    4. if you have a map with detectives hunch the map will automatically save all aura's you read with it incase you didnt catch something from being in chase etc.
    5. small game is a perfectly fine perk for finding totems when you know how it works.

There's nothing wrong with either perk, and not everybody wants to use a boon either. Also yes, both the builds you described are literally meta builds. Anyway, Hunch is a fine perk and people can't exactly complain about NOED when there are perks such as Hunch to deal with totems and prevent NOED.

Here we go again with the same stupid worthless build per usual, nah its ok we have boon totems now that is far better with yes a map. no need for out of dates perks that provides no award.

Detectives Hunch and maps are far from worthless or outdated lol, but ok. God forbid you use anything that isn't a meta perk.

  • no it's not toxic, neither is clicking or tbagging. Idk how people get so heated over somebody pressing their crouch or use item button a few times. All I see are survivors having a little rave and dance.

How do maps even work for totems? Whenever I find one, I basically have to already look at the totem for it to mark. What am I doing wrong?

pretty sure you need an addon to see totems

I meent as in stairs as an example, if you dont align the pating yourself properly a slightly higher or lower ground will completly stop the atack even if you still have range of it. Im completly ok with with the trails not being able to stay on sertain areas like generators or hooks just to prevent sertain abusive plays

oh sorry, I misunderstood what you meant.

  • 100% Iron Maiden, it's a great perk on him and combo's very well with BBQ as unless survivors have calm spirit, which who outside of me runs that perk, they can't hide from BBQ if they're not inside it's range.

  • @Viamont said:

I feel piramid head just needs smal QoL changes, hes already a pretty reliable killer both in close and mid range with some definitly fun and enjoyable kit.

Rites of judgment perhaps be slightly faster when activated and deactivated, instead of 1 second taking .75 on both cases, .50 sounds like a good change while keeping the slowdown it gives.

Punishment of the damed maybe could leave a temporal path of "rites of judgment" after activation, perhaps lasting 1 or 2 seconds on the same area the atack has, OR upon landing the PoD the survivor generates a mark, if PD manages to land two PoD in a sertain amount of time the survivor its aflicted with RoJ even if they didnt pass over it previously.

On the other hand i agree he neesd the RoJ pating to be improved a bit, sometimes sertain areas eat the power, it would be good to make them more reliable both on higher and lower ground

to follow up your last point about certain areas just not being afflicted with trail of torment. I know all the areas it can't spawn, being around hooks, generators, inside the exit gates and inside basement. However I do wish there was some indicator of when there is no trail being left behind you.

originally when he came out i thought PotD applied torment on hits, which it didnt which i felt was strange, but it would be lovely to be able to apply torment on PotD hits.

I think that's a neat idea, but I wouldn't say it'd be fit for base kit. Perhaps a green or purple addon, given he's in dire need of better addons.

There is certainly a huge divide between 2018 to now. In atmosphere and feel.

I was watching some old footage from 2018 DBD back when I started and I never actually noticed just how much more atmosphere there was in the darker maps. It's a real shame how bright the maps are now. Maybe that's why I like Midwich so much. It's more like the original DBD maps than the original DBD maps.

I'm going to judge you for how you like to play because it's skill-less and zero fun for anyone but you, and in conjunction with your repeated statements that you're playing a video game so nothing matters, including the other people playing the video game, I think you're self-centered and lack empathy.

Still, that's the opinion of a random person on the internet. You can still do it, nobody's gonna stop you... but you don't have the right to not be judged for it. People can judge you for whatever they want, and when you play in a way that absolutely nobody likes to go against because it wastes the time of all people involved and prevents them from playing the game 'the way they want to', people are going to be unhappy. It's that simple. You can do what you want, but you can't control people's reactions to it. Man up and deal with it. Embrace it if you have to. But none of this 'wah, you're all wrong for being salty when I waste your offerings and don't let you do anything.'

But in any case, that's not what the OP is saying. Unfortunately, Agitation/Iron Grasp is a staple of the basement Bubba build and you have to be very far from the basement for this to work. If you're on a map like Rotten Fields, RIP.

Oh my, you really hate campers huh? Well fine, judge me all you like, but at the end of the day, I'm not the one getting angry or upset over how others chose to enjoy their time.

"you can't control people's reactions to it" you're right, I'll leave my trial with a smile on my face while others decide to cry about how somebody they're never going to meet again ruined their life.

Sorry you apparently fail to see the part I mention about toxic survivors certainly deserves that, and I side with killer on that part with clicky clicky t bag etc of a toxic survivor, I am talking about non toxic survivors and obviously if its being done on a non toxic survivor it is a personality killer mad , I do not care how many time you or killer main try to defend this. Again ill say it for the 10 time, its acceptable on a survivor being a prick , I agree to it as as survivor main, I disagree with it on a none toxic survivor who simply 4 5 gen some poor gullible killer who insist to keep chasing that god looper and if some how do catch em at the last min(noed ofc most likely) and hitting that non toxic god looper then its a personal issue killer like it or not. Look at survivors who dc or kamikaze on hook on first down. On both sides it probably the way for a person to vent rather than throw their game systems and tv out the window so that I can see with hit hooking/survivors dc/kamikaze but meh I do not do any of this on either side.

Good killers NEVER face camp or hit on hook, some even have respect and let the last person that they see did well and was non toxic survivor either let em get hatch or pull the switch, I am never toxic to a killer cause its no reason to do so. I gotten plenty of respect from a killer even when I thought my fate is gonna be sealed after my third team mate dies that its hook time only to be given the escape please you deserve award. Also both sides need to stop being hypocrites for there is killers who are the reasons survivors are toxic, a killer who is bad and decide to be the tunneling type that down someone unlucky in 10 seconds put em on the hook already is hooking them and staring at them, if that survivor got down in 10 seconds, to me that survivor probably didnt even got a pallet hit or even have a flash light aka non toxic survivor

I had a match with my brother and 2 randoms as an example where a random feng got caught she had no flash light she was giving him a good chase causing 2 gen pops. trapper puts on hook keep hitting on hook I ran up with the other random and friend to lure him away, even go in his face to take a hit as someone else pulls her off ofc he didnt seem to wanna risk it. At the end ends up with me and one random who sadly we pop last gen she gets caught by trap ofc at that point I was unable to do anything much but to leave but overall that trapper from start was toxic

yes and I'm not talking about being a good or bad killer or caring about winning. I'm talking about doing what I find fun. If I face camp somebody I'm not doing because they looped me for 3 gens, or were or weren't flashlight clicking. I don't care how they played, I'm gonna camp them because I want to. I don't see why a survivor playing however well should determine how I WANT to play, who cares about what's most effective for the killer or fun for the survivor. I'll play how I find fun, that's what video games are about. Sometimes I just want to face camp.

You could be the nicest person on earth, play really well or poorly, do nothing "toxic" (which btw, I don't perceive anything like t-bagging or clicking etc toxic. If it's not hacking or harassing in chat, it's not toxic.) I will camp you if I want to. It has absolutely nothing to do with the game, it's just how I feel like playing that particular match. I'm not out to ruin somebodies experience, and if I do, that's not my issue. I didn't choose to make them upset, they choose to get upset over how somebody else played.

So why should I be judged for how I WANT to play, Why is it that I should be forced into a playstyle I don't wanna play because of what somebody else did? It makes no sense. I'm not breaking any rules, I'm not cheating, I'm not hurting their feelings or calling them out. I'm simply playing the game my way. There's no malicious intent, there's no wanting salt. There's only my enjoyment factor. Because again, I play video games for fun. And what I find fun may not be what others find fun and that's ok. Just don't judge people based on how they want to play a game. There's nothing that deep to it.

  • that's how I was with Rainbow Six Siege, used to be an amazing game which I played religiously and loved to bits. But after around Y3S1 I felt the game started heading in a direction I didn't like, and the player base started to grow to a point where it was beginning to see a lot of sweatier people join, followed by an influx of people using mouse n keyboard, now the game is almost unplayable for your average controller player like myself. Yea I could have an odd fun game, but most of the time it's just MnK sweats and ridiculous operators that never should have been added.

Hitting people on a hook especially a non toxic survivor to me explain alot about that killers RL

hitting somebody on hook means literally nothing. If a survivor thinks that it's "toxic" or bm then the issue isn't with the killer and maybe you should stop being so presumptuous about their personality. What makes hitting a survivor on hook toxic? what is it about that action that causes grief? For all you know the killer just wants to hear the sound of the survivor screaming, or the satisfying thwack of their weapon. Assuming peoples personality irl because of how they chose to play a game is incredibly nieve as fun is subjective. Just because you dont find fun what they do doesn't make them a toxic pos that lives in their mothers basement or some crap that survivors seemingly tend to associate with just playing a game.

I mean that on some tiles like the long loops on Trappers' maps, it feels like it gets... stopped almost. Maybe this is because of the short range but... I dunno.

And lmao no offense but I couldn't disagree with this more. He's too reliant on hard reads to hit or animation locks. It's exactly why people don't use his M2 and mostly play him for his ability to go through hook states faster. It's too slow, too easy to dodge.

"You can't hide behind objects or throw a pallet to dodge it. Especially when it can even hit during a pallet stun so you get a hit anyway."

I mean no offense, but you must be going against bad Survivors if you're throwing this at me. Remotely competent Survivors know this, they're going to be trying to dodge your power like Huntress or Slinger or Trickster by running around loops accordingly.

I'll be frank, most of what you said is a skill issue. Pyramid Heads has some of the best anti-loop power in the game, as POTD makes almost every loop unsafe and puts survivors in constant 50/50s. If you're not forcing survivors into giving you free M2 hits or baiting it for M1s, then that's not Pyramid Heads fault.

The range is more than enough to clear almost every loop in the game without range addons. And again hits through objects and walls, giving him incredible pressure and turning highwall loops into a guessing game for survivors. So I'm not sure where you're getting that idea from, that he's too short range.

If you're struggling to hit a single POTD at any loops then that's on you and you should practise more. Most people will tell you Pyramid Head is incredibly dangerous to try loop as he gets free hits almost no other killer can, while also forcing you to torment yourself, lest you want to go down.

  • damn, I'd hate it if they added a spider that is scary to a horror game.

  • @OopsAllHexes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2597447#Comment_2597447

His M2 just needs buffs. Needs major range buffs imo, and should not get stopped by objects. Also needs be faster because this is the easiest ability to Dead Hard based off of pure reaction. There's too much counterplay baked into it, it needs some of it removed because it's too easy to dodge consistently.

what do you mean should not get stopped by objects? POTD goes through walls. I also disagree with it needing to be faster. It's fine and works like a dream. You just need to practise it and know when to and not use it. If it was any easier to hit he would be way too strong as dodging is currently the only counter play there is. You can't hide behind objects or throw a pallet to dodge it. Especially when it can even hit during a pallet stun so you get a hit anyway. Practise, practise, practise and you'll be hitting POTD reliably even against the best of survivors.

So, if you were sitting on a couch with 4 other strangers, playing Dead By Daylight. Would you take one of the strangers playing survivor to the basement, face-camp them and proceed to hit them while they are on the hook, not able to do something.

I think not. At least you wouldn't do it without getting into a fight.

I would, because they should understand it's a game, and you can play how you want. Sorry I don't take a video game seriously and think it has some real life implications that make me a bad person that would get beaten up.

If you were playing a solo video game, then you have the right to do whatever you want to do with that video game. However, you are choosing to play a video game with 4 other people.

Socially, what you are doing is going to dinner with 4 other strangers. While at the dinner table, you are choosing to insult them and spit in their food.

The reason you think it's ok in a video game is because you can hide behind the anonymity on the internet so that you can act like a barn animal without getting your butt kicked.

There is so much wrong with what you just said I don't even know where to begin. It's a ######### video game.

If you have to spend a currency on it, it is not completely free. It just means that you did not have to spend real money to acquire said currency.

but in the context of buying survivors with cells vs shards, getting them with cells is free comparatively, because you don't spend any money on them.

  • but it's acquired for free. And so anything you buy with shards was acquired for free. If you're not spending your real money on it, you got it free.

If they say what killers they're looking at, anything that comes out between them saying that and them pushing out changes for that killer will be treated as them lying about looking at those killers. Just as an example.

I mean they can just tell us what killers they're looking at, explain what parts they're looking at and then follow it up saying the changes may or may not make it to a PTB. From there they can take the rational criticism from their feedback page here on the forums. Obviously a lot of the community are toxic af, but I dont find it an excuse. First of all it's not "for free", you need playtime to buy with shards. Shards are not free.

A lot of people bought Mikaela with cells, you're not inside peoples pocket to know.

And they're right, devs probably knew that Circle of Healing is bugged in the first place but they pushed out the DLC anyways.

it costs nothing to get shards lol. Unless "playing the game" costs money all of a sudden. My point is anyway, I don't think people can complain about something not working and having spent money on it when it's something they can get for free anyway. Paying with real money is more like paying for the convenience of getting it sooner rather than later.

  • you can get the character for free lol. Nobody made you buy it with real money.

  • same energy as "just duck iri heads"

  • Alright, I see all you casual Pyramid Head players and I raise you the creme de la creme builds. I'll warn you too, this may be a long, long post. So buckle up. These builds have all been extensively playtested by myself, with a ton of experimentation and theory crafting. I believe they are some of the strongest builds you'll find for Pyramid Head, however they also provide variety. The only strong build I will not be mentioning is the Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Tinkerer. Yes it's strong, but it's generic as hell. I'll be presenting the spice.

Build 1: Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Lethal Pursuer, Thrilling Tremors.

This is one of my goat builds for PH. It comes together like an absolute dream, you'll be using Lethal to find somebody as soon as possible and get a fast, fast down after you torment but not cage them. When you go to hook Thrilling will let you know what gens are being done nearby. You're going to want to proxy camp your first hook, and the second they get unhooked you race for that down and send them to the cage. If you play right, you'll have your first kill before Corrupt Intervention ends. Then through out the match Thrilling will be a source of consistent information which works really well with Ruin to let you know what generators to go to.

Build 2: Plaything, Dark Devotion, Tinkerer, I'm All Ears. also use the Goblet UR addon

This build is an absolute beast on indoor maps, and causes survivors to have a very rough time actually escaping you. There will be a huge lack of coordination once you start getting your plaything rolling. And also given most indoor maps have very hard totems to find they'll be wasting a lot of time. There's no particular game plan with this build other than when chasing your obsession to either leave them after the first hit, or slug them if you can get a fast down, you want to get as much value from Dark Devotion as possible. You'll spend a majority of your game undetectable so long as you're constantly placing trails of torment throughout the trial. A final tip for this build is you can camp very effectively by waiting behind a wall for the unhook while on a trail of torment so you're undetectable, just hold your Punishment of The Damned until they unhook and farm a free double hit.

Build 3: Blood Favour, Undying, Thrilling Tremors, I'm All Ears.

This is a much more gimmicky build however has quite the potential providing you play around loops correctly. It mostly revolves around Blood Favour, so when you get a hit at, all pallets will be blocked nearby. What this allows for is either time to allow you to get another M1 for the down, or they panic and you can farm a second hit with Punishement of The Damned if they try to run to another loop, as they're almost guaranteed to predrop it. Thrilling will give you some crucial slowdown and information, and I'm All Ears is arguably the goat Pyramid Head perk.

Build 4: Save The Best For Last, Furtive Chase, Lethal Pursuer, I'm All Ears.

This is another gimmicky build, however has incredible potential providing you play it right. The idea hear is being able to stack up STBL without losing any stacks and also retaining the ability to tunnel which is what Pyramid Head is amazing for. Lethal again gets you that early information which can be crucial for getting a 2 minute kill, it also gives you info on if survivors are grouped or not so you can get stacks early. Furtive will stop you from being punished for tunnelling your obession off a hook. And you wont lose stacks on the first hit either providing there's a BT as you can use Punishment of The Damned to get a double hit on the hook rescue.

Those are the four builds I wanted to recommend. Now I briefly want to talk about the addons. And frankly, Pyramid Heads addons are #########. There are only two types of addons you ever want to be running those being increased range, and increased time you can hold Rites of Judgment. The rest of his addons are nigh useless and barely come into affect during matches. So always keep an eye out for "wax doll" "burning man painting" "spearhead" and "tablet of the oppressor" These are your four crutch addons. And there's no real reason for you to run anything else with the exception of the goblet for the stealth build.

edit: I quickly want to add some notes on perks you dont want to be using on him.

Firstly Nurses Calling. I played this perk extensively, however it just doesn't give you much value and can only be used effectively when using double range addons. There are much better information perks which will give you much more value.

Next is Lightborn, a lot of people run this perk as a comfort perk as they don't want to deal with flashlights, which is understandable, however I've found on Pyramid Head, a lot of survivors don't know where to aim for the flahslight save. And so they will fail regardless of if you have Lightborn or not.

Finally Devour Hope. Between you sending survivors to the cage and using final judgement, combined with how you ideally want to play Pyramid Head generally proxy camping and tunnelling you will struggle to get stacks quickly on him. It would also cause survivors to play much safer against you and if they begin predropping you will suffer.

I want one last honourable mention to the Seal of Metatron addon, This addon is incredibly bad, and very counter intuitive. It requires survivors to be tormented to get any value, the issue with that being, when you cage a survivor the person who rescues them will lose their torment, so if you catch another person in the mean time you'll be down two people for aura reading. When you have multiple people tormented it's often best to not cage them until you get a few hook stages on each of them. it helps in the long run, trust me. some survivors try to avoid being tormented like the plague, so trying to reapply it can be a real pain.

That wraps up my post on strong Pyramid Head builds. I hope you consider them and if you do indeed use them, have fun with them!

  • I thi k it'd be awesome if he had a passive ability that worked on LoS. with either increased ms or lower tr. Tho maybe the increased ms would be a tad strong for chases around tall tiles

  • never should have removed PHs m2 cancel with m1
