The survivor has like a minute on hook I'll crouch in a Bush next to them for 50 seconds and we can run to the gate with the extra 10 it's fine.
The other ones can fend for themselves.

I'd just camp near the gate. Can open it if needed to get out before the rancor but prevents a big blood warden play and the other 3 survivors can work things out by themselves.
be a shame my slug was near the exit gate and I opened it myself 😏
-
This post in a nutshell.
-
failing to anticipate the bloodwarden and losing because of it is a skill issue. And until you leave those exit gates, the match isn't over.
-
same goes for Blood Warden, I've gotten countless kills on the back of survivors staying to bm. completely unaware of the fact they're not allowed to leave. And god, does the sheer panic when they realise amuses me. Then you get message aaying "oh youre trash, crutch perk" to which I always think. who's more trash? the person who simply used a perk in their build to its full potential? or the person who could have escaped but instead failed to anticipate what the killers final perk is, and instead deciding to stay to try and bm the killer? I know which I think is worse.

Bloodpoints can be gained by playing and sacrifices, charms are nice but a niche, complete Auric cell refund actually which is why it's annoying, to watch someone just not put on some effort. But I guess instant gratification is better. Welp I know this now, why bother trying when you can just get it later. The whole point of passes is usually a incentive to play and have nice things others don't. Not everyone needs to have a fair opportunity unless they try and put in the same effort and work others are. Opportunity and rewards are earned not just bought later on. This is a rich person mentally that anyone can just buy their way in to having the same or better stuff than those who work hard to get some place.
Yeah, you worked so hard to play the game more that somebody else for a little bit. The rift challenges are far, far from hard. Stop being entitled and gatekeeping over some cosmetics dude... you get all your auric cells back, so literally what are you even complaining about? not like your money is lost... also you realise the value for your money is incredibly high compared to a direct purchase? So not like they get a better deal. It's a ######### game, so curb your self importance and let people get the cosmetics they missed out on.

I'm working on changing my killer builds, for the past few years, i've been running Whispers on every killer. But i've decided to try replacing Whispers with a more useful perk, a perfect perk for each killer. Like Strider for Spirit or Tinkerer on Hillbilly. Some i've decided, but have not yet found in the bloodweb, but some killers i've drawn a blank with.
I'm wondering if you guys can help me. We can make it into a game. I'll tell you the perks i'm using, but you guys tell me the last one and why you chose that one.
-Fill in the blanks-
- Trapper: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Hag: Nurses, Ruin. BBQ, .....
- Leatherface: Iron Will, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Pig: Nurse, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Clown: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Demo: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Oni: Sloppy, Ruin, BBQ, ....
- Blight: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Nemesis: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Twins: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, ....
- Pinhead: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
Remember, fill in the blanks with a new perk perfect for that killer and explain your choice.
Yeah, i know, i use the same perks alot, But i find them very useful and i don't plan on swapping the mentioned perks out soon, unless i get a better build idea.
I look forward to your answers.
as a second reply, I'll add what I think you should run and also I'll give you a build I'd recommend to have fun while still remaining a bit competitive. Gotta have some meme games sometimes. I do emplore you to reconsider Nurses though.
Trapper:
- Nurses, Ruin, Tikerer, STBL. (BBQ is not a great perk on Trapper as he is very territorial, you dont want to be leaving your web of traps and instead try defending a set group of gens.)
- Corrupt Intervention, No Way Out, STBL, Ruin.
Hag:
- Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, Corrupt Intervention.
- Corrupt Intervention, Make Your Choice, Ruin, Bitter Murmur.
Leatherface:
- Insidious, Ruin, BBQ, Bamboozle.
- Insidious, Agitation, Iron Grasp, NOED.
Pig (my ex main):
- Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, Corrupt Intervention.
- Ruin, Knockout, Surveillance, Thanataphobia. (Make sure to use the Face Mask addon with this build, and just slug all survivors.)
Clown:
- Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, Spirit Fury.
- Spirit Fury, Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Enduring.
Demogorgon:
- Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, STBL.
- Territorial Imperative, Make Your Choice, Agitation, Corrupt Intervention. (place a portal at the top of basement and when you see Territorial proc, just tp back after the MYC proc)
Oni:
- Ruin, BBQ, Tinkerer, Corrupt Intervention. (DO NOT USE SLOPPY ON ONI, he's an insta down killer and many survivors will just ignore healing against him.)
- Tinkerer, Corrupt Intervention, Bamboozle, Ruin.
Blight:
- Any build you want, just make sure you have Shadowborn.
Nemesis:
- Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, Lethal Pursuer.
- Lethal Pursuer, Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, STBL.
Twins:
- I'm really nit sure what to build on them tbh, but I imagine Ruin and Corrupt are always good choices.
Pinhead:
- Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, Hoarder.
- Hoarder, Ruin, Lethal Pursuer, Franklins Demise.

Right, so they can completely shut her down and always avoid a hit. Doesn’t sound equal to me.
sounds like a skill issue on your behalf if thats how you think it'll be.
-
I know you said you're not likely to change your perks, but I highly, highly recommend you remove Nurses from your builds. In practise it's actually a very weak information perk and I would swap if for any of the following: Surveillance, Tinkerer, Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt Intervention or Hex: Undying.
You should also consider watching Otzdarva's best build for every killer video released just this week.

How is knowing where she is and staying safe skill vs skill?
uhm because now survivors can see her and it isnt guess work on their part which made her incredibly hard to fight. Now survivors have a chance against her phasing as opposed to simply being guess work.

Yeah but are they buffed enough to compete with pre-nerf Spirit? Only time will really tell, but I would guess no.
balancing killers is a very precarious and delicate task. and frankly I'd rather them take several small steps in the right way as to not repeat what Spirit was and Nurse is
-
I think people are missing the fundamental point that this mmr brings.
Yes in the short term it may seem that good players will be punished for not escaping as they may hypothetically die. However in the long term what this will do is bring all the players to a point where they escape in 50% of games and die in 50% of their games, which is the ultimate goal of mmr. And over time due to laws of averages and what the mmr defines a win, this will happen.
It's easy to say on a case by case basis that yes a good player may be punished for not escaping. However that's what multiple games are for, your mmr isn't defined by a single match. It's defined by the collection of every single game you ever play.
Players need to stop being so narrow minded and see the bigger picture of what this style of mmr actually does for the game.
-
tbh, and this is a hot take: I think the upcoming nerfs will actually make her more fun to play. Less guess work from survivors and more skill vs skill will make for a more balanced and enjoyable experience. Sometimes with Spirit I felt I only got hits because the survivor failed a 50/50. It doesnt carry the same weight as knowing you outplayed them
-

Having members that counter adjust a high sbmm means they can more easily gain matches against lower rated killers.
Not concerned about survivors that go for a straightforward win, but the ones that relish a match where the killer is clearly outmatched.
Experienced this when sbmm launched; survivor swf would clearly have control over the game and practically refuse to conclude the match until they farmed out all they wanted. This superiority is usually accompanied by insults to complimenting their "greatness"
obv it wasnt said, but I'd imagine that the mm will only find a match based on the highest players mmr

Stop pretending, nobody does the Rift for bloodpoints, the entire point of it is the cosmetics.
ok and so by doing it for the cosmetics means the bloodpoints dont exist? Stop ignoring parts of the rift as whole so it suits your agenda.

Charms are cosmetic and you don't need to pay to access the bloodpoints. So aside from cosmetics, you get back a small amount of Auric Cells.
For some one like OP that cares so much about cosmetics to the point of getting angry, I can understand why they would think paying for the rift isn't worth it.
I dont think people who haven't bought the rift get as much value from the free bp as they aren't as focused on getting it. Also just because it's free doesn't mean it should be discounted, it's a reward that can be lumped in with the buying price as the two are correlated.

Based on the Q&A, 1 kill ups your MMR as killer… which is ridiculous and super easy for even super inexperienced killers to climb. If you facecamp one person, your mmr rises.
it’s counterproductive to me to go for kills if I have to resort to camping to secure 1 kill.
1 kill ups it, 1 kill downs it, so three escapes will be a net negative and three kills with be a net positive and so on.

What goodies are there other then cosmetics?
Partial Auric Cells refund, charms and bloodpoints considering that the tomes are connected to the rift, so in completing the rift you are incidentally completing the tome which gives you bloodpoints.

Releasing old rift outfits for sale in the store belittles the accomplishment and devotion of the players who were around and worked for them. Of all the things rolled with in dbd over the years, this in particular angers me on another level. Why do I spend money on the rift and put in the effort to complete these sometimes ridiculously hard challenges just so someone with a few extra bucks can just get the rewards with zero effort? Its a slap in the face. Please just stop it.
Uhm, I feel like that is some serious gatekeeping mentality, You realise that the rift isn't all about the cosmetics? You get a ton of other goodies along with it and on top of that it's a huge discounted price compared to the stuff you can buy in store on their own. If it angers you over the fact some people can buy cosmetics at a much higher price than you payed for out of some sense of being a veteran, than I gotta say. That is hella elitist.

On 6 you still moan, blood is still on the floor, scratches too, to counter moaning, iron will, much better compared to calm spirit, i get it you use it and think its usefull to you, but most people still don't use it because it is very situational, needs a small nerf, as currently it barely counters that much, look at a meta perk like Decisive Strike, or Borrowed time. They help, and both at once even more so, they are anti tunnel perks, much more helpful than thst, look at sprint burst, balanced landing, or any exhaustion perk, much better imo.
well ofc meta perks are better than Calm Spirit, but that doesnt make it a bad perk... And it's in no way in need of a buff, it's like Sabo or Kindred, there are tons of other better perks, but that doesnt make them inherently bad.

Well,
1. Barely anyone uses spies from the shadows, let alone listen to crows.
2. Idk about rancor.
3. Iron maiden or any perk like that, well see, you have to think how many times you are gonna get that, first of all getting a killer that has it, then of them using it, then finally, actually using it on you, instead of the 4 other survivors.
4. Doctor, umm yeah but again, you're not gonna see doc every game.
5. Clown, what has he to do with this?
6. Freddy, again? What has he to do with this?
7. Hesitate???? You do realise they still SEE the animation, slowdown etc, also on thr left
My point being, calm spirit is decent, but can't compare to Iron Will, and other meta or stealth perks.
- it's a preemptive perk if they do have it.
- you see Huntress' use Iron Maiden all the time, and more often than not BBQ too. So getting into lockers isn't a bad idea to counter the BBQ.
- If you do see a Doc you'll be happy you have it,
- Clowns gas makes you scream, so if he yeets it across the map and hears no scream he may assume nobody is there.
- Freddies dream snares cause you scream too, so with the perk you can run through them freely without him knowing where,
- I'm not saying it'll buy you 10 seconds or something. But it can buy you just enough time, if thye hit you and try to follow the noise of your moans or scream and there's just nothing for them to go off. They can take a second to figure out what happened.
-
Calm Spirit is actually a staple perk for me. I run it all the time. It has quite a lot of uses that people dont always seem to consider. the list of things it counters being as such.
- crows,
- spies from the shadows,
- infectious fright,
- rancor (I think, not 100% sure but I do believe it does),
- iron maiden,
- doctor,
- clown,
- trapper*
- freddy.
I have an asterisks for Trapper as too a degree it can help if you're caught in a bear trap. Providing Trapper is preoccupied, and you step in a trap he may not realise a survivor has been caught and could just rub it off as a trap being disarmed as there's no scream to accompany the trap sound.
Sometimes it will even make the killer hesitate for a moment after injuring you, second guessing if they hit you or not if you were running through long grass or corn etc as you make virtually no sound. it's for sure saved me a second or two and I myself have fallen victim to the "wait, did I hit them?"
So I think it's a perfectly good perk as it is. Sure it's not meta, but neither are most of the perks in the game. I dont think Calm Spirit needs any changes and by nature it'll only get better with time as more perks that make you scream or cause loud noise notifs are added.

Pyramid Heads, for the simple implications it has on the world of DBD, that the entity isn't an all powerful being.
-
From watching various high mmr streamers, I feel like the amount of times people say they face Spirit and Nurse is quite exaggerated. Could be a case of survivorship bias. You think you see a Nurse or Spirit every game and in your mind neglect to realise when you do play against others.

Something psychological that breaks the fourth wall. Something like lowering your computer's volume or fake crashing the game. His power would be him being laggy, resembling lag switching but with some sort of indicator that the power is active, you press the active ability button and your character lags, a projection is made that keeps moving on the direction that you pressed the button, while you are actually moving seperately from him, similarly to spirit's phase walk but without the speed boost and your projection moves on it's own.
I like that, kinda similar to an idea I have of a misinformation Killer, like a mix between Hag and Doctor, where there's no clear indication you've stepped into range of a trap aside from stuff like fading and growing heartbeats, redstains appearing are visions of the killer in the distance and glimpses of fellow survivors around you. Of course a killer like that would need more to their power to be viable, but I think that as a base for their kit would be awesome.

Idk everyone keeps saying their killer games are bad. Since the "SBMM" released I managed to do ALL killer adepts. Some I did first try with a killer I never played before. My survivor matches on the other hand are horrible (solo queue) and I keep getting team mates who play like they legit just got the game (I have over 3k hours ingame)
I feel my killer games have been comparatively "worse" since sbmm, however I dont think that's the right way to label it. I think the better way is saying more balanced games. My scores from game to game have lowered, however they've gotten more stable. IE, I dont stomp as hard as often, nor do I get stomped as hard as often. My games are much more close and intense going either way up until the final moments. So yes it's easy for me to say "my games have been ruined, it's much harder for me to 4k!" I can at the very same time say "my games have gotten easier, because I rarely get all 4 survivors escape on me."
-
it's easier for less skilled survivors and killers to come across more experienced opponents as it's entirely possible that the mmr of people who haven't played in the new mmr system yet are placed around the same level. And so despite being ash grade may very well be very good killers or survivors coming back from a break. And until they play a sufficient amount of games will continue to see newer or worse players until their mmr rises.

@Huge_Bush @GoodBoyKaru I really don't see tbagging or flashlight clicking as toxic, even if done to "aggregate the killer" same for a killer slugging the last survivor until they bleedout. A small bit of bm and taunting never goes astray and generally speaking those actions are pretty petty and very inconsequential. I think if people are getting annoyed and frustrated at tbagging or clicking then the issue isn't with the person who is trying to bm. I don't see why such should be considered toxic, especially when similar things are in other games too and yet receive much, much less hate or have less stigma about them.
I will add in bodyblocking to prevent somebody from doing anything however, that is an issue I agree.

Well the killer is wasting his own time too but I agree.
I mean I've done it myself as killer and yea, it can be a waste of time. but often times it's just a feels good moment. y'know? I'll gladly sacrifice 2 minutes of my time to bask in glory lmao. Also there's been times where survivors have brought it on themselves by crawling off when I slug for 4k then complain when I cant find them. No matter what you can't appease the victimhood complexes.
-
so what I'm hearing is that you don't like Tinkerer because it stops you from rushing all the gens without an ounce of counterplay? I see... please tell me more about how the Killer shouldn't use the only perks which make matches winnable.
but fr. Tinkerer is fine. And it's far, far from free hits and regression if you pay attention after figuring out they have tinkerer. and if they're defending the gen like their life depends on it go do other gens. Divebombing a near 99% gen is a great way to throw the game. Play around the perks.
-
"this killer played in a way that hurt my feely weelys, must be a pc player and should be banned."
If you're being slugged, go get a drink. put on a short youtube video. The only person making you wait in that scenario is yourself.
-
sounds good to me, free weekends are always a good thing for games
-
I can't say 2 weeks of playtime is enough to form a proper opinion on how the game plays and how it should be balanced. Also, I feel like OP has already fallen into the trap of entitlement that plagues the community. As a new player, your shouldn't worry about facecamping this and that. It's a valid strategy that works and is enjoyable for those who use it. I myself don't mind being against either.
You need to understand as a new player just because you dont like it doesnt make it any less valid. Play the game, and as you get better and more experienced you'll find that you'll meet people who know how to play against facecampers and you'll learn to aswell. It's an aspect of the game, an obstacle that needs to be overcome.
Always remember, killers are called killers, not entertainers. Their main goal is objectively opposed to yours, so of course they're going to do whatever they can to achieve that goal. Dont keep thinking like a victim, or that you're better than the killer for "playing fair" and especially dont fall into the whatabout-ism so common in discussion.
Be humble.

I hate Hawkins with a passion. I feel like that chapter was a double edged sword as Demo is incredibly fun to play as and against. Yet Hawkins is neither fun as survivor or killer. Also the fact it feels like 50% of the maps in rotation are Hawkins doesn't help either. And you always get it back to back in my experience too. So the oversaturation of playing it combined with the general awful layout... yea, it can go and never come back no more.
