There is an NFT for this:
So I hope you also stop using this meme template.
that's the issue with NFTs, they are so expensive and wasteful, however anybody is free to download the image as they please. I can save that image to my device right now and it wont cost me a dime. But it's mine now, I have it. I can do whatever I like with it, and the NFT holder can't do anything about it. He has no authority over what I do with "his image"
Also, downloading a file, doesn't support NFTs either, to think so is a little nieve on how they work.

Maybe you missed my point. We agree about the enviromental issues, I only disagree about the illegal acivities. You should go for the stronger argument that are not that easy to debunk. Maybe you could add art theft as an issue to this or that NFTs are not even offering the benefits of, say, Bitcoin where the token ist striktly limited.
They are like traveling for fun on fossile fuel, by plane or by car...just a "fun" thing that produces pollution. Because even if you use green energy for them that energy could be used elsewhere.
ahh I see what you mean now. Well I could have, however I simultaneously just want to convey the point NFTs are ######### BAD, so the points I brought up get that across. Though I suppose art theft does too.

I didn't buy any NFT. Just because I have Pinhead DLC, I don't support NFTs based on Pinhead.
With your reasoning I think you would be surprised how many NFT's you "supported" or will in the future.
you didnt buy an NFT, but you bought a product which will go to supporting a company that deals in NFTs. Had anybody known this prior, I guarantee almost nobody would have bought him. Because nobody wants to help a company that deals with NFTs. If other companies have done so, they've done so discretely, so of course people would buy their products when we dont know they deal in NFTs. There's a difference between supporting something willingly and unwillingly. Had I know my money would go to supporting them, I would never have Pinhead. And sure "it doesn't matter in game" that doesnt make it morally right.

A lie will remain a lie.
And even thou they did not tell us exactly that they used that vagueness to their benefit in oder to mislead their community. Clear communication is very important when it comes to community management and should not be underestimated. This is either a slack or they wanted it to be this way. All future messages from BHVR will be doubt and rightfully so.
I do however think that you are putting the blame on crypto here just to bandwagon when it comes to illegal activities. Would you condemn the $ or the € just because they are also used as payment methods for this kind of illegal activity? Crypto at least is just a token for payment nothing more and nothing less, a tool if you will.
There are stronger arguments to be made about this. Money laundering is not one.
NFTs are uphold on the same blockchains as crypto, and they are powered and processed by the same computers. They are directly linked, and so NFTs are quite literally killing the planet. A single transaction of an NFT with Ethereum consumes enough energy to power an average US household for two and a half days. To say NFTs aren't part of that same problem as bitcoin is just a bit of misunderstanding.
-
OP, so you're telling everybody to not get up in arms over the fact, the developers have come out in support of NFTs after implying they have nothing to do with it. that they only "provide them with in-game models as well as Chapter keys. They are free to use these however they see fit as the rightful owners of these characters." to just a few days later saying "Behaviour worked with Boss Protocol over several months to adapt in-game models for use as NFTs and approved them prior to the release of Pinhead in DbD." isn't deception?
There is clear a clear mismatch in the message of both these statements which everybody agrees was to intentionally mislead the community. to go from "we give them the models as the owners" to "we made special models specifically for NFTs" is clearly deceitful.
And if that wasn't enough. Do you really think it's ok to support a company that promotes and supports the use of NFTs? which run on blockchains that consume more power than Denmark and contribute to global warming more than New Zealand? Along with the fact, endorsing NFTs, endorses crypto which is used is some of the shadiest business practises online, from insider trading to sex trafficking. Nobody in there right mind should support this more. And to try defend it is abhorrent.

Can someone give me a general idea of what NFTs are and why is this a bad thing?
an NFT is a digital cert that says you own a particular piece of digital media. Most commonly a piece of artwork. They are tradable via cryptocurrencies and the certificate is kept valid on huge computer servers.
Why is this a bad thing? The servers that produce cryptocurrencies and uphold NFTs are extremely power hungry. so for example the blockchain Ethereum which uses the cryptocurrency Ether, runs on servers and computers that consume more energy than the entire country of Denmark, per year. It's this excessive usage if power which directly contributes to global warming that causes them to be so distasteful. A single transaction made with Ether consumes enough power to power an average US household for two and a half days.
So, by supporting and promoting NFTs, BHVR is in essence promoting excessive power usage and global warming. Which is why there is such outrage right now,

I promise you I am not trying to start an argument. I think NFTs are a ripoff at best. But I do have to ask for clarification (I had a real bad day today unrelated to any of this, so I am not thinking at 100% clarity atm): What deceit are you (and I assume others) referring to?
they posted on twitter a few days ago saying they had no involvement with any NFTs. That they gave them (BossProtocol) the assets for Pinhead from DBD to them. And they can do with those assests as they like. Then now they say they were working with BossProtocol to make special assets specifically for the NFTs, and they openly endorse them.

How do I avoid participating the NFT’s? I bought the Pinhead DLC, so does that mean that I am?
you haven't participated in NFTs, but you have supported the company running them. So it's just as bad. I'm in the same boat as you. Had I know my money would support a company that uses NFTs, I would not have bought him. I'm gonna see about getting a refund tomorrow.

I think what needs to be said about this has already been said well by plenty of people in this thread, so I'll just add a quick 2 cents:
Embarrassment. Deception. Shame. Tone-Deafness. Ignorance. Lack of Awareness about your player base's stances on things.
All of those terms should apply to BHVR right now. I'd almost be surprised, if their track record didn't suggest Incompetence was another word you could add to that list.
any% speedrun, kill your company

If you were to tell me Dead By Daylight is going to die this week. Literally any other time, I would have laughed at you and called you an idiot. But now it seems they want their game to die. Especially with up and coming games like VHS and Propnight. BHVR could not have ######### up any more.

Okay, we need more pallets then. Some areas are dead zone.
that's your fault for not being aware of a deadzone...
-
I can't wait for a low tier killer to be nerfed -_-
the counterplay to Wraith is incredibly easy. Just predrop a pallet or sit on a window and wait for the bell to ring. You basically guarantee you can vault before he'll reach you.
-
I feel insulted Pyramid Head isn't at least A in lethality. A good Pyramid Head makes almost every loop a deathsentence.
-
these posts are exactly why Bubbas play the way they do. If it wasn't so rewarding in terms of salt and complaints they might play normally. But players enable them to facecamp by throwing themselves into a chainsaw then complaining the killer is at fault.
Bubbas feed from salt. It's like when you give an obnoxious kid in school attention. If they dont get any attention they'll just stop and be normal.

And map / tile spawning RNG.
imagine how much more enjoyable the game would be if rng tiles just weren't a thing, and every maps layout would be set in stone. That would raise the bar in terms of player skill for both sides while also being less frustrating for both sides because of more balanced tiles and less deadzones.
-
new Pig ultra rare will be hella fun I bet. Just a shame it has very little synergy with Hex Plaything. Though maybe having all survivors start exhausted with Slow Release Toxin could be very powerful.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Outside of holding a survivor hostage in a corner, there is nothing a killer can do that's unfair, maybe not fun, but nothing unfair.
Their task is to kill, how they do so is the aspect that allows for fun in that role.
If you feel your being deprived of play because of getting hooked, that's a result of your inexperience not killer toxicity. Everything before your failure in a chase is your opportunity to play based on personal ability. Once hooked it is for the most part entirely up to teammates to provide any additional chances for that match.
I hate it when killers kill! they can't do this, it's outrageous, it's unfair. *angry Anakin noises*
-
sbmm generally prevents you from playing casually, casually being not playing to the best of your abilities. Just leaning back and chilling. However given how mmr is, you're most likely at a level where if you do try to relax you get stomped. If you're a killer, you maybe get one hook the entire game. Or as survivor you go down fast and your team crumbles. In situations like that, are you really having fun? There's a difference between not caring about a win, and not getting to play the game. Which is a difference many, many people seem to not realise. The game doesn't allow for you to relax without getting your teeth kicked in.
When I play killer for fun, I atleast like to get a few hooks, maybe 5 or 6. Perhaps even a kill. But when you struggle to get even one hook through an entire match, that's not enjoyable. There's nothing enjoyable about op items, predrops and meta perks when you're taking a chill pill. But that's what you gotta deal with. To the point where when you want to sweat it out again, youre probably lower in mmr where you will just stomp survivors who are chilling.
-
option 1 just as a streamer mode would be very nice. anything to help the streaming community not get sniped. while also letting casual players not be harassed on their profiles.
-
it's already one of the best perks in the game, no need to make it better lol. Next we'll be asking if DS should stop Pyramid Head from sending you to the cage.
-
Most the survivors did pretty good on points, and also you are using Ruin Undying and BBQ on Nemmy, which in itself is strong. Also who are you to judge how others have fun? If they have fun by sweating it out, let them. Calling them out for how they play is just not cash money.
