Yeah and nerf selfcare … 80 secs too shorts
Honestly if they made it 180seconds some people would still complain...

dead hard is used more than ruin and bbq because there are 4 survivors every match lol
So self care 100% needs a nerf. Hopefully it can encourage the no heal meta even more... The buff killers truly need!

Shadow Step is the only boon that is actually a threat if you ask me. Circle of Healing is overrated by killers who play by the survivor rulebook. It is cute that they whine about healing speeds as though a tunnel victim has time to get healed. Cringe.
I have to say I agree with the message... Just not the delivery 🤣

I have empathy, but not for psychos who want me to kill myself because I beat them in a video game. I am kind of sadistic though, so no counter argument there...
I do view a huge distinction between "salty" and "threatening"

Dead Hard is not even bad. Hit validation on it is kind of the straw that broke the camels back, in my oh so very humble opinion.
I wish that was the case but the DH complaints had skyrocketed in the months before that. Once DS was nerfed they moved straight onto it. I understood to DS hate but DH has been so inconsistent and a part of the game for so long that complaining about it always seemed so odd to me...
I do see a slight change, like having tonmend after use, coming to it at some stage. But I can't see the perk as a whole changing too much

If I could force a dead hard nerf by outright deleting all three of those perks I'd do it.
I only use bbq for bp and generally forget it has aura reading. The other two I never use because they're hexes.
So yeah. Do it up. I am on board. Delete those three and make it so dead hard requires tokens gained by repairing the equivalent of a gen. Takes 2 tokens. Still need to be injured. Causes exhaustion for 120 seconds and has a individual cooldown of 300/250/200 seconds.
Turntable has turned table. "You are move."
I'd 100% refuse to give up BBQ! Even without the BP the aura reading is so handy! I agree with the hexes though!
As for the survivor perks, the only one I use out of the 3 is BT and if I had to give up the other 2 to keep that one I'd be 100% fine with that
-
I know the game has a ways to go in some regards but I feel they've actually tried when it comes to accessibility.
I remember an amazing Hag that turned out to be 100% deaf. She used perks and notifications to help her dominate (can't think of her name at the moment unfortunately).
I know colour blind settings are a bit lacking but they have made attempts (though not of their own accord) but its better than nothing....
Edit: Not to mention struggle and wiggle changes!
Is it perfect? No. But they're not ignoring these players either
-
For me it's clown.
I can loop and dodge most killers but clown... Once I get caught I'm done for. I don't know if it's just me but I can't see anything in the pink mist and just end up dying fairly swiftly. Which is exceptionally embarrassing given how most people view him as weak due to his lack of mobility...

My point was that it shouldn't be used to justify changes. Sorry if that was unclear! It's pretty late here...

I don't. I don't get any thrill from the misery of others... Maybe I just have empathy or am not a sadist, idk...

the whole "this thing is popular so we're nerfing it" thing is so goddamn stupid, it's almost like there's a reason so many people use specific perks
This. The addon changes on the PTB show that usage is not a good metric for balancing.
As @SeanzuDuck duck said - there were other factors. It was basically ignored by veteran survivors, destroyed new players, required no interaction, etc
-
BBQ and Ruin are used more... Want them nerfed too?

Thanks! I knew the first one but wasnt aware of "revealed". Just claimed it now! <3

Either Dead Hard is for I-frames, or it is for distance. Just like when they changed Balanced Landing to only reduce drop stagger when you aren't exhausted.
If it is for distance then remove the I-frames and give survivors a longer shoulder tackle.
If it is for I-frames the distance gained has to be halved so good use is actually rewarded by using the I-frames successfully as an expression of survivor skill.
Having all of this utility in one perk is unnecessary, and defeats the purpose of having 4 perk slots. This one perk literally should be two different perks.
if they do that the perk is pointless.
I frames with reduced distance means you just get downed a second later.
Distance without iframes? There are other perks that do that better

It's true the problem is with CoH in particular, but it's a problem that could become endemic to Boons in general, if they release another CoH-level boon in the future.
I cant imagine that happening any time soon given how long it took them to introduce a perk to even slightly shake up the meta... What was it? 4 years (David King in 2017)?

Ok, if we want to compare it to Killer Hex perks:
Killer Hex perks should also be infinitely reusable. I mean Boon:Op Survivors can be replaced infinitely, and you're tryign to compare Boons and Hexes, after all.
Yeah I'm pretty cool with making them even if thats what the devs want to do with them. Make boons occupy 1/4 of the map size if killer hexes are going to be map wide, etc. I'm fine with number adjustments too.
I'm just advocating for consistency here...
I'm getting kinda annoyed by so many angry posts saying "Boons bad. Nerf boons" when the majority of the time the only issue most people seem to have is with CoH and not actually all boons...

Wait, he can?
I'd say he should not, and I like playing Doctor! That totally sounds like a bug/bad coding (no offense, devs!) to me!
Doc should only be shocking the floor he's on.
He static blasts through both floors. But his basic shock is only on his floor (and even then is a bit buggy with varied elevation like Swamp)
-
Should killer Hex perks not go through walls also?
I feel Exponential would be even more pointless with this caveat...
Shadowstep would be massively nerfed too...

If your issue with netflix is that it is netflix then maybe try hulu...?
-
So not boons. Just one specific boon that you have issue with.
Any time spent blessing a totem is time not on gens. I'm cool with it tbh.

I don't think boons are inherently a bad idea... just need some tweaking.
breakable walls are an abomination...
sbmm is a harder one. it's what people asked for but not what we wanted

Can´t remember a single time that this kind of advice was given to new solo survivors.
But plenty of times to "new" killers.
On a side note, if you need help with solo survivor, hook me up. I´m sure i can give you some advice if needed.
I think the reason is that new killers will always destroy new survivors...
-
So your issue with the game is... the game itself?
-
Probably as long as it took them to realise that breakable walls were a failure and remove them

So this is the guy who will say the game is balanced but any tactic that the killer uses is bad (I.E using lightborne to ward off, flashlights tunneling and camping is a bad idea even though some killers have to due to nerfed basekit and etc ) and also doesn't play much killer but sure let's just take his word for it and not any other CC who has shown and said that the game is unbalanced and some killers need to play a certain way just to stand a chance on certain match brackets.
just to clarify- who is "the guy" complaining about lightborne? Scott, myself or another? I saw a lot of posts complaining about people complaining about it but never saw one actually complaining about the perk (that wasn't low tier bait anyway).
And which one of us are you saying doesn't play a lot of killer? I think Scott and I are probably both killer mains but I haven't kept up to date with Scott tbh...
I'm not sure if you replied to my comment in error or not because you seem to be responding to things I didn't say or mention...
As for the specific comment you replied to (and link invokved) it details how camping isn't effective and details why. What other CCs have gone into such detail regarding this and proven otherwise?

Maybe not make the killer play easier however there is definitely evidence of people wanting survivor to be basically braindead easy mode to the point where the game should be PvE and played with a crappy AI bot.
And let's take into account all the stuff that this game offers now what exactly do you think BHVR will do to alleviate this without making survivor, even more, piss easy than it already is.
I do think in an asymmetrical game the side with people that requires teamwork needs to be easier than the solo side. Mainly because you are punished for your teammates mistakes and as the solo role you either win or lose on your own merit.
DbD is an odd fish to balance given the sheer enormity of RNG involved. Maps are a huge part (size and loop spawns) and even map offerings don't guarantee specific tiles. The killer chosen. As killer are your perks going to help you against these specific survivors. Are the survivors swf? Are they any good? Do they have perks to counter you/your perks/ability.
So much RNG makes things almost impossible to balance. However, removing the RNG would just make the game repetitive and boring (ie MMR).
They also need to be less afraid of minor tweaks to perks. This mid chapter changes nothing really except for 2 perks.
Maps are the main thing that needs to be balanced. Map reworks are great but map reworks at the loss of new maps and realms will just bore the current playerbase.
TLDR: The best way to balance the game is to firstly balance the maps. Once that's done they can more easily balance from there.

No im not because they are giving out 5000 iri shards for every unlocked face and since he is the only one im missing itll be 20k
no. its 6k in total if you ever played him. no extras for having any masks unlocked

Can we acknowledge a difference between Boon totems and CoH?
Exponential isn't problematic at all and is quite weak imho.
Shadowstep is open to interpretation (I hate it more than CoH personally)

This process is accelerated any time there is a killer side perk. Survivors get at least 6mo of evaluation. Killers, next minor patch.
Mettle of Man would like a word with you
-
I mean the F13 ones were full on broken. If you escaped with a key item that item was just gone and everyone else was screwed. Or if dropped it would float and nobody could pick it up. Dbd isn't perfect but it's a bit better than that
-
Not a cheat... Dont know how you could even use that word in this context?
Also - this should go under feedback or bug reporting. Not General Discussion...
-
They do seem to be actively trying to change these things but seem to be reluctant to fully remove face camping as its a "valid strategy".
The removal of Leather Face masks seems to be just one part. Pyramid Heads cages another. And most recently the introduction of new voicelines for PinHead which seems to encourage moving from the hook after hooking (though the psychological effect of this "encouragement" is yet to be seen fully).
I'm curious if they will add voicelines for all other killers if this proves to be true.
I would not be surprised if they do put cooldowns on crouching and flashlight clicking also. Which will be very disappointing as a mistimed flashlight save can be adjusted with a quick click. Similarly, if trying to stealth around a killer it helps to be able to walk faster and then crouch instead of just being forced to only crouch.

You cant remove the distance or the perk is useless. This is from someone who only used it to get the Adept on David. If I play survivor I use SB instead. When well timed its FAR more punishing

You’re talking about the key rework that was as complex and hard to implement as making the hatch not spawn until one survivor is left. Yeah I can’t imagine why people are frustrated about that taking 15 light years for BHVR to do.
Maybe they felt they had to rush a "lazy" rework with how the community was demanding one immediately.
I'm fine with criticizing what is implemented but when people are roaring for ANYTHING in a timely manner, they cant in the same time complain what they got when its rushed...
-
@Mandy said:
Partly because every time we're transparent about what is being worked on people expect that to be implemented instantly into the game.
We had it with Object of Obsession rework and we had it this time with Ghostface & Legion - we never said they were coming this mid chapter just that they were the next killers to be looked at. And past history has shown this happening time and time again, which is why we're more hesitant in discussing things until we're more certain about what we're able to implement.
Also happened with key rework... People will never be happy
-
Congrats dude! You got those done super fast! I'm impressed!
-
Lets also not forget that BHVR basically lied to all of us when we discovered that the Pinhead model was being used to create the NFTs suggesting that that the licensing partners had done it without their knowledge with this post:
Which came literally 4 days before saying they had worked closely to develop the NFTs with Boss Protocol!
-
I just cant think of a change to DH and NOED that wouldnt kill the perks outright while keeping the spirit of the perks the same...
-
@AsherFrost said:
The argument for removing the masks is similar to the one for having a chat filter and report system at all. Do these things magically end all harassment? No, but they make it that much more difficult, and by doing so will stop a lot of harassment from happening. Just like the lock on your door doesn't make your home immune to burglary, just difficult enough to burgle to stop most people. Those who have a deep enough burning desire to be racist shitbags will still find a way, but the more "amateur" racists, if you will, are stymied.
My issue with the chat filter/mask removal is that it just hides the people who are the issue.
I WISH they had a better report system and then if you report somebody with clear proof (like saved chat logs after a report) that person would be banned.
With the current chat filters I have no idea if somebody is threatening me and my mother, or telling me gg and that I played well...

Get token for a survivor losing s health state. No longer requires hitting twice with a basic attack. So easier by far to get stacks.
Also, it shows the survivors aura instead of just the gen which is a bit more useful imho

@OpenX said:
Hello? Does anyone think this is going to be massively abused by people with map offerings, as well as your typical sabo SWF?
The Game is bad enough with the pallets. I hated it for the hook positions (which could be behind blocked walls) too but this will just be horrible
