100% the same for me! Everyone else is ready but that one person... It might only be 1 minute but all those 1 minutes add up
-
When I get caught by a basement bubba I only have myself to blame and laugh at myself for falling for it. I like memes and dont mind staring at a pretty bubba for the time we share together.
But when I get dragged to the basement with agi/iron grasp and facecamped... Thats the unfun one for me...

In the current patch (I wanna say 5.4.2) what StarLost said was correct- at least from it happening to me at around 4am today

Tested it...maybe 4 days ago and it still wasn't fixed. Either it got shadowfixed or maybe you moved out of CoH range/it got snuffed.
Was definitely within CoH range as the medkit I was using only had a fraction left when I started...
All I can think is I must have somehow found the only combination that didn't do it somehow lmfao

If we go by the way the new MMR works, doesn't their MMR go up if they escape?
A lot of the bad players get to escape because they were carried during the match. Not accounting for their actions and overall chase skill level.
Would it be better for survivor mmr to go off the old emblem system then? and keep killer as is or...?
I've had a few games as killer where the group attempted to bully me, ignoring gens and wanting to die not escape... I killerld all but two and forced them to either do gens or dc. If they wanted to make me miserable I was sure to make them miserable too >.<
-
What I hate about this new MMR system is how it punishes new players.
I started on a new account with a friend and its infuriating. Your teammates do literally nothing and because of that it's impossible to do 5 gens and loop the killer at the same time. Which means your mmr won't increase which means you're getting the terrible teammates constantly. The only way out of that hell is with SWF and then what's the point of going back to solo?

If you even have a tiny bit of medkit remaining, the entire heal while in CoH range will retain the full medkit bonus.
I've tried this and it doesn't. It works until the med kit depleats and then continues as default.
edit: autocorrect

I agree. Insta heals should not take 4 seconds! That's total BS...

I've had situations where the team ######### up and I had 2 hooks near a gen they almost had complete about 10 m from each other..I now have a situation where at most 2 people are on gens and have to come to me. While part of their objective is regressing...It was at 5 gens...I'm supposed to leave the area and let them get both unhooks safely and pop the gen easy...? For what...? Your fun ? No thanks
I've downed someone at shack and got a scream on infectious from the basement..I now have 2 people on hook in basement...I'm supposed to leave a good situation for myself...For your fun..? Again no thanks
There's just situations where it's smart by the killer not to leave. Rather people like it or not.
Even Scott has a video detailing how camping and tunneling is rarely the best idea. Yes there are circumstances where the situation calls for it but its never a good idea to go into the match with the mentality "I need to camp at 5 gens to win"

Expecting the killer to make the game easier for you kinda sounds like beginner mode. I mean, kinda exactly.
Who is asking the killer to play "easier"? Nobody is asking for free escapes or to not play the game. Leaving a hook and going for somebody else, stopping them from doing gens, etc. isnt going "easier". Its playing the game.
I'm just grateful BHVR have said they'd address this as its one of the most boring things in this game.
-
I play more killer than survivor these days. My main issue is how rampant hacking has gotten.
I dont mind losing to better players, etc. Its that I can no longer tell clearly who is a better player and who is using subtle hacks.

@BrokenSouI said:

There's plenty of scenarios where camping at 5 gens is the right move
The only one I can think of is that the survivors are seen en route or just swarming the hook.
What other ones are there?
-
to be fair I see a lot more killer complaints about survivors than the other way around here...
The issue I have with people saying things like "this game isn't you vs the killer, its you and your three other teammates versus the killer" is that in most of my solo q games I have at least 1 "teammate" trying to sandbag. The only way to ensure an actual 1v4 is SWF which isn't a fair way to look at things either.
TL:DR I think anyone can voice complaints about things they find "unfun" in the game. It's those that yell "nerf x" because I should be able to "y" that I can't take seriously...
-
when I destroy the survivors and open the gate and carry the last person to it so they can get free, only to be met with "ez get rekt noob killer". I don't need a "thank you" or to be felatioed but getting met with such rudeness after being nice just irks me...

I normally abide by the survivors rule book and play, as I call it "as if I was running Devour Hope", ie once I hook someone, I just RUN and leave the area.
You would be surprised how many survs holding M1 on some distant gen get totally caught off guard when you bulge in there 20s after a hook.
I normally only start tunneling someone aggressively out of the game, when 2 or 3 gens fly by in quick succession. Also, I normally ignore one survivor all game, as an even distribution of hooks on all of then will benefit you zero. Normally I alternate between two survs and take opportunistic hits and chases, when they present themselves.
I still get called a noob, a crappy camper and thousand other bad and unsavory things.
I don't think many people would complain if it happens for reasons like you stated. It's the face camping at 5gens with 1 dc which most people have a problem with. At that point playing "normally" would end the game faster and be fairer to all.

Both are still playing the game.
The killer's job is to kill. Just because you don't like how they chose to kill you is not an issue of the killer not playing the game.
Face camping is not playing the game. You can literally go afk and make a snack while face camping. The person on the hook isn't playing the game either. They likely had more interaction in the pregame lobby.
I'd rather have a fun game with 0k than play a game where I 4k but barely interacted with anyone else. At that stage i might as well play solitare or minesweeper.
-
Hard to disagree with any points here...
if not for bugs RE would probably be my favourite for the added content. Map looks beautiful even though its horrible...

A killer camping or tunneling at any point in the game is still playing the game.
camping is basically going afk with extra steps.
tunneling can vaguely ve considered playing the game but on beginner mode.
-
Camping and tunneling (unless at endgame) is basically refusing to play the game and ensuring someone else can't play either.
MMR can't be blamed because if you try it at high MMR you'd be gen rushed and barely scrape a single kill.
If a killer is so bad and skill less that they have to use a tactic that would only punish bad players I have little sympathy.
That said, this is a game. No matter what happens in a game there is no justification for irl threats/insults.
-
There was a bug on PC for a short while that showed survivor perks.
They swiftly removed it and when asked why responded that they didn't want survivors to get bullied/dodged for not running meta perks, etc which I think is understandable.
An easy fix would be to have it a selectable feature so you can hide your perks if desired (and to avoid snipers)

Given the typical "communication" I encounter I'm okay without...

I agree except NoED is fine.
If you can't find and cleanse 5 totems before doing 5 gens; the Killer deserves those kills. It's not an 'easy kill' when he's playing with 3 perks against 16 perks for the entire match.
didn't mean noed as a perk in general.
just noed in association with camping. when survivors have no choice but to rush gens and don't have time to look for totems.
noed as a perk on its own is fine IMHO.

Only if they alter gen speeds at the same time.
To be clear: This is not an 'us vs them' comment form me. If all hooks work like P.Head's cages, and Killers are now forced to 12 hook; they will NEVER GET A KILL in a 5 minute match. Or, if they are good, MAYBE 1 kill.
They will never be able to camp the hook if Survivors are nearby, because it teleported away.
They will never be able to camp a killer after the exit gates open; because it teleported away. And if it teleported NEAR the open gate as a free unhook & get away? I know I'd uninstall and never look back.
and if that's the case we can balance around that and everyone would be happy?
balancing now is pretty scuffed with camping, tunneling and noed giving more/easier kills anyways
-
Play as Plague and you wont even notice them >.<
-
Stop.
They can't even do one right
-
These forums are very killer sided. Anything that "boo survivors" gets boosted and kept at the top.
Anything survivor sided, no matter how logical, will just get ignored...
-
Survivor: Curb Stomp
Cleanse 1 totem to gain 1 token.
Spend 1 token to instantly stomp on a totem, destroying it in the process.
"I've had it up to here with these totems on this motherforking map"
Killer: I Didnt Say Go
If a survivor is within 10 meters of a hook after hooking a survivor, the hooked survivor is moved to the furthest hook from your current location. The aura of the moved survivor is also hidden for 5/10/15 seconds.
"Wait your turn or I'll put manners on you!"

Vaulting doesn't always mean leaving the loop. Like, a Survivor would prefer to vault the shack window three times than once and leave. Or the window to a jungle gym with a pallet. They make the Killer wasting more time.
Good thing I said "typically" and not "always" to cover myself then >.<

Weekend probably.
I dont think many would mind too much if it went past the weekend... Or even until the new year! Makes things a little different at the very least
-
Why didnt the Christmas event last until... Christmas? Seems a bit odd to me...
-
Bamboozle. Crowd Control blocks as the survivor vaults, typically leaving the loop. And its a Hex.
Bamboozle blocks when and where you want to. And its not a hex...

@AngyKiller said:
Oh yeah. DCs should count as kills, and trigger any and all on-hook perks, as if the Survivors was hooked for their death hook.
BTW; whatever happened to the 'Husk' system? Where quitters leave behind bodies Killers can hook & Survivors can unhook? Did the devs just give up on that?

Just replace the DCer with a bot.
Or, failing that, at least have the Entity kill them like in Endgame Collapse. It's not hard.
The bots from the tutorial are very well designed! They do more gens than most of my team does... Could be a good solution! I would still settle for challenge/achievement/perk progress...

In DBD history, It’s usually a general consensus that determines the nerfs. i.e. Old Ruin, Old Sef-Care, Old Spirit, Old Nurse, etc. With people who play killer more often, DH is very frustrating to go against.
Also it punishes any killer with animation slow down, hurts Nurse the most if you’ve ever played her.
Oh I get the frustration. The fact it happens in your face is the part I think makes it feel worse.
Ruin was changed because it punished new players and was ignored by older ones. It took me a while to come around but I think its better now. At least its more interactive (I still hate hexes as they are too RNG for my liking to put it into my full rotation).
I cant see how they can tweak DH without changing it completely though... As for now I would rather face 4 DH than 4 SB/HO though.

It can give way more distance because of its ability to reach loops, though.
And even more distance from Killers trying to bait it out and not swinging even when they could (often leading into reaching a pallet etc. when they have to swing eventually).
And it manages to get people distance even if they don't have DH from trying to bait DH because so many people do. Like BT and DS, it manages to have an effect even if it's not in the game.
I've had to recondition myself since the change. Baiting doesnt really work anymore so its more a case of swing and get it out of the way imho...
As for distance, a well timed SB is WAY more punishing than a well timed DH. DH always seems worse because its in your face.
-
I really only stay at the gate for two reasons.
1) Ensure my team make it out alive and possibly take protection hits.
2) Get extra heal points and ideally protection hits for WGLF stacks if I'm missing any.
-
I love playing Freddy and Nemesis. They are both power houses with interesting powers that can give you some good control and interesting playstyles!
(I might be biased as these are my faves after Doctor and Wraith)
-
@agonizing said:
This isn’t about whether DH is the “best” exhaustion perk or not anymore. It’s about it not being fun to go against. It never was.
I'm not advocating anything about DH but "not being fun to go against" always seems like the biggest cop out of an excuse and I hate when its used to justify nerfs/changes. Where is the line then? X killer is not fun to go against. Ruin is not fun to go against. Slugging is not fun to go against. Camping/tunneling is not fun to go against. Being hooked is not fun to go against. Dying is not fun to go against.
Not everything in an asymmetric game needs to be fun for both sides. I dont think its possible either.
I dont love the new changes to DH either but at the end of the day they can only use it once per chase, like every other exhaustion perk. At least this one gives them the least amount of distance from it. The only thing it really punishes is trapper.

Whats the bottom perk on the two survivors to the left? Is that windows?

People were not as good in the game as people are now (5 years later). Also in 2016 there was no swf and the first mori's that came out allowed killers to mori someone without even hooking them. So please stop with this entitled attitude...
Play some killer yourself at higher mmr and stop talking about things from the past that makes it look like killers are complaining for no reason.
I didn't want to comment this but your comment doesn't make sense and i had to say this to you. Thank you very much!
Riiight.. That meme seems to have struck a nerve with you for some reason. It's okay to laugh every once in a while...
A fee points though:
1) "People were not as good in the game". Doesn't that apply to both sides?
2) What was "entitled"?
3) I do play killer myself. I play more killer than survivor. I actually main Doctor so I know most of the killer struggles. This doesn't stop me from being objective however.
4) As for your confusion as to why I was "talking about things from the past" and why the "comment doesn't make sense" to you - I urge you to scroll through the previous posts and look at what I was replying to before posting yourself...

I just had a match on RPD against 4 cross play players 3 people running Alex's toolbox and one sweaty loadout (DH/IW/BT and then breakdown) and one other breakdown with saboteur felt like I had zero hooks to use the whole match and I don't mean from Sabos in my face. Had to let 2 people bleed out cause I couldn't hook. Why is a sweaty player running breakdown? Anyone experiencing this?
Could just be that they're sick of getting tunnelled. Seems like a good anti tunnel build. Just missing DS or maybe FtP

Making them longer is just a speed nerf. I’m talking about a full blown rework. Then if they can get gens in a healthy spot this way. Then that can allow for changes to camping and tunneling. Which then allows for changes to the meta of gen slowdown and second chance perks.
I would love it! I'd love a more varied objective like the ones suggested here...
But I have no faith in BHVR to 1) to anything that game changy and 2) to not mess it up if they did...
If you have more hope than I... I am jealous of you...
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
I’m still waiting patiently waiting for that gen rework to boost the game health by 3,000 percent.
Games are too snowbally for that gen rework. And we know BHVR. Their idea of a rework would be to just change the timing on gens and not change anything else... If they made gen times take longer no survivors would play M1 simulator and they just would survive. To fix that issue they'd then nerf all killers to "balance"...

Nothing wrong with killers avoiding SWF groups. Most of them I've encountered are nothing more than a group of trolls going out of their way to piss you off because they know they have a massive advantage.
I'd imagine most trolly SWFs would hide their friends lists to ensure they dont get dodged?
If youre referring to avoiding SWFs you've played before: Can survivors not be given the same option then - to not face a killer they've been against before?
I've had many games before where I play solo and a killer would use as many busted offerings as possible to just facecamp me because I didnt give them a BBQ stack before (not from DC just from not being downed and hooked).
TLDR: Whats fair for one is fair for all... Either all should know the player theyre facing or nobody should...
-
It really all depends on the time you are playing.
Some people will be playing a 5:30am in their region an have to wait 5mins for a match and suddenly the world is ending and BHVR has dissolved
-
@dictep said:
No. I don’t promote trash people. If the killer tunnels me I dc at last hook
I mean doesnt that just reward the killer? They get the Quitter Bonus which is more than the last hook would give iirc.
So youre really just making sure you get no points...
-
Killers be dodging lobbies when survivors arent wearing default cosmetics.
Cosmetics and player names should be hidden in the lobby screen. It really only encourages dodging and altered playstyles...
