It it bothers you that much, why not throw in an offering that makes 2 special gens.
Or, you know, finish 5 of the other 6 gens on the map that you admit the killer is not defending.
Any games I've burnt the offering, I was the only player to do so. The "event" gens spawned were single person gens with players already on them. Its wasting offerings that are limited use and you potentially (or likely) get nothing for them. Also, what if youre the looper and not the gen jockey? You just miss out completely.

Well, the issue with the anniversary crowns in particular is that if survivors got them just from picking them up, survivors would just rush to a crown and then suicide to get to the next match/crown faster. This happened a lot during some of the game's earlier events, especially the first Hallowed Blight, where survivors would throw the game to harvest pustula plants and then rush to the killer and die.
It sucks but what can you do. It's the same reason that anti-facecamping measures are near-impossible to implement fairly; too much room to abuse it on the survivor end.
100% agree. The pustula vials showed how willing survivors are to suicide when they complete a side mission. I just wish they didnt make the offerings useless for almost everyone - theyre still bugged on killer as far as I can tell

How is the Event Killer sided when Killers cant even Play the Game because Survivors are to strong 🤷🏻♀️
you new to the game or something? you ever played killer with actual infinites? two window shack? multiple exhaustion perk activations in a single chase? killer is easier now than its ever been... Not saying it perfect but its easier.

Killers have a streamlined gamestyle because it it far more intensive than survivors'. Killers can't afford to waste time on multiple objectives like survivors, so if they're playing well they have a better time maxing their score. However, the whole 'bbq' thing is irrelevant. Survivors have WGLF, and since you can body block for stacks it's ridiculously easy to get your double BPS. I honestly don't know why I don't see it used more often, being able to pick people up so quick is very useful.
I believe that most survivors don't fully understand the 4 different categories they have to perform to get close to their max. All too often I see people stick to their niche roles, or worse- avoid chases and only do gens. It's these kinds of survivors that don't see a lot of BP gain at the end of the match, especially if they get sacrificed. Tbh, most of the groups I come across just wanna slam gens and leave immediately. Which is fair, but you just don't get a lot of BP that way.
It is by no means impossible or even that difficult to at least get close to your 32k as survivor. I regularly manage to in solo que minus the exceptions where I get hard tunneled or camped to the point where I have no opportunity to really play. IMO, if you aren't running WGLF, then you really shouldn't complain about BBQ.
Furthermore, having played both roles heavily for years, I think it often gets overlooked just how many various addons and offerings killers have to invest their gains on. I regularly have more items and addons on each survivor than I can ever reasonably use, yet with many killers I often blow through 2-3 entire bloodwebs just to get the one green addon I'm looking for. It's not like I can find any lying around in the trial to take home with me.
Whichever way you view it, it isn't that the event is killer sided, it's just simpler to gain BPs for killer as a whole and it should be.
I'm not advocating for killers to get a second objective...
I'm asking for both sides to get extra bloodpoints as easily.
Make ALL gens and hooks event ones. Make it so that survivors get points for every gen popped and killers for every hook (used or not).
I feel you dont understand that most survivors are aware of the 4 bp categories but arent able to max them all unless the killer allows it. Cant get chased unless the killer chases. Cant get unhooks/protection hits unless the killer gets downs/hits.
Technically survivor bloodwebs get more cluttered with items (which are like killer powers) AND addons, and then perks. Also, certain killers (nurse mainly) work better without addons where you can rely on your muscle memory.
Finally, a killer gets far more BP for playing normally than a survivor does. Even if a survivor plays "optimally" they often wont come close to killer BP.

This is by far the easiest Rift to complete. The Midnight Grove Tome counts towards this Rift. It may never be this easy again...

The perk is such:
For a duration of 100 seconds at the start of a trial, all lit totems are blocked by the entity. Performing a cleanse action on a dull totem immediately lowers this duration by 20 seconds.
Basically just trying to give killers a little totem insurance at the very beginning of the match while also giving survivors a degree of counterplay.
What if the killer uses their 4 perk slots to take up the 5 totems spots? Ruin; Undying; Haunted Grounds; Thrill of The Hunt, etc.
Theres no "counterplay" in that regard. It would be pretty rough to have to wait 100seconds to cleanse to get rid of ruin and still have to cleanse it twice after that. Good BP for survivors if they do cleanse them all I guess?
I'm not saying I agree or disagree - just playing devils advocate...

I prefer it the way it is. Survivors wont do bones now.

I refuse to buy him given the controversy surrounding his existence in DbD. I'd like to think others are doing the same... If people arent willing to play him it will hopefully be a sign to BHVR that we dont support such collaborations...

No idea which queues you are talking about.
Eu west, after 8pm (aka peak player times), PC with X-Play on and I, as killer, can't even check my add-ons before I get a lobby.
Of course it get's longer the earlier in the day it is.
But nothing in the queues indicates any siding towards killer.
I'm West EU also but work shifts so sometime dont get to play until after 1am (I know its my own issue) but during regular times (not events) my queues are no where near as bad... IDK if rank has anything to do with it as I likely do have high MMR on a few of my killers

The thing is, Killers always get massive BPs due to BBQ. This event will probably not increase the BP-gain by much, because BHVR is really stingy when it comes to BP-gain via Event Offerings. If only the Killer burns a Seed, a Killer also only has 2 Hooks to gain BP from, which is 6k BPs at max.
Granted, it is easier to get those Hooks than to get Survivor-BPs, because you need to sit on the Gen when it is completed. In my opintion (and many others) they should have made every Gen/Hook Event-related and just increase the number of BPs when burning a Seed. Also that you dont need to sit on a Gen to actually get the BPs. They did this with the Chinese New Year-Event and it was perfect.
When it comes to Anniversary Events, yes, those are as killer-sided as they can get. Not only do Killers get way more Event-Cakes (same with Seeds, they get more Seeds, because Survivors have so much Junk in their Bloodwebs, even when it comes to Event-Stuff... Yeah, Flashlights and Medkits are cool, Add-Ons kinda eh... But even a Medkit/Flashlight just increases the risk of losing it due to Franklins, from my experience), but only finishing the Trial with a crown is laughable compared to escaping with it.
Reason behind this is that they dont want Survivors to suicide on Hook after finding a Crown, but IMO it just makes it tiresome to get Crowns.
100% agree. I just dont understand how they actually made it worse from the Lunar Event gens. Its a copy and paste event and they still SOMEHOW made it worse...
-
I'm not even using them now. They still cant compete with the (required) meta perks to just play the game if youre not willing to be camped/slugged/tunneled, etc.
If they were one time use - and in their current state - they'd be DOA.
If youre making them 1 time use you'd have to buff them to Hex levels. Map wide, lower audio, etc.
TLDR: Unless DS/BT/UB are made as part of the base mechanics of the game I dont imagine anything will ever replace them...

What diehard swf/players would actually endure two DC penalties for a hatch, one that wouldnt even be visible until they DC as of the latest patch? If you happen to know them personally, I hope you give him lots of hugs and tuck them into bed every night.
They play every game I'm killer lmfao

@Komi said:
Make it an offering that creates two extra exit gates, and the moment a survivor exits through one, it becomes blocked off to the rest of the survivors. This makes the most optimal decision for each survivor to go to a seperate gate, but anyone chased by the killer would either be abandoned to die, as well as body blocking to a gate futile.
Hope I didnt hijack this concept but anything that spices up the game is a high.
So one escapes and 2 dc so the last can get the hatch? I think I'll pass...

Unhooking in front of a killer is mistake. Get multiple downs is a mistake. Not taking protective hits is a mistake.
Killers camp and tunnel without a survivor unhooking in front of the killer.
If the killer is face camping the survivors HAVE to unhook in front of the killer.
Killers can and do prevent survivors from taking protection hits to tunnel someone out early.
Getting multiple downs isnt difficult - especially on killers with high snowball potential...

Killer Meta Perks: Have to earn those effects (Pop, Surge, BBQ etc.)
Survivor Meta Perks: Fix their mistakes (DS, BT, Unbreakable etc.)
getting camped/tunnelled or slugged isnt a survivor "mistake".
"Earn" those effects by playing the game normally...? At most you can say that about Pop and kicking the most progressed gen. Even then sometimes its better to let a poorly placed gen go to ensure a good 3 gen from the start...
-
Theres a difference between the meta perks on both sides.
Survivor Meta Perks: Needed to actually play the game.
Killer Meta Perks: Provides pressure for you.
-
You dont need to do both as JacksonWise said. But I would recommend it.
Its free cosmetics and bloodpoints/fragments
-
I will say is that I agree Video Tape should be killswitched - but not just for the reason you outlined. But for the hacker exploit also.
I see nothing wrong with disabling an addon that doesnt work for killers and only works for hackers...
I know hackers would still be able to hack and make life miserable for everyone but no need to make it easier.
As for Clairvoyance? I hope they keep it as is. Finally a solution to bodyblocking!

I understood it playing soloQ, because they are bad at the game and think it's because killers are OP. They have been baby sited so much for years that even with 3k hours they still don't know the basics of the game mechanics.
- they stick together on the same gen instead of spreading on the map
- they don't "stick" to the wall while looping, they loose ton of time as they don't know how to loop (with 3k hours)
- they drop all pallets without thinking there way when looping
- they go down in 20 seconds top in every chases
- they cannot sustain themselves
- they don't do gen
And then they cry because they loose every trials... Guys, guys, you have 3k hours and most of you are playing as me when i had 200 hours... no wonder why you loose.
Do you know those simple tips, you don't even need to be good :
- at start, spread on the map to get 3 surv on different gens and 1 in chase
- equip kindred
- prefers windows to pallet to avoid the waste, if needed, pre drop one pallet from time to time
- hold W after a hit
Just doing this will give you at least 60% 3 escapes.
The only think I will say in defense of survivors sticking on one gen is that the event is forcing them to in order to get bloodpoints. If they dont finish the gen they get nothing - even with the offering.
Am I maybe taking advantage and prioritizing orange gens when patrolling? Maybe... But I'm playing extra nice/fair because I know how badly survivors get screwed every event...

to me i think there was a way better solution to the hatch/key interaction that wouldn't basically relegate it to being equivalent to mori nerf
but i also thought that about moris
you two are honestly making me second-guess my thoughts on it and maybe it should be impossible to skip exit gate/gens with >1 survivor
It is currently impossible to skip exit gate/gens with >1 survivor...?

i don't know, what was the point of ganking someone out of the game on 2nd down
both keys and moris screwed people out of part of the game, i guess you've never run stuff like blood warden/no way out that did absolutely nothing to people that skipped exit gate entirely?
They were completely different and you known it. Moris removed a player at the start of the trial and meant the game was essentially a 3v1, aka a loss for the survivors.
A 4e through the hatch meant the game was basically over and the only real reason for it was the extra 2k points and the achievement...

but i need you to roll with me on this one
how long has it been possible to 4e through the hatch with one key at killer's expense before last patch
aaaaand how long do you think that was viewed as a problem comparitively speaking
You can't really be that annoyed by a 4e through the hatch. All gens are done at that stage and they have to be VERY coordinated to pull it off.
It's the 3man escape that was BS for me...

Survivor side honestly isn't that bad. If Circle of Healing gets fixed, it's a really strong perk, essentially broken when played properly. But after last update, I've been having fun with For The People paired with Vigil, even in solo queue. I'll bring a double or triple healing medkit, since the broken cooldown is so short with the two. Bad survivors may bring the match down, but that's not a killer issue, more so the terrible SBMM system.
And you'd still need to spend ~15million bloodpoints to get all perks on one character. So if youre banking on CoH being your savior you should still want the grind adjusted... Unless youre like me and play killer to dump BP into survivors lol

It makes sense because survivor doesnt require much skill
Lets be honest. Skill doesnt mean you'll "win" on either side. Theres too much RNG in a game like this.
Pallet numbers/spawns, tiles, basement and shack positioning, gen layout, totem spawns, etc. is all uncontrollable.
No matter how good you are if the match RNG is not in your favour then you've lost the moment you load in...

opening the gates. ive said this so many times. why would i give up my pressure, and if there is hooked survs or injured ones in a chase. why would i give it up to open it? it can ######### you over more than it helps. then your thinking "then why complain about 99ing" because it bypasses a mechanic and blood warden, other perks. do i need to go on? regressing to 80% or 90% would just make it better
You dont seem to be grasping that EGC isnt supposed to give bad killers free kills. Its just supposed to bring the match to an eventual end.
Stop asking for the game to kill the survivors for you and do it yourself.
If you want a perk that regresses the gate (slowly) then by all means ask for one. Just be prepared for survivors to get one to progress the gate slowly while theyre away too...
-
People BM in this game mainly because theyre insecure about their skill.
They arent very good to reliably "win" so when they eventually get a win, they BM. If they consistently "won" there wouldnt be a novelty and they probably wouldnt BM...
Basically anyone who tries to be toxic just shows how unskilled they are =/

Just for reference you get 5000 for escaping (it doesn't matter if it was hatch or the gates). So assuming you escape you need 3000 points to max Survival out of categories including:
- Good skill check: 50
- Great skill check: 150
- Healing yourself: 300 for healing from injured to healthy
- Stunning killer with pallet: 500
- Recovering in the dying state: 316 for recovering from dying to injured
- Struggling against second hook stage: Up to 900 points if you last the full 60 seconds
- Wiggling while being carried: 25 points per second wiggled
- Lots of misc killer/condition specific points (e.g. 100 for recovering from Deep Wounds, 250 for breaking Deathslinger's chain, 1500 for escaping as the Obsession, etc)
Basically if you can, for example, pallet stun the killer twice, healing yourself to full three times, do 15 skill checks and get a few other points from miscellaneous things like wiggling and resisting the hook you can definitely get 8000 points in Survival if you escape.
A pallet stun? In this economy?
50 for ending a chain hunt too... All of these are fairly miniscule though.
The only reliable ones would maybe be healing yourself and pallet stuns but youre not going to be able to get too many stuns unless the killer is a potato. And healing isnt really possible with the amount of tunnelers/campers lately. Ontop of the boons incentivizing killers to not drop chase to allow you to heal. Plus healing yourself is kinda selfish and robbing other of altruism points (who would then do the same to you).
Plus with MMR youre really only supposed to escape every other match so thats really only 2.5k a match for escapes...
I can play killer and 2 hook everyone and clean up with no stress and still get way more than someone who loops for 5gens and escapes. It should be balanced...

Yes, i mention this in my post. Its actually even worse if you only play survivor because of the points only being awarded if YOU complete it.
The one game we actually had 4 cursed seed offerings i got tunneled and didnt get jack ######### even though i survived until one gen left. When i realised this i stopped playing survivor during this event for now.
This is the most frustrating part. You spend 50k bp on a bloodweb for a CHANCE to get the offering only to get potentially NOTHING for it? How does BHVR screw up basic things like this EVERYTIME? Its baffling!

If you want the game to improve because you want to continue playing it, then constructive criticism is always better. But I know that doesn't get replies, so getting triggered gets attention, and people do it for the attention. But does it ever actually lead to changes in the game?
Dont forget planet! People are also complaing BHVR is killing the planet. And havent really gone out of their way to address it either...

I guess OP took offense to people leaving this perfect game from this perfect company and is trying to act all high and mighty about #########.
