  • Afaik there´s no such feature currently. I´d love it too, don´t know why the menu is so unneccessarily loud.

  • I´m sorry for your experience. I hope maybe in the future you can find a way to move past the negative and enjoy the positive, this community has many cool and decent people. Yet no game is worth sacrificing your peace of mind for it.

It would be a really cool thing if the license holders allowed it tbh i mean these guys are starting to get a lot of attention they are getting really good at these songs i feel like it would be a really dope thing on behaviors end.

To be fair the content has been mindblowing for a while. "I´ll kill you that way" is legit far better than the original in my opinion. In todays song the choreo was so great!

I really hope the DEVs will consider some sort of colab so we can enjoy them in DBD. Not sure whether this would be too complicated with the respective License holders though.

Oh and let´s not forget that an imprtant part is still missing. No jason, no band unfortunately. This nasty legal issue can´t be resolved soon enough so the last great Slasher that is still missing can finally make his glorious appearance in DBD.

So true. I´m gonna miss the colour design of MacMillan, it´s extremely relaxing to the eyes to me while also being pleasant to look at.

Isn't that the main complaint against Freddy in general?

Might be the case. I´d argue clown is stronger in chase than Freddy is though, Freddy just has the full package and is easy to use.

  • What do you mean more practical?

The other day someone posted a really nice comparison of various resolution settings. Some of those made certain loops 100% safe that were otherwise mindgameable, smells like low key cheating if you ask me.

Well, mine used to be Surveillance, but it got "fixed." Maybe... Alert?

I would have went with Surveillance too if it weren´t for the fact fully regressed gens turned red again now. Such a shame. Still run it occasionally though.

  • Kindred, seriously Solos should run this more

Surge for (some) Killers, I´m liking it more the more I run it

I ended up splurging and getting both Pig and Ghostface! Thanks for the recommendations all!

Great, you now own all the stealth Killers except Deathslinger :P

I wanna advice you to now practice playing around Spine Chill now, it will come in really handy for your roster ;-)

  • Good job!

To be fair, Leatherface would make sense if only for BBQ. I personally don´t like him too much but after the rework he´s a pretty solid Killer for sure.

Another licensed Killer I do enjoy and would recommend however is Ghostface. Intriguing power with lots of versatility and possible fun builds. Not the greatest teachables, though. Requires a good chunk more brainpower too, so if you´re into that, go with Danny.

Freddy is propably the strongest and most reliable of them all. To me he becomes rather boring to play pretty quickly, but he´s strong nonetheless.

  • Any chance you were lecturing me when I played Bubba yesterday? :P

I´m not a good Leatherface, in fact, I´m pretty bad at using his Chainsaw well. I´m kinda restocking my main Killers currently so I figured might as well burn through his Puddings and Streamers, and after a rather bad match the exact thing you describe happened to me.

One of the team, a pretty skilled Nea, tried to give me some tips. She wasn´t an ass about it either, and I took it well but at the same time I´m not a sore loser, especially on a Killer I know I´m not good at.

So it kinda depends on who you´re talking to I guess, maybe probe a bit to see if it´s appreciated or not next time to save you some headache if your opponent is too salty at that moment.

  • If you´re really confident, make yourself an easy target by giving them an easy first hit. Combined with your default-skin charade it may very well bait them to commit to you.

  • Well I play Clown quite a bunch and I disagree. 1. It would be a bit too strong imo, the general slowdown seems sufficient. 2. Making it slow even more would be prett unfun as Survivor. "Great, I´m a snail, gj getting that hit, guess I got outplayed."

Oh yeah yeah my bad I forgot it goes that way with object I was being stupid and thinking it went the other way. Also ignore the dumb whataboutism people. They too stupid to admit both sides have issues not just their side.

Glad I could clear that up.

I wouldn´t say they´re dumb, it seems to be just a bad habit that the community has developed, myself included propably.

Why is Myers the example all killers for the most part are effected by object? He is one that is effected less though.

He is only less affected in T1. Admittedly a neat upside to an otherwise horrible place to be in, yet in T2 his small terror radius makes him even more vulnerable to Object.

memento mori, iri hatches and infinites want to talk with you

They can talk all they want, in my opinion (imo) Object is still the worst dbd has to offer in that regard.

  • Object hurts him particularly bad. Object is so busted against so many Killers, it´s insane. Ask Trapper, for example. It´s the must unfun thing in DBD imo.

  • Disagree on their strength-by-looks. Bubba has like 150 pounds on him, so in comparison he propably hits like a truck. Outside of the entitys realm I´d imagine billy isn´t exactly built to fight given his severe deformities. He seems resistant to pain though, yet this feature propably wouldn´t help much in a Chainsaw Fight.

  • What a shame. I share your experience regaring prevalence in toxicity depending on role played ( Survivors easily 1000x more than killers).

You had a bad streak with toxic players, but there are so many nice and decent people in the community too, let´s not forget about them. Hope you can still enjoy and your community experience will improve soon.

Oni almost completely invalidates Michael's existence.

    Oni:

    1. Gets his power faster.

    2. Does not slow down at the start of the game.

    3. Can dash and flick around corners.

    4. Has better snowball.

    5. Does not have to 99 his power.

    6. Has better add-ons (scalped topknot, lions fang)

    What does Michael have?

    1. Stealth in tier 1, but still slow.

    2. 20 seconds more of his power

Myers has 15 seconds more if Oni doesn´t dash or down people, regarding duration Myers wins.

  • As someone who plays both extensively, against good Survivors, Oni takes the cake any day of the weak. His kit is just far superior. Saddens me a bit since im a huge Halloween fan, but it is what it is.

  • The Killers that are propably the most in need of serious buffs would be Trapper, Clown, Myers and Pig. Since the MacMillan Estate Realm is about to go live with its graphics overhaul, I have just a little bit of hope Trapper will get buffed. At the same time, the Holiday is right around the corner, and what better time to update Myers to modern standards than Halloween?

If neither of them gets buffed hard within the month I´ll be honest I´m gonna be severely disappointed.

The next Killer to recieve "slight addon changes" like Nurse or Billy? Who knows. Maybe a CD before Huntress can reload, it seems she can spam her power too much and nobody complains about her except for Iri heads. /s

Oni lost to Spirit is the FIRST ROUND

I'm so confused about these people sometimes...

Unbelievable smh... with powers, Oni wins ez. Without powers it´s such a huge difference its not even funny, it would be like me fighting a 5 year old girl in the ring xD but to each their own I guess, the people have voted.

  • This is a tough one. As good as he might be at murdering, Huntress is just too vicious and strong. No way this wild woman could get snuck up on - My vote goes to Anna, long may she reign!

Btw, who the hell did Oni lose to? I must have missed his round, if you asked me beforehand I´d have bet good money that he´d be the one to rule them all tbh.

  • Well before the posts on the forum started I had never heard of FNAF before despite consuming a rather broad variety of Horror media.

At first glance, it looks stupid as ######### to put it mildly. In an exchange with another forum member I got convinced to at least check it out a bit more, so I did.

Given my very low expectations, it was suprisingly good. It makes for a neat story despite the games being quite monotonuos.

For its goofy looks and rather plain backstory, I still don´t like it too much. I can see why people do though, yet I´m convinced it just doesn´t deserve a spot in DBD.

If you guys manage to get a pretty much unknown franchise that doesn´t offer much imo into DBD, more power to you, I respect your wishes.

But OP is so right - it won´t help your case to spam the forums with mostly low-effort posts just to cry for attention. Everyone has read enough of them, everyone knows there are people that want it, there´s no point in continuing these posts other than annoying everyone.

  • In order for 3rd seal to counter the Object you have to hit them with your m1 first. If the seal gets cleansed and transferred, all of its stacks will be lost, so you have to hit them again to apply the effect.

Good luck against a good team with multiple Objects though. Some run it on more than 1 person so that if Object nr 1 gets in the Killers TR, Object nr2 will still be able to call out where the Killer is at all times. If they go all out, every gen you approach will be abandoned and if you do happen to find somebody if they mess up they will be so well positioned that it´s almost pointless to engage in that chase. Nothing really "counters" Object other than being a really skillful nurse main.

  • Both are part of my core roster. Well, trapper not so much for a while since nowadays so many SWF run Object.

I agree with your assessment. Clown is stronger for sure, especially with good addons, while Trapper, when it works, is way more fun.

  • I was so excited about this series of yours^^ hope coal tower makes it, it´s the best map imo.

  • I agree on Adrenalin. Underrated: Kindred. Seriously, this perk has improved soloq immensely for me.

For Killer: Overrated propably pop. Yes, it´s a good perk, but nowhere near a game changer.

Underrated: Surge. On many Killers this can often times be more efficient than pop, it provides information and removes the need

to first walk to and then kick the gen. Situatioanlly really bad though, but a really neat perk overall.

  • Thrilling is great! But I like BBQ. Need them BPs.

  • "Powers are NOT considered" - so Huntress, EZ. The only Killer that could take her on imo would be the Oni.

  • If you guys weren´t aware, the DC penalty has been disabled for the time being because a lot of players (including content creators on stream) got hacked and were forced to dc, resulting in extended bans for the victims.

DC penalty, as much as we need it, won´t come back until the DEVs have figured out a way to prevent widepsread hacking and cheating.

You should have made this a poll.

I adjusted the numbers and mentioned an alterative for the Stalking rate add-ons if they were to be too strong. I also thought about the little audio cue the Survivors should get when you fully stalked your EWIII before unleashing it with CTRL. Quite similar to Oni. Do you remember that eerie tone that was playing when he stalked you when Myers was released in 2016? That would be perfect.

These numbers seem a bit more reasonable. But who knows, maybe the DEVs will come up with something entirely different?

The sound cue similar to Onis fully charged Wrath seems likea good addition too.

Unfortunately I only startet in 2018, so I´m not sure which sound cure you´re referring to.

Exactly, their wouldn't be balance, that's the point. In general, males are physically superior to females.

Generally speaking you´re right in terms of strength, but if you wanna go this far with realism in DBD, Aven and PigmainClaudette already have pointed out some serious gameplay flaws that would come along with it. It wouldn´t make for a fun game man. Playing a Killer that dies from drug abuse midmatch, everyone going down in 1 hit, no one being able to repair gens, most of them not being able to run longer than a minute or two...and don´t even get me started with all the supernatural Killers.

  • @piggypablo said:

Side note, I would LOVE to see a killer moonwalking in a movie hahah. In the lore, survivors have been in this realm for a long period of time, so I imagine the first few matches there were failed skill checks all over the place. Over time tho, that knowledge of repairing generators has become subconsciously ingrained in them.

Yet, why do you want that? I think they made a good design choice by enabling every build on every survivor to basically the same effectiveness. At this rate, people can play whoever they like the most and aren´t hindered in one way or another. And how would you balance male survivors, or would they just be able to do what the girls do, but better?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Gamedesign over Balance. Otherwise you can go on forever with that. Like that Meg would be faster than Jane for example or someone like Quention would be fitter than Jeff. Or that Killers should not moonwalk, because have you ever seen a moonwalking Killer in a Movie? Why can Survivors survive getting hit by a Chainsaw?

How do they know how to repair Generators? Why dont they have to study it for a long time before?

Stuff like that. When it comes to balance, it is fine that realism is not the big factor.

Also, on a sidenote - have you seen Huntress? She is not a little girl (except in her head).

I second this. Especially regarding Huntress. You trolling, OP? Huntress is easily stronger and more able than 99.99% of men.

  • Dam, I like your approach. Many of the changes you suggest seem fitting to "update" Myers power to more modern standards. The only thing I disagree with are your EW3 buffs. Built-in Brutal Strength AND Enduring seems too much, and this is coming from a Myers "main".

I´m with you on the fact that EW3 needs a bit more, but not as much as you suggest. Hopefully the right people get to read this and maybe take something from it, Myers is in dire need of some updates.

I used to watch Kill Counts instead of actual horror movies. The reason being that I wasn't allowed to watch actual horror movies for some reason.

Too bad man. I was fortunate (or unfortunate, depending who you ask) enough to having been able to watch even the hard stuff at a very young age.

  • Depending on the Killer it sure is hard. Remember, while you are locked to only use their respective teachable perks you are free to use any addon, this can make a huge difference.

In the end it might be a numbers game. Try enough and you´ll get there, I´m sure of it.

  • I think to make a judgement on that is situationally dependant.

For example, after a hook if no one shows up on BBQ if I run it at that time, I´ll briefly do a sweep of the area and then proceed to check the closest 2-3 gens. Almost all of my Killers are 115% with no additional mobility, so crossing the map to -maybe- find someone there is a huge waste of time and not worth it.

I´m more than willing to abandon the hook in most scenarios, but there are limits to how generous you can expect a Killer to play.

  • @AGM said:

Not every idea was a hit but there are far more hits than misses. He's right about keys, moris, the devs' priorities being... off at times, which killers/add-ons need buffs/changes most urgently and how, that there are a staggering number of perks that are never seen/used/useful, and on and on.

If they did all the things on that document, sure there would be problems to fix, but the game would undoubtedly be better off overall than before.

I agree it´s a mixed bag, but most of the stuff seems quite nice. An issue I especially acknowledge despite the "nuclear options" is the tremendous difference in Killer powers.

With Trapper, before I took a break from him, I had to basically sweat my ace off against good teams, play to the best I possibly could to even stand a chance. With Oni, I can afford to screw up a few times and still be threatening. The gap is unbelievable, I can only imagine what it must feel like for a Nurse/Spirit/really skilled Hag main to mix it up one day and play an M1 Killer.

This gigantuous difference in effectiveness makes it harder for the DEVs to make changes to Killers overall. For example, in my opinion the weapon wipe as well as the speed boost after a hit should be lessened. This would greatly benefit all the low/meme Killers which need something like that. At the sime time, Killers like Spirit or Freddy would become even more oppressive.

Of course Wraith will never be as good as Nurse, for example, but the gap needs to be lessened to enable easier balancing calls.

  • While spending real money you most definately should get licensed content with it. The shards will come with time, EZ.

So yeah if just aggressively chasing is your thing, Bubba might be the one for you from the license-department since you don´t seem to like Ghostface (he´s more of an advanced Killer anyway, I wouldn´t recommend him for newer players).

Leatherface has the added benefit of BBQ&Chili, arguably the most important Killer perk simply for the Bloodpoints. It also teaches good habits since it encourages you not to stay at the hook and the aura reading is not too bad (neither great though).

Fixing against hacking would be ideal but if they can't figure out how, adding bots as Neko mentioned to at least kind of soften the blow in terms of balance, or put in some kind of DC'er lobby where after enough DC's you start getting put in with other frequent leavers or against bot killers or something? Not sure exactly WHAT kind of alternative there might be, was more a worst case alternative if they can't get the hacking problem resolved.

Yeah I get it, I too desperately want something to be done about the current DCing situation. I doubt though that it will be something that could serve as a temporary solution.

I came to this conclusion because when I asked Peanits why Killer lobby lock was still a thing, he answered that it would be too much effort they would have to put into reverting this since ultimately they still want to implement MMR.

It wouldnt´t be too far fetched to assume they are approaching this issue with the same amount of effort (not meant as an insult, it´s just how they do). My guess would be an all-or-nothing solution with no steps in between.

Definately appreciate people looking for solutions, we need them, so I hope this doesn´t come off too douchey on my part.

Just eat the stun. Eat it early. Presume every survivor has it, and attempt to try an eat 4 stuns by mid game. Problem solved.

I get hit by DS very rarely. By now it´s become a habit to assume every Survivor is running it, and this has served me well. Problem is it´s not feasible to just eat the stun. It renders the chase that led to it completely wasted, and if I decide to go for that Survivor after eating the stun, this would translate to 100 seconds of gen time completed in a worst case scenario for the Survivors.

5 second stun = 20 meter headstart, 4.6m/s Killer gains 0,6m/s = 33.33 seconds of additional chase time (not accounting for any loops, pallets or windows). 3 survivors on gens for 33.33 seconds = 100 seconds worth of gens are being done during that time, or 25% of total gen time required. This is only 1 DS. If you eat all 4 and the Survivors don´t sleep it gives them enough time to do all the gens.

So I slug. Great! It would require another Survivor to pick up the slug, effectively pressuring two of them by that. But they run Unbreakable, so no one needs to pick em up and I didn´t get a hookstate ouf of them. It´s a complete waste, the chase led to nothing, this is why a Killer should never tunnel against non-potato Survivors (from a technical efficiency standpoint, obviously it makes for boring games as well).

I only ever ran Ruin/Undying on Oni. More often than not both are gone within 2 minutes max, so I kinda fail to see how this is OP, but to each their own I guess.
