Thank god this was clarified....

I do enjoy it personally. Yes, skilled SWF groups hold a tremendous advantage over the Killer, but for the most part they´re beatable. The only thing I can´t enjoy and is almost impossible to overcome is when they use Object, that´s just way overkill in terms of unfairness.

Well that too, but if it was liscensed they would have to take it up with the owner and have them come to an agreement, and you are your right they do have free riegn to change perks, however that its onl if they aren't licensed, since OoO is lisenced they not only to balance it but also take it up with the owner, now if its a small change then they don't really have to discuss it, but if its a complete change then yes they will need to talk with the owner
It doesn´t matter whether the perk is from a licensed character or not. They do not have to consult anyone if they need to change it for balance reasons, they just inform the license holder about it as a form of courtesy.
-
@Dabihwow said:
The reason why it has not been change dis because its a licensed perk. In order to change it they would need to talk to the owner of said license and decide if the change is needed and works for them.
No, in terms of balance BHVR has free reign on changes to perks, powers etc.

I vote for Oni more out of reflex than anything else, more like a knee jerk reactionary answer that I want to say Oni would win. EDIT: By the end of my post I changed my mind, shift my vote for spirit.
But TBH, I don't think it's as clear cut as everybody else says it would be where "Oh man, Oni Rips her in half, straight up dude" because think about it: If Oni Ripped the Spirit in half what would happen?
Girl would literally float back together. No cap.
Spirit is LITERALLY already Chopped up in multiple places, What is the Oni gonna do, chop her up some more? Even if he did something like cut off her head, her head would literally hover in place still thinking Spirit and being filled with rage.
I have this hilarious image in my head where the Oni goes for a devastating downward stroke slicing right through her arm, and it turns out his sword literally went between the empty space where her arm is already cut off in the first place. So the man literally whiffed and hit nothing but empty space and air lol.
Oni's advantage - sheer strength & raw power, endurance, extremely resistant to physical injury (but not invincible)
Spirit's advantage - Incorporeal, Can't die (in the traditional sense, being stabbed, bashed, cut, etc. none of that would kill her [if it COULD she would have died from her wounds a long time ago])
To be honest Spirit could probably just outlast the Oni. Shoot I should've voted for Spirit actually.
Would be funny to see how Spirit reassembles after being clubbed down to the size of a golfball though xD

@megswifey You are almost too nice and wholesome to be on this forum. I love your contribution, please don´t get corrupted by all the toxicity down here too much, we need more people like you. Much appreciated!

It is always easy to ignore stats and claim they are bad if they don't match your beliefs or your role. But the truth of the matter is, stats are most likely accurate and it shows a very bad unbalanced game where one side completely overshadows the other.
I´m curious, do you share the experience the data suggests? When you play Survivor, does it take 8 matches to see 1 gen repaired? What rank are you usually, may I ask?
-
"Majority" is something I disagree with. Yes, most toxicity problems in DBD stem from SWF groups that get off by humiliating and bullying Killers, but I´d bet good money they are not the majority. Many matches you faced SWF and didn´t even realise because they weren´t sweat squads, trust me.
Don´t hold your breath on changes to SWF. It´s a great feature in general, but the inherent balance problems pose a task too difficult for the DEVs to handle. No one has come up with a good solution to this problem yet. So it will stay as-is, you will just have to suck it up as Killer.
In the end they are mostly beatable as long as they don´t use Object.
-
No way....0.16 gens done on average, sure. I don´t know about you guys, but in my experience it´s not 1 gen for every 8 trials played. LMFAO xD
This would mean that 5gen 4ks are the average . Dam, seems I´m way worse a Killer than I thought I was, I´m so bad I don´t 5gen 4k 7/8 matches as Trapper, Myers and Clown, back to Slasher school for me I guess.

I doubt this stats are correct, but if they are.. it means that killer overall get way to many kills.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1686711#Comment_1686711
Yea but lets not forget that also killer dc all the time. And dont forget the countless swat teams that destroy baby killers. According to the forum, this is nonstop.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1686713#Comment_1686713
I start with it. If the stats are correct (i doubt this, we knew that killer get 2 many kills but 11% is just insane), we know 1 thing: Killer get overall way to many kills. Across al ranks and skill level, the game is extremly unballanced and very killer sided.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1686737#Comment_1686737
dude, it was the opposite. 80% killrate on rank 1, not survival.
Of course these stats need to be taken with a grain of salt, but within this year the overall survivor performance seems to have dropped extremely if we went from 60%/80% down to 11%.
-
Since the use of third party software to enhance gameplay performance as well as tinkering with game files to give visual advantages are common practice and the DEVs know about them, it seems they are fine to use. IIRC I´ve read today that streamsniping is okay, too, or at least nothing tht BHVR is concerned with.
-
@Golden_spider said:
Possibly due to the fact it's a perk for a Licensed Character so they can't just immediately go messing with it (excluding the chance it has a bug/glitch associated with it) without some sort of approval.
IIRC MCote stated in the latest Q&A that changes in terms of balance etc are completely in BHRS hands.
-
This is the single most busted thing in the game, definately up there with Ebony Moris. It´s mindblowing that it hasn´t been changed for so long, it´s strong vs every Killer and completely destroys some of them. I made posts about Object, yet neither mine nor the posts of others that address the issue are ever deemed worthy of any attention by the officials. Makes me wonder if they are really so unbelievably stupid that they can´t see how insanely broken this perk is, I´d find that hard to believe. ######### Object man.

IIRC the last stats we got showed 80% survival rate at rank 1 (skewed due to ranking issues) yet still 60% at rank 2. This alleged insane drop in survival rate makes me wonder if we had a tremendus influx of new players that got wrecked by hardcore killers during the mmr system (r1 killer with 1k+ hrs vs literal 4x rank 20 all the time) or if low rank survivors make up the vast majority of games.

well thats the same for the perks that "prevent pickups" on survivors right?
Only that this is not what this situation is about. If OP was a brand new Survivor showcasing a video of him and his team getting slugged for over an hour (thankfully not possible) by a seriously skilled Nurse and people came in, telling him in a condescending tone "yOu nEeD tO rUn uNBrEaKablE aNd fLAshLiGhtS" I´d call that BS out, too.

Yeah right, because obviously when you start playing DBD you have these unlocked on all of your Killers and are experienced in countering such scenarios. Makes total sense bud.

If he gives you a free hit and you put your all into it, yea the average person could probably knock him out after wailing on him. The human head can only take so much, doesn't matter if you've been punched once or 1000 times, enough blows to the head will do damage of some kind. Given enough time (and lack of making HUGE misplays like picking up when there are 2 flashlights around) he could have slugged all 4 of them. That was entirely in the realm of possibility.
Not to mention there is a timer in boxing.
Awful analogy is awful.
That´s a huge "if". These guys didn´t let him just knock them down. You seem a bit delusional about the situation at hand, friend.
-
@thesuicidefox said:

Except that they were presenting themselves to him and he could have killed them. He just failed at it.
Holding the game hostage is when you put someone in a situation where they can't end the game no matter what. Example, body blocking a survivor in the corner and going AFK. THAT is holding the game hostage because they literally can do nothing but DC. He could have done something here, he just didn't have the ability to do it.
Again if they were hiding it would be different because then they are neither doing objectives nor engaging with the killer. But they were literally in his face all game.
Yeah, right....like if you picked up boxing for a month and went up against Mike Tyson. All you gotta do to end the fight is to knock him out. He´s standing right there so you could easily do it right?
-
Hopefully DBD will be in a better place if and when you make a return. So long.

Nah man, something basically every Killer would prefer to avoid because it gives unfair advantages can´t be bad, can it? It´s the Killers, they want ez 4ks every single game and survivors spawning hooked. Nothing wrong with enhancing the performance of a group way above their actual level via insane coordination and free information, it´s hard as-is as survivor /s

I doubt it.
Know why?
They fixed it in the past. If you grouped up as an SWF group, you'd be put against a killer of the same rank as the highest ranked person in your party, not the lowest.
A few people complained because their queues were longer and 'oh I'm just teaching my lowbie friends the game. Yes, they have full meta perks and 1000 hours experience a piece, just ignore that please.'
Similarly, killers had the same protections, meaning that a rank 13 killer would not be put up against a rank 1 survivor. This was completely removed too.
This won't be fixed.
I don´t like to call double standars, but instances like this and the whole pop nerf fiasko make it really hard not to.

And like every single one of these smurfcomps, they were insanely BM and deliberately stalled the match out to grief.
Keep in mind that BHVR fixed this a while back.
These same groups complained about queue times and the fix was quietly reverted, along with killer matchmaker protections.
Yes the BM is disgusting to watch. I bet they nutted all over their pants because they found a brand new player they can humiliate.
If and when the "new and improved" MMR goes live, haven´t they planned to address this? Like, a multiplier, increasing with every member of a party and some form of protection for new players? Matches like this can´t be what BHVR has in mind for new players trying Killer, can it?

I'm a 2.5k hour player who's currently low ranked as survivor because I rarely play it and when I do it's usually me and friends messing around etc and therefore not pipping. Guess I should be banned then.
There is nothing stopping him from killing them. Suppose I should be thankful for every killer I've ever ran for an extended period seeing as they haven't reported so I can get my oh so justified banned.
Actually, there is. You´re missing th point here. OP is a new player, how in the heck can you expect him to just kill them man? That´s just ignorant, this squad clearly was experienced. At this point it´s not even a match.
-
I´m not sure whether it´s possible to cheat on console, but there are hacks to make a player appear as if they were on console. Helps them lessen suspicion. I had supposed console players literlly vanish in plain sight only to reappear somewhere else later, so there´s that.
-

I don't think they should be penalized for playing well. I think they spent a lot of time playing dbd and it would be wrong for dbd to penalize people who have spent a lot of time playing their game. They have invested a lot of time supporting dbd. One would think that's what dbd would want. I think some of y'all are crybabies. Just get good and match their skill level or go play fortnite or something. If you can hang with the big boys don't play with their game. It's clear they were swf. If you can't keep up dc and accept the penalty for not being as good. The killers clearly have an advantage as for as being faster then the survivors. Use that to your advantage. Find ways to get what you need done instead of whining about what others do or don't do. This should have been a teachable moment instead of finger pointing. How hard you practice shows. The way you shut someone up is beating them at their own game not tattle telling. "Oh they were to good and their friends were really good too their so toxic". I can't take sensitive people that game that's the worst. I would have wanted to play them over and over again until I got just as good as them. I know some of y'all are sensitive so let me say this I'm not trying to be rude just saying what I would tell myself. Things don't always go your way, sometimes you get a raw deal but this was no raw deal this was Claudette at her finest or worst lol.
I wonder which forum member you are, hiding behind a first post smurf to spew some nonsensical insults. The OP is a brand new player, you can´t expect him to have the experience to deal with such a bully squad with Killers already fighting an uphill battle.
You´re propably too sensitive to use your main account bc you fear answers you might not like.

Tinkerer. If you're undetectable, you can see Objects on any distance but they can't see you. The survs will still know that the killer is looking at them because the perk will light up if the killer is looking at the object user.
Actually the Killer looking at the Object does nothing. If the Object looks in the Killers direction the icon will light up, giving away the Killers approximate location if they´re undetectable, and hence working like a premonition without CD even if "countered".

Can´t wait for Object to finally get balanced man. The rest is fine imo, you ran a strong build too and u got a 4k, without addons. GJ!
-
It´s highly situational as what to do in such instances. It depends on many factors, for example you may llet them run to the empty map areas if theres another survivor nearby that you can pressure. If the area the survivor is running to has been cleared of pallets, chasing may be a good idea. If you have no other survivor nearby, just chase the guy you just injured.

Why does it sound like actual Kenneth in my head reading your laughter? :D
-
I like them all except for Claudette. She´s the literal face of the toxic Survivor community and she sparks my rage tickles. I know she´s not like that in the actual lore, but over the years I find myself increasingly unable to distinguish anymore.
Cake goes to meg though as she too loves sports and she is so caring, it makes me smile.

Assuming they'd be able to use their powers, Spirit would just stop existing and then would kill Kazan without any chance for him to outplay her, without powers though Oni would rip Spirit in half with ease.
Well, like in the game, she could still be heard. Given how extreme the difference in fighting prowess between the two is I reckon Oni would actually beat her blindfolded.
-
This is why I always run Kindred. I just wish it would always help, too. I hate it when that happens.
There are cases where the trade-off might be worth it though. If they manage to get the last 2-3 gens done while I´m hanging there, admiring the visually very well designed environment, I can kinda forgive them for it so long as they get their aces over to finally unhook me.
-
I´ve played tons of Oni for the last two months at rank 1, too. I´ve run the exact builds you mentioned and I feel they´re good enough to take on every team that isn´t top end tournament level.
I experimented a bit with chase perks like bamboozle, but in the end I felt it just wasn´t worth it. These builds are just perfect, in my opinion everything else on him is meme-ish or for fun, but I´d happily try something out that someone comes up with and that could work well.

4 survivors to 1 killer means you're going to see more toxicity from survivors, even if there's a bit more of it from killers on average, tbh.
Even considering the 4:1 ratio it´s baffling how much more toxic Survivor players are than Killers on average, but that´s only my experience. It seems that it´s shared by many, though. If you encounter many Killers that BM you´re quite unlucky I assume, I legit get that extremely rarely if at all.

Thanks, I appreciate the helping remarks.
Though I am by all accounts very much a baby killer, but It is also important to remember, that at the start of the video, I have been fighting with them for 15 minutes already and was pretty much on tilt at that point, so what you see there is far from being me at my best :) which against a group like this is not helping at all.
Eventually I started calming down once I realized they are not going to go away and towards the end I also started to recognize their patterns better plus maybe they were getting bored of me too.. :) I do not know which, I am just happy it was over :)
I noticed you got better with the hits towards the end. So since this match propably wasn´t exaclty fun, it may make at least for a good learning experience!
-
Dude is this for real?
If it is, you were screwed by matchmaking. This was clearly an experienced SWF bully squad who had a field day with you. What they did is actually a banable offense, so good on you to have video evidence since without customer provided videos the DEVs can´t take action against any kind of offense.
Without wanting to sound condescending, but you have a long way to go friend. Kudos to you for not DCing, hope you get more appropriate matches in the future. Btw, strongly advice you to check out some guides about loops/chasing etc. You whiff a hell of a lot.
Still got that nagging suspicion though that this might be a staged incident.
Edit: I love your writing style, 10/10 funny

Killer can hurt survivors but not the other way around? I disagree with that. You can run the killer for 4-5 generators, slamming pallets on their head the entire time, and that is not hurting them?
If a killer is focusing me and they don't have a particularly BS chase mechanic I love it. It's my chance to carry the game. That's why I don't get people who complain about being tunneled. I'd rather get tunneled out and be the person with the entire map to work with than someone hiding and doing the gens, because at least then something friggin happened that game.
I like that attitude, you seem to be the kind of guy I learned not to chase for too long :P

The reason survivors ######### on killer mains is usually because the killer wants to be the power role and indeed has the power to actually "hurt" survivors, while they can only run away and cant do anything else. Killer usually behave like total #########, so it feels good to give them a taste of his own medicine when they actually succeed escaping or even trolling the killer.
I dont like toxicity in general, but thats most likely the reason.
Also respect has to be earned. Lets use you for example. I dont have any respect for you because you are a whiny killer main who is not even happy with a 4K. So why should i have respect for you and other killer who think like that?
Well I find it hard to believe that most Killers are total #########, but if that´s your experience, I´m sorry for you, you have to be unbelievably unlucky in this regard.
Secondly treating everybody disrespectful until they earn it is an (literally) unhealthy mindset. Many people I know would eagerly take you round the corner to teach you some if you´d behave like that, you know?
-
Not even close man. It´s like asking whether Alistair Overeem would win against Meryl Streep.
Legendary Samurai that slaughtered countless other renowned warrios, often numerous foes against him alone vs girl that trained Kendo for a bit.

Oni is my guilty pleasure. I feel like he´s borderline OP tbh, it takes tremendous juking skills to not get downed within the duration of his power. Of course roaring and smashing everything to bits is a extremely satisfying, too.
