Do you have something that isn´t common knowledge, friend?
JK, bad solo Survivors have it hard and the average Killer will do well against them. Good SWF are almost impossible to beat, like it´s always been.
-
First off it´s just a game after all. Second, it´s despicable behavior. Bring all the strongest ######### you can while having several thousands of hours advantage over your opponent and then still have the audacity to complain about stuff. It´s hypocritical to the max, I don´t like it.
-
Have you had your talk with Jimmy Hopkins yet?
-
I suggest you do your homework OP before you make posts trying to feed into a false narrative. C for effort.

They sure love making sudden, unnecessary changes and seeing the community flail as we adjust. No one ever asked for a range cap on Discordance, and yet we got it. But what are we gonna do about it? Stop playing DBD?
When your friends ask why you keep playing a game that is bug ridden, completely at the mercy of hackers, where severe balance issues get ignored for years, that is grind heavy, has DEVs with questionable priorities, with a community full of toxic people
-
That must have been quite unsettling. My first gut feeling would be that this guy is just a troll, but they may very well be some next level masochist that enjoys instilling this strange feeling in other individuals.

How is not telling anymore that it excist before it has effect not a buff? Especially when the nerf you are talking about is the most insignificant thing ever.
Who outside of below 10 hours players missed madness or jiggsaw skillchecks because of lullaby?
The "nerf" is meaningless, the bugfix fixes one of the issues with the perk.
It's a buff, not a big one but calling it a nerf is ludicrous
Both changes are very miniscule, but it´s a net nerf imo.

May I ask if you purchased the last rift or have recently bought auric cells? I'm trying to figure out exactly what triggered the bug for some users. I'm sorry to hear that you did not get them though, I hope once they realize how unfair it may be to players who did not get them that they will make it right one way or another
I hope so, too. I´m a steam player, bought my last shards for tome 3 iirc. Didn´t get any, and it feels pretty unfair that some players are gifted 1k AC while others aren´t.

... lullaby got buffed.
Really? AFAIK they lessened the skill checks that were affected by it and did nothing to compensate. Smells like a nerf to me, but feel free to correct me if I´m wrong. Fixing the bug that showed Lullaby before the first stack wouldn´t pass as a "buff".
-
I like the feeling of dread and urgency once I realise the Killer has gotten Devour Hope stacked to 3. Makes the game that much more tense immediately^^
I also like Head On and Pebble, just because it´s so funny and unexpected most of the time :D

Im coming up with a theory, but need more input from others.
I've purchased recently cells and got the bonus...
Lucky you. I have a feeling the people that weren´t given 1k free auric cells will not be compensated -.-

No, it´s Mikhail Myjersczi.

Have you purchased any lately? Maybe its a new cash back feature?
Nope. I think the last ones I got were for tome 2 or 3.
-
I didn´t get any, either. Feelsbadman -.-
-
Billy. I am trying but it´s really hard for me to still enjoy him after the rework...P3 all perks -.-
-
Source?
I´d be all for it though, we need more than Spine Chill (unreliable against her) to influence our decision making, just guessing is not enough.

Eh,optimization is absolutely awful on console after this update
Too bad...sry. I´m on steam so I wouldn´t know.
-
The graphics update and optimisation were really good. Gameplay wise, there´s still tons of stuff that´s miserable. You may have heard of Urin+Undying+Tinkerer, a build that is extremely overwhelming on Mobility Killers and especially so vs solo Survivors.
More people have picked up on the fact that OoO is the strongest perk in the game for SWF by a mile and started to abuse it more.
In the recent patch they made perk changes that were questionable at best while ignoring the problematic ones.
I´d say it´s a good enough time to give it a go again, not much has changes in the grand scheme of things.
-
Yes, they nerfed it. Same with Lullaby. They finally gave in to the overwhelming wave of complaints about them and addressed these severe balance problems.
Maybe now they will have time to take a look on the niche problems that almost no one has an issue with. DS, Undying, Object for example.

If he's not strong I don't want him in here. Otherwise he would feel like a cash grab. We need to do Jason justice!!!
Can´t argue on this one, I´m all for that, too ;-)
-
It might very well open up possibilities for abuse. As soon as it triggers, you´re gonna have a pair of Survivors that make a lot of tiles infinites. For many Killers this will create a situation where there are 2 unchaseable Survivors in the Trial. It doesn´t matter that you´re chasing two of them at once if the possibility of winning that chase are that close to zero. We´re gonna see how this turns out, I hope the majority of the playerbase will sleep on this one.
If what Spacecoconut (and the descriptions) suggest is right, we´re gonna have a new Survivor base mechanic soon, too. 20 seconds of speedboost without causing exhaustion every game as long as you grind enough during the event. I believe this is propably just an overlook in the description, but if it isn´t, we´re gonna have a situation where every Survivor every game will be able to force the Killer to drop chase once a match. Tinkering with movementspeed is very dangerous in DBD as it´s so delicate in terms of balance.
-

We dont even know how much speed it is. Gens are gaining progress no matter what you do. I find that hard to be used as an argument.
But having a 20 second speed boost every game that doesn´t cause exhaustion and can easily be used to reach any tile so long as it´s not a super mobile Killer is busted af. Each Survivor will have the option to force the Killer to immediately drop chase by the push of a button.
If enough Survivors grind enough of these during the event and the DEVs are dumb enough to allow the use after the event it´s basically a new base mechanic for Survivors. All the non-mobile Killers will be screwed, forcing everyone that wants to continue playing to migrate to the OP Killers. And who wants more Nurses or god forbid more Spirits? I sure don´t.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
If we can't get THE Jason then why would we settle for a knock off? Besides I kinda don't want Jason in here if he is going to be another M1 killer that can easily be bullyed.
But the Band is not complete without him. If there´s any license out there that deserves and needs a spot in DBD, it´s definately him for so many reasons. I´d argue that M1 Killers aren´t actually that easily Bullied anymore, at least Freddy and Michael aren´t.

to extra rub it in?
No, some people are not experienced enough in abusing Object in SWF to twist their camera to know where the Killer is coming from. It´s for the extra lazy people.
-
Depending on your choice of Killer and given the Survivors are good, you´re just screwed. Gonna play M1 only with every chase starting at a great disadvantage. Fun times.

One of my favorite toxic matches with doctor was when we all got slugged and I was the last hooked, and the doctor ran around me spamming his shocks and nodding his head as I struggled. Worst match against him so far, but I couldn't stop laughing :)!
Can somewhat relate, when I get facecamped and the Killer keeps hitting me on the hook, I laugh out so loud^^ Especially if it´s a Billy or a Bubba, it´s just too hillarious :D

If it didn´t bother you, you wouldn´t have felt the need to make this kind of announcement.
-
You´re gonna have a miserable time with DBD if you get offended that easily, friend. First, not all t-bags are BM (most are of course). Second, if you respond like this you´re not only impeding the fun of your foes, but your own as well. Try to look past that, grow a thiccer skin, you´ll need that to enjoy DBD.
-
As a Killer main I have to disagree. I changed my original stance on the topic. My main roster is not equipped to properly capitalise on this combo (they´re basically all 115% M1 Killers) but on Killers like Blight, Nurse, Spirit, maybe even Freddy or Billy, this build is just nuts man.
Competent teams are very well able to deal with this, but how many people qeueing as Survivor don´t fall into top player category? Especially in soloq, they´re screwed.
It doesn´t neccessarily need to get "gutted" but given how overbearing this build is on the already really strong Killers vs the majority of the Survivor playerbase, it should be addressed in some way.

Dang a power that's reactive rather than proactive does sound weak when I think about it. Combined with the RNG of escaping traps and his power easily being negated with a short action. But he is one of my favorite designed killers so I'm still gonna play him (might make him a side character rather than my main). I'll look into Otzdarva and see his tips and tricks. Thank you for the help.
You´re very welcome, the others here already gave valuable starting advice that I was just too lazy to write :P
Especially what @Heartbound said - never go without one of the bags, Trapper is arguably the weakest of the roster without addons.
-
Trapper is one of the hardest Killers to play against competent Survivors. He has to invest more time to use his power than any other Killer, making his early game really hard. No Killer has as much counterplay options for the Survivors as he does. His power is RNG based to a large degree and all the stuff that is universally strong on the Survivors end is usually even stronger against him. He´s my 2nd most played Killer, I love him, but just bear in mind that you are at a tremendous disadvantage compared to other Killers.
No one is better at giving Trapper advice than Otzdarva, check out his YT (he goes by Not Otzdarva there). Watch his Killer tier lit, Good builds for every Killer video and the addon tier list. He´s got some trapper specific Videos, too.
Best of Luck, Trapper has it rough these days.
-
Nah that can´t be right. It would be outrageous to basically add more movement speed to the basekit of Survivors that farm enough during the event for years to come. It would be completely busted, no way it´s gonna be usable after the event ends.
-
I pretty much retired from Billy. Played him a lot 2018/early 2019 and after that only occasionally. Idk if it´s me but after the rework, I can´t hit sick curves anymore for the live of me. It feels different but I can´t put my finger on it. I miss the old addons, too...
The roar and overheat propably don´t help, either. Many people seem to have quit him for good simply because he isn´t fun anymore, not neccessarily because he´s weaker.

Wraith?!
His aura is hidden while cloaked (Undetectable). And to avoid the OoO user having their perk light up, you deal with that the same way as Spine Chill: approach gens and survivors at an angle.
Neat, I bet this works very well against Object players that don´t actually look out for the Killer. Sry, this just doesn´t cut it against seasoned players.
-
Jimmy Hopkins would like a word with you
-
Myers- Corrupt, BBQ, Surge, Brutal Strength
Clown- STBFL, Surge, BS, BBQ
Oni- a) M&A/Pop/BBQ/IF b) Ruin/Undying/BBQ/IF
GF- Whispers/BBQ/Pop/Corrupt
Trapper- Corrupt/STBFL/Surge/Whispers
Billy- Whispers/BBQ/IF/Enduring
These are my go-to basic builds for my main Killers, many perks being interchangeable. For Oni, I don´t see much room for variety, yet the others do offer decent alternative choices imo. The most expandable perks are mainly BBQ/Surge/Pop/BS.
Regarding addons, well, I´m sure you can guess which I run the most. On Myers and Oni I rarely use any since they don´t need them to be very effective.
-
I really liked "Share your wholesome DBD moments", it was a nice change of pace from all the heated discussions.
-
Great Nurse players for sure. Recently I tried some Billy again after a looong time, and he seems way more difficult since the rework, too. Props to the pro flickers out there ;-)

You do realize they have records of every match, right? Many matches go on without any survivors completing 1 gen. This is the accumulation of their statistics that they have accumulated over a period of time
Please check out Peanits clarification. You seem to have missed it.

That´s what I suspected, too. Guess the community failed.

SWF groups are cheating and should be avoided whenever possible. Inspect profiles and look for PC/console mixed groups. Don't reward them for giving themselves unfair advantages by letting them play.
Really? A forum smurf account? What are you hiding from?
-
You forgot Trapper, he suffers just as much if not more than the ones you listed.
And yes, it should have been nerfed to oblivion yesteryear. It´s time the DEVs stop turning a blind eye to this sickening balance issue.
**** Object man, it´s the strongest thing in DBD hands down if used by SWF that aren´t complete potatos.

Eh, who knows where they're pulling these stats from, but if we're being completely honest, the average gen completion is probably not much higher than 2. That's the highest I'd go. And 5 gens completed probably is quite rare if you consider how many people are in the lower ranks where it's very killer sided because survivors have no idea how to play the game yet.
And the swf teams are also just one part of the bigger picture no? There aren't many 4 man SWF groups in the game, it's mainly 2 or 3-man, and they don't escape that often from what I've seen, nor do they even get a lot of gens done in the first place because they're just screwing around because they're bored.
Yes, they are just a part of it as well. Just wanted to shed light on the fact that it isn´t as one-sided as it may seem.
Agreed on the low ranks not getting shoot done, it´s miserable down there. We won´t know how many gens get done overall though. From my experience, it´s anywhere from 3-5, but I main Trapper, Clown and Myers. Anything less is pretty rare, more so on Trapper than on Myers.

I agree with the map and pallet changes but i think the rest would be a little bit too much.
Especially if you pair that with Save the Best for last
Don´t forget this is only to accomodate for the hypothetical severe solo bufs, I think it´s justified. Would help the M1 Killers more then the OP ones.
-
Reduce size of some maps. Better unsafe-safe pallet ratio for Killers to allow more interactive gameplay. Reduce M1 weapon wipe animation by 0,2-0,3 seconds, reduce survivor speedboost after a hit by half, maybe Whispers basekit.
-
I got a feeling they intentionally released these stats without context. Maybe they wanted to see how much BS we can be made believe before peanits cleared it up, idk :D
Despite him having them put into context, there are still responds in this thread that disregard that. Omfg I can´t believe some of these people, for real.

Maybe it's not 4k at 5 gens, but for a lot of people I've talked to and seen on twitch, 4k or 3k + hatch is their average kill count. You don't see Scott losing many games. In fact I don't even remember watching a match where he's lost as Blight yet.
Dude, these stats claim that every 8 games 1 gen gets completed, with the previous 7 having not a single one completed. Is that your experience, too? 5 gens completed would have to be so unbelievably rare that it´s basically impossible to achieve and would be shown as outstandingly sick performance montages on YT only the top 0,001% of players could ever achieve.
With these stats, 4k/3k+ hatch at 5 gens IS the average. I find that very hard to believe.
Regarding Scott, yes he definately has Blight down to a T. Maybe the Killer is due to some nerfs, just like Undying, idk I only played a handful of games for the achievements.
There are also SWF teams that 4e 9/10 matches. What you´re bringing up is just one input of the bigger picture.
