  • I don´t even know where to start on this one. Unfortunately it´s a rather prevalent problem among the community. The urge to humiliate and bad mouth the Killer is widespread. Of course both sides can be toxic, but from my 1,500 hrs experience the BM from Survivors surpasses that of Killers by x1000 easily.

I know it can be hard sometimes, but don´t take it too hard. You got reasonable expectations when trying a new Killer, so that´s good. As long as they do not cross certain lines, you will just have to take it sometimes in order to be able to continue playing.Or close the chat, at the cost of missing out on the nice talks ( I always leave it open).

Survivor isn´t as brain dead ez as it used to be unless playing SWF, I don´t exactly know where you´re going with superior there.

Eventually you may move past all this and encounter all the nice people of the community. There are many, the little idiots just stick out like a sore thumb.

Too bad there are always people who ruin this by saying ggez

    Yeah....

Just last night, I gave Billy a go again. Double bumping-addons since I can´t curve anymore for the life of me, jiust wanting to get some practice in.

In comes the sabo SWF. These guys were great players, needless to say I got my ace handed to me hard . I admit I was a bit salty, but I knew I´m not a great billy beforehand, so no biggie. I gave them the gg wp and they were actually decent to me, except for one of them who felt the need to come with the classic "ez". His mates actually called him out on that, so yeah being somewhat gracious in defeat and showing good sportsmanship can go a long way sometimes.

"I believe it is intended, because of aim dressing." I mean, I only noticed it recently, so it might be a new thing. But I can imagine anything between they messing something up or giving it as compensation for the poor Aim Dressing (even tho, it would be a bad band-aid fix for this).

To be fair we had our fair share of band-aid fixes. Given how...questionable aim dressing can be at times, it might very well be some sort of "compensation" in the sense that it´s less punishing.

OP, if you´re serious, ######### is all I can say to you.

  • Good sportsmanship and fair play always deserve appreciation. Thanks ^^

  • Rant away Coconut, I often disagree with your conclusions, but at the same time it´s interesting to follow your reasoning. I like taking in different views and opinions.

I suggest give him the power "Bush man. When michael presses Ctrl while stalking he teleports into/near a bush and stalks at 200% speed. It also effects survivors with. Look at bush, which causes them to look at bush"

You got a lot of bush on your mind.

    Doh Ho. Try it out some time? That has some underlying I M P L I C A T I O N S that I haven't ever played him.

I was one of the first people praising Oni for being a unique variation of "killer go fast and down people" and not just a worse Billy.

And he is susceptible. The dash only has 90° turning radius. And regular Demon Strike still has to charge before attacking. He can easily catch people between loops but it's the same ol game of peekaboo it's always been at the loop.

Oni also loses charges for using his power. Down a survivor and you lose 7 seconds.

Ye my bad, it seemed like you had some misconceptions regarding his power.

On the other point I kinda disagree though, but experiences may differ of course. I´ve met a whole lot of 1 survivor player so far to be able to reliably avoid me during the power, this meg was an absolute Legend. So yeah he´s susceptible to looping against top end tournament level opponents, but not so much in regular matches,

Hide their hitbox? You mean regular hiding? You can counter that by going around. Oh no! You're feeding the Myers! Even a sliver of elbow can feed you. It's ridiculous how people underplay how easy it is to stalk.

Otz is mentioned a lot. I find the amount of people idolizing him to be annoying as they don't have any good arguments of their own and need to rely on a video to go SEE? SEE? I don't give a flying ######### about Otz or any other streamer standing on their soapbox.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1683545#Comment_1683545

Stop comparing him to Oni. Oni only thrives because no one heals. Their powers are functionally different.

Oni has to wind up his attack, Myers can just basic. Oni still has to stop to pick up blood orbs. And even with the speed advantage he is still susceptible to normal looping. And what use is infinite uses when a match only lasts 10 minutes on average with all kinds of variables in between?

The meta changed to what? It's been the same 4 or 5 perks being endlessly abused for the last 3 years. Again they didn't add anything, just changed existing mechanics. Myers suffers from issues that other killers in the same class suffer from so the issue isn't him, it's other parts of the game. When they change those, he gets his buff.

FYI, Oni does not have to stop to gain blood orbs. You can pick them up mid chase, suffering similar movement penalties like Myers but much shorter. Neither is he succeptible to regular looping, his power allows for nigh guaranteed hits in all but a few tiles if you´re skilled. Maybe try it out some time and see for yourself.

  • My guess would be either Coldwind Farm or Azarovs. On a side note, I´m really gonna miss the MacMillan lighting - it´s so smooth and relaxing to the eyes. What a bummer....

It always amazes me how the cheaters find new ways to develop new cheats to DBD. This time around I saw a guy hook himself without the killer on a hook to prevent the killer from hooking another survivor he was carrying. Everytime the killer was about to get to a hook to hook someone, this cheater just hangs himself on that hook like it was already occupied and then unhooked himself when the danger was over.

Did I report him, of course not. I have no video evidence of him nor do I care to bother to film every of my game and then fill out a form outside the game. Again, BHVR, provide us a real report system to deal with these cheaters, thank you.

It really is a shame that in order to deal with cheating they are completely dependant on video evidence provided by the customers. Baffling, to put it mildly.

  • You guys bring up valid concerns, I´d find it to be a shame though to deny everyone some insight because of a vocal minority that ignorantly try to push their own agenda. I´m sure there are tons of people among the community that are reasonable enough to take these stats with a grain of salt and are not hellbent on making them align with their own assumptions.

  • I want a WWE skin series. Undertaker/Goldberg/Steve Austin Trapper, Big Show/Vader Clown, Triple H Oni, Wraith Cena cuz you can´t see him, Shawn Michaels Ghostface(both medium-built narcissists), Kane/Khali Doctor, Nicole Bass Huntress, and for Survivors there are some options, too, like Zarina and Kate as the Iconics for example.

  • There have been numerous exceptionally good players I faced. One Meg stands out for me though - she was the first Survivor I couldn´t get with the Kanabo no matter what, she was an absolute Legend. Made me feel like a baby Oni every chase I took with her.

  • Neat, you obviously put a lot of thought into that!

What I find problematic is the passive token recharge. Since it´s quite a significant buff, something like 15-20 seconds seems more reasonable, since active recharging is still possible.

Never mind. I’m giving up already. I feel like I’m just severely handicapping myself by even trying to use Wraith.

Well, you are. I´ve encountered some pretty good Wraiths though, guess there are people that main him hardcore and can make him work.

In case you´re doing that for the archive challenge, do it with the silent bell. Almo gave decent advice here, too, but in the end it´s really hard to land those suprise hits.

I did indeed do something like this.

I'll link the discussion if you want to see it OP.

    And Blight wins EZ.

Yeah I liked yours^^ still baffled Oni got eliminated 1st round though, what a bummer :D

  • Maybe split it into several posts and make it a poll. Just recently someone did something exactly like this^^

    Blight btw:P

  • My money is on Trapper. 8 feet tall strongman vs deformed abomination that should barely be able to move....If we consider weapons, billy has a good chance, but Trappers cleaver has WOOM, it looks so heavy.

  • Got every licensed chapter, some cosmetics, some rifts and when I started out I got some of the Original Chapters with $. Don´t regret a cent of it, I love DBD.

  • I´m on Steam in EU, Survivor qeue times are many times longer than Killer apart from the mornings in my experience. Crossplay on.

  • When I first started out I played lots of Billy and I got to rank 1 within my first month of playing. I really liked the character, but of course I was boosted as hell and pretty much carried by the addons.

I still played him quite a bunch up until a bit over a year ago. Recently I tried to give it a go again, and it was miserable.

With all the good addons gone, he may very well be a contender for hardest Killer to play now imo. It feels like every move you make has to be 100% on point or the mistake will be too costy to be able to recover from them. I´m also not sure if the flick has been changed, back then I was quite decent at it, or if I just have to practice way more to get a hang of it again. And that´s another thing: It feels like he requires tremendous amount of daily practice to be effective now, so you either be a Hillbilly main or won´t be able to play him effectively at all.

As someone who enjoyed him casually, this feels like something I no longer can do, so I just don´t bother anymore. I guess many players who occasionally enjoyed him before share this feeling. Doesn´t help that the chainsaw makes the ears bleed, too.

  • Unfortunately he IS outclassed by Oni. They are quite similar in how their powers work, so there´s merit to that.

Oni has better early game, way stronger power, no limitations to his power (blood can always be available), and in-built tracking.

Myers gets a way worse early game, hard cap to the use of his power, far less imparctul power in comparison, but he gains a reduced tr.

I play both very extensively. When Myers gets redone, they should take a look at Oni to compare.

  • Myers is my most played Killer. There´s more nuance to him than people give him credit for in my opinion. Many people here have stated valid criticism though - extremely bad early game, rivaled only by trapper. Often times the outcome is dictated by how fast Myers can find Survivors and get rolling. Unreasonable limitations for EW3.

When he does though he´s the M1 Superman. His weaknesses only ever come into play against the very best Survivor players and let´s be honest, it´s really not that frequent to encounter these. And even against them he can simply force downs with EW3.

Apart from that he´s not only solid, but really strong. I average 3k+ in red ranks with him. As many other Killers of course he´s severaly limited by complete lack of mobility and map pressure, but these are all hardships you can work on overcomming. As with all low mobility Killers every step you take has to be a conscious decision. I kinda like that tbh.

If he ever gets changed I hope they improve his early game, overhaul the stalk mechanic to something more modern and appropriate ( lessen range penalty, it´s so stupid, and remove the hard cap for stalk, other Killers with stronger powers are not so limited, why is he?). and take a look at his addons. Many are just plain useless or straight up OP.

So I just wanna address the fact that people always wanna compare PH and spirits performance at the tournament to public play.

First PH got stomped because not only does his ability not involve gen regression, but these survivors are some of the best. Otz wrecks with PH almost every game on YouTube and yet he lost against people who are GUARANTEED 4 man and who have perks to win. And also spirit? Really?! Oh look at her she got gen rushed! Dude really? Of course she did, but what did she do majority of the time? WIN!! Nurse and spirit were the winners until one team was just too good.

Second let's adress the play styles, first most of the time survivors werent dumb enough to do the lose lose. Situation and even then to avoid that they always got hit and when they had a safe vault they made the right choices to avoid a hit through walls. As spirit people didnt mind game they never put themselves in a situation where they are in a lose lose and when they did, they lost. The only times the spirit messed up was when they assumed they'd hit a survivor and frankly a normal player under all that pressure would crumble.

All that shows that to make these killers lose you NEED to pressure to the point they are hopeless and have to go for every hit they can regardless of how smart some times. And that you need to be the best of the best.

Due to that same logic you should understand why people dislike these killers. I PERSONALLY dont play with the best people my friends I usually play with aren't as good as me for the most part and then I have a friend @azame who is better and even then we cant beat a good spirit without a team focusing on gens which killers complain.about on the forums. See the predicament? We do what YOU guys TELL us and then you COMPLAIN so you can fix gens and keep your killers unfair.

Not only is this a reflection of defensive mindsets you guys say that these killers are fine because people who play for thousands of hours, coordinated with good perk synergy wreck them or barely beat them in spirits case, you say they are fine for pubs which the servers I play on SUCK! red ranks with urban evasion and self care who let you die or cant do gens. These killers wreck the majority over some dumb mechanics and its ok because a tournament with some of the best players had players who destroyed them.

TLDR(however you put it): its dumb to talk about how justified spirit and PH bad mechanics are over a tournament with some of the best players who finish gens in 3 to 5 minutes when the public matches can't replicate that

Put your opinions below and thanks for reading

FYI tier lists should use the highest capacity for play, balance should not.

I may have missed it, but it seems you ignored the fact that some of the very best Killer players used them as well.Your argument is easily turned around. A good team focusin on gens requires the two or three strongest Killers to stand a chance, yet when they are picked, they are complained about.

The tournament had it´s flaws but it impressively highlighted that in the high skill bracket, Survivors just dominate against everything but Nurse.

  • Yeah, manly Killer taking out his thick waterhose and spraying the Survivors all over their....faces will surely lessen the Daddy talk :P

  • @Sluzzy said:

With Undying and Tinkerer, it almost balances out.

Considering how many maps are so killer sided with so much deadzones, survivors do need a map or two to have it easier.

After a Spirit brings in the most ridiculous build and slaughters everyone because of auras all over the screen on the tiny McMillan map, an Ormond map is a breath of fresh air.

Of course you´re entitled to your opinion - yet this is a really, really unpopular one I´m afraid. Can you really not see how Ormond is insanely unbalanced?

  • It´s the biggest map design flaw ever since infinites were created. Only trolls or inexperienced players might deem it okay.

  • There are tons!

Personal favorites being Killers whiffing or bumping into obstacles with their chainsaws, the best thing propably being Survivors running while looking to the sky. Idk why but that´s just piss my pants funny to me ^^

  • Enjoy your break, I know they can help recharge interest a bit. Maybe DBD will be in a better place if and when you make a return.

  • I wouldn´t be opposed to it if it weren´t for people already self caring through mangled already. This might amplify the problem.

To make it a free perk, it should be balanced to 3-4 times normal healing speed. Way too strong to be a base mechanic the way it is currently.

Lol keep dreaming. They’ve been silent on anti-cheat for a long time.

All dc penalties do is ensure you cant opt out if you come across a hacker.

Well, too bad. Seems kinda dumb to leave the players at the mercy of hackers without any form of protection if you ask me.

  • They are always ok to use, don´t let anyone tell you otherwise. Certain combinations just create incredibly op situations in which the Killer input doesn´t matter at all anymore - whether they afk or do anything else, the outcome is the same. So yeah they are shunned, that doesn´t mean you can´t use them though.

  • @GoshJosh said:

As I didn't see official mention anywhere else.

Any mention of some sort of anti cheat program the DEVs added as well? Seems pointless to bring back DC penaltys if hackers can still force you into a ban ez

  • AFAIK not_queen is planning to "accidentally" end him during their upcoming MMA title fight this friday night, 09:00 pacific time. McLean and MCote are in on it, too, they´re gonna temper with Pheads water before the fight.

  • My favorite Survivors are David and Jane (would recommend Iron will on them though).

For Killer I find it hard to pick favorites, propably Myers.

  • @HEX_MalusGrey said:

  • Can´t say much about Fixated since I haven´t run it much, but Spine Chill is an extraordinarily good perk. It will reduce the chance of a Stealth Killer getting the jump on you to almost 0 if you´re paying attention. Many Killers nowadays run Tinkerer, so having these extra 8 seconds head start will come in handy quite often.

Good Killers will fool SC though if they pick up on the fact, but for the most part it makes you safe. Especially at the start of a match when it´s unclear which Killer you´re facing. Super strong against Myers and GF. You even get an extra action speed boost as a cherry on top ;-)

  • Too bad, I really enjoyed his content. Was nice to see the colabs with Monto and Puppers, too. Hope he´s doing okay.

  • It is, I´m afraid only now more people have realised how insanely OP it is.

    @YoshisCookies said:

if OoO is on da rise thats fine with me camp and facecamp da OoO user and move on to da next person

I´ve encountered numerous teams over the course of the last two weeks that had 2 OoO users to literally always be able to call out info about the Killer to the team. It´s disgusting and Kills all the fun, especially on Myers and Trapper.

  • My guess would be one of the old original realms, propably either Coldwind Farm or Autohaven Wreckers. Which I would WISH for though would be Ormond, this map is so miserable.

  • Yeah he´s been held captive in a small hole in the wall, his back and legs are totally ######### up. Judging by appearance he should be barely able to walk. But it´s the entitys realm!

On a side note I find everything billy does and all his sounds heavily hillarious, personal favorites being his roar, bumping into a wall and whiffing an attack xD

  • Evil Incarnate is unbelievably difficult if the Survivors decide to simply deny it, so not only will you have to make the addons both work which is extremely hard but also hope for generousity or inexperience on their part.

As someone who plays solo only, I never dreamed of getting where did they go?. I was incredibly lucky though as a 3 man took me with them when they went through the hatch, it´s been a long time ago but I still remember this match :)

  • Here´s someone who plays both.

I take from your post that you´re not intimately familiar with their respective powers yet. So first off, Myers is easier to play, although there definately is some finesse in managing your power. His early game is so bad it´s only surpassed by Trapper. Great addons, but Myers without addons is perfectly fine as well. Some offer different playstyles altogether which can make for a nice change of pace once in a while.

Tenoresax already posted a helpful video, I recommend you check out some more before making a decision. Bear in mind that Ghostface is one of the more advanced and challenging Killers to play, as good Survivors will continuously rob you of your power if your gameplay isn´t on point. With GF, there´s no margin of error unless you run double recovery addons. The addon dependancy is something you should be aware of.

On the flipside, his stealth is the best in the game whereas Myers is more of a semi-stealth Killer. Ghostface can remove his red stain and terror radius with Night Shroud, gaining the undetectable status. Myers has that only in Tier 1 but moves at a snails pace until he Tiers up, losing Undetectable but having a smaller TR still. On many maps this doesn´t help too much though as he´s a 8´4 mountain in DBD and is easily spotted across the map.

Gameplay-wise Myers is pretty straight forward, making him a great casual pick and more relaxed to play. Ghostface requires a lot of planning ahead and making the right decisions on the fly, generally more stressful. Both are very weak in chase, too.

Hope this helps, maybe watch some more Otz videos :P

People tell me the post game chat can be closed, but I think it would do everyone a favor to just remove it entirely.

Well it´s not so much a problem for me, people being mean on the internet really is the least of my concerns. There are people though that have a hard time coping with such things, it can really take a toll on them. I wouldn´t wanna miss the nice post game chats so I´ll always leave it open.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Warrior form Xenomorph, maybe even a Praetorian skin for it. Definitely not a Queen form.

Dunno about power, but probably a movement/stealth option.

Mori would use the toothed "tongue" to burst open Survivor's heads, just like in the movies.

You could even get Amanda Ripley as the Survivor, have it be the Alien: Isolation chapter, on board the space ship.

Alien would make for a cool chapter for sure! Doesn´t even need to be Sevastopol station, the Nostromo would to, too.

  • I know the feels. It´s amplified by this insulting, almost mocking sound cue, too.

It gets worse once post game chat starts and the survivors tell the Killer that he sucks, EZ and he should kill himself this disappointed sound and message are still fresh.

Don´t know whether they should change it. If they don´t, you can work on your attitude towards it at least, it will lessen the frustration more than any change of message ever could.

  • It´s gotten so bad with the DCs. I hope the DEVs will implement some sort of anti cheat software soon so penaltys can make a return.

Tonight I decided to play some GF, I haven´t played him in quite some time. First match I get rekt, fine, it happens. Then three matches where the first guy I mark and take down DCs, one time taking his SWF buddy with him.

I´m sick of having "farm games" so often. I usually don´t mind them in case something fishy has happened or sth, and they can be quite fun, but now it´s like every other game. Please, invest in anti cheat software and bring back DC penaltys, it´s starting to seriously impact the enjoyment of DBD.

  • I used to do a lot of lifting, Kickboxing and MMA from my teens to my mid-twenties. Nowadays I´m fine with just weights and cardio, can´t compete in the ring anymore anyway (had a couple injuries but no biggie, it´s not my job).

  • There are a couple of neat options that were mentioned here. Personally, the only Killer I truly WANT for DBD is Jason Vorhees, anything else is pretty secondary. Hope the DEVs don´t forget about him once he´s free to join our ensemble.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 33
