  • Only problem I see with this is freddys lack of TR on sleeping survivors - does unnerving presence work then?

  • It depends. I´ve had a lot of nice talks after games and I wish we could communicate better with our console players.

I totally get where you´re coming from, though. At this point post game BM is basically a core feature of DBD. You might want to close the chat prematurely especially when you don´t feel like you´re in the right mind to deal with that right now. You can always re-open :)

Don´t let it get to ya too much, it´s the internet, it´s just a game. You propably have better stuff to worry about.

  • For arguments sake I´ll assume this is not a venting-post because you were "gen-rushed". Do you maybe have a clip of that? The only way this would be possible is via cheating. Wouldn´t be too suprising since it´s a growing problem.

Unfortunately without you giving the team video evidence there is no way for them to detect cheats and exploits, so bear that in mind for the future.

  • I agree with your list and wanna add ma boi Oni if Wrath is ready to go.

  • Screenshot (25)_LI.jpg

I love stuff like this. It was the key holder, btw^^

see? you can vent and be a good sports at the same time!

  • Welcome to DBD, where many players consider everything the opponent does as a toxic act!

Fortunately there are a bunch of nice people, too. BM and toxicity, especially from SWF groups, is something you will have to grow accustomed to if you want to continue playing.

That's too bad haha, I for one love playing against Oni. Being chased by him whilst he's using his power is some of the most intense, adrenaline-fueled fun in the game.

Definately agree, love playing and facing him^^

I don´t encounter many Slingers though, so I can´t really make a judgement on whether the complaints have merit or not.

  • Screenshot (19)_LI.jpg

I feel ya. Too bad crossplay doesn´t allow chat, I´d love to have heard their justifications.

  • Survivor side. Qeue as a group of 4, use Object of Obsession and as many 2nd chance perks as possible, 4 high tier items you know you can put to good use, and burn an Ormond offering - voila, it´s almost a guaranteed win.

Killer: Use Bubba with Noed, insidious and 2 passive stall perks. Use an ebony Mori. Facecamp the 1st poor dude - profit.

  • Kudos to you for working on overcoming the hardships life has thrown at you. Things like these amaze me. Hopefully this post will make someone think twice about how they act towards a person they know nothing about.

Ok, gen rushing may not be toxic but it is annoying, but healing in front of you definitely is saying "Haha you can't get me"

Highly disagree, it´s just the game. I don´t wanna come off condescending but in the end it´s on you to make sure they can´t do that and get punished for it. DBD isn´t exactly a horror game for the more experienced playerbase anyway, so I advice you to not expect Survivors to be afraid of you in any shape, way or form.

  • Please take a good look at what you mentioned and try to distinguish what is, and what isn´t toxic. DBD can be a very frustrating game, this doesn´t mean certain mechanics are toxic.

Of course it´s a matter of perspective, but "gen rush"or healing in your FOV are not toxic as far as most people are concerned I´d assume.

BM on the other hand is, and it is a widespread problem - especially people that qeued as Survivor are guilty of that in my experience. In the end, it´s an online game, so you better grow a thicker skin and find a way to enjoy it still because trolls and ill mannered people won´t go away.

No because if you're in a main building or a jungle gym you don't know for sure where and I've seen plenty of people run spine chill try to get a head start to safety and run right into ghostface or a killer who's undetectable and go down, I personally only run it for my vault build but that doesn't change the fact that people are running it and actually getting a use with the new meta, how can people complain about spine chill with all the other problems going on?

Because it is possible to discuss more than one issue at a time, as hard as that might be to fathom for you.

I personally imagine her grandfather who fought in the second world war on the Chinese front and the survivor being a Chinese

I´d imagine the DEVs would rather not get that political. It´s propably a too loaded issue.

Yea because when you're in a jungle gym or a main building you can see through walls right? That's a ridiculous answer , you're just complaining because you're not a good killer there's no other answer when people suck so damn bad they start saying nerf spine chill , you wouldn't have survived playing killer when survivors really were OP, and everyone is running it because of undetectable perks it's literally one of the only counters in the game to stealth , it's just gonna be another perk you're complaining about next because you think everyone should be a Bot and fall for your stealth gameplay , killers have caused a meta shift it's laughable with the ruin ,undying , tinkerer meta now people want the only true counter to that build nerfed because they don't want to have to use brain cells to get a down just want you to sit there holding M1 until they show up to snatch you or get a free hit

You´re making a lot of assumptions bud. I don´t get why you´re so crazy butthurt....maybe stop throwing baby fits and engage in reasonable arguments. People won´t take you seriously when all you say is "waa waaa you´re bad waa waa", you know?

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196495/rework-spine-chill-detect-aura-detection

Distortion already tells you when your aura is revealed , there's nothing wrong with spine chill it doesn't even tell you which direction they're coming from and they might not even be chasing or coming to you when it procs , people have to make excuses for their bad gameplay because they can't handle taking a L in a match and need something to scapegoat instead of being an adult and seeing where they messed up and owning it , the killers caused spine chill to be used more by all the undetectable options in the game being used now , you can't nerf literally the only counter for stealth, after spine chill it will just be another perk you're bitching about

To be fair you can counter stealth with....eyes? At least most of the time. Isn´t it strange that so many complaints about SC pop up? It´s too good at what it does currently, that´s why almost everyone is running it nowadays. Not to mention that the counterplay to SC is stupid as #########.

  • I feel bad for Survivors that fall victim to tunneling and camping - depending how they define these things and the circumstances around it. It seems there´s a huge number of players that consider about every single Killer action to be camping/tunneling.

Back to topic: I share your experience to a degree. It does happen, but in my experience far less than the forums make it look to be. Idk, about 1/10 games? Not sure, it really is rather rare for me.

  • I´m still tired and in pain but seems about right^^

  • Experiences differ of course but I´ve had very similar ones as you did. Even considering the 4:1 ratio, toxicity and BM on the Survivor side is so much more prevalent it isn´t even funny. I also don´t know where it stems from, but from my experience it´s a given that a Killer will engage in said behavior way less.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196188/is-cheating-still-a-thing-in-this-game-my-guess-is-of-course-yes

Yes, it's rampant, and there's nothing we can do about it until the devs bother to do something about it, and they won't.

I wouldn´t neccessarily agree that it´s rampant but if you play a lot you will come across hackers several times a week or even within a day if you´re unlucky.

Unless you record all your gameplay and send these recordings to BHVR, they can´t take action since they are unable to detect hacks/exploits and bannable offenses without video proof sent by the players. There´s definately lots of room for improvement there.

I was playing when the old DS was used every game. I always remember the juggling you had to do.

This one still isn't balanced though. Yes it's better than the old one but it's still broken in some ways.

    Here's why people complain:

    • Hooked near exit door is a free escape.
    • Hook someone, then hook 1 or 2 survivors and then getting hit with 59 second DS.
    • Survivors can just work on gens in your face then jump into lockers. You either camp the gen/locker or leave. Either option is bad.
    • Unbreakable + DS combo is pretty dumb.

It needs to be balanced a lot better. I created a discussion a week ago on what I'd personally do to fix DS since I feel like it does need changed.

Great summary! I´d like to add that "near exit door" means closer than 33 seconds worth of Survivor running time, since this is the time the Killer needs to catch up at 115% MS ( 5 second stun = 20 meter head start(5x4m/s). 4.6m/s(115%) Killer gains 0,6m/s. 20/0.6=33.33).

On almost every map you´d have to be hooked as far as possible from an open exit gate for most Killers to have a slight chance of catching the survivor before they escape.

  • I wouldn´t be opposed to the idea, the pig mains out there have been through a lot. On the other hand it seems unfair that Pig should get the same crouch as GF while having a chase tool built into it, something that GF lacks (both can mindgame using undetactable).

So to make it more fair it should either just be a tad faster and not be on GF´s level or considerably increase the windup for the dash in my opinion.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Any DLC that not license are free. Free for me is anything you can get without paying real money.

I second this. Given how much the game has grown content-wise maybe it could be a good idea to add a chapter or two to the base game though. I´m not sure to which degree this differs depending on platform, but afaik the steam version comes with Lullaby in the Dark ,Last Breath and the L4D paragraph. Maybe they could add Curtain call, Shattered Bloodline or Demise of the faithful into the package.

This would help ease the grind ( the main reason I reliably fail to spark passion for the game in others, as soon as they realise how much they would have to buy and grind for, they´re out )

  • Unfortunately the report system in its current form requires the witness of anything bannable to record it themselves. Without being provided video proof sent by the customer they are unable to identify cheats/exploits/bannable offenses, so just keep that in mind for the next incident.

  • @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

There are people who play both sides or just survivor who do not agree with DS, which is perfectly fine. Yes, DS used to be worse, but people still are allowed to feel a certain way about certain mechanics. It's also okay if you think DS should not be changed and you feel like it's okay. That's why opinions exist and are subjective.

I definitely understand why people would want it to be changed, especially due to it's perk synergy with things like Unbreakable, Adrenaline, etc. DS is a very useful perk, especially if combined with other specific perks.

I second this. There certainly are a bunch of people that play both sides and do not fail to see how DS, especially when paired with UB/SG, is problematic. I won´t repeat the reasons again since by now everyone and their moms know about them. Either you agree or you don´t.

  • I have a feeling this post will bring me a couple jail buddies.

  • Great! I´m glad every DBD player now has agreed on a set of rules to fall back on if there´s ever any doubt about what is allowed and what is not.

  • No it isn´t. If you ask me it´s a generous and moderate response. Can´t believe the perk is still in it´s current form either. Don´t let them drag you down!

  • Myers has the weakest early game out of any Killer, only rivaled by Trapper. The trade-off, EW3, doesn´t make up for that in higher level play.

Still loopable, weak to SC due to Stalking mechanic, weak against Object and exhaustion perks, weak on maps with many pallets and good visibility. Power can run out completely (Survivors don´t regenerate Evil). Huge penalty when stalking from range (unlike Ghostface).

The nerf to EW1 hurt him (no longer immune to spine chill, a perk that´s present almost every match).

It´s a shame he´s way down in the bottom tier. Can win against most red rank players, like every other killer, but stuggles immensely against the good teams.

Upside : Lots of cool playstyles and addons, in fact some of the strongest in-game. They kinda make up a bit for his very weak basekit.

Bottom line he´s due for some serious buffs and QoL changes.

  • I´d like to see some kind of houndmaster. I´m not sure how it could be implemented but having one or two "hellhound" style pets to send out would be so cool.

  • In my opinion it depends more on which Killer you find fun than how viable they are. Against the vast majority of Survivors any Killer can get the job done too. Just be aware that against the really good Survivors you will get rekt 95% of the time unless you play Nurse, Spirit or Hag.

That said, maybe watch some tier list vids on the topic. I suggest checking out otzdarva if you´re not familiar with him already.

My personal recommendation, since you seem new-ish or at least not quite the veteran yet: Hillbilly or Leatherface are both quite nice and would be somewhere in the middleground strength- and skillcapwise. They will introduce you to new ways of dealing with loops and Survivor movement , something that Wraith kinda lacks apart from bodyblocking (nice tech on the chainsaw bros too btw).

Hillbilly for more power and mobility, Leatherface for BBQ and easier gameplay.

  • I tend to slug quite a bit, especially on Oni. I wouldn´t be opposed to the idea if implemented with reasonable numbers. Maybe starting at 0% for one slug, 10 for two, 15 for three and 20 for four?

All the anti slug mechanics aside, I know how unfun slugging is for the victim. This is why I like to give hatch so often for Survivors that push through ;-)

    I just had a 25 minute match.

    25 MINUTES.

How on earth did it go for 25 minutes? I'll tell ya, immersive asswipes.

All dark prestige outfits, two of them Claudettes, Urban Evasion, Sprint Burst, Diversion and DS up the #########' wazoo, can't forget the Yamaoka offering and 3 Purple Reagents.

at the very least least 20 or so minutes of the 25 I spent in there, was just me walking around searching, they did a single gen and just kinda hid for the rest of the game.

Why do people do this? How is this fun? What's cool or funny about doing nothing and wasting 25 minutes of your own time and another person who just wants to play the game and have fun?

They do it for a reaction or simply enjoy such acts for themselves. If they are forum readers and see this post it will be a dream come true for them.

I feel you though. Normal TR Killer without detection perks I assume?

  • This is hillarious xD

If you know this is a problem then why make killers try to complete grabs for archive challenges?

Maybe it wasn´t possible to resolve the issue on schedule due to unforseen circumstances/ more urgent issues that had risen?

Your question has merit but I highly doubt there´s malicious intent behind it.

  • @Rizzo said:

Without proof, how can you determine if the report is legit or fake?

And about the rest, keep in mind temporary bans don't show up on their profile, so the people you reported might have been banned for 24/48 hours without you knowing it.

I understand and I agree. This i just my opinion of course, but wouldn´t it be better to implement some kind of software to detect cheats and exploits rather than having the players be required to record their gameplay?

Regarding your second statement, I think it just would be appreciated if there was some kind of feedback that action was taken. Blizzard does this, for example. Doesn´t have to be much, just an automated confirmation response would be really neat.

  • There just should be two simple changes to improve bans.

    1) Relieve the witness from the burden of proof. Seriously, it´s inappropriate and and a chore to demand that customers record all of their gameplay to do the ban teams job for them. Given the level of optimisation DBD has I´d imagine many people can´t even afford that without setting their hardware literally on fire. Why does EAC even exist when it does nothing?

    2) Give feedback to the witness when their submission resulted in a ban. Of course experiences differ, but I reported some people for the most heinous post game chats, the whole package, and....nothing. This gives off the impression that nothing you could write in-game could ever get you banned.

That works until you realize he's using an anti-loop/pallet build. Now you've got deadzones everywhere and a raging monster tearing through the level.

Interesting. I have yet to encounter an Oni with chase perks though. In my experience, huge waste - detection and stall work better, at least for me.

  • Good job, cheers to many more to come ;-)

  • I`m sorry but it wasn´t you that came up with it. Use the search function ;-)

  • It was a close one. I´d have put Myers as the one needing buffs the most if it hadn´t been for Trapper, which I went with. Both are weaker than Clown imo and all of them are part of my core roster.

  • M1 Superhero: Brutal Strength, Enduring, Bamboozle, Fire up, Spirit Fury or Surge

  • Actually I had great fun getting all the adepts. The DCs suck oviously, but it´s a neat achievement especially if done at red ranks. I´ve got only Nurse left to do, the only one I´m in no way excited about....

  • Generally speaking I definately agree! It wouldn´t make sense to be that biased on so many levels....

Yet there is the odd occasion like the recent PoP change. The nerf itself was, well, unneeded but isn´t much of a nerf regardless, so who cares.

The justification though was baffling to say the least. You know why. Incidents like these feed the idea of the DEVs being biased, because it´s extremely hard not to think that they are with how this issue has been handled.

  • I used it back then when I started. Yes, it´s a super-salt generator but it´s debatable whether that´s an upside.

Nowadays I never run it. As Survivor it feels so cheap getting downed by it, especially solo. The Killer gets the benefit either way, too- either they waste time cleansing all the dulls or risk getting hit by NOED. In this regard it works really similar to DS. Just the possibility of being present on your opponent makes you waste time or deal with possible severe consequences.

  • Dead hard is a perk you come across basically every game. Unless you see them use Sprint Burst, Lithe or Balanced Landing, just assume they have it and act accordingly. Especially when you are closing in for a hit on an injured Survivor and they turn around towards you.

  • If I felt I did well. This actually depends highly on the opposition. For example, if I run up against a full squad of great players as clown and I manage to get a 2k (or at least 6+ hooks) I consider it well enough for a gg.

If I run a baby Killer for 3+ gens and only using 1-3 pallets, not so much and I feel bad for them.

Most importantly, independant from the outcome, it´s a gg for me when no one goes toxic in post game or goes out of their way to be annoying in-game(t-bagging, mori-tunneling for example).

  • Imagine thinking Ruin+Undying is op considering there are quite a bunch ot tools that help in dealing with totems. The only Killer I run this combo currently on is Oni. From what I can tell so far, yes it is strong but it´s also highly inconsistend still. There have been many matches where Undying goes first only to be followed by ruin not even a minute later. At least it makes running ruin worth it for the time being.

I agree with @arcnkd here. It seems there are quite a bunch of players that are hellbent on never leaving the "full crutch combo" club and won´t even consider adapting to a shifting meta. Here, these guys : https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194751/survivor-tier-list-based-on-how-many-second-chance-perks-they-have

I guess to some it´s fair to stack as many 2nd chance perks as possible with Object in SWF and still not be threatened by any mechanic a Killer can bring. Smh.

  • It´s a neat idea. I appreciate everything that makes Object less of a completely OP busted annoyance.

In my own post I suggested a mechanic to make Object more dangerous the more it is used. After x seconds of use, the user will be exposed until downed. After y seconds, the user can be moried.

    What you think about that?

  • @Skelemania said:

I actually wish the Mori were more graphic in this mature rated game. Mortal Kombat Fatality style. Most of them look pretty lame since you're not seeing a lot of blood or dismemberment or anything. It's just usually a lil' beatin' & then a corpse laying there lookin' like they're just sleeping.

Some are brutal enough imo. Bubba, Oni, Slinger come to mind. I agree though that the corpses of the Moried Survivors should be far more mangled and mutilated.
